I seem to remember Jesse Jackson's involvement but all of this is coming from my vague memory and I haven't tried to look this up. The banks were threatened that if they didn't loosen their mortgage criteria that they would be hit with Civil Rights lawsuits. Does anyone remember this? Am I wrong?
