Breaking: It’s not a rumor any more

There has been much speculation of late as to what will happen to Hillary’s delegates at the Democratic National Convention. As everyone by now knows, Hillary suspended (did not quit) her campaign and threw her support behind Barack Obama. And because technically, she did not quit her campaign, equally as technically she did not release her delegates. This has been the root source of much confusion and rumor.

On June 7th, 2008 the New York Times published a piece about disaffected Hillary Voters. A Hillary supporter, Cynthia Ruccia of Women for Fair Politics, was interviewed.

Clinton Bloc Becomes the Prize for Election Day

When Mr. Dean reached out to Cynthia Ruccia, who started an organization of female Clinton swing-state voters threatening to vote for Mr. McCain, Ms. Ruccia asked that the Democratic convention include a symbolic first ballot for Mrs. Clinton’s delegates. Mr. Dean discouraged the idea on the grounds of unity.

Party Unity? When Dr. Dean lost his bid for the nomination his name was placed onto the first ballot. And he had a total of 167.5 delegates. Ted Kennedy had the right to contest the nomination when he was 1000 delegates behind Carter. So since when is recognizing and rewarding someone with 1640 pledged delegates discouraging party unity?

Being unable to find a definitive answer to this question I called the DNC this morning and spoke with a woman in the Chairman’s office. HERE is what I learned in that phone call today:

I explained to DNC employee in the Chairman’s office that I was confused by what I had read and asked her if what the New York Times article said was true. Was Dr. Dean discouraging placing Hillary’s name onto the first ballot because of party unity?

Her answer shocked me. She told me it was true. She said that Hillary Clinton had decided to support Barack Obama, therefore her name would not be placed on the ballot.

So I then asked her if Hillary Clinton had decided that she did not want her name placed into nomination on the first ballot. Her answer was that she couldn’t speak for Hillary Clinton. At least she got that much right. And she and the DNC do not speak for Hillary supporters either.

I do not know where this will go from here but I do know that history and precedent favor placing Hillary’s name on the first ballot. If Dean and his puny 167.5 delegates got onto the ballot (in 2004), then the person with the most votes in Democratic primary history certainly deserves equal treatment. Anything less isn’t fair or right. And it sure isn’t party unity.

Stay Tuned!

Appreciate the update but with all the rumors and liars out and about I’ll wait until I hear Hillary say something to clarify.

Regardless I will not be voting for Obama.

    • ScottVA

I agree with you! I also think that as long as she keeps her delegates she has to be placed on the first ballot! Obama doesn’t have enough to get the nomination automatically on pledged delegates alone!

You’d better modify your website since the overwhelming majority of those 18 million voices are now backing Obama–Strickland, Rendell, Solis-Doyle, Granholm, Wasserman-Schultz, Boxer, Feinstein, Waters, Rangel, Vilsack, Corzine, Carville, Begala, Bayh.

Everybody else has moved on except you silly little kids playing spy games in this dark little corner of the Internet.

And, FYI, Hillary’s name will not be on the first ballot of the convention. Obama is in charge and Pelosi is the chair. Hillary will be lucky if she’s allowed to use the restroom!

Lot of good that attitude will do for the general election. Ditto Dean keeping Hillary off the first ballot.

We’re not just ‘silly little kids.’ You exude the sentiment that will keep some of us from voting, and ensure some of us vote for McCain.

Not sure how anyone in the DNC can imagine an Obama win in November when the party is this splintered. With over 40 groups and dozens of websites standing up against the DNC’s boy of choice, you’ll be lucky if you win 5 states come November.

            • realchicken

yeah, yeah, yeah. “i’m going to vote for mccain. I’m going to destroy Obama. I’m going to nominate hillary at the convention.”

blah, blah, blah. if you couldn’t get the nomination for hillary when she was overwhelmingly favored, you’ll be sucking down Obama’s dust as he cruises to victory on 11/4!

              • meileen

Cluck, it will be fun watching you guys lose come November.

Please, keep up the hatred. It strengthens our resolve.

The only ones sucking down Obama’s dust will be anyone standing behind him as he flees the country to the jurisdiction of his choice that does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S. after McCain administers that terribly humiliating and embarrassing ass-kicking in the GE. After Obama doesn’t succeed in stealing the Presidency, and Rezko realizes he’s not gonna get that pardon and starts singing, Obama will be running so fast he’ll make even realchicken look brave.

Great comment Missy. I guess Obama will sing his church\pastor slogan “american chickens are coming home to roost”… OBAMA will not be in the White House but the FEDS have a nice Jail House after the investigation of his involvemnt with Rezko and his involvement with the murder of his Choirmaster Donald Young.

              • http://Lynn Spiritof76

I was going to reply to you, realchicken, but it isn’t worth it. I prefer intelligent discussions. Maybe you should check the rules on what “suspending” a campaign means. And, dear child, if Sen. Clinton’s name is not put into nomination then there will be a greater loss in November. Most of us believe we still live in a democracy, not a dictatorship or a theocracy.

          • PamFlorida

Aren’t you just the sweetest thing. Are those “old” politicians you named part of the “New” politics? They are just SDs, not representative of all voters.

Obama is very unlikely to win. I can’t see true Americans voting for a man that has sat for 20 yrs in a racist, anti-America church. Get real. It’s too bad they got in such a hurry to get a black man to run against Hillary that they didn’t take time to vet him. There are plenty of decent black people why choose one that hates America and has a wife that’s even worse.

          • Retired

Chick–Perhaps Hillary should be banned from the convention altogether, along with Bill. Waddya think?

          • PoWhiteTrash

Another Unity pony/phony express charge. Don’t these Dumb Bastards realise every time they show off their stupidity and misogny that the Great Dem. hope loses another vote. As long as these bastards think they are the Dem. party I won’t be.

–Strickland, Rendell, Solis-Doyle, Granholm, Wasserman-Schultz, Boxer, Feinstein, Waters, Rangel, Vilsack, Corzine, Carville, Begala, Bayh.

I count 13 and all but Rendell and Strickland have no pull for large numbers. Then if you combine the fact that neither will accept the VP slot, tell yourself all you want that the support is there–it’s there only in passing to portray a unified Democratic Party.

Face it. It’s broken. As a Libertarian I look forward to many moving to the LP. All that’s needed is some viable candidates and some infrastructure personnel who respect the Platform of the LP and you’ll see the third largest party finally get some voices in the Congress.

            • doctorwang

Amen brother! The LP already has a viable candidate with Bob Barr. Like many here, I feel that Hillary got the shaft. I will not vote for Obama, but I also cannot vote for that geriatric Panamanian octoroon McCain. Before you reply back that a vote for Barr is a wasted vote- remember: no one thought Obama would get the nomination, nor did anyone believe that McCain could beat Giuliani or Romney. Before you cast your vote for the oil lobby’s love slave, at least take at look at what Barr has to offer.

              • ulahane

Find a single credible poll that shows bar getting over 10% of the vote. If Barr, or Nader, or the yet to be decided Green Candidate start polling over 30% then they are worth considering.

Not to be suspicious, but you hurl insults at McCain but not Obama. I suspect that you are an Obama supporter trying to pull McCain voters away to help Obama.

          • ldb in texas

well that kind of thinking is surely a *party unifer*. good luck with that thought.

          • Frances Morey

I have long thought that this primary was all about vanquishing the Cintons. That it worked with such a thinly qualified, short term senator, who happens to be black, is testament to how sinister the Democratic Party elite really is and how powerfully they hate the Clintons.
Power that grows out of hatred is rotten to the core. The end does not justify the means. But what does ethics have to do with it? Call off your old tired ethics, right?

      • sowsear

Dean said she has to be nominated to be on the ballot. Aye, that’s the rub!

      • susan

And that is why they don’t want her name on that ballot—they are afraid!!! They have been strong-arming and threatening the pledged and super delegates, trying to replace some with Obama supporters, and who knows what else, because they know what we all know—that this isn’t over yet! What they are slow to learn, however, is that the more they try to intimidate delegates and voters, the more adamant we become in our efforts to defeat Obama and take this country back. So, have at it, Obama, DNC and thugs, but know this, there is nothing you can do to keep us from defeating Obama in November. We will literally drag ourselves to the polls if we have to, but you are all going to be taught a lesson, and that is, although the Dem party no longer means anything, democracy still does!

        • minnie

Not only are we for Hillary, but if they want to use their Chicago style, we will not vote for the judas, and the unfaithful delegates, super delegates, and whoever else pisses us off. So they have something else to think about. June 18th is going to be very interesting. Que sera, sera. GOD BLESS AMERICA! FROM MY LIPS TO GODS EARS!

Also, the last line in the letter was “…I’ll be in touch soon”. Wondering, what that means…

          • Mirlo

Please go to http://heidilipotpourri.blogspot.com. She has all the details. Your donation will go directly to the retirement of the campaign debt, which will empower Hillary and send a cristal clear message to the DNC, who is in bad need of money and doesn’t get any from the “no deal” community. Your donation cannot go to another candidate or another means without your written consent.

I hope you’ll take a moment to view our online album with some favorite photos from the campaign.

Thank you so much — I’ll be in touch soon.

Obama use of the words “kikes” and “niggers”
(in print)back in 1996, makes him one of the most vile political figures ever and yet apparently he is trying to keep Hillary off the Denver first ballot.

      *****
Please note I’m quoting the EXACT text that Obama wrote in the FIRST EDITION 1996, the later Second Edition 2004 has mysteriously SCRUBBED these words.
      *****

Whether because of New York’s density or because of its scale, it was only [there] that I began to grasp the almost mathematical precision with which America’s race and class problems joined; the bile that flowed freely not just out on the streets but in the stalls of Columbia’s bathrooms as well, where, no matter how many times the administration tried to paint them over, the walls remained scratched with blunt correspondence between niggers and kikes.

You obviously need reading comprehension skills Slim.

Here is the quote again and then I will walk you through it ok, ok?

” no matter how many times the administration tried to paint them over, the walls remained scratched with blunt correspondence between niggers and kikes.”
Source: Dreams from My Father, by Barack Obama, p.254 Aug 1, 1996

Slim you will notice that Obama could have said Blacks and Jews, he himself chose his own VILE words instead. Also Obama did not quote any of the actual content on the bathroom walls, he actually only called it “correspondence”.

I can understand why in the Second Edition that came out in 2004 , the sudden and obvious DELETION of Obama’s VILE words.

          • Slim Tyranny

You have the reading comprehension problems, the point of Obama’s word selection was clearly to illustrate the racial animosity even present in the bathrooms of an Ivy League school.

Those were the words written on the stalls, and he used them because of that. You are purposefully misconstruing the passage.

No doubt it was edited because of the likes of you.

Those words WERE NOT written on the wall in the context of what Obama had written. Obama described the content as “blunt correspondence” and he described the authors of said content as “niggers and kikes”. Obama could just as well described the authors as blacks and jews, instead of his VILE and disgusting words used.

              • Slim Tyranny

Look, you know the truth — Obama was demonstrating the “bluntness” of the “correspondence” by using the very words written on those bathroom walls. It was demonstrative.

It’s ridiculous to think that he just used those words as straightfoward LABELS, using bigoted slurs out of nowhere (one of which has been used against HIM!).

Cmon, stop it. You should be better than this.

Oh really, I should instead bury my head in the sand and cover for Obama’s VILE words. If it was somebody who was not running for PUBLIC office you can be sure I would not waste anyones time posting the TRUTH, BUT Obama is anything about the truth and he is a PUBLIC figure, as such his words, even if they are VILE and DISGUSTING have the right to see the light of day for others to see.

I have quoted FACTS that are in PUBLIC record and in FACT in print by Obama, maybe you need to take your displeasure of the facts straight to the Obama campaign and let them know you also find his words VILE and DISGUSTING.

Don’t shoot the messenger, that being me.

Those are indeed vile words, but QUOTING them is not vile. Obama was talking about racism in America, and he could make the exact same argument you’re making (don’t bury your head in the sand and cover for racism).

Look, I think you know that Obama was calling people those two words — he was QUOTING the bathroom stalls and the racist correspondence that can be found even in academic settings.

Given the fact that Obama himself has been called one of the vile words on plenty of occasions, it’s pretty disgusting for you to turn around and accuse him of using it himself.

            • gregoryp

I think you guys need to take some graduate level courses or something since Obamabots are supposed to be so intellectually superior to the rest of us mere mortals. It is very easy to see what Obama is up to here. He is stewing the embers of hate. He doesn’t give a damned about making the world a better place or healing racial strife or anything positive.

All he is interested in is power, authority and domination. He needs hate to accomplish this. By sowing anger and resentment he benefits by having a unified voting block. Unfortunately, he isn’t the one who will be hurt by this crap. He is eroding all the strides we made toward dampening racism and sexism and he is doing it intentionally. Just who in the hell do you think is going to pay for his behavior if the majority of folks in this country get fed up with being the object of hate and scorn? You Obamabots need to start using some common sense and wake up to the real world. There are real world consequences for every action and the vast majority of those don’t go according to plan.

OMG…if this is indeed what they plan to do…not even have Hillary’s name on the ballot…then this incarnation of the Democratic party is indeed dead.

    • Slim Tyranny

Why is this so “heinous”? Clinton has said that she supports Obama, and she might have NO problem not being on the ballot (like Edwards) for purely symbolic purposes.

      • beebop

Edwards the a** still has fantasies about being his VP …. not that the Breck boy should hold his breath.

            • Slim Tyranny

I was referring to the “Breck boy” reference — a lame smear aimed as emasculating yet another Democratic politician.

I don’t like that either — but I especially hate it when, for example, (1) Edwards gets insulted with stupid smears aimed at emasculating him and (2) Clinton gets demonized with sexist smears aimed at her. The “Chris Matthews” school of insults and barbs are the worst. Clinton got it the worst of the three, and I will defend all three (Obama, Clinton and Edwards) from smears.

“Breck Boy” is a stupid smear and you know it. I don’t think Clinton supporters should use that just like I think Obama supporters shouldn’t call Clinton a “b****” (which is FAR worse, in my opinion, but both are wrong).

They can kiss my a… and say godd bye to unity!!

      • Slim Tyranny

If the SDs were to change their minds en masse and back Clinton, I think we’d have some warning (that’s why Clinton suspended her campaign, to keep open the possibility). If there is no evidence of a change of heart, no “big event,” then the SDs are going to do what they’ve mostly declared — vote for Obama. This is not some grand conspiracy to thwart an SD uprising — if the SDs want Clinton, they can make it happen; that’s just not the case.

        • StrawberrybitesBarky

Bullshit. The only reason to not put Hillary’s name on the ballot is to ensure the SDs vote for Obama. Period. Otherwise put her name on the Goddamned thing and let people vote.

          • Slim Tyranny

But she has less SDs as of right now! And if nothing changes between now and Denver, she will LOSE that vote.

The SDs aren’t going to change their minds on a whim, and as of today there is no reason to change. If a reason were to come up, then it makes sense to revisit the issue.

            • StrawberrybitesBarky

Bullshit again, the SDs haven’t even voted yet and can change their minds up until the last moment. And besides I just got THE WEIRDEST CRYPTIC e-mail from Hillary’s camp about donating to her and about her “getting back to us very soon” Hmmmmmmmm. What has that wonderful, beautiful warrior goddess got up her sleeve for the Obamanations? You don’t actually think she’s been working for barky this whle time do you? There’s no way she has given up. She is one hell of a woman.

              • Slim Tyranny

Yes, the SDs CAN change their minds; however, as of right now there is no evidence that they WILL change their minds.

Just because it’s a possibility doesn’t mean it will actually happen. The SDs are not going to spontaneously change their minds at the last second based on nothing.

Your big assumption is that a change would be “based on nothing” when there are many perfectly good reasons to change to Clinton. They could change, that is obvious or they wouldn’t care if Clinton was on the ballot.

              • barborka08

Strawberry … yes , You are right.I am supporting Hillary from day# 1 in last primaries, and I do not have to change anything. She is not going anywere. DNC will be a big looser. As Independent I am frr to express my opinion better and very openly, not beying dirty, and blind!!!

              • elise

Let me see if I understand your position. Hillary Clinton, the first woman to have a chance for the nomination and with 18mil. supporters, should not be given the honor of having her name on the ballot?

It is because they are afraid she will receive the majority of votes. Period. She needs to retire her debt and if that can be done before August, her suspended campaign will be alive again.

If there is a motion to put her name on the ballot and they don’t allow a vote, I sincerely hope her delegates will walk out of the convention hall.

                • Slim Tyranny

I’m saying ASK Clinton! Maybe she doesn’t want this symbolic “honor” (maybe she doesn’t consider such a vote to be an honor at all).

She WON’T receive a majority of the votes. That is NOT why they want Obama as the sole name on the ticket.

Look, if Clinton had won, I wouldn’t want Obama on the ticket as a symbolic gesture for African Americans — I would want the Democratic Party to come out strong for the nominee, despite the close result in pledged delegates.

                  • Hope Floats

If that were the case, then she would have dropped out. I have never heard an Obama supporter doubt Hillary Clinton’s ambition before.

Hillary is entitled to have her name on the ballot like ALL other nominees. But again, I forgot the DNC is now just a group of thugs who make up the rules as they go.

Jesse Jackson went to the floor- he said something like the convention is an election- not a coronation. Why did Edwards and T. Kennedy both go to the floor? The DNC sucks butt.

That’s just so G-d damned ridiculous I don’t even know why you’re being addressed seriously. ALL candidates with delegates are put on the roll call vote. That’s how it’s been in the past, in every single primary election at every single convention. I don’t know why you Obamatrons think that not putting Clinton on the roll call would be par for the course. What do you think you idiots are doing? Is this the type of CHANGE Obama’s bringing to democracy? If so, it’s unwarranted and unneeded CHANGE. What we need is a damned roll call vote and the delegates to be cast as they were voted for and won. To suppress such is a disgusting usurpation of power by ONE candidate. It’s never been done before and it shouldn’t start now.

        • Hope

I’m sorry. Did I miss something? The first ballot does not allow for SDs, right? The conversation is about her being on the ballot at all????

I thought I read that the pledged delegates vote and if no candidate has the required number, it is then opened up to Supers. Pledged are also allowed to change their vote when? On the second vote?

Isn’t Hillary the ONLY one who can remove herself from the ballot?

          • elise

Hillary is the only one who can removed herself from the ballot, but she is not the only one who can add it. I’ve been trying to understand the DNC rules and they don’t make it easy. Any delegate can put her name up for nomination and if someone seconds, there will have to be a vote. I’ve been trying to verify superdelegates are not allowed to vote on the first round, but haven’t been able to find anything that addresses that question yet. There hasn’t been a brokered convention for years. I believe Ted Kennedy as for a vote when he ran against Carter. A contested nominating procedure is rare. Most of the history I have found indicates the nominee is selected by voice vote on the first round, but it is clear a state by state delegate count can be demanded by delegates. It all depends on Hillary’s delegates and not even necessasarily her. The voice vote is what the DNC wants, but it seems they can’t control what is happening. They will expect Hillary to control her delegates, but in terms of her supporters who have been verbally abused for over a year, it has become bigger than her election and what is going on in the DNC. Here is some information I found on wic.

“What is a “super delegate”?Who are these “super delegates” getting so much attention in the media?

Collectively, unpledged delegates are a diverse group of individuals who come from all parts of the country and all walks of life. They include grassroots activists, county Party chairs and local elected officials. About 19% of the delegates at the Convention are “unpledged” and serve as delegates because of an office they hold or have held. While unpledged delegates may as a practical matter have a presidential preference and/or even publicly endorse a candidate, officially they serve at the Convention without being formally pledged to any candidate.

Unpledged delegates were created by the Party in 1982 for the 1984 Convention. In recommending the creation of unpledged delegates the Commission on Presidential Nomination (the Hunt Commission) sought a way to more effectively bring elected official and Party leader participation back into the Convention.

Collectively, unpledged delegates are a diverse group of individuals who come from all parts of the country and all walks of life. They include grassroots activists, county Party chairs and local elected officials.”

        • speaktruth

By that reasoning, why don’t we do away with voting altogether.
For any office, just find two candidates, then do polling, and whoever is losing just drops out, since we already know who the winner is. Or maybe the two candidates can save the polling people money – they can decide among themselves what needs to be done, make a deal together, and voila – we’re saved the bother of that stupid vote. After all, voters are all uninformed and stupid anyway.
You know, that pesky voting, such a hassle. And it costs us so much money, too. Just think how else we can spend it. Democracy is such a bore. Voting is just so twentieth century. And we need change.
I guess that’s the kind of change they are referring to, that they never defined.
And those ObamaBots seriously think this makes sense. This is what we have to look forward to?
And for those people who think McCain is the answer – don’t fool yourselves. I think so many people are so disgusted with the DNC, and it’s so painful to admit we have no choices, that they are grabbing onto a fantasy about McCain.
I say this partly because I went to a link yesterday that brought me to McCain’s website. I did not want to go there. Now when I get on the Internet I go there automatically.
To me that was a signal, or reminder, since I already knew it, that McCain’s methods are as dirty as Obama’s.
Sorry, we are f–ed. The only answer I can see is for Hillary to run on a third party, which may not be possible.
Other than that we have to step in with massive protests to stop the DNC, to stop takeover of our party.
The Republicans do not care about us, are promising nothing, just four more years of Bush. Obama, same thing.
We need to make some leaders understand, if there is any hope. The present two candidates are disaster.

They are “scared” their “brand name” will be diminished. Brand names are the substitute for substance and thought, but seek Pavlovian consent.

        • Shainzona

          That’s a big YUP!

        • Hope Floats

Brand name is the only reason to vote for Obama. If you want to console yourself that you’ve voted for jackasses year after year, then “party unity” will sway your vote.

    • Lou

      We protest anyway.

    • rwc

Marxists/authoritarians are big on party “unity”. Nor surprise that this is happening.

Its also time to kill the DNC and the party as a whole.

  • Slim Tyranny

This would be a purely symbolic move; shouldn’t Clinton’s thoughts on it be taken into account before getting all worked up about it?

    • Step Beyond

If they are trying to win Clinton supporters, shouldn’t Clinton supporters’ thoughts be taken into account? Especially when you consider that they believe the DNC tried and force Clinton out over and over again and the DNC went so far as to steal delegates. So the DNC should work hard to not reinforce that perception, whether they agree it is an accurate perception or not.

The DNC seems more intent on the appearance of unity than working for actual unity.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

No, not really. The DNC has violated yet again the precedents of our party.

The smell of a coup is stronger than ever.

This will be a huge, huge, huge signal that we were right.

Obama is a third-party candidate who has taken over the Democratic label.

      The Democratic party is dead.

      • Slim Tyranny

Sorry, you’re wrong. The Democratic Party is more alive than ever, and it had a hard fought primary contest between two great candidates. Just because your preferred candidate lost does not mean the party itself has somehow “died.”

There is no coup; there is a presumptive nominee with enough delegates to win the nomination. This is no more a coup than McCain over Ron Paul.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

          Well, then…..knock off the crap.

She’s a viable candidate. Dean cannot take her off the roll-call.

          And they cannot cancel Denver.

          • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

Yes, but they could move the convention to…guess where?

            C H I C A G O

        • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

I see you’ve had a big dose of the kool-aid too. Open your eyes honey before it’s too late.

        • It’s Not Me

Hillary hasn’t lost anything yet. No votes have been cast at the convention. Perhaps you should remember that. BO is NOT the nominee until the votes are cast at the convention in AUGUST.

          • Slim Tyranny

I know that, that’s why I said “presumptive nominee.” I could have been more clear about Clinton having “lost.” For all intents and purposes, given the pledged delegate and superdelegate breakdowns and the fact that Clinton herself has suspended her campaign, Clinton appears to have lost.

We don’t have an official nominee until Denver; but something HUGE would have to happen between now and then to change the current outcome: Obama as the nominee.

Trust me, if it came out that Obama was an ax murderer, the Democratic Party would quickly and easily transition to Clinton. No one doubts that.

        • barborka08

Slimy… You are so naive and brain wash!!

          • Slim Tyranny

I prefer to get insulted by someone who can write in actual English, thanks.

        • Not a Believer

There was one viable candidate for the Democratic nomination process, Senator Clinton. Senator Obama was chosen and placed as the nominee by the DNC and the Rules Committee. If anyone does not agree, great. Please inform all of us what rule was applied to take votes and delegates from Senator Clinton from Michigan, what rule was applied to give Senator Obama all the uncommitted votes and delegates and finally, what rule was applied to give anyone any votes or delegates who’s name was not on the ballot.

When anyone can point out those three rules, I may begin to think that the DNC did not manipulate this process. Until then – Senator Clinton was and is the only viable Democratic candidate. Senator Obama was chosen by the DNC and Senator Clinton was chosen by the voters.

Prove me wrong in my analysis!!!

          • Slim Tyranny

            ?

There were actually TWO viable candidates for the Democratic nomination: Obama and Clinton. One received more pledged delegates AND superdelegates (Obama). Therefore, we have one presumptive nominee.

Look, I know it sucks to lose a close race, but it was a tough campaign, and the Democratic Party was lucky to have two great candidates.

            • NY still loves Hillary

No one has received a single Super Delegate, idiot. They vote at the convention. Why is that so friggin’ hard for you to comprehend?

BTW – if your mission is to “convert” us, you’re doing a terrible job. I think Barky should ask for a refund.

          • Havoc

In all truth Michigan and Florida should not even have been seated at the Convention. All candidates agreed on the punishment for the change of Primary date. That would include HRC. What happened at the Rules committee was an attempt to appease (damn there’s that word) the voters of Florida and Michigan. But the only way to satisfy them or HRC was to construe some magical formula that would have dissenfranchise everyone else but them. For all the vitriol of the Clintonistas the DNC should have just stuck to their guns. Spoiled Brats make me sick.

            • StrawberrybitesBarky

              We’re laughing at you. Bwahahahahahah!

            • http://deleted AnninCa

And Obama takes his name off, sets up phone banks to get the vote out for uncommitted, and then walks away with those votes plus some of hers.

And you seriously wish to call that fair-minded?

We could never co-exist in the same party.

              Glad I’m out of it.

              • Havoc

btw did the rules say that was illegal?

                • JR

Giving him those uncommitted votes was.

                • http://deleted AnninCa

Yes, it’s against the DNC charter.

            • John House

By that exact same measure South Carolina and New Hampshire shouldn’t count, either. They moved up their primaries but didn’t get penalized.

          • Natashia

I will easily prove your “analysis” wrong.

Obama had 30,000 write in votes in MI. Clinton wanted him to have nothing. You scream and shout and votes being counted but many of you so easily leave this FACT out.

That is why 4 delegates were switched from HRC to BHO.

If that was not the right way to handle it, than explained to me what SHOULD have happened to the 30,000 who took the time to write his name in?

            • Jim (Just Say No to Puppets like Bush/Obama)

BS. The uncommitted votes were claimed as his, even though some of those were for others who removed their names off the ballot. That was why a re-vote was needed.

        • C.S.

McCain didn’t steal Ron Paul’s delegates and the Republican party did not steal them for him.

You can’t win anything by stealing; you can only take what’s not yours. Obama and the Republican party pillaged our democracy to get him the nomination. Now they are competing with Republicans for the title of Destroyer of the Constitution. But even there, Bush got there first leaving Obama a second place loser.

          • Slim Tyranny

            There was no “theft,” sorry.

            • Myshiba

You are sorry (you and obo)

            • StrawberrybitesBarky

It doesn’t matter wht you think, the American people from both sides of the political isle see it as a theft. You can try it to explain the ROOLZ any way you want to, but at the end of the day, Obama got some of Hillary’s votes that HE DID NOT EARN. Average hardworking Americans do not think this is fare. It’s all about perception.

              • StrawberrybitesBarky

POO, that should read aisle…damned pain meds.

              • Slim Tyranny

A small minority sees it as “theft”; that small minority is wrong. Obama never took Clinton-earned votes

Oh, and it’s “fair,”, not “fare” — maybe cut back on those pain meds ;)

                • http://deleted AnninCa

The slime even took 4 of her earned delegates.

                  He is just slime.

He stole delegates and then announced his nomination when she cleaned the floor with him in South Dakota.

                  Blew up on him, too.

                  He just looked dumb.

              • Havoc

Your Mich and Fla delegations should have been left on the streets in Denver.

                • JR

You mean like how Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina should also be left on the streets as well? After all, they also broke the rules and held their primaries early.

        • memyself&i

John McCain received the required number of delegates to win his party’s nomination.

Neither Hillary Clinton nor Barack Obama received enough pledged delegates to win their party’s nomination. It was SDs who gave Obama the nomination.

Hillary Clinton is close enough to the required number of delegates for nomination that if enough SDs had given her their vote, she would have received the nomination. There was no scenario that could give Ron Paul the nomination.

SDs have the right to change their votes up to the date of the convention. If enough SDs changed their mind, Clinton would become the nominee. However, if you remove Hillary Clinton from the roll, you remove this possibility.

You are correct, Hillary might request that her named be removed. I doubt it though. She respects her supporters too much to take their votes and give it to someone who she knows many of them do not support. Nothing in my ballot said that Hillary, if she lost would give her vote to Obama. She will not do this with my vote.

You’re full of shit. He ran ads in Florida. Nobody else did. He feigned ignorance of how to manage media to get a pass.

He set up phone banks with Edwards to get the vote out against Hillary. That’s in direct violation.

He was begged byt MI not to take his name off. He did so for political strategy reasons and got rewarded for playing dirty.

He then turned down revotes. Even when the money was raised, he manuevered to make sure voters had no say-so.

In both FL and MI he made sure no revotes could happen.

He’s slimy, he’s dirty, and we all know it. See, in ILLinois, he pulled crap and nobody noticed.

Dean and Co. don’t want to do it because they are SCARED that superdelegates may defect from the UNELECTABLE “O” and if he doesn’t reach a majority on the first ballot (2118 or more, if MI and FL are “half” votes and 2210 or more if MI and FL are “full” votes), then chaos could ensue because according to the rules ALL delegates (pledged and unpledged) are free to vote for whomever they want on a second ballot!

Let’s raise a ruckus and make sure that HRC’s name is on that 1st ballot – let’s work to make sure that “O” doesn’t get the marjority! HRC will be the nominee in Denver, if we can keep pushing for her!!

    Takes my breath away.

    • Susaninbosque

I called Hillary’s headquarters in Wash DC – actually Va – 703 469-2008 and spoke with one of the workers there. I did not ask to speak with anyone more specific because I wanted to see what might get said off the cuff.

He indicated that Hillary’s primary goal , as they knew it (as they knew it and he emphasized that) was to pay down her debt and that legally any money sent in could not go for anything else BUT her debt.

When I suggested volunteering to call people to continue to fund raise for her to pay down the debt, he said: we have not set that up yet. We are not supporting volunteers through her website like we were before. BUT, he said – as I chatted about the weather or something – that he and the campaign had had time to rest, really rest and he expected that something would be announced in a couple of weeks. But he did not know what. When I asked what he meant, he kinda hemmed and hawwed and said that at the moment they were endorsing Obama. I told him that I hoped not too vigorously and he said something that indicated, no,not really at all.

When I asked him how the debt reduction via contributions was going he said that it was better than any of them had expected and that it was definitely definitely steadily going down and that they were very pleased.

I circled back another time to get what would/might happen in a couple of weeks because we were never going to support Obama and he said, she understands that.

I personally intend to call back every two to three days and see who I can chat with. But clearly, if we want her to be let loose – if we want her to be as aggressive as possible, then helping with the campaign debt is the first thing we can do and right now, the most significant. And she only has until the convention to pay it down with contributions.

I would suggest that a random phone call from many of us SUPPORTERS (not the idiots who seem to tread on our heels) might be of value. Certainly communication making it plain that we will never support Obama is very important. Not sure that helps, but if it does, good. And I will continue to call and continue to report back with something. But we know a couple of things:
      1) Hillary said she’d never give up and that we should never stay down or give up
      2) she is not lying on a beach somewhere getting a little change of scenery
      3) she will – as she has said – continue to fight for everyone who needs her and believes in her…. well, that’s me and I take her at her word.

Lawsuits are a waste of time.

        The DNC is above that.

They are not above voter outrage, however.

They enter into that territory with the outrageous taking away of her delegates and the MI “compromise.”

They will never get us back.

        Never.

        • Hope Floats

As we reported last week, Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA), the former chairman and now ranking minority member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, is seriously evaluating whether he should call for Congressional hearings. We know that the Senator’s political brain trust was working around the clock to analyze a response to the DNC decision. Although having no direct confirmation, we would expect Florida Governor Charles Crist and Michigan Attorney General Michael Cox, among others, were waiting for the Democrats to cast their decision into stone before considering whether they should seek judicial intervention as per Specter’s brainstorming.

Specter, probably one of the most legally astute of GOP Senators, contends the DNC is violating one of the most fundamental of all constitutional rules, that once a vote is cast it must be counted. This constitutional principle, pronounced by the United States Supreme Court since Ex parte Yarborough (1884) and reiterated as recently as Gray v. Sanders (1963), is simply beyond reproach. This rock-bottom constitutional demand applies to primaries as well as general elections. United States v. Classic (1941). Reiterating black letter law stated in Harper v. Virginia Board of Elections (1966), the high court reasserted in Bush v. Gore (2000) that “once granted the right to vote on equal terms, the State may not, by later arbitrary and disparate treatment, value one person’s vote over that of another.”

Another slap here, another slap there, a stomach blow here, a kick to balls there…are they trying to destroy the democratic party? Is Dean trying to lose the GE? I’m beginning to think he is, just to avoid a convention fight that could lead to violence by deranged Obama supporters. That way we will ‘hopefully’ come together in 2012 after Barky crashes and burns come November.

      NOTHING

One lone Obama as I was driving back on the interstate (young WOMAN inside) 10 yr old Subaru wagon.

You are so right Dawnelle, remember when Kerry had it all locked up? Bumper stickers, yard signs, buttons everywhere…even in my republican/military neck of the woods. Did some down south jukin’ this weekend. Drove I-95
from Washington DC to Fayetteville, NC (home of Ft Bragg
and the 82nd Airborne). Just for fun, I decided to count the
politico bumper stickers. On the way down south on Thurs,
I counted ONE Oblowme yard sign btw/ my point of origin
and the interstate, and, aside from the one car w/ Illinois
tags, only one Obama bumper sticker on a Toyota Prius.
I saw 3 or 4 Bush bumper stickers and 1 McCain bumper sticker.

On the return trip, I saw the same Prius plus one other Obama
          sticker. One more McCain sticker.

Seems to me about this time in 04 on the same trip, I saw more Kerry stickers than Bush but substantially more than only 2 or 3 for
          either candidate.

    RE:

    Comment by Slim Tyranny | 2008-06-16 12:35:33

“This would be a purely symbolic move; shouldn’t Clinton’s thoughts on it be taken into account before getting all worked up about it?”

Because the symbolism extends to the millions of women that voted for Senator Clinton, it is beyond her in a sense. The symbolic vote should be held to honor women, a voting bloc which the DNC used to care about.

    • Slim Tyranny

That’s a fair point, but if Clinton herself thinks that a more politically crucial symbolism is one of party unity, then shouldn’t we at least find that out from her? I can think of other ways to honor Clinton’s historic campaign than a symbolic vote, and maybe Clinton can, too.

      • Step Beyond

But Clinton has already endorsed Obama. Clinton is unified with the Dems currently, it’s the people who aren’t that need to be considered. In fact, I think it would be a mistake to even have Clinton come out and have her name removed from the ballot.

People who feel that Clinton wasn’t treated fairly are just going to think that Clinton is a loyal Dem so she is doing what the Dems ask. That isn’t going to make her supporters unify. In fact, since it continues to play into the narrative that the DNC has been rigging the election towards Obama, it will harm unity more than help. So the DNC needs to not do it.

It doesn’t matter if they vote. Obama has the delegates he needs to win. Forcing a false unanimous vote doesn’t fool anyone and can only further a negative perception that already exists.

        • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

Yes, and that “endorsement” if you can call it that, was with a political gun to her head, locked and loaded.

Every other Democratic convention has had the “false” unanimous vote with male candidates who had a heck of a lot less delegates than Hillary.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

If they pull this? They will turn her into the Martyr of our Lifetime.

Every nerve ending in every Clinton supporter will twang so loudly, that they will turn stay-at-home voters into bona fide “agin you” voters.

And Latinos, Catholics and even a few agnostics will be praying over rosaries all over America about this woman has been so mistreated.

          Are they that stupid?

          Perhaps.

They have been pretty darn stupid so far. Why would I doubt they could be this stupid?

Go ahead. Nail her to the cross.

          You idiots.,

          • Step Beyond

            Exactly.

There is nothing to be gained from not allowing the vote and yet so much to be lost. But at this point in time, I no longer doubt the stupidity of the DNC.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

I think he’d do just that in a heartbeat.

          Obama is a snake.

He’ll do whatever it takes to win.

          • Havoc

Wouldn’t you if you believed in what you stand for?

            • mahaska

Oh now you’ve done it. Just what exactly does that weasel stand for? Nobody can ever get a straight answer. One day it’s one thing and the next dAy it’s another.

            • JR

Are you for real? So using your logic, Hitler was justified because fascism and genocide was what he believed in.

If your belief destroys everything in the process, then it was never worth standing up for to begin with. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Obots are desperate for anything to believe in, so they project onto Mr. Hope and Change, and pray or hope that it turns out to be true and not a big scam. Unfortunately, it is a scam. Some Obamabots are too afraid to entertain the notion that it is a scam because it would be too depressing. Well, that’s the world we live in today.

      • POdVet

How about the fact that at the accreditations committee, they are expecting to fully seat Florida and Michigans delegates. Clinton can also challenge the Michigan decision by the RBC as it clearly violated several of the DNC’s rules. Caucus results could also be challenged as there are widespread reports of fraud. Thats why they don’t want Clinton’s name to even be on the ballot, because she could legitimately take over the pledged delegate lead if it is. If that happened Obama’s only chance would be in the 2nd round of voting with a mass of his bribed SD’s putting him over the top.

Those you see following the Obamessiah are not Democrats, though the species may try to look similar. They are in fact nothing but JACKASSES!
        P.U.M.A.

      • street_parade

If Clinton supports NOT having her name on the ballot, then I’ve lost respect for her as well. This was an historic run…a hell of a lot MORE historic than Obama’s. ONE – Jesse Jackson, Sr. already made a viable run for the nomination in 1988. TWO – there are a helluva lot more women in this country than there are African-Americans.

A lesson for our daughters…for sure, a SHAMEFUL one.

        • Dawnelle

          I totally agree with you.

If they FORCE her or she AGREES to it I will be very disappointed.

I think they should be kissing her butt for being so agreeable up to THIS POINT.

After all BHO broke the rules in FLA, broke the rules in MI, was awarded DELEGATES for BREAKING THE RULES which said if you take your GDAM NAME off the ballot you get ZERO DELEGATES

JEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZus are they past BRAIN DEAD??? It’s their OWN GDAM RULEZ

          ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHh!

Hillary has been too nice. If she bitched about it the boys would all gang up on her (of course) and call her sour grapes……. FK THAT!

Who cares what a small group of snobby snot nosed elite posers think………..

      • Lou

She does not think party unity is important right now since she still is in the game and is a viable candidate.. She said so on a you tube after her Monatana campaign. All we are seeeing is what they forced her to say. I hope she stays incognito and have someone else speak for her if needed. I don’t want the pundits bashing her again for ratings. She has just under 1700 pledged delegates and he has a little more than 1700 pledged delegates. No one has enough delegates to be the nominee. Just because he has more delegates, that make him the presumed nominee? Man they think we are stupid huh?

      • blueasthesky

Hillary’s delegates are going to want to go to the convention, put her name in nomination, making pretty speeches as they do, perhaps pointing out that Hillary Clinton had more people voting for her than any candidate in history. You can understand why Obama might not want people reminded of that fact.

If Obama (Dean is simply following orders, I’m sure) wants to abandon this tradition, expect a backlash among the delegates.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

          Pretty speeches?

Take a look at the state-by-state polls.

          Show me his support.

          He’s losing.

He’s nose-to-nose with McCain. Good golly, Republicans don’t even like McCain, and he’s still nose-to-nose.

      • wry

Oh Shut up. I don’t want to hear one more (or read one more) damned word from Barky’s supporters talking about “honoring” Clinton. If you knew anything about honor, or respect, we wouldn’t have a fractured party now would we?

And the party is in trouble…we should be up 20 points by now!

We are in the midst of a HELLISH unpopular war and Barky is barely leading McCain, a known hawk?

It’s because he never should’ve had the audacity to run. He’s a damned empty suit and he scares people, even people who hate war.

And don’t say it’s because people are racist. The fact that this country is excited by the possibility of a Black President accounts for at least 10 points for Barky. A white guy with his non existent experience would still be in Springfield doing shady deals.
He beat Alan Keyes for God’s sake! I could beat Alan Keyes…

wry, you couldn’t have said it better. The truth is, that none of his suppporters listen to us. They drink thier Kool-Aid, and try to convince us how great Obama is. But to really look into the empty suit and ask questions is unthinkable. This is not about race, or anything else! It’s about who is best for the job, period. It’s no differant than a hospital hirirng a doctor who never went to med school. Or a doctor who never showed up for a appiontment to see his paitents! It’s about trust, not Dem or Reb. We do not trust Obama to be Commander in Chief. He will hold all America in his hands, if he is elected. Thats scary………..

It has nothing to do with symbolism.

This would be the FIRST time in Party history that this was done. Why?

It’s simply an insult. Especially since she is the first woman.

They are making a departure from tradition along with every other offensive nasty deed they shoved our way.

      Get it through your heads:

Coward Dean doesn’t give a flying fuck about what we think!

Without coming out and saying the words, he’s told us all to:

      FUCK OFF!

The fact that we aren’t donating money and things are going all wrong only makes him more determined to steamroll us.

That legendary Howard Scream from 2004 that we all sympathized with him over because it seemed the media had mercilessly attacked him, well,

      WE WERE WRONG!

      He is absolutely that crazy!

It’s a good thing this crazy fucker didn’t get to be President.

      America should count herself lucky.

So much for women and breaking the glass ceiling. I guess we know now how they REALLY feel about us and our votes. They don’t give a shit.

  • Mr. X

Wow! This is really sick shit what the DNC is doing.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

      No kidding. It’s outrageous.

But….the good news is that we have a clear focus now.

      This is unacceptable. Yet again.

But this is something to write about to SDs, the DNC, and it will give PUMA and WomenCountToo, and NODeal a focal point.

This is absolutely and clearly another violation by Obama.

Can someone call the Federal Election Commission and find out what is gong on?

    • rjj

Great research, Pagan. This is tantamount to insult upon injury. It just never ends with the “Win by Hook or Crook” DNC. I am so ashamed of my Party. We were better than the RNC…until this Primary season, when Howard Dean decided to be worse than the RNC (only against 1/2 of his own Party).

  • Tricia

This is another slap in the face to women and all Hillary Supporters

Pretty much par for the course for “Der Fuhrer” Howard Dean.

But what about the “whitey” tape, Larry? Today, Rush Limbaugh is pretty much saying you’re full of shit.

Are you still standing by this rumor you started?

    If so, let us know.

    If not, why not?

    • beebop

Rush is stirring the pot. And why all of a sudden are trolls listening to Limbaugh? Payoff for all of the money the Republican party put in to Barry’s primary coffers that isn’t showing up for the General Election? hahahahahahaha

The “typical trolls” are lying anyway, because I just got finished listening to Rush for the past hour and I didn’t hear mention of that tape. At least not from 1pm-2pm. He did talk about Obama being a dumb ass offering tax credits to men who do what they are supposed to do and pay their damn child support. He did talk about that. Did you hear that part “typical troll”?

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Interesting. I only listen when I’m driving. But I do know Larry’s story got top billing this week in LA.

Everybody is talking about the “tape.” LOL*

        Cracks me up.

There’s no way a rumor gets legs unless it’s expected.

Even the Vanity Fair article about Bill didn’t make a real dent. Nobody bought it.

Bill’s dedication to Hillary is clear. The article failed to dent the actions of Bill, and the author ends up looking like a schmucky gossipper, which he is.

People pay attention to real actions more than pundits realize.

    • Hope Floats

Who cares what fat ass says? Larry never claimed to have seen the tape. He had first, second and third-hand accounts and tried to get whoever has this tape, if it exists, to come forward before the Dems commit political suicide and nominate Obama.

  • http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com TexasDarlin

Pagan, thanks. You’d think one of those hifalutin well-paid reporters could call the DNC and get this information but per the norm, it takes a BLOGGER to get the real news out.

  • reallybad

Obama just gave HRC the biggest “fuck you” by hiring Patti Solis Doyle to his VP selection’s Chief of Staff.

Given how Patti wrecked HRC’s campaign by 1) ignoring the caucus states 2) completely mismanging the campaign funds and 3) not telling HRC the campaign was $11M in debt until two days before HRC fired her.

It is very clear the Obama is NOT going to pick HRC for VP.

Not a chance that I will vote for this arrogant jerk.

    • Susaninbosque

It seems to me that she has been on his payroll since before 2008 and was there to do what she succeeded in doing which is the obvious. She’s from Chicago and well….. there were rumors that she was involved with his campaign from Feb. It’s his kind of operation.

    • Lou

Patii Solis Doyle had never worked on a campaign before she worked for Hillary and she shafted Hillary. She spent over 100 million of Hillary campaign money on 2 states. Let him have her. She was fired! She’s incompetent just like Obama is. Birds of a feather flock together. She is whoring for another rung on her failed ladder. Makes you wonder if she and Mark Penn were paid by Obama campaign to run a weak campaign for Hillary. Makes you wonder if they set Hillary up to lose. But Hillary fought hard for us and she came out the winner anyway once we all helped with the grassroots. If Democracy were to prevail, Hillary would be the actual nominee. To hell with this presumptive crap.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Well, Hillary hired her. So it’s ultimately Hillary’s mistake. Ditto for Penn.

That part of the criticism of Hillary’s campaign I accept.

She was, as reported, a lot better than her campaign.

But what I liked is that she solved the problem, and she did so with minimal damage.

That’s why I supported her and still do.

Obama’s problem solving of his Wright problem? Man, that was sloppy as heck.

He’s still burping up over that one.

I think Wright was the end of his legitimacy.

        Just my opinion.

But I think that’s why he didn’t get the expected bump and won’t. That’s why his polls in NC even after he won show Hillary ahead in the polls. Definitely, McCain will take NC now.

I think his mishandling of Wright, versus her handling of Penn and Patti, is exactly why the public will reject him.

He has not run a good campaign. He ran a campaign based on being the AA guy who needed a break. Americans love the underdog.

However, he’s not able to transition into the frontrunner.

He can’t play the underdog card anymore.

        He’s a lousy front-runner.

And Axelrod’s offer of meeting McCain on July 4th???????????

Oh man, that’s a mistake. That is just a scared frontrunner position.

He will be the laughing stock of America if he truly goes on his world tour photo op and ditches campaigning.

He’s even losing the states he won, nevermind the states he promised to turn blue.

Obama is about to become what AA voters most feared.

        A joke.

        • Northwest rain

          Obama — the joke.

Dean and the DNC: Breathtakingly Stupid.

  • KarenAnn

I called the DNC and the young lady I spoke with in the chairman’s office said that the roll call would be conducted as it always has. So I said if that was the case, then Sen Clinton’s, since she has not released her delegates, could still vote for her on the roll call. She said that the DNC expected Sen clinton to release her delegates to BO since he was the presumptive nominee. I said ‘presumptive’ was the operative word. She said that he had reached the number of pledged delegates that he needed to secure the nomination. I said that had not, that the SDs put him over the top. She said that I was wrong, and that she was sorry that I did not like the result but, basically tough s_ _ _. i said that I disagreed with the process, that it was a predetermined outcome. She said ‘have a nice day’.
And so it goes. Basically, if they can keep her off the roster so she gets no votes on the roll call they will,

    • It’s Not Me

      She’s a damn liar.

NEITHER candidate has the required PLEDGED DELEGATES to win the nomination. Everyone in the media knows this. Everyone in the media is LYING about this “process.”

Hillary has 1923 TOTAL Delegates (Pledged and Supers)
      1637 = PLEDGED DELEGATES
      286 = SUPER DELEGATES

      BO has 2156 TOTAL DELEGATES
      1762 = PLEDGED DELEGATES
      394 = SUPER DELEGATES.

As you can see, which is clear to anyone with a brain, NEITHER CANDIDATE HAS THE REQUIRED 2118 PLEDGED DELEGATES. BO IS NOT THE NOMINEE.

They’re trying to pull the wool over your eyes again. Now that every state and territory has voted, NEITHER CANDIDATE CAN WIN ENOUGH PLEDGED DELEGATES TO BE THE NOMINEE AND THAT IS WHY THEY CHANGED THE 2118 PLEDGED DELEGATES TO include Super Delegates in the TOTAL COUNT.

DO NOT BE HOODWINKED AND BAMBOOZLED.

      • Hope Floats

            • Northwest rain

Exactly — Barky will lose — it will be the biggest defeat in history. The DNC is going against the will of the voters.

I hope that voters in Poopolosi’s district will vote her OUT!

When the DNC is defeated (defeat Barky = defeat DNC) — THEN the current DNC and Democratic party will be dead. Hold a funeral and then restock the democratic-democrat party with real Americans who believe in Democracy.

          • Hope Floats

Maybe we can get some libertarians on board with the fiscal conservatives / Independents. I spent the morning reading up on economic advisers. Don Luskin is advising McCain. He has a blog, and he gave reasons to vote for McCain.

It’s a question of game theory, and whether you consider yourself a passive player or an active player in the game. As a passive player, that is, a mere voter, it probably doesn’t matter what you do. Unless there is a perfect tie without you, your vote is irrelevant. If you are a passive player who wants to make a “statement,” then you should cast your symbolic vote for Barr or Paul (unless the statement you want to make is that you think that Obama is so bad, you will vote for an imperfectly libertarian McCain, in which case McCain’s very imperfections add power to your symbolic snub of Obama).

As an active player, that is, someone who hopes to influence what the candidate’s policies will be, you want to exert that influence over a candidate who has a chance of winning. Why waste your input on someone with no chance? Further, as an active player, you want to give advice to someone who needs it. Paul doesn’t need my advice. He’s already a libertarian. But maybe I can nudge McCain a little in that direction.

              A different kind of refund
Posted: Friday, June 06, 2008 2:12 PM by Mark Murray
              Filed Under: 2008, Clinton

              From NBC’s Jim Popkin

When Clinton officially drops out of the race tomorrow, thousands of donors who contributed to her general-election war chest soon will be entitled to a refund. Under federal election law, Sen. Clinton must either refund the donations or, within 60 days, must write to each general-election donor requesting their permission to use the funds for her future Senate or (gasp) perhaps presidential campaigns.

Thousands of well-heeled Clinton fans will be entitled to rebates. As of the end of April, Clinton had collected $23.7 million for the general election, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Many of those hardcore donors gave the maximum, or $2,300 each for the primary and general elections, and might welcome a $2,300 refund check this summer. But presumably most will encourage Sen. Clinton to hold on to the money, to battle on another day.

Hillary Clinton loaned her campaign a stunning $11.4 million, and could conceivably be able to use some of her general-election leftovers to pay off that debt. Here’s how the Center for Responsive Politics explained the law in an article in January:

“To pay off debts from their primary campaigns, candidates can tapgeneral-election funds from contributors who didn’t max out in the primary, with the donor’s permission. If, for example, Hillary Clinton doesn’t make it to the general election season, she’ll have to go back to the donors who’ve given her at least $16.7 million toward November’s election and get their permission to use it to pay off primary debts, transfer it to her Senate committee or use it in a future presidential campaign.”

There will be some long faces tomorrow at the National Building Museum in Washington, when Senator Clinton finally bows out. For a few in the crowd, though, the prospect of a $2,300 refund check may help ease the pain.

      • ferret

I’ve wondered what the Clintons have been doing. They never totally drop out of site. It may be Hillary wanted to see how this was going to play out, on both sides, before she makes a move.

I don’t think I buy this retire her debt story.

First of all, it’s too penny-ante.

Most of the “hard debt,” meaning not to consultants, etc., has been paid already. There won’t be any vendors left hanging.

Now, we’re talking about Penn debt and other “soft” debt. They don’t need to be paid in full. Particularly not Penn. LOL*

I’m going to wait it out, Texas. See what happens.

I’d definitely buy a chicken dinner if Hill comes to LA and talks about the campaign.

But I’m not going to jump on this story.

She’s got money. It’s in the GE account.

I’m going to wait and see if she can finagle this.

Everyone needs to go to Heidi li blog to donate to make a statement. Lawyer Heidi thinks it’s an important statement to make to the DNC if Hillary is still getting lots of contributions. This will be a huge statement. Please help “retire the debt”.
They can use that an excuse to keep her out if she is in debt.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

I don’t agree. Once Hillary learned to ask, she did so directly.

This email says nothing about retiring her debt or asking.

          I don’t agree.

I’m not donating. Hillary is direct. This is indirect.

I do not agree that retiring her debt is even relevant.

          If she asks directly?

          I’ll buy it.

          Not yet.

Dean’s name was placed in nomination, so what?

As DNC chair, Dean has an entirely different role to play than as presidential candidate Dean.

    • Madam DeFarge

Whatever Dean’s role, he can be counted on to make an ass out of himself.

AMEN to that … people don’t change personality just because they get a fancy new title!

This is ASTOUNDING. The ONLY woman to EVER run a viable campaign for President NOT on the first ballot at the convention coronation. The Democratic party doesn’t give a sh&t about women or women’s achievements…never has and never will. The Democratic party needs women to provide votes….and an ass to be slapped (a la Michelle) other than that we can go to hell.

Every day they give us more and more reason to vote McCain. What are they doing? What an embarrassing disaster of a party. Good riddance to rubbish.

  • No to B.O.= Body Odor & B. Obama

You do know why they are so hell-bent on pulling an “Alice Palmer in Chicago” on Hillary at the convention and keeping her name off, right? Why are they so afraid to let Hillary’s pledged delegates actually vote for her as the people voted, or trying dramatically to replace all pledged delegates with rabid Obama supporters? If party unity really was the cause, why not get rid of all other candidates’ names on the ballot too, including Kucinich, Edwards, etc.? Because those guys don’t have a chance, but Hillary does.

Because what the media refuses to let you know is that:
    1) Superdelegates vote by SECRET-BALLOT!!! They are thus immune to Obama’s threats and disgusting tactics since they can pledge undying support for Obama, then go and mark Hillary on the ballot and NO ONE will ever know! Immune to the pressures of Dean, Pelosi, Reid, et al – as the writers of the DNC Constitution intended, as this is the only way they can truly vote their conscience and for the best of the party, by not being under duress. Given that 200 uncommitted superdelegates held out until the end, and seeing that Hillary needs just about 200 supers to give her the majority, they know the convention could still give the vote to Hillary, especially once the whitey tape comes out or Obama is indicted for the Rezko case. People will surely see then how truly unelectable Obama is and will vote secretly for Hillary – they know a popular presidential candidate can dramatically help down-ballot candidates like them – and if there’s one thing they know, it’s self-preservation.

    2) After the first ballot, ALL (this includes pledged) delegates are released of their bind to who their state elected and are free to vote for whomever they want – this means Obama won delegates in certain states, especially red states, can choose to vote for Hillary and vice versa. This is why Obama is hell-bent on making sure ALL pledged delegates are his rabid supporters, and has been systematically kicking delegates who support Clinton out even if they were elected in their district by others who worked feverishly in this campaign season for democrats. This was what Wager and Ausman were debating about over email – and why Wag threatened Ausman, who wanted to keep the delegates as chosen, but Wag wanted them replaced by die-hard Obama supporters, so they wouldn’t flip in case the first ballot didn’t give a majority to anyone.

And this is why Hillary must fight to keep her name on the ballot and we must support her. They are attempting to play Chicago ballot games at the DNC convention. Do you respect Democracy? Do you still believe in the words of our founding fathers? Do you still believe in the Constitution? If so, do everything you can to make sure Obama does not cheat his way into the nomination. Keep democracy alive!

    • Darryl

      Oh wow.

    • Denis Mueller

It is the Clinton supporters who do not believe in democracy. Who leads in the election? Who won the most delegates? Who has won the popular vote? If you believe Clinton then you have to believe that he would not have had any votes in Michigan. have you ever heard of Detroit. I guess you racists do not think the black vote counts.

      • StrawberrybitesBarky

You know Denis, the ‘everybody’s a racist’ talking point has worn out its welcome, its just background noise now. ‘Cause if everybody’s a racist then guess what sweetie, nobody’s a racist.

Here’s the deal, she won the most votes. He won the most delegates. It’s a virtual tie on both counts. NEITHER of them has the number of pledged delegates to win. BOTH of them are dependent on superdelegates to win. Superdelegates are NOT pledged, they can change their vote up until the roll call is called.

If she is not on that ballot for the first roll call it will be an INSULT, an AFFRONT, a SLAP IN THE FACE, a KICK IN THE GUT to ALL women. This is the ONLY WOMAN EVER to make a serious run for the Presidency. EVER.

Let me ask you a question sweetie, if the shoe were on the other foot — what do you think black people would do??????? Let me know your answer okay sweetie?

      • memyself&i

This election revealed the outdated and undemocratic method the Democratic Party uses to select nominees. Neither candidate received enough pledged delegates to cross the finish line. The decision of the super delegates decided the nomination. Enough of them preferred Obama to give him the nomination. You can say they are legally allowed to do that under the rules, but you cannot say it is democratic. At the end of the day, the nominee was decided by top party insiders.

If you believe the Democratic party’s own charter – these are inflexible, iron-clad rules – Uncommitted is a legitimate vote cast. It cannot be given away.

Obama voluntarily removed his name from the ballot in Michigan, against the rules, to thwart Michigan’s primary where Clinton was favored and to pander to Iowa voters. You people are so unfuckingbelievably strupid. I seriously wonder if you really do drink some kind of brain-dumbing koolaid. Can you be that uninformed about simple rules?

The replaced delegates were in FL. They were pledged to Obama, but were representative of GLBT party members, as required by DNC policy. Obama wanted them replaced with VERY, VERY pro-Obama delegates, because the GLBT delegates were not considered a sure thing.

He told me he got the position because he bailed out the Republicans from their “Washington Bank,” which was going under and which had handed out loans to those guys right and left.

      It was pretty interesting.

He knew that the S&L Debacle was across the board.

Ditto for the home mortgage crisis.

But then, we all knew this, didn’t we?

    • beebop

My feeling is that MO isn’t the only one saying “give me something” in the Democratic party. The Dems have corruption issues a la cash in the freezer at all levels. This is why impeachment came of the table. In a tis for tat, the Democratic party would be revealed (and reviled) for selling out the “little” people it says it represents. The bundlers for Obama are throwing money at him to keep from being investigated. FOLLOW THE MONEY has never meant more than this campaign!

  • Angela

I just called the DNC and was told that there WILL BE a roll call vote and Hillary’s delegates will get to vote for her. I have read or seen nothing that supports this other than what this woman just said on the phone. I would encourage others to call 1-202-863-8000 and ask the same question, if there will be a roll call and if her delegates will have the opportunity to vote for her because I still don’t believe it.

    • It’s Not Me

I would think Hillary’s campaign people would know whether her name will be on the ballot or not. I would trust them before I would ever trust what the DNC people say.

      • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

no ones name is on the ballot until the convention it is all a game to distract and cause Hillary delegates from showing up in Denver.

The delegates choose who is on the ballot, not Dean or anyone else, those are the rules!

Same thing as for VP, Barry or Hillary can choose a nominee, but delegates at the convention decide who will actually be the VP nominee for VPOTUS not the nominee for POTUS.

You know. I got a call to action from HRC supporters in my area to email Dean about this and I got a response back “from him” (who knows who typed it) and he says it’s a rumor and everyone’s name will be on the ballot, but dare I believe anything out of that lying snake’s mouth? Here is what he said to me in the email (copied and pasted straight from such…including his typo):

“This is a false rumor. There will be a roll call. Please help us stop this rumor. Thjank you! Howard Dean”

Now, either he’s lying or somebody in that article is lying. I’m more inclined to believe it’s him. I never even responded to his email because I thought I might mistakenly curse him out and that really wouldn’t have helped anything.

You know, Obama packed my caucus, sweet-talked Repubs. into voting for him in the primaries, gamed the DNC Rules and Regs, moved the DNC to Chicago (supposedly overnight), and will probably game the convention. He sat and voted “present” while Hillary was subjected to incredible abuse. He ridiculed her, gave her”the finger” and snarked his way through the primaries. It’s over for me. Obama said, “And I’d say Senator Clinton looked in her element.” He paused. Then he raised his right hand and scratched his cheek with his middle finger. He smiled slightly, and the crowd cheered.

The Baltimore Sun and Chicago Tribune agreed with the LA Times, the crowd at the Raleigh NC event and the countless YouTube viewers.

All I know is that this is unbelieveable and outrageous. Is there a lawyer who can address this? No guys, DON’T RIOT!!! It is too dangerous as the police in Denver are receiving a 50 million dollar grant to buy equipment for some rather unorthodox ways of crowd control. Peaceful protests and using your vote and pocketbook to send a message, as well as contacting media, writing op-eds, letters to editors, talk to friends, give them evidence, etc is WAY more effective – and will protect you.

These morons wanting riots just want you out of the way to clear a line for Obama (remember Odinga?). They are the angry, disaffected youth who want violent revolution after watching their crazy movies and playing those videogames, they are just itching to be able to act it out in real life here at home. My advice to you crazies who want to kill – go enlist in Iraq, I guarantee you will see violence galore and be able to participate. And we definitely need all the troops we can get.

Iraq was a dreadful detour for the personal preference of some crooked OIL MEN. bad bad bad bad!

We will suffer for decades for that ill advised right turn – as sure as I am typing this…. our integrity and honor is like a dirty coat of armor

Hillary COULD have shined it back up. Instead they just brought/bought someone in to match the inside as tarnished as the out side

        My suggesting to Hillary’s delegates:

is to VOTE for Hillary and THEN WALK OUT! Peacefully LEAVE!

Go to a funeral for the Democrat Party. And then go shopping, out to dinner or whatever.

        VOTE and then LEAVE!

There is no need for any violence — be peaceful and dignified.

SHUN the DNC — turn your backs on the DNC.

    • Lou

One of the long time PUMAS emailed me..thought I’d pass it on.

I just saw Will Bower’s press release for JustSayNoDeal and think we
have the clout now to act successfully. The organization structure is
finally taking root, but we should act fast before the window of
      opportunity closes.

As you know, the DNC has handed over the Dem Party apparatus on the
claim that Obama’s the nominee when he’s not. (Check their website
http://www.democrats.org.) He didn’t get enough pledged delegates. The
Supers can’t vote till August. It’s June. He’s not the nominee, so the
transfer of the headquarters and control can be challenged.

Of course, what makes this whole Barack is the Nominee deception work
publicly is Sen. Clinton’s endorsement. Despite being coerced and worn
down, she was wrong to give it, and part of the pressure campaign has
to call on her to reverse it. (Otherwise the DNC will just send her
out to the cameras to condemn the whole campaign.)

      1. The DNC cannot be dragging
Florida and Michigan through a year of hell over violating the rules
and then do exactly the same thing with impunity. 2. Sen. Clinton
promised she’d stay in the race until there’s a nominee, and there
isn’t one. So her endorsement is unacceptable

And of course, she knows what
the DNC did disenfranchised 18 million voters.

I left some pertinent information out to protect the base.
Just that we have to remember how smart our girl is. Hint.

      • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

I have to believe that Hillary knows much, much more about all this than we do. I agree with a previous poster that she has not been relaxing on a beach since nobama attempted to carry out this coup.

At the moment of her last speech, she HAD NO CHOICE but to say what she did. She has had time to reflect and to gather additional info.

I’ll be very interested to see what she has to say.

DNC Rules for Nominations for candidates for POTUS at the convention page 20 and 21, Dean has no authority to place any name or take any name on or off a ballot:

    6. Nomination of the Democratic Candidate for President: The Permanent Chair shall
receive nominations from the floor for the Democratic candidate for the Office of
President of the United States in the following manner:

    a. Requests to nominate a presidential candidate shall be in writing and shall have affixed thereto the written approval of the proposed nominee and the name of the individuals who shall be recognized to make the nominating and seconding speeches on behalf of a presidential candidate and shall be delivered to the Convention Secretary at a location as specified by the Secretary no later than 6:00 p.m. of the day preceding the day designated for the commencement of presidential nominations.

    b. Each such request must be accompanied by a petition indicating support for the proposed nominee signed by delegates representing not less than 300 or more than 600 delegate votes, not more than 50 of which may come from one (1) delegation. A delegate may not sign more than one (1) nominating petition for president and for vice president.

Dean has no authority to put names on or take them off a ballot, ballots are determined at the convention, Dean is stating Bambi lies to derail Clinton delegates from going to Denver, DO NOT FALL FOR THESE OBAMA TACTICS PEOPLE, THEY ARE BS

Mel, this is great, thanks for posting.

Pagan, great piece and how very disturbing but not surprising.

I think this primary has been FIXED for sometime now. All the caucuses, the RBC, the move from DC to Chicago. Obama is the puppet, as are Dean et al.

      Here’s the billion dollar question:

      Who’s the puppeteer?

      • rjj

The RNC. It’s a hostile takeover.

It’s another nail in the coffin. Too bad we can’t drive it through the DNC’s heart. But who knows? Maybe we will.

Oh my God, I just got the email from Hillary too!! Oh gosh, I wish she would decide to run as an independent! That would be music to my ears!! Why did she say, “I’ll be in touch soon.”???? Listen up “typical trolls”! Never count a tough woman out! Never! However, if she gets in touch talking about some running as BHOs VP, seeing as how he can’t seem to find anybody who wants to take it.

    • Destardi

As much as I love Hillary, don’t read too much into her closing…

In touch soon, probably means she’ll be out saying some more obligatory nice things about barackula.

      :(

It’s a goddamn shame that SHE is forced to play by the rules, and traditions…while obama pisses all over them, and then calls foul when Hillary tries to fight back.

      • StrawberrybitesBarky

Nah, my female bits say there’s something brewing…there’s a storm on the way. I’ve never seen anything like this in the 25 years I’ve been a democrat. That was a wink, wink, nod, nod from Hillary. Stay tuned.

        • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

I agree Strawberry. This email was just too weird. If she was going to say something to try to get us to support nobama, then this would be the perfect time.

Instead, she directed us over to a very nice photo album which highlights in pic and some words, why she is the best candidate and ends with a fantastic photo of the crowd in her last speech.

          Methinks there is something brewing…

          • http://www.sugarnspice.typepad.com Sugar

Yeah, I think so too and I’m sure that email was written that way expressly to let us know that she’s working on something…time will tell.

She need cash to retire her debt. That’s what the email is about. It’s her ace in the hole to be rid of it. Please help out with it. Heidi li blog to donate and be sure Hill gets it.

  • Dosha

Here we go, I just called the DNC Office @ 202-863-8000 and asked to speak to someone who can confirm or deny Hillary will be or won’t be included on the first ballot at the convention. I was transferred to a young woman named Melissa and she told me that, “No this is not true, Hillary’s name will be on the first ballot for a vote at the convention.” I also quizzed her about the preference of Howard Dean and whether he wants such a vote to occur and she said no he is not opposed. Now, I have to add that I told her that I and my hubby are both democrats at this time and we are heavily leaning to changing our party affiliation but would prefer not to.

Take from this what you will, but I say, everyone should call, because it seems, if “Melissa” was honest with me, that they are getting a lot of calls and feedback pushing their butts against the wall, just a theory mind you.

And angels can sing, but there is no way in the universe that I will now or ever vote for Barry O.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Thanks for calling, Melissa. I’m breathing again.

When Senator Clinton gets “in touch with us soon” as she promises in her e-mail, I hope it’s to tell us she will run as a third party candidate. Imagine the consternation that would cause in BO’s coup camp.

    • It’s Not Me

I would LOVE IT if Hillary ran as an Independent! I’d work my behind off for her. She owes the Democratic Party NOTHING now. They have disrespected her and Bill like nothing I’ve ever seen before. She needs to change to Independent and run with it!

      • Dawnelle

Me too!! I’m a newly unaffiliated voter! I’d LOVE to cast my first vote for a truly viable INDEPENDENT candidate if that were HILLARY!

    • John House

What I find weird is that the majority of her supporters sent her emails telling her to not give up and take it to the convention. etc., the few days before she gave her “stepping aside” speech. I really can’t imagine that the majority of her supporters, when asked “what should I do?” would tell her to step aside for Obama. Just doesn’t make sense. She’s got to’ve listened to her supporters, and that adds fuel to the idea that she might have something up her sleeve.

  • indigo

This is how Obama does things. He had his opponent eliminated from the ballot in his Illinois election on some technicality so he could run unopposed. With him, we are seeing the eroding of our democracy. We need to do everything possible to get this out into the media and let every American know what outrageous tactics are taking place.

  • Tommy

Even if Hillary fails to have her name on the ballot this issue should be a ‘NO BRAINER”.

People that are true American will not vote for Obama anyway….. DNC aka Howard Dean is corrupt.

Some of you that are not aware the DNC not only denied Florida and Michigan but now Obama says he will allow all the delegates to be seated.

HOW DAMN NICE OF HIM AFTER HE BOUGHT THE DNC AKA HOWARD DEAN. Isn’t Obama just really a lovely piece of work?

The RBC argued that Florida broke the rules and therefore must be penalized. In 2000, the Republicans argued that certain counties didn’t follow the rules and therefore those votes should not be recounted.

The DNC decided to penalize both Florida and Michigan for holding their primaries early, even though four other states also violated the DNC rules, yet these states did not have to pay a penalty, click here to view DNC Delegate Selection Rules pdf.http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com/2008/06/15/was-the-2008-democratic-primary-election

While the DNC rules allowed for Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina to hold their elections ahead of schedule, the rules stated the following:

Iowa was not suppose to hold its election before Jan 5, 2008, it was held on Jan 3.
New Hampshire was not suppose to hold its election before Jan 22, it was held on Jan 8.
South Carolina was not suppose to hold its election before Jan 29, it was held on Jan 26.

Only Nevada held its election within the time frame outlined by the DNC rules.

The RBC chose a completely different path for penalizing Michigan voters. Barack Obama, John Edwards, and Bill Richardson all removed their names from the ballot, while Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Chris Dodd, Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gavel all kept their names on the ballot. There was no requirement by the DNC to have their names removed. The only agreement by all candidates was not to campaign there.

  • Uppity Woman

She said that Hillary Clinton had decided to support Barack Obama

Hillary Clinton was bullied into “supporting” Barack Obama by a Chicago Thug who is running for president, so that he might turn The USA into a cesspool like the one he hails from. Barack Obama has NO interest whatsoever in Democracy. He is a bleak bleak dangerous man with ties to the most horrendous of anti-democracy countries. He is nothing but a thug who would elminate us all if he could. He makes George Bush look good.

No! It is NOT ridiculous! I think that GBush is a freakin’ disaster and have been simply astounded at his pathetic attempt at cowboy politics…but one thing is sure…I am absolutely convinced as to his loyalty to the United States of America.

I cannot say the same thing about nobama…and that is very, very scary.

Oh, see, here’s your confusion — Obama never said that, someone else did, and they said it within a specific context, with those words later clarified.

              • street_parade

unfortunately, the ‘someone’ was his life partner…can’t get much closer than that. And those words are impossible to take out of context and need no clarification. That is what she meant, that is what she believes, that is WHO she is.

                • Slim Tyranny

“Close” only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Obama never said that and there’s no evidence that he believes anything like that.

                  • street_parade

Umm, well in addition to his wife, how about his church of God Damn America, just for starters? Oh that’s right, he never heard any of that. Naivete, they name is Obamabot.

                    • Slim Tyranny

Ah, you’re confused again. He never said “GD America”, someone else did. He wasn’t even there when it was said.

                      Try again.

                    • street_parade

When a man shows you who he is – believe him. The funny thing is, Obama is not hiding what he believes, he denies it – but he is not able to hide it.

A question for you. Jeremiah Wright is quite honest about his adherence to Black Liberation Theology. Wright is one of the lynchpins in Obama’s life, a surrogate father (for appearances sake a ‘crazy’ uncle). Obama attended this church for 20 years and supported it to the tune of nearly $50,000 in the last two years alone. He COULD of attanded a non-radical church, he chose not to. Why?

If he were a private citizen or even a state Senator, no one would have to ask. But he’s not, he is running for President. So which is it, does he believe it or not? If not, why did he attend for two decades?

          • Tommy

Doubt Obama’s Loyalty to the USA? “HA” Doubt is for the blind and definetly them that have no ‘EAR” to “HEAR” or “EYES” to see and read that Barky is a danger to America….

If Barky was loyal he would not have lied about NAFTA, he would not have mislead the American people on his voting record, especially the IRAQ war…The lil Barky butt never voted so nobody knows how Barky would have Barked…It’s easy for him to bitch about the war now because it’s easier to stir people’s emotions with Bullshit than is to tell the American people he lied….

By the way,how does Barky know what the hell is going on in Iraq? The Barky butt has not visited our Troops since 2006 and I’m not sure the guy took time to say hello to any of our troops then….LOYAL? Please!

If Barky was loyal to America he would have allowed the Populuar vote to prevail…Barky is not loyal to the USA…. We the People, whom he screwed and we the people are America….Loyal to him is telling America he will meet with loons like the leaders in Iran,Cuba ,Palestine, etc, without PRE_CONDITION”.

Being loyal is accepting the American way not Gerorge Soros law,or William Ayers law ,or Farrakan’s Law or Rezko’s Law, which by the way, Rezko will sing a Barky tune soon once the FEDS. put the pressure up his ass….LOYAL? Barky is loyal to them that are using him for a pawn to rip this country apart.

Barky, claimed to be the answer to unifying America….Loyal? Loyality does not divide a Great Nation and Barky has accomplished dividing America….

If one cannot tell how divided America is now, some are not wanting to see it.

            Mad American!

  • http://www.patriotroom.com Bill Dupray

Looks like Obama is starting out as the underdog. He seems to have written off Florida and Ohio, admits PA, NH, and MI will be “competitive,” and concedes he must win some Republican states to beat McCain.

    http://patriotroom.com/?p=432

    • Mary

      Good Lord.

A Democratic nominee is “writing off” Florida and Ohio, and admits Pennsylvania wil be a “challenge.”

Not a chance in hell he wins Virginia.

Strong military/Navy state. They love McCain.

Amazing that the DNC chose the weakest candidate to win, to accomodate the Al Sharptons who threatened “blood in the streets” and riots at the convention if they “took” it from Obama.

      Stunning stupidity.

  • Ann

The only way BO wins anything is to eliminate the competition from the ballot. I’m sure he thinks he’s going to get McCain off the ballot, too, by virtue of the fact that MCCain was born in Panama.

Obama is the most disgusting politician in my lifetime…worse than Bush, worse than Nixon. How completely embarrassing that he claims to be a Democrat. It is unfricking believable…Democrats were going to win this year and what do we do — lie, steal, cheat voters, discount FL and MI and do everything possible to make sure that there isn’t a friggin’ chance we’ll win. The only chance to get a Dem into the White House is to have HRC run as an Independent and then redeclare herself as a Dem after winning the GE.

    • Lou

We all need to see an actual copy of BO’s birth certificate. The way he hounded Hillary for her tax returns was pitiful. We need to stay on this. We need to see the original copy and see a medical statement from a doctor and a psychiatrist.
      McCain got his in.

  • Judy

Odd. I just called the DNC, and they denied that Hillary would not be on the ballot at the convention; however, they then said, “Hillary Clinton is now supporting Obama.”.

Then I asked about the DNC relocating to Chicago, and they said they have sent staff to Chicago only, and that Obama has sent staff to DC because he is the Democratic NOMINEE. I corrected her, and I said you mean the presumptive nominee – there was silence.

She said quickly, I have to get off the phone – I have alot of calls.

No matter what I detest Howard Dean and Obama – they should be watched.

I don’t know if I believe the staff – they are the last to know anything – so, it very well could be in the works.

I received E Mail from Hillary this afternoon 1: 00 central time with a Thank You and a Photo Album of her campaign.
You can donate from this EMail if you receive it.

Since one cannot post on Hillary’s site and it seems to be overrun by Obamanites I am just not sure about anymore donations.
Until I am 99.9% sure that any donations I make will not land with the DNC or Obama-I will keep my money or donate to McCain.

No. Heidi li blog (lawyer) has a campaign to retire the debt. please go there and see what she says about the importance of this.

Where in the world is Hillary?

    Well,

She got the hell as far away from the DNC idiots as possible.

Furthermore Hillary is doing one of several things:

She has made her mark and is exiting to let Obama fail……….but he will probably beat Mcain so Hillary 2012 plan will backfire.

She suspended her campaign, kept her delegates and is waiting for a big mother of all scandals to break that takes Obama out of the race pronto thus she is the nominee…….

She is waiting to be asked to be the nominee……..is this likely?
Today Patty Solis Doyle was hired to be chief of staff to Obama’s VP.

    Only time will tell.

What pisses me off the most is that Hillary was the strongest, most qualified, candidate for the job.

If you neede someone to perform brain surgery on you would and lets say Obama and Hillary were certified surgeons ans were your only choices……
    who would you pick…………….
The one who has never done anything, or the one who has had 35 years of PROGRESSIVE experience around the world and 8 years in the profession.

    My choice would be Hillary……………..

Our choice is more important than surgery.
Our choice is the for the salvation of this country.

Shallow is what shallow does and that is Obama………………shallow.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

“Today Patty Solis Doyle was hired to be chief of staff to Obama’s VP.”

Are you kidding? Obama has not picked a VP, but he is already dictating who the VP’s Chief of Staff will be?

VP’s normally pick their own Chief of Staff.

The grand-jury referral, the first time the probe has moved beyond the investigative phase, relates to allegations of political meddling in the Justice Department’s civil-rights division, these people say. Specifically, it focuses on possible perjury by Bradley Schlozman, who served a year as interim U.S. attorney in Kansas City, Mo.

He wrote lots of nasty things about minorities, but he put the words in somebody else’s mouth. He never condemns the racist swill. You ought to read his books carefully.

His books are ugly beyond imagination. Lucky for Obama, he’s such a terrible writer that most people can’t make the miserable slog through his books.

      • http://hotair.com/archives/2008/06/02/michelle-obama-dont-trust-bloggers-because-people-lie/ Kelly

He did not quote any slur. He used his own words to describe two groups having a dialogue.

      • John House

THIS is what it would’ve looked like had Obama been “quoting someone else’s words” like you say, Einstein:

It “flowed freely,” he wrote in his memoir—“not just out on the streets but in the stalls of Columbia’s bathrooms as well, where, no matter how many times the administration tried to paint them over, the walls remained scratched with blunt correspondence between “niggers” and “kikes”. It was as if all middle ground had collapsed.”

He didn’t bother to put the quotes in, and the quotes DO matter if you’re no affiliating yourself with the words. There is another part of the book where he refers to Jews as kikes, and another part of the book where he refers to blacks as niggers (without quotes). But you’d've had to’ve read the book to comprehend this.

Howard Dean doesn’t have the power to take anyone’s name off a ballot. It was stated that he “discouraged the idea.” So what?

Do any of you remember Democratic Conventions of the past? All kinds of names are thrown around. I think “Uncle” Ted Kennedy was nominated like 20 times or something.

I wouldn’t be surprised is Sponge Bob Square Pants is nominated. Could be an improvement. Everybody’s got delegates, even Square.

    McCain/Hillary ’08 – now that’s REAL change!

    Hillary/Sponge Bob ’08 — even BETTER change!

Democrats remind me of those unlucky people who always buy BIG at the END of a real estate boom, and lose everything.

Republicans, too, as they’re using the same methods, but at least the republicans made a little money, and got to enjoy it, for awhile.

      Not the democrats, though.

Can you imagine what would happen if they finally started going after these people?

  • http://confloyd connie floyd

I have a question, how is not putting Hillary’s name on the ballot going to help with the unity problem?? That sounds more like communism to me. You will vote for the candidate of our choice because he is the only one on the ballot and we will make sure of it!

    • NomNomNom

LOL, I started calling Obama Stalin back in March when they started trying to force Clinton out of the race. I vote in NC (May 6th) and that would have left me only Obummer on the dem ticket. This has been a long time coming. No way did the move to Chordor happen as suddenly as it appears either. The party has incurred a hostile takeover by Chordor crooks sponsored by foreign terrorists. Country over Party: vote McCain and only dems who continue to back Clinton on election day.

Something comes to mind here, after I read k in the northwest’s post.

Research an article in the Orlando Sentinel(spell??) how Obama is trying to replace 30 of Hillary’s delegates with 30 of his delegates.

Fraud/deceit/ but something that should be researched to see if he is pulling this in all of the states.

    • Lou

      EXACTLY. THE KEY WORDS ARE

if there is at least on state with one delegate that wants to put Hillary on the ticket she will be in the first ballot.

how Obama is trying to replace 30 of Hillary’s delegates with 30 of his delegates.

      • Linda C.

He has a lot of Clinton delegates to replace if ths is the case. He uis trying to push out Florida delegates. Remember they are fully seated with a half vote a piece. They can over turn that at the convention be granted a full vote. They can also do the same for Michigan. The symbolism, although right for democratic process, puts a damper on the Obama coronation party.

  • K. Wynne

The main reason we don’t want Hillary to be VP is should something happen to BO (like be assasinated), don’t think for a second SHE wouldn’t be blamed. She needs to stay far away from BO.

Second, I think we should pay close attention to the little ripples coming out about Mike Bloomberg being considered as either McCain’s or BO’s VP. This is significant. Bloomberg would never be satisfied to do the menial tasks of the VP. A VP spot would only be positioning him for the presidency later. How much later is the question.

I believe there is a major power struggle going on behind the scenew. George Soros is one of the players and he has chosen to support BO and turn his back on Hillary. Why the change and what’s in it for him for doing so? Also, Zbigniew Brezinski is very much in support of BO and is his senior foreign policy advisor. Both Soros and Brezinski are big believers in “one world government”. They need a puppet.

Now Bloomberg is beginning to come onto the scene. It’s like they are throwing out test balloons by mentioning him as a VP choice for either candidate to see how the people will respond. This is a backdoor way in for Bloomberg to eventually get the power of the presidency.

Also, keep in mind that McCain, himself, has stated that he would only be a one-term president. So, any VP of McCain would have a great opening for the presidency.

Then add to the mix the very real possiblity that were BO “cheated” into the White House, it would more than likely not be a long term presidency. There is plenty of excuses that could be made by the power elite to, once again, bring forth a “lone nut” who could be responsibility for ending BO’s presidency, much in the same way JFK’s was and be played as such.

Let’s see, we know of 2 billionaires (Soros and Bloomberg) with one extremely powerful and influencial political player (Brezinski)running the show behind the scenes. Do we really believe that they support BO because of his “hope and change message?

They have an agenda and we, the people, are merely fodder in their plans.

I believe Hillary is well aware of the power struggle going on and is biding her time, preparing and waiting for the opportune moment to make her move. I have no doubt that she will be there standing for the people.

She has always been about change I can believe in.

    • Lou

Soros and Bloomberg belong to the ‘billionares club’ who’s cheif aim is a one world government.

Obama is the puppet but secretly intends on throwing them under the bus when he gets to be king if ever.

    • ginaswo still says no to Uhhbama

BLOOMBERG hates HRC and has been supporting Uhhbama frm the beginning

      what a joke

this is a clusterfxxk and I am voting McCain

yep they know he will sell the country down the river as long as he comes out on top

thats the kind of change they are hoping for in the boardrooms

    • Jim (Just Say No to Puppets like Bush/Obama)

This is the disturbing reality we are facing. The media push for Obama was the most glaring first hint that something suspicious was going on.

IF Obama is being set-up for an JFK finale, then the damage to the country may be as bad or worse than 9/11. Riots would be the least of our troubles if that happened.

      • http://deleted Kathleen

Bloomberg is positioning himself. He’s playing it smart. Obama is so caught up in his own narcistic self-love, he won’t see his demise coming before it’s too late.

Think about it. Our governmet is corrupt to the core and there is no way in hell an incompetent light weight like BO would ever be given any real power by the “power elite”. Of course, try to explain that to the Obamabots! They think we are bitter and are sour grapes about Hillary. Nothing could be further from the truth.

BO is being set up and along with him, the American people, for the finale of the one world government agenda empowering the few over the many.

It will not be a world in which I would want to live.

Hillary is the best bet we have to stop the coup. Why else have the power elites totally rejected her? What a great honor to be rejected by the power elite! It’s akin to being on the Nixon hate list.

I hope we wake in time and stand with Hillary in the millions so that we can stop this coup before its too late and “launch” Hillary into the White House. She will lead the way for the American people to take back their country from these power elites who are no longer capable of being patriots for the greater good.

Truly, it will take a woman to save this village!

Hey. I don’t ask this to be a troll I’m just wondering what you think.

I, for one, don’t believe PUMA is a majority of the 17+ million. Until we have stats otherwise…just a guess.

  • Maria E. Hill

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did not have a convention. Perhaps i could be electronic and save a lot of money.

  • curious

I for one think a move like this is unwise and adds insult to injury for hillary supporters, but I do hope that between now and november you all take a good hard look at what really matters: the policies of John Mcain. Oh and the policies of Barrack Obama as well- which are virtually identical to Hillary’s on almost every issue. It is the similarity of their policies which let this primary become so personal- on the issues there is only the wonkiest of difference.

    • NomNomNom

Yes his policy of not allowing people their vote sounds SOOOOOO much like Clinton. NOT. You freakin moron.

  • socalannie

Good. I’m actually glad they’re doing this. The more crap they pull, the more they downplay Hillary & us, the more egregrious the wrongs, means that more Hillary supporters who might have been wavering will grow a pair & vote McCain. Funk Rich of the NYT op-ed piece (& I do mean piece) was all about what a fantasy it was that we would defect to McCain. These people demean us more & more everyday. Barky, Coward & Brazilla & Co. have highjacked the Democratic Party. Now its time for the Rebellion!

  • Anna

I called the main headquarters of the DNC and would urge others to do the same. Just google DNC and you can call their 800 number to confirm Senator Clinton’s name has been removed from the ballot (which they confirmed when I asked) and then ask if that was authorized by the Clinton campaign. To the latter question I was told, “She in no longer in the race”. In essence the article we are all responding to is correct. Call the DNC to express your outrage. I also left an e-mail at the Clinton web site (Lord knows who’s receiving them these days) about the issue. I plan to contact her Senate office, as well.

All of these posts are great, but how in the world will anything substanative get organized????

    Anna

    • Frances Morey

      Dear Anna,
I wholeheartedy agree that the elite of the Democratic party are angling to avoid a first ballot roll call considering it much too dramatic for prime time television. Why, the Hillary delegates could storm the convention and demand fairness. That would be just awful.
We deserve to know how close the delegate race really is. Keep the pressure up on the DNC. I’ll do the same from here in Texas where the Obamabots have comandeered the Democratic Party statewide and locally here in Travis County. The local TCDP is having a party this evening for the opening of their heasquarters. I told them that I didn’t feel like attending their party.
      Best,
      Frances Morey

  • votermom

There is no excuse for this. She’s a historic candidate, for crying loud! Can you imagine the outcry if Obama had placed second and they left him off the ballot?

    • socalannie

I know. The double-standards are ridiculous.

  • http://doublejointedfingers.blogspot.com/ Cyn NY

The more I read this kind of stuff, the more I am thinking about voting for McCain rather than writing in Hillary.

    • John House

It would be the better choice regarding her chances for a 2012 shoe-in. If Oblahma gets in, she might not have the chance because it’s possible his cronies and his Axelrod-led “movement” would be just as pathetic as the Bush movement that kept THAT idiot in office for 8 years. Remember, Bush was HATED in 2004 and we all thought he was doing a terrible job, yet people still voted to keep him in office. DO NOT let Obama get in, no matter WHAT (even if it means voting McCain in!). Write-ins won’t work anyway, lots of states just have too varying a position on write-ins, and no matter how many she gets, she still won’t win the Presidency.

  • Connie

Will Bowers (PUMA) just on Neil Cavuto – great appearance and affirmation of the will of PUMA voters – you people keep up the good work!

  • mystic4hillpuma

I think Howard Dean is on to something. Keep Hillary’s name off the ballot at the convention, thereby making sure everyone has no choice but to vote for Obama. That’s a very unifying action, don’t you see? The party can be completely unified as it self-destructs. They can all hold hands and sing Kumbayah as the Unity Ship sinks to the bottom of the deep blue sea. Then the rest of us angry, bitter people, who simply don’t understand the Dean Method Of Party Unity will be free to rebuild the party.

  • Anna

I just called Clinton campaign headquarters in Virginia – actually got someone on the phone who said they’re still there (Clinton people, not Obama people) “tying up loose ends”. I asked if Clinton had sanctioned having her name removed from the ballot, and he said her name will be on the ballot. When I said the DNC told me her name was removed, he said that’s just the gyst of assuming everyone will place their support behind Obama. Wierd. If that’s the case, why would the DNC say her name was “removed”. To me, having a name removed is not the same as having it there for delegates to vote as they will.

More depressing news: the guy at Clinton campaign headquarters said they expecteedd Al Gore to be coming out today to ppublically endorse Obama.

It seems hard to believe I have any more tears or outrage left, but it seems I do.

I’m feeling beyond sad and beyond angry. Shocked that this could be happening. But, at least empowered that I can leave the party (which I did) and vote as I see fit (which I will), but it doesn’t seem like enough.

I loved the idea I read one some blog that on the first vote at the convention, Senator Clinton’s delegates vote for her, then walk out!

    Anna

    • Deep Truths

Don’t use such defeatist language. I suspect Obamabots when hear tears and other bullshit. You should be pissed off and angry. Anger is a more effective emotion than despair.

Obama needs an infusion of cash. Supposedly he could spin yarn but now he has to borrow obsure mailing lists, ’cause the backlash is revving up big time.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Anna…..Al Gore did fine by not getting involved. His endorsement means an insult, really, coming at this point.

      Smart man.

  • Susanjane

Just watched Will Bower representing PUMA on Neil Cavuto. His performance seemed lacklustre but he did manage to emphasize the point that the main issue
is the DNC’s failure to follow democratic principles in picking Obama. That is, that Obama was Selected not Elected. He also deftly handled Cavuto’s quiries about what will happen if Obama does pick Hillary as his running mate. He basically said we will cross that bridge when we get to it, that we cannot afford to wait for Barack to decide what he will do; that we must act now.

  • Not a Believer

Curious…”Oh and the policies of Barrack Obama as well- which are virtually identical to Hillary’s on almost every issue”

Voting on Issues: How many times did Clinton vote ‘present’…not similar at all.

Universal Healthcare vs. only for children….not similar at all.

Talking with the terrorists….not similar at all.

Moving troops out of Iraq and ending the war…..(Clinton within 60 days to start withdrawal – Obama to start withdrawal within 24 months)…..not similar at all.

Church – Obamas’s: racist, white hating, anti-American, Black Theology – Clinton’s…..not similar at all.

Amnesty – …….not similar at all

Home Mortgages assistance: Clinton to aid the people right away, Obama not….not similar at all

Gas Prices: Obama does not support limited lifting of gas tax (which he supported and that was successful in Illinois), Clinton does support this….not similar at all

Obama flipping on issues, manipulator, bad for the country as a ‘whole’…..priceless!

I don’t find their position on issues similar at all as listed above…so what would the next excuse be to try to persuade Clinton supporters to vote for Obama? Because Howard Dean says so – LOL!

    • TeakWoodKite

Moving troops out of Iraq and ending the war…..(Clinton within 60 days to start withdrawal – Obama to start withdrawal within 24 months)…..not similar at all.

      Trust me, she’s catching hell.

But at least she’s the only one addressing the fact that some humility should be what Obama, Dean, Pelosi, Brazile and the whole cabal should be showing.

That far out is Communism, Marxist, Lennin, Illich, beyond Socialism and outright communist. hillary had moved more toward the Center like McCain and she was my choice for the nominee.     Slim;

In the state of Michigan, voters voted FOR Sen. Clinton; those votes resulted in “delegates”. The DNC Rules and BY-Law Committee bypassed the “fair reflection” of the voters and gave away 4 delgates of Sen. Clintons, to Sen. Obama.

This is election fraud and must be challenged by any and all Americans. Your very Right depends on this challenge; as well as mine.

That is the FACT I want discussed.

This is the very action used by communists. If and/or when you want to admit to this election fraud taking place; then maybe I will be willing to discuss your other “facts”.

  • Marc F

I’m a delegate for Hillary to the Denver convention. I’ve read the convention rules and found that candidates have no right to release their delegates. Also the delegates can vote for anyone they want at the convention even if their name is not placed in nomination. The only way the DNC can prevent me from voting for Hillary is to not have a vote. But that takes a 2/3 vote to suspend the rules. Hillary’s delegates have to remain united to prevent turning the convention into a coronation.

    • http://paganpower.wordpress.com/ PaganPower

That is EXCELLENT NEWS Mark! Thanks.

      Marc f.;

Do you remember the dnc rbc decision on the 1/2 votes for Florida delegates ? Was it not also part of that decision, that “each” candidate got to choose those delegates (their own) ?

I believe this was part of the fight betweem Ausman and Obamas florida financial advisor ?

  • elise

It was on the news this afternoon, Al Gore will endorse Obama tonight. I suppose it shouldn’t be unexpected, but it is still another sadness to deal with. He is, after all is said and done, a politician and his Party is in trouble.

Some other news out of the Obama campaign might provide a laugh to offset Gore’s defection. A spokesman claimed they can win without Florida and Ohio.

The anger and frustration of Hillary’s supporters can be seen all over the Internet. And we have choices to make. I have resisted the temptation to throw my support behind McCain in spite of the fact my husband has said that is the way he will go.

I want to present an argument for the other alternative; not voting. There is an initiative on the ballot in my state to forbid late term abortion and I must vote against it since it has no provision for the health of the mother. But, after swinging back and forth for the last two weeks, I have concluded I will not vote for president.

In my case, it is a matter of protest against the willfulness of the Party and the disgusting campaign run by Obama and his surrogates. I have already changed my affiliation and have unsubscribed to emails from the DNC asking for money.

This is my argument. When the Republican Convention announces it’s platform, What will we do? How can we endorse it by voting for McCain? The DNC and the Obama campaign have made clear they do not believe our votes are needed. They have a new way of doing things. Obama blew West Virginia and Kentucky off, refusing even the appearance of an effort to win those Democrats since they don’t fit into his demographic. It seems he has also written off Florida and Ohio. The plan, they say, is to pick up additional electorals from western states and perhaps Mississippi.

If a majority of Hillary voters refuse to vote for Obama we would accomplish two things; Low turnout would be less likely to be laid at Hillary’s feet; And we will see how strong the New Coalition really is. I live in Colorado which is one of the states included in Obama’s new map. We have eight electoral votes and a very small African American population.

I have heard his campaign say they have a possibility of picking up Texas. I don’t know what they are smoking, but I wish I had some. Texas has some large African American population in big cities, but Hillary won the state partly because of the high Hispanic population. That state is about as red as it gets. I have family there and was born there. There won’t be any Republicans crossing over.

My point is I would rather be passive aggressive and I am worried about how we all will feel afterward if we vote McCain. There are some very good and honest people who have chosen to do that and my decision isn’t set in stone. If there is a consensus of opinion, I will follow because the DNC has to be stopped.

    • John House

I think that, given McCain’s true reputation, that you will feel sorry that you didn’t vote for him come November, ESPECIALLY if Obama gets in.

He does NOT represent the religious right that is the Bush wing. He may be going through the moves, but like Hillary, he’s doing what he HAS to do, because that’s his party; it’s merely a label. McCain may be under the LABEL of “Repugnican” [sic], but he’s not one of them. Don’t you remember what Karl Rove did to smear him (about his “black baby”)? The Repugs behind Bush did what they could to keep McCain from getting the nomination, so if anyone knows about being the brunt of race-baiting dirty tricks, it’s McCain.

Staying home or voting for Obama will only give Obama an edge. Do what you can to KEEP Obama from attaining that position to beat McCain: Vote for McCain. It’s using your vote strategically and will help benefit Hillary’s run in 2012. I convinced a friend of mine in 2000 to NOT vote Nader and told him that somehow Nader was going to fuck up the 2000 election for Gore and look what happened! To this day I’m sure that had Nader not been in the race, Gore’s troubles in Florida would’ve been of less importance; he would’ve had the Presidency in the bag. You don’t want to be of the camp that would siphon votes from the winning candidate, and I really believe that those who choose to stay home, write-in Hillary, or vote for Obama would be siphoning votes from McCain (I mean, that’s just logic working there…political strategists can see this clear as day).

I’m confused now, and not surprising, because DNC staffers probably don’t know what the hell is coming off in regard to the convention and Hillary on the ballot, or not. I just emailed the DNC under the “Donation” category asking which it is. If and when I receive an answer, I’ll let ya know. Money is a good place to approach the DNC it would seem, since it appears to be the primary motivation for many of their poor decisions of late.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

  • Frances Morey

I wish there was a national site for those of us to go to get grief counseling. I have been in dispair ever since Democratic Party Chairman Boyd Ritchie pulled the plug on Senator Clinton’s concession speech being shown during the Texas State Democratic Convention in Austin on June 7. Then BHO arrogantly and dismissively went to play golf instead of watching it himself.
I have been in mourning ever since witnessing this shabby treatment of HRC by the sore winners. Where can Hillary supporters go to get grief counceling? There are thousands of women like me all over the US who are suffering the disasterous effects from the theft of the Democratic nomination by arm twisting, payoffs to Super Delegates and gaming the caucuses with “bus loads of young people” brought in to fraudulently influence the election results and the delegate selection process. Some of this may even have been legal but it is hardly ethical. The end does not justify the means.
I think I’ll have to vote for John McCain come November. At least all he steals is money.
