Oh – and instead of “businesses give gifts to their workers” to get them to vote a certain way, we instead have Wright’s and Pfleger’s churches taking government earmark money for their “community programs” to help Chicago members while espousing political doctrines under tax-exempt and charitable status — isn’t it obvious that it’s not out of the goodness of their hearts, but rather, political patronage?

By 1854, Tammany’s lineage and support from immigrants had made it a powerful force in New York politics. Tammany controlled businesses, politics and sometimes law enforcement. Businesses would give gifts to their workers and, in exchange, tell the workers to vote for the politicians that were supported by Tammany (usually a straight Democratic ticket). In 1854, the Society elected its first New York City mayor. Tammany’s “bosses” (called the “Grand Sachem”) and their supporters enriched themselves by illegal means. The most infamous boss of all was William M. “Boss” Tweed, whose control over the Tammany Hall machine allowed him to win election to the New York State Senate.

Eerily similar to what’s going on today, huh? Just change Boss Tweed to Boss Obama, immigrant support to African-American support, and New York to Chicago and voila – you have the corruption of today. Complete with gifts like large houses to Obama and boardroom positions and you end up having Tammany Hall all over again. Thank goodness Tweed went to jail, Rezko is now, hmmmmm – Obama?

Yes, many of us are white (though many aren’t, although I guess you’re not addressing those others).
And we’re bitches. And we get to vote. (Though I’m sure if you could stop us you would.) And it’s still a secret ballot. At least for now.

Maybe that’s because he’s planning to steal the GE.
He sure seems confident. I don’t think he can win legally, but if they use those same techniques they used in the caucuses, and used when they could in the primaries…
I find this really scary.
Has any other “presumptuous” nominee ever done this before? Calls himself head of DNC now. Is this usual? Has any other official nominee even done this?

Take the party back…
Nominate and run alternative Democratic candidates.
Anti-popes ran Europe for centuries..
Create a “Democratic Govt in Exile”
Tell Dean to stick it up his “Wahoo!”
Our elected representatives still have to do what we tell ‘em.
Maybe we just aren’t loud enough yet.
But PLEASE stop being so dam defeatist.
It may be time to wipe the stink of this non-representative party leadership off of the party but whining will only get so much done.
These guys are playing for keeps and are just that far away from stealing not just the Democratic Party but maybe the whole country.
