THE MEANING OF “CHANGE” (1000 WORD VERSION)

In 2008, the American People were deeply concerned about the problems facing this country. They wanted a President who would be thoughtful, articulate and fully capable of solving them. In the Democratic Primary it became choice between two candidates: Hillary Clinton and Mr. Obama—who promised us hope and change. Hillary won more primary votes, but power brokers conspired to break the rules and nominate Mr. Obama. When he assumed the Presidency, he enjoyed strong support. But now a different trend has emerged. Thinking people are coming to the realization that in so many ways, Obama is no better than Bush.

Some of us have been apprehensive about Mr. Obama from the outset. Yes, he lacked experience, but our misgivings went deeper than that. We knew what Shakespeare said was right, i.e. “what’s past is prologue”. When we reviewed Obama’s past, we discovered a State Senator who sold out the interests of his indigent Chicago constituents in habitable public housing to a corrupt real estate developer named Rezko. Later, we found a United States Senator, who sold out the interests of his Illinois constituents in drinking water free of trace nuclear contaminants to Excelon who became a contributor. Twice he sold out his constituents for political gain.

A bona fide progressive would never sell out his constituents to Big Business—that is not in his DNA. However, a Big Business Shill pretending to be a progressive certainly would. Today, the progressives I know who believed in Obama, supported Obama and voted for Obama are shaken to the core by his secret Big Pharma deal, his betrayal of Civil Liberties with respect to FISA, his reversal on Election Reform, his cozy relationship with Goldman Sachs, his expansion of the War in Afghanistan, his Executive Power grab, his monitoring the internet, etc. At some point, it becomes obvious that the game here is less about issues and more about money. There are two words for this: Chicago Rules.

1. THE ROLE OF BIG MEDIA
At the beginning of the 2008 Primary, CNN hired marketing strategists to attach words like “polarizing”, “untrustworthy” and “divisive” to Hillary, and directed their people to repeat them over and over again in the course of their coverage. Meanwhile, MSNBC misogynists Matthews, Olberman and Schuster launched a 24-7 sexist barrage.

After they finished off Hillary, both networks turned their Howitzers on private citizens who questioned Obama. They hunted them down, distorted their message and slandered them as “racists”, “mobs”, “ignorant”, and God forbid “Republicans”. First, they did this to Hillary voters in New Hampshire. Then they did it to Joe the Plummer. Then they did it to Tea Party participants concerned with huge deficits. And now they are doing it to Town Hall on health care.

Why? Is it because they have read this convoluted legislation (written by business lobbyists), and understand its meaning and impact when nobody else does? Or does Big Media have another agenda?
Big Media has powerful incentives to promote Mr. Obama and destroy his opponents. In the case of broadcast media their support is predicated on the business interests of the multi-national companies who own them. Today, General Electric owns NBC and MSNBC, AOL Time Warner owns CNN, Westinghouse owns CBS and Disney owns ABC. Each of them has an arrangement with the White House.

In the case of General Electric, it involves business opportunities with respect to nuclear power, cap and trade, and health care, etc. That is why the CEO of General Electric pierced the corporate veil and killed negative stories on Mr. Obama by an NBC affiliate in New Jersey. In the case of print media, the deal involves a possible taxpayer bailout for newspapers like the New York Times, Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times whose business models are failing.

Experience has show that Mr. Obama is willing to make “Rezko-type deals” to support business contributors. It also indicates that Hillary would do what she believes is best for the American People, i.e. reexamine NAFTA, regulate hedge funds, alternatives to nuclear, etc. That is the difference. And it is all the difference they need to promote him and attack her through their Big Media subsidiaries.

2. THE ROLE OF THE CHICAGO MACHINE
Mr. Obama is joined at the hip to the Chicago Political Machine. This is an anti-democratic model of government which rewards insiders and impoverishes the poor. It operates on the principle of quid pro quo, rather than an issue oriented politics. As such, it is the kind of organization a true progressive could never support.

It is based on a strong Mayor and rubberstamp Council. It provides no-bid government contracts, government jobs, and special assistance in disputes before public officials, e.g. judges, policemen and inspectors. Beneficiaries of that “help” reciprocate by delivering votes, campaign contributions and graft. That pattern is being extended to state party organizations through the DNC, and whistleblowers are fired.

During the 2008 Democratic Primary, the ACORN operatives trained at Camp Obama committed widespread voter fraud and intimidation in the caucus states. Victims and neutral observers filed 2000 complaints which DNC Obama partisan Brazile refused to investigate. Later the Rule and By-laws Committee broke its own rules and disenfranchised 600,000 voters.

During the General Election, his New Black Panthers allies intimidated voters in Philadelphia, his SEIU goons committed an alleged hate crime against a black conservative in St. Louis, and his 18,000 paid moveon.org allies formed a flash mob to boycott Whole Foods because he had the temerity to venture an opinion on Health Care. The Obama Deputy Chief of Staff (Messina) said hit them back twice as hard.

3. CONCLUSION
Business elites selected Obama, used their Big Media subsidiaries to promote him and if you look at the issues it becomes obvious that as President he is doing their business—not ours.

For those that haven’t been watching REDEYE on Fox at 3am Eastern, my advice is to start. It is hysterical, and they hit him everynite.

Obama was at 7% popularity in Israel last month– guess its lower now. I was shocked when I read Sviggy’s statement yesterday. How low can we go?

But then who could have believed that Seniors would be called Un-American for disagreeing with Obama on Healthcare or that White Americans would be called racists? Are we comfortable with Corporate Executives being called devils? How about greedy doctors cutting off people’s limbs for money or investigating the CIA for doing their job? I am sooooooo sick and disgusted by Oblahblahblah. I actually yell at the TV when his mug comes on and flip off the tv and sometimes have to flip something else off.

Because I live in a “swing state”, I experienced major Obama fatigue very early on during the election. His commercials ran constantly and on every existing obscure station. Then you couldn’t even escape to HDTV, Food Network, Lifetime, Discovery, ESPN — there was absolutely no place to hide.

Foolishly I thought that once the election was over, he would have to minimize his speechifying and get around to governing. Guess again!

I feel that Obama is subconsciously trying to recapture the high of adulation that he experienced during the campaign by continually begging people for their time and approval but somehow its just not working so much anymore. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Despite Obama claiming there would be no tax increases on the middle-class, Stephanopoulos insisted that there would be and then read the definition to Obama. The Liar laughed and more or less ridiculed Stephanopoulos for reading the definition. Still, I thought Obama looked bad in this interview. Of course, I always think Obama looks bad.
