Obama’s Media Edge

Rasmussen’s latest poll shows the public largely thinks the media is biased. Also, this report notes that an earlier survey found:
that 30% of voters believe having a friendly reporter is more valuable than raising a lot of campaign contributions. Twenty-nine percent (29%) believe contributions are more important and 40% are not sure.
While older surveys found that the public perceives a liberal bias in news reporting, this survey drilled a little deeper, finding that the public feels Barack Obama (54%) has had the most favorable press while Hillary Clinton has had the worst (43%).
Interestingly or not, depending on your cynicism, 44% of voters feel reporters will try to help Obama, with 13% feeling McCain will get help. Democrats themselves recognize this and 27% of them think reporters will help Obama.
44% of unaffiliated voters feel Obama will get reporters’ help, with 14% thinking McCain will get it; and among Republicans, fully 70% expect Obama to get deference.
