THAT is laughable. If you have read the house bill, it not an OPTION, over the period of several years people who have ANY changes in their coverage offered such as prescriptions co pays etc, will be FORCED into the public option.

Show me proof that anyone besides the current administration is taking money from the insurance industry. Proof exists that they have. Proof exists that they are using taxpayers money to push this.

I know that I would definitely choose the public option over the private health insurance companies because I don’t trust those companies, I know the truth of what they are up to and how often they take away coverage from those who need it most.

I’m sure many people would be switching to the public option once they realized how much better it was… And then eventually with time – perhaps that system could be expanded to become a real “single payer” system.

I think we have to accept the political realities here. Yes a single payer system would be the best case scenario, but considering the huge push back at even giving people the OPTION to choose a government plan, imagine the push back at saying we should have a real national health care system?
