The Race Card Jar Overfloweth

Obama has wasted no time whatsoever making this election about race. At a recent fundraiser in Jacksonville, Florida Obama stated that the Republicans are going to try to scare voters away from him by mentioning that he is black.

Obama at Florida fund-raiser says GOP will go after him because he is black.

We know what kind of campaign they’re going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?”

This patently offensive claim demonstrates exactly what we should expect from the Obama campaign and the Democratic party for the next several months. Tragically, it wasn’t always like this. Obama began his quest for the presidency wearing the mantle of the post racial candidate. He was supposed to be someone whose candidacy transcended the hate of the past.

But that was before Obama and his minions discovered how beneficial it was for him to become the racial candidate. After all, if Obama can make it seem as if people aren’t supporting him because of his race then “white guilt” will take over and people will vote for him out of common decency. Talk about your hoodwinking.

And the Washington Post aka The Obama Shiller weighed in supporting their candidate’s position.

3 in 10 Americans Admit to Race Bias

As Sen. Barack Obama opens his campaign as the first African American on a major party presidential ticket, nearly half of all Americans say race relations in the country are in bad shape and three in 10 acknowledge feelings of racial prejudice, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

And wouldn’t ya know it, the poll informs us that blacks feel that racial relations in the country are worse than before, now that Obama is the presumed candidate.

More than six in 10 African Americans now rate race relations as “not so good” or “poor,” while 53 percent of whites hold more positive views. Opinions are also divided along racial lines, though less so, on whether blacks face discrimination. There is more similarity on feelings of personal racial prejudice: Thirty percent of whites and 34 percent of blacks admit such sentiments.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I smell bullshit. Or is that donkeyshit? I agree that racial relations in this country have worsened. What they leave out is the fact that they have only begun getting worse since Obama began his campaign of race baiting. And the statistics, while troubling, really matter very little when it comes to explaining why Obama isn’t gaining traction.

The Demonization Begins

Most people couldn’t care less about your name and your color, Senator Obama. They fear being lead by you because you have no substantive legislative record, you’re a chronic liar and, after explicitly stating that you choose your friends carefully, you have repeatedly and systematically made friends with people who hate this country.

This is the real reason so many people are opposed to Obama. But that doesn’t get attention in the press. It isn’t sensational and it doesn’t divide us. So that isn’t the message Obama tries to sell.

Way back in 2000, George W. Bush used racist claims about McCain to smear him. It’s more than a little ironic that the supposed agent of the new politics of hope resorts to these same tired, divisive politics to smear McCain too. But that is what we have come to expect from Obama. Words, just words.

The problem with those words is that Obama’s constant claims of racism only make the word itself meaningless. And thus when real racism occurs it is ignored or overlooked. Damn tragic if you ask me.

  • AMERICAN SAWBUCK

1st. It appears after all these months the only person playing the race card is barry. The sad part of it is that people are falling for it with “white” guilt .He just doesn’t get touched he is teflon.

    • s. hall

american sawbuck — the American people are sick of Obama the victim. We have enough problems to deal with without Obama’s perpetual moaning. He doesn’t give a damn about the rest of us however, we should all worry 24/7 about him. His statement the other day I don’t need voters I need checks says it all. I don’t care whether Obama is green with pink stripes–its not the color of his skin its the content of his character that turns me off.

      • wac for hillary

I agree completely. What is sad is that Obama has set back race relations with his cynical ploy and that some AA’s can’t see that he doesn’t care one iota about their rights and well-being. The prime example of this is buying his mansion with the help of a man who owned tenements in Obama’s own district. What a guy!

    • hats

A noble man will stand on his own merits proudly.

Sadly, this Pied Piper cries afoul when his modus operandi is exposed, and not all follow suit. Noble he is NOT. The kid that cried wolf too many times.

      Fools will be fools.

    • BernieO

And this was planned from the start. Saint Obama and Axelrod have too long a history of cynical opportunistic political moves to buy the idea that they only discovered the race card’s power during the primaries.

    • JoseyJ

Of course there’s racial bias – 95% of Blacks support Obama.
Even Kerry said to vote for Obama because he’s a Black man.

Actually, I’d prefer Denzel – if race is the only criteria.

      • wac for hillary

        I’d actually prefer Tavis Smiley.

    • Dawnelle

it’s scary and sad! I’ve just read that some fool in FLA just put up a semi sized confederate flag that has neighbors mad but they won’t lower it!

And on my regular “bumpersticker” tour (as I run errands) I am NOW seeing confederate flags on vehicles more than I’m seeing candidates bumper stickers!

I RARELY ever saw one of those nasty flags unless we drove through SC (honestly) Asheville is NOT Greenville. OR it didn’t USED to be.

      argh :-(

    • http://dakiniland.wordpress.com/ Dakinikat

Hi, I have a weird question or comment or something for yall to discuss. I was just doing research for my morning blog post and came across this at the BBC:

“Barack Obama’s cousin Raila Odingo (a radical Muslim African Arab) planned and executed the ‘ethnic cleansing’ of Kenya’s Rift Valley.”

Which leads me to a question: If Obama is supposedly a Black American, why is Odingo, his cousin doing ethnic cleansing on native Africans? This only makes sense if Odingo is ethnically an Arab which would implies that Obama isn’t actually a Black American but an Arab American. I frankly don’t care what his ethnicity because I’ve had it with identity politics, but it brings up a larger question of why Obama would pose as an African American if he’s an Arab American. This just seems completely odd to me. This also leads me to question how he can play the race card and do black americans know this? I mean I’d read some where his family had been in the slave trade which would tie into this but it seems odd that black americans wouldn’t pick up on this.

      • ritamary

The Obamas are Luos. The political party in power in Kenya are Kikuyus. Ethnic cleansing took place after the recent election on the part of both groups. (The recent election in which Barack Obama campaigned for Raila Odinga and sent Dick Morris to Kenya to advise the Odinga campaign).

Luos were forced out of Kikuyu areas where they had lived for many years and the same thing happened to Kikuyus living in Luo areas. It is called tribalism.

Isn’t it ironic that Michelle Obama hates Bill Clinton because he, in her opinion, allowed the genocide in Rwanda to happen? Couldn’t it be charged that her husband’s direct meddling in the Kenya election makes Obama responsible for the ethnic cleansing that took place afterwards? The hypocrisy reeks but is standard operating procedure for the Obama crowd.

        • wac for hillary

Thanks for the info; I didn’t know all of that.

        • Michelle

Female Barry is such an idiot. Susan Rice and Zbig Brezinski were instrumental in advising Bill Clinton to ignore the Rwanda genocide. Guess who they are advising now?

  • beebop

I have watched his new “I am American and so can you” ad three times. I don’t see one non-white face in it except for the picture of his organizing in Chicago. I would say that the intent is pretty clear. I wonder how AA audiences see it. Would be interesting …

    • Mary

Yes. And he implies his values are actually based on his “midwestern Kansas” white grandparents.

      He never lived in Kansas.

His values are exemplified in his own CHOICES, and that means 20 years in Wright’s church and Chicago machine politics.

Does he think Americans are stupid?

      • s. hall

mary — yes Obama thinks Americans are stupid–otherwise why would he be the nominee.

        • It’s Not Me

But WE THE PEOPLE didn’t choose Obamarrhoid to be our candidate…the DNC did. So, WE really aren’t stupid, the DC elites are.:)

          • GenXDem

How did the DNC “choose” Senator Obama?

Even had they given Hillary 100% it still wouldn’t have been enough. They were nice to give her any, or either candidate any for that matter, after the agreed upon rules were broken. What’s so hard for you people to understand about that??! It’s like a non-stop fucking epidsode of the Twilight Zone.

            • Northwest rain

You are just plain stupid — which means you have had too much of Obama koolaid

Stupid Gen X — do some research.

              Hillary wasn’t “given” anything –

              Hillary Clinton — WON — W O N —

She has the popular vote and she has won the electoral vote in the states necessary to WIN the General Election.

Barry — BOBO — lost all the major states. He can only win caucus states where he sent idiots like you to steal the votes.

Anyway — Barry Barky will LOSE — and thus he will join the ranks of other losers — Kerry, Gore, Dukakis etc. Dodd, Edwards etc.

YOU Gen X are a loser for supporting a lying, bull shit artist named Barry.

Even his name is made up — who knows what his real name is on his real birth certificate.

      • Obama is a bum

The majority of Americans are either stupid or insane, otherwise Obama would have been gone long ago.

    • GenXDem

yea, the moveon crowd would be loving them some “folk hero” hillary right now. LOL!!!

  • Obama is a bum

Obama is aware he can play the race card and get away with it. He has already been exposed – sitting in a racist black liberation theology church for 20 years, having announced Wright, Phleger, and Meeks as he 3 spiritual advisors, his own book with anti-white statements, and his wife’s thesis with racial rubbish.

None of Obama’s racist attitudes or his mentors have stuck. He is beating McCain and the MSM, blacks, and guilty whites still enthusiastically support him.

Obama is a slick Chicago politican. We saw how easily he switched on public funds because it was to his advantage to do so. He will throw anyone under the bus if he feels that will suit him – even if he praises them the day before and says he could never disown them.

  • Darryl

Bottom line is that no one running for president, should use a victim line to garner support. A President is going to need to have more resilence than that. Do the soldiers on the front line scream, “I’m not going in there, they hate me cause I’m American.” This shows his character. If he makes it into office, what excuses will he make on why he can’t accomplish things? What solutions will he come up with? I suggest, that when things really start to get tought, he will throw in the towel, just like he is doing now. Attributing his lack of fortitude to something that he can not control. So rather than working around it, he gives in and calls foul. Not a very good sign of leadership, and definately not something I look for in a President.

    • NY still loves Hillary

      I couldn’t agree more

    • Obama is a bum

I don’t see Obama coming up with any solutions all he does is criticize Bush and McCain. He has repeatedly said there are no good solutions in Iraq. If Obama does not have any good solutions then he needs to drop out.

I imagine if Obama gets elected he will continue to blame Bush when anything goes wrong.

      • NY still loves Hillary

I think his plan is to get a list of every non-supporter and blame one of us daily. Hell, he could probably blame one of us every hour and still have names left over at the end of a 4 year term…

      • wac for hillary

No, he’ll fall in line and blame either Bill or Hillary.

I agree – look at the Hillary crocodile tears during the election, or the I was a War Prisoner, vote for me ad of McCain.

What would we expect during difficult trade negotiations? Hillary bursting in to tears or McCain suffering some rage inspired by post traumatic stress disorder, where he calls his wife a c*nt again? Oh well that is why Obama will be President in January 09.

      • GenXDem

I agree, UK, or a president who instead of taking responsibility for his/her vote to authorize the invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation blames it on “faulty intelligence” and a crazed cowboy’s “good word” that my then 7 year old knew was bullshit??!!?? If they gave a bonafide madman their vote, makes me shiver to think what diabolical thing they’d do in the driver’s seat.

  • Darryl

Oh, and by the way, doesn’t he sound just a wee bit like his spiritual mentor Rev. Wright.

  • Caya

When the Wright video first appeared, I thought Obama should have come out and said Racism is wrong – no matter who is doing it. Instead he tried to justify it by giving examples of white racism. WTF? This to me is not the action of a man who wants to improve race relations.

As a side note, my Mother-in-law is a Bajan New Yorker and said at the time that Black America should stop representing itself publicly through all these religious figures.
“There was a time when the only leadership roles for Black people were through Church and Religion, this is no longer the case. They should be representing themselves as equally able Americans.”

    • Obama is a bum

I was disappointed in Obama’s explanations of his knowledge of the Wright rantings once it broke. He kept tripping over himself. The speech was worse, I expected an explanation of why he joined a black liberation theology church, exactly what he heard and why he did not oppose it, an apology, and him dropping out of the race. Instead he blamed everyone else while he hovered above it all.

  • secularhumanizinevoluter

Well apparently DEMOCRATS are stupid, because this pathetically inept pile of shit is to all appearances gonna be the nominee. Won’t it be a Bizzaro world turn of events when the DEMOCRATS will run all of the race adds and the repugnantklan will run all the adds talking about issues and characters?!? I guess if you live long enough you’ll see everything!!!

    • Dawnelle

      no doubt!

      it’s bizzaro world

    • nickoury

Bizzaro world. Yes, that explains it all. Thanks.

What did MO mean by “the AA community will wake up”?

They are the bigots. They played the race card on the Clinton’s immediately. The Clinton’s are not racists – the Obama camp is.

F*ck them. Get them out of here.

    • Obama is a bum

I was surprised how the Democratics knocked the Clintons and kept on jumping over endorsing Obama. After Wright, Ayers, Meeks, and Phlefer fell out of Obama’s closet they had good reasons to dump Obama. I was told numerous times that they did not want to upset the black base. Anyone outside the black base is expected to just fall in line.

      • It’s Not Me

Al Sharpton threatened to take his Minions to the streets of Denver in August if Obamarrhoid wasn’t anointed as the Dem nominee. The DC elites fell for it…… Freakin’ spineless cowards that they are.

  • hootnannie

Obama can play the race card and get away with it as far as the MSM go, but the vast majority of the American people cannot be manipulated with it. Anyone who feels so guilty about his/her own racist feelings or who feels sorry for BO is already in his sway. It just shows how desperate he has become that he is already trying to pander with it, saying to voters that the GOP will tell them he is black–something they can clearly see, along with the fact that he trucks with white-hating race-baiters and anti-American terrorists. And he has certainly made race relations worse. You can listen to the call-in shows and hear the animosity on both sides. I, as a white, am irked by black callers who declare that he will surely win because “it’s our time”. Their assurance sometimes sounds like a threat. And just how is he supposed to win if about 1/3 of Americans have reservations about race–and that’s the ones who would admit it! Believe me, these people cannot be “guilted” into voting for BO simply because he’s black!

  • LarryBlowsGoats

Obama is absolutely right. The wingnuts are already gearing up to run Muslim smear ads against him, and FOX News is busy painting Michelle Obama as a terrorist because of a fist bump. That’s because they, like Larry and his team of PUMA Loser All-Stars, have nothing on Obama.

The guy you swear can’t win an election has already handily dispatched the once-fabled Clinton machine, and now he’s on to a 40+ state victory in November. It will be such a joyous occasion, and I will celebrate by revisiting this site and rubbing all of your noses in your abject stupidity.

He didn’t dispatch her. She had about equal pledged delegates. And since when is an election about “taking out the clintons”. You are so full of hate, that you ooze it from your very being. You aren’t voting for Obama, you are voting against Hillary. You didn’t give one good reason WHY you hate the clintons so much. YOU JUST HATE.

      • Mary

        Doesn’t matter.

Obama won’t win November based on hating the Clintons.

He’ll have to stand on his own merit, and win her voters on his stands on issues, not on hate.

His supporters haven’t figured that out yet.

        • Darryl

Exactly, and I hate to say this, but Hillary needs to get out of there and let him sink. She is playing the “fool’s advocate”. He is using her as a reminder to all his supporters that this elections was about their hate for Hillary. Everytime she shows her face at a rally, they will boo her, I promise you. This speech that they are giving this week, watch it. I bet you a million dollars that you will hear boos when she gets up to speak. Why anyone would subject themselves to that, is beyond me.

          • Mary

Every boo from Obama’s audience drives another Democrat or Independent to McCain.

      • Bonita

        LMAO!

    • Rob in Chicago

Like every other Obama achievement, he secured the nomination through the “Chicago way”, by gaming the system, playing the race card, having the DNC and the media manipulating the rules and the “topography” of the primary season (and watching his “six”.) Without the media at his back and the DNC actively bending (breaking) and manipulating the rules, he would have been one of the first candidates knocked out of the race. Obama rose through the system of Chicago politics, and that alone is sufficient reason to vote for someone else. You just don’t get where he has gone in Chicago politics by being a Boy Scout. Even the most diligent ward worker can only rise so far in the “Combine” through that kind of hard work. Like the mob, you must earn your bones. Obama is a “made man” in Chicago politics, and many of his supporters just don’t understand what that entails. His supporters and his lap dogs in the press continue to advance the lie that the Rezko trial had nothing to do with Obama, and though he was “mentioned” during the trial, that he was not connected with any wrongdoing. That is 100% unadorned BULLSHIT. The Rezko trial was based on the “pay to play” rules of the “combine”, and Governor Blagojevich used Obama’s State Senate position to advance the new law necessary to stack the various board with Rezko’s pals who would assure that anyone wanting to do business with the State of Illinois would have to come before one of these boards and make substantial payoffs to secure board approvals of their projects. While Blagojevich may be in jeopardy as a result of the shennanigans on those boards, the boards could not have been stacked with Rezko’s lackies without Obama’s help and full participation and cooperation.

What is it about: Obama has nothing to offer, that you do not understand?

    • beebop

Your ranting would be so much more meaningful if you would add substance like:

Americans will support him because he defends defeating FISA and supporting their rights to privacy.

Americans will support him because he believes that the best way to ensure that Americans get back to work is to keep jobs in America. That means revisitng NAFTA and making changes that work for AMERICANS.

Americans will support him because he believes that the best way to change the broken electoral system in this country is not to desert it but to work from within its shattered system and point out its defincies.

He instead has DESERTED each of these positions that roped liberals, kids and elites into voting for him and clearing the field of the TRUE DEMOCRAT in the race. He is a FRAUD, a PHONEY, a THROW BACK to the WORST of the old machine with the twist the new CHICAGO STYLE OF TAKE NO PRISONERS style. You, he, and all of the people who support him deserve the THRASHING that you will see in November. The only ones profitting here are the MEDIA and AXELROD who will take every last DIME of the money being lavished on this WALKING FANTASY of CONTRADICTIONS and LIES to try to FOIST him on the AMERICAN ELECTORATE. Well. WE GET IT. And we aren’t buying.

Now. Crawl back to your parent’s basement and make sure it is nice and secure. It is going to be a bumpy election season and NOTHING is off limits. Barck started this.

Obama must be really proud for the first time in his adult life of the way he has used the race card to “guilt trap’ white folks.

Obama has with his campaign painted the Clintons as racist when the whole world knows they are not.

If Obama had been a white man belonging to a racists church for 20 years, was friends with a known terrorists, and anti americans..

he would have never been elected to the state senate, let alone the Us senate.

    http://edgeoforever.wordpress.com/2008/06/18/trashing-clinton-the-b0-official-campaign-strategy/
The media was executing the memo point by point – then the campaign was echoing the media – the perfect Wurlitzer!
In NYC, we call what he did to the Clintons “Sharptonizing”
And for those who think it’s just campaigning stuff, his silence when entire states were labeled “racist” speaks volumes. Gene Lyons nails this:
    “Many citizens who
would vote for an African American without a second thought are put off
by a candidate who makes race the central issue of his campaign. Winning
    tactic, losing strategy.

  • AMERICAN SAWBUCK

I fear that we here are the only people who see barry for the liar and horror he is. The press will not touch his racism or anything negative about him. He is now getting the womens’ vote from Hillary according to FOX this morning. He is definitely not being challenged by the Republicans and I am loosing hope of ever getting rid of him…It is so sad. Where are the republican 527′s (that are so famous)…when you really need them????

    • Darryl

They are waiting till October. Just like they did in the last election.

      • Darryl

Don’t be fooled by the press. They do this every election. They seem to be in the tank for the Liberals, then do a 180 right before the election. Happens EVERY election. Although, this election, the Presumtive Nominee is in my opinion NOT a democrat at all. He has reversed almost every role now, taking side with Republicans. NAFTA, Amnesty for the Telecom. industry, Not pulling the troops out. Have you notice the pattern here. Seems to me, he is slowly turning into a Republican.

    • audacity

to use the 527, costs money

BO is free advertising with his gaffe on a daily basis. they r waiting for the right moment. till then BO does a good job against himself.

      • NY still loves Hillary

At the rate Obama’s going, the GOP should be able to save some serious cash this year.

American Sawbuck – don’t pay attention to the Obamatots. They’re never going to change, even after he loses. Watch the rest of America. Their reactions to the man behind the clear shower curtain are not good. The MSM can say what they want; when it comes to the privacy of the voting booth I am confident that this man scares far more people than he inspires.

    • Obama is a bum

I see McCain as a punching bag. Obama hammers him and McCain says he respects Obama and Obama does not share Wright’s views. McCain will not win the election with that approach, he continues to drop in the polls. People apparently are not voting for McCain because he is a nice guy.

      • NY still loves Hillary

The polls are being controlled by the same folks that brought us the primaries. Ignore them and continue to spread the word the old fashioned way: tell everyone you meet what a threat this poser is to this great nation. Besides, when the time is right, the Republican party will come out against Obama in droves, regardless of how they feel about McCain. Don’t forget, they’d already planned on not getting their candidate so they’re not going to be talking too much until the time is right.

To speak before August is to elect Clinton.

  • PragmatismRules

Interesting news! A NYT article shows GE’s stock is down (lowest in four years)and they were saying it may be b/c of NBC’s news going Left–or rather becoming the obambi channel. this GE stock-drop story (in the tank for/by/and because of Obama) along with details about WHY (i.e., PUMA, other group boycotts)ld be a great blog comment lead story; since nbc is an olympic sponsor, it is important to leverage this and make them stop kissing and start cleaning pampers’ ass ! At a minimum, they need to muzzle olberman, fire tweety, and start being morem fair and balanced like (I almost hate to say it) FOX NEWS!

    • Darryl

I had no idea GE was part of NBC. Thanks, I will never buy another thing from that company.

      • beebop

Take a look at their holdings at Wikipedia.org. They are mostly a media company. NBC and MSNBC. It is shocking how much of a sway on public opinion they actually do control.

        • hats

Yes they have swayed me FAR FAR AWAY from Oblah-blah.

            Oblah-blah – I like that one! LMAO

  • steveeboy

of course you lovely people here that make comments like “DNC=democratic negro committee” aren’t racist at all.

And, you have NEVER tried to claim that HRC got attacked just ’cause she had a vagina…

    • Darryl

No, just cause she was Hillary. Funny, out of all the comments, you are the one who claimed right to her vagina.

      • Darryl

Man, you trolls are all the same. You can’t argue the points, so you just insult. This is cause you have no points. Go BACK to school and learn debate.

        • Mary

I think he gets off on typing the word “vagina.”

Why can’t we get better trolls?

    • NY still loves Hillary

If the comment “DNC=democratic negro committee” was made on NQ, it was made by a troll. Sorry, Steve-o, not flying here.

Not really sure what your 2nd “point” is about; we don’t talk about genitalia here either. But if you were trying to point out that Senator Clinton faced massive discrimination because she is female – glad you’re willing to admit it. Now the real question is, what is your candidate going to do about it?

      • GenXDem

I guess expecting Hillary to speak out against one out of five of her voters in some states saying in exit polls they’d NEVER VOTE for a black person is another instance of misogyny in the MSM, huh? And probably, when a few made a fuss about that little slip of the tongue to the AP when she said ONLY she could get the “working Americans…white working Americans” was another example of the patriarchs trying to subvert her as a woman, huh? Can YOU imagine had Obama said that about blacks to an AP reporter??!!!? Nope, you sure the fuck can’t.

    • Carol

I’m sure it was one of the Obama supporters that planted the DNC remark so they can try and paint us as bigots.

News Flash – we don’t care what color he is.

He is unacceptable at any color!

In other words same old asses – bray bray.

  • blueasthesky

Tragically, it wasn’t always like this. Obama began his quest for the presidency wearing the mantle of the post racial candidate. He was supposed to be someone whose candidacy transcended the hate of the past.

Even this “post-racial” stuff that he was trotting out earlier was a racial appeal. Only a black man could be the post-racial candidate: vote for me, he seems to be saying, and we’ll put an end to these racial divisions. A white candidate couldn’t say that. So this is really a variation of “vote for me because I’m black.”

    • Obama is a bum

      Agreed.

    • NY still loves Hillary

      Good point

  • eleana

Sen. John Kerry says among other reasons he’s supporting Sen. Barack Obama is his belief that “it would be such an affirmation of who we say we are as a people. if we could elect an African-American president, young leader, who is obviously visionary about the ability to inspire people.”
Kerry said that a President Obama would help the US in relations with Muslim countries. Kerry was asked what gives Obama that credibility.
“Because he’s African-American. Because he’s a black man. Who has come from a place of oppression and repression through the years in our own country.”

His paternal great-great grandmother was black, possibly a slave. His actual ancestors were Arab slave traders who made a living selling Kenyan blacks to the Arabs up north. No wonder the Muslims love him. As for Obama coming from a place of oppression and repression…it doesn’t dignify a response..

    • Obama is a bum

There goes Kerry with the race card – vote for Obama because he is black. What it would say about American people is we are a bunch of idiots because we vote on color not qualifications or character.

Has anyone come out and said Ferraro was right?

      • beebop

Actually, Geraldine was just quoting the comments on Barry’s senate page.

        http://obama.senate.gov/news/050626-when_it_comes

I will draw your attention to just a couple of the sentences you will find there:

“Obama acknowledges, with no small irony, that he benefits from his race.

If he were white, he once bluntly noted, he would simply be one of nine freshmen senators, almost certainly without a multimillion-dollar book deal and a shred of celebrity. Or would he have been elected at all?”

    • typical irishman

If Obama shows who we are as a people as Kerry says, that means we are all anti american racists who hates people of all colors. We are self destructing. LOL. Self destructing identifies Kerry in his campaign.

    • hats

No one cares about his race(s).

      Just care about qualifications.

      Talk, talk. Inadeqaute resume.

  • C.S.

Obama, like Bush, can’t take criticism; but ridicule Obama, unlike Bush, and he backs off. Look how fast he divested himself of that fake Obama seal. There’s candidate Obama’s achilles heel.

As for race, the guy’s neither but then most of us are from the same melting pot of “neither”. He’s what “military brats” are – cosmopolitan; he was raised in a multi-racial ethnic culture in Hawaii, lived in a Muslim culture in Indonesia for 6-8 years (figures differ) and spent time with his Kenyan relatives on the African continent. Don’t recall him spending much time with his “white” Kansas relatives. That should have made him more tolerant but in his case, it seems to have worked the opposite and made him less tolerant of his “white half” and the voting population of the U. S he considers “white” or “female”.

    • Right On

Lovely. Since you can gain no traction arguing against Obama on issues or genuine political merits, you resort to ridicule. Your last stand. And you’ve found a lovely little cesspool of a community here that engages in absolutely nothing but ridicule, fear mongering, rumor mongering, and lying. All I see here is people patting themselves on the back for mocking and demonizing Barack. Pathetic, disgusting, and immoral.

        Well, didn’t I strike a nerve!

Wouldn’t it be uplifting if this was a real campaign and we could hear “the issues” debated by the two guys destined to be in charge of OUR executive branch of government? But Barack Obama refuses to meet John McCain in the Debate Arena after finishing off his opponent in a rigged fight. Checked your own cesspool lately?

  • typical irishman

Obama is trapped by his own tactics. Now that he can’t whimper and whine about the Clintons being racist he has to find a new offender–and that offender is himself. Obama’s strategy from the beginning was to use race against Clinton. Now he has nothing to replace it. Must be hell organizing his entire campaign around race. A single issue isn’t much to campaign on, especially when people stop paying any attention to it.

    • NY still loves Hillary

      No, he had 2 issues:

I “Hope” you’ll think I’m black (not Arab)

I’ll “Change” my strategy if that doesn’t work

      • typical irishman

Yeah? Hope based on hate if we are to believe Obama’s preacher(s). I just wonder how long he shopped around to find them [the preachers]? “Hope” God damns America? “Hope” America’s chickens come home to roost? Even Farrakhan said “Obama is the “HOPE” of the world”. All their Obama “hope” based on hatred. McCain is a better choice.

I am so beyond frustrated at this point. On my way to work this morning I had CNN on for about 30 seconds only to hear Candy Crowley say that there in no basis to “women not voting for Obama because the numbers say differently”…that doesn’t sound true to me.
Than I listened to Gayle King go on about how her son was treated badly in a store and it could only be racism, and it’s all part of the whole Obama experience and what it’s bringing out in this country. How in the world do Obama and his supporters get away with this continuation of racism charges ?!?!?! WHY can’t we be against Obama because he’s just NOT qualified ???
I’m just so discouraged by this entire thing. I am not a racist, I was not brought up to think or feel that way, and it feels like this man and his supporters have taken this country so far back it’s scaring me.

    • Right On

      1) If you venture out of Larry World, you will be shocked to see that the vast majority of Americans do not share your dementia. If that bothers you, stick to this toilet of a website. 2) You may not be a racist, but you have aligned yourself with smear-merchants who have, for months and months, been trying to goad Barack into addressing race-based fears (and, generally, fears of “the other”). Barack has to fight back, even though you Larry-heads will cynically twist any defensiveness on his part as “race-baiting.” You cannot show me one single example of Barack bringing up race apropos of nothing (no, analyzing it historically/politically in a book doesn’t count — I’m talking about using it in this campaign).

You may not be a racist, but you and your hate-filled ilk are responsible for any backward movement you perceive in this country. You can take some consolation, however, in the knowledge that, as president, Barack will provide healing leadership.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

        Who goaded? Ridiculous.

        • Right On

Head dress photos and the like (which you people still love to bring up), Bill’s Jesse Jackson comments and the like (which you people like to pretend were incidental and unconscious, even though Bill’s a masterful politician), and, for God’s sake, have you no shame about the gross double standards and cultural ignorances you display when you, day after day, harp on your pathetic guilt-by-association attacks?

You’re pissed Hillary lost. I get that. But you’ve lost all perspective when you succumb to the most vile instincts in politics with hopes of bringing this talented leader down. And here in Larry World (and other sewage sites) you’ve assembled a coalition that is the lowest of the low. But that’s expediency for you. If embracing Fox News, Larry Sinclair, and Karl Rove are what it takes to avenge your loss, you’re enthusiastically on board!

How come I never see you at MyDD anymore, Annin? I suppose you’re one of those Taylor Marsh haters now? I remember you some months ago boldly proclaiming how Hillary would trounce Barack, and ridiculing anyone who thought differently. Maybe it’s time for you to realize your judgment ain’t all that. Maybe it’s time to realize that everyone you now vilify might just not be insane. Maybe it’s you. But as long as you surround yourself with this trashy network of friends who love to pat you on the back for each new smear you’ll have trouble finding the light of day again.

1)”If Obama didn’t want to be compared to Jesse Jackson, maybe he shouldn’t have put R&B in his SC advertisements, shouldn’t have sent black-only emissaries to the Black SC community, and should have put Wright, who was doing the rounds, on pause. The message in South Carolina put out by Obama’s campaign, whether the media wanted to ignore it or not, was “Vote for me I am Black.” To then come back and smash Bill Clinton for mentioning Jesse Jackson, that’s audacity; Axelrod made this clear through his surrogates, while he had Obama say that what the Clintons’ said was “unfortunate.”

The Clinton campaignhas said that the former president was referring to Obama’s position on the Iraq. And indeed, Clinton made his remarks in the context of discussing criticism of the war.
“It is wrong that Senator Obama got to go through 15 debates trumpeting his superior judgment and how he had been against the war in every year,” said Clinton, “and never got asked one time, not once, ‘Well, how could you say, that when you said in 2004 you didn’t know how you would have voted on the resolution? You said in 2004 there was no difference between you and George Bush on the war and you took that speech you’re now running on off your website in 2004 and there’s no difference in your voting record and Hillary’s ever since?’ Give me a break.

I never have posted at MY DD.

I don’t believe the Muslim photo came from Hillary’s campaign. I think that rumor was debunked long ago. I never though that Bill Clinton’s remark about Jesse Jackson was particularly racist. He was doing the political thing of minimizing a loss. Obama IS a black candidate. So I was surprised by how sensitive Obama was over that. I didn’t see that as any more catty on Bill’s part than Obama’s famous “her claws come out.”

And he does have some very long-term odd relationships. What’s interesting is that he didn’t seem to think Wright would really be a problem. LOL* That shows incredibly poor judgment.

So….I think you might just be reacting to the same spirit that I reacted to early in the campaign where it was non-stop Hillary-bashing.

I never did that personally to Obama in the primary. I tried to point out his vagueness, his inconsistencies, his lack of substance, etc. But I didn’t bash non-stop. I was angry at at the Democrats who did it to Hillary without a shred of decency or apology.

So if it bothers you that he’s now bashed?

            Too bad.

Bill was talking (quite falsely) about Barack’s Iraq war stance. That had nothing to do with racism. Yes, among millions of supporters, some took it out of context. That’s hardly Barack’s crime.

oh and as far as barackula’s “war stance”

”But, I’m not privy to Senate intelligence reports,” Mr. Obama said. ”What would I have done? I don’t know. What I know is that from my vantage point the case was not mad

“So it’s not clear to me what differences we’ve had since I’ve been in the Senate. I think what people might point to is our different assessments of the war in Iraq, although I’m always careful to say that I was not in the Senate, so perhaps the reason I thought it was such a bad idea was that I didn’t have the benefit of U.S. intelligence. And, for those who did, it might have led to a different set of choices. So that might be something that sort of is obvious. But, again, we were in different circumstances at that time: I was running for the U.S. Senate, she had to take a vote, and casting votes is always a difficult test.” [The New Yorker, 10/30/06]
“Not only was the idea of an invasion increasingly popular, but on the merits I didn’t consider the case against war to be cut-and- dried.” ["Audacity of Hope," 2006, p. 294]

How about that recorded, propaganda speech he gave?

Memories aren’t supposed to be that short, we all heard it in Congressional oversight committees and under oath. Only a few of Bush’s favorites heard the intelligence information and they were sworn to secrecy.

But I can understand Obama’s reluctance to take a hard line against the Iraq Invasion after he was sworn in; those darn buttons are so hard to push and he so wanted to get it right that he copied the Senator in the next seat!

          • http://deleted AnninCa

Not so fast. The fairytale remark was definitely twisted out of context by Obama’s campaign and used explicitly to rouse the ire of AA voters in SC.

That was a big race card played by Obama.

        • Bonita

And what’s the difference between the McCain campaign saying he was playing “make believe” with the seal?

          • Darryl

Then how come he didn’t come out and defend her? The difference is that he didn’t call Obama a racist! DUH!

      • It’s Not Me

BULLSHIT. ONE PERSON and ONE PERSON ONLY is Responsible for the “backward” movement in race relations in this country and that one person is Barack Obama! When he figured out he needed to take the AA votes away from the Clintons HE played the race card in SC. Not Bill, NOT Hillary, but BARACK FUCKING OBAMA!

You cannot take Bill Clinton’s statement about BO’s Iraq War votes being a fairy tale and twist that into “racism” without it being a deliberate attempt to play the race card. Bill Clinton was talking about BO’s voting record on Iraq…PERIOD, END OF FUCKING SUBJECT!

We all read the Obama “memo” and all the suggestions on it for how to play the race card. Then you had Jesse Jackson Jr. in NH who started this shit….”Did Hillary cry for the Katrina victims?” When it was BILL FUCKING CLINTON who helped raise the FUCKING MONEY for Katrina victims!

Next we have Bill Clinton being asked about the “HISTORICAL BACKGROUND” of SC elections and THAT is when he mentioned Jesse Jackson’s win there. Of course then the BO campaign twisted THAT into another TOXIC race card issue! I watched the video of that interview in SC. Congressman Meeks was with Bill Clinton at the time and he himself repeated what was on the video! Bill Clinton was asked about the HISTORICAL BACKGROUND of SC elections…PERIOD. END OF FUCKING SUBJECT!

And let us not forget about the BULLSHIT RACE CARD that was played when Hillary opened her mouth about the Civil Rights Bill and said it couldn’t have passed without a President Johnson willing to pass it. OF COURSE the BO campaign had to play their DAILY FUCKING RACE CARD WHINING about MLK! Hillary has fought, longer than BO’s been alive, for Civil Rights and that’s the thanks she gets? You fucking bastards.

OH! Don’t forget about the Bobbie Kennedy assassination quote either! But since he is now pushing his “racist” grandmother’s roots to win back “the white vote”, you wonder how much he really knows about Kansas; is he aware that his ancestors migrated to the Kansas territory before it became a state in 1861 or why they call that period in history “Bleeding Kansas” or which side his ancestors supported. He seems to know as much, or more, (wrote a book) about those Obama relatives living in a foreign land than he does about the country he wants to be president of.

Obama supporters thought they knew everything about “the Clintons” and didn’t mind passing on what they heard without further inquiry but let something negative be said about Obama from the same sources they love to quote about the Clintons and pandemonium breaks out.

  • NObama in August

It just proves more and more his race-baiting. He couldn’t find anything so far to accuse them of being racist, so he has to say that their going to say something racist.

Also proves that what they did to the Clintons was appalling.

  • AngryWhitePerson

Willie Randolph of the Mets tried to play the race card this year. And guess what happened. He was unceremoniously fired. Why? Not because he was black (and when he said this, he pissed off many people and had to apologize to the owners.) Because he was a collassal failure.

Randolph, like Obama, managed like he was above it all. With his nose in the air, he refused to argue with umpires when it was necessary. He showed very little emotion or passion, but most importantly, made one boneheaded gaffe after another. His first year as mgr, his goal was to be a .500 team. That’s a goal???? In 2006, just his second year as mgr, he made many piss poor decisions that cost them getting to the World Series. Following year, he led a major market team to the biggest collapse in MLB history. This year, the Mets are in the basement, a comedy of errors before the All Star Break. He was rightfully let go, fans were screaming for his head since last autumn. No one gave a shit about skin tone, it was about winning the game and selling tickets to the new Mets stadium in 2009. He made the Mets an embarrassment to their own fans. There was no outrage over his loss. There was much rejoicing, in fact.

Obama is running for President of the United States with the same whining narcissistic attitude and a history of gaffes and mistakes that will lead OUR COUNTRY into the toilet. He is not better than a halfassed blundering baseball mgr who loses, he is far far worse.

Deflect. Reroute. Change the subject. If that doesn’t work, use the Race Card. It’s his pattern. He’s inept and has no other way. Franky, the more he does it, the better it is. By November4, the electorate will be so fed up with listening to his whining and pulling the race card, they will be tripping over each other to get to the polls and shut him and his surrogates up.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

That’s how I see it. He’s going to fire up the Republican base with these false accusations.

Nobody likes to be called a racist unfairly.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

He definitely made race the issue to detract from the fact that he was breaking his written pledge.

It’s not a strategy that would work with Republicans or with anyone who watched the primary and knew he pulled a fast one on the Clintons.

It will work for Obamba supporters to excuse his flip on this.

The editorials ate him alive on that decision, so it didn’t work with them.

Most people don’t particularly care about the campaign finance reform business, so it probably wasn’t that important.

As for the new poll, I agree that racial tensions have increased. I think the reason is clear. He’s made race his constant issue.

  • Zimeeisme

I recall something in one of Obama’s books talking about “white guilt” as a political ploy but I cannot recall where I saw it. Below is one quote from Dreams…not sure of the context since this is just an excerpt.

“Black politicians less gifted than Harold discovered what white politicians had known for a very long time; that race baiting could make up for a host of limitations.”

    • Mary

Touche. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

But in doing so, he raises tensions and sets back race relations for years.

      Fool.

But in doing so, he raises tensions and sets back race relations for years.

  • Right On

Tragically, it wasn’t always like this. Obama began his quest for the presidency wearing the mantle of the post racial candidate.

Totally disingenuous. Even though this is the best strategy you hate-mongers can come up with, it’s not going to work. You know damn well — if you’ve followed his career and writings with the seriousness that a future president deserves — that Barack is steeped in unifying sensibilities. So how do you fight back? Attack and smear, call him weak, and when he fights back, proclaim with faux outrage that his unifying instincts are just an act.

First of all, he didn’t start any race baiting. But, thank goodness, he’s willing to fight it — even though he knows jerks like you will try to use it against him. Second, one need look no further than this sewage-filled website to see endless smears involving non-existent “whitey” tapes, closet-Muslim charges, and endless guilt-by-association attacks — all of which (and much more) proves race-based attacks are indeed live and well. Thank goodness he’s strong enough to counter them head on. If he didn’t you’d call him weak. When he does, you call him hypocritical. It’s the best you can come up with.

What’s “tragic” is when his adversaries (such as you immoral Larry-heads) prefer to maliciously and cynically nuke genuine attempts at fostering a new kind of politics rather than fighting this campaign on real merits.

Still, what will happen: Now that Barack has won the nomination, he knows it’s his responsibility to win. So he will fight hard. And he will win. And then, because he is innately infused with a fresh outlook, he will gradually make inroads toward a new, less gridlocked politics. Yes, the progress will be slower than it could have been without your smear-based, slash-and-burn strategy. But, have no doubt, there will be progress.

    • Darryl

If thats true then why did HE preemtively pull out the race card. He is the one who did this. And yet you come on here and argue to us, that it is us. God, what crack are you on anyway!

      • Right On

Look, Darryl, we could perform archeology all day long, arguing who said what in reaction to what. And at the end of the day we still wouldn’t agree because we’d argue over what someone meant by a certain seminal phrase or word. Still two facts remain.

        1) The demonization of Obama is now, and has long been, in full swing — and that demonization relies primarily on exploiting our fear of “the other.” Race is a huge part of this, sometimes directly, sometimes indirectly. So when Obama makes the “I’m black” statement you people have jumped all over, he’s attempting to neutralize very real things. The only reason you can’t see it is that you’re single-mindedly dedicated to bringing him down. So, for you, anything goes.

        2) Your constant hate-filled smears here at Larry World are corrosive last-ditch efforts to change the course of this race because you have not been able to win on actual merits and issues. You launch slash-and-burn-anything-to-win missiles daily, and when Barack occasionally fights back you jump down his throat for not being enough of a unifier. You excuse your behavior simply because you don’t support him. But your tactics are destructive, dishonest, and immoral.

On your logic, Hillary should be held to account fpr the likes of Anne Coulter endorsing her. This is who you should care about – people like Emilys list

Message from Ellen R. Malcolm to EMILY’s List members

For months we have watched two extraordinary, history-making Democratic candidates battle it out for the presidential nomination. Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton competed in every state, unleashing a tidal wave of enthusiasm and support.

Hillary Clinton has honored all women with her historic campaign. She stood up against all odds and harsh criticism with courage, grace, and dignity. At every turn in this long journey she has filled me with tremendous pride.

And now that it is over, I wholeheartedly congratulate Barack Obama. What a triumph for our new leader! He has inspired millions of Americans and shown that he is more than ready to take on John McCain.

While women still face serious hurdles in reaching the highest levels of elected office, Hillary has laid to rest any doubts about whether a woman has what it takes to run for president. She showed Americans and the world that she has the strength, intelligence, determination, and passion to handle the enormous responsibilities of the presidency, including those of commander-in-chief. When the media predicted her doom, she never faltered. In every debate she was eloquent and persuasive. Her resilience under the harsh national spotlight will make it easier for every woman candidate who follows her.

Voters in every state and territory were drawn to Hillary’s message of progressive change, and they turned out in force, giving her almost 18 million votes — more than any presidential primary candidate in history. She emerges from this campaign an even more powerful national leader. And I know she will use that power to help Democrats, including Sen. Obama, win, and to make a profound difference on issues like health care reform, energy independence, and economic policy.

As I’ve spoken to EMILY’s List members, especially recently, I know we have experienced this primary from different perspectives. Those who supported Sen. Obama are tremendously exhilarated that he is our nominee. I respect your choice and congratulate you for being part of an historic campaign.

Those of us who have been wholehearted supporters of Sen. Clinton feel disappointment and sadness, even anger, that this opportunity to elect a fine candidate and the first woman president is passing us by. So many EMILY’s List members put their all into this campaign — money, yes, but also time and energy traveling to primary states, working phone banks, and canvassing precincts. My heart is with you, as I am working through my own emotional turmoil. I fervently believe that this anger and grief will subside, leaving me with a deep sense of pride at what Hillary has accomplished for women. But I have not yet reached that point in my journey, and I know many of you feel the same way.

EMILY’s List members, like all Democrats, are experiencing varying emotions — but we are unified in our determination to undo the damage created by George W. Bush and the Republicans. I am confident that our party will unify as well, and come together to take the White House in November. And, once again, EMILY’s List will unleash the political power of women to help Democrats win at every level in 2008 so we can begin to rebuild a progressive America.

The differences between Sens. Obama and McCain dwarf the nuanced policy differences between Obama and Clinton. We can never forget what John McCain stands for: continuation of the war in Iraq, minimal changes on health care, economic policy that rests on tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy, and a steadfast determination to overturn Roe vs. Wade. Electing John McCain is simply perpetuating the policies of George W. Bush. For the country’s sake, we cannot let that happen.

EMILY’s List has important work to do to help Democrats take back the White House — but to create the change our country so desperately needs, we must also build working progressive majorities in the states and in the Congress. EMILY’s List has endorsed more than two dozen strong women candidates for House, Senate, and governor, and dozens more running for state office. And we are executing our biggest WOMEN VOTE! project ever, to mobilize the women voters who will ensure victory for our candidates and Democrats up and down the ticket — from the state House to the White House.

As always, thank you for your support and your commitment to our country. Please continue to be an active and generous member of EMILY’s List as we work to unleash the power of women candidates and women voters to create change.

Let us join together to build a mighty political force that will win in November.

~”The demonization of Obama is now, and has long been, in full swing”~

Is that what you meant to say or did you mean the “demonization of Hillary Clinton by Obama…” because that’s what archeologists are going to find when they excavate this election.

Last night, I saw the first political ad for Obama. It ran on a CBS affiliate out of Miami. I’d heard it referenced here or on other anti-Obama sites. It’s clearly race-oriented – towards whites

This thing was really something nauseating. Man, they’ve been working overtime to turn him into something that Florida voters would like. It showed photos of him with his white relatives. It showed photos of him with very senior women. It talked about how he struggled with student loans. It listed legislation he’d supposedly been key in getting passed. It was a HUGE LIE.

Perhaps there’s a link to it on the Obama site. I’d go there to look but would feel as though I need a shower if I did so maybe someone here could put on a hazmat suit and see if it’s there? ;)

    http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com

To me, that’s OK. I don’t think Obama will overcome his handicap in FL, though. He may get close, but Crist will take Florida Republican.

  • SJ

White Americans are stupid because those that voted and ran after Obama caused him to be the nominee today and may cause him to be the president also.

When you have 97% of the AA community coming out to support Obama and making no bones about it, even if some of them thought he is the biggest idiot to hit the political scene they still made up their minds to give him their support and vote just for one reason he is AA and they want him to be President.

On the other hand the some white voters could not care less, they did not for one minute consider well lets support one of our own also, let hold the line because the other side is doing so for their candidate, instead they hounded, ridicule and pushed the best viable candidate a woman out of the race.

There was not unity, or solidarity behind Hillary so Obama can play the race card now all he wants because he knows the AA will not abandon him, they will come out and vote just to say “we did it, we have a black president, we are now in charge, we proved our point”

Some whites will say this does not matter, we help make this happen, it’s a turning point for America and all the other nonsense they can think up, white guilt, or whatever the fact is they deserted one of their own and the AA have no intention of doing so no matter how dumb Obama is.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Deserted one of their own? Sorry, but that remark is very racist.

      • Zimeeisme

Oh quit being so judgmental with your calling something someone says as “very racist”. Many AA Obama supporters say just that when some of them do not support Obama…they say they are deserting their own.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

Sorry….but this was a racist statement. Blatantly so.

          • Caya

            I totally agree with you.

          • vonay

Blacks voting at 98% for a black candidate is racists.

          • Darryl

yep it was a racist statement. It is very racist for 98% of the black vote to go to a black man. Very racist indeed.

            • Right On

The vast majority of blacks supported Hillary early on. Many switched to Barack when they found out how talented AND viable he was.

You’re helping spread a false meme when you equate pride and empowerment of an historically oppressed minority with racism. Any reasonable person will admit this is not remotely the same as a white refusing to vote for a black.

You know damn well the vast majority of black voters have had no trouble supporting white candidates. I also had no trouble with the women who supported Hillary because she’s female. A female president would bring new perspectives and help heal old wounds. Some of these voters, however, became irrational when they concluded that anyone who did not support Hillary was a misogynist.

I do not believe someone who doesn’t support Barack is racist. But most of you smear merchants here in Larry Land are only too happy to feed the fears of otherness. If it’s not racist per se, it’s certainly immoral.

              • destardi

If what you say is true, and it’s NOT, why is it being reported that Hillary and Bill’s reputation among blacks has been damaged?

If it’s all about how “intelligent and hopey changey” obama is, why is reflecting badly on the Clintons?

Because they were painted as RACIST!!!!

                God you are thickheaded.

              • http://deleted AnninCa

I never have seen the 90% as racism. I see race as the primary factor, obviously, but that’s different from racism.

So I’m in agreement with you on that one.

    • Caya

What a complicated statement you’ve made.

Yes, white folks didn’t rally around the white candidate like black folks did around the black candidate. Okay.
But the problem is that black folk and white folk both rallied around a total fraud.

Would it have been better if everyone was racially divided?

I think it would be better if the black folk had rallied around issues and not color (this statement is also true for the white folk who support based on race (either way)).

      • Right On

You may think he’s a fraud. That doesn’t make it true. Fact is, there are many many people who believe in Barack’s unique experiences, vision, and abilities. Many of these people are highly intelligent and well informed. They come from all walks of life.

Of course you can disagree. But you should ask yourself why your vehemence is so strong that you’re willing to associate with all these hate-mongers who will do anything to bring this man down. You’re not winning on the merits, so you resort to smears and stoking fears of “the other.”

        • It’s Not Me

Barack’s unique experiences, vision, and abilities

Like WHAT? Care to expound on that with FACTS?

        • Caya

i have always said that I believe in opinion and opposition. It is freedom. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and that includes you Right On.

I just don’t know what exactly you found so profound about Obama. I don’t see it. All I see is an opportunist.

Are we in phase I of a civil war?

Obama has lined up the left, the young and the AAs behind him and then there is the rest of the country who don’t see eye to eye with him. All this insistence of a movement/cult has very scary overtones. Obama’s unabashed use of thug and scare tactics is ominous.

As far as race-baiting, I am personally grateful that I’m no longer teaching music in a predominantly black inner city school, as I did for the past 20 years. It was hard enough fighting off parents and community members yelling charges of racism against faculty as a way to initiate what they hoped would be lucrative lawsuits against the district before the arrogant, divisive, hate-filled Obama campaign started. I can only imagine how tense the atmosphere must be now. Ironically, the few black teachers who possessed the necessary certifications would quit after just a few years on the job or they would transfer into low-student contact positions. FWIW, the longer charges of racism go on against non-black citizens the more likely it will become a huge backlash against the Brazilles’s, the Deans, the Sharptons of the world. It’s quickly turning into a matter of “if you’re convicted of the crime you might as well commit it.”

First let me say that not all blacks are lining up with obama. He has been racist against just about every race I can think of at this point. I myself rebmember the phrase “garlic noses” being brought up during the primary. I am an Italian. My husband is black. He also agrees that there that he and his camp are using racist tactics. This is exactly how civil wars are started. not to mention spiritual wars. This man is scary very scary. If he is put into the most powerful position in our country, at this time our country may never recover. The stakes are far to high. We have got to stop this now. The only way is to PAY OFF HILLARY’S DEBT BEFORE THE CONVENTION. The race card is all that Obama has going for himself, and he will use it throughout the remainder of the campaign to keep anyone from truly vetting him for fear of being called a racist. If God forbid he is elected he will continue to use it so that nothing will be his fault. The liberal media sure has bought into it which is depressing. Being a racist can get you fired whereas being a sexist is apparently no biggie at all.

IMO Obama has only one hope of winning this election. If he can paint McCain as Bush 3. Get the voters believing ANYTHING is better than McCain. When you look at this race it shows the deck is stacked big time Against Obama. In the last 40 years the Dems have won 3 times. Once with an incumbent. So in 40 years 2 Dems have been elected to the WH. While some of the Dem candidates have been to far left or just plain ole weak, they have been decent enough people. Obama is a very questionable character. Ties to riff raff. I wont list them we all know who they are. He is a huge question mark. Further more, let’s face it there are a lot of racists out there who simply will not vote for him because of his race. It would be VERY hard for the perfect black man to win the presidency. Obama is not THAT blackman. The Dems lose with decent candidates and they think Obama is the one to change that? I doubt it.

    • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

George W has the lowest approval rating of any President ever. And O’boy is doing no better than a statistical tie with a Republican.

O’boy is so bad, so wrong on the issues, such a manipulating flip flopper, so lacking in character and experience, that he would not even be able to beat George W himself.

O’boy can paint McCain as W Bush III, but O’boy cannot unpaint who he is. And that spells LOSER in Nov.

      • Disgusted

Agreed. So far it’s not working. My point was , even if Obama was a decent AA Dem candidate, which he isn’t, he would have a very hard time winning. When you throw in the baggage he carries it is almost impossible. The only shot he has if the voters believe that ANYTHING is better than McCain. Obama can not win. His only hope is that McCain loses.

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

    Is O’boy really a Christian?

Because it sounds like he is not familiar with Luke 6 “As ye sow, so shall ye reap”

Keep sowing that Race Card O’boy.

    • It’s Not Me

Black Liberation Theology = Christianity with a mean, hateful, anti-white twist. Their black Jesus would be proud, I’m just so sure.

White guilt? Guilty of what? I have never owned a slave, don’t know anyone who was a slave, my parents didn’t own slaves…I have never intentionally hurt anyone, I do not make inappropriate comments about anyone’s race or religion. I have always voted for the person who I believed would do the best for the country, I’m sure I made a few mistakes along the way. I will not vote for Obama, I do not trust him with our country. The democratic party shafted Hillary and for the life of me, I don’t know why. Nevertheless, John McCain will have my supprt, my donations and my vote. Sorry Obama, YOUR party said it didn’t need me and I dang sure don’t need you.

  • basil

What’s really galling about the race-baiting debacle is I’d bet 95% of the whites screaming about it have never spent 5 minutes living, working and interacting in AA areas and, if willing to work those high-traffic, high-stress, draining jobs, wouldn’t last ten minutes. Their hypocrisy is disgusting. Equally disgusting is the manipulation by some blacks of so-called ‘white guilt’ for their benefit.

The real tragedy, IMHO, is this. I taught, worked with and guided thousands of kids over the 20 years I spent in urban public schools in 4 different states. Yes, the job was hard, low-paid, frustrating, but it was also beautiful to bring out the talent and ability of the kids. That’s the only thing that made the job worth doing. Seeing the glow in their eyes after performing in a winter concert, a spring concert. There was no sense of race, it was just kids and adults learning and growing together.

Obammerroid has destroyed a lot of that innocence, whipping up a frenzy of paranoia, suspicion, loathing and hate by directly appealing to people’s baser instincts.

    Political Unity My A$$!!!!

Using color for an excuse to vote for such infidel as Obama should cause alarm for every American. Using Historic as another excuse is alarming…Does color really drive African Americans to vote for someone that has displayed hate for America?

I make this plea to any African American thinking of voting for Obama….You remember you are an American and what Obama does to America will have an ever lasting affect on all of us and not only on white people…

Personally I’m fed up to my ass with Obama trying to use Martin Luther King’s words..Martin Luther king would distance himself from Obama because it never was King’s intentions to divide but bring together..Obama has used his color to deceive people.

Martin Luther king would have been far away from people like Wright,Ayers,Farrakan,Rezko and other lying racist….

If people reseach information before voting the findings on Obama are anti-American….

Obama has lied on the Bush administration over the Iraq War but people fail to check things before accusing.Obana votes to fund the war……It was Clintion’s administration that connected Iraq and Bin laden and WMDs….It’s worth repeating there is an indictment in place obtained by the Clinton administration for Bin Laden and all terrorist involved…One reason the indictment was obtained is why Bush invaded Irag…WMD’s!

This link has been available sine 2002. The link is upated to show progress in Iraq…http://www.bible.ca/islam/welcome.htm

Over 400,000 kids have up-to-date immunizations.
School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war.
Over 1,500 schools have been renovated and rid of the weapons stored there so education can occur.
The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off-loaded from ships faster.
The country had its first 2 billion barrel export of oil in August.
Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water for the first time ever in Iraq.
The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war.
100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed, compared to 35% before the war.
Elections are taking place in every major city, and city councils are in place.
Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city.
Over 60,000 police are patrolling the streets.
Over 100,000 Iraqi civil defense police are securing the country.
Over 80,000 Iraqi soldiers are patrolling the streets side by side with US soldiers.
Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time ever.
Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs.
An interim constitution has been signed.
Girls are allowed to attend school.
Textbooks that don’t mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years.

    • ritamary

      That is pure nonsense.

  • SJ

Obama sat for 20years in a church that studied Black Theology, that pushed Black dominance, aided and abetted by a pastor that had nothing good to say about white people, and some call anyone that makes a statement that whites should of supported their own racists.

What the hell do some of you feel they were teaching people in that church? A church where Obama and his family attended regularly?

Yes he did hoodwink some stupid whites, who ignored what he was doing and listening to for years because he knows he needs the white votes to win, so naturally after he built his black base the next event would be to encourage white voters to believe he is not into black power, or that he does not follow the doctrine of black theology.

He only disowned Wright because the news came out as to what this church, his church was about, what Wright, Farakhan and his buddies are about, all what is going on here is pure political grandstanding to hook votes, votes needed to become President. It does not ensure that Obama has changed his mind about black theology, or has a different way of thinking , all he is doing is pandering to the whites for votes its a smoke screen.

All who wants to follow him and believe that Obama has the interest of all at heart its up to you, I cant blame the blacks for wanting a black president and coming out in mass to support him, to them that is their survival to put a black man in office, if white voters want to play fast and lose with this election, and pretend it does not matter to them who is in office, if Obama wins this GE and things don’t turn out as expected you will have no one else to blame but yourselves.

Maybe AA know how important it is to them to have a change and work hard to make that change, if some white voters feel it does not matter or its racist to say you should of supported your own, then when changes come don’t complain suck it up, live with it, hide behind your oh you cant say that nonsense, because if Obama becomes president and some of you feel nothing will change then you have another thought coming, because it will and it will also be too late to turn back time.

Its not me – wow great answers. The Obamabots are lost people. They have no intelligence, only the desire for power. They can’t stand it because we aren’t following their dictates. I hate Obama’s guts. I wouldn’t care if his own bus ran him over. Give me Sheila Jackson Lee any day. Now she is an African American I could vote for any day of the week. Give me Bill Cosby. There are many African Americans who are so far ahead of Obama in intelligence and their resume’s far outweigh anything Obama has to offer. He is an anti-American terrorist lover. He is an empty suit. All he can do is pretty speeches. He can’t debate because it shows how dumb he is. He can’t produce his own REAL birth certificate, his state senate records or anything else to back his claims up. Stupid is as Stuipid does Obamabots.

70% of Dems in the Primary. I have confidence that the wider electorate is somewhat more educated.

  • Andy Lewis

But that was before Obama and his minions discovered how beneficial it was for him to become the racial candidate.

If he’d done the math, he’d know it won’t be anywhere near as beneficial in the general. Since he didn’t do the math, he’ll find that out the hard way.

  • destardi

You know you’re wrong, because you’re not addressing the quotes/videos, questions people are giving you.

    You lose..give it up.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

Not all of us. This site has a variety of topics. That’s just one part of it. But..there are a lot of people concerned about what he is really about. That’s the fault of Obama. He avoids clear stances. He’s vague to a fault. He has no record to speak of. He’s evoked religious overtones to his campaign, thus evoking equally dramatic opposition. And he has changed positions so often on key topics that it’s clear that what he says today won’t be what he means tomorrow.

He has set up this problem, in short.

  • Darryl

What? I say we don’t talk about race at all. I say we talk about him switching positions, thats all I’m saying. And if you question my logic, please, by all means, disect what I said as illogical. Please point to the non-pattern here.

  • Darryl

I am very comfortable thanks for your concern.

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

Wright On, You are the sounding one sounding uncomfortable.

It’s hard facing the truth about someone who betrayed you now isn’t it?

  • ritamary

I am very comfortable on the site. You “Right On” are not addressing some graduate seminar in philosophy. Save all that academic drivel for the classroom. This is real life.

I personally do not agree with everything I read on this site. But there is much excellent solid information here. I use discretion and my own personal judgment in regard to anything I read. I don’t turn my brain over to some opportunistic politician to tell me what to think.

Don’t Dear Leader’s flip-flops bother you at all? He flip-flopped on NAFTA, FISA, and public funding for elections just in the past WEEK!!!! Isn’t Obama’s endorsement disturbing to you of the incumbent white male Bush-enabler John Barrow in Georgia against a black female progressive, since you are so obsessed with race? Where is the hopey-changey there? And the pathetic parody of the presidential seal was icing on the cake.

We do not want an inexperienced, racist, arrogant, misogynistic, Chicago-machine, backroom-deal-making pol for president. Can we make this any clearer to you? The only change that Barack has brought about in my mind is that this life-long Democrat will vote for McCain.

  • Darryl

How dramatic of you, “your logic is laughable” “Astonishing” LOL. It is you who is using Fallacies of Emotion. Emotional charging is that very lack of logic that you are commiting yourself. You don’t know anything about logic. HA!

  • Darryl

Nice lovely message of hope you have there.

  • destardi

Awwww, still running from the very clear posts/video?

    You’re pathetic..no, really.

    How bushlike.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

Oh goodie. Hold off those donations to Obama. *heheh

  • prplvette85

you want to talk about kids? take a look on his website on the “kid”s page. a straight up link for child predators. enough said.

  • Disgusted

This is actually petty too. Not surprising for an Obama supporter. Where were the kids parents? The kid should be applauded for spending his money on something he thought worthwhile. For Hillary not to take his or her money would then be a slap in the face to the kid. Lesson learned. Just because an Obama supporter mocks your desire to do “the right thing” makes Hillary a BAD person for allowing you to do it. Great logic. How does that compare to Rev Wright bilking his flock for a 10,500 Sq FT palacial estate? I am sure mom and dad bought the kid a new PS. What about the flock?

  • http://nobho.blogspot.com/ Johnny at Work

We love it when the Obots post. It confirms what we believe, and confirms that inadequate O’boy is supported only by the brain dead.

Those who can think, even the KOS are starting to realize O’boy is not the creature he pretends to be.

    Keep up the posts Obots.

  • It’s Not Me

Obamarrhoid is not going to be elected to anything. You are delusional if you think he’ll win in November…should he be allowed to steal the nomination from Hillary in August. He can’t win with out Hillary supporters. he’s alienated every other voting demographic the Democratic party had. What’s he have left? The so-called “creative class” and AAs. AAs make up 12-13% of the total U.S. population. Not all AAs are Democrats and not all AAs vote! Good luck with that!

Women are 50% of the Democratic Party and you damn well better believe we have ALWAYS been a DEPENDABLE voting block for the Democratic Party. WE VOTE. But this year we will Not for the CORRUPT Democratic Party.

BO has no one left to vote for him. He’s insulted everyone.

  • Darryl

I don’t hate Obama. I love him. This is tough love. We are doing this for his own good!

  • http://deleted AnninCa

My interests intersect then. LOL* I’m pretty darned determined to show the DNC that voters like me aren’t going to take this one in the chops.

    Nope, nope, nope….

I don’t actually dislike Obama as much as many people here do. I think he’s just another suit, personally. Nothing new. Just a guy with a tan. He’s proving me right, too, with his miraculous race to the center. Shoot, yesterday he picked up Hillary’s mantra about the oil companies.

And that actually pisses me off even more.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

You think he’s extraordinary because he got red state caucus delegates and gamed the system?

He took a huge risk. It required him to then block revotes to make that happen. He couldn’t pull it off by actually winning the votes, could he.

I think his political skills remain untested. I think his pattern is holding. He pulled similar tricks in Illinois. That’s how Barack works.

I think gaining political respect is when a candidate convinces…..truly convinces people that the leader knows how to handle the problems. That’s gaining the will of the people. That’s how progress is made. Universal health care COULD have been a reality. People bought it.

I don’t think Obama has the will of the people on any policy, just on his personality. So what? That doesn’t push the country forward.

I really was gung-ho for Hillary because I was so into solutions for our country. I believed in her totally. Still do, for that matter.

Yes, it must have been on HuffPo. I was troll-rated out by you guys. LOL* But you have to admit, I gave No Quarter there. :)

  • http://deleted AnninCa

I’m pretty comfortable with my stance. As you can see on a different thread, I’m unafraid to disagree with many people here, too. To me, it’s OK to disagree. It should be a big tent.

I’m not into a lot of stuff that others here are interested in. There’s nearly something, however, every day that I AM interested in discussing.

What say you guys over at HuffPo on his FISA stance? I presume that shook you up a bit. (Not me…he’s a suit, I tell you!)

  • Disgusted

As an Illinois resident, I would like to thank you for your Obama donations and your gracious offer to take this clown off our hands. We are tired of it (him). Keep sending your money to a man that will rob you blind if elected. It’s the Chicago way partner. Keep hope alive.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

Actually, I hated that story. I though Hillary should have gently refused it.

I don’t like kids being sucked into politics.

  • Disgusted

I am not fond of the story either but what was Hillary supposed to do? The child wanted to do that because he or she believed it was right. Hillary was damned if she did, damned if she didn’t. How could she deny the kid the right to do what he or she believed in? The parents needed to step in not Hillary.

  • Disgusted

If your chid wanted to do this, wouldn’t you say, Ok if you feel this strongly about it, I will donate the money. Like a reward for not being a selfish POS and worrying about something more than yourself? I know I would.

  • Disgusted

    child not chid
