So true. In our house, my husband can barely even talk about this. And I’ll let you in on a secret–HE’S the one who first supported Hillary. I wanted to check all the candidates out, but didn’t trust Bambi, so he was never anyone I would’ve supported (ironically, thanks to the Nation, since I’d read quite a few articles that didn’t paint him in glowing terms). My husband volunteered for her campaign, worked at our caucus, and even voted as a delegate in our county election.

Anyhoo, we’re both mad. So, it’s not just a bitter, old woman thing, it’s also a bitter, old man thing, too!

And for all these nimrods claiming it’s sour grapes, and lecturing us like some kind of little children, this isn’t my first year voting. I’ve supported more than one losing candidate in primaries (sometimes I’ve felt like a jinx), and gone on to support the Democratic candidate who won the nomination. I have found that the women who have been featured in the meda as Hillary supporters against obama and in support of McCain are the most passionate in expressing their outrage against the “scortched earth” tactics of the obama thugs in expressing their disdain at dissent of any kind against the ONE.

I believe this passion stems from women who are in senior positions in the office, as a rule, are expected to train the new guy in the office and then watch him be promoted over them.

The fact that these pundits don’t get it that, among many other things, the most obvious fact is that obama is simply not qualified to be president. This inability to acknowledge that fact by the pundits clearly shows the impact of the male entitlement gene. Let Obama and McCain find out what it’s like to live on $500 a week. I don’t think that either one of these men ever had to worry about where their next meal would come from, and I think it would be an eye-opener for them.

I’m a regular poster on Facebook. Unfortunately, on Facebook, you use your real name. Hillary Clinton has a page there, with a discussion board with hundreds of thousands of posts that often operated like a chat room.

Many of us Clinton supporters had our names and images “cloned” by Obama supporters, who would then take our names and images and move over to the “Obama” page and say the most vile, racist, disgusting things in our image. One woman had her CHILD threatened, and another man had his son threatened sexually by Obama supporters.

Sometimes it was more benign but equally disturbing, such as Obamatrolls “data mining” you on Google, etc., and then exposing your personal info against you. Other times, Obama supporters would make fake profiles and post racist rants so that it looked like Hillary supporters were saying such things. Now that Hillary is out of the picture, these same people have moved on to the John McCain board to do the same thing there. I actually feel sorry for the McCain people, because they don’t know what hatred will be unleashed by the “New Politics of Hope and Change” (c) (TM) (R) 2007 – 2008

No question that this is intimidation or that we’ve crossed another threshold. Terrorists threaten families. In a Democracy members of a political faction do not threaten harm to the families of those who disagree with them. It is frightening that one man’s faithful would do so before he even has the official stamp of the Democratic party.

Over 8 years we have watched Bush’s power, and by extension the power of his faithful, grow exponentially. I was out of work on Wed and watching Fox. I couldn’t watch MO on The View, but wanted to catch highlights of her co-hosting.

Fox had on some PR expert who praised MO’s performance– gave it an “A+”, said she “pitched a shutout”. He had very high praise.

In processing it, I thought, oh-oh, they are backing off MO. They want her PR campaign to cool, so when they unload on her, it will have greater impact. (I’m not saying she wasn’t good on the The View, but Fox’s praise bordered on overkill.)

Why would you think I am against Hillary? I have worked and helped campaigns over the years here in my state but never gave money…when Hillary ran I gave as much as I could. Even sent her money after she got out. I just know when it is over and time to move on…do you want Obama in the White House? A few months ago, when I still thought the DNC might listen to reason and allow the more qualified candidate to have a fair chance at the nomination, I thought Dean, Brazile, Kerry, Kennedy, et al., were just being their usual cowardly selves and caving in to these threats. Now that we have found out the timeline for the leases entered into in preparation for moving the DNC to Chicago and the little farce of scheduling the nominee’s speech on the MLK speech anniversary date, I realize we have just all been hookwinked and bamboozled. This entire nomination process has been a sham, and the threats were designed to try to scare us into submission. Suspect it relates to my SINGLE provider of high speed internet, cable and phone – ALL. KNOW for sure this has been happening but didn’t want to mention it – until Lou above was candid enough to share his experience.

Tried to trace the # calling me and found out it is an FLA business listed 800 line. Also found out in online groups that other people have gotten these same strange calls – as far back as last October, from this # but never before that. Am currently researching the business who holds that # to see what turns up.

Lastly, I know there are some state laws re internet harrassment, etc. but don’t know if there are any Federal laws yet on this. Does anyone else know? If there are we should certainly FILE A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT – wouldn’t that be some nice press for barry and camp!

I would have liked to have seen Tipper Gore or Elizabeth Edwards stand AGAINST the sexism and blatant hatred.

Also a student of history and I agree but it isn’t “politically correct” to compare the similarities taking place in our country right now with those first steps on the path toward total government control.

There are many autobiographies and memoirs describing the slow insidious process but the 1993 movie “Swing Kids” set in the early 1930s depicts how a group (14 to 18) of upper class jazz loving kids known as swingjugend became the target of government suppression and ended up in work camps or forced into the military for rebelling against becoming Nazi jugend.

My 15 year old niece didn’t see the relevance of studying ancient (by her standards) history of WWII. Today’s kids connect through the visual medium so I asked her to watch this move. She later admitted that she had expected it to be boring but the reality of these young kids being put in work camps because of the music they listed to hit home. She also told me that she had finally confronted one of her classmates who was spreading his views that the holocaust had never happened.

Sorry for the long post but I feel it is important to confront bigotry, sexism – and yes racism, head on by giving no quarter to those who practice it. Especially those running for a high political office who condone it by their silence. Fear and apathy are our greatest enemies in the battle to keep our Democratic government.

Obama, McCain, and Hillary were all asked by one of the Chicago papers (Tribune or Sun Times) where they would replace U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. They each said that they would keep him on, McCain even commenting that Patrick Fitzgerald was doing a great job, and was being un-political and fair. I figured that Obama was just yanking my chain and one of his first official acts as pResident would be to fire the current U.S. attorney (the next being a commutation or pardon for Rezko). If McCain said this in Chicago, I’m very disappointed. A strong and independent U.S. Attorney in Chicago is required to drain the swamp. However, if McCain actually intends to remove Patrick Fitzgerald in order to nominate him as Attorney General, that would be sweet!

Al Gore should have followed his instincts and stayed the hell out of the fight. If being a “loyal Democrat” meant issuing an endorsement for Obama, he should have waited until after he was nominated formally in Denver. And in any endorsement, it should have been abundantly clear that Al Gore was speaking his own mind and his own words, but the statement he gave was so obviously written or structured by the Obama campaign; using all the right buzzwords and meant to be as hurtful as possible to Hillary. The least he could have done was to pull an old prisoner of war tactic and blink out (in morse code) his true message that he was being coerced.

I think there is some buyer’s remorse going on with Democrats now that we have watched them change from a party who counted the votes to one who decides whose votes a going to count. DNC you selected your candidate and now you have to deal with the chasm within the party.
