Obama and the Parables of Pooh

poohIf you ever wondered what an overdose on Cult-Aide looked like just take a peek at today’s UK Telegraph. In an article titled (and no, I am not kidding) Barack Obama aide: Why Winnie the Pooh should shape US foreign policy, Richard Danzig, who rumor has it is being considered as an Obama National Security Advisor, would have us believe that our country will be protected if we only listen to the parables of Pooh.

Mr Danzig told the Centre for New American Security: “Winnie the Pooh seems to me to be a fundamental text on national security.”

Look, I am all for thinking outside the box. But this guy is thinking outside the universe of reason. What should we expect next? That Patti Solis Doyle will pick Dr. Seuss as Obama’s running mate. Strangely, that somehow seems entirely appropriate.

But it isn’t just Pooh that we should emulate. Danzig believes that Luke Skywalker has a place in an Obama Administration as well.

In a briefing which will inform Mr Obama’s understanding of terrorists, Mr Danzig said he learnt much from recent interviews with jailed Aum Shinrikyo terrorists who released sarin nerve gas on the Tokyo underground in 1995.

He said that even people who are relatively well off and successful can feel like failures and become alientated from their societies. He said one terrorist told him: “We have been raised on a theory of superheroes. We all want to be like Luke Skywalker.

So this guy Danzig that is apparently on Obama’s very short list to become his National Security Advisor learns things from Cult leaders. No wonder Obama wants him on his team. Danzig will be fawning all over him, in awe of the Master.

If you aren’t sure by now that this dude needs some emergency mental health care just look at these words of wisdom from a close advisor to Obama.

“When we’re doing mundane things, we lose track of our ambition but when someone comes along, like Asahara, the head of the cult, and presents himself as a messiah and gives us a picture of progress that is ordained by heaven and that we are carrying out a saintly mission on earth that is for us extraordinarily evocative.”

Mr Danzig added: “The parallels with al Qaeda are obvious.”

Uh, Earth to Danzig. You seem to be describing your boss fairly well. Not exactly a great selling point if you ask me. Next time, try laying off the Cult-Aide for a few hours before you brief the rest of us on how Obama will make us safer by following the advice of imaginary characters.

And if we weren’t convinced enough that Danzig was WAY out there he offers one more tidbit of wisdom. And folks, you just can’t make this stuff up.

He said that another lesson about terrorists can be learnt from studying violent football fans. “One of the best books I’ve read on terrorism in recent years was not about terrorism at all,” he said. “It’s Bill Buford’s book Among the Thugs, which is a description of soccer violence in Britain.

“Buford became absorbed by soccer violence. He describes the most appalling examples of soccer violence by fans against fans. But he describes with relentless honesty how he finds sickening things attractive. He says violence lets the adrenaline flow; it’s like sex, you live in the moment.”

So terrorism is like violence is like sex. So what exactly is he suggesting? That we should all take a primer course in S & M? Or is he suggesting that the solution to our national security problems is that we aren’t kinky enough? Perhaps we should ask Pooh.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows Barack Obama attracting 45% of the vote while John McCain earns 41%. When “leaners” are included, Obama holds a three-point advantage, 48% to 45%. Both results reflect a single point gain for McCain and a continued fade for Obama’s bounce.

Okay this is what happens when positivism meets reality. Being Positive is good, as long as it is based in realism. Shows like Oprah, that teach the masses to believe in Positivism for the sake of itself have this effect on people. They start to believe the BS running in their heads. “oh if only the world can be as good as the 100 acres farm!” “I believe it can happen, as long as I stay positive about it.” I think this borders on Ignorance. At what point does reality and ignoring it become less positivism and more ignorance. You can’t ignore something real for something abstract, the universe will come down and smack you in the face.

    • Dawnelle

That’s why we’re NOT ignoring the likes of WRight, Pfleger, Moss, Meeks, losers like Kerry, etc.

      WE can’t ignore that.

You’ve also perfectly described the right wing in this country, too.

I was reading some stuff about the Vietnam era Pentagon, and it’s crazy generals, yesterday, and what you’ve described pretty much sums up how they thought, they formed a kook idea, no dissent allowed to weed out the feeble, and decided to “make it happen” by being positive, instead of fleshing out an idea.

But “kook” isn’t something that can really be fleshed out, it’s simply a walking, GIANT birth defect, chromosomal abnormalities abound.

            • sfhillary

I very much doubt that you know anything whatsoever about John McCain’s “policy.” In virtually every respect he is hardcore conservative Republican. He wants to continue our occupation of Iraq for decades to come. He wants to maintain Bush’s tax cuts for the super-wealthy forever, leading to an immense, intractable budget deficit. He is staunchly pro-life and has promised to appoint strict constructionist judges to the Supreme Court — one more of those and we are living in a strongly right-wing country for decades to come with no legal recourse. He is against stem cell research. He is a strong supporter of Bush-era government surveilliance of private citizens in the name of the “war on terror” in direct contravention of the Constitution. Need I go on? “God bless John McCain”? What on earth are you smoking?

Two weeks after clinching the Democratic nomination and kicking off the general election campaign, Obama leads McCain by 47 percent to 42 percent.

At this same point in the campaign, Kerry and Dukakis had large DOUBLE DIGIT leads over their Republican rival.

Speaking of Zbig, and O’boys Marxism….

    Here’s some food to digest…

We all are aware of the Marxist ideals of O’boys inner circle, William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Black Liberation theology and the teachings of Jame Cone.

But Zbig, Obama’s Foreign Policy advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, has been getting overlooked.

Brzezinski is a whole new breed of Marxist. One that already slipped into the mainstream.

Leaving no doubt about it, here are excerpts from Brzezinski’s book “Between Two Ages”.

On page 72, Brzezinski writes: “Marxism is simultaneously a victory of the external, active man over the inner, passive man and a victory of reason over belief.”

On page 83, he states: “Marxism disseminated on the popular level in the form of Communism, represented a major advance in man’s ability to conceptualize his relationship to his world.”

On page 123, we find: “Marxism supplied the best available insight into contemporary reality.”

Obama’s highest advisor advocates that Marxism is a victory, Marxism is a major advance in man’s ability, and Marxism has the best insight for the contemporary world.”

    NOBAMA? HELL NO!!

And if that does not scare you enough, google Zbig, and read all about his plan for a “New World Order”, where the US Constitution is quaint and no longer useful.

Then read about his plan to use technology to track the every movement of every citizen, not just the bad guys.

Don’t think so? That is the favorite part of governing for a Marxist, total control of the citizenry. Think Communist China, Soviet Union, Stalin, Mao…..

Our Democracy and Liberties are fragile and we better be vigilent or we will lose it.

  • Peggy Sue

Awhhh, tell me it’s not true. The Obamatrons are claiming Winnie, too. And as an a NSA advisor!

This is getting increasingly scary and bizarre. When you need to reference a child’s fictional character and motivations to sell your candidate, you’ve either lost your mind, or you’ve decided voters are as childish as you are. I guess they decided to stay away from Bambi.

And referencing a text entitled, Among the Thugs, is ironic.

I keep saying it gets better and better. But that’s not true. It’s getting worse, so far out it’s beyond laughable. This crew needs to march into the mountain with the Pied Piper and never be seen again. And I’m sorry, the personality makeover on Michelle O. at The View doesn’t work for me either. Is this really happening. Are we really about to elect this arrogant, head in the clouds, anything different from what we are doing must be better, fool. When will people wake up and see that Obama and his cohorts truely believe that they have everything figured out. Their thoughts and conclusions are superior and the world only needs to hear them in order to ascertain their brilliance. We are in deep trouble if these clowns are allowed to take power.

    • sfhillary

Yes, it’s really happening, yes, we’re about to elect Barack Obama, and no, we are not in trouble. He is a mainstream Democrat just like Hillary Clinton and he will govern as such. You NQers talk about his incompetence and stupidity and ignore the fact that between the two, Obama’s primary campaign organization was vastly superior, much better run, much more efficient and much smarter. I’m sure you all have a reason why none of that is really so, but the facts are the facts: he won. Nothing was stolen. Hillary didn’t get as many delegates. She started the primaries with a 100 delegate lead (100 or so superdelegates to Obama’s zero) and finished it behind by 200. And considering that when it comes to actual voters they were virtually tied, Obama’s delegate victory can almost entirely be attributed to a superior game plan which carried him through February and March with caucus victories in states that the Clinton organization utterly ignored, and many many dozens of super-delegates who became persuaded by what they saw that Obama was the candidate to carry the Democratic flag in November. Again: spare me your moaning about how the “powers that be” were in the bag for Obama. The fact is, they were in the bag for Clinton; she began the primaries with over a hundred super-delegate endorsements, Obama began it with none.

Bottom line: his campaign and organization and battle plan were far superior to hers; in fact, as you will all learn on November 4th, his organization is probably the most effective this country has seen in the modern political era. He now has thousands and thousands of volunteers signing up new voters in swing states all across the country where McCain is barely getting off the ground. You are going to see a landslide, and it will all be because of Obama’s superior intellect, strategy and leadership.

But hey, call him incompetent and stupid and silly all you want. As long as McCain doesn’t get the opportunity to pick another Supreme Court justice, it’s still a free country.

You must be from another planet if you think Obama is “Mainstream”.

His church of 20 years is not mainstream

        His closest advisers are Marxists

His closest pals are convicted political fixers and serial bombers

His pastor is God only knows what, but certainly not mainstream.

And, he has flip flopped on every campaign position you can’t possibly know which position he is really behind.

We know for sure he’s a Marxist, just ask his advisor Zbig. You know, Zbig, the guy who thinks the US constitution and our way of life has run its course and should make way for the intellectually superior Marxist doctrine.

That’s no earthquake; Roosevelt, Truman Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, and Reagan are rolling in their graves.

        Mainstream my ass.

Well, at least one person on this thread actually chose to respond to me. You are basing your position that Obama is not mainstream for the most part on trivia. The church is a church; his reasons for staying there no doubt were complex and personal, and the fact that his pastor said some ridiculous things hardly speaks to Obama’s likelihood of governing in any specific way as President. The fact that a chosen few “associates” of all the thousands of people that all politicians like him know happen to be former radicals or current sleazebags is completely irrelevant; if anyone here gave a shit, the list of radicals, sleazebags, indicted crooks, international influence peddlars, Washington lobbyists and so on who are friends and business associates of Bill and Hillary Clinton would stretch for page after page after page. It is laughable to even think that HRC loyalists are making that case about Obama based on his personal associates, given the Clintons’ record (and believe me, I am the ultimate fan of the Clintons; I am quite certain that Hillary would have made a great president, just as her husband was). And the fact that he (admittedly this is true) has flip-flopped on several issues in the course of this campaign is also endemic to politicians and not particularly relevant to how the man would actually govern (except to say that one fears his pragmatism might lead him to compromise on important legislation). There is nothing — absolutely nothing — in Obama’s political life that gives any indication that he desires to be anything other than a mainstream centrist Democrat. If anything, it is a legitimate criticism to say that he has shied away from moments where he’d be asked to take a tough stand. Obviously he has done this with his political future in mind, but just as obviously he has passed up every possible chance to be anything other than mainstream. And, as always, the best indicator of what a candidate believes is what he or she says, and writes, and publishes. And the day you can find anything that Obama has actually said in public or published as a policy position on his website, will be the day I begin to take even remotely seriously the notion that he is some kind of radical leftist of any stripe, let alone a secret Marxist.

Nonetheless, I thank for actually addressing one of my comments about policy, which NQers almost invariably ignore. So thank you for that.

If, and I say IF Obama is the nominee and wins the nomination of our party in August, then I will gladly watch as his ass is demolished. I will love every moment of the bashing that rat-bastard is gonna get. Everytime someone gives it to him and Michelle and our party elites, I’m gonna love it.

Wasn’t Obama supposed to surround himself with intelligent people in order to compensate for his lack of experience? I guess it’s not working for the Junior Senator.

http://www.obama-wire.com/ has been reporting on this stuff for the past couple weeks; great source of news!

Obama does a back flip on NAFTA and says it’s OK now.

In an interview with Fortune Magazine O’boy backed off his harshest attacks on the free trade agreement and indicated he didn’t want to unilaterally reopen negotiations on NAFTA.

“Sometimes during campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated and amplified,” Although he had called NAFTA “devastating” and “a big mistake,” despite nonpartisan studies concluding that the trade zone has had a mild, positive effect on the U.S. economy.

“Does that mean his rhetoric was overheated and amplified? “Politicians are always guilty of that, and I don’t exempt myself,” he answered.”

Does this ass clown hold any position for more than a day?

How can we trust anything he says when he admits to being a lying in his campaign rhetoric?

Hmmmm. I can see all of the obamabots now glowing with the feel-good dreaminess of it all. Winnie the Pooh as foreign policy advisor. I’m trying to recall if there was anything in Winnie’s forest quite so daunting as the threat of nuclear terrorist strikes. I was more of a fan of Dr. Suess myself, but I wouldn’t hand over the reigns of power to Cindy Loo Who, or Thing 1 & 2.

Come to think of it, my favorite book as a child was The Emperor’s New Clothes. Now that book does seem oddly appropriate to “King Obama” – who is all hype and rumor in a popularity contest, but even a child can see he “has no clothes on”.

Hii I promised to leave feedback on the super deluxe hydroponics system I bought from Dealzer.com. Well, here it is. I bought the hydroponic system on September 1st. By the time it arrived, I had all my plans ready as far as the plants I have here to grow with. To unpack it (it came fully assembled) and plug it in – its fully automated – and to set my initial plants up, it took me about 30 minutes. I bought this with a Co2 system as well. Incredibly this box is not only growing my plants at a rate of 1 inch per day, but by the time my first harvest came in, the younger plants were tall enough to move to the flowering chamber. This is pretty good and my first experience with a proper hydroponics system.

Well, lets see…. I can’t really find a single problem with this box, except maybe that it takes 2 people to move it around the apartment. But other than that, I haven’t seen a grow box looking this good before. I have made a few myself and bought from local dealers, but this is the best of the best. Everything from the clone chamber to the size is very well done. The customer service is very easy to deal with and very friendly. The system also comes with lock and key for security and came fully concealed.

Well, if you wanted a review, you got one. I give this company a 9.5 out of 10 rating.

I can’t say their perfect, but who is? All and all it was a great deal. Here their phone number if you need it. 888-HYDRO-81 and their website name is Dealzer.com grow box.

  • NY still loves Hillary

Yeah, just what we want. A NSA that forms it’s policies by listening to terrorists and reading children’s bedtime stories.

How come no one calls this guy a racist for talking about Fairy Tales?
