PUMA’s Darragh Murphy Today on Fox & Friends

You “met” Darragh Murphy last night in Larry Johnson’s must-read post — chock full of new information and revelations — “Barack is not Qualified.”

Darragh’s Web site: blog.PUMAPac.org. PUMA stands for People United Means Action. Darragh, a Massachusetts blogger, describes her blog and 527:

Puma PAC is a political action committee organized in June 2008. We are registered as a non-affiliated Political Action Committee (PAC) with the Federal Election Commission and have organized as a 527 Organization with the Internal Revenue Service. This is our official website and blog. You may know that there is another, more defiant meaning for the acronym P.U.M.A. and that many of us are motivated by a deep disgust with and distrust of the DNC leadership. There will be no unity in the Democratic party until the voices of the 18 million voters who support Hillary Clinton are heard and heeded. Until the voices of Pumas are once again listened to by the leadership of the Democratic party, we will be guided by that defiance. We will treat insult with uprightness and will meet disdain with disdain. We will not be bullied, brainwashed, or bossed into falling in line.

We are motivated to action by our shared belief that the current leadership of the Democratic National Committee has abrogated its responsibility to represent the interests of all democrats in all 50 states. They are misleading our party and aim to mislead our country into nominating an illegitimate candidate for president in 2008. Our goals are fourfold:

1. To support the candidacy of Hillary Clinton. Updated 6/7/08 — Hillary Clinton was forced to suspend her campaign because the DNC decided to select its preferred nominee, so we are not directly campaigning for her. We consider her to be the leader of the Democratic party and our members will continue to support her throughout this election cycle.

2. To lobby and organize for changes in leadership in the DNC

3. To critique and oppose the misogyny, discrimination, and disinformation in the mainstream media, including mainstream blogs and other outlets of new media

4. To support the efforts of those political figures who have allied themselves with Hillary Clinton and who have demonstrated commitment to our first three goals …

And, don’t miss the other video of Darragh, interviewed at her Boston home, at the conclusion of Larry Johnson’s post last night.

      Wow, just watched her interview…

      not bad at all, Darragh!!!!

      Thank you!

  • Ms J in FL

I guess her appearance on FOXNEWS blows the theory that we’re just a bunch of demented old ladies.
    GO PUMA!
    GO MCCAIN!
    VIVA HILLARY!

    • Dawnelle

she was fantastic!! They need to show this on the KOOLAID channel MSNBO!!

I don’t know if this was posted on an earlier thread but I’ve found a brand NEW MANNING VIDEO from YESTERDAY! 6/23

    W00T! ;-)

  • draeinoregon

That was awsome. I am so proud of Murphy!
It was clear, concise, and she didn’t let them make her look irrational or silly which is the MSM meme.

That video makes us all proud to be PUMA’s.

    Darragh did a fantastic job.

Faked certificate suggests that Obama may not be “natural born” US citizen
By Reuven Koret June 24, 2008

It is now a certainty that the “birth certificate” claimed by the Barack Obama campaign as authentic is a photoshopped fake.

Janice Okubo, Director of Communications of the State of Hawaii Department of Health, told Israel Insider: “At this time there are no circumstances in which the State of Hawaii Department of Health would issue a birth certification or certification of live birth only electronically.” And, she added, “In the State of Hawaii all certified copies of certificates of live birth have the embossed seal and registrar signature on the back of the document.”

    • sowsear

Does anyone else remember a few months back reading some posts supposedly by a person whose family grew up in Kenya and knew BO’s family (Possibly/Probably on TM). He/She said that shortly before BO’s birth, his parents were in Kenya and his mother came to full term there; they were denied passage on a flight home, and the baby was born in Africa. Immediately after his birth, the family left for Hawaii and his birth was registered when they arrived back there. Aside from that possiblility, someone else has said that in Hawaii at the time of his birth, both parents had to be citizens in order for the child to be considered a citizen. Could that be true?

      • http://deleted AnninCa

There’s a different thread for that discussion.

      • wodiej

I don’t think parents have to be citizens for a child to be one as long as the baby is born here. Wouldn’t that frost the DNC asses if it were to come out that Obama is not US born. Automatic disqualification for Presidency.

      • djia

I read that over on freedomes enemies website back before super tuesday, but it has since been scrubbed from the website.

  • Karen

She is the best representative for our side…very articulate and presents a truly reasoned point of view.

    • ame

      Absolutely…stayed on message.

    • Dawnelle

      I’m noticing something weird though

the last 2 PUMA women looked similar to each other and Hillary (blonde, blue eyes)

some of the bloggers here would do just a fine a job I bet!

do we have some men to volunteer? How about our Native Dragon?

      • Dawnelle

        ugh typos sorry

    • http://deleted AnninCa

My thinking is that the message is now starting to firm up. The initial interviews were more ragged because the emotions were high.

Now, it’s settling down into a clear focus.

Sexism is still a point, but only ONE point. This message regarding the process of the DNC has a much broader appeal.

A LOT more people will relate.

      • fran

I think it is very important that spokespeople clearly fight the meme that the media is trying to push: “You are willing to vote Republican/against your own (party’s) interests just out of spite.”

That is not accurate. Our resistnce is patriotic: is a fundamental democratic issue. Country before party. The primary process was corrupt for a number of reasons: caucuses, fraud/intimidation, disenfranchisement, the RBC debacle, and the DNC’s weakness and manipulative behavior (ie: Dean/Pelosi/Brazile et. al). Sexism and race baiting are other issues, and then there is the huge issue of Obama’s unfitness to lead.

Murphy downplayed this in the interview, focusing on his inexperience. That is only one aspect of Obama’s inadequacy: his arrogance, incessant lying, hypocrisy, and poor judgment are leading contenders.

There needs to be a very clear response to the dismissive (“you’re just sore losers”) attitude that is often in these interviews.

Murphy was good in both instances. Paula was very direct and effective too. I just think the fundamental issue of the party’s betrayal of core democratic principles needs to be the key theme, because that will resonate and not make it about losing, Hillary, etc. but something much larger.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

I think that’s just an opener……All interviews have an opener as to why they are even interviewing the person.

This is Fox News standard opener.

Did you see Greta’s interview where she actually tried to say, “Man, my e-mails tell me party unity is delusional?”

She didn’t even manage to get Pelosi to first base with the truth.

An opener has to be a bit challenging to work.

In this case, no. PUMA has a message.

  • Ellen Tenn

Darragh did a great job stating her point!

  • vinnie

Great job Darragh. They can chant Unity along with hope and change, and we’re not buying it. Everytime I see Pelosi, Dean, and Brazile, I’m reminded that these Three Stooges are the reason why I left the DEM party and will never give them the satisfaction of casting a vote for Mr. knock off.

  • Denise

    Great interview!

  • http://deleted AnninCa

She did a fabulous job of articulating the voices of so many of us!

    I loved it!

PUMA is emerging as a very professional and worthy coalition to support.

  • OxyCon

    Right on!
Michelle Obama said that blacks would wise up and stop supporting the Clintons and turn and support Obama, and she must have known what Obama was going to do. His campaign wrote a memo in which they deliberately looked for words from those around Hillary which they could twist around and make accusations of racism. Then Barack Obama started reciting racist, anti-white speeches from the Malcolm X movie in front of predominantly black audiences.
Obama deliberately turned the AAs against the Clintons and against whites in general so that he could monopolize the black vote, which ended up being his margin of victory. I’d say the evidence is pretty damning that Michelle Obama new what the plan was. Obama used racism to get the AA vote. There is no pretty way to sugar coat what he did. He turned blacks against whites.

Sweet blog special: “Black America will wake up”–Michelle Obama on MSNBC.
WASHINGTON—With polls showing African-Americans have yet to give overwhelming support to White House hopeful Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), his wife Michelle said “black America will wake up and get it” in an interview running on MSNBC on Monday.

They didn’t “wake up and get it” they were jostled and dragged out of bed by Obama’s race baiting and dogwhistling.

  • http://paganpower.wordpress.com/ PaganPower

Great interview and great video. I still prefer Party Unity My Ass. But whatever. Hear us roar!

  • 30yrdem-not any more

Great Job….I am glad we have a voice….Fox seems to be the only one who will give any air time on this but I am sure the others will wake up before November..NOT!…they won’t cover this because they keep saying we will come home…misleading the public once again…

I am keeping all of these videos on the side of my blog so people will know we will not fall in line…

  • http://deleted AnninCa

TalkLeft has made a big issue as how their site is NOT a PUMA site. I found the statement by the blog owner to be juicy reading, if you’re into some amusement.

It infuriated many of their bloggers there.

This coalition is catching fire like nothing I’ve seen ever.

    Sort of fun stuff, eh?

Nancy Pelosi looks awful, awful, awful. The PUMA spokespeople look fresh, determined, and glowing.

    I love it.

  • Denise

Per my previous post I really felt insulted by the Nancy Pelosi interview on Foxnews with Greta last night. I felt Nancy was talking down to we the people. Nancy was so arrogant it was nauseating. In my opinion Nancy basically said to we the people that we should not question her decisions and she doesn’t have to be accountable and how dare we ask her to justify anything. Nancy didn’t use the interview to tell us about “the change” she used it as an opportunity to talk down the GOP along with we the people.

I’ve raised my children and I don’t have time for the President to grow up in White House. I am not mad Hillary lost the nomination but I am very concerned about my country.

First: if the Democrats think it’s just the women that are not considering voting for Obama they forgot to ask my husband (and this family prays and votes together).

Second: if they’re just counting the Democratic primary votes I think they are forgetting that a lot of Republican families came out in support of Hillary.

Third: If the Democrats think that we women are just mad and we’ll get over it then they should remember the old saying “Hell hath no fury like a women scorned!” That my friends is the truth, just ask my husband.

In my opinion the Democratic party does not speak or care about we the women voters. Women voters have rights and freedom of speech. When I cast my vote for McCain in November it will not be due to Premenstrual syndrome (PMS). My vote for McCain will reflect the love that I have for my country, my children, my family and friends to keep us all safe and prosperous.

McCain brings “Action” which mean more to me than Hope, Change and just yes we can words. Everyone knows that “Action” speaks louder than “just words.”

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Nancy was very dismissive of women in that interview. She came off badly.

      • 30yrdem-not any more

I agree…Greta is putting up the unedited video today…it may be up now… yup it is..

        http://gretawire.foxnews.com/2008/06/25/unedited-interview-with-speaker-of-the-house/

Watching her makes me want to vote for McCain..same goes for Kerry and Richardson…Dean…

        • http://deleted AnninCa

That was a fun watch. Thanks so much! My gosh, could you ever see why McCain is whipping Obama on the issue of energy, eh?

Such double talk…..made me howl over here with laughter.

She simply brushed aside all discussion of disaffected Democrats with the same old tired crap about family issues. Frankly, let the men demand pay for family leave. Why is it our responsibility to slug it out for families.

          Mine is grown. :)

    • http://chriss chris

That’s how she’s always been. A San Fran elitist (no offense to a great city btw). When she and Deano boy took the power reins of the dems things started to really unravel. They didn’t want to give that up so the war with the Clintons began. Nan and Howie picked someone that could grab the people with his style but easily manipulated, so they could keep control. They sold their souls to the dark powers who came along with him. JMHO. Too bad they didn’t look below the surface to see what was lurking underneath the wonderful presentation and what harm they are now causing to this country.

      • http://deleted AnninCa

Did you hear the sneer when she said, “I really am too busy with my job to know about the sexism in the race.”

        *meow!*

  • http://youtube.com/user/NLee777 N. Lee

I am a PUMA, but I am not just putting blame on the DNC. Obama is a menace to society. I put as much blame on him that the party fractured.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

I have my issues with Obama, too. But PUMA is more about changing the process.

This business of selecting rather than electing is truly a cause worth backing, even after the tempers have cooled down.

The backroom political coup needs to be stopped and stopped without any question as to why.

The WORST thing to happen is that he loses, but the DNC skates by and blames racism.

No way I want to see that happen.

BTW, I’m thrilled she brought up the fact that the Democrats threw Appalacia voters under the bus. That has offended me nearly as much as the sexism did.

    • Dawnelle

I agree. Nancy is not what I thought she was but at LEAST she’s not making excuses and covering up for a bunch of pedophiles hot for the local Senate Page Corp!! I mean rrrrreally wtf was Coach Dennis thinking?????

      thank GOD he’s gone

  • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

She was outstanding. The best talking points I have seen yet.

  • Tom

“…But the great majority of Clinton voters have transferred their allegiance to Obama, the poll found, with 11% of Clinton voters defecting to McCain….”

    http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-poll25-2008jun25,0,5763707.story

    • josgirl

What’s that, about 2 million people?
Does that include party defections, people who plan to vote for other candidates?
Folks who will likely stay home?
How many voters does it take to tank an election?

      • Tom

The percentage of Clinton supporters defecting to McCain continues to shrink, so that would seem to be a pretty good indicator that, after the convention, the number will dwindle to single digits.

“Tank an election” – is that what this is all about?

        • josgirl

No, it’s about not electing Obama.
And trends can be funny things.
          Like fundraising trending down.

        • ainnj

No, it’s about making sure that Barack Obama is not the next president of the United States because he is ill-prepared, unexperienced and unvetted; it’s making sure that the democratic party once again becomes democratic; it’s making sure that the misogynistic and racist behaviour, actions and slurs made against members of the democratic party, including some of the most respected members of that party are never EVER repeated again by the elite of the democratic party or the MSM; it’s about what is best for our country, NOT what is best for a party.

          • Tom

Yeah, I get that you don’t like Obama. So what’s Plan B?

            • Deep Truths

Plan B: to ensure that he is not elected by doing a two-for-one deal. Take away one democratic vote for Obama, give that democratic vote to McCain. That’s a two-vote swing.

              • FrescaTastesGood

this is a ridiculous and vile plan. I am ashamed of all of you women. You all make good Republicans- I hope you stay there with your narrow-minded value-abandonment.

      • Karen

This issue is also where are they defecting…
swing states where 11% could really hurt Obama?
These polls are really worthless right now,
it is a long way until November. Lots can happen.

        • Tom

True enough, but the trends favor Obama.

          • Karen

I am pretty sure trends favored Kerry until he got Swift boated.

            • Tom

Until Larry can produce the “whitey” tape, this is a moot point.

              • destardi

Apparently you missed the point where it says that McCain will most likely still win more electoral votes vs. obama.

                nener nener!

              • Deep Truths

Republicans have the whitey tape and much, much more. The only reason the repubs aren’t poring it on Obama right now is that it would sway SDs at the convention to vote for Hillary and their ship would be sunk at the dock.

          • ainnj

Some of us care more about what is right than what is trendy.

          • ainnj

Some of care more about what is right than what is “trendy”

        • http://deleted AnninCa

Bingo, Karen. I watch the state polls. That’s where, FINALLY, the real deal is.

No more split delegate counting. This is winner take all.

And McCain is creeping up in some swing states.

I know, I saw that! “Home of the Panthers!”

lolol — we PUMAS are visiting our kin!

btw, for the protest, I finally got through to the sheriff’s office.

No cars will be allowed in the secure area (ie, Unity!). But there is plenty of parking alongside the road in and out of town, and you won’t get ticketed.

For those who can’t walk into town, there will be shuttle buses from Claremont Speedway and from Mt. Sunapee Ski Resort.

I also heard there was a website, but don’t know the addy. Apparently, they are not “allowing” signs…this is the Obama campaign, not the town!

      We shall see.

Gwen the country is ready for a black president in my opinion. The color of someone’s skin in rather irrelevant in determining whether or not a person is capable of governing.
The problem with Obama is his lack of understanding of the issues that face our country, his inability to tell the truth, his hoodoo economics, his weak defense plan, etc.
I would just really hate to give the impression that the PUMA movement has racial or anti muslim undertones, because that is not how I understand it all.
You could paint Hillary black, and put her in a Madrassa and she would still be the greatest nominee I’ve ever had the pleasure to witness.

  • runtymom

Darragh is an articulate, brilliant spokesperson for PUMA. She needs to make the rounds of all the talk shows, radio, etc. The more people see and hear of her the better. She expresses the anger that many of us feel toward the DNC without sounding “bitter”. Imagine that. She is clearly making the case for those who wish to vote for John McCain OR to write in Hillary OR to just sit this one out. It is after all our right as Americans to do so and she is saying that as PUMA members we are putting our country before party affiliation. Its not that we all hate Obama–though many do– and that is our right as an American. Its that the MSM is trying to push this down the American public throats as just that—we PUMA people are psychotic wingnuts who HATE HATE HATE Obama. Well no, not all of us are psychotic wingnuts, some of us are just wingnuts.
What Darragh points out is we do not believe the Democratic party can win the GE with this candidate–the one the DNC forced upon us. THAT is what should be the focus of discussion in MSM. Will the MSM pick up on that talking point and run with it? Hell no. They will continue to portray the PUMA people as wackos…. and so goes the world.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

I agree. The smart thing that Larry is doing now as well as Just Say No Deal did was to NOT insist on one solution.

We’re grown-ups here. My state, for example, is pretty blue. Obama leads by 12 points. McCain is going to make a run. It’s a long shot. He’s not going to waste tons of money trying. If the Latinos jump on board with him in a real sense, he has a shot here. But it’s a long shot.

When I say I don’t know how I’ll vote, I really should say, “I don’t think my vote will matter. *whew*”

I have the luxury here of NOT deciding, unless I see the race is tightening up.

Those in the swing states? Man, you have my sympathy.

      You are important.

      • Darryl

Yeah same with me, I live in Alabama, so I can pretty much Know (and feel somewhat comfortable) that my state will vote McCain.

  • http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0608/10998.html Read: Obama money machine busted

    http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200806/obama-finance

This is an absolute must read article in the Atlantic Monthly about the history of the internet fund-raising machine that created the “concept” of Obama as an experiment in the use of the net to market and finance a candidate.

It was a phenomemon unfortunately not persued when first offered to Clinton by the gurus in Silicon Valley, yet eagerly exploited by Obama. But it was only an experiment that knew cynically how to market anything, and it just happened to choose Obama, or even worse they chose to market only the “concept” of Obama. No one asked him to be accountable, only to be the vehicle to see how far the internet could be pushed in national elections.

Starting out with the T&A Obama Girl was the first cynical hit reaching out to the anti-establishment lonely guys who respond to anything that jiggles and that was the start of the buzz that ultimately seduced even the DNC and the Superdelegates who had been installed for the very purpose to protect us from fringe suicide missions, but they were the first victims of this Obama marketing scam.

Read this article and pass it on:

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Will do…thanks. I know my son blogs on some of the social networks sites, and most were Obama supporters. A surprising number of Gen-X were not, however. They had the same heated discussions as we see on other sites.

I’m convinced the individual doners will still give, but the kids are wrung out. It’s now up to the latte crowd on that front.

I’m convinced he’s going to do a lot more traditional Hillary-type fundraising, tapping into her group of doners. And he’ll make a liar out of himself again. A lot of them are lobbyists.

Of course, I’m also not at all persuaded that Washington’s problem are lobbyists. The Teacher’s Union is a lobbyist. I fail to see how that’s dangerous. In this respect, I do not subscribe to the left argument that American business should be left out of the political discussion. SBA is a lobby. They represent more women businesspeople than men, btw. Little known fact.

It’s the way the politicians respond to lobby money or the way that it’s been the sole source of money that has changed.

I give Obama credit for that.

      He DID change the landscape.

But it’s sure darn easy now for everyone to do exactly the same. So his advantage is gone already.

      • Kevin

got this just now. Think if I go to a “Unite for Change” House party with a McCain bumper sticker on my truck, they’ll let me in. I do love a ruckus…
        Dear Kevin,

Our unprecedented primary season helped build our infrastructure in all 50 states — not just for Barack Obama, but for all of the Democratic candidates.

Now it’s time to bring all of that energy together around our common goal of change.

Obama for America is launching a nationwide day of action this Saturday, June 28th, called “Unite for Change.” Across the country, Democrats who supported all of the candidates in the primary — and those who are just tuning in now — will come together to focus on party unity and victory in November.

There are more than 3,000 events in all 50 states — find a Unite for Change house meeting near you and RSVP today:

Tearing down what he views as the “fascist” tyranny of the United States, as he has put it, is “the central focus of my life.” Moveon.org’s billionaire, socialist George Soros said of the Democratic Party,”NOW IT’S OUR PARTY, WE BOUGHT IT, WE OWN IT”. Having “bought” the party, Soros wanted the Democrats to pick someone who will allow him to act as its absentee owner.(“I want my ideas to be heard”) He (Soros) wants to place the party formally under the control of the Shadow Party. (a network of big money, political operatives, unions and left-wing grass-roots organizations)

  • Andrea

Wow Darragh! That was an amazing interview! Thank you so much for representing me. I am so proud of everyone that has spoken on TV about PUMA- everyone has done such an amazing job stating our cause and the points that we are trying to make seem to be getting louder and clearer with every interview. Thank you so much!
And thank you Larry for posting the links to the videos- I have stopped watching MSM, so this is where I get my news and seeing a PUMA on TV just makes my day!

  • wodiej

awesome video, she made it pretty clear where we stand.

  • http://deleted imustprotest

Murphy was great and I’m glad to see the PUMA message so well stated on MSM. I know FOX is not the MSM we’d like to see and the anchors do seem a bit condescending when interviewing, but Murphy stayed on point and people out there are listening.

  • Alice Paul

I have not been aware of Ms.Murphy until today but I’m going to sound like the middle aged woman I am and say “I was very proud of how she handled herself!)

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Well, shoot, Alice. I bought a red Miata when I turned 45. LOL*

Sometimes, being a stereotype can be fun. :)

  • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

    darragh, you were great!!

thank you for speaking for us!!

    PUYMA BOOYAH!!!!!!

  • secularhumanizinevoluter

Don’t smoke IN your car. SMOKE your car. When it’s warming up, go and suck on thew tailpipe! It’ll getcha REAL high and taste good too!

  • Bertha

Gwen, many thanks. It is Obots like you who do more to help turn the tide against your messiah than PUMA could ever achieve. Keep up the good work!

  • cheryl

Too bad she couldn’t have been interviewed by FOX right after Nancy Pelosie or with her to actually answer the question by Greta about the Hillary supporters that Pelosi just ignored.

  • GoHillary

I wish though, in the interview she had clearly spelled out that nobomb was absolutely unqualified rather than just saying that we were disenchanted with DNC. That is very vague. It’s like saying we don’t have any problem with nobie except that he was selected. I mean before going on TV don’t our people need to be prepared for what to answer to the most expected question.
    “Why are you doing this?”
Because Nobie is great danger to democracy. Not just that DNC misbehaved. That vastly understates what went on during the last six months. There was blatant sexism, race baiting, intimidation, subversion of Hillary’s campaign that needs to be brought out at every chance we get. Before going on TV, we need to watch Harriet Christian again. Going on National TV and saying some lame thing about DNC doesn’t cut it. DNC is just a tool of the Chicago Cartel now.

    • Hope

Now that the message of PUMA is being heard, I think you are right, it needs to include a coherent and verifiable account of Obama’s inadequeacies. It’s high time low information (which they are, thanks to the media) voters become informed about the Dem candidate.

Oddly, one of the difficulties in creating a list of Obama’s shortcomings is that there is so much to choose from. For newly informed voters to remain tuned in to the message it must be digested in understandable peices. In other words, the truth about Obama is stranger than fiction, it’s almost unbelievable.

  • vee

It is rare to see someone so eloquently state a position in a news channel interview. Ms. Murphy did something else that none of the DNC leadership has been able to do. Stand by an important principle she/he believes in.

I found nothing in her comments that I could not wholeheartedly support. She just made my day!

  • Cat in NJ

Murphy has done what millions of voters would like to do, and she and a few others had the guts to do it … GET UP AND TAKE ACTION … I’m tired of this bullshit … the American voter doesn’t call the shots … we know who does, and I WILL NOT lie down and drink the Kool-Aid. I respect this country too much to allow that to happen.

Obama may very well take the White House, but he’ll never take my spirit.

Here’s to PUMA and the coalition!

  • Deep Truths

It very admirable of the Obamabots to be civil and all. But let’s just be clear hear – both candidates hate each other, and that is reflected in their supporters. We hate you, you hate us.

There is no Party Unity. Both camps like it that way. Although Obama’s camp can fake it all they want about unity, Hillary’s camp could care less. We’d rather watch this party die as is than become a part of this alien BLOB.

  • http://deleted imustprotest

Where was the party unity when Hillary was being attacked with blatent sexist remarks? Where was the party unity when they condoned the ’90s right wing talking points against the Clintons? Where was the party unity when they called Bill a racist? Where was the party unity when they tried to push Hillary out of the race right after Iowa? Where was the party unity when she won big states like Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvannia…..the whole thing was rigged from the start.

  • kat in your hat

    PUMA!

Though, I just want to say that I do not think it is Hillary’s job to unite the party.

Let the stupid dem elites do it, let OBAMA do it…let him EARN something for once.

  • Hmm

She is a very good spokesperson-that said-there are too many group forming and too many pacs and not enough money.

The various local groups should merge and try to become
    influential enough to matter.

I think Obama is getting a little nervous. He has his people all over the streets begging for money. I had to do three backflips to escape one today.

I see another day has passed and the republicans are still quiet. I really wonder if Obama is a trojan horse and they want him to win.

  • framecop

What an idiot. The GOP begged Democrats to give them “EITHER” Clinton or Obama for a reason.

Because neither had a snowball’s chance in hell of being elected President in November.

By the time the Media/GOP finished talking about Bill Clinton’s many affairs since leaving office (which the LA Times and NY Times was sitting on waiting for Clinton to be nominated) and Karl Rove telling ALL THE BUSINESS about what went on in the Clinton White House during the 1990s that no one knows about, Clinton would have lost by at least 10%, still less than Obama will, though.

There’s only one Democrat that the GOP didn’t want to run against in 2004 or 2008, and that was “JOHN EDWARDS,” as they said. Matthew Dowd admitted it after the 2004 election.

Only two Democrats elected President in the last 40 years…Carter and Clinton.

It’s the geography STUPID, not the gonads or the skin color. Every Democrat who lost was a “WHITE MALE”.

    • http://www.wonkette.com N8Ma

Wow “framecop,” you sound completely retarded now, don’t you?

      What a moran.

  • Total disgust

Awesome job Murphy. You make me proud to be a PUMA. YEH!!!!

  • JP49

There is a great article on Savage Politics which talks about Hillary and what she is trying to say without actually saying it to her supporters. You should read it. If she isn’t our nominee then vote McCain. Do not vote anyone else. Because if you vote for someone other else that takes votes from McCain (assuming we cannot get the democratic party to elect the real candidate, Hillary). It is imperative that Obama never win this election. I believe we need to stay on top of this birth certificate issue. The more I hear the more I believe he isn’t a U.S. citizen and therefore ineligible to even be a senator let alone POTUS.

  • PUMA=GOP
  • Don

Darragh Murphy supported McCain in 2000. Here’s link to the FEC search results. http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/qind/

Seems she though so highly of him she gave $500.

“Life Long Democrat” my ass! She’s just another GOP “Life Long Liar”.

    • StrawberrybitesBarky

So, I considerd McCain in 2000. I loved the way he slapped the Religious Nut Jobs around in his own party. He pissed a lot of republicans off back then. He put country before party, not like you and Barky. It’s all about him.

  • Silver

Yet another great interview, and another great representative of PUMA. Have you noticed how intelligent and articulate these Hillary supporters are?? You’ll never catch them with that blank zombie look that so many of the Obama fans show. All of the PUMA supporters have been clear, concise, and make their points extremely well. They’re just fantastic.

EMAILS & ADS LIKE THIS MUST STOP!

Here is an email I received today from a friend who says it came from a woman in Alaska who supports Obama.

Why aren’t more women stepping up to condemn this smear /insult campaign?

The way they are attacking her & her children is a disgrace. I don’ care what your political affiliations are this disrespect should not continue!

    SNIP:

Finally, someone asked about the gorked-out kid. Until two/three weeks before she hatched it in April in the middle of the legislative session, no one knew that Sarah was pregnant. Those of you who have been pregnant can decide how odd that was. It was so odd that it provoked a swirl of speculation that the kid actually is Bristol’s, Sarah’s seventeen-year-old daughter. But those rumors went as quickly as they came. If the kid is Sarah’s, she told the press that she knew from the get-go that it was gorked-out with Down syndrome but, being a Bible-thumbing right-to-lifer, she decided that God wanted her to have it. That story, which as I type is ripping through the evangelical hard-right, will energize the Republican base to McCain’s advantage in a way that McCain never could have himself.

    *********************************************

Note from an Alaska native: “In lieu of responding one by one to the telephone calls and email traffic, as of this afternoon, my view of the Palin situation is as follows:

Sarah Palin is a flag-waving, Bible-thumping, evangelical, right-to-life-promoting, lifetime NRA member, right-of-right-wing wing nut who is a locally grown product of the most reactionary white trash subculture in Alaska, i.e., the Mat-Su Valley.

Most Republicans and Democrats of my acquaintance share the view that, during her two-year tenure, Sarah has been one of the most incompetent governors in Alaska history. She knows next to nothing about the nuts and bolts of state government, the little she does know about it she doesn’t like, and most of the people she has appointed to help her are worse than she is.

But Sarah’s operational incompetence has been masked by $120 to $140 a barrel oil. With that kind of money flowing into the state’s coffers, if they, rather than Sarah, were governor, Bobby Mungabe, Charlie Manson, or the Unabomber would be viewed by rank-and-file Alaskans as rock stars. To cite one of many examples, Sarah has felt so bad about Alaskans having to pay $4.26 for regular when we fill up on Saturday mornings at Costco that, in addition to the $2,000 the state is sending us in October as our share of this year’s earnings from the Alaska Permanent Fund, Sarah is sending every man, woman, child in Alaska an extra $1,200 (at a total cost of almost $1 billion). For that she has received universal acclaim for having had the imagination to craft such a sensible state energy policy.

However, all of the above said, for Barack Obama, Sarah Palin is a very dangerous woman. Not only is she razor smart, but, as a politician, she is as intuitively gifted as Ronald Reagan. Because she is, at every stop on her meteoric rise she has been underestimated. So my advice is that no one, starting with Obama, should underestimate her now.

Like Ron, the hoi polloi love Sarah. And even before yesterday’s bounce, her approval rating here in the subarctic has been an astounding, and absolutely rock solid, 70 to 80 percent. And that approval rating has hardly moved even as she (and hubby Todd) have become entangled in a minor scandal that the Legislature has appointed a special prosecutor to investigate which centers on her misuse of the governor’s office to try to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from his job as a state trooper.

Even worse for Obama, while much of the pundit chatter over the past twenty-four hours has been speculation about whether Sarah can steal away any of Hillary’s cadres, in my view, it is men, rather than women, who like her the most. If that’s correct, and I think it is, if I were McCain, for the next two months I would keep Sarah in a bus and on the road in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, speaking in VFW and union halls to white, working class men who voted for Hillary because they can’t stomach the idea of voting for a quasi-fake black guy.

One last thing. When Napoleon was asked what was the quality he most looked for in his generals, without hesitation he answered, “Luck.” “I don’t need smart generals. I don’t need a ruthless generals. What I need are lucky generals.” True story. I mention that because for more than ten years Sarah has been lucky to an extent that defies the odds of statistical probability. What happened yesterday was more of the same. And while the dice McCain has thrown are still rolling down a very long table, if you watched Sarah’s seemingly extemporaneous performance on the stump in Dayton you saw that there is no reason to believe that her extraordinary run of luck is anywhere close to being over.

    So stay tuned.”

  • ZombieRichardFeynman

I agree that HRC got the short end of the stick when it came to favorable publicity during the campaign. However, HRC and Obama’s political positions are very similar. I don’t see how anyone professing to be a Democrat could possibly change parties and vote for McCain/Palin unless she is a member of a personality cult just like the PUMAs accuse Obama supporters of being.

I will vote for McCain, because he’s NOT george w. bush, because I think he’s his own man (as far as that’s possible in politics).
