I bet there was a behind the scenes debate about whether they should say “crucified” or “lynched” and “crucified” won out for whatever reason-LOL. We were expected to study and learn. That was our job. We were taught to question and not accept blindly and to think things through. I went to 13 different schools in 12 years both public and catholic and in every one we had teachers that expected us to learn and were willing to teach to the best of their ability. In some of the catholic schools there were two grades in one room with one nun and as many as 60 or 70 kids. We were still taught well and we did learn. But at that time you were expected to respect the teacher.
