THE RACE CARD – WHO’S ZOOMING WHO?

Obama fans like to claim that Hillary used the race card during her historical campaign against him. But let’s look at the record and see who’s zooming who.

When Hillary said that without President Lyndon Johnson signing the civil rights bill blacks would’ve never had legal protection against flagrant racism, well, that was racist.

When Bill Clinton duly noted that Obama claims that he vehemently opposed the Iraq war with a simple speech as a state legislator was bullshit, er, a fairy tale, that was racist too.

And when Bill Clinton noted that Jesse Jackson ran a great campaign in South Carolina, won and then went on to lose the nomination, that was especially racist.

Of course Hillary supporters were a bunch of racists, too.

When pollsters got it wrong in New Hampshire and voters gave Hillary the nod, the Bradley effect was clearly visible and Hillary supporters were closet racists.

And when Obama spoke to a crowd of supporters in California and characterized Hillary fans as people who cling to their religion and guns, this absolutely proved Hillary supporters were racists, of course.

Well, the latest version is Obama explaining to people in Florida why he’s having problems with McSame in spite of the best political landscape for Democrats since 1974 — right after Nixon was impeached — courtesy of a transcript by Time. It shows the real master race baiter at work.

“The choice is clear. Most of all we can choose between hope and fear. It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy. We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?

He’s got a feisty wife.”

(big cheer).

“We know the strategy because they’ve already shown their cards. Ultimately I think the American people recognize that old stuff hasn’t moved us forward. That old stuff just divides us.”

Yes, we know all about the strategy, don’t we, Barky…? Truthteller of No Quarter helps explain it for Obamazoids with their ostrich necks blocked by all that unity sand.

Let us summarize the Obama campaign strategy: when one is poised to lose, drop the race card, but be sure to claim your opponents are the ones who are divisive, even if you are the one who disenfranchised the voters to whom you are appealing for funds. Always eschew any and all discussions on policy, and always refer to your opponents as racist and xenophobic. This is Obama’s version of unity, and this is Obama’s notion of waging a different type of political campaign. Welcome to Obamatopia, where the deck is always stacked with strategically placed race cards to be played with impunity.

When the presidential race is over and Obama finds himself on the outside looking in, he’ll blame it on racism and the bitches who refused to support him.

  • typical.white.person

Obama played the race card when he went to South Carolina and used the code words ‘hoodwinked’ and ‘bamboozled’.

It is Okie Dokie when AA’s bamboozle Whiteys with code words, but racist when Whiteys use code words such as ‘states rights’

    DoubleDoubleStandardStandard

  • Obama is a bum

The Obama strategy is very simple. They take an incompetent black man who claims to be a messiah. He stands on a stage saying “change” and the campaign gives out signs saying “change”. And if you don’t want to vote for Obama they call you racist.

Obama and his campaign are pathetic. This whole racist strategy would backfire if numerous people would get on TV and call Obama and his supporters on it. Showing up and picketing Obama concerning the racist strategy would have to be shown by the media.

People can either fight the Obama campaign on their racist strategy or let them continue to pick people off one by one with it.

  • Mandelay

I am a proud bitch who refuses to support him! And on that note, I say good night/good morning, and please, if you can give up that extra cup of coffee, tea or that Friday night cocktail, or any other sometime virtue or vice, please write a check for a couple of bucks to “Hillary Clinton for President” and help “The Fighter” retire her campaign debt. Thanks!

The real sad part about all this is when Obama is ousted either in August or November, what it will do for American politics on many levels is create pause, which is really to bad.

There are plenty of qualitifed people of many different races in America to run for office, even POTUS, this one is not one of them, he is a manipulating unqualified person and his use of bating is doing damage to any candidate down the road worthy of political office simply because people will not want to see the baiting go on again after this election season is done.

Too bad for America and for the people of America that this totally unqualified lying race abusing Black Man has destroyed it for real candidates down the road!

He has destroyed MLK’s words of judging a person not by the color of their skin but by their character!

  • Kat5

Obama. Just. Plain. Sucks. In any color, he would suck. He’s the most poisonous candidate in living memory, even counting Nixon. He’s certainly got all the Nixon moves – and then some.

  • avwrobel

It is an amazingly instructional sequence of events that caught the Clintons completely off guard. That of Obambi and his wife claiming the Clintons were racists, and then the media failing completely to analyse and comment truthfully on it. Now Obambi’s game is to run out the clock again till the convention and hope not too much analysis of his primary tactics goes on. Just the opposite has to happen. We must keep going over this; esp. those undemocratic caucuses. Keep up the fight!!!

  • walter

Obama is 16 points ahead of McCain.

    We don’t need you guys.

    Sore losers.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Woooooow. Ya know what’s funny? I was a staunch anti racist as far back as I remember. I risked spankings from my parents and tauntings from all my neighbors as a child, because I used to sneak off to play with the only AA little girl in that part of Anchorage, Alaska. I’ve always believed we were all equals. When I was called a racist back in December for asking for civility over at KOS, I was dumbstruck. And with each passing day and each new insult, I’m beginning not to give a shit anymore. I never used to consider race at all…but because of this slimy prick, Barky, I find myself having very angry thoughts directed at both AAs and men. He has managed to create racist and sexist feelings in me, and for that, I curse him. I hope that all the hate and venom he has created will come back to haunt him and his wife. I am trying very hard to not be this way, to fall back on my liberal beliefs of love, compassion and understanding.

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

Hillary has said she is not looking for donations to retire her debt, and she is going to write off the 14 million dollar loan she gave her campaign.

I believe she is doing this so she can so that she did not suck funds that could have gone to O’boy.

Hillary, wisely, wants to be certain she cannot be blamed for O’boys failure in November. She will campaign for him, but as the saying goes you can lead the voters to the polls, but you can’t pull the lever for them.

Obama has sealed his own fate with the flip flops, outright lies, and sexist manner. He is a self serving pig in every sense of the word.

  • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

Geez, you can’t even read, it was a 15 point difference on a newsweek poll, done for NBC, now that is as reliable as shit freezing in a pasture in the dead of winter in Alaska!

So why are you here anyhow if your guy has such command over the election?

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Case in point. The best part of you got cut off when your doctor circumcised you. I loathe guys like you. I’m so glad I’m not a single female right now because if you are a typical male than I feel sorry for the women of today. Wimpy, milktoast sexists.

He’s trying to stoke up that liberal guilt which worked so well for him, but I think people are starting to come to their senses. I started out thinking either Hillary or Barack would do us proud, but it quickly became apparent that he is not equipped for the job on so many levels. Just say no deal!

  • hummingbirdv

Actually, Hillary has asked for help to retire the debt she has for her vendors… She is not asking to be repaid for the personal loan she made to the campaign from her own money… she considers this her own investment.

She is asking for any help supporters can give to retire the remaining debt that is owed to vendors… not sure of the amount but several millions of dollars. This is a very good thing for us to help her do. In this way she will not have to accept help from her opponent which would come with many offensive “strings”. Give what you can.

According to the ALL OBAMA NEWS TEAM AT MSNBC / NEWSWEEK?

Go ahead and count on that. We may be sore, but you are the loser, and so will be your O’boy.

The Newsweek poll profile of 897 regestered voters, not likely voters, was 22% Republican, 36% Democrat, and 37% Independent.

Maybe they should just poll 100% Democrat and leave the Republicans out of the poll completely.

It’s a usless self serving poll. See it here and judge for yourself.

    http://www.newsweek.com/id/142469

All the other polls, including Rasmussen taken the same day as Newsweek, have the race a statistical tie. O’boys ego needed some strokes from his friends at Newsweek.

  • DoroB

Obama’s race card was the reason I became disillusioned with him. It certainly made me feel taht he wasn’t fit to be president.

  • hummingbirdv

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

What are you doing here on a Saturday night? Shouldn’t you be clubbing with your friends?

  • magenta

I started out liking this guy too, as late as February. But now I despise him as much as G.W. Bush.

I tried to like his speeches, but they seemed so cliche and fake, like he was acting. He comes off as so opportunistic and arrogant, and his wife comes off hateful and ugly. I don’t mean physically ugly, I mean spiritually ugly. The race-baiting and the sexism just disgusted me. This whole thing is One Big Sham. And I am so tired of bullshit.

My God, I voted for effing Mondale, Dukakis, and Kerry. Talk about losers. But I’m just gagging over this guy. He is the worst of all of them. At least those guys were just boring geeks, but they were honorable and had experience. Obama is a sham to me.

And to think, we could have had Hillary. It’s really sickening.

  • Thomas

It’s not too late. The Democratic Party has not chosen their nominee yet.

Hillary Clinton is still viable as our candidate.

  • http://noratings.blogspot.com/ Bud White

Great Post. Obama’s decision to smear the Clintons as racists is the #1 reason I can’t vote for him, #2 is his lack of experience, #3 is the sexism.

  • Brendy

…and WHO is playing the race card????? He played it against Hillary adn WON, now he’s going to use it against the republicans. Obama WILL BE the next president of the USA – ALL because of ‘racism’. EVERYTHING, EVERY WORD, EVERY CRITICISM will be deemed ‘racist’ as far as Obama and his gang are concerned.

Title: Obama says Republicans will use race to stoke fear
    Source: Reuters
    URL Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews

JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Reuters) – Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him.

“It is going to be very difficult for Republicans to run on their stewardship of the economy or their outstanding foreign policy,” Obama told a fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida. “We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid.

“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

He said he was also set for Republicans to say “he’s got a feisty wife,” in trying to attack his wife Michelle.

  • Slobodaneee

If the newsweek poll had Obama down 15 points would you say the poll was incorrect then? I think not. many of you are so “bitter” that you’ll believe all sought of nonsense, i.e. Hillary cared about Michigan and Forida all the time, Obama is a Muslim, his wife ranted against “whitey,” etc. I’m glad the majority of Hillary supporters aren’t like those on this blog.

  • Thomas

You have it backward. it was the MSM that branded the Clintons racists by playing the clip and choosing that narrative over and over again.

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

That’s right, Newsweek polled 14 percent more Democrats than Republicans and the poll came out 15% in favor of the Democrat.

Well Goooolllllyyy Tyrone…. I recons that be settles it. Less Juss crown the new massa now.

  • Thomas

Don’t let this moment change you into something that you stood against all your life.

    Just back Hillary.

  • yttik

Obama’s use of the race card will backfire. Real racists don’t care about being accused of racism. A few people will feel guilty and be shamed into supporting him. But the vast majority will simply get resentful about the constant accusations. Eventually as people get more and more annoyed, racist snarks will start to sneak out. I’ve seen this happen in organizations, after a while the race card actually starts to breed racism.

  • Thomas

We can still have Hillary if everyone work hard between now and the convention.

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

It would be incorrect if they polled 15% more Republicans than Democrats.

If Newsweek just polls the people at Obama rallys, how is that poll going to look?

At least Newsweek is honest enough to admit they are polling many more Democrats, than Republicans. And of the Democrats, 18% of Hillary’s supporters will not vote for Obambi.

If that number is just 3% come Nov, Obambi loses. If it stays at 18% – He gets his ass handed to him.

If the Repubs play up his negatives, that number skyrockets…. and it’s lights out for the fraud.

Yeah Hillary and her sack of solutions. Not to beat a dead candidate but Hillary’s answers to all problems was to throw money or start a commission to study the problem with making a hard choice. in Iowa she promised something like a $1,000.00 for each newborn, in Philadelphia at meeting with AAs, she promised millions for policing without detailing how it would be funded, and also in PA she said she’d have a commission study the problem. when pressed she couldn’t say now it would paid for. Go ahead and throw away your vote to someone who has nothing in common with you primary choice’s just because Hillary lost.

Yes, history will not be kind to Obama.

  • Thomas

I think you misunderstand my comment. We are going to deny Obama the nomination in Denver in August.

The bloom is off the rose. Campaign Finance reform and FISA just landed fatal blows to his campaign.

  • Thomas

If Hillary becomes the nominee Obama will become a just another footnote in history.

  • Slobodaneee

I’m not sure Obama is up 15, but I think he is ahead. My criticism of Obama is that he won’t wage the ruthless campaign Hillary would have waged against McCain to win. We’ll see how the repubs fare against him. Hillary sure gave them plenty of ammo. Obama fought that primary with one hand tied behind his back b/c he and Hillary knew Obama’s lead on Feb. 19th couldn’t be overcome. He was afraid of alienating Hill supports like most of you. For all the good it did him. He should have gone at her the way she did at him and he would have put her out much earlier.

I still have Hillary for Pres. stickers on my truck and car. I am a member of the democratic resistance. If the Repubs wise up, they will start to see what we all saw in BO. The “race-card” is a hoax, another mind-control tactic. There is about 4 or 5 months till the election. I think that people may loose their fear of him and get that its all smoke and mirrors. Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I agree with above about being mad at men and AA’s. That’s part of the “splitting” qualities of a classis character disorder. He ends up smelling like a rose while we are all clawing at each other’s throats. The guy is a piece of work and I don’t care what anybody thinks. I will never vote for him and will write Hillary in, which I guess we can do in the state of Washington as a protest vote.

This is proof that BHO was a product that had to be sold to the black community by the MSM. His roots aren’t that deep and his loyalty is suspect.

  • Linda K

Thomas, how do you suggest we all do that? lobbying the SDs? Demanding to see Barry’s birth certificate? I would like to see Hillary at the top of the ticket as well. Can you suggest something constructtive?

  • Susan1968

The Newsweek poll ame out a day before Obama flip flopped on the FISA bill.

HuffPo closed thecomments section of the article but it had over 3000 posts in a little over 24 hours.

The majority of which were NOT pleased with Obama-rama.

The left leaning progressives are really frosted.

One or two said they’d vote for Nader – again.

“Oh, you’re not really angry about Obama voting for the FISA bill and giving Telecomms retrocative immunity. You’re really a racist.”

Obama has race baited and used sexist terms during the campaign. Obama never objected the above hateful statement. Hillary and the DNP may call for unity but I will never get behind a racist, sexist and hateful candidate no matter how well his campaign tries to transform his image.

How can anyone support someone that allows a person in his campaign to make this type of statement?

SHOULD A MAJOR PARTY CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT, WHO HAS PLEDGED HIS SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS, REJECT THE MONEY AND SUPPORT of an anti-American extremist who thinks Osama bin Laden had a valid argument on 9/11 and says she is currently acting to undermine the war effort? Barack Obama should be forced to make that decision about the ample funds he has received from Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evans.

According to Ralph Naders Public Citizen, Evans has raised at least $50,000 for the Obama campaign. As long ago as February 2007, the Code Pink co-founder and pampered divorcee co-hosted a Hollywood fundraiser for Obama with her ex-husband (financier Max Palevsky) and Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen of DreamWorks studios. [1]

Rare Candor (Read: Undisguised Hatred) from the Left

Evans capped off a lifetime of yeoman service to the leftist fringe this June 3, when she told Kansas talk show host Paul A. Ibbetson al-Qaeda may have had a point on 9/11. On Ibbetsons Conscience of Kansas radio program, Evans declared:

Evans: We were attacked because we were in Saudi Arabia. That was the message of Osama, was that, because we had our bases in the Middle East, he attacked the United States.

Ibbetson: Do you think thats a valid argument?

Evans: Sure. Why do we have bases in the Middle East? We totally violated the rights of that, that country. Why do we get to have bases in the Middle East? [2]

The Code Pinko revealed, with unusually cold-blooded frankness, the reason Code Pink targeted military recruiters and U.S. soldiers:

Ibbetson: I understand the activism and the protesting of George W. Bush and CheneyWhat is this protesting and work against the military recruitmentin Berkeley?

Evans: As an antiwar activist, one of the things you try to do is you try to find the pillars that keep us at war and try to undermine those pillars. And one of the things: You cant go to war if you dont have soldiers.

When pressed to clarify the pillars her deeds undermined, the Obama bundler removed all doubt she aimed at our uniformed men and women themselves:

Ibbetson: You said you want to undermine the pillars of the war effort, and part of those pillars of that effort is the military, complex or whatever. Would you

Evans: Well, the soldiers that fight the war. If you dont have soldiers, you wont be at war.

She didnt sound very convincing in denying, Code Pink sees the military as the enemy. (N-n-n-n-no, she eventually stammered out.) She then likened Military Recruiting Centers to liquor stores and porn shops.

Finally, Evans affirmed of Code Pinks travels to Iraq: Youre right! We were trying to undermine the war effort!

    More Than Words

Evans revealing performance could serve as light radio comedy (e.g., she later blurted out, in earnest, Why is being a Communist anti-American?) if it did not mask a long history of actions designed to demoralize soldiers in harms way, vilify the military (and the United States as a whole), provide monetary and military support to jihadists, and popularize the views of Islamic radicals who believe terrorists who kill U.S. troops are guaranteed Paradise.

Her statement that you cant go to war if you dont have any soldiers, dovetails with her work to break the morale of soldiers fighting in Iraq. In July 2003, Jodie Evans joined the Advisory Board of Iraq Occupation Watch (IOW) as a founding member. Castroites Medea Benjamin and Leslie Cagan established IOW in Baghdad to convince American soldiers serving in Iraq to obtain conscientious objector status and get sent home. As part of this process, they recycled anti-American news stories to the troops in Iraq, and spread first-hand accounts of mythical U.S. atrocities back home. At least one fellow Advisory Board member called for the murder of U.S. troops in Iraq.

Tiring of rhetoric, Code Pink tended to the material needs of those who killed U.S. troops or tended to the insurgents. In December 2004, Evans and Code Pink delivered $600,000 in cash and supplies to the other side in Fallujah, a recent battlefield and terrorist stronghold infamous for killing American soldiers.

That summer, Evans disclosed, in blunt fashion, that she had little concern over troops being killed, because she viewed Abu Musab al-Zarqawis death squads as our moral superiors:

We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and defending their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love. The Iraqi people are fighting for their country, to protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for their lives, and we are fighting for lies. [3]

Before long, she and Code Pink would seek to join forces with the terrorists leaders once again. In August 2006, she joined 11 other far-leftists in a Code Pink-sponsored trip to meet Iraqi political leaders such as:

Sheikh Ahmad al-Kubaysi, who once pronounced foreign-born jihadists killing U.S. soldiers very brave. He added, These Mujahideen are guaranteed Paradise. He is said to have given militia leader Moqtada al-Sadr $50 million. Saleh al-Mutlaq, the trips prime sponsor, chided Americans for trying to brand as terrorists the honorable national resistance movements. He concluded, We cannot give peace.
Code Pink announced after this trip, We left this historic meeting with a commitment to make sure that the voices of these Iraqi parliamentarians are heard here in the U.S. Indeed, one delegation member, a DailyKos blogger who ran for Congress in 2006, blogged, if justice is to ever come to the people of Iraq, the people we call insurgents will have to be recognized as the ones who are actually defending their homeland. As I noted at the time, Medea Benjamin laid out her full plan to coordinate anti-American events with foreigners in her essay Toward a Global Movement,” published in April 2003 in Nation magazine.

Evans was present at the creation of this subversive agenda. And now she sees her savior in Barack and Michelle Obama.

Her official page on Barack Obamas campaign website states, I am impressed with his ideas and ideals and that he has an amazing wife and listens to her. Discussing Michelle Obama may be low class for her detractors, but evidently it is a selling point to radicals like Jodie Evans.

Not Just Obama: Code Pinks Growing Influence in the Party of Defeat

As David Horowitz and I point out in our new book, Party of Defeat, this pathology extends far beyond Barack Obama. The Hate America ideology Code Pink represents once at-odds with Democratic leaders like Joe Lieberman, Dick Gephardt, Sam Nunn, and the young Al Gore now represents the will of its McGovernite base. Increasingly, when the Radical Left talks, the Democratic leadership listens whether by attending the Take Back America Conference, the Yearly Kos, or inviting hate-spewing bloggers into the halls of power.

Code Pink has not been left out of this arrangement and an increasing number of lawmakers are singing the groups praises. Sen. Russ Feingold, declared: People try to marginalize them as being left, But they serve as a reminder to (lawmakers) of the broader concern in the country over the war. Even one of the groups targets, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, courted their support last month, saying, Instead of fighting us which is your right to do lets all work together to end the war and bring the troops home. Rep. Lyn Woolsey, a California radical Democrat and co-founder of the Progressive Caucus, admitted, If it weren’t for Code Pink and groups like Code Pink, we’d be a lot farther away from resolving the situation in Iraq. And according to CP (which stands for Code Pink, not Communist Party) activists, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-CA, signed the letter to get them into Fallujah to exercise their jihadist philanthropy.

Similarly, Code Pink activists know they have the Democratic Partys ear (or other appropriate part of the anatomy). Founding member Gael Murphy told the San Francisco Chronicle, We’ve gotten to a place now where Hillary and Obama are falling all over each other to be the leading peace candidate.

They did, indeed, court the radical Left even as the media lauded them for standing up to it and this has led them to turn their backs on a war they supported, and to seek the defeat of the soldiers they put into harms way. As Jodie Evans smiles.

    Show Me the MoneyBeing Returned

Barack Obama now faces a question, not of experience, ideology, or judgment, but of decency. Will he return the money raised by someone so self-evidently opposed, not merely to victory in Iraq (they have that in common), but to our soldiers themselves? Anyone seeking to be a credible commander-in-chief of those forces, anyone deserving of their respect and sacrifice, must return her funds, renounce her organization, and refuse any support Code Pink might seek to offer his campaign.

Yet while he has been prompt to throw other longtime associates under a bus when problematic statements crop up, he has not yet lifted a finger in regards to Jodie Evans. Perhaps this is because, unlike Jeremiah Wright, Otis Moss, Michael Pfleger, or Jim Johnson, Evans offered more than rhetorical support.

Compare his reticence against the Texas Republican Party. The Lone Star GOP recently divested itself of $1,500, because it came from a vendor who sold a racist button asking, If Obama is president …will we still call it The White House? Texas Republicans swiftly donated the money to a charity benefiting Midwestern flood victims. Party spokesman Hans Klingler told AP: This vendor need not apply to another Texas GOP state convention. We will neither tolerate nor profit from bigotry.

Shouldnt Barack Obama make the same pledge about hatemongers who justify 9/11?

    ENDNOTES:

    1. Evans also said she had donated to Dennis Kucinich, John Edwards, and Ron Paul. This bipartisan (or, if you count Pauls Libertarian background, tripartisan) coalition should also return these funds and any others she generated or delivered.

    2. You can listen to the entire interview in the programs audio archives, or watch relevant clips here and here.

    3. A sanitized version of this statement now appears on the Code Pink website

how does an African American candidate attack a white woman?”

That horse’s ass Governor Warner made this crack on TV when he was bitch slapping Hillary and telling her to act like a candidate and not a woman. Or some such shit. His was the most insulting tirade of all. In fact, he was so off the wall, I think it was Campbell, or one of those CNN women, came right out and called him sexist. Even Jamal stood against him. Why is Obama Still on Islamofacist Project Hope Site?

OK Here we go again. People are going to accuse me of the Guilt by association thing. But if Senator Obama was never involved with these kind of people then why the hell are there so many pictures of him with Terrorist- supporters, America-haters, and Just Plain crooks. I search the net all day and never see a picture of him at a Larry Schwartz’s Bar Mitzvah, just picures of him with radicals. I found the below on the site of Private Investigator Bill Warner. Bill found a nice picture of the Senator with a W.D. Muhammad who was/is a member of the radical Islamist group Nation of Islam….

3 in 10 Americans Admit to Race Bias

Obama will be forced to confront these views as he seeks to broaden his appeal. He leads in the Post-ABC poll by six percentage points among all adults, but among those who are most likely to vote, the contest is a tossup, with McCain at 48 percent and Obama at 47 percent.

  • sleepy

Doesn’t much matter what the diarist thinks about racism being played or not.

It appears that Obama will have a significant popular vote victory, and a smaller electoral vote margin.

In any case, the result is the same, Obama wins.

That’s funny Jos…I liked that line. Of course that was back when I thought barky had a real future and was cute and all that.

The reason Obama is going to lose goes deeper than playing the race card. It’s about integrity and manipulation. Voters can tell the difference.

As a 45 year old AA in Atlanta and staunch Hillary supporter, I wear the bruises of being called a sellout to my race. My response, “F U”. To those who think that Clinton’s are racists or played the race card it’s evident that comprehension or lack thereof is why we are in this situation with a GWB clone – one Barack Hussein Obama.

His most appalling statement was, “Hillary supporters will vote for me, but I’m not certain my supporters will vote for her”. Talk about hubris’.

It’ll be easy for this AA to vote for McCain. I survived 12 years of Republican governance until Bill Clinton came along in 1992, so what’s four more years…2012 can’t get here soon enough.

    Peace

  • tampagurl

Gee…If he’s going to win then lets just skip the G.E. and crown him King of bull shit at the convention.

Not McCain. Hillary will prevail in Denver this August on a roll call vote from the floor.

As a black woman, I thought it was stereotypical and minstrelesque.
I recognized right away that the benefit to BHO was that a white man could never get away with it, so in one sentence he managed to minimize Bill Clinton’s appeal while establishing himself as the “real” black (potential) president.

  • Thomas

Obama will lose the roll call vote at the convention.

  • Thomas

Wait until his fund-raising drops after his FISA vote. No money, no friends.

Correction, the MSM allowed Obama to get away with it.

  • tampagurl

I sure wish you were right Thomas, but I’m a realist and unless something happens like finding a dead hooker in the trunk of Obama’s car he will be nominated. Now… that doesn’t mean we can’t stop him from winning the presidency.

  • josgirl

    That wouldn’t do it.
But don’t worry, the DFA and Netroots Nation will turn on him with one more flip-flop like FISA, and that, plus the drying up of Republican donations shpuld be enough to get the job done.

Just saved page from site Classic Democrats – Real Democrats for Hillary (June 17) yesterday :

    Here’s what we can do:

    1. Hillary’s Remaining Campaign Debt

There are 18 million Hillary supporters. It is estimated that she has anywhere from $20-25 Million in campaign debts. If we all donated $1.38 we would erase this debt.

I am in the process of contacting the Hillary Campaign to put this fundraiser on her website and have a reverse countdown – not how much we can raise, but as the contributions come in, it reduces the outstanding debt until is become ZERO and not a penny more. We can all donate what we can and watch the number reduce.

    What will this accomplish?

    * This will give Hillary the freedom to do what she needs to do
    * Hillary will not be beholden to Obama or anyone else
    * Sends the DNC a message that we stand by our candidate and do not let her down and take care of our own

    2. Do not support the Obama campaign financially or through volunteer efforts. When a request comes – don’t ignore it – but write back and state why you will not provide any support of any kind.

What will this accomplish? Money talks…

    * If Obama needs financial support, let the Obama supporters pony up [they don't need us - they made that very clear]
    * Make clear that we do not need a “leader” that flips people off and thinks that is OK. We have had 8 years of a frat boy – and it’s been more than enough.
    * We do not need a leader that does not speak up when misogyny is used against a colleague

    3. Do not support the DNC financially or through volunteer efforts

With the requests from the DNC – do the same – write back and say why you will not support them.

What will this accomplish? Money talks…

    * Again – let the Obama supporters pony up.
    * Cannot support an organization that is supposedly based on democratic principles, but yet has done everything to steal this election for their “preferred nominee”.

    4. Figure out what companies and organizations support the Obama Campaign and stop supporting them.

This should be information that is available. See which companies are contributing to the Obama campaign and then stop buying their product or use their service. Along with that send the company a quick friendly note saying you unfortunately can no longer buy their product as they support an organization that does not uphold it’s own democratic principles.

    What will this accomplish?

    * Money talks…
    * No company in this economy can “afford” to lose any customers
    * Reduces the $$ available to the DNC
    * Help get the message across to people like Oprah that this will not be tolerated

    5. Figure out what companies and organizations support the DNC and stop supporting them

This should be public information. See which companies are contributing to the DNC and then stop buying their product. Along with that send the company a quick friendly note saying you can unfortunately no longer buy their product as they support an organization that does not uphold its own democratic principles.

    What will this accomplish?

    * Money talks…
    * No company in this economy can “afford” to lose any customers
    * Reduces the $$ available to the DNC.

    6. Demand the resignation of the individuals who “pushed” through Dean’s plan

    What will this accomplish?

    * We do not accept “cheating” or bending of the rules
    * We will hold those people accountable for their actions

    7. Demand the resignation of Howard Dean

Write to Dean and demand that he steps down from his position as Chairman. He is not worthy of this position and cannot even follow his own rules.

    What will this accomplish?

    * Show him that this WILL effect him personally.
    * If he wants to keep his power, he has to the right things and gain back our respect. I think we can pretty much assume that he will not do this [not in his nature] and therefore demand he resign before we force him to be fired.
    * We need to show that we need our leaders have strong character and believe in the principles of democracy.
    * Show the Republicans that we will not allow them to gain a moral platform over us in the GE as we have taken care of it ourselves.

    8. Demand the resignation of Donna Brazile and state that she needs to live up to her own declarations

Donna Brazile stated on CNN that she will quit her position within the Democratic Party if her superdelegate colleagues decide the party’s nomination. Donna – we accept your resignation.

On May 31st – Donna Brazile stated at the RBC meeting that “My mama taught me to play by the rules and respect the rules…” “When you decide to change the rules, especially, in the middle of the game, it’s called cheating.” What she and Dean’s posse did is “cheating”. Let’s explain it to her.

Tell Donna that she is not a representative for the Democratic Party – she has used her position and influence on national TV to smear the Clintons and the principles that we “Classic Democrats” stand for.

    What will this accomplish?

    * We will not longer accept this type of behavior and we hold people accountable
    * In positions like this people need to have a moral compass

    9. Contact the Super Delegates that supported Obama and are receiving contributions from him in exchange for their “support”.

Let them know that they will not get support from you. You will not support a candidate that is illegitimate and more importantly will not support them as they are being bought.

    What will this accomplish?

    * Money talks…
    * It will make them wonder about their own campaigns and can they afford to lose the “Hillary” voters?
    * Make sure they understand that we will not support them financially, through volunteers efforts and will not vote down ticket for their own elections. Sorry – you make you bed – now lie in it.

    10. Provide Rapid Response to Misinformation / Disinformation

We had an example of this when reports were coming out that Hillary had released her delegates. Don’t believe all the misinformation and think about who could behind such an effort. Tell them to stop it. If Hillary or one of her loyal surrogates says it – then you can believe it – and only then.

    What will this accomplish?

    * Make sure the Obama Campaign, DNC and the Media know that we are watching them closely and will call them out whenever they misstep and use dirty tricks to advance their “movement”.

Hillary cannot do this – but we can. In any effort that we do – we must be cordial and respectful – just like Hillary would be.

Use email as a tool to reach out to friends and family and ask them to help. This will also keep it “off-line so to speak” and the Obama supporters bots will not see what actions you are taking…

If we all do our part – we can make this happen and reclaim back our Democratic Party, and in turn level the playing field for Hillary.

WE ARE THE PEOPLE – 18 MILLION OF US STRONG

LET’S CREATE THE CHANGE WE CAN AND DO BELIEVE IN!!

ARE YOU WILLING TO DO YOUR PART FOR HILLARY & DEMOCRACY?

I AM. LET’S DO IT TOGETHER.

Each couple of days we will target a certain area and try to get people to organize as one. As we get it moving, we start on the next topic and do it again.

We do it again and again until we have indeed leveled the playing field.

    It’s classic political double-speak.

I agree with those who say people will get tired, long before November, of being accused of racism.

I have to say that this whole debacle in the Democratic party has made me realize that in many ways the far left is just as morally bereft as the far right. I didn’t used to think that. I have always considered myself left of center. But in the last few months I have seen tactics and attitudes used by those on the left that I thought were reserved exclusively for the right wingers. The left can be just as immoral and unethical and they believe the ends justify the means just as much as any rabid right winger.

The left has exhibited truly disgusting behavior with accusations of racism, in the sexism and tolerance of it and in their support for the suppression of free speech.

I stopped cold going to all my favorite sites. It was as if one day they had been taken over by body snatchers. It was all Obama all the time. Ugly, mean, nasty and lowbrow. No more discussion, no more critiques. Unless you wanted to be called a racist. Just boring, soul killing echo chambers. I even looked at FreeRepublic–something I never did in the past, and found their postings to be more civil than those on the liberal sites! What happened to these people at these liberal sites? They have become so low.

I came here, and now I can’t stay away! The whole political spectrum is represented here, and I like that! I also found kindred souls who see through Obama.

  • s. hall

Thomas — when Obama moans about us all being racists for not wanting him as President you have the media falling in line behind him echoing his words. This is supposed to engender guilt in those of us who want a competent president. I have never been a racist in my life and I love my country and its people. I will not vote for a man who decided he was the messiah 149 days after becoming a Senator. NOT GOOD ENOUGH BY HALF.

Using the race card would not work if Obama was a legitimate candidate. But he is not.

Oil is 19th century technology. It replaced whale blubber as a fuel.

Real leadership is finding a 21st century solution. Not kicking the can down the road until the next energy war.

Reliance on oil must come to an end.

  • s. hall

Why — McCain has the experience and the principles to keep this country Democratic. I don’t need you and your 100 reasons to vote against McCain. Give me 100 reasons why I should vote for a man who stands for nothing.

  • s. hall

Obama in one sentence: I am black (sort of), so I am entitled to be President.

  • Thomas

That’s the MSM’s agenda. They have been successful so far because on one has called them on it.

We are waking up just in the nick of time.

    Hillary in August. Nothing less.

  • memyself&i

We are still an oil-based economy. That will not change in the near future. So while we try to increase our use of alternative forms of energy, we still need oil. I support Senator McCain’s plan to drill off shore, while increasing America’s research in and use of alternative energy like wind, solar, battery, and nuclear.

You missed one. This coup d’etat of the DNC could not have occurred without the support of Nancy Pelosi.

  • tampagurl

You’re right Thomas but we can’t just stop cold turkey. I’m afraid our government should have started the change 20 years ago but sadly they didn’t. In the meantime they can drill now and start mandating polices for the new cars, build the hydro power, windmills, nuclear plants, and anything else that will help us get off oil.

I personally know people that are having a hard time putting gas in their car just to go to work. Our economy needs help and IMHO, drilling would be a psychological bump.

In response to Obama’s claim that Republicans will use race to stoke fear, Lt. Col Allen West, candidate for Congress in Florida’s 22 District issued this release: (Clarice Feldman)

“My advice to Senator Obama is to run as a Man and Leader, and the American people will evaluate you as such, not as a victim. This is a Presidential race, based solely on a capacity to lead the United States of America. It is not about skin tone…however, perhaps we should come to expect these immature statements.

It also seems rather humorous that the Presidential candidate who was supposed to be such a “uniter” and transcend race is the one talking about it the most. If Senator Obama was confident in his abilities and character, he would not need to create a crutch for failure. Senator Obama has just tipped his hand, any criticism of him and his policies will be directly attributed to racism. I congratulate Senator Obama for taking race relations in America back some 30 years.” Lt. Col Allen West

  • Thomas

If you started drilling new wells tomorrow it would take 3 to 5 years to bring that oil to market.

If you want the price of oil to drop $30 a barrel next week, raise the margin requirement for commodity contracts to 75% from 50%

How many barrels of oil do you think we burn daily supporting our troops; vehicles, aircraft, navy battle groups?

Also, oil leases on federal lands, that are not off shore, are not being developed by the oil companies.

And that’s why he’s dangerous. He complements what’s wrong today.

  • Thomas

Thanks, but no thanks. I will vote for Hillary in November.

  • tampagurl

Well Thomas, if we don’t do something now in 3 to 5 years gas will be even higher and we will be having the same debate. As for the oil leases on federal land, just because they have leases that doesn’t mean there is oil there or that it is cost effective to get it out. but what is wrong with allowing them to drill where they know there is oil?

I’m sorry but I just don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want us to be free of foreign oil, even if gas prices stay as they are.

  • tampagurl

Excellent response Lt. Col Allen West!!!!!

  • ArealDemocrat

Oprah also played the race card.

She implied that supporting Hillary would be a form of slavery.

  • Thomas

Drilling on land is cheaper than drilling in the ocean.

“Drilling” is the opposite of doing something.

We pay for oil in dollars. This regime has allowed the dollar to lose over 30% of its value in the last 7 years.

High oil prices is the symptom not the disease.

  • tampagurl

So we should do nothing then? And the oil companies do want to drill off shore, do you oppose that as well?

  • tampagurl

wow!!!!! why did she say that?

  • memyself&i

You assume that speculation accounts for $30 of the price of oil. So far we do not have evidence of this. Even if this is true, decreasing the margin for domestic traders does not stop international speculators. Speculators are betting on low supply. Drilling and increasing future supplies will actually help decrease the price of oil today, more so than raising the margin

Demand for oil has increased dramatically, largely due to the economic growth of China and India. Each day there are 1,000-1,300 new cars in China. According to The Independent, 85 million barrels of oil are consumed daily, and “the most conservative estimates from the International Energy Agency that figure will rise to 113 million barrels by 2030″.

I agree with you that we have to become less oil dependent. Eventually, oil will run out. However, so much of our economy, not only transportation, running machinery, or heating uses oil that this will take time. I got the following information from The Independent.

    * Most farming equipment is either built in oil-powered plants or uses diesel as fuel. Nearly all pesticides and many fertilizers are made from oil.

    * Most plastics, used in everything from computers and mobile phones to pipelines, clothing and carpets, are made from oil-based substances.

    * Manufacturing requires huge amounts of fossil fuels. The construction of a single car in the US requires, on average, at least 20 barrels of oil.

    * Most renewable energy equipment requires large amounts of oil to produce.

    * Metal production – particularly aluminium – cosmetics, hair dye, ink and many common painkillers all rely on oil.

With today’s technology, I don’t think it will take 10 years to explore, drill, and get oil. Those oppose to drilling use this figure but I don’t see support for this. I want to see more information about this. But even if it takes that long, we need to do it. We cannot afford to not drill.

When she was asked by a woman “how could she” on her choosing Obama over Hillary, Oprah said that “I may be a woman, but I’m a FREE woman!”

This was after she said how far we as a country have come along with race and gender. Her logic was that because of that, she could support the man over the woman. She equated supporting her own gender with slavery. To this day I still cannot believe she of all women, used her position among women to give the message that it is O.K. to go against Hillary, the first woman with a real shot at becoming the president. Oprah’s subtle racially-charged messages were a distant second for me back then, but now I see that it only made what she did to Hillary and women voters, worse.

    1. Increase margin requirements for commodity contracts to 70%.

    2. Raise interest rates .5%

    3. Green light 6 additional refineries around the country.

    4. Stop selling our Alaska crude oil to Japan.

    5. Switch the Bush tax credit for 6,000 pound vehicles over to electric/hybrid vehicles.

    6. Create a national conservation program starting now!

  • Thomas

    It happens.

  • memyself&i

I think a lot of it is concern for the environment. I think most Americans do care about the environment, but we need to earn a living and take care of our families. It also doesn’t make sense to give control of supply of oil to nations who don’t like us and could care less if our economy collapses. Some of them of them are even using that money to fund terrorists who want to harm us.

We have the technology to drill and protect the environment. Norway has been drilling off its coast for years. Drilling at home also creates jobs at home.

  • tampagurl

Thomas, I just don’t understand you. What reason is there for waiting?

  • memyself&i

It is not a rush. It is already years too late. Our economy is very weak, and a big part of the problem is high energy prices. We cannot begin to talk about improving our economy without addressing the high cost of oil. People are struggling to make ends meet. Wages are not increasing but everything else is increasing. It costs more to drive to work, drive to school, feed the family, clothes the kids, etc.

Drill and start moving this nation towards alternative forms of energy.

  • Thomas

I was in college in 1974. Don’t believe everything you hear and see on YouTube.

  • tampagurl

Your right, I want to protect the environment too but people can get carried away with it also. It reminds me of Obama saying …You can eat all you want and drive your suv’s and keep your thermostat’s set at 72 and think it will be OK with the rest of the world. Do you think he is conserving on the campaign trail?

  • Thomas

I hate to break it to you but it makes no difference if we drill or not – the cost of gas is not going back to previous levels.

You will never see gas under $3 a gallon again. Why? Because they don’t have to lower the price to sell it to you.

That’s a harsh piece of reality. But true.

If you really want to the price of oil drop; approach a different source of energy.

If the oil companies feel that they are about to lose market share they will cut the price to retain customers.

  • tampagurl

Well Carter excepted the party nomination in 1976 and I remember it very well. He was one of the worst presidents we ever had. That’s why he only had one term.

  • tampagurl

Sorry Thomas, I think that’s not very realistic.

  • tampagurl

It’s more about our independence than the price, but I believe drilling will if nothing else stabilize the price.I think you and I are going to have to agree to disagree however.

  • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 Vince P

Thomas: you’re writing a bunch of bullshit. No one has any idea where the price is going to go with additional supply, though the usual economic rules would say the prices will drop. In addition, the market would be much more confident about its supply situation if it knew it has major development on-going.. this would keep the market from getting bent out of shape for every little reason.

Approaching different source of energy is like saying “Wait for the unicorn to arrive because you’re out of toothpicks and you can use the horn on your teeth”

I personally think that there is a very powerful movement going on. I think Obama is a puppet, that his sole purpose in running in this election, is to divide our country. Start the divide, which will continue to grow, and grow fast. The blogs are proof of that. All the hate, death threats. Now we have the perfect fuel on the fire. In the back ground, in the shadows are the many known radical, terrorist, anti-American associates, just waiting for the perfect time to light the fire. And indeed they will light the fire, they want to bring the USA down, to its knees. Atfer all, they HATE us. They want to destroy us. What better way to accomplish that, than to have the help of the American people in destroying our great country.

The Herm? What’s your take on the real thinking in the AA community?

Did they buy his race card bit?

  • No Obama Not Ever

I wasn’t a racist going into this election. Born and bred in NYC, I grew up in an urban environment where racism wasn’t an issue — we were all the same, regardless of the color of our skin. I went on to become an attorney, working for the poor, mostly of color. My clients, colleagues and many of my friends are people of color.

I would like to thank Barack Obama for injecting racism into my world. For placing a divide where there never was one. I now see myself as a racist when I never was before. I’m tired of the crying foul whenever race is mentioned, even in the most innocuous way. It’s forced me to look at my own environment through a different lens. My clients, indigent from some of the worst neighborhoods in NYC, claim racism has kept them down, poor education, targetting by police, lack of resources and investment in their communities. I believe them. I see it. Most don’t graduate from high school, many see the inside of a jail cell before they see the inside of a college, many have parents who have done drugs, they’ve been in and out of foster care their entire lives. Welfare, Medicaid, food stamps are their primary means of getting through life. They’ve been kept down.

I have more in common with them than Barack Obama.

Obama, with his exclusive private school education in Hawaii, his degrees from Ivy League universities, his extended family — bank president typical white grandma, his international travel as a child — the only thing he has in common with the inner city kid from the ghetto is a jump shot.

Obama has never suffered at the hands of racism. He’s never been kept down by racism. He’s black when it’s convenient. He is an affirmative action candidate.

Thank you Obama. Thank you, I am now a racist.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I still find my liberal bearing, in spite of his nonsense.

This year? I happen to line up with Latinos. LOL* Boy, are we tight!

I laugh because it’s funny how politics pushes you into various beds. I’m more firm on my support now for reasonable immigration than before.

They won my respect in LA.

I will listen to them now over immigration and solutions.

I knew they weren’t nutcases. But I still saw my local community hospital decimated by uninsured patients, my schools spiral down due to the problem, and no help, none, from Bush.

The middle class was sold out, again, for corporate interests, who love the dirt-cheap labor influx.

But my Latino leaders who have emerged in LA get it. They TOO are middle-class.

I will listen to their solutions with a great deal more respect now.

So, in a kind of ironic sense, the race card isn’t all bad.

West Answers Obama: Run as a Man and Leader
    June 22, 2008

In response to Obama’s claim that Republicans will use race to stoke fear, Lt. Col Allen West, candidate for Congress in Florida’s 22 District issued this release:

My advice to Senator Obama is to run as a Man and Leader, and the American people will evaluate you as such, not as a victim.

I congratulate Senator Obama for taking race relations in America back some 30 years.

Good that someone called him on his race card crap. The Dems wouldn’t do it. He’d wag their finger if they tried! LOL*
