people really do have the shortest memories…

People are all a twitter because Joe Wilson yelled out *You Lie* last night when Obama said illegal immigrants would not be covered under his plan.

But, in the very same speech, just seconds prior, Obama accuses Sarah Palin and other Republicans (and the media) of LYING.

However, they have since removed the provision that Palin was referring to, and Democrats rejected the amendment to require verification and close this loophole allowing illegals to be covered.

From The Hill:

Despite statements to the contrary, the Obama administration could force the American people to pay for the healthcare of millions of illegal immigrants in the U.S.

The Democrats’ bill in the House, H.R. 3200, contains gaping loopholes that will allow illegal immigrants to receive taxpayer-funded benefits. And these loopholes are no accident.

The legislation contains no verification mechanism to ensure that illegal immigrants do not apply for benefits. Republicans offered an amendment to close this loophole — it would have required verification using the existing methods that are already in place to verify eligibility for other federal benefits programs. But, when they were asked to put the language of the bill where their words were, in a party-line vote, House Democrats rejected the amendment to require verification and close this loophole.

The bill also leaves open the possibility that if one citizen family member is eligible for benefits, then the entire family — including illegal immigrants — is also eligible for the benefits.

From Legal Insurrection – The House Bill Does Cover Illegals

Technically, Obama was correct that his plan does not cover illegal aliens because Obama has no plan that has been released, only concepts. So if Obama says his plan doesn’t cover illegals, then by definition it does not cover illegals — at least until we see the language in his plan. Similarly, the Senate HELP Committee bill defines an “eligible individual” in numerous places throughout the bill to include only citizens and legal residents (including for the public option, at page 111 of the bill).

So using the two measures, the non-existent Obama bill and the draft Senate HELP Committee bill which was not a full Senate proposal, Obama was correct.

But if the standard is the full House Bill, HR3200, then it appears that Obama was incorrect. There is nothing in HR3200 that excludes illegal aliens from the various coverage provisions (with a few limited exceptions). The Congressional Research Service agrees with this assessment (full report embedded below). For example, with regard to health care exchanges, the CRS found:

H.R. 3200 does not contain any restrictions on noncitzens—whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently—participating in the Exchange.

Since the Obama administration wanted a full House vote passing HR3200 prior to the August recess, Obama was okay with a bill that included illegal aliens.

Obama, in his speech Wednesday, also accused people of using scare tactics:

“But what we’ve also seen in these last months is the same partisan spectacle that only hardens the disdain many Americans have towards their own government. Instead of honest debate, we’ve seen scare tactics.”

But then turns around and makes this statement:

“Everyone in this room knows what will happen if we do nothing. Our deficit will grow. More families will go bankrupt. More businesses will close. More Americans will lose their coverage when they are sick and need it most. And more will die as a result. We know these things to be true.”

Talk about scare tactics.

People are also complaining about the loss of civility in the Congress. They are shocked that a member of Congress would disrespect the President in such a manner.

I have also read many complaints about the Republicans and their refusal to stand and clap at certain points in the speech. Are people’s memories really that selective?

After eight years of calling Bush a mass murdering, Nazi style Hitler, dumbass and worse, Obama supporters run screaming and crying because of some comparisons of Obama to Hitler. (Many of which are coming from the far left!)

bush-hitler-montage

And who could forget about Obama hiring Van Jones? A guy who called Republicans assholes, said white polluters steer toxins into minority neighborhoods, said only white people were prone to mass murder in schools, and charged the former President with involvement in 9/11. And even after Glenn Beck exposed all of this, Obama stood behind him, and didn’t speak out against Van Jones’ comments or behavior. Van Jones was not fired, he resigned.

And let’s not forget about Obama’s old buddy, loves him like an uncle, Jeremiah Wright. Still slinging that hate speech!

The left was also outraged last week because some people rejected the lesson plan sent around by the White House, asking students to write essays on how they can “help the President”. But yet, the last time a President (George HW bush) spoke to schoolchildren, the Democrats were outraged, even going so far as to hold hearings.

Obama lectured on the need for civility in the debate, which is quite comical after the Democrats and liberal media spent the last few months calling anyone who opposes the reform, or current plans racist, teabagging, swastika wearing, evil mongering dangerous violent mobs spreading lies, innuendo and rumor. (Despite the fact that violence and disfigurement has come from the Left.)

And Hot Air pointed out: Guy who joked about Hillary being a “mad bitch” lectures GOP on civility.

I guess Dana Millbanks forgot about his little Hillary Gets Mad Bitch Beer skit he performed recently…

And as for lies, how about msnbc when they edited their video to eliminate the fact that this “white guy showing up with a gun strapped to his waist” was actually black?

Two wrongs don’t make a right. But seriously, people need to quit the whining and crying about all the “attacks on Obama” and remember that just a mere short time ago, the shoe was on the other foot.

I don’t think anyone is smearing Obama, or intentionally spreading misinformation and lies about the health care reform. People are looking at prior statements made by Obama and the Democrats, and they are looking at the facts in the bills.

Check out the Fact Check by AP from Wednesday nights speech and Reason’s Obama’s Lies Matter, Too. Read them and then ask yourself if people have a right to be concerned and a right to question the rhetoric.

Typical progressives: Do as I say, not as I do.

I’m not a big fan of George Bush, but I heard more disgusting things said about that man than ANY President before him.

I’m so sick of the liberal media. I don’t watch ANY of the major networks anymore. When you have professional(cough) journalists basically calling the American people STUPID, then you lose me as a viewer.

The vile things that I’ve heard said about Sarah Palin and Hillary were the final straw for me. I have never heard such misogynistic rhetoric in my life.

    Journalism is DEAD.

I just sent Joe a little cash and hope others do as well. When the RINOs and other spineless Republicans hear about this campaign coffers expanding, maybe they’ll get the message that they’d better grow a backbone (or trunk, tusks, big ears and a backbone) or they may find themselves looking for another job in the near future. As for blue dogs, maybe they’ll decide to take another dip in the dye pool.

  • tzada

Funny Khan I loved the pictures you drew us. Sad and scary that it has come to this though. I hope Pat sees you word imagination and draws up something.

Great job, Sara! I am blown away by the material you put together here.

That MSNBC video thing was not even a real tea party person but was a radio stuntman! What liars, crooks, creeps and vile creatures the MSM is. Hand in hand they are with Washington. They must laugh theirselves silly at us and what they plan.

I signed up on Joe Wilson Face Book wall. There were lots of posts there too.

AGII-I love your passion, you channeled all the frustration into one fantastic story, thank you so much.
You said it all; again last night all his highness did was divide the nation even further.

  • John

I sent Joe some money this morning. I also encouraged my staff of 40 employees to do the same. For every dollar they donate, I match dollar for dollar.I can tell you only 3 did not not contribute. Out of the 37, 29 of them gave more than $250.00, 5 of them over $100.00 and 3 of them under $100.00. Time to show these crooks how we play …

  • hokma

Obama, that great constitutional professor (LOL), either lied about illegal aliens not having access to a public option or he does not know the constitution. Judge Napolitano on FoxNews said that even if Congress stipulated that illegals wold not have access to government provided healthcare, the Supreme Court would delcare it unconstitutional.

I found about a dozen lies from Obama in that speech before I stopped counting. I also never, NEVER heard a President in a ntaional speech calling anyone a liar. I guess it takes one to know one.

EXCELLENT post, AGII. You really nailed it. The blatant hypocrisy would be funny if it wasn’t so, well, hypocritical! I have no love lost for Bush at all, mind you – hell, I even voted for that spineless Kerry (as opposed to not voting). BUT – to act like the Dems have NEVER violated “decorum” is just absurd.

Come to think of it, they violated decorum repeatedly when it came to how they treated Hillary Clinton.

Tammy – right there with ya.

    Great piece!!

In case anybody’s interested, John McCain has an electronic petition going that opposes government-run health care, writing that he respectfully disagrees with Obama’s plan as laid out in The Speech last night. I’m passing along the link to the site FYI:

It just occured to me that the site above might just be for the signing. Here’s the e-mail that went with it:

    “My Friend,

Last night, during his speech to a joint session of Congress and the nation, President Obama outlined his new proposal for health care reform. While I respect the President’s point of view, and hope for an eventual compromise, I believe his proposal amounts to an egregiously expensive and expansive form of government-run health care.

After a month of hosting and attending town hall meetings with my constituents in Arizona and around the country, I know that Americans want health care reform. But what is so very clear to me is that Americans want to reform health care in the right way. I am more convinced than ever that we must fix what is wrong with our health care system while doing no harm to the parts that work well.

This means we need to have malpractice reform, we must emphasize wellness and fitness, give people the option to get the health insurance of their choice and bring the cost of health care under control.

If you agree, that we need to reform health care reform the right way, then I ask you to sign my health care reform petition today by following this link.

I am very troubled by the potential cost of the President’s outlined plans. I know that you are very concerned with the national debt and a projected $9 trillion deficit. The prospective cost of the President’s plan could reach $2 trillion, and frankly, our country simply cannot afford this price tag.

I will not support heath care reform that adds to the out-of-control spending spree the Democrats in Congress have gone on this year. And I ask you to join me in rejecting the addition of $2 trillion of debt by signing this petition right away.

Government-run health care is something we simply cannot afford, and I know that the majority of Americans agree with me that it is not the quality of health care that needs reforming, but the cost. But, I need to know you stand with me. Will you follow this link to sign my petition?

As you know, the Democrats in Washington are doing everything in their power to push through their proposed reform full of political gimmicks. Your action today will send a clear message to them; we don’t want government-run health care. Thank you, my friend, for your support and involvement on this very important national issue.

    Thank you,

    John McCain

hokma: there’s already a headline article stating that illegal immigrants (I hate that stupid term–they’re illegal aliens) CAN buy into the public option. We, the people, pay for the public option so this is money out of our pockets. I am opposed to that.

The same article discusses that the Democrats defeated measures that would require people to prove legal residence before treatment. Only one reason they would defeat it.

Obama is just a huge liar. Joe Wilson got it right.

  • tek

Tammy: I agree with you on everything except the worst rhetoric aimed at Dubya. Bill and Hillary Clinton were the most villified people ever, and Hillary wasn’t even a public official.

Bush was most certainly the recipient of the worst barrage of nasty insults than any other president. Yet I don’t recall him lashing back, or insulting his detractors the way Obama does.

Last night, Obama insulted Republicans, Palin, Bush, Radio hosts, Doctors, cable TV, etc. etc. Some were called liars, some were called greedy, and all were held to be inferior in motive and action to Mr. Perfect himself. For the better part of an hour, Obama stood up there and scolded, lectured, and patrinized from a position of self bestowed superiority. This coming from a chain smoking, drug riddled, dishonest, flaky slacker. He makes me physically ill.

He set up and knocked down more strawmen than I can count, in a kind of circular rhetoric. How many times have you heard him make a point this way: “Some people don’t want healthcare reform….”. WHO! WHO doesn’t want healthcare reform asshole? He just built another strawman, and now he’ll bravely knock it down. What a hero.

Jack macy: I hope you’re right. I keep reading that the president who follows Obama will be the most important. May it be Hillary.

  • http://sarainitalyblog.blogspot.com/ American Girl in Italy

After a lot of back and forth, Tapper closes with this:

Could the House bill expand emergency Medicaid laws as they already exist, perhaps – perhaps — expanding coverage for illegal immigrants in keeping with current law?

    According to CRS: Yes.

    http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2009/09/from-the-fact-check-desk-illegal-immigrants-and-health-care-reform.html

    And he also wrote:

As long as I have your attention, I should point out that all of us already pay the costs of health care for illegal immigrants — through emergency room visits, Emergency Medicaid, hidden fees by hospitals, workplace safety incidents, and the like. This idea that we all aren’t paying for this one way or another is non-reality-based.

Sounds to me that either through expanded emergency care, or illegals receiving care the same way they currently are, they would in fact, be covered – one way or another.

Until DC comes up with a way to provide health care to those residing in the US illegally, they will be covered, whether it is worded in the bill or not.

Also, I read somewhere that excluding them might be against the constitution or something like that?

They are shocked that a member of Congress would disrespect the President in such a manner.

Since the president insists on insulting our collective intelligence by stretching the truth, lying by omission, lying by diversion, lying by obfuscation, or just flat out lying each time he unfurls his flapping jib, I say the Congressman was only telling the truth, a thing for which he should not apologize or be ashamed. Indeed, It is the Democrats who should be apologizing to the American public for foisting on them a man who is not only unqualified and incompetent but, in addition, lacks the demeanor, discipline and temperament to be POTUS. Put it this way, if someone were to PUBLICLY call me or a group I belong to liars, I reserve the right to respond in kind at a place of my choosing, manners and civility be damned.

Finally, I do respect the Office of President and that is the first reason I don’t respect the interloper currently squatting in it–he has no respect for it.

Does any of this even matter??? WHy are you defending anyone here? Joe Wilson yelled ‘liar’ to the President of the United States. Sorry sara, but that is a no-no in at a joint meeting of congress – do some research and read about it. catcalls and booing are accepted, calling a particular person a liar is NOT. and Obama did NOT call Sarah Palin a liar – don’t assign false statements to him. he said people (including radio talk show hosts, politicians, et al) were spreading lies and he is 100% correct. there are no death panels and ‘illegal immigrants’ (which is a pretty nasty term to use, you obviously do not live in the US or you wouldn’t be saying it)are NOT covered by any of these health care options unless the PAY for it – what the heck do you care if an undocumented individual pays for his/her own insurance??? NO GOVERNEMENT/FEDERAL funds will be used to supplement any health care for undocumented persons. just because a bill does NOT say people are NOT covered does not mean they are covered. and the bill Obama was referring to does NOT give undocumented persons federal dollars for insurance or health care.
If an undocumented individual goes to emergency he/she will get taken care of – that is the law. but please show me where that care is paid for with federal money-we are paying for it with higher premiums – so what difference does it make where the money comes from – someone is paying for it, just like we pay when drivers who have no insurance get into an accident.
(Besides, undocumented individuals RARELY go to a dr. for any treatment – that is a fact – they are too scared they’ll be caught and hauled in).
you people here are truly idiots – unbelievable.

Sorta O/T but a friend of mine is on Medicaid in CA with her son. She recently had surgery twice, with prior blood work, and a skin condition that they resolved, etc so she was being seen by them a lot.

Each time she went in they would remind her for the next appointment that she needed to bring in her birth certificate.

Never mind that she is sitting there with her birth certificate for that appt, has a Medicaid card, and a driver’s license. She had to bring it in again.

During this time her son is also getting his check ups and such for school and he is never given this instruction. So finally she asks what gives? Why does my son not have to bring in his birth certificate when clearly he would be the one that most would suppect of having citizenship issues.

To fill out the story more she is in her late 40s, pasty, with a common name like Wilson. While her son takes after his father in both looks and name. His last name is a common name like Garcia.

They said something about knowing his birth certificate was ok because he was born after a specific year. While her, pushing 50 is the one they have to check each time.

Needless to say, she isn’t a racist, and was offended that her citizenship is questioned each time she goes in. And who wants to carry an authorized birth certificate with them to the doctor’s office? You would think one verification would be all that is required and not for every visit.

She is still stumped over it.

Wilson is on TV right now. According to his take, there is no credible verification for citizenship status in any of the present bills and lots of loopholes to slide people under the radar.

And even if that’s the case, what will we do if an illegal alien is hurt? Would a hospital turn that patient away, particularly if his/her condition was critical? I don’t think so. How many doctors/nurses are going to watch any human being bleed to death in the ER and not raise a finger?

There needs to be some way to address the expense. The taxpayer shouldn’t be paying, nor the hospital. If the patient is hired by an American employer then the bill should be on their shoulders. Or if the patient is unemployed then he/she should be sent back to country of origin with bill in hand.

In fact, Karl Denninger suggested that if the country in question balks at paying said bill then we start subtracting aide to that country. All the penalties should not be on the American public or medical community.

Something has to give. And it’s why I think healthcare reform is tied to other questions–illegal immigration being one of them.

Cost is a huge question. We’re simply not being provided with details that make any sense.

And frankly, you can keep the hope meme. Because at the end of the day, “hope” will not pay the damn bills.

  • ~~JustMe~~

Turns out Rep Joe Wilson is an immigration attorney. His efforts to introduce specific prohibitions against providing health care to illegals were turned down repeatedly in the House. So this guy is not just some hooligan calling Obama a liar. He is the world’s expert on provisions in the bill that hand health care to illegals.

As of last night, the Dems and obots turned their guns on Wilson. Dems immediately began raising big bucks to support his opponent in 2010.

    OT–Sarah Palin on O’s speech

Response to the President’s Health Care Speech
    Yesterday at 9:25pm
After all the rhetoric is put aside, one principle ran through President Obama’s speech tonight: that increased government involvement in health care can solve its problems.

Many Americans fundamentally disagree with this idea. We know from long experience that the creation of a massive new bureaucracy will not provide us with “more stability and security,” but just the opposite. It’s hard to believe the President when he says that this time he and his team of bureaucrats have finally figured out how to do things right if only we’ll take them at their word.

Our objections to the Democrats’ health care proposals are not mere “bickering” or “games.” They are not an attempt to “score short term political points.” And it’s hard to listen to the President lecture us not to use “scare tactics” when in the next breath he says that “more will die” if his proposals do not pass.

In his speech the President directly responded to concerns I’ve raised about unelected bureaucrats being given power to make decisions affecting life or death health care matters. He called these concerns “bogus,” “irresponsible,” and “a lie” — so much for civility. After all the name-calling, though, what he did not do is respond to the arguments we’ve made, arguments even some of his own supporters have agreed have merit.

In fact, after promising to “make sure that no government bureaucrat …. gets between you and the health care you need,” the President repeated his call for an Independent Medicare Advisory Council — an unelected, largely unaccountable group of bureaucrats charged with containing Medicare costs. He did not disavow his own statement that such a group, working outside of “normal political channels,” should guide decisions regarding that “huge driver of cost … the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives….” He did not disavow the statements of his health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, and continuing to pay his salary with taxpayer dollars proves a commitment to his beliefs. The President can keep making unsupported assertions, but until he directly responds to the arguments I’ve made, I’m going to call him out too.

It was heartening to hear the President finally recognize that tort reform is an important part of any solution. But this concession shouldn’t lead us to take our eye off the ball: the Democrats’ proposals will not reduce costs, and they will not deliver better health care. It’s this kind of “healthy skepticism of government” that truly reflects a “concern and regard for the plight of others.” We can’t wait to hear the details on that; we look forward to working with you on tort reform.

Finally, President Obama delivered an offhand applause line tonight about the cost of the War on Terror. As we approach the anniversary of the September 11th attacks and honor those who died that day and those who have died since in the War on Terror, in order to secure our freedoms, we need to remember their sacrifices and not demonize them as having had too high a price tag.

Remember, Mr. President, elected officials work for the people. Forcing a conclusion in order to claim a “victory” is not healthy for our country. We hear you say government isn’t always the answer; now hear us — that’s what we’ve been saying all along.

I don’t think doctors are out there trying to be negligent. In cases of true negligence, the patient would still have the right to sue.

The whole idea of tort reform is to diminish the number of suits when the end result does not match the patient’s expectation. By and large, doctors do the best they can but they’re not gods, never have been.

And I can tell you from my own family experience that you can have two patients with the same problem, treated by the same medical staff and get entirely different results. Some results are spectacular. Others, not so much.

Until we get out of this mentality that we should assign blame to every accident or misfortune, we will continue to be one of the most litigious societies in the world.

Another little news item our stonewalling MSM let fly under the radar is the change in eligibility requirements for SCHIP (State Children’s Health Insurance Program). Birth certificates are no longer required for that either, a change this Congress and administration passed earlier this year.

I can think of no other reason why this, and the loopholes in HR3200, are happening except to pander to the Latino vote. If someone else can give me a more plausible explanation, I’d welcome it.

Yes, we all know we’re already paying for illegals to receive healthcare here. But do we really understand the unintended consequences of policies like these? Do people realize when something is subsidized, demand for it increases? Look what’s happening in countries like France vis a vis immigration, due in part to the generous social welfare programs it offers. Do all of these union workers who support the POTUS realize that illegal immigrant labor lowers the level of wages?

And BTW AGII, thanks for this article — you nailed it again! The POTUS is the last person who should be complaining about scare tactics and lying.

Our medical fees are higher, especially in certain specialties, because the physicians have to pay extremely high fees for insurance that pays legal bills in case of malpractice suits.

It’s not as egregious a problem in the field of education, but for those of you who hate the NEA, I should tell you that it’s likely that a large percentage of the teachers who join do so for no other reason than by doing so, they are guaranteed the legal representation in the case they are sued for some stupid reason by a student or a parent.

An egregious example was the Columbine case. The English teacher who DID try to warn that these two boys were possible mental cases was sued by the parents of some of the victims. She was the only one who tried to get some attention paid to those boys as a possible danger. The principal and the parents sort of dismissed her concerns as boys will be boys.

So afterwards, some of the victims’ parents lawyers decided she would be the best case for suing to get medical and emotional damages for their clients using the excuse that maybe she didn’t try hard enough. Their real reasoning was that her house insurance could be gone after. In other words, they knew she was not at fault. They didn’t want her to take it personally. They just wanted her insurance to pay them something.

She was an excellent teacher. (My son had her one semester.) She and her husband had planned to move to a different house but were prevented for years from doing that as the case against her insurance company dragged on forever, as most court cases do. (She won, eventually, but her life was made miserable for a while.) The saving grace, so to speak, for her was the free legal representation she got because of her membership in the NEA.

I know for a fact that I, myself, joined only for the legal insurance. The NEA never negotiated for the things I really wanted. I didn’t agree with them much on many issues–as especially their endorsement of THE ONE. But layers ARE indeed problems. Over my years of teaching, I heard many stories of teachers’ lives being made miserable by frivolous suits.

You want to be able to sue, but I lost a lot of faith in people when so many chose to sue after this horrible incident.

A month or so ago, I read a great article on Judicial Watch about the free health care illegals receive every day in this country. They said that the Mexican government has offices in 10 American cities, set up to guide illegals to places that will treat them without any questions. Great. There should be a government clearinghouse set up, have doctors and hospitals send all medical billing for illegals there, and then send one big bill sent to the Mexican government once a month.

and ‘illegal immigrants’ (which is a pretty nasty term to use, you obviously do not live in the US or you wouldn’t be saying it)

Who are you? An illegal alien? New Age Woo Woo? Whoever you are, I think you fall in to the out of touch with reality population.

Yes, we know that people who pay their bills and have insurance also pay for the consequences of the illegal aliens who flock to our ER rooms. They don’t pay for auto insurance and they aren’t going to pay for health insurance either. Just as they walked away from the sub-prime loans they took out for houses when the s**t hit the fan. House loans they weren’t even required to show proof of anything…income, drivers license, b/c. We don’t want to pay for them through higher premiums or through higher taxes or the Dims pandering to them for votes.

In our county, the pregnant Mexican women don’t want to have their anchor babies at the county hospital or even the very fine Salinas Memorial; they want to come to Carmel Community, the upscale hotel-like hospital. They drive 20 miles in labor and of course, they have to be admitted. They have turned Salinas from Steinbeck Country into one of the Mexican gang capitals of the US. We are at an all time high for murders and shootings over there and anyone who doesn’t have to go to Salinas would never volunteer. The crappy people in Carmel/Monterey too lazy to do their own house work are getting paid back for the “have/have not” society they’ve helped create. After they clean the house, weed the lawn, wait on tables, etc., their pals come back to rob the house and break into cars all over town. The days of leaving your house or car unlocked are long gone. Even when the car is locked, they’ll smash a window, grab and run. We have a frigging plague on our hands and you are offended by terminology. You terminal niceness cases are a huge part of the problem and one day you will find yourself a direct victim of the trashing of the country. And your race won’t matter if you’re caught in a cross fire or happen to be in the wrong color car. Try staying in Mexico as an “undocumented individual”. HAHAHAHA, they’ll educate you in a Mexican minute.

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

I was not aware of this until I saw my doctor last week; talking about the insurance debacle, he brought up CA tort reform. He found it quite satisfactory. Apparently it is saving him a lot of $$.

Onward to the orthopedic surgeon this week, another insurance conversation. He is incensed. He said at one point in the same day’s mail he got an insurance company notice that his personal premiums were increasing 10% and another insurance provider was decreasing his patient reimbursement by 8%. He, too, believes that Big Insurance and Big Pharma are the Big Winners from their WH meetings with little 0zer0.

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

The Mexican Consulates issue a special ID card, making it the first step in looking legal…for bank accounts, etc. I’d like to see them get the bill for all the misery these people cause. Every week, we have a story of gang shootings; they often helicopter then over to San Jose to the triage center there. I’m just sure the survivor (when there is one) will pay for that out of their drug money.

    From WH.gov…:
Some of people’s concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren’t so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple.

There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false. The reforms — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally.

    WILSON: You lie!

Kim, This is an absolute lie:
NO GOVERNEMENT/FEDERAL funds will be used to supplement any health care for undocumented persons.

Then I waited on line for many years and had a face to face interview with immigration officials before I was allowed to enter this country LEGALLY. I do not know who the hell you are, but I will continue to call people who jumped the line and ended up here without the level of screening that I voluntarily endured ILLEGAL immigrants because that is exactly what they are.

Thank you thinker for the long and difficult road you took. I am sorry it took so long when you were doing the right thing. You were in those trenches and saw many people cut in.

Sucks when those seeking to come here do so while mocking our laws, where you followed them.

    It is not right.

    Glad you made it.

The HoPuff brings in another great work of reporting (snark) does anyone actually read their crap?

Rep. Joe Wilson Heckles Great Moments in History

    snip

In heckling President Barack Obama, he not only ensured that a country that had pretty much never heard of him knew him as a hectoring lunatic better suited for the peanut galleries of health-care-reform town halls than the august body of the Congress,

Saturday, September 5, 2009 in the Sturgeon Bay Advocate was published a letter to the editor by Paula Cashin, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin.

Her plea was for our country to increase it’s debt and fund health care for another government run program. Hummm. To sum up her long verbage let me say this about that.

Oh and let’s not forget Biden’s “To keep from going broke, we have to spend more money”??? Give me a break! I thought about Pauls’s letter…

“Let me get this straight. Obama’s health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is nearly broke.”

So you think health care is expensive now, just wait till it’s free.

    What could possibly go wrong?”
    skip.
