AGREED – not voting is the absolute worst thing one could do. I makes no statement. You won’t show up anywhere. There’s always a large % of voters who are simply no shows.

You must cast a vote, and do it in compliance with your state rules. KNOW YOUR STATE RULES. Some states won’t count any votes on your ballot if the presidency is blank. The computer reads it as an empty ballot.

Vote Nader if you can’t vote McCain.

The closer we get to November, the more information will be available. I would think a Nader vote takes away from Obama, but I don’t know yet.

My God, Nixon beat McGovern.

Yes but Nixon wanted to defeat McGovern. His ‘plumbers’ deliberately eliminated all the other candidates so he would run against McGovern.

There are two ramifications to that. One is that in 1972 the Republicans had to work and cheat to get the election. The other is that this time they can chill out in Nassau for half a year and the Obarky idiots will take care of things all by themselves.

Hell I get a threat a day.

Not to mention all the horrifically imflamatory messages being posted in my name with my link. They get found. I field them. Most who know me know that crap isn’t coming from me.

Barack Obama has done Leland Gaunt proud. He has managed to tap the malacious side of the children. No doubt about it. So McGovern, really

One major thing McGovern and, to some degree, Dukakas’ followers have in common is their young rude followers scared the crap out of the electorate and made it so they couldn’t wait to get to the polls to vote for the Other Guy. My God, Nixon beat McGovern. People were that offended. Nothing has changed really, except now we have the internet where even more people can be offended and horrified. This makes for a very eager electorate.

Nobody registered more new young eager voters than George McGovern. ALl those baby boomers. Obnoxious as hell! And he ended up with 38% of the vote. He was a far nicer guy than Obama and actually had some significant experience. But his radical and college followers killed him. It’s almost like deja vu now.
