Howard and Nancy, you two little piggies

Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi, we know you have big dollar signs in your eyes when you look at Barack Obama. But even the state fair champion “cash cow” can only produce so much. And you two know that Obama’s fundraising is slowing, and your party can’t begin to match the GOP’s soaring fundraising:

1) Obama “reported his weakest fundraising of the year, pulling in $22 million in May.”

2) John McCain “John McCain practically matched him, pulling in $21 million [in May]. Considering his cash on hand, McCain is virtually on the same financial footing as his Democratic rival.”

3) “Republican National Committee Outraises Democratic National Committee Five Times“:

To Democrats now giddy about what appears to be a huge campaign funding advantage enjoyed by presumptive Presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama, you might control your giddiness: the RNC has out-raised the DNC five times over and is expected to use its money to level the campaign funding playing field for Republican presumptive nominee Sen. John McCain.

  • Joe Smith

I guess that is the only reason he is meeting with Hillary so that he can get money from her. Little does he know that the people who supported Hillary the most will not give him a penny. More likely they will provide money to McCain.

    • beebop

Speaking as a Clinton supporter who donated during the primary to her campaign, I can tell you that I am continuing to donate to her and have made a first contribution to John McCain. So your assumption is correct. Not only that, but the DNC can kiss the tips of my fingers and will not ever again see one thin dime.

      • Thomas

Let’s work to get Hillary the nomination.

        • HillGirl

How?! Our country needs her! What to do???

      • BluDawg

        ditto!

        • Anee

I donated to McCain too and will continue to until the piggies change their minds and put Hillary on the top of the ticket.

    • R Thatcher

Are you truly that naive and uninformed? Clinton has massive campaign debts to pay off. She needs Obama’s financial help at the moment — not the other way around. You people seem to exist in some alternate universe.

      • Mark

        They’re absolutely delusional.

        • Betty

Let’s work to get Hillary the nomination.

          • Betty

            do I hear a “ditto”

            • drkate

              ditto here!

              • scorbs

                Ditto!!!!

                • elise

                  Ditto!

        • scorbs

Delusional is Barky’s thought he can raise $600 million.

That the party is listening to him and superdelegates as well is delusional.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Not really……the biggest debt is to herself. LOL*

20 million….11 to her. Who knows how much of the 20 million is “soft” debt.

        • Mary

She has already said she’s going to write off her own $11 million debt—not a big deal.

The other $9 million is to her vendors, and her own supporters will help retire that.

          She doesn’t need Obama’s $$ or donors.

Obama and the DNC need HER donors, so they can pay convention bills.

        • blkmn(real) HRC supporter

Thanks for using the FACTS, like you(AnninCa) ALWAYS do!!! She is just trying to pay the 10 million, that’s owe to the vendors. I guess the NObama money machine ISN’T turning like use to. lol!!!! McCain 21.8/NObama 21.9 in May. NObama08

      • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

The Clintons need only write a book and have some speaking engagements for the next year to pay off their own debt. That’s how it’s always been done. Now if Barky wants to pay off the debt, I would say he had better get humping because his fundraising is drying up and the DNC only has 3.x million on hand while the RNC has 53+ million on hand. So let’s not make this guy out to be Warren Buffett. I do suppose that, now that he has renigged on his promise to take public funding, which he proclaimed to be a wonderful thing and now proclaims is “Broken” might help him, especially with those middle eastern friends he has.

Make no mistake. Your messiah needs Clinton’s top contributors and he needs them now.

      • drkate

how’s that fake presidential seal going for you? you think he can raise money on that while everyone is laughing?

Obambi won’t help her with the debt. That’s alright–HRC is king maker now, the superstar and President in either 2008 or 2012…when McCain retires.

By that time Barky will be serving is 3rd year in prison.

        • Clinton Fan

I guess he figures that seal is a step up from that giant picnic paper plate he had working before…!

      • Deep Truths

She wants only $8M in debt for her vendors. She has magnanimous said that she will take care of her own debt of $14M. Still has $40M for the GE.

Its possible that a lot of BOs donors were republicans aiming to keep Clinton out of the GE. Now they will donate to McClain. Bitch is the new black.

        • scorbs

He thinks he’s going to “whip” up $600 million for the GE. Probably with a real whip. I hope he gets what he deserves: everyone’s cold shoulder.

        • dee4hill

          Sisterhood, yes!

          Bitch IS the new black!

          Hillary or McCain ’08!

          • Someone

Bitch may be the new black, but Black is the new president, Bitch!

In all seriousness, if you’re going to wax on about a sexist media cycle, you’d best cut the derogatory shit out of your own life right now. What Tina Fey had to say was downright disgusting, and to quote it with glee is a true sign that what you people say has a clear disconnect from what you people do. The best part is how screwed your cause truly is.

You have two possible paths – 1 is that you ultimately fail to bring any sort of impact, resulting in short term mockery from the sane and rational world, followed by falling into a dark corner of history. Thats your best bet, being overlooked by history.

Alternative, you’ll actually be effective in handing the nomination over. Your fundraising blockade of the DNC would result in down-ticket races being lost to the republicans, to the point that easy and sweeping wins in the legislature turn to nothing. You put McCain in the white house, and clap your hands for Hillary in 2012. But then, you see McCain replace a few supreme court justices. You see a continued war in Iraq, and even new ones in the middle east. You see an economy continuing to crumble.

We arrive at 2012 seeing a supreme court poised to overturn roe v. wade. We see our country further in peril, moving backwards, rapidly, from even the despair of 2008. And we see the return of Hillary Clinton, and her rabid fanbase. What do you see as the media narrative there? I’ll tell you right now. The first serious, wonderful female presidential candidate was more than prepared for the job, and the country obviously ready to welcome a woman. But it was in her fanbase that clearly, people weren’t ready. They weren’t ready to treat a female candidate as a candidate, no, to them, it was a messiah. And in the defeat of their oh-mighty candidate, a bloc of supporters sold their rights down the river, they sold their causes down the river. They sold womens rights down the river. They no longer were a part of any proud, democratic tradition. Nay, they had come to feed at the hand of their new God, all praises be to HRC.

If you don’t think thats how the media narrative would go, then you dont believe what you’ve been spewing. That storyline would sell papers. That storyline would bring the viewers in, more than any other means of summing up the ridiculous turn of events you aspire to cause. Go ahead and do it, but I will not feel one ounce of sorrow for all of you. And I will do my damnedest to make sure you all receive your proper blame for such a ridiculous, entitled mentality.

      • stodghie

well she will have to get in line it seems. the city of denver is looking for money. the dnc is cash strapped and obama is not bringing nearly as much. who knew?

        • jnm594

Wonder if Dipshit Dean will have the roll call vote now at the convention???? LOL! Payback is a bitch!

        • dee4hill

Really! The DNC is hard up right now. I was reading where they’re having to cancel some of the usual parties, because they’re so low on funds.

In the past 2 weeks I’ve gotten 2 mail pieces – one from the DNC and one from Obamessiah. I wrote a scathing letter, and told them I’d contribute “WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER” and then mailed it back to them, taped to the high Heavens.

They will have to go through all the tape and then open it up and read the letter and realize – NO MONEY from me.

But I thanked them for the FREE POSTAGE! LOL

          Hillary or McCain’08!

      • JoseyJ

Obama is in trouble! He needs votes AND money from Hillary supporters, but he’s too arrogant to admit it.
So – he breaks a promise on public financing to try to make up the difference.
Just like Bush, Obama believes the ends justify the means.

        Obama/Wright08

        • http://deleted AnninCa

Oh yes, that’s clear. You steal 4 Hillary delegates in a hot, hot, hot election and dream that won’t set off a barnstorm rejection?

          Yes, arrogance is the word.

          Another word?

          Stupid.

He may have gamed caucuses, but that’s all he’s gamed.

He’s not such a hot-shot politician after all, is he?

He’s the penny-ante guy. He’ll take Idaho over the GE.

      • alee21

I donated the maximum to Hillary and I will not donate to Obama, not now not ever.

Obamaites you can keep this tirade of insults up but it won’t do you or your candidate any good. Just show your limited appreciation of the division within the party and how your candidate’s appeal is fading by the day.

Obama is a pathological liar – at least his never ending effrontery and daily gaffes make for cheap entertainment.

Methinks he has a career in stand up comedy acts in places like Trinity.

      • karen for Clinton

        What a load of baloney.

If the Clinton’s collaborated on a BOOK about this past year they could get way more than her debt upfront.

If they told what they know about obama it would be a bestseller.

so screw off now. nobody here is going to buy your bs that she NEEDS him in any f’n way.

    • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

      yep

I maxed out primary funds to Hillary
my hubby is contributing to her now to help Retire the Debt

      no dough to OBO
I sent mccain 5.44 in May, waiting for the convention and then will max out to McCain if Hill is not vindicated and they dont wake the hexx up..

    • fran

I know through a direct contact that Hillary’s top donors are stonewalling Obama. David Plouffe had a meeting with them, and surprise surprise, turned them off with his arrogance. Then, Patti SD’s Chief of Staff appointment for VP, and Obama’s meeting with the Women’s Black Caucus this week when he said McCain’s record re: women would help them “get over it” made it worse. They are meeting with BO and Hillary this week, but only as a courtesy to Hillary. He’s burned so many bridges, and he still doesn’t know how to be humble and diplomatic. It’s just not in him–Mr. Uniter.

Can you imagine him trying to negotiate with hostile foreign leaders? He will whine and pout and antagonize them more.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Interesting……I know he angered the Latino caucus in Washington, too.

      • ea

I hope they all donate with checks in the amount of $0.00. Making sure to write, of course, “ZERO dollars and NO cents.”

Some of them might not be able to resist writing, “ZERO SUPPORT and NO SENSE.”

        • Anee

Some great graphic designer should create a fake check for us to print out and send to the piggies.

That’s GREAT NEWS if it’s TRUE, I really HOPE so!!!!! NObama08

      • mimi

I’m love hearing that this fool is really this arrogant. All I have to go on are my gut instincts (which have been pretty reliable for me in the past). And Obama’s public missteps.

It’s great to have my feelings about him validated through actual reports.

        Keep those coming in folks!!!

      • scorbs

Oh no, Fran, according to David Brooks Obama is masterful on the inside and outside. He’s unscrupulous when playing inside politics, just the kind of guy to face off Putin. David Brooks is a republican and a complete numskull. Where do these guys get this from? Don’t republicans have the intelligence to know that Obama’s two-facedness will catch up with him and his immaturity and arrogance will do him in?

People are not going to respond to it at some point. Hopefully sooner than later.

I always said it was Clinton with the emotional maturity to unite the party.

      • dee4hill

Yea, and if the foreign leaders don’t play into his hands, he’ll get his “boys” to call them racists.

        Hillary or McCain ’08!

    • susan

If ALL 18 million of us Hillary supporters were to donate $1.00 per week to the McCain campaign, that would be $72 million dollars per MONTH, more than enough to beat Obama and friends at their money game, even though Hillary has shown that Obama can be beat, even when he outspends 3 to 1. What say, all??? Shall we do this??? Let’s propose this to JustSayNoDeal to get this off the ground, and to teach Obama and the DNC a much needed lesson!!!

      • drkate

let’s do this to retire her debt first, then fund mccain. so how about $2 from every supporter?

  • Joe Smith

I also think that Obama got a lots of money from Republicans who wanted to see him compete against McCain instead of Hillary. After all he is by far the weakest candidate in the general election. By the time August rolls around people will get tiered of him. Especially the young voters who have the attention span of a mouse on speed.

    • Northwest rain

I agree — never before has any unqualified candidate had practically an unlimited budget for the Primary season.

Many seasoned political geeks have been predicting that obama’s money source would dry up — and this seems to be happening.

The GOP pacs haven’t yet begun their ad campaigns — they have so much material to work with — their biggest problem will be which area of the Obama corruptness should they target for maximum shock.

      • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

the Dems in Congress have helped him all the way with his dirty money
they blocked appts to the FEC so no one is minding the store

same with the FED they are blocking new seats so their puppet can appoint whomever they tell him too

no doubt more General Electric board members..

        ugh

please try to find an alternative to your local OBOT SDs who agrees with your positions everybody and help them, please let your SDs know you are helping them too!!

consider helping Ed O Reilly, replacement for Kerry !!

I know of no one running against Barney
          Frank. Do you?
And sorry to sound so insensitive but once Kennedy is gone, that race should be real interesting.

          • stodghie

well, kennedy will stay and hold his seat till his health gives way. after that the governor will appoint a replacement. i don’t know that ma’s rules about special elections. i presume it will most probably be a democrat, but who knows these days.

            • elise

I believe it is an appointment by the gov.,but I have the impressions it will be another Democrat, possibly a member of his family. Does anyone know if this will effect his endorsement? I know that vote can’t be cast long distance, but will they appoint a super to replace him?

          • Linda C.

Barney Frank was a big Hillary supporter. Probably one of the brightest people in Congress. He also stood up and defended Bill Clinton on the impeachment hearings while all of the other democrats ran with their tail between heir legs.

    • Obama is a bum

I have talked to several Republicans who feel McCain is too liberal and are mad that he is their candidate. They also think the Democrats did them a favor by nominating Obama who will screw up so bad that the Republicans will win in 2012.

I agree with this viewpoint. I believe Obama is incredibly inept and would be soundly defeated in 2012. If the Democratic leadership had any brains they would dumped Obama when the Wright fiasco hit. Hillary probably would have won two terms. She should not campaign for Obama. Her only chance is for McCain to win and she gets the chance in 2012.

      • Lucinda

But I have a hard time believing that the Republican Right Wing is going to cast a vote for Obama just because they don’t like McCain. I personally know too many of those folks, and they’re going to hold their nose and vote for McCain. The last thing they want is Obama in charge of national security.

        • BluDawg

The Republicans will line up behind McCain in the end.

          They always line up.

It will be down to turn out, and I believe they can bring out the “worried” base with the threat of 0buma.

        • elise

It would be an interesting concept that Hillary’s supporters could screw up both parties.

      • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

I think it is so imperative that people get out and vote McCain for his very reason
depressed GOP turnout for moderate McCain..

        and depressed DEM turnout

leaving a perfect opportunity for vote stealin Chicago shenanigans…

Faux doing story right now on people voting illegally in two areas..glad to see the GOP is awake..

repubs are not going to allow obama the wh if they can help it. look at the history of the repubs. they get mad and yell but they come home. there isn’t nearly the division in the repub party as in the democratic party. no way!

        Exactly!

BO has gotten more passes than anyone but G. Bush.

Just imagine if Hillary had gone to a racist anti-semitic church! She would have been lynched by the DNC!

Just imagine if Hillary said there were 57 states!

Just imagine if Hillary had hung out with thugs & communists!

There are 100 more just imagines.

        Wake-up Super D’s!

We keep sending their letters begging for money back to them, at their expense. We won’t spend the postage on them.

And I got a call from the Obama campaign asking for money and told them no.

We will be giving our money to Sen. McCain’s campaign from now on.

    • Thomas

The convention is in August. It’s not over yet.

      • Northwest rain

I really want to believe you Thomas.

But I also get the sense that the DNC has deliberately backed the loser Obama — and it doesn’t matter what the majority of voters want.

        • Thomas

Think that the party leaders are developing buyers remorse.

Something I picked up over the past week is how most of A list VP names are taking themselves out of contention for the second spot on the ticket.

The Latino vote is cool to El Hombre, also.

Either you haven’t been a political junkie for long (which is what I suspect) or you are a fool (hey, I suspect that too!).

It is June. Even George McGovern and Mike Dukakis, both of whom Obama is channeling, had DOUBLE DIGIT leads by the time they were the nominee. June is not October. The very thought of listening to your childish drool about polls between now and October, when the polls REALLY count, is enough to make me wish a new Rap Star would come onto the scene to keep you occupied.

You need to go back to the Mothership and get some of those copy and paste messages they hand out. I would suggest finding one that explains FISA. That should be fun to read.

..or maybe a nice copy and paste of why it is that Obama’s funding is drying up and he has to beg Clinton to talk her top fundraisers, who despise him, into writing checks.

Did anybody mention to you that the DNC has roughly $3 million on hand and the RNC has $53 million right now? Or that Obama had his lowest fundraising month yet? This might help explain his refusal to use public funding, which he lOVED and now calls broken because he needs to collect soft money. I bet Hamas would be glad to help out. I KNOW Pockiston Pakistan will.

              • JoseyJ

You need to get your facts straight most hispanics are true conservatives. The majority will be voting for McCain in droves. They are not stupid and will not vote for another inexperienced (Obama)President like Bush who allows himself to be manipulated like a puppet by the old codger politicians.

        • dpvegas

That’s what we’ve been seeing the past 6-7 months. The DNC seems to have decided this and they’ve not been willing to back down one little bit. I’ll believe it when I start hearing Dean and Pelosi doing some back pedaling. Think that Brazille would have the back bone to do the same (I’ll not hold my breath for that)?

So, for now, not one red cent of our money goes anywhere near the DNC. Not one. We want to contribute nothing to BO, either directly or indirectly. And we’ve not given to McCain…yet.

          • stodghie

they can’t afford to back pedal now. they are in too deep. i also think they have factored in losing but have false ideas about many future voters and all that money. you know like obama raised for them in may which was less than mccain raised.

            • http://deleted AnninCa

I agree. But, they didn’t really get those new voters in.

Well – when your choices are “really bad” or “much worse,” doesn’t give one much incentive to vote – let alone contribute monetarily.

Why can’t McCain wake up and realize that our economy CANNOT support the continuing war in the Middle East, let alone him wanting to wage war in Iran! Repubs and war-mongering…AGHHHHH!!!

            PLEASE COME BACK HILLARY!!!

        • http://none donnal

Get your a…. moving, write to the DNC, ask for his birth certificates, marriage certificates, school records, his baptismal records…question them for the documents. This information should be part of their records, as you are sure that he provided these documents, because that is why they are supporting him because he is qualified to be the President, is he not?

Ask why he has been uncooperative and forthcoming, ask why they support him, why they are changing the rules, giving him delegates he didn’t earn and trying to keep Hillary off the first ballot…They must be sure? Right?

Write to superdelegates let them know that you are concerned about his associations and associates.

Post, blog, and tell everyone that we need a full disclosure on his entire life, not what he would like it to be . Many voices can not be discredited… keep the debate and discussions straight, don’t give into smears. Honest differences are what will send those Supers back to Hillary before August.

The DNC is essentially broke. They made their bed. The city of Denver is pissed off. Dean and Pelosi look like the gang who couldn’t coup straight.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

Their excitment over his fundraising was in error. The same doners are not responding to the DNC requests, obviously. That’s because in large part these are not the traditional Democrats. There is no party loyalty.

I have zip sympathy. I think Dean is a failure as the head of the DNC, and his problem with Denver is just the tip of the iceberg.

I think they were hoping Obama would transfer some of that fundraising power to them. It hasn’t happened.

Why isn’t Obama requesting funds for the DNC from his doners? Because his own finances aren’t as solid as expected. Why? He overspent. Undercampaigned and overspent.

  • hootnannie

The Obama camp itself thought up the “Democrat for a Day” scheme, and yet it never occurred to its minions that the Repubs involved weren’t doing it out of the goodness of their hearts?!

One thing the Republicans do en masse that Democrats don’t do is fall into line. WHen November 4 rolls around, they will vote for their candidate even if he doesn’t give them everything they want. They tend to shy away from the concept of socialism.

  • Joe Smith

    Thomas,

I am not sure that at this point the DNC would be able to reverse it self even if it wanted to. The DNC has moved to Chicago and has no money. It could not be in a worst situation. They basically bet the farm on this guy and will have to watch it being repossessed.

    • Thomas

The DNC is out of money because they shafted Hillary. If Obama can’t raise money and the MSM turn on him, what good is he to the DNC and our chances in November.

The FISA vote this is the beginning of the end for Obama.

      • Joe Smith

I hope you are right. I would love to see Hillary as our next POTUS.

Robbed: the only group of GOP voters of any significance that I’m aware of that are Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos voters. They voted for Hillary to keep her in the race as long as possible. I’m not aware that any were contributing funds though.

If other republicans were crossing over to vote for Obama I don’t think that was part of any organized effort Though i could be wrong.

      • apishapa

Are you nuts or just completely clueless? Who ran ads in Nevada and every other state with either open balllots or same day registation asking Republicans to register as “Democrats for a Day” Who bragged constantly about his “Obamacans”? Who constantly touted his “reach across the aisle” crap and who loved him some Ronald Reagan? Wasn’t Hillary.

Obama deliberately set out to win primaries using nonDemocrats as a pretty large part of his base. Starting in Iowa he appealed constantly to non-Democrats for support and asked them to vote in the Democratic primaries. That has been one of my biggest objection to him, asking non-Democrats to select the Democratic Party nominee.

Obama sent out flyers against Universal Health Care. He was not appealing to Democrats with that. Obama has gotten where he is by appealing to voters with non-Democratic ideals. I am leaving the party I’ve supported for 35 years, because of the lies this flim-flam man and his DNC pals have told.

Hillary never asked for Republicans to vote for her. Never.

apishapa: Maybe you should read the words people use…

          “that I’m aware of”

” Though i could be wrong.”

So. no.. I dont think I’m nuts, I think I accurately stated the tentativeness of what I was saying. Thank you for taking the time to respond as if I hadn’t.

          • apishapa

I think you haven’t paying attention then. It has been right out front all the time. Obama courted Republicans from day one. Loudly and often. Hillary Clinton did not.

If you did not see his ads and his speeches asking for Republicans to vote “Democrat for a Day”, you have been asleep. Why are you “tentatively” suggesting Hillary is guilty of receiving votes from Republicans (without ever asking for them) while not mentioning Obama’s constant appeals to Republican voters?

There is something vaguely familiar about your writing style and choice of words and I don’t mean from this blog.

In any case, I’m afraid I don’t understand your objections to phrases which are rarely used as qualifiers, but a way to fill in sentence structure.

A case in point brings back anger and disgust with the news media. Before the Ohio election, Sen. Clinton agreed to an interview with 60 Minutes and one of the first questions from Steve Kroft was whether she believed Sen. Obama was Muslim. The question was a set up and a smug “gotcha”. Sen. Clinton’s response was “No”. Steve Kroft waited just a shade too long instead of moving on to the next question. In the silence, Sen. Clinton added, “Not that I know of”.

Her answer was a very clear “No” and it wasn’t a question she should have been asked to begin with. He followed up with two more questions on the same subject and the confusion on her face was evident.

Now here you are. Attacking phraseology and ignoring intent. I will never forgive the media if for no other reason than this. People, including the media idiots, still say she cast doubt on his religious affiliation based on this “bamboozle”. The media reaction should have been predictable given the recent history, but it still sickened me and does to this day.

Please don’t play these games with people who are obviously superior to you in intelligence. Your comment is ridiculous beyond belief.

I want to confirm what Obama is a bum said about the Republicans.

I find it amazing that the GOP is near the fund raising amount of the DNC. Most of the republican party donors are boycotting their donations until the party gets it into their head the policy platform that the conservatives will no longer tolerate the Republicans only giving lip service to (primarily fiscal responsibility)

Even though I’m conservative and thought that Hillary was at the heart of most of the 1990s scandals, I think I would really like to see a McCain / Clinton ticket.

I think the shock of that would create the once in a lifetime chance to re-orient and spring-clean our parties , and who knows, maybe even provide the opportunity for having some mutual respect for one another while realizing we each think the other side’s ideas are totally wrong.

    .

    • SandyS

That would be a great ticket and would guarantee a win in November. You’re right, in that I would never agree politically with John McCain. But John McCain and I have one thing in common that Barack Obama and I do not. John McCain and I both love our country. Obama, not so much.

      • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 Vince P

Sandy: I do believe that Hillary loves her country. And I think we all have come to love it a little bit more this year. I don’t know about you, but there’s a bit of dread going in most people’s mind I think.

I think we know how much there is to lose and how crazy we’d be if we didn’t fight for it and protect it.. which is what you folks are doing and I admire you for it. I wish the conservatives who are still boycotting McCain would come to the same realization.

        • YoNoForObama

I’d vote for a McCain/Hillary ticket in a hot minute!

    • BernieO

Hillary was at the heart of most of the 1990 scandals? Oh really? The only big scandal that was based in fact was Monica. Do you think Hillary set that up?

He was advised by the head of the Arkansas CCC (upscale KKK, Justice Jim Johnson, to give the Feds something on Clinton to cut a deal. I have recently met a family in my region in Italy by the name of Pelosi. I am learning more and more every day that Italians are for Obama — and very proud of Nancy Pelosi, of course.

    • Centrocitta

With Joe Biden from Delaware on Obama’s ticket, it will be an even sweeter victory for Italy and all of Catholic Europe. When Biden was a young Senator, he wrote a paper on Poland and was then invited to the Vatican to meet with the Polish Pope. Biden and Pelosi have strong connections to Italy. Italy is the biggest friend in Europe to the USA. I’m sure the Obama campaign is more than aware of the positive affect his administration will have on all of Catholic Europe and on all of the millions of Catholics in the USA. After the manner in which Bush screwed up America’s relationship with Europe, we really don’t need the wife of a former Bible Belt president in the White House.

      • BernieO

And we should be worried about CATHOLIC Europe why……? Italy has been the biggest friend of ours lately because that crook Prime Minister Berlusconi (the Italian Rupert Murdoch) loves Bush. I can guarantee he won’t feel the same way about a Democrat. He’s all about business and controlling the media.
Most of Europe is not religious so I see no reason to pander to the Catholics there.

        • Centrocitta

You don’t know much about your country, do you? Italy is the biggest friend to USA because Italian-Americans are the largest and most successful ethnic group and have made the most contributions to America since 1900. These days, I don’t know one, single family in Italy that does not have relatives in the USA. Italians don’t forget! Roman Catholics on Obama’s ticket will be good for all of Europe. And it’s so refreshing that Obama himself does not have a Bible Belt mentality. The only people who can identify with that mentality are Americans who call themselves born-again.

          • Lucinda

BO may not have a Bible Belt mentality, but he does have a BLACK LIBERATION mentality….which does NOT play well here, trust me.

May I suggest you worry about your own country?

Catholics here are NOT going to vote for BO just because a Catholic is on the ticket. John Kerry ring a bell? Did you pay any attention to what the republicans did to him in the ’04 election? Hell, the church refused to give him communion just because of his stance on abortion! Also, the Hispanic Catholic voters are much more powerful in numbers than the Italian Catholics.

16 million Italians live here, just 6% of the total population. Most of those are Catholic, but not all and not all of them vote Democratic! Hell, 2 of my best friends are Italian Catholics and are republicans as are their entire families.

44.3 MILLION Hispanics live in the U.S. and most of them are Catholic.

Looks to me like the Italians are just a tad outnumbered? Hispanics supported Hillary OVERWHELMINGLY here. Having a Catholic on the ticket will mean squat to BO.

            • Centrocitta

Yeah, I paid attention to what the Bible Belt republicans did to Kerry in 04 and that’s why it’s not going to happen again, believe me!

As far as my own country. I’m a Texas resident and a natural-born American citizen. I vote and I pay taxes — just like you — so I am worrying about my own country — the USA!!

That still changes NOTHING I posted. The Italian Catholic vote is MINIMAL compared to the Hispanic Catholic Vote which overwhelming favored Clinton. CA? PR? TEXAS??? In Texas she won 67% of the Hispanic votes! She slaughtered BO with the Hispanic vote and she also slaughtered him with the Catholic vote. His Black Liberation theology doesn’t sit well with most Catholics I imagine. Just as it doesn’t sit well with most people who have a brain.

They skipped the invite to meet with him, except for one from CA.

What we may see is just not much support from Latino politicians, which is really how it’s done in that community. They are the ones who get out the vote.

If they just take a pass, then the turnout drops. He’ll not get much mileage out of Latinos.

He’ll have to split it with McCain, too. Latinos are very familiar with McCain’s immigration bill that failed last year. They know him. They respect his military background. And they don’t know Obama. They LOVED Hillary.

Well that’s One. Do not purport to speak for the rest of us.

          • Erasmus

I’m Irish from Catholic Ireland and am distinctly unenthused by the prospect of an Obama presidency.

          • memyself&i

I find your comments repugnant. Your attempt to create bad feelings between people of different ethnic backgrounds, race, and religion is transparent. No one is falling for it.

        • Tuppence 411

The Catholic vote in the United States is solidly behind Hillary Clinton. Her policies most accurately reflect the combined principals of social justice with personal responsibility US Catholics strive towards. Strike that- all people of good-will strive towards.

Obama’s connection to “Liberation Theology” was the final straw. We know the mix of politics and religion is fatally flawed and dangerous. Speaking of the “Polish” Pope- the best commentary on “Liberation Theology” is the famous picture of John Paul the II wagging his finger and admonishing a kneeling Rev. Ernesto Cardenal in Nicaragua.

          • Centrocitta

Apparently not ALL Catholics in USA are behind Hillary because she’s not the nominee!

            • Tuppence 411

“Catholic voters favored Sen. Hillary Clinton over Illinois Senator Barack Obama by a 2-1 margin.” Those are the FACTS my Italian pen pal. In states such as PA and FLA it was as high as 3 to 1. BTW, don’t you know Nobama’s spiritual leader for 20 years called you all “garlic noses”?

              • Centrocitta

Yes, I heard about Obama’s spiritual leader having said that. But that man grew up in Germantown, a sub-burb of Philadelphia. His neighborhood was invaded by Italian-American kids from South Philly every weekend when they attended the dances at Wagners Ballroom. Lots of these types of exchanges took place so believe me, this kind of insult slides right off our backs and this is NOTHING compared to the racial names blacks have had to endure. Really, you should be ashamed for using this petty tactic as an argument with an Italian-American. Apparently you are the one who’s offended because Obama is half black and has some Muslim background and you’re a racist who can’t deal with any of it.

I’m Italian-American in Chicago and fuck Rev Wright and Fuck Barack Hussien Obama Winfrey , and fuck that racist church… and fuck whoever foisted this circus on the whole country.

I’m so sick of people throwing around “racist” as a catch-all word to delegitimize what someone is saying.

                  So Centrocitta: Fuck you too.

            • It’s Not Me

Neither is Obama the nominee! The DNC stole the nomination for BO. They FORCED Hillary to drop out. Weren’t you paying attention?

Hillary has the popular vote and neither candidate won enough pledged delegates to win the nomination! PLUS:

              Some Findings:

              * 35.6 million people have voted
              * The 37 primary states account for 97% of the vote.
              * The 13 caucus states account for 3% of the vote.

Bottom line: Clinton’s lead is from 34.5 million voters (97%) in Primaries. Obama’s lead is from 1.1 million voters (3%) in caucuses.

BO is illegitimate and this isn’t over yet. He’s ONLY the “PRESUMPTIVE” Nominee. We have until August for the Super Delegates to come to their senses.

            • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

Catholics tend not to feel comfortable about candidates who attend Whackjob churches that hate white people and accuse this Goddamned country of giving Aids to black people.

Catholics have always been a clinton base. But I wouldn’t worry too much about it. There are only 76 million of them.

I’m sure the Obama campaign is more than aware of the positive affect his administration will have on all of Catholic Europe” BWAHAHAHAHA! And this is SUPPOSED to mean squat? Has Italy finished a war on the same side it started on since the fall of the Roman Empire? “Chatholic Eurpoe”???? Who gives a flying fark at a rolling doughnut what “Chatholic Europe” or Chatholic ANYTHING thinks for that matter?

        • Centrocitta

…..Has Italy finished a war on the same side it started on since the fall of the Roman Empire?…..

And who gives a flying fuck about WARS but a Warmonger like yourself? By the way, how do you like paying $5.00/gal for gas? Is it starting to cramp your American style a little?

I was against the war before we EVER illegally invaded Iraq. So take your bullshit Obama talking point and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.

            • Centrocitta

Again about that gasoline problem! LOL. How are you going to like paying $6.00/gal after Israel attacks Iran? Oh, but I bet you’re not opposed to Israeli Zionists the way you’re opposed to Italian Catholics. Italian Catholics arn’t your problem, silly. Israeli Zionists are your problem!

Let’s see here, Israel has the DUTY to defend herself. I don’t agree with everything they do, but Iran with nukes is a threat. And by the way, didn’t Carter violate his security clearance by publicly revealing that Israel has nukes? Any thoughts here? Not a lawyer myself.
And by thoughts, I mean thoughts, not obamaspeak.

                  • Centrocitta

……Let’s see here, Israel has the DUTY to defend herself……

Then you must have the DUTY to pay $6.00/gal for gas, right? Maybe even $7 or up to $10 because it’s your duty!

Do you hear that, Americans? Kevin says it’s your DUTY to buy gas at these prices. But is Kevin going to support you when you lose your job because you can’t afford to get to it?

                    • drkate

hey troll. you obviously know nothing about why gas prices are the way they are.

and your comments are increasingly desperate. what’s wrong? didn’t the campaign give you the right talking points today?

Just wait until Obama let’s down the defenses and IRan attacks you and all your friends over there.

obama is world war III in the making.

                    • Kevin

Oh where do I begin you anti-semitic wretch? What is the price of gas in the EU? Quick! Europeans have been paying higher gas prices for decades. In fact if the US hadn’t enjoyed paying below market rates for gasoline for decades, we would not be driving, Hummers, Escalades, Expeditions, and if the prices we have paid for gasoline had increased at normal rates, guess what you dolt? We would be paying MORE. Isreal as a sovereign state has the DUTY to defend herself. I said it again. Iran’s president has vowed to obliterate Isreal. He is developing uranium enriching capabilities, supposedly for reactor fuel. HOPE and CHANGE that one away. A nuclear armed Iran is a direct threat to Israel, Iran has missles capable of carrying nuclear warheads and reaching Israel. If Israel bombs their centrifuge facility, that’s good for the world. I for one would rather pay more for gas (or take public transportation like I in fact do) than live in a world with a nuclear armed thoecracy in Iran. In fact, maybe it will get America off its dependance on oil, think about that in between sips of kool-aide.
You are a troll, you claim to be american, but also claim to be italian. You have no idea of what to call yourself (although I have a couple of ideas). You think Obama will be able to use his mesmerising charm on Ahmadinejad? That’s insanity. BO will be able to wave his magic hopey wand and turn the middle east into a land full of flowers and love? bull shite!

stodghie: I don’t think it will make a difference in the long run.

This is from Boston Globe today:

IN 1965, the population of Italy was 52 million, of which 4.6 million, or just under 9 percent, were children younger than 5. Today, the figures are 2.5 million and 4.2 percent.

[I pasted a lot more but then I found this story from Moscow and thought it was more fun then boring numbers]

              Moscow 2041.
              26 May 2008
              By Richard Lourie

Dec. 25, 2041. Moscow. Today, President Dmitry Medvedev presided over the 50th anniversary of the collapse of the Soviet Union, now a national holiday marked by parades, speeches and a spike in drunk-driving fatalities.

Operating on the principle that if you must have a president, then the fewer the better, Russia has re-elected Dmitry Medvedev for the seventh time. The constitutional prohibition on serving more than two consecutive terms has been scrupulously observed throughout. Elected in 2008 and again in 2012, Medvedev was replaced by Vladimir Putin in 2016. After Putin’s second term ended in 2024, Medvedev was re-elected by an overwhelming majority of the vote with the Kasparov-Yavlinsky-Limonov-Zyuganov bloc receiving only 960 votes nationwide. Medvedev served from 2024 to 2032 before stepping down. Aided by 21st-century medical breakthroughs, Putin was able to serve again from 2032 to 2040, completing his second term at 87 years old and looking like he was no older than 60.

Running on a platform of “continuity and experience,” Medvedev won re-election in 2040 by a landslide, and the Kasparov-Yavlinsky-Limonov-Zyuganov bloc splintered into five separate parties.

As Russia’s democracy evolved along its own specific, sovereign path, there were many calls to change the title of the country’s ruler. Some thought president sounded too American, while others thought it sounded too much like rezident, the word for an espionage station chief (of course, a certain contingent favored it for precisely that reason). Among the new titles proposed was “tsarident,” briefly popular because of its historical inclusiveness, but in the end Medvedev ruled that “president” was best.

But just what sort of society will Medvedev be ruling 50 years after the fall of the Soviet Union? There are three basic possibilities — ruin, muddling through or triumphant success.

Russia comes to ruin by failing to diversify its economy, relying even more on oil (After Gazprom moves its headquarters to St. Petersburg, it is nicknamed Petrolgrad.) But the invention of a cheap oil substitute, which made yet another American geek fabulously wealthy, puts the country out of business. Russia becomes simply one of Europe’s utilities, supplying natural gas. The souther Muslim republics secede without fanfare or bloodshed. China gobbles up chunks of the Russian Far East, and Siberia debates becoming a country of its own as it had been briefly after the 1917 Revolution. The birth rate continues to fall, and some sardonic commentators suggest importing the United States’ illegal immigrants from Mexico on the theory that Latin lovers might spike up the birth rate.

As long as Zoroastrians remained in the majority, their lives were tolerable; but once the Moslems became the more numerous, a petty but pervasive harassment was apt to develop. This was partly verbal, with taunts about fire-worship, and comments on how few Zoroastrians there were in the world, and how many Moslems, who must therefore posses the truth; and also on how many material advantages lay with Islam. The harassment was often also physical; boys fought, and gangs of youth waylaid and bullied individual Zoroastrians. They also diverted themselves by climbing into the local tower of silence and desecrating it, and they might even break into the fire-temple and seek to pollute or extinguish the sacred flame. Those with criminal leanings found too that a religious minority provided tempting opportunities for theft, pilfering from the open fields, and sometimes rape and arson. Those Zoroastrians who resisted all these pressures often preferred therefore in the end to sell out and move to some other place where their co-religionists were still relatively numerous, and they could live at peace; and so another village was lost to the old faith.”

Did you not get the message last week that Obama is now courtng the Evangelical community? Obama may not be from the Bible Belt, but he never met a religious faction he wouldn’t pander to. It was just a couple of years ago he gave a speech to an Evangelical group scolding Democrats for not being sufficiently religious. Personally, I see no difference between bigoted white religious groups and bogoted black religious factions. He has been a bible thumping member of one of those churches for over twenty years.

I do not believe Biden will be on the ticket unless Obama runs completely out of other choices. Biden has a big mouth and he will say not keep it shut. He is very opinionated and most of those opinions do not match Obama’s. I’ve been a Catholic all my life, but I do not let the Pope or anyone else tell me how to vote.

I wonder how it feels to know you’ve alienated every single person who could REALLY be of aid to you, because you’re an obtuse wannabe, with no political skill whatsoever, playing the player, getting it on for Nancy, at the expense of your country. Big fat stupid thick Nancy, thin, but still a cow, just like the rest of her democratic Vichy posse.

I hope she goes to prison, with the rest.

In fact, someone should investigate Nancy, and her husband, with an eye toward sending her to jail.

      Same with Dean, and Kerry.

I expected better of Kerry, at least some understanding of this criminal mess, but he co opted it, too, just like the Republicans he derided.

Someone said to take a good look at him, though, he never really was an independent thinker, ever, his whole life.

…..LSD and/or Psilocybin Cubenis with some oxycontin eye of newt, toe of bat, regular witches brew…..

There are fields and fields of Psilocybin (magic mushroom plant) on the island of Patmos, Greece. Apparently, John the Revelator was high on it when he wrote the Book of Revelation from the cave on Patmos where he was exiled. However, American Christians in the Bible Belt prefer to worship a man who was higher on LSD than the Beatles were when they wrote Magical Mystery Tour. Is there something wrong with this picture?

        • Lucinda

Oh, so Catholics don’t believe in the book of Revelation? Interesting. My father was Catholic (graduated from Catholic school), and he pretty much believed everything that was in the Bible. I don’t believe you’re a Catholic or a Christian. That’s fine. In American, we have freedom of religion, so just come out and say what you really are.

And the Book of Revelation is pure nonsense!

              • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

The Book of Revelation was an add-on to the New Testament. It wasn’t written by any of the disciples. There are many scholars who read it as addressing things and places of that time past, such as Rome, for starters.

Personally, I think it was thrown in there by Constantine to help keep the masses in line. Nothing like some scary incomprehensible fear mongering to get people whipped into shape.

I think the Book Of Revelation has nothing whatsoever to do with the New Testament. Else the words “My word is sufficient” wouldn’t ring true.

                • Linda C.

Roman Catholics are not Dominionists or Dispensationalist, therefore the Book of Revelations is not central to the doctrine.

So it isn’t that the book isn’t to be believed in the faith sense, it just isn’t front and center to the doctrine of everyday living that some Rapture is imminent. The Rapture concept and the over reliance on the Book of Revelations is a protestant theological perspective from the late 1800′s.

My understanding from the RCC perspective that Revelations is to be viewed in a symbolic meaning rather than a literal prediction

Oh speaking Book of Revelation and Muslims..

There’s a new book coming out in July written by Walid Shoebat (former PLO terrorist, now a Christian) and Joel Richardson (author of “Why We Left Islam” and “Antichrist: Islam’s Awaited Messiah”) called

“God’s War On Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible”

There’s a video trailer for the book here

            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLeRFwY3SDs

It is a reexamination of the Bible and the common assumptions about what the prophecies were saying.. and to test whether or not our view of them are actually valid or are they errors that accrued in our culture over time.

It will be around 600 pages, so it’s no small effort.

Joel’s previous book “Antichrist: Islam’s Awaited Messiah” was about Islamic eschatology. Joel noticed that when Muslims would speak about what their End Time beliefs were , that they were oddly similiar to the Christian view. A free on-line version of that book is here He finally realized that everything the Muslims say their messiah will do , that the Bible describes the Antichrist as doing them. The Muslims believe that their version of Jesus will join with the Mahdi.. and Joel realized that everything this Jesus is supposed to do, the Bible describes the False Prophet as doing.

So this new book reexamines the entire bible to see how things work if things are explained through an Islamic Paradigm (as opposed to the common protestant paradigm of today which is an Roman Empire paradigm)

            Link to the new book:

This Centrocitta cannot be who she says she is.

Who can ever say that American Evangelicals worship Apostle John? Only someone who lives overseas and is being told myth or disinformation.

          • Lucinda

Very true. I’m glad you said that. I’ve read several books about Revelation, and I think a lot of it is misinterpreted. It was written specifically for the Christians who were being persecuted in the 1st Century. That’s why we don’t understand a lot of the imagery, but the 1st Century people would’ve understood it perfectly. Still, the basic message of the book hasn’t lost its relevance. In fact, a lot of the ritual dialog of the Christian faith is taken from the book of Revelation, because the sentiments expressed are really quite beautiful.

            • Mary

Many Biblical scholars believe the Antichrist in John’s Revelations was actually a safe code word for the Roman Empire.

And thus, has nothing to do with the delusions some preachers talk about.

        • Centrocitta

It depends on the context in which you’re using the word “boy”. Most Americans know when and when not to use it. Perhaps you’re not American. Which begs the question, “What are you doing here in this American election discussion anyway”?

          • beebop

Screw you sister. I don’t need to explain myself to you, to oblowme or to the morons who want to find something racist in every little turn. You want to know something? There ARE serious issues of equal opportunity, bias in the courts, racial profiling, etc. Senator oblowme and his entitled wife are not examples of any of it. He has pulled the race card so many times that he is wearing the writing off the card. Real, institutionalized racism will end up getting a bum rap for this imposter.

          • stodghie

since you are american, i would assume you’d know better but clearly you don’t since all you have done is show your arse on here.

I had to do a hard close to correct it.

S.H.E.- I donated money to Taylors site and all but when she posted the cartoon of an old white woman cutting off her nose as being representative of those of us who wont vote Uhhbama, that was highly offensive and misogynistic as well IMHO

    • Arabella Trefoil

She has her own reasons for backing Obama. I don’t agree with her. But I don’t think she’s a monster either, just a human being.

Well, my family members didn’t give him money in May because we wanted to wait until he wrapped it up. Since then, we’ve donated. I bet there’s plenty of other folks for whom that’s true.

Personally, I’m excited that we have a candidate who has a huge donor base and who doesn’t have spend hardly any time raising money from big donors. Half of McCain’s May events were fundraisers.

the DNC is broke. Obama raised only 22 million this month. McCain is within $400,000 of him. most of his doners are maxed out. at least 18 million people will not give a dime to him.

obambi has proved that money means nothing. He couldn’t win at all even with outspending his opponent.

and how is that fake presidential seal working for you? cute, huh? That makes his efforts to raise money laughable. he is a faker, a liar, a race-baiter, and pathetic–the one thing MEchelle was right about.

    secularhumanizinevoluter-

I didn’t call her a bitch or comment on her undercover work, but I stand by saying she’s a sell-out. Anyone who can condone what the DNC did, i.e. giving Obama four delegates that belonged to Hillary, not counting votes in FL, etc…and still support them as they stand today, are sell-outs. Period. Those who say they will support the DNC no matter what are doing nothing more than enabling them to continue with destroying the true ideals of what the Democratic Party stood for. You get rid of the bad apples, you don’t support them. So, yes…Taylor is a sell-out.

    • typical irishman

how is “traitor” spelled? LOL! I agree 100%. She sold out.

    • http://dontcallmesweetie.blogspot.com/ Blu

I agree Mary Ellen. If the rank and file Democrats allow the DNC to get away with this the party will be destroyed. I’d rather have McCain for four years than to see the end of the Democratic Party.

Congress will keep McCain in check but if Obama became our ruler the Democratic controlled congress would be his and the DNC’s puppets.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

It’s not just that she opened up the site to Obamabots, it’s her own spin now on everything. She’s an apologist for Obama now.

That’s the part I find disingenuous. I don’t mind that she’s a unity pony gal. Makes sense. But there are so many ways to handle this.

Today’s post is an example. She takes the stand that his race remark was valid. LOL*

Good grief……it’s OK to accuse someone of racism and there’s absolutely no event or action?

      That’s absurd!

      • stodghie

yup, jeralyn at tl is supporting the ticket but she is doing it with honesty and integrity which is not what taylor marsh has done. look at the difference.

  • Inhumancannonball

Republicans will vote for McCain just to vote against Obama.
I’ve read in other sources that Karl Rove had an “anyone but Hillary strategy” and that in fact a lot of Republicans made donations to Obama early in the primary for this reason.

Also, at the very beginning, when Obama decided to run, almost all the money he had at that time came from PACs and lobbyists.

He likes to blame Republicans for using so much PAC and lobbyst money, but if you go to factcheck.org, they show that these sources amount to less than 1% of the money McCain and the Republicans have and that Democrats receive it more than Republicans.

Hillary has NOT taken any of his money to retire her debt. I’m proud of her for that and hope she continues. I’m sure he is waving it in front of her nose trying to tempt her. They really want the Clinton donors.

  • http://dontcallmesweetie.blogspot.com/ Blu

Barack’s main contributors are all on summer break spending mommy and daddy’s hard earn money on beer, pot and parties instead on giving it to the Obama campaign.
By the time school starts back up they’ll have a new idol to worship and we’ll have a president that cares about our country (even if he is a Republican).

    • Lucinda

These are my sentiments, too. His donations are slowing down, because mom and dad won’t give out any more allowance before school starts back.

Personally, I’m excited that we have a candidate who has a huge donor base and who doesn’t have spend hardly any time raising money from big donors. Half of McCain’s May events were fundraisers.

Who do you think goes to those fundraisers? It’s the big donors, sweetheart. The DNC and Obama are scrabbling to get as many fundraisers going as possible. In fact, Obama told Rendell last week, when Rendell was trying to talk him into holding the fundraiser on another date because it was a vacation week and many people couldn’t attend, Obama said, “We don’t need people, we just need their checks.”

You need to wake up to the reality of campaigns. It’s a myth when it comes to where Obama is getting his money. It’s not small donors, not by a long shot.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I will laugh if Obama’s fundraising slows down permanently after he made the decision to forego federal finance and break his pledge.

    That would be rather rich.

I am beginning to think that the Democrats really misread the public. They ignored the reality that the Congressional ratings were so unfavorable included them, too. They thought this was the year that the Democrats couldn’t lose.

The REAL message from the public was that we want ALL of you gone. LOL*

    Vote the Rascals Out!

I think the whole gang who shamed the party with their nasty remarks about Hillary while they were supposedly endorsing Obama turned the traditional Democratic base off to the point that we’re looking forward to handing them their heads on a platter.

Denver is now asking the DNC if they intend to even pay their bills. The chairperson for the DNC volunteers in Denver resigned, saying she had no real power to execute her job.

Obama just installed his own mirror PR guy in the DNC.

Yet the DNC is still 11 million short of the 40 million needed for the convention.

Remember, this is only needed every 4 years. They couldn’t raise even 10 million a year?

That didn’t clue them in that the public is dissastified? That didn’t inform them that this was not a great time to stage a coup?

It was a bad strategy to put Obama up to run. It’s backfiring.

And nobody is interested in his phony momentum stories anymore. Everytime the man opens his mouth or makes a decision, the public is shocked to learn what poor judgment he actually has. Broken pledges, the absurd seal that is offensive and arrogant, statement galore that make virtually NO sense.

It will be a long year.

It’s naive to assume he can get Hillary voters and donors when his own supporters are still arrogantly BOO’ing anytime her name is mentioned.

I don’t know about how other people feel. I do know how I feel, and how people I interact with feel! Core Dems are turned off to Obama. We want to punish our party for highjacking the election. We are educated and have been party members since day one. We have joined the boycott of MSM, especially MSNBC, CNN, Newsweek. We boycott GE products. We no longer contribute to DNC. We call our Congressional Reps and Sentaors from California.

We interact in our local party gatherings. Most of us are going to vote McCain if Obama becomes nominee. We support the march on Denver. We emil and call DNC, Pelosi. We do what we can in support of 1st amendment rights and free speech for Larry Sinclair. Many of us opened our eyes when he was arrested after his PC. Warrent coming out of Delaware, son of Joe Biden, we guess Daddy wants become Secretary of State! People need to start being proactice. I hope that we all join in to stop this ripping off of the nomination. Obama is a controlled, blackmailed, compromised candidate! The Black community has been duped. I truely believe that there is fire in his closet regarding allegations from Larry Sinclair. MSM is proping this myth created by Alexrod and George Soros money.

Centro, you really stand for all that I am against. You have been so totally indoctrinated in irrational thinking and limited historic studies. You have given away the light of your reason, and turned to cynicism and hate. Although you have been attacked somewhat viciously by those in disagreement with you, I wonder why you are here on this site, if not to
place your infected memetic belief set, into a few silent readers. The world we live in today, requires that we be vigilant in pursuit of a better life for our families, communities and country. There is no excuse for a person who would countenance the hate speech spoken from a so called Christian pulpit, regardless of race, or of social standing. Such ideology cripples the human spirit. In your unfounded support of Obama, your anarchism and your cynicism are apparent; yet, one part of you has gravitated to his nebulous hope propaganda. Now that he is being placed under the microscope of public scrutiny, it becomes more apparent each day, that he is not congruent with his message. This lack of congruence, reflects not character, but opportunism and self-serving pragmatism.
I, for one, will not vote for Obama, because he lacks experience in a very substantive way. I sense that the White House, if Obama is in it, would be
a very busy place for secretaries and long term staff. He is the cardboard cake in the bakery window. Window dressing for the psyche of America.
I, for one, am not that sick, and many others are with me. We don’t need
a savior mentality, or a hope mentality or a post-racial racist, especially now. We do not need as a nation a person who gladhands those who would oppress women through the imposition of Sharia Law. A vote for Obama would be one giant step in an irreversible direction for America.
You, however would be more affected than me. The snake will swallow his tail first.

As of Friday, Obama’s fundraising efforts will hit another wall.

His FLIPFLOP on FISA immunity has the left wing of the DNC going crazy.

These are the Porgressive “High Information” Democrats who still brag to this day that they knocked Gore out by voting for Nader in 2000.

These are the people who vilified the Clintons all over th enet because they hate centrists.

In one week Obama flipflopped on them:

    FISA, NAFTA, Campiagn Finance reform.

But FISA was the final blow. I went to Salon.com and there are 20 pages of comments by outraged progressives saying they will stop donating to him. Some say they will not vote for him. Same thing is happening on every lefty progressive blog.

They are going crazy over this — they really beleived in the Hope and Change BS.

And here is the cherry on top:

MOVEON.COM IS DEMANDING OBAMA KEEP HIS WORD AND LEAD THE FISA FILLIBUSTER.

    Here’s the letter they’re circulating:

    http://pol.moveon.org/immunity/080621obama.html

LOL! MoveOn has turned on their precious!!!

And you KNOW he will not fillibuster. And you know why — Pelosi and Reid knew about the illegal wire taps. This bill protects them from prosecution.

They only better gift we can hope for is that Hillary votes against FISA to rub it in the progressives faces: “See? You could have had me.”

As of Friday, her office told Newsday she has not decided how she will vote yet.

    As of Friday

When Howard Dean had his fund raising bonanza the dems saw the cash cow and put him in charge. However, that cash cow didn’t translate to money for the DNC. They are doing the same thing again with Obama. The supporters of Dean and the supporters of Obama are not supporters of the DNC. They were and are candidate specific in their backing.

There is a definite problem in that Hillary Clinton fund raisers are not supporting Barak Obama even after Senator Clinton endorsed him. Even though there are always some bruising primaries, this is the first time that I can recall that this has happened. Thus whatever has been going on behind the scenes in DNC land had to be much worse than what we peeps are seeing.

  • Chicago Joe

We can only hope that he has peaked in the polls, and that a downward trend becomes apparent to the gutless super-delegates who were too greedy to support the better candidate openly. I am actually kind of shocked that he did these two key flip-flops in one week, and unmasked this embarassingly arrogant and self-indulgent mockery of the presidential shield so early in the general. Honestly, what will it take for super-delegates to realize they can move to Hillary and correct this very dangerous mistake?

  • catherine

The only way to get the DNC to understand how angry we are that they selected the nominee is to not give them a penny. Money is what they understand. Period. I gave to Hillary’s campaign but will not give a red cent to Obama or the DNC. Not now not ever.

How do I know that if I contribute to Hillary at http://www.HillaryClinton.com that the money I contribute won’t go towards that fraud? From what I’ve read, and mind you I haven’t gone there because it would be too depressing, the plastic Jesus and Hillary are now joined at the hip on her website.

I have no problem contributing to Hillary as long as I know for sure that money is going to help her retire her campaign debt and not into Obambi’s or Howard’s DNC coffers. That I refuse to do.

Have you thought about this: if the city of Denver is pissed because the big, huge Democratic convention was going to be there this year and now it’s not, how are the people of the state of Colorado going to feel? They were proud that the convention was going to be in their Mile High city of Denver and how many people was that convention going to employ? Now that the convention is most likely going to be in Chicago I’m not so sure there won’t be a backlash. Obambi was thinking he was going to take the state of Colorado in the GE but it was a maybe, wasn’t it. Hey it might go RED as in McCain if they’re mad enough. I’m sure as a state they feel dissed and who knows how that may turn out in the end for the plastic Jesus.

After a good look at the brownshirts I would sum up Denver as breathing a sigh of relief. We had Kerry’s “Reporting for Duty” in boston and the supposed economic benefit was illusory, the powers that be don’t exactly go to cheers and walk the freedom trail, they might encounter, you know, people, and might have to talk to them (shudder). And yes I have given money to Ed O’Reilly.

Whatever makes you feel better, Democrat. The fact is that he broke his written pledge and then blamed McCain.

I and many people don’t respect that in a man.

By the way, Gallup polls have McCain today within 2 points of Obama in the GE. :)

In November 2007, Obama answered “Yes” to Common Cause when asked “If you are nominated for President in 2008 and your major opponents agree to forgo private funding in the general election campaign, will you participate in the presidential public financing system?”

Parse this any way you want silly bot. First president since NIXON not to take public financing. There’s a great sentence for you. I don’t even have to understand 527′s to figure that one out. Just the name I want to be in the same sentence with, don’t you? NIXON and OBAMA. Perfect if you ask me.

By the way, it’s not playing well. Even the most liberal of all media — NY Times, Washington Post — criticize the move. On boards of oblowme supporters, some are asking for their money back. How you feeling about FISA? NAFTA? hahahahahahahahhahahaha. Biggest phoney since silicone inplants.

Isn’t that odd now. All Polls show McCain got a large boost in the polls when he announced he was for opening up MORE offshore drilling in order to increase the American petroleum out-put. Naaah, Obama loses to Mac-the knife-even if Obama brings a gun (BEEBEE) to the fight as he has stated. Obama is just about out of gas–LITTERALY :) .

  • http://deleted AnninCa

People are ready for the off-shore drilling, apparently. (Not in my state, of course….CA)

    PERFECT SLOGAN BEEBOP, –NIX OBAMA,:).

Vote the Rascals Out….no contradiction with my point.

And the Newsweek poll is a joke, bud…get a clue.

  • Democrat

Yep, as I said above, the Newsweek poll is an outlier. You can throw the extreme poll results out from both end and Obama’s lead is steady or growing in the poll averages.

And the congressional generic ballot’s looking great.

But you don’t have to go by polls. Look at the three Republican seats lost in special election.

Yeah, if we have it I think we should get it (petroleum). Drilling has been going on in the Gulf of Mexico for years now. I do not see where there has been any great damage to our ecosystem here in Texas. However there is a much broader area that could be opened up in the Gulf for drilling. If we don’t the foriegn companies will [drill] in our own back yard (so to speak). That could lead to a dangerous situation in itself. If any state does not want to allow drilling , then maybe they should be willing to pay more than the average. Not that I would wish that on anyone but I believe one of our major national security risks rest on our refusal to do more drilling in proven fields and more exploratory drilling too.
