New Hampshire Union Leader: “Get A Grip, Obama’s Coming”

Secure your seat belts, No Quarter readers, for this editorial by Jospeh McQuaid of the New Hampshire Union Leader is guaranteed to jolt you from your chairs.

NEW HAMPSHIRE RESIDENTS, grab something sturdy today. Barack Obama is coming and his ability to switch positions on major issues is dizzying. It wouldn’t matter, except Obama wants to become President. If that happens, hold on for dear life.

This is the man who eloquently declined to disassociate himself from his hate-filled friend and pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. His “incendiary” remarks were taken out of context, Obama said. He was like family, like a grandma.

But Obama cooly threw “grandma” under the bus when it became politically advantageous.

This is the man who stoutly defended public financing of the presidential race, until he knew he could raise and spend millions of dollars more by refusing it. And he has the chutzpah to blame John McCain for his own hypocrisy.

Obama professes to believe in a religiously-diverse nation. But he has declined to speak at a single mosque. His staff keeps Muslim women out of camera range and yelps bloody murder if his own middle name, Hussein, or his father and stepfather’s Muslim religion are discussed.

Obama said he would meet personally with the President of Iran, without pre-conditions. But speaking to a pro-Israeli group a few weeks ago, he had changed his tune entirely. Iran, by the way, may now be as little as six months from building a nuclear bomb.

And McQuaid only offers a partial list of Obama’s recent vacillations.  If John Kerry was the Republicans flip-flopper, Barack Obama will be their Tilt-a-Whirl.

lmao. I can’t build on that sentiment, so I’ll just coninue laughing.

I live about 10 miles from Unity, NH and debated about going but the security is really tight and even the back dirt roads are closed off so decided to stay home.
Regardless, I don’t feel any unity and don’t plan on voting for Nobama.

  • Seattle Moss

just a word to all Obamabots.

We are the decider’s in this election.
We have always been the decider’s in General Elections.
Without us your candidate Doesn’t get hired!
FDR/Reagan/Clinton/McCain Democrats and moderates plus the Clinton wing of the party have made a decision on the resumes presented from the two parties.
The DNC employment agency presented us with two choices this year. One who was very qualified ready to lead to take on the other candidate. You withdrew her from consideration and presented us with an experienced Affirmative action candidate with an incomplete resume and questionable associations.
The other resume we have looked at is from a highly experienced war hero with superior past judgments on the grave and dire conditions facing this country. he would be ready to take the job offered from day one.

This year we have decided as the key voting block that decides this election that the democrat candidate doesn’t meet the min requirements for the job.
Please go back and tell your DNC employment office that they should have offered up the better candidate. maybe you should even fire them and start over.

    Senator McCain…

    You get the job!

  • HARP

I`ll second that. Senator McCain, pick up the keys to the White House and report for duty on Jan 20/2009.

  • beebop

Please take the opportunity to read the entire editorial and then scan the comments. Since there are no obamabots posting (yet), it is a good snap shot of how people react to a candidate of the hopey and of “change.”

  • HARP

I think we are gradually winning people over.

Tilt-a-whirls always made me barf, much like Barky does.

I feel more committed to defeating that charlatan now than I did last week or last month or the months before then. Millions of us do. We should do our own polling.

  • kevin

Big surprise, they only want a hand picked audience, no pumas allowed, or muslim women…

  • It’s Not Me

I’m still hoping the Super Delegates wake up by August. That’s our only hope for a Democratic President. Otherwise…it’s President McCain. That’s who gets my vote. There’s nothing that will change my mind. If Hillary isn’t the nominee, the DNC and the DC elites can kiss my typical white ass. This 35 year Democrat is leaving the party. They have until August to right this wrong.

  • It’s Not Me

WOW! I hope Obamarrhoid’s shills read the NH Union Leader! Better yet, I hope the Super Delegates read this! Obamarrhoid is NOT the end all, be all of the Democratic Party and it’s about time the DC elites realize what’s going on before it’s too late.

  • http://deleted imustprotest

Maybe people are tiring of the Obamadrama, poor me, it’s all about me primary season.

  • DoroB

Wow, Mr. McQuaid better brace himself for some angry letters, maybe even death threats, from Obama supporters.

I love the Tilt-a-Whirl comparison. It’s right on!

  • sjc-tx

I HOPE ALL states town newspapers have the same GUTS and tell all!!! Cause we all know folks won;t here about it on the TV!!!

  • sjc-tx

    *hear*

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

    I hope he publishes everyone.

  • Andy

    Good name: nopeyhopeydopey

sounds like he’s in a star wars episode.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Damn, that should read ‘every one of the death threats’. Need more coffee.

  • anonymous

I think we’ve won them over already but they lie to the people doing the polls just like they lie during exit polls.

  • Dawnelle

oh gawd me too! Very dizzy! I much prefer the ferris wheel! ;-)

I have a poll function on my site. I should set it up and post it here. hmm. Good idea.

    back with that shortly

  • http://deleted imustprotest

It is difficult to go around the MSM. And the internet bloggers are being blocked out of their own blogs! The thugs in the Obama camp are really committing cyper terrorism. We may have to go more low tech to get the message out.

  • http://deleted imustprotest

opps, cyber terrorism…sorry. In talking low tech I’m remembering the movie Mr. Smith goes to Washington when the Boss Tweed type character had all the MSM in his pocket and Mr. Smiths boy scout friends back home printed their own newspaper with the truth!

  • roseeriter

I’m sure there is lots of early voters’ remorse.
I remember when the primary started I was very excited about both Hillary and Obama but after listening to too many hopey dopey preaches I quickly tuned Obama out and Hillary got 200% of my attention and money.

  • Dawnelle

    Ok here’s my local poll!

    Just put up!

Please take it if you get the chance!

    Considering 08 Election

  • Andy

I just sent it to every single one in Massachussets
    with a personal letter.

    Please email !!

    Thanks, coup.

    And you go, Joseph McQuaid.

The Obama Myth is coming apart by the moment.

    Sweet.

  • wac for hillary

Great video and great music; who was singing that song? Also, has Obama bothered to do anything as a Senator, other than run for president?

  • TeakWoodKite

    Done :)

  • TeakWoodKite

They have coffee grinders under the bus?

  • Amabo Kcarab

I wonder, can enough seams come apart in the next sixty days?

  • Calypso

Obama McCain “bashers” should remember the “04″ democratic presidential candidate MA Senator John Kerry now an ardent supporter of Obama, asked Senator John McCain to consider being his vice president.

McCain refused, my how quickly Senator McCain has gone from being on a “liberal” democratic list for vice president to McBush, McShame, etc.. A bit of hypocrisy here?

  • Lucinda

And I have to wonder if all of these Obama supporters who bash us regularly would be willing to “get over it” and “fall in line” if the situation had been reversed and Hillary had won the nomination. Hmm? There’s definitely enough hypocrisy to go around.
Great editorial from McQuaid. I love editors who tell it like it is.

  • John

If you listened to Air America Radio between January and May of this year, you know the answer to your question is “no.” Practically every caller to that station told the hosts that they were Obama supporters who “could not vote for Hillary, no matter what.”

And they got very little negative feedback from the hosts. Compare this to the people who now call Ed Schultz and tell him they don’t think they can support Obama. Schultz basically chews them out and hangs up on them.

  • stodghie

i hear a starbuck is set to open next week. of course the crowds. you’ll never get a seat. everyone will be sitting aournd talking about the election.

  • stodghie

    those numbers are mind boggling.

  • mahaska

All I know is that bo and his fellow travellers are getting on my last nerve. Oh, hurry Novenber.

  • mahaska

No wonder it’s quiet here. They are already over at the newpaper site slamming the writer.

  • C.S.

If he has he’s lost the paperwork again!

Can’t you imagine him mislaying classified documents and pushing the wrong button in the Oval Office; wouldn’t know whether to duck and cover or evacuate!

(Let’s all hope he doesn’t decide to bring a gun to the meet and greet dinners for world leaders instead of a butter knife.)

  • Newly Independent

LOL!! @ “If John Kerry was the Republicans flip-flopper, Barack Obama will be their Tilt-a-Whirl.”

    Only a Tilt-a-Whirl is fun.

  • Hmm

I think that instead of a tilt a wheel Obama likes pogo sticks. He strikes me as the kind of guy that would want to climb up on a pogo stick and just go for it- he’s a pogo stick kind of-guy.

    Anyone been to Hillbuzz today?

  • pat

I just watched the video recommended above on “Native Americans Against Obama”. This is an excellent introduction to the Empty Chair at the senate occupied by the Empty Suit. Shame on you, Barack for turning your back on these people! Shame on you DNC for promoting this fraud! And now Barack has the nerve to say that Michele has been brutalized by the media? Gime me a break!

I read Lt.Col. West’s comment that Obama is “creating a crutch for failure” by using Race as an excuse! We must be watchful of these tactics…

    PUMAs ROAR!

    McCain ’08
    Hillary ’12
