If You Won It, Win It!

Guest post by Regency

Cross posted at Pagan Power

All right, Barack, you’ve got your tiara and you’re prancing down winners’ row like Miss America. We get it, you’re happy. Sadly for you, the rest of us are damned pissed off and you’re the target of our rage.

You see, our girl, Miss Universe, came in “second” to you. Yeah, I know Miss Universe is superior to Miss America, but I consider that analogous to the popular vote and the delegate totals, respectively. She won with the people of the country she would like to represent, but you scored big with the judges. Here in pageant country, Texas, we call that an upset. In simple words: we’re just not that into you.

Here’s one way you might change our minds a little. Leave Miss Universe alone. I mean it. Get your blondies, your Heathers, and your frakkin’ Grease Lightenin’ fan club out of her face. That’s not making me giddy over you and it isn’t inspiring my inner sunshine, mkay? The more you antagonize Hillary, even in absentia, the more I begin to actively detest you and let me tell, you don’t want another Scorpio hating on you. You will not recover from it. Trust me.

The “pundits and the party leaders” have determined that you will be John McCain’s opponent in November, or at least until you go ‘splody in a great big ball of Howard Dean-scented flames. So be it. I believe that was an ill-made (see ethically- and monetarily-handicapped) decision. I have also decided that because of the way you’ve behaved, you juvenile, cheek-scratching, dirt-off-your-shoulder swatting, arugula-sucking, Spanish-ham nipping, policy-stealing, under-the-bus-throwing hack, that I can’t vote for you. I know, I know, you don’t care about me. I’m dirt on your shoulder and all that rubbish. Fine, fine, stop your kvetching.

You’re lucky right now. Many, many people who have decided not to vote for you have also decided not to vote for John McCain. That’s good for you. Here’s a chance that just might win you the election in November if you listen. Tell them how wonderful Hillary is, and how smart. Talk about the fact that you stole all of her old ideas because even the old ones were brilliant, just not as brilliant as the new ones. Tell them how you’ll call her every night to ask her advice because she’s infinitely more knowledgeable than you. Tell them how you really wish the SDs had picked her because even you would’ve slept better at night knowing that she was the one with her finger on the big red button since button literacy was one of the few things they didn’t give remedial classes on at Harvard. (And, we know you were in the remedial classes. Be honest.)

Once you’ve done all that, do the truly good thing and tell her to go back on vacation—whenever she comes back. You know that you—and your robber barons—are the reason the entire party establishment decided to stab a tried and true elder in the back. You know that, I know that, Hillary and Bill know that, but I think we’d all feel much better if it was said aloud, near a microphone and assembled press. Really, I think it’s time. Then, after that’s done, I want you to say, “I intend to win this on my own. I’m not gonna stand on the backs of black people and rich folks’ hired help to win this one. I’m gonna stand on my own two feet. Not on Hillary’s feet, or President Clinton’s. I will campaign in all 50 states in my campaign for the Presidency…But not today.”

Why not today, you may ask. I’ll tell you why, darling. It isn’t your time. You have a very long time to run for President. (Try 2016 on for size.) This isn’t a matter of entitlement on the part of the Clinton faction; it’s called practicality on the part of people in need. Wake up and smell the doom. The “paranoid holdouts” smell it something awful.

The country is in a tailspin of economic and cultural conflict. We are struggling to consume scarce resources, because the resources are, in fact, scarce and because money is even more so. Average people—who work for a living, who balance their checkbooks every other day in case a dollar’s gotten out of check, who mend clothes instead of replace them, who can afford to have air-conditioning in their homes but know damn well they can’t afford to turn it on during the worse days of summer—don’t have time for your brand of Hope-y Charms. Average people, when they aren’t toiling under the weight of an upside down mortgage for which there seems to be no remedy, are trying to decide if they can afford to live in a country where abortion is no longer an option—when for many of the poorest, it may be the only one. They are trying to decide how badly they want alienate their child who has just admitted for the first time the boy she’s been too embarrassed to bring home is really her childhood best friend, who’s lived next door all along. Can they see her in love and say they never want her to know the joy of a real wedding? They don’t know, but they’re trying so hard to decide.

Now, of all times, we can ill-afford someone who is only tepidly devoted to the vital needs of people in this country. That means you, Barack. You don’t care about these people. Don’t deny that. You are indeed caught up in the concept of yourself as President. You want to be the figurehead but you have no desire to do the work. You don’t care if you are another Jimmy Carter; you’re the first Black President, no matter what. They can’t take that away from you, can they? No, they can’t.

But we can.

And we have every intention in the world of ensuring that you never see the inside of the Oval Office.

You have insulted every one of us, if not with your actions, with your silence when our duly-chosen representative, our leader, was savaged in your name. You looked down like a boy-king as your regent was drawn-and-quartered when you had finally decided to ascend to your throne. You have no sympathy—certainly no empathy—and you couldn’t spare even a moment to sincerely defend her. There isn’t a second of this travesty that isn’t engrained in my memory, and that my future children won’t hear of as I think back on the greatness of one woman, and of the mightiest of glass ceilings that stands, more undead than intact, above our heads. There won’t be another like her, Barack, this woman who you’ve stopped with a brick wall when a historic bullet wouldn’t do.

And if there is, some woman who is so enormously prepared, she won’t run. Who would subject themselves to these months of endless torment just to serve a bunch of poor, starving, uninsured, commoners? I can name a woman, but I find myself hard-pressed to name another. Can you? It certainly isn’t Michelle.

It’s you, not us, who have stopped history from being made this year. Hillary would’ve been President without question. Not a byte of data refutes it. You, however, have an alternate destiny. You see, because it is our moral responsibility to keep you away from the White House. The country would never recover from four years of your brand of Democratic corruption in Washington. Eight years of fraudulent, criminal right-wing hucksters have nearly done the nation in, but you, you would be the death of it. So, while you sit there and contemplate the number of new registered voters you’ve got and all that mythical—somewhere someplace—money, remember that there is no amount of “kissing” or flashing your Ba-Rocks at us that will make us vote for you. It’s not the size of your Ba-Rocks or the capacity of your bank account; it’s the depth of your compassion and the breadth of your character.

That, sweetheart, is where you come up so short that you shouldn’t be allowed to be a Salvation Army volunteer, much less be elected President. Partly for those reasons, you won’t be.

The point of this long trip to why I’ll never vote for you is this: If you want me to keep being good and not be a McCain Democrat, you and your thugs—yeah, I said it, thugs—will begin to leave Hillary alone, starting now. Every time you bring her up and insult her, I send out an email. Every time you laugh about angry, “typical white wom[e]n,” a voter that I know personally will lose their will to vote. Every time you offend another state or another demographic that you “won’t need to win in November,” I’ll write another post like this.

Be nice to Hillary, be nice to Bill, and most importantly, shut the hell up. Accept your defeat as imminent, but bask in the notion that you have made “more history” than Hillary. Feel free to ignore that pain in your leg, that’s just me and the voodoo doll.

You say you’ve won this nomination and that you don’t need me—or my 18 million closest friends. All right then. Win without us. However, that means, you have to win without Hillary, too. She, no doubt, voted for herself. Therefore, she’s one more of those over-forty white broads you can do without.

For the first time in my adult life, I’m not proud to be black in America. And frankly, I’m hoping to leave.

    Thank You for this!

Don’t leave!!! Stay and keep fighting!!!! As impossible and improbable as it seems, Obambi keeps getting weaker. No matter how much the MSM keeps reporting on him, Obambi gets smaller as time goes on. Tell all who will look at you, we MUST have Hillary as our nominee. Its that simple. Despite all the bull being thrown around us, we must keep standing tall and proud for Hillary. This is still the same Obambi in all his weak problem-filled glory. We mustn’t stand by and watch this disaster, esp. when it can be prevented. Like Hillary says, America is worth fighting for!!!!

  • missE

    Yes, excellent post Pagan!

I think Barack will be disappointed to find out its not his time seeing as Axlerod gave him his very own Presidential Seal today.

    Thanks for the great post.

What everyone must see and feel

Every woman has felt the results of sexism in their personal lives,
at least once, and for some, many times. When a decision is made that you know was based on sexism, it never leaves your psyche, never.

Each woman that supported Hillary has felt sexism in their lives. Now they have relived that personal sexism as they have viewed the sexism against Hillary Clinton, the most qualified democratic candidate. Sexism has taken away their dreams of a woman as President of the United States.

Now, these women are asked to join the Party Unity to elect the man that did nothing to stop nor ever once voiced his opposition to the sexist comments against his opponent.

If you can’t see this, then you are sexist also. This bridge that these women are supposed to cross to vote for the man does not exist, and can not be built on “just words”.

Try to get in their shoes, feel their disappointment and resentment, what would you do?

I’m as angry as are these women. The DNC is to blame. Obama and his campaign is to blame. The Talking Heads are to blame.

Our country will suffer until we all stand up to sexism and denounce it as it happens, immediately
    denounce it.

Flip this over. If for all of history, women had run our country and the world, and the first male
with the best qualifications was stopped from the nomination because of sexism and no one called it sexism, how would all the males feel? What could they do about it? Would they all come together to support the woman?

This is the dilemma we face. As a married male with three daughters, I am totally on Hillary’s side. I don’t know how to move forward except to denounce sexism at each and every opportunity when its dirty head arises.

  • Mandelay

Please don’t leave! You have great courage! Stand with us and let’s get the job done for the sake of our country.

Sorry Regency just noticed you are the author.
    Excellent post Regency!

  • Brodie

Wow- that was awesome. I can only hope he would read it and understand. You hit it right on the head and made a great case. I cannot understand why this man has done this and why the DNC enabled it, but I am praying for a miracle in any case. Visualizing something, somehow that stops this train wreck in its tracks and restores sanity is the only way I can make it through. And dear Obambi-Listen Up: I don’t want to hear your shrill little catcalls- this is MY opinion and I am entitled to it. I’m an adult. I’ve already lived through a ton of historically bad stuff, and I’ll take my comfort as I can without your nonsense. The only constant is change- and I don’t mean the kind Nobamamessiah brings- I mean the real stuff. Hey, Nobama- watch out for entropy.

Oh, and check out the Obama quote of the day.. Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. “They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

We women have been slapped down — thanks in part to the hep from women.

Thank you for putting your thoughts to words!

Excellent. Obama is a big cheesey fraud and deserves every word of that powerful ripping.

Now if someone could just do the same for a few of the Democratic puppetmasters and hypocrites….Kerry, Kennedy, Hart, Bradley, Carter, Dean, Pelosi, they might begin to take notice.

  • Curious

You shouldn’t necessarily — just trying to be fair and I didn’t appreciate certain statements that were made in Ms. Pagan’s thesis. Did you????

  • LoveAmerica

I don’t understand why the media gives Obama a pass all the time. There is much out there some true some not but much is worth a little investigating but they just let it go. Like the issue of natural citizen makes Obama not elgible to be a candidate because his mother was not American citizen for 10 years because she had him so young it wouldn’t apply or something like that, I am not a lawyer but it was well written on alot of posts and makes me believe it is true but no one challenges anywhere and that is confusing if it isn’t true you would think someone would explain it. Just saying it isn’t true is not goodenough for me.

No one has put that to rest yet to MY satisfaction and to the conrary some Greta posts clearly shows that if the follow the law he ISN’T. If that is the case how come no one heres about it on the news.??

  • tampagurl

Go Pagan Power! This is a brilliant post. I often have a vision of Barack freaking out if he actually gets the nomination. It’s as if he is blinded by his ambition, and has no idea what he has got himself into. I agree, if he were a good American, and a good Democrat he would resign, and let Hillary be the nominee. He has no business being President. There are millions of us that will never let that happen.

  • http://regencyg.livejournal.com/69390.html Regency

thank you so much for your poignant and wonderfully phrased post. I agree with it. Every time Hillary was treated badly, I felt the abuse personally. If we don’t stand up and speak out against what happened things won’t change. I’m saddened that most of his supporters don’t or won’t see past his empty suit and decry his actions. I’m even more saddened that some of these people are my relatives.

  • http://www.obama-wire.com Dave

Great piece here! Be weary of Clinton’s campaigning effort for Obama. My opinion is that Obama will not absolve Hillary’s debt unless she hits the campaign trail hard. I have seen websites posted around in forums that encourage people to help Sen. Clinton out with her debt, so she does not have to campaign for Obama.

    http://www.obama-wire.com

  • karen for Clinton

Well people who have actually BEEN on conference calls with Hillary recently say she is glad her network has stayed together to fight for her issues over the next few months. And she asked for her supporters to help reduce her debt since she doesn’t want the normal “nominee helps to pay off debt” situation if it should come to that.

She wants NO strings attached to her decisions.

That is what the woman said – as we all knew before she even said it.

I don’t understand why the media gives Obama a pass all the time.

Because they want him to be president. Media moguls from Murdoch to Sulzberger are waving the Obama Nation flag. Apparently the kingmakers prefer former actors with Alzheimers, ex-bag man dim sons, and obliging alpinists – blank slates who hold the office of POTUS as a largely ceremonial position. The actual decision making is done behind the scenes by “support” people – sometimes elected, mostly not. People with any capacity for or inclinations toward autonomous action somehow all become objects of detraction campaigns.

At least that’s how it seems. How it IS, who knows?

Back off!! The post was sincere and well written.

    Bobobolinski,

This is a vote for president of the United States. I think we need someone who is better than a person to whom we “give the benefit of the doubt!”

May I add my enthusiastic BRAVO to everyone’s here!!? I agree with you and I know you spent more than a passing moment on that post and it says soooo much of what I want to say and with all of the great and growing ANGER I have at the old Obama-idiot. However my anger at Obama is nothing compared to my anger with most of the Democratic Party and I have spent some of that anger on what the ClintonDems.com have endorsed. It has helped my depression and I don’t use that word lightly.

Regency, I so appreciate your time in saying what I feel is speaking for me and let me add: DO NOT LEAVE… although I know the feeling.

And I am sending this off to my siblings who practice law in Chicago and knew from the beginning what slime Obama was. And they tend to send things off everywhere, just everywhere.

I have been routinely emailing Hillary at her website and begging her to NOT have anything to do with Obama until yesterday when it just came over me: the best position for her to be in (short of having all the insane parts of the DNC wake up and realize what they are losing) is to be standing there smiling quietly when the second week of Nov comes and everyone around her is trying to get over McCain’s landslide win.

The Senatorial Dems and the House Dems and the DNC have so much riding on this teeny tiny little jerk of an idiot that it is horrifying and when everything is lost in the fall, how on earth do they think they will pick it all up? Well, they will never pick up the first thing without Hillary. Yes, I appreciate your time and your energy and your bravery because it is soooo difficult even talking about it.

This is so embarassing. It is the kind of thing that is done by third graders. I taught 6th grade and I have to say that I don’t believe even a 6th grader would do this…. they would be embarassed. Only someone who made up everything else about themselves would find this acceptable. It’s just one more lie.

I think it is so pathetic the candidate of change continuously changes his position on the issues. This is not the kind of hope I want. I am tired of the empty speeches; empty because they have no substance. If Obama offers a policy issue on the campaign trail, chances are it was already tried. Nothing is new from the candidate except for his success with two words. Two meaningless words.

I am sure everyone would like to know Obama has raised $161,927 from lobbyists: http://www.obama-wire.com/obama_lobbyist.htm

I am sure everyone would to know Obama has a history on the campaign trail of never taking responsibility for the actions of his campaign; instead, he passes the buck off on his campaign: http://www.obama-wire.com/Apologies.htm

And now Obama has the audacity to suggest McCain will come after him on racial ground: http://www.obama-wire.com/racecard.htm

This guy is the biggest joke since 7 minute abs.

Oops – forgot to mention that I was addressing Barack’s “new” Presidential seal with his own campaign addition in it. You know, the theft and “enhancement” of the Presidential seal. But then we know he likes to forge documents – makes one wonder if he really got a law degree. Probably threatened somebody’s wife for it.

He has literally no respect for anything. It is scary to think what he might do to the White House, no less the country.
