It’s WHOSE Meeting??

There seems to be some confusion over whose meetings these town halls are. Silly me, I thought they were held for the constituents of the particular representative or senator holding them. Evidently, I was wrong, at least according to this organizer for HCAN at the town hall held by Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) in Skokie, IL:

And if you go to the website for HCAN, check out their “Mobilization” section. It’s an eye-opener, especially in light of the charges hurled at those with questions about Health Care Reform.

Now, why do I bring this up? Don’t they have every right to be present at these meetings? Of course they do, if it is THEIR representative’s meeting. And if they want to make sure their side of the issue s represented. But to silence other people who are not there to disrupt the meeting, and who simply want to ask questions? Well, seems to me that they are doing what Rep. Pelosi accused others of doing in this clip:

And we cannot forget this one, too:

This is our Speaker of the House, the third in succession to the Presidency. Holy canoli. That is scary. One of the top Democrats who don’t understand what it means to live in a democracy. Yikes. I wonder what she will say about the practices of HCAN to drown out anyone who tries to ask a question of their elected official? Yeah, I think we know.

Well, at least ONE person in government has it right:

True that, at least last time I checked, though the way this Congress is going, who knows for how long that might be true?

And it is no surprise that Hillary Clinton is the one saying it. Clinton is most definitely a true patriot, and appreciates the rights and liberties with which we are endowed. It’s a shame too many Democrats have forgotten that…

The Democratic party is dead. If Hillary ever wants another shot at the white House, she will need to team up with other patriots, such as Sarah Palin and form that new viable third party. Obama has destroyed the Democrat party and it Democrat will be a dirty word for generations to come.

not even a spic n span cleaning will save it

Sure the Democrat party is dying, the Republican Party has been dead for some time now; Americans need an alternative.

It looks like most Americans do not have representatives that will actually listen to what they have to say.

I have to give Dennis Kucinich a lot of credit; he always listens to his constituents. We (the old people mob) met with him Thursday without any interference from union thugs and he wants to meet with us again to hear our concerns. He’s one of the few members of congress that hasn’t enriched himself on the backs of the American people. I will probably never vote for him, but he has my respect for doing his job and at least trying to understand ALL of his constituents.

Too bad there doesn’t seem to be anyone else in congress that cares.

The problem is they’re shouting an affirmative “health care now” even though it’s NONSENSICAL, which is a simpler soundbite than the complex reasons why Obamacare is a disaster.

It was Obama and his evil czars, who put the SCARE in OBAMACARE!
We have simple objectives: We only want he very best, most cutting edge, highest cure rate, most compassionate healthcare in the WORLD at an affordable rate!
We can get there by opening up insurance competition to the free market, and through tort reform.
We cannot get there with these marxist socialist radicals who screwed up healthcare so they can ostensibly fix it whilst grabbing wealth and power. THEY must GO!

Our message must be positive and succinct:
FREE MARKET INSURANCE + TORT REFORM = WORLD’S BEST HEALTHCARE
    OBAMACARE= DISASTER

All his America hate by Obama stems from Alinsky, and Hillary wrote her thesis about Alinksy! I don’t trust her, not after the Obama nightmare.

No more Alinskyites, no more Ayersites, no more marxists/socialists!…

Debate is healthy. Questions are good. Holding the feet of politicians to the fire is good. Drowning out anyone else’s chance to debate is not democratic or healthy. It’s just muscling other people around the way Obama’s Black Panthers intimidated Hillary voters. You can’t get good government through tyranny.

I don’t like Obama’s healthcare plan, but I do wonder if George W. Bush or Ronald Reagan had floated nationalized healthcare, would these same people be out disrupting the meetings?

  • tek

devil: Agree 100 %. We are not represented. I write my Congress Critters almost everyday and tell them that. I have little hope of seeing good government in this country until we have publicly funded elections. I read today the Supremes are on the verge of holding that any restriction on corporate or union contributions is unconstitutional.

  • tek

OSMC: Palin is beginning to show that she has even further right, extreme ideas than Dubya. I don’t think Hillary could run with her and I don’t think Palin could get elected.

  • HARP

Anything Obama wants congress to pass is ALL about CONTROL. If you analyze his plans in this vein, everything makes sense.

  • Ferd Berfle

Once again you’re way out in front, RRRA.

But to silence other people who are not there to disrupt the meeting, and who simply want to ask questions? Well, seems to me that they are doing what Rep. Pelosi accused others of doing

Yes indeed. The former democrats wailed like banshees when they felt they had no voice or were being stiff-armed. But, since they adhere to the two-wrongs-make-a-right and do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do brand of hypocrisy, they can take the reins of power and do the same thing without batting a jaundiced eye.

Standards of ethical conduct are apparently lost on all politicians, particularly those pig-eyed ones who have no problem with elbowing the opposition queued up at the public trough. Perhaps the time is ripe for them to be taught a stern lesson.

  • beachnan

She wrote her thesis about Alinsky-that doesn’t mean that she approves of his methods or ideas. Honestly, do not lump all Democrats together. You sound as though you have taken a page from Limbaugh’s radio program. I would respect the likes of Limbaugh and others, if they would stop the righty vs lefty stuff. Think independently!!!!!

  • beebop

But control by/for WHO? Here is a guy who can’t stay with a job for any length of time. He has no ability to focus and accomplish ANYTHING. Who is behind this? That’s my question ….

  • Sassy

Poliicians have always claimed to be meeting with the people they represent when they are away from the Capitol.
Since so many of them are flubbing these, I can only assume they meet with their allies to plan re-election strategy and make sure the fund-raising network is in place.
They seem stunned to confront questions!
I guess that is not in the job description! Thanks Amy!

    Speaking of meetings:

Obama’s UN Gambit: King of the Universe and the Polls
He’ll chair a Security Council meeting — and pander to rogue states.

Looking for a quick and easy boost in the polls, President Obama has decided to go to the one place where merit bears no relationship to adulation: the United Nations. On September 24, the president will take the unprecedented step of presiding over a meeting of the UN Security Council.

No American president has ever attempted to acquire the image of King of the Universe by officiating at a meeting of the UN’s highest body. But Obama apparently believes that being flanked by council-member heads of state like Col. Moammar Qaddafi — who is expected to be seated five seats to Obama’s right — will cast a sufficiently blinding spell on the American taxpayer that the perilous state of the nation’s economy, the health-care fiasco, and a summer of “post-racial” scapegoating will pale by comparison.

Hillary wrote her thesis about Alinsky, that’s true. But her conclusions were to reject his methods.

  • NoBamaNoWay

surprise, surprise. they’re not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

Will this be before or after flying the Chinese flag at the White House on Sept. 20th? That ought to go over well…but then again, China is the banker.

  • inconsiderable wretch

Dear Ferd Berfle, I agree with you completely. But what stern lesson will they listen to other than being voted out of office?

  • inconsiderable wretch

How embarrassing. Do they allow teleprompters at such a meeting?

  • Ashy1

But control by/for WHO? By the elites that put him in power in the first place. He’s just a front man. He doesn’t have enough native talent to get himself where he is today on his own. He was chosen because he is polished to some extent, a consummate liar, and he has African ancestry. His owners are using him to steer government in their favor through policy and government spending. For instance, our taxpayer monies will be used to invest with Georgo Soros in an oil drilling project off the Brazilian coastline. It’s payoff time for George Soros, one of BO’s largest campaign supporters.

Most Congressional Representatives could care less about actually REPRESENTING their constituents. Mine, Lois Capps, held a townhall within the confines of a friendly pro-health care AME church which only held 260 people. She made sure she had many policemen there to hold us mob mentality anti-healthcare crazies at bay. One question was asked of her “If you take a poll within your district and find that the majority of your constituents are against this healthcare bill, will you still vote for it?” She actually had this answer. “I’ll have to vote for what I think is right.” Huh???? Excuse me??? I thought they were supposed to represent the people who voted and put them into their jobs and actually LISTEN to them, but naw, naw, naw not in this Obamaland world. I thought the anti’s were going to go nuts when she answered that way – what a joke. I called her office and said I was going to work as hard as I could to get her out of office if she voted for this bill! What a bunch of arrogant asses! You’re right – the Democratic Party is dead! It’s nothing but the Radical Ass Party now.

  • no_2_cOmmies

She rejected alinsky’s methods. She concluded that Alinsky’s methods instituted in America would result in revolution. Fade stage hard left: Ford Foundation funds Cloward and Piven for 25 years allegedly working on “motor voter” using alinsky’s goals adapted to American electorate. Strangely, Cloward and Piven worked out of a sociology office at (surprise!) Columbia Univ. where Bill Ayers, George Stephanopolus, BO and a few more radicals I cant recall off hand were attending. They studied Alinsky’s IAF, and worked on improving and adapting it to a suburban and rural population. The links I had no longer are available. That alone says it all.

So,why is Hillary cutting aid, and visas to Honduras who ousted CONSTITUTIONALLY a marxist? and expanding visas to cubans?

Have we fallen through the looking glass?

  • Ferd Berfle

Throwing them out is only step one. Step two is to bring them up on charges of malfeasance and corruption while in office. If the centrists and independents of this country would stand up in unison, stamp one foot firmly on the ground, and say ENOUGH, we’d have those duty-shirkers quaking in their thousand dollar Italian shoes.

  • Ashy1

I voted for her, and these are questions that I, too, would like to ask her. I wonder how far down this road she plans to travel with BO.

  • Ashy1

I find myself wondering frequently these days if we have passed the tipping point and reached a climate where a new, viable, political party could arise.

It seems to me that when you have a structure that has become so maggot-infested and corrupted, rather than to try to rehabilitate it, it would be better to step away from it and start over.

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

See, he IS trying to be King of the World. This is how they are going to try to ease him in as world “president.” Welcome to the New World Order.

  • inconsiderable wretch

    Now you’re talking!!!

  • Ferd Berfle

It seems to me that when you have a structure that has become so maggot-infested and corrupted, rather than to try to rehabilitate it, it would be better to step away from it and start over.

Yep, time to raze the two-party system to the ground.

  • maryann

    er you mean President Soros!

  • lorac

She wrote a paper on him 40 years ago, has not followed him in her political or personal life, but you want to hold that against her….? She was also a Goldwater girl when a teenager. People try a lot of things out when they’re young, and that’s a good thing. For my part, I’ll judge someone based on what they’ve done during their adult years (the last 40 years of Hillary’s life), not what they did before they were even of legal age….
