Weekend Wrap Up, It Sucks to be Obama

Wishing you a happy labor day. Unfortunately, in light of the dismal unemployment numbers out today (see LD’s excellent analysis) the number of people laboring is shrinking. That’s a bad thing. We warned several months ago that the so-called Obama stimulus was no stimulus at all. Why? Most of the money does not get spent until next year and the majority of the expenditures are on Government programs and will do little to actually create job.

Strike one for Barry “Soetoro” Obama. If the job creation was outpacing the job losses he would be on a roll. But they ain’t and he ain’t. Just the opposite. Rising unemployment until next year is the most likely scenario.

Do you know what that means?

More people out of work means fewer tax dollars being collected. This means a growing deficit which in turn will sow the seeds of a major inflationary spike, probably in 2012. Meanwhile the economic storm continues to swirl and the waves of bad news will keep coming. For example, bank losses will continue to increase as the commercial real estate market continues to implode. Bank losses mean lost jobs at banks. Commercial real estate collapse means lost jobs. And those lost jobs spread out into the rest of the economy as people pare back expenditures, stay at home and reduce costs.

Strike two is the fracturing of the Obama mythology. Mr. Hope and Change is now exposed as none other than Mr. Politically Expedient. He also is not too bright, despite David Brooks’ man crush on Barack’s pant leg (see here if you want to read more about David Brooks and the tingle in his nads as he fantasizes about manly Barack Obama). We are witnessing one ham-handed maneuver after another.

Think I’m exaggerating? Let’s go back to his foot-in-mouth disorder over the confrontation between Police Officer Crowely and disgruntled effect Professor Gates in Boston. But he did not stop there. He is now for and against a Public Option on health care. Jumping frantically from one side of a seesaw to the other is not a demonstration of leadership. Old Barky is lost and with the backing of clowns like Rahm Emmanuel and David Axelrod he is not being given a working compass or a functioning flashlight.

That’s not the worst. He allowed prominent democrats to demonize Americans who raised their voices in anger and protest at townhall meetings. Rather than stand up for the right of these folks to speak their mind, Barack initially remained silent while prominent Democrats pilloried the protestors as Nazi thugs. A uniter rather than a divider? Not so much.

Now Barack’s radical leftist meme is now back in the news with the unmasking of him putting an unrepentant communist radical in a high profile job. I refer of course to the now infamous Van Jones. He’s an avowed communist. He signed up to the 9-11 truth petition and is now claiming he did not know what he is signing and he is a black racist. The media and the democratic elite pretended that Barack’s long term relationship with radicals like Bill Ayers and pastor Jeremiah Wright were inconsequential. That was then. Glen Beck has succeeded where others failed in outing the radicals staffing many corners of the Obama Administration.

None of this bodes well for an Obama victory dance. The problems are going to pile up, not disappear in the coming weeks. For Democrats who were counting on Mr. Hope and Change to be a new kind of politician, you can stop counting. It is over, baby!! Obama is exposed for the self-indulgent, visionless hack that he is. It is going to be an ugly fall.

What really hurts is that most of your dear readers knew this was coming many moons ago.

  • Ferd Berfle

Excellent commentary, Larry. You do know how to turn a phrase or two or three. And don’t get me started on that Van Jones cretin. I nearly burst a spleen commenting here last night after watching Glenn Beck. Van Jones is a traitorous bastard who should be run out of town on a rail.

Hope and change is turning into desperation and hand-wringing over at bot central. When the drool-bucket carrying bots resort to biting off fingers, you know they’re about to meltdown. It can happen none to soon.

    Keep on hammering them–please.

  • lightacandle

The thing I notice is that Obama does not appear to like the American people.

Well, he likes those who have great gobs of money to give him, but I’m not sure he even actually likes those people as people. Without their injections of money into his campaign war chests, they would be as scorned by Obama as the rest of us are.

That was one thing about Bill Clinton . . . you knew he liked people … he liked mingling with them … talking to them … listening to them … helping them … sharing a story with them … just being with them.

    Not Obama.

And, as for Michelle, I get the impression it’s all she can do not to be ill every time she has to mingle with people.

FDR liked the American people and trusted that, given the facts, they would come to the right conclusions. FDR enjoyed being with people — and not because they were useful to him or could do something for him or give him money, which are Obama’s main reasons for having anything to do with people.

I also think Obama is the first American president who likes people from elsewhere better (but even them, not so much).

  • Ferd Berfle

Ferd, did you see today’s Beck? He had David Horowitz on. Wasn’t he the former editor of Ramparts Magazine. He didn’t say so but I thought I remembered him from those days. He gave a positively correct assessment of the radical left. Having supported the stupid left myself back in those days, I identify with him. As he stated, the Democratic Party today has no relationship with the party of JFK…yes, we all know but it was refreshing to hear from a formerly very visible radical leftist, now recovered (along with all our recovering Democrats here on NQ).

Great post Larry! I’m now waiting for Arne Duncan to bring Bill Ayers on board.

As I have said before…Barry just wanted to become POTUS. He never wanted to BE POTUS.

He has had such great fun playing with his toys. He’s a player.

Hi Larry! Just so good to see you write, thank you. Great roundup and a good time to sit back and savor, right now. However you have to give a warning when you write:

I had to take a time out, to shower, burn my clothing and wash my eyes.

I did watch the show, Martha. Katmoon dragged me away from the computer to watch (and I’m glad she did). Beck is not as bellicose as he used to be so I now watch him almost daily. The David Horowitz segment was excellent and should be required watching for anyone who wants to fight this botulism infecting our country.

  • carolhaka

I went to the Addison, Texas tea party today with my left over “Hillary for President” sign.

It was a fun event. A few nut cases came over to talk to me about all of the murders the Clintons commented, drugs flown into Little Rock by the CIA for the Clintons (Larry, were you on any of those flights?), and one drunk said, “Hillary? What are you a lesbian?”.

Also, a zillion came over to say they voted for Hillary, or, they didn’t vote for Hillary and wish they had, or, they initially voted for Hillary and then voted for McCain/Palin, or, they initially voted for Hillary and then voted for Palin, or, they intially voted for Hillary and then didn’t vote (I chewed them out for that poor decision), or, what was I doing there with that sign …………..

I was intervied by KRLD local radio, and 2 people on the Tea Party Bus. My sister showed up and was afraid to stand with me because she thought everyone would think I was for Obama.

I had a lot of conversations with people that were enthralled with the idea of a 3rd party with Hillary and Sarah on the ticket. My choice, of course. They were sick of the whole damn bunch of ideas with the tag of Republican or Democrat.

My favorite conversation was when a man stopped with his tall girlfriend or wife and told me he really didn’t mind if a “woman” became President as long as she was a Conservative. He said he would have had a better opinion of Hillary had she left Bill over the “you know who” thing. I promptly told him that was no one’s business but theirs. I didn’t comment on his enlightment and consideration that a “woman” could actually become President.

When sneered at, I told them I wound up voting for Sarah and hoped that had the situation been reversed, they would look to Character and Experience and Common Sense, not affiliation, to make their decision as to who to vote for.

It was hot, my make-up was running down my face, but it was a good day.

I will post some pictures when I get them sent to me from my sister’s cell phone.

    Good article by Charles Krauthammer

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/03/AR2009090302859_pf.html

    Obama, the Mortal

    By Charles Krauthammer
    Friday, September 4, 2009

What happened to President Obama? His wax wings having melted, he is the man who fell to earth. What happened to bring his popularity down further than that of any new president in polling history save Gerald Ford (post-Nixon pardon)?

The conventional wisdom is that Obama made a tactical mistake by farming out his agenda to Congress and allowing himself to be pulled left by the doctrinaire liberals of the Democratic congressional leadership. But the idea of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi pulling Obama left is quite ridiculous. Where do you think he came from, this friend of Chávista ex-terrorist William Ayers, of PLO apologist Rashid Khalidi, of racialist inciter Jeremiah Wright?

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

I did check further on David Horowitz. This is a guy who knows exactly what Obama and his radical “czars” have in mind for the United States of Soros.

I read a chilling account of his experiences with the Black Panthers. The episode did end his association with the “New Left” in the 60′s.

“Horowitz was an editor at the influential New Left magazine, Ramparts.”

“Horowitz was a confidant of Black Panthers leader Huey P. Newton, and provided legal and financial assistance to the black revolutionary organization. He would later cite experiences with his involvement in the Panthers as the primary catalyst for reassessing his views. In December 1974, his close friend Betty Van Patter, a bookkeeper for the Panthers, was murdered.[4] While the case officially went unsolved, Horowitz has maintained that the Panthers were responsible for her murder, which, he alleges, they committed in order to silence Van Patter from revealing the organization’s financial corruption, and thereafter covered up the killing.”

Some gorgeous man in a Navy shirt (probably FBI) talked to me for quite some time. He said he was sick of McCain and his wishy washy bs. Zero. In case it wasn’t already painfully obvious, the mainstream media is dead.

  • sowsear

I agree on McCain. He dropped the ball. I’ve wondered since if he was told to give up. That doesn’t seem like the McCain we thought he was, but.. he did give up, and he stopped appreciating Palin when she proved to be the more popular of the two. His campaign threw her to the wolves right off the bat with the Gibson interview and didn’t back her up in the least. I was diasappointed in Republicans that they seemed to want to lose.

  • Katmoon

    Martha,

I thought the Horowitz segment was quite good, and I particularly took note at the end where he gave up a sort of battle plan. I took some initiative and have been looking up recall laws, and which states can and have and the whole picture of how it works.(18 of which Nevada reads quite well) What surprised me was there were tons of blogger’s looking for the same information-so thus the humor as it helps and keeps me far away from worry. If they can’t recall at the higher levels, they can darned sure get their local board and officials who played pretty for their own advancement.

  • Ferd Berfle

I’m beginning to wonder if the Bobblehead-in-Chief ever went to any school–after all, he doesn’t have to worry about hiding what he never had. No friends from these schools. Only anecdotal evidence he was ever there….

The utter lack of any sort of record is a real poser.

  • cathnealon

When I heard Gibbs say that parents’ concerns were “silly” I couldn’t believe it.These people must think we can’t hear or something. Well, joblessness is only going to get worse because Barry has done nothing except give those of us who still have a job money away to orgs like ACORN and Jones’ communist green projects. What can he say on Wednesday, no one trusts him, no one believes him and the time is ripe for Beck or somebody to find his records and expose this fraud. What’s he going to do after Christmas when the economy really hits the fan? Perhaps he’ll appoint another food bank czar or something.

But I can see why he would leave no writings–he is all slogan and catch-phrases and no depth; and it would be difficult to have a two-way conversation when his entire focus is on himself, which in turn leaves out any chance at a meaningful relationship.

Van Jones being a truther is bad enough. But add in his comment that white polluters steared poison into minority communities and then the latest:

“You’ve never seen a Columbine done by a black child. Never. They always say, ‘We can’t believe it happened here. We can’t believe it’s these suburban white kids.’ It’s only them. Now, a black kid might shoot another black kid. He’s not going to shoot up the whole school.”

Isn’t homicide the leading cause of death for school aged black children? If so, Van Jones shouldn’t be so glib about how black kids would never mass murder their schoolmates. Well they do, they just choose to kill them away from school. But that can be explained if you look at the almost 50% drop out rate for AA children. It seems only reasonable that they won’t be killing at school if they’re not attending school in the first place.

I figure Mr. Jones will “resign” tomorrow. That gives the Obama WH 2 days before the big kiddie speech and 3 days before the Congress speech to let the controversy die down. I really can’t see how Obama can let this go on much longer or even the tingle up my legs supporters might start to wonder.

I used to think that the Carter Whitehouse was the most amateur ever, with it’s chief of staff showing up to meetings in his tennis shorts. But when I started watching appointments that were reported on the news and hearing about others that were not, I knew that this administration is the most amateur in modern times.

Amateurs make mistakes. That’s why they are called amateurs. The biggest mistakes they make are assuming they are smarter than their critics and trying to move faster than their critics can follow. Listening to you critics is, in governing, what helps make you grow from an amateur to a professional. Toss out the worthless suggestions and study the interesting counter suggestions to evaluate your own. Professional leaders do that every day. The kids in the Dumbhouse, on 1600, are not.

I fear that this team in Washington is so amateur that they do not even know how to begin the path to becoming semi-pro.

Right. I saw the interview, too — good interview.

Interestingly, Beck asked Horowitz (I will paraphrase here) whether Horowitz thought that Obama is the Architect of this new Democrat party or the Anointed One.

Horowitz replied that Obama is more just the Anointed One — in other words, the “front man” or the one who delivers the pitch.

Horowitz seems to think that Obama’s handlers, supporters, are the “brains” behind the movement, not Obama.

I have always thought that myself. While Obama is “bright enough,” I think it is clear that he is just doing the bidding of his financial backers who are calling the shots in line with their own ideological agenda.

We are on Medicare and my husband has secondary insurance for both of us from his former employer. That secondary insurance for the two of us went OVER $17,000 this year. Because of the contract that was in force at the time he retired, we pay just 10% of that. However, some present employees pay much more for their coverage. How long before our insurance will be dropped? As it is, if my husband dies before I do, I will no longer have insurance. Lucky me, I can get Ofraudcare when I’m 80 yrs. old.

Nice! Obambi’s an aloof, effite, pompous, insufferable ass. He’s not bright, but he’s been fed a constant diet of ‘you’re so great’ flakes for so long (that he swallows happily) that it isn’t possible for him to express any real humility. the sooner he leaves office, the better. With Pres Biden we can get down to real issues debate without the ridiculous character analyses of the deeply flawed Obambi.

  • Patience

I can’t allow myself to say I Told You So yet. What “major” media chooses to cover (especially network news) — and how they cover it — is the polar opposite of opinions we read and share here on NQ.

Van Jones? I haven’t heard much of anything from them about him.

Cult of personality? The distinction — about the first nation-wide presidential address to school children with accompanying Dept. of Ed curricula suggestions to teachers to ask students if He inspired them and what can they do to help Him — is totally lost on major media. Complaining parents are all partisan bickerers.

Higher unemployment? Not good, but the stock market’s still up so things aren’t all bad.

AND to be honest, things aren’t as bad as some gloom and doom types predicted. Yet. Business isn’t good. People are nervous. People are out of work. BUT there aren’t any iconic and troubling images like the long soup-kitchen lines during the Great Depression.

Die-hard POTUS fans think he’s doing okay. He cares. He’s smart. He’s trying. As for David Brooks, after reading Larry’s New Republic link, I thought of Brook’s confession a couple of months ago — that he allowed a Republican senator to rest his hand on his thigh throughout an entire dinner. He’s starting to remind me of a locker room towel boy infatuated with the team. Maybe his interest in politics has a psychosexual root: he saw the sharply-pressed pleat of Obama’s trouser leg and knew he’d be president???

I’m not bothered by Van Jones being a truther – but if he’s a real truther, he needs to get on the ball with that – most 9/11 truthers are also NWO conspiracy theorists and they think Obama is part of the whole Illuminati plan.

So what’s Van Jones doing being part of the conspiracy, eh? C’mon, Van, don’t you know that Obama hangs with the Bilderbergers like Bush did?

PS I am not sure about 9/11 but I do believe in the NWO stuff.

    http://naturalborncitizen.wordpress.com/2009/09/04/factcheck-org-capitulates-admits-error-in-obama-kenyan-citizenship-analysis/

When will Barack revoke his other 2 or 3 citizenships? He has jus sanguinis allegiance and legal jurisdiction with Britain and Kenya, and is possibly naturalized Indonesian—all have legal obligations (like Betty Mahmoody’s daughter) to those countries and obvious treaty conflicts, and he’s obviously never been a “natural born citizen” (i.e. born without ANY country holding jurisdiction over a US citizen other than America).

But the great mass of Americans, the big center, will, I strongly suspect, not be listening. Mr. Obama has grown boring. And it’s not Solid Boring, which is fine in a president and may be good. It’s sort of Faux Eloquent Boring, especially on health care. The president likely doesn’t know this, and his people won’t have told him because they don’t know it either, but Mr. Obama always has the same sound, approach, logic, tone, modulation. He always has the same stance. There’s no humor or humility in it. News is surprise, and he never makes news.

without a doubt. obama has been a tool since day 1. i think this goes all the way back to when he was first elected to the illinois state senate, running unopposed after having his opponents knocked off the ballot. i don’t think that this “just happened.”

whatever judge or committee that was in charge of determining ballot eligibility would have known that by eliminating obama’s opponents they would be giving obama the senate seat; there also was probably a lot of leeway in making the decision, as a lot of these things are in the eye of the beholder.

i have no doubt that some powerful person put in a call to said judge/committee and said (in so many words), “hey look, i want my buddy obama to have this seat,” and so it was done. no way in heck do i believe that the decision to eliminate obama’s opponents was done purely on merit; it was chicago, after all.

at that moment, obama made it known that he could be bought. no doubt he had arranged beforehand with the entity that put him in power as to just what he would deliver if he was given the seat. the scam succeeded, and so began obama’s career as a tool for hire.

Thanks, Larry, great article as usual. I think that the next few days are going to be telling about Chairman Obama’s future course as Organizer-in-Chief:

    1. Whether he tosses Comrade Jonesky under the his monster truck bus; and

    2. The number of viewers in his 9 September address to Congress.

He may keep Comrade Jonesky on the payroll because that may be a way to silence him from going off the reservation regarding what is really going on in the Red House. If so, this ain’t gonna go good for Barry.

If the viewer number of his big primetime address #215 is dismally low, then it means that he has totally lost all trust of America (hasten that day, Lord!).

Of course, there’s also this little hitherto unnoticed event to take place on Indoctrination Day:

    Larry,

Thank you for the post. It is encouraging that many more people are seeing the truth about Obama. What worries me most is that I still haven’t seen anyone who I think is yet ready to take over this big mess–except Hillary, of course. I am just not sure Hillary will want it, and I wouldn’t blame her.

I’m thinking of taking out the old T-shirt I wore during Shrub’s last term. It has the “No Blame” sign on the front and “I didn’t vote for him” on the back. It will work just as well for That One.

I am just really axious that we can find a candidate who has experience, knowledge, and management abilities to take over. And, yes, we need one who likes the United States’ old ideals and its people.

  • elizabethrc

I think it’s important to recognize that nothing done by this administration is done without an ulterior motive behind it. In this case, the fact that the so called stimulus package ‘rewards’ won’t happen until next year ties in nicely with what is bound to be a major PR campaign around election time. Be sure that the timing on this is no accident and one could be callous enough to say that he is using the pain of Americans to further his own political ends, which would be the aggrandizement of all things Obama.
It remains to be seen if Americans are quite (still) so gullible as to not see through this. I am dubious.

  • Ferd Berfle

I am just really axious that we can find a candidate who has experience, knowledge, and management abilities to take over. And, yes, we need one who likes the United States’ old ideals and its people.

You would think out of all the politicians, we could find at least one with these qualities. Oh, wait, we did, and she was savaged by the extreme right and extreme left. Imo our most pressing problem is educating the fringe elements in our society that neither bellicose posturing nor hopey-changey flights of fancy are ultimately productive or actually in their best interests. Martha,

As you correctly pointed out David Horowitz was a member of the 60′s SDS (Students for a Democratic Society). For the last decade David has been running the Discover the Networks Blog, and Front Page Magazine.

Yes David was editor for Rampart Magazine back in the days. Like many of us “recoverees” from that generation, David Grew Up, as did most of us.

The Obots are longing for “The Good Old Days” they read about but are much too young to ever have experienced.

  • Barbara

Hi! I just wanted to say that we really should try, very hard to encourage as many folks as possible, to simply stop watching television, period- I know, I know- Americans can’t stop watching tv- my husband and I only watch PBS, and then only after checking their local programming. If they don’t have something on like Mystery or Masterpiece Theatre, we won’t even watch that- we have slowly collected a huge number of DVDs- things we love to watch, and listen to conservative talk radio…I simply can’t abide the liberal news, the insanely stupid reality shows, and the commercials have gotten so bad- what more can I say? Reading books, taking up an interesting hobby, and being creative does more for a person than being attached to the “boob-tube!”

I am not overjoyed about Biden. Maybe, just maybe he might be better.

The only good thing about Biden is his wife Jill. She is teaching full time, and actually is a very busy involved woman in the right ways. Oh, and she knows how to dress decently unlike that “slutty” look we females are now subjected to, much to our shame.

  • FrenchNail

Yes Tammy, I can tell you first hand what a lot of Americans ignore: That as a foreign student you get preferential treatment and lighter requirements of work and completion, the goal of your enrolment being not to get you an education but a stamp of “American Approval” and to provide preferred connexions for the body of American Alumni, once you return in your country of origin.

  • Prime Obot

You’re suggesting that the party that controls the White House and both houses of Congress is dead? Funny!

See you in 2012, when unemployment is declining and health care is rolling out to millions of lower middle class American families. I’m sure you Republicans will do well nominating Mitt Romney or something.

  • Prime Obot

I think that this comment kind of encapsulates the thinking on this site, from what I can see: you folks actually believe that HRC and Sarah Palin have something in common other than gender.

    Priceless.

  • Benjamin

Yep. Van Jones – a radical communist community agitator (with a very big mouth) who hooks up with the enviro-statist movement. Gee, certainly sounds like Obama’s kind of guy to me.

What kills me are the people who wonder, “what kind of vetting is Team Obama doing?” Heh, I’d say Obama knew exactly what he was doing when he tapped Jones to be his point man on “green jobs.” Why doesn’t someone ask Jones how many green jobs he’s created, and what are you doing with the 30 billion provided in that phony stimulus bill? Of course, we know he’s not there to create any jobs. He’s there to agitate against and punish our mainstream sources of energy, like oil, coal, natural gas, and so forth.

Van Jones is just the tip of the iceberg.

  • Ferd Berfle

Oh, the humanity–the babe-in-the-woods is back for more abuse.

And you think that Your Anointed One has something to do with competence, transparency, and intellectual prowess. Moreover, you actually believe that anyone other than a mindless automaton such as yourself will actually concede any point in your fallacy-ridden, prepackaged prevarications, pseudo-arguments, histrionics, hogwash and hyperbole that you’re working overtime, apparently, to push.

Yours isn’t priceless–it’s merely junk commentary and yet another example of the illiterati such as you, Goob, pushing the cart while the horse lies helpless underneath it.

Can we actually get an obamabot who has more than two-brain cells rattling around in all that unused real estate those bozos call their minds?

  • Ferd Berfle

Enough. This is getting more than old. I lost yet another comment that was innocuous, at worst. Can an administrator kindly extricate my comment from the random-comment shredder?

Left- and right-wing bots can post their collective unadulterated bilge all day long without a single loss and insult the regulars here with impunity but an NQ regular has to constantly beg to have their justifiably terse and on-point comments heard.

You think it is Obama who f$#ked the economy? What on Earth are you talking about? The economy was in desperate free fall before the man was even elected. It has since stabilized, everyone now believes the recession is ending, and growth and jobs should resume by early next year, if not sooner.

As for health care: it was a mess back in the early 1990s, when the Clintons tried to fix it.

  • Ferd Berfle

Yeah, dud, and your master is Bush III. You are bereft of independent thought, which is only demonstrated by your constant repetition of the Obama talking points dreck. Teak,

    Is this for real?

Why do I see Kissenger on the BO White House “drop by” list?

  • Prime Obot

The funny thing is the guy I know who got banned from this site for insulting people. And yet, practically every response to everything I’ve written since last night has been an ad hominum attack. So lame.

Obama is Bush III, huh? And also a Communist? Are you guys even aware of your self-contradiction?

Nobody has answered my principle objection, which is that the economy was in free fall, and the massive bailouts well underway, before Obama was even elected, let alone took office and made any decisions himself.

As for unemployment: anyone with an even elementary knowledge of economics understands that unemployment is a trailing indicator, meaning that it’s the last data point that will turn around as the recession ends. Things like the stock market, consumer spending, industrial inventories — these are leading indicators, and these data points are already pointing up.

But apparently that sort of actual analysis and discussion isn’t in vogue here. Calling visitors names is. Congratulations.

  • Ferd Berfle

Not true, goob. It is you who thinks that your master, That One, and truth and transparency have something in common. I’ll bet you wear patent-leather white shoes, non-matching plaid pants, shirts, and suits, and a big white belt to hold them all together.

We’re not interested in used cars or worn-out hyperbole from a fast-talking, brain-disengaged, walking, talking wreck of a 1970s clothes-horse reject.

  • Prime Obot

I’m just curious, Fred — is everyone who voted for Obama an “Obamabot?”

  • Ferd Berfle

You are functionally illiterate as well as being terminally obtuse–that’s FERD, bot. That you can’t even get my moniker correct only demonstrates that you not only don’t pay attention but you don’t care that you don’t. Like all shiftless slackers, you get by on attitude since you have no intellect.

When you get a clue and some attention to the most rudimentary detail, come back and ask the question, mindless.

  • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

Do you really think Obama makes the decisions? LOL!

  • Prime Obot

It won’t. Most economists already know this. Eventually you all will too. Unemployment should peak around 10% or 10.1% sometime in the next few months, but by the end of this year or early next year it will be declining, in part because of Obama’s stimulus package.

  • Ferd Berfle

    The Oracle speaketh. LMAO.

My response to you is: Sauce for the goose, Mr. Slavish.

  • Ferd Berfle

Writing a thesis and actually believing in the method are two different things. HRC does not adhere to his philosophy.

  • Ani

Yes, the American people are that gullible. If Bush can get re-elected, I have no doubt people will buy this ploy too.

  • Peggy Sue

Exactly MWC. The Obamatrons have picked up where Bush&Co left off, then pressed the pedal to the metal. Whether you have and “R” or a “D” stamped on the destruction is irrelevant. We’re watching the country disinigrate, our entire financial system dismantled, while the cheerleaders shake their pom-poms and chant how good it is.

Larry’s headline: It Sucks to be Obama.

I would argue it sucks even worse to be a citizen in Obamaland.

The fraud, the corruption and flatout incompetence is stunning. And the kool-aide is not working. I’ve been reading wails from the Far Left. They’ve got their chips on Wednesday night’s address to Congress, that somehow Obama will make a stirring speech and put things right.

Fools! All of them. This Administration is an epic fail after 7 short months. And Obama is as I feared: Jimmy Carter, deja vu all over again. Of course, Obama has time to prove even worse.

  • TeakWoodKite

Obot when you don’t like the result it’s Bush’s fault, but when it’s Obama’s stimulus “package”, for you it is Joy to the World.

The un-enjoyment will continue to rise past the point you say it will. BECAUSE OF BO.

In an economy that is predicated on consumer spending, jobs are NOT a “trailing” indicator.

Do you really believe that economics as it was known still continues to function?

    Your sad and that sucks.

  • Ferd Berfle

“Prime” Obot is just another steer being led to the abattoir by the Sheep-Hearder-in-Chief.

  • TeakWoodKite

Nellie, No I have no list to look at since BO won’t release it either, which was my point. That said, I sure he won’t be refused.

This illuminati pulp fiction has been alive and well since I was but knee high to a grasshopper. And Kissenger belongs to the club.

And this is what, Lou? Your excuse for voting for Obama?

Sorry. That scored zero. Try again.

  • oowawa

I know Thee One must be one of the illuminati, because he glows. I have seen direct evidence of this inner illumination on many magazine covers, photographs, and posters. Usually it focuses around the head area and takes the form of a halo. See for yourself!

Standard, I don’t think the race card will work for the Republicans, anymore than it did for the Dems. As a recovering Dem myself, I watched the Democratic party destroy itself.

Both Dems and Republicans need to marched to the woodshed.

    And no one comes out!

  • Prime Obot

Excellent. Thank you Fred. I will stand by my prediction, in fact I’ll repeat it: unemployment will peak at 10.0% or 10.1, and by February or March 2010, unemployment will be declining.

Similarly, I haven’t forgotten all the predictions here on NQ about how the election last fall would go. ;)

  • Prime Obot

Um, yes, I do believe (like most economists) that in EVERY recession, unemployment is a trailing indicator. And I do believe (like most economists) that the stimulus package has helped a lot. And yes, lol, I believe that economics as it was known continues to function.

  • oowawa

    I do believe . . . I do believe . . . I believe

That’s the spirit! Same magical stuff that brought Tinkerbell back to life . . . Good thing too–O’s economists are going to need lots of that magic fairy dust . . .

  • Peggy Sue

Well, this is interesting–a new troll line of attack. Second one I’ve read this afternoon, too.

We’ve had angry Obamatrons [we'll show you], self-righteous breastbeater types; then condescending, concern Obamatrons like Nony Mouse; legal trolls; historian trolls [loved that, particularly after the Gates fiasco]; and now we have the excuse-a-minute, it was all f**ked up to begin with fools.

Face it, Obamatrons: you were had. The magic show is over. And though: Yes, We Can may have tasted sweet last year, there’s a reason it left a bitter after taste.

    You were tricked, bamboozled, hoodwinked.

And the real tragedy? You dragged the whole damn country along for the ride.

  • Margaret

Great article, thanks for the link

  • Nellie

    Thanks Teak.

Whew – After this summer I am almost ready to believe anything. Getting gulliable in my old age I guess.

My very best to you and your family.

Ready for school, or has yours already started?

  • Peggy Sue

    When the recession ends???

But, but, but . . . we’ve been told the recession has ended. How do I know? Because the Obama folks told me so.

And the stock market’s going up? Yes, just like a roller coaster before it plunges. Why? Because the sleight-of-hand and manipulation only works so long. If you don’t like the unemployment numbers [and btw, underemployment figures take us to a staggering 16.5 number and there's been a huge jump in food stamps for the people still clinging to their jobs], please check out the bankruptcy rate, the fall in retail sales, imports and exports. You might want to peek at the predicted commercial real estate disaster coming our way and all those ARMs resetting or how China and Japan are starting to send volleys across our financial bow. But boy, those CEO’s on Wall St. will have a good Christmas. Why? Because they have all our money! No worry, Bernake has fired the printing presses into high gear.

Just close your eyes. Blame the other guy and keep whispering, Yes, We Can, Yes, We Can.

Why didn’t the guys on the Titanic think of that?

  • Ferd Berfle

You also believe in That One. So much for your blather. Try peddling your rubbish elsewhere.

They may need another crisis. The problem is that it is going to be hard to have that crisis without owning it. The September crisis was convenient because it was blamed on Bush when in reality it was a run on the treasury made by the rich elites. What is to become of little organizing Barry now that he isn’t so useful of an i.diot?

all those chicago thugs in the WH may be corrupt but they are not stupid. everything they have done has a purpose. (as rham emanuel said “dont let a good crisis go to waste”) high unemployment, mortgage foreclosures, take over of the banks and auto industry, etc., etc. they want americans to become so downtrodden and desperate that we will be more than willing to let the govt. take over everything else in desperate hopes of getting some help. i believe this has been their plan all along to take control of this country. we must stay vigilant!!

    Obama is Bush III, huh?

Isn’t it the least bit odd that Bush II rubber stamped TARP and Obama and Bush seem to be the wonder twins in the area of the treasury and defense? Never mind what Obama says he stands for… any more than you can take Bush II at face value for being a conservative. No these guys are the same. Which should make you at least wonder… if you would just think about it. Communist? Not hardly. Neither one of them are communists. What is left then? You tell me once you figure in the partnerships between government and business. The nationalism spawned by Bush II and the cult of personality spawned by Obama… though these appear different, in fact they are really much the same thing. Think about it. Read 1930′s history and really think about it. Pretend you aren’t from here and don’t know anything and look at it all fresh.

Unfortunately, this has happened to all of us — even the writers. We all take it upon ourselves to check the spam filter and release as many as we can find. At this moment it is clear. Don’t know why the program is doing this.

Let me spell it out for your Primabotta:

Think of the political continuum as a straight line with you and your fellow traveler bots on the extreme left and the right-wing nutcases and their fellow travelerbots on the extreme right. Are you still with me, pinhead, or do I have to explain straight, line, political, and continuum for you?

Now take those two ends of that line and place them together. Have you got it so far, bothead or do you need an education in what constitutes the ends of a line or what it means to place them together?

Finally, that place where those two lines meet is where the one at whose feet you worship resides. He is both faascist and Communist, Franco and Stalin. Now do you understand, dirtbag?

    And you’re just a fool.

Don’t bother trying again, dimwit–your 10-watt bulb is simply no match for any of us here at NQ.

Does anyone know the name of Van Jones mother and father??? I tried to find it but was hit with a trojan virus, so I stopped. I would like to know since Jarrett and Davis (mentor), are listed on a Communist paper. There are two Jones listed, so I thought maybe it might be connected.

You are right. He’s the first recovered radical lefty I can think of who figured it out and was brave enough to go against the tide…risking his life to do it. It took me a couple of decades and I only risked losing my old friends who can’t experience change…how ironic that they love mouthing it so much. But I completely relate to his political evolution.

And, Yeah, the old lefties know how to romanticize the “movement”, dragging the wannabes along. As Horowitz said, the left doesn’t respect or support children, women or the elderly in their actions.

A couple of men told me they couldn’t see Hillary and Sarah on the same ticket. The Blogger on the tea party express bus that I talked to said she actually wrote a piece on it being a good idea, and she was chastised for it.

I told them plenty of women I know see it as a perfect match. Some just don’t get it.

As an ex-Democrat, one who was with the party since ’72, I can tell you I know many like me. Have you read the numbers that show the only “party” gaining members (not losing them as the Repubs and the Dems are) is the “independent” (in my case “unaffiliated”) party. I would not, if I were you, claim to be a bot of any kind. It shows a lack of concern about your ability to reason independently.

Good luck with that scenario you claim will magically appear before 2012.

    eh….

I wouldn’t say ALL, because during crucial times in this country when racism was rampant, it was needed, but some did learn how to work the system, unfortunately.

Nepotism is a problem as well with many of this ivy schools.

  • TeakWoodKite

Yes it has started. This year the teaching staff is all over the place. I am running into teachers teaching new grades and teaching at multiple locations. It is very tight and the students will suffer more than can be recovered.

Come to think of it, BO shouldn’t spend time talking to students, he should be finding the resources to keep them there.

Just once I would like to see BO put his money where that mouth of his is and Fully fund K-12 education.

OT; I heard John Walsh say recently that the bill he worked so hard for to keep wack jobs of the street, is not funded. So we have one more political pedophile at 1600.

  • TeakWoodKite

Thanks Nellie, though I am playing third trombone in the NQ Big Band, the grove is unmistakable.

When one strips away all the co-opting that is going on with the ‘why’ of the reason “Glen Beck has succeeded where others failed”, it appears that the same forces proir to the primaries are coming to the fore once more. “Cash for Clunkers” is the best description for the BO administration I have heard to date. Heard a guy on the Am dial call in and say that his purchase under the program sits in the garage with no tags, because the dealer was not paid by the Gov. and will not license the car until “we” pay up.

I can’t see the edges of it at this point, wish I could.

  • lorac

    Good one, Teak!

  • Prime Obot

lol Fred. Your level of vitriol is charming. You’re like a little boy performing for his parents’ friends before being sent to bed on Saturday night. Watch me line up vocabulary words to insult the Obama supporter. “your fallacy-ridden, prepackaged prevarications, pseudo-arguments, histrionics, hogwash and hyperbole.” Nice! Let’s take just one of your words: prevarications. I assume you know what it means. So, name one prevarication I’ve been guilty of since I started posting two days ago. Just one. Go for it.

  • Prime Obot

Hillary Clinton is a world-class intellect, champion hard worker, mind-bogglingly knowledgeable policy wonk, decades-long committed liberal/progressive and (in my opinion) quite possibly Obama’s next VP and therefore the most likely Democratic candidate for the presidency in 2016. The idea that she would ever sully herself or her future presidential ticket with a laughingstock like Sarah Palin — or that Palin would ever destroy her own valuable reputation with the bizarro right wing of the Republican/evangelical continuum by associating professionally with a hated Clinton is beyond insulting to HRC; politically speaking, it is truly demented. Certainly one of the strangest theories I’ve seen promoted on this site.

  • Bemused

At least you can say the One is prescient. He did describe himself as Icarus. We can be gracious and give him that much, he knew he was bound to lose his fake wings and fall.

I had to leave the blog world for a while, for real work. Nice to see the old gang still full of spirit. Way to go, Carol Haka!

  • Ferd Berfle

Look, boob. You admittedly bogart the Kool-Aide, which means anything you say was and is made in what amounts to no more than a sodden stupor. No one here listens to fools, especially drunken ones.

  • Prime Obot

Like I said above, Fred, a pile of ad hominum insults amount to nothing to any gathering older than, say, 18. They certainly don’t effect me in any way. So why do you continue? Are you really just performing for your audience of NQers? Showing off how harshly you can insult any Obama supporter? And are you really not capable of responding to my point in any genuine way?

Put another way: are you willing to defend the assertion that Hillary Clinton would ever consider choosing Sarah Palin as her running mate, or not? Or are you basically not willing to discuss anything with me in any way, but simply want to insult me anytime I dare post?

And if that is so, then the rest of you should be asking yourself what exactly this site is supposed to be about.

  • Prime Obot

    Who? Not me. I’m new.

Yes INDEPENDENT THIRD PARTY is the only Hope and true Change! Teleprompter had promised Single-Payer/Healthcare! He reversed all his Campaign promises except one–the unwinnable futile War in Af-Pak.
He is paying hte Paki army $2 billion a month to “rent” it. He created 3 million refugees and 1500 civilians and crippled kids dead.

How’s that “Color of Change” boycott of Beck going? LMFAO!
I guess Beck had the bigger microphone after all.
Obama’s surrogate group of thugs decided to apply Alinsky’s rule #13 to the wrong person. What a shame.
What a coincidence that Van Jones held all of the same exact radical and bigoted beliefs that Rev Wright held.

  • apishapa

Obama is not a “leftist”. The political left is generally associated with liberals. He is not a liberal.

Liberal support single payer health care and nothing less. Obama does not. He is wrioting his reform to mandate middle class American buy insurance from his friends, and not guaranteeing any level of Health care. He is taking a classical RIGTH stance of Healthcare. THat is why he is losing popularity. Not becvause he is too far Left onthat issue.

Liberals believe in civil rights for all Americans. Obama has continued the assualt on the Bill of Rights begun by Bush. Warrantless wiretapping continues. Gays will not obtain the right to marry through Pbama. And you know it. Obama is much closer to the right on civil rights.

Liberals do not believe in fighting unnecessary and immoral wars. Theat is the purview of the right. Obama starteed bombing Pakistan his first week in office. Obama is increasing the presence in Afghanistan. He is not a purveyer of peace.

Liberals do not believe in protecting the interests of the few above the needs of the many. That is a Republican value. Obama has again and again taken from the poor and middle class to save the corporatists. Liberals do not do that. I do not like Obama one bit. I never, ever believed a word he said and he is proving me correct. He is not a liberal and I object to anyone trying to lay him on our doorstep. He is as “rightist” as Bush.

  • apishapa

As for Van Jones. I consider Van Jones much less offensive than many of both Bush’s and Obama’s appointees. I mean I am much more upset about hiring thjose who destroyed our economy to run the Treasury.I am more concerned about him allowing Insruancve and Pharma to write our “Health Care ” reform.

I call the Republicans much worse that “communists” all the time. And excuse me but, Kit Bond for God’s sake is calling someone repougnant? From Connonfire “And what about Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond, the guy who called Jones “radical and repugnant”? Bond is the fellow who, when asked whether waterboarding constituted torture, replied: “It’s like swimming, freestyle, backstroke.”" Who is more repugnant?

And as a matter of fact also via Connonfire:

The actual petition that Van Jones signed makes no reference to any of that “bombs in the building” nonsense. In fact, it asks a lot of questions which I consider fair (especially when we consider the petition’s date):
Why were the extensive missile batteries and air defenses reportedly deployed around the Pentagon not activated during the attack?

Why did the Secret Service allow Bush to complete his elementary school visit, apparently unconcerned about his safety or that of the schoolchildren?

Why hasn’t a single person been fired, penalized, or reprimanded for the gross incompetence we witnessed that day?

Why haven’t authorities in the U.S. and abroad published the results of multiple investigations into trading that strongly suggested foreknowledge of specific details of the 9/11 attacks, resulting in tens of millions of dollars of traceable gains?

What happened to the over 20 documented warnings given our government by 14 foreign intelligence agencies or heads of state?

Why did the Bush administration cover up the fact that the head of the Pakistani intelligence agency was in Washington the week of 9/11 and reportedly had $100,000 wired to Mohamed Atta, considered the ringleader of the hijackers?

I applaud Van Jones for asking those questions.

BVan Jones is not the first person to question the government’s behavior pre and post 9/11. I’ve read a lot of that right here in fact.

Van Jones is a radical. But please remember that Bush had some much more dangerous radicals on his payroll. “Rumsfeld? Cheney? Gonzales? Black-fucking-water? And Oabma has kept a lot of really dangerous people left over frm Bush. Like I say, he is not a liberal.

Van Jones is founder of Green for All. Of course Republicans hate him. Of course if you go visit those “leftist” sites (think Orange) it’s all Clinton’s fault anyway.

  • Lou Filliger

OK, try this. I’m ultra-conservative, I was more afraid of Hillary’s ability to push through socialistic healthcare than I was of Obama’s, so I supported Obama from the very beginning. I knew we had to put up with 4 years of a socialist, errrr, I mean Democrat in the White House, so I worked for as ineffectual a one as possible to win the prize. Can you hear me now?
