Connecting the Insidious Obama and ACORN Nexus

Barack Obama’s ties to ACORN (see Memeorandum) are not incidental nor are they casual. Bill O’Reilly displayed his fundamental ignorance on the matter last night when he pooh-poohed the notion of an Obama tie simply because “ACORN previously worked” for his campaign. O’Reilly acted like this was ancient history. Sorry Bill, but you do not know what the hell you are talking about. The latest saga of ACORN as an enabler of child prostitution, illegal immigration and tax fraud is not new.

The money given to ACORN through one of its front companies–CSI–was not a simple clerical error. The Obama Presidential campaign deliberately tried to hide its relationship to ACORN and funneling almost $1 million dollars to ACORN by using a group with no experience doing the task that it was ostensibly hired to do. The story is pretty simple–it is about Citizen Services Inc., a Nigerian director of CSI living in Minnesota and false campaign financing report.

I first wrote this story last August (see here). We passed this information first to David Brown, a reporter in Pittsburgh, who broke the story publicly in early August. So far the mainstream press has failed to investigate this matter. Here are the key details.

The Obama team gave Citizen Services Inc. more than $800,000 ostensibly for “staging and lighting.” We reported (our own intrepid Eastan MacNeal) the following:

According to Federal Election Commission (FEC) financial disclosure reports filed by the campaign earlier this year, between February 25th and May 17th Obama paid $832,598 to Citizens Services, Inc. (CSI), one of the nearly seventy Not-for-Profit companies registered at the ACORN New Orleans headquarters on 1024 Elysian Fields Avenue [SEE IMAGE OF THE NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS of CSI as well as 20 other businesses.]. CSI now also shares an office with ACORN in Chicago at 209 W. Jackson St., home of the SEIU (Service Employees International Union). . . . According to the director (of CSI), and as found in various disclosure reports from other candidates, CSI specializes in field operations, specifically grass roots organizing for get out the vote efforts. The Obama expense reports list the following payments to CSI: $564,342 for Stage, Sound, Lighting, $138,000 for Advance Work, $18,417 for Polling and $98,451 for Travel/Lodging.

Only one itty, bitty problem. CSI had no track record of performing such services. When the Obama team was confronted with this uncomfortable fact they quickly pivoted and claimed, “Oh, we made a labeling mistake, it was just to get out the vote.” And the media and most of the public swallowed that horseshit without pause.

But that was a lie. How do I know? Because I tracked down one of the Directors of CSI, one Mr. Sunday Oladimeji Alabi. To be precise I called him on July 24, 2008, more than three weeks before Mr. Brown’s story broke. According to one of the documents filed with the State of Louisiana the Directors in 2006 were:

Filing 3
Filed Date: 06/01/2006
Filing Number: 36196988
Comments: ANNUAL REPORT (06)

Officers – As Of – 04/20/2007
Name: ALIBI, SUNDAY
DIRECTOR
Contact Type: OFFICER
Address: 1201 E 22ND ST

EL PASO, TX 79902-3745

Name: LEON, ROSALIE
DIRECTOR

SAN DIEGO, CA 92113-4206

I searched the internet and found Mr. Alabi’s phone number. Mr. Alabi answered the phone and I introduced myself using my real name. But I did tell a white lie–I said I got his name and number from Bob Shrum at the Democratic National Committee. He hesitated. When I repeated that I got his name and number from the DNC he brightened up and became quite chatty. Using the Obama FEC filing as my guide I told Mr. Alabi that I needed to hire Citizen Services to help my campaign with “Staging, Sound, and Lighting.” Without a moments hesitation Mr. Alabi told me, “we don’t do that.” He went on to identify ACORN as the organization that handles those matters and he told me to contact Marc Seiden (he gave me a cell phone number for Mr. Seiden, which is a District of Columbia cell phone). Are there any legit journalists interested in Mr. Seiden’s phone number? It is still working as I write this.

Note that Mr. Alabi did not take time to correct me and tell me that he and his group only did “get out the vote” work. He directed me to a person he says is affiliated with the ACORN office in Washington. So who is Eric Seiden? What was his role with the Obama campaign? Who did he talk to in order to ensure the “get out the vote” effort was effective.

Why did the Obama team select CSI/ACORN for a critical role in getting out the vote? Who on the Obama team recommended that CSI/ACORN had the requisite expertise? Let’s remember that Obama was in a longshot position of winning the election when they turned to CSI and sent them almost $1 million dollars. Given that Barack Obama and David Axelrod are so damn intelligent (Did you know that Barack is the smartest person ever to be President? I heard that on the radio.) are we to believe that they just made a blind choice completely devoid of any research or back up testimonial? I don’t think so.

If you want to understand why ACORN offices across the country are able to give crafty advice on avoiding taxes, fooling the police and setting up child prostitution businesses then you must first understand why the campaign of Barack Obama gave almost $1 million to an organization with no track record in doing the electioneering work they were hired to do.

Anyone out there willing to go get these answers?

UPDATE: As I reread my piece I realized I did not make it clear that I had the conversation with Sunday Alabi in July 2008. The story about CSI had not broken in the press yet. A friend of mine forwarded this to Andrew Breitbart. Unfortunately, Mr. Breitbart does not appear interested in following up. Too bad.

I remember that post. I love it when the dots come together, don’t you?

Larry, I saw that segment on Bill O’Reilly last night. He’s an apologist for BO. He kept saying “But, but, Obama never worked for ACORN” and “shouldn’t we give him a pass – I mean, it was 13 years ago.” He really wants to play both sides with this administration. Doesn’t want to upset That One, but wants to keep his ratings, too. He talks out of both sides of his blowhole.

You’re right on – there’s a huge STINK coming from this big pile, but I don’t see the MSM wanting to get dirty. They might not be invited to the White House Correspondence Dinner next year.

  • http://www.DailyPUMA.com Alessandro Machi

Even the Jon Stewart show, when skewering the mainstream media about being scooped about ACORN by two young filmmakers with 3,000 dollars to spend, had to say that no connection existed between ACORN and the caucus fraud that went on during the 2008 democratic caucus contests existed.

The media is quick to say that ACORN from 2008 was squeaky clean even if now they are bad, it appears to be the only way they will cover the ACORN story now is if they absolve themselves from the voter fraud that went in favor of Barack Obama and against Hillary Clinton in the 20008 democratic contest.

  • tzada

Glenn Beck is tying it all together. I remember you bringing it out ages ago Larry.Wish people would have listened to you. As for the fringe media, (once know as MSM) they are going to be outed. Even Jon Stewart came out against them.

This ACORN mess is just one brick in the wall. We all know that they already are regrouping and changing their name.

    And who will “investigate” them?

THE SOUND OF CRIME: ACORN-AFFILIATES, PROFITEERS & SYMPATHIZERS TO INVESTIGATE ACORN

I was listening to the radio on the way home and heard something that was interesting.
Now I am not one to defend Obama at all.
Considering Netanhayu’s secret trip to Russia. Do you think this announcement concerning the missile shield in Poland and Czech, is part of a deal between Israel/U.S./Russia that assures that Russia will not in any way defend Iran if Israel goes after their nuclear facilities?

Hey Larry, long time no blog…aside from that interesting bit of info, how do you feel about the First Lady travelling to Denmark to pimp for the Olympics coming to Chicago? I remember No Quarter doing some great dot connecting awhile back involving public housing, contracts to cronies, failure to complete those contracts and said public housing being plowed under to make way for a possible Olympic. Making certain Obama friends very wealthy…are your writers going to do some follow up work?

Actually a rumor is now circulating suggesting that the White House may have made a deal with Russia to let GE have business dealings inside Russia in exchange for the US backing off the missle shield and other agreements that the previous administration had made with Eastern European countries.

Is that “the deal” you were thinking of….?

No. Your scenario is more in keeping with Obama.

The scenario I heard is way above Obama’s pay grade. It would have you believe that there was a deal where Russia would do nothing to help Iran and allow Israel to strike Iran’s nuclear sites IF the U.S. backed off its commitment to missile shields in Poland and Czech.

O’Reilly totally disgusts me when he bends over backwards for Obama and his minions, making excuses for the current Administration, etc. so much so that I can barely watch O’Reilly’s THE FACTOR anymore. However…. recently I have come to observe that O’Reilly is cagey about how he does this “giving Obama the benefit of the doubt” thing…

So I really think that O’Reilly is trying to be the one FAIR AND BALANCED guy — because God knows that Hannity and Beck are not — of course Hannity and Beck make no bones about the fact that they are commentators, not journalists — but just sayin’ ….

If Fox wants to claim to be Fair and Balanced they’ve gotta find at least ONE person who is willing to “play that game” and I guess O’Reilly has stepped up and volunteered to do it. Makes sense I guess, even though I don’t agree with his positions at times.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/09/barack_obama_and_the_strategy.html

Perhaps you should consider posting the whole article now that more readers are becoming aware of the shady behavior of the principle players. It’s getting old witnessing people having “Ahaa!” momments when this information has been available for some time. Maybe in light of the current unbelievable revalations at ACORN, people may now be willing to consider sources and facts that they’ve previously been averse to.

  • S – Angeltour

Larry, why not get your info to the two young ‘journalists’ that went underground and got the current videos and broke the story…

Israel needs no deal to strike Iran. All they need is proof that Iran has nukes. Their very existence is at stake, they’ll not ask us for our blessing, nor will they worry about what Russia might do. When you’re defending against a two on one attack, you’re forced to charge the man with the ball first, and hope he screws up.

The deal with GE sadly may be a more plausible explaination for today’s abomination. Obama has now demonstrated that he can be pushed around by Putin, and shown an undependable streak to our allies. I’m curious how much Hillary was involved with this disgraceful, Obama trademark, weak-kneed vacillation. Sorry folks, it has to be asked.

Thank you LJ, and for the reminders or for some, first time news.

Also, in your excellent work, you also showed how Project Vote, whom Obama DID do “organizing” with is also a branch of ACORN, as they have different groups in different states.

  • Just Me

Acorn has been a predator since its inception in ’70.
Rathke was merely an opportunist who correctly saw the money to be made following the enactment of the civil rights act, after the work was done, and capitalized on it. He was never a part of the actual civil-rights movement, merely a clever parasite.

I was executive director of a Southern civil rights organization, very much involved with HUD and urban renewal, when Rathke and Acorn, following their successful Arkansas con, appeared on the scene, deciding to go national.

We had a standing committee that did nothing but write grants for local self-help groups and projects, through HUD, in 3 states. We did not take a dime of the grants, in fact, we added contributions to them. There were some wonderful programs in place and working. Localized, and filled with pride.

Without our knowledge, Acorn sidled in, like the mafia, in various locations, and offered to be an “umbrella” for vulnerable believers. They promised to write the grants, administer them, and “make them grow in multiples through their connections, regarding investments”.

What they did was siphon off all funds, and in essence shut down some great programs. One in particular being what had been an absolute model for all, run by a magnificent, extremely hard-working, order of nuns.

Ultimately, we were able to pry away most that had succumbed, revitalizing those that we could, and returning to local control, ie accountable, local Community Action Agencies.

However, our success in thwarting them in our area, did not even slow them down elsewhere. As is evident by their current size, power, and influence. And, as would be expected, their corruption has grown proportionately.

  • Onofre’s arm

That would explain a lot. Either that, or he is unknowingly being given kool-aid injections.

Larry, I’d so love to see you on O’Reilly’s show and Beck’s show as well. O’Reilly and Fox gained so many new viewers during and after the primary season of 2008 and they don’t want to lose them (except for Beck). Maybe Beck will take up your challenge to “… go get these answers…” O’Reilly is too busy tending his ratings garden and he sees what the advertising boycott has done to Beck’s rosters of advertisers. But this story, which you brought to the surface, needs to be told. I’d love to see you on both of those shows. Integrity is in such short supply among our public figures … you just might bring it back in style Larry.

    Larry

I took your advice and sent your article to an investigative journalist. Follow the money…..

FYI – I found this article about Soros – Echoes of Obama’s agenda…

GUIDE TO THE GEORGE SOROS NETWORK

“George Soros is one of the most powerful men on earth. A New York hedge fund manager, he has amassed a personal fortune estimated at about $7.2 billion. His management company controls billions more in investor assets. Since 1979, his foundation network – whose flagship is the Open Society Institute (OSI) — has dispensed an estimated $5 billion to a multitude of organizations whose objectives are consistent with those of Soros. (The President of OSI and the Soros Foundation Network is Aryeh Neier, who, as Director of the socialist League for Industrial Democracy, personally created the radical group Students for a Democratic Society in 1959.) With assets of $859 million as of 2005, OSI alone donates scores of millions of dollars annually to these various groups, whose major agendas can be summarized as follows:

promoting the view that America is institutionally an oppressive nation
promoting the election of leftist political candidates throughout the United States
opposing virtually all post-9/11 national security measures enacted by U.S. government, particularly the Patriot Act
depicting American military actions as unjust, unwarranted, and immoral
promoting open borders, mass immigration, and a watering down of current immigration laws
promoting a dramatic expansion of social welfare programs funded by ever-escalating taxes
promoting social welfare benefits and amnesty for illegal aliens
defending suspected anti-American terrorists and their abetters
financing the recruitment and training of future activist leaders of the political Left
advocating America’s unilateral disarmament and/or a steep reduction in its military spending
opposing the death penalty in all circumstances
promoting socialized medicine in the United States
promoting the tenets of radical environmentalism, whose ultimate goal, as writer Michael Berliner has explained, is “not clean air and clean water, [but] rather … the demolition of technological/industrial civilization”
bringing American foreign policy under the control of the United Nations
promoting racial and ethnic preferences in academia and the business world alike …”

Larry, thanks again for your informative article. I hope that a full investigation needs to be done in Congress investigating ACORN’s fraud and criminal activity.
I know this is off topic but just watched the repeat broadcast of Hannity’s special for 9/17/09. Hannity went to the San Joaquin Valley in Ca. – what once was a “rich farm belt” not only for the state of Ca. but the entire nation and even other parts of the world. It broke my heart to hear that there is up to 40% unemployment in this once fertile food basket and thousands of people are standing in food lines for food.
Apparently the irrigation water has been shut off for this land due to a federal court order and that is the reason that this fertile and productive land is drying up and turning into a dustbowl. According to Hannity – it’s the environmentalists who are responsible for this – those in San Francisco who want to protect a fish that is a type of minnow called the “smelt fish” because it’s an endangered species and larger fish like salmon feed on it.
Nancy Pelosi apparently has blocked 6 or 7 times any attempts in the House of Representatives to get the water back on for this blighted valley. These people are the “salt of the earth” and don’t want government “hand-outs”. They just want their water turned back on so that they can work and feed their families.
Larry, could you or one of your writers check into this matter? I think the readers of NQ need to be aware of this.

I’ve noticed that Bill O’Reilly often says things defending B0. I don’t think he is in any way a sympathizer with 0. I think he is afraid of looking like an 0bama hater or racist. He wants to appear even-handed. He will go after 0 with a vengence, only to back off in defense of him in the next segment, often showing ignorance in the process.

O’Reilly is one of those conservatives that prefaces his zingers with how intelligent 0 is or mentioning his “brilliant” campaign. I’ve written him numerous times to tell him the “brilliant” campaign was not 0′s brainchild nor was it David Plough’s, Robert Gibbs or David Axelrod’s. But the four of them have received the undeserved credit. Has it occurred to anyone that Plough did not receive an 0 job? We’ve heard nothing about him since the campaign.

The campaign was a sinister, multi-faceted effort by the DNC, the Dem leadership that secured the fundraising/social networking company, Soros’ MoveOn.Org that created the caucus fraud that stole enough delegates to put him over the top, the solid AA voters/leaders with their race-card playing/baiting teams, and the rotten-to-the-core News media – all independent efforts with their own financing that dove-taled together to create the impossible dream for these groups. They ALL had one thing in common – they hated George Bush. These were not campaigns for B0 – he simply showed up at the right time, at the right places and became the benefactor of this insatiable itch to unseat the republicans at any cost.

  • FranSC

Acorn was responsible for voter fraud, registering the same people many times, etc. Perhaps they were participants in the caucus fraud, but the organizers for the caucus fraud was Move-On.org. The Texas Democratic Party Chairman is on video tape saying in utter disgust that the democratic party was now owned by young, white men. Move-On.org also bragged that they now own the democratic party.

Bob Beckel said this week, “Acorn could not organize a two-car funeral.” Well, while that was amusing, why have they received millions, perhaps billions of tax-payer dollars??? Perhaps this is the same question being asked in Larry’s article- why did the 0bama campaign pay Acorn nearly a million dollars when they were not capable of doing the work specified? Why, why?

  • FranSC

    Agreed.

  • FranSC

O’Reilly was most impressed with himself that he was able to get both Hillary and B0. He still refers to the B0 interview and how surprisingly taken he was with him and his (here we go again) intelligence. I saw the interview and still don’t get why he was so impressed – I thought 0 did rather poorly myself. After his Hillary interview, which was a very spirited give and take, he gushed to her that it was the best interview he had ever done.

Since Hillary’s interview with him, I have not heard him say one negative word about her, thankfully. I think he tries to leave a foot in the door so he can have them as guests again.

  • Dbb

What do you mean Obama was a “longshot” last August when the Democrats always seemed far more likely to prevail? Was that because the whitey tape was going to be dropped any day now? Yeah, I guess $831000 is “almost” a million, especially to someone trying to pump up this piece of trivia – either way it’s a molecule of a drop in the ocean in the aggregate money spent on the campaign. Finally, why don’t you call Mr. Seiden yourself, Larry? Surely the premium cell phone charges are worth whatever breathless revelations you dig up.

  • Onofre’s arm

I think you have some good and valid points, but when you atribute the whole effort to a hatred of George Bush, you’ve fallen for the propaganda. Bush wasn’t running against Obama, McCain was. No matter the depth that they hated Bush, he wasn’t going to be around no matter what happened. Bush was simply used as a scapegoat and demon that was the cause of EVERY evil experienced at the time. And regardless of the fact that he would soon be out of the picture, he became an effective symbol to wail and bitch about. But if they wanted to unseat Republicans so badly, they could have accomplished that by voting for McCain. No, this last election wasn’t as much a hatred of George Bush as it was a disturbing acceptance and invitation of statist concepts. People really DID want change, radical change, but they were not sophisticated enough to realize that the change they voted for might drag us all down into a dismal fascist/socialist state. They were so fat, happy, and spoiled, that they weren’t the least bit skeptical of Obama’s silly promises of endless milk and honey. So they did something the founders never counted on or believed that a perceptive American public was capable of, they elected the first America hating president. God help us.

Let’s hope we are done with ACORN. They are an umbrella organization and have received funds under many, many different names. Someone suggested today that they would close down and reopen under a different name, using the same tactics. They can’t even figure out how much tax-payer dollars they’ve received because they are many organizations. One CA group has written the heads of the congressional committees that pay out the money, asking for all names of the groups under ACORN.

Remember, ACORN was out of the stimulus package after all the outrage, but they are still set to get millions of the stimulus money anyway – just under different names. That’s why the democrats voted to take them out – they knew they would still get the money. That’s probably the same reason the House voted today to no longer allow ACORN to receive funding. They know they are still in there.

It is hard for those who are not “current events junkies” to read and absorb and understand all of this “political stuff” but after reading and rereading a few times, those with enough intellectual curiosity will begin to understand…

Again great article. Thanks again for the link.

It is funny that as the advertizing boycott of Beck’s show on FOX is underway, his viewership is climbing alot. No matter which company decides to leave his show, there are many others in line to buy advertizing on it you bet.
Heck, I find myself watching. After all, this is a big story, the type you would have seen on 60 minutes years ago. They did the hidden camera thing all the time. Now, we only see the hidden camera used for “To catch a predator” on MSNBC. 60 minutes has become People Magazine in disguise.

  • elizabethrc

O’Reilly is concerned with the rise of Glen Beck’s popularity. Last night he had the affrontery to state that he and Beck had been instrumental in the Acorn investigations. He’s visibly jealous of Beck’s investigation, which was Beck’s work and exposure, O’Reilly’s. O’Reilly is trying hard to shift the spotlight away from Beck and onto himself. In the process, he is making himself look smaller than his ego driven self already is.
Never a huge fan of O’Reilly, I had gained respect for him the past 6 months, but seeing how he is leaning so heavily toward excusing Obama, praising Obama, are causing me to rethink. He’s also subtly (or not so subtly) attempting to demean Beck. Beck just smiles and doesn’t argue because he knows what he knows.

  • Just Me

Eh? If something illegal was done or suspected done, why not let the states attorney investigate and/or FEC rather than the press?

Great recap article, Larry. And don’t I remember being appalled at a televised speech before the inauguration to ACORN where Obama said they would be involved in all his financial planning and decisions as president….or something like that?

Wasn’t O’Reilly the only one that got a one on one with his Oliness during the campaign.

And hasn’t Obama now refused to give any interviews with FOX? Even on his next Sunday media blitzkrieg?

Could Mr. O’Reilly be hoping that he may be the one and only FOX talking head to get an interview?

Oops sorry, that’s just me doubting people’s motives again.

I wonder if these two journalists have a future or has their exposure put them in danger for a good long while?

O’Reilly is a pompous self-absorbed tool. I can’t believe his show has lasted this long. When he first appeared on the scene, I watched him. He was more conservative, he had more of a center, if you will. But his programs soon became all about him, and unwatchable. I’m not surprised to learn of his equivocation re:POTUS and pettiness regarding other hosts. Maybe BOR should just move over to the MSM.

Anyone out there willing to go get these answers?

Don’t look to dinosaur media, they’re MIA.

It shouldn’t be hard to keep an eye on ACORN or any other name they take, they are easy to find, just look in the poorest areas in any city.
KBR-Halliburton on the other hand, is in a really big blind spot:
“KBR, the Army’s largest contractor in Iraq and Afghanistan, is linked to the vast majority of suspected combat-zone fraud cases that have been referred to investigators, as well as a majority of the $13 billion in “questioned” or “unsupported” costs, the Pentagon’s top auditor said…”

The archived radio recordings with Joyce Rosenwald and Bob Bickel (both are legal researchers and historians) (at http://www.riseupforamerica.com/ ) contain some very interesting and important historical explanations of how we have come to the point of our loss of freedom and loss of true representation. These people are trying to craft a way out of this mess we’re in and they plan to disseminate this information to the widespread public (especially 912 project folks) in the near future.

I read this great recap post last night, showing how Obama’s peeps scrubbed his web site of their lies.

Obama campaign scrubbed its website to hide ACORN lies

    http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2009/09/breaking-acorn-bombshell-4-due-from.html

The lied about Obama’s association with ACORN, got busted, scrubbed it, and posted a cleaned up version, very misleading.

I’ve noticed O’Reilly defending Obama lately, more than usual. I got the feeling he was trying to appear very balanced, and not *out to get* Obama. Makes it harder for critics to attack him as a racist if he applauds obama at times.

He was flat out wrong with that race baiter, Marc Lamont Hill, the other day.

Russia has said that they would provide Iran with defensive capabilities against a potential Israeli strike, so Israel/U.S. do have to deal with Russia.

The question still unresolved was what was Netanhayu doing in Russia and what was his meeting all about?

My answer about Hillary is that if this is a carefully crafted deal to appease Russia and allow Israel to strike Iran then this is well above Obama’s pay grade and would involve Hillary and Gates.

If this is just blatant appeasement and a continuation of his appeasement foreign policy then it did not include Hillary.

I think O’Reilly has been warned not to go after obama “too hard” or he may jeopardize his position at Fox as the most watched pundit on that station AND, of course, the large amount of money he gets, which keeps him in check.

Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are the ONLY Fox news guys to let out all the stops on obama in going after the truth.

Unfortunately, Beck is so dramatic in his presentation of his excellent exposure of the real barack obama and his questionable associations, that the MSM, which protects obama at all costs, can simply lable him a nutcase and not to be taken seriously. Hannity has always been an over-the-top conversative that can also be easily dismissed because they will say he is totally biased against any democrat.

It will be up to the people to take the facts presented by Beck and to look into them further, as well as spread them around for others to review and analyze and keep the pressure on in uncovering the truth.

From Discover the Networks, some interesting trivia here.

ACORN is a grassroots political organization that grew out of George Wiley’s National Welfare Rights Organization (NWRO).

In 1970, Wiley sent Rathke to Little Rock, Arkansas to begin organizing NWRO chapters in the South

Sensing that his days at NWRO were numbered, Rathke formed a new organization in 1970 called Arkansas Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). The name was later changed to Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, but the acronym ACORN remained the same.

Former ACORN members and other leftist critics often describe ACORN as a cult – a movement which exploits its own members while demanding of them a fanatical, quasi-religious devotion.

O.K. here’s the link, lest I quote the whole thing. It is very interesting.

  • Diana L. C.

Last thought: I now want to know who among the private sector are the biggest contributors to ACORN so we can get them to “defund” ACORN and its aliases. Also, how do we make sure ACORN is not funded by states or towns/cities?

  • Kathleen Wynne

    Docehelder,

Sounds like the ACORN cult is very similar to the obama cult. Perhaps, while working as a community organizer and during his tenure as a lawyer for ACORN obama learned the value of turning people into fanantical, cult-like followers. When he has no further use for them, like ACORN, he thrown them under the bus.

How can people be so blind?

  • Amy

‘On February 25, 2008 (as has been previously reported and independently verified) I received a telephone tip from a man claiming he and another had accessed communications between David Axelrod, (left) (Obama for America manager at the time) and current Sr. White House Adviser, and Dan Parisi, owner whitehouse.com (internet porn producer and all around scum). The tipster stated in this communication David Axelrod and Dan Parisi were arguing over Parisi’s failure to post reports of Edward Ira Gelb stating I had failed (what turned out to be a rigged polygraph arranged by Parisi at the request of/paid for by Obama for America) fast enough for David Axelrod and Parisi telling Axelrod he would not put up anything further until he received the payment in full of the agreed upon $750,000.00.

When I first reported this the Obots and others dismissed it as me making things up. I forward the phone number and name to then Chicago Tribune Reporter John Crewdson who confirmed to me he was told the same as I was. The tipster advised me to immediately obtain the FEC campaign finance reports Obama for America was required by law to filed in April and look for payments not to Parisi (left) directly, but to another organization capable of paying Parisi.

April 15, 2008 No Quarter reported that Citizen Services Inc. in New Orleans, LA was paid $800,000 by Obama for America for services that CSI did not provide.’

Actually, Dbb, it’s closer to $833,000, but who’s counting, eh? Certainly not you, if you don’t think $833,000 is “almost” a million. I wonder: what percentage of one million would $833,000 be? 75%? 85%? 90%

Can you hear me now? Just sayin’.

It’s a “molecule of a drop in the ocean in the aggregate money spent on the campaign.” Well, certainly Obama’s campaign, I’ll grant you that. That fact, which you seem to think works in Obama’s favor for purposes of your argument, isn’t really complimentary to Obama, though, in the “aggregate” sense, since he had to spend the largest amount in history to buy the Oval Office, since he had no record, no experience.

Finally, how do you think Larry knows that Seiden’s number is still working? Calling himself, perhaps?
You know, Dbb, I think that Kewl-Aid is leaving a bitter taste in your mouth.

Tammy, I gave up on the other networks long ago. You know network “journalism” has become a comedy when Charles Gibson said he didn’t know about ACORN–3 days after the fact!

The evidence and information was all right there last summer, but yet no one even bothered. And they wonder why readership and viewership are shrinking. Bill O’Reilly down plays the internet as a source of powerful news breaking information because he still has his ratings. But the other network knows they are becoming irrelevant.

Much as I am loathe to recommend anything that comes from David Horowitz, thanks for that link.

I am curious as to WHY ACORN’s VOTER FRAUD and other Criminal Acts aren’t mentioned by any news people. I haven’t even really heard Beck mention that they’ve had 30 convictions from ACORN and investigations in now 15 states.

This is from the “discoverthenetworks” article:

ACORN drew national attention during the 2004 election campaign, when its get-out-the-vote activists were implicated in numerous reports of voter fraud, especially in the swing states of Ohio, Colorado, Missouri Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Minnesota. Election crimes allegedly perpetrated by activists from ACORN and from its front group Project Vote included, but were limited to, the following:

    • Falsifying thousands of voter registration forms, either by registering the same person multiple times or by registering deceased or imaginary people

    • Hiring canvassers to collect registration forms from Democratic voters, while destroying those of Republican voters

    • Registering convicted felons, even in states where felons are ineligible to vote

Longtime observers of ACORN were not surprised to see this organization surface at the epicenter of vote-tampering schemes. These reports barely hint at the full range of corrupt activities in which ACORN has indulged. From its inception, ACORN has worked hand-in-hand with corrupt labor unions, and its tactics closely resemble those employed by labor racketeers.

Presenting itself as a vehicle for “community organizing” of poor and working-class people, ACORN enriches itself through an array of money-making methods ranging from Jesse Jackson-style corporate shakedowns to fraudulent solicitation of federal grants – schemes which, in many cases, exploit the very people ACORN claims to be helping.

Former ACORN members and other leftist critics often describe ACORN as a cult – a movement which exploits its own members while demanding of them a fanatical, quasi-religious devotion. “They’re a curious cult, that’s what ACORN is,” comments Bob Bland, a self-described peace activist and solar architect who has worked with ACORN on specific projects. “ACORN carefully selects issues to build its name. It won’t coalesce with other groups.”

  • b mathews

Are you asking could Soros’s agenda destroy Obama?

BO and Soros’s agenda/ideology are the same. BO can’t tell the truth because he’s out to radicalize our capitalist system and spread our wealth.

His HC address to Congress was a flop. In a typical Alinsky move, he changes course and moves on to the topic of immigration. This week, he spoke to a Spanish group about his plans to legalize the status of illegal aliens. This would give them unfettered access to the American HC system. Of course, this is all paid for with no new deficits…..LOL

BO main agenda is to keep his power! What better way to achieve that goal as 12 million aliens become citizens.

Onofre’sarm, I couldn’t agree with you more!! Thank you for shoring up my thoughts. Like you, I adamantly believe that George Bush was a scapegoat and not the real reason for dems’ dogged determination to win any more than I believe the DNC, Dem leadership, MoveOn.org were that taken in by B0, other than the fact, yes, he was initially impressive, but more than that, his minimal experience made him more pliable than Hillary. In addition, they had correctly figured out the AA angle that worked like a charm to help achieve their overall goals.

For AA’s, it was indeed about electing the first AA POTUS, an almost impossible dream. The AA angle, however, was used in a most dispicable manner that the average voter didn’t begin to understand. I do not blame the AA voters – it was their leaders that learned from the best how to play very dirty, gutter politics.

As a former left-of-center liberal democrat, the 2000 election was a devastating blow. I was literally in pain over Gore’s loss for the next 4 years. I was disappointed about 2004, but nothing like 2000.

It was a different story with the radical 0bama, his radical friends, and their anti-American philosophies and agendas. Who could have predicted this group could move this easily into the positions of power they now can claim.

I believe the groups mentioned above were determined to do whatever it took to right this perceived wrong. They saw in 2000 the courts gave no help and the lesson learned was, “All’s fair in love, war and political campaigns.” And, furthermore, they learned, “if you can successfully steal an election, it’s yours. Nobody can take it away from you.” You simply have to be street fighters as the Bush people were in 2000.

What ensued was the dirtiest, the most unethical, immoral, illegal, methods ever devised in this country before.

What a horrible legacy for both republicans AND now, democrats.

You’re right, he did interview obama during the primary, but then again, Hillary went on Fox too and I’m certain obama didn’t want to look “afraid” to face o’reilly.

Important note: I watched o’reilly last night and he did say that the White House called him and told him to lay off Ayers. So, my point was correct that o’reilly is kissing up to obama lately because he is being “spoken to” by the White House about what subjects he can and cannot talk about.

The only guys that are defying the WH are Beck and Hannity and I believe they are still here because the WH is convinced it can label them as nutcases.

no way? really? lay off ayers? what was their reason?

i think bill o is trying to appear more centrists, and avoid putting himself in a position to be called fringe.

i did hear him last night say that the left misinterpreted his comments about the public option, and he did not say he supports it. he supports private competition.

I’ve been amused by O’Reilly’s demeanor for some time; he seems to be trying to project an impartial good-natured persona who sees both sides of the issues. I think this is in part a reaction to Herr Olbermann’s frequent angry attacks on him. To use a historical analogy, I think he is trying to play amiable Ronald Reagan against Keith’s angry and hostile Jimmy Carter. And, judging by comparing the ratings between the two, he’s winning that match-up handily.

    Larry

Your blog broke perhaps the best story on the attempt to cover the ties between Obama and ACORN. I commend you for not just being the first, but being the most consistent. I do want to thank our dear late friend Nancy (navy vet) for pushing us on this issue.

The idea of ACORN pimping the numbers for the Census, to raise stats and create more liberal D congressional districts bothered me. I am glad we put forth the effort to add to the collective that may end up ending their participation in spending our non-partisan tax money for their partisan agendas.

    Well done, Mr. Johnson.

    Eastan,
Couldn’t have done it without you either, my friend. And I second your comments re Nancy. She played the critical role in getting Glen Beck to pay attention to the story.

  • andyp

I am also proud of you, Eastan and Larry. We are indebted to Navy Vet for the work she did in uncovering this corruption and the little funeral parlor in New Orleans that Glen Beck keeps coming back to. I am glad she had the support of both of you.

I saw her on Glen beck and was happy that she got some recognition as you and she worked so hard on this back before no one noticed.

Larry. I will get you my new numbers for contact. I fished last night, with no moon, under the starlight. I heard fish jumping to the left of me in the river so I cast to the right. I did not want to catch fish. I just wanted an excuse to sit by the river.

I will get back to writing in a few weeks. I am sorry that almost all I predicted came true. Maybe my next piece will be one that is wrong. I am hoping for some good news out of Washington. I have not communicated with Jay for a while. He came out against the 300 page version of the health bill. Maybe if I get the new house settled, that we just moved in to, soon I will return his call and talk about it.

I think the long-time dems are not ready to go stupid. I think we can talk to them.

Bill Oreilly is either playing devils advocate for Obama or is planning to invite the Prez to his show.

Why didn’t Mr Breitbart show some interest?

  • Ladydawnelle

I concur and also would like to know the skinny on “not so bright” bart?

I am in shock. What an amazing lady I was blessed to meet Nancy in Denver.

    RIP Nancy!

I remember Larry’s post on this last August.

    I Have a Question.
Why do ACORN, Project VOTE, The NEW Party and Citizen Action share the same address?

    88 Third Avenue, Third Floor
    Brooklyn, NY 11217

(Was this Brooklyn office the same office that the pimp sting video came out of?)

Onefre’s_arm: You nailed it, partner. ^5s. I have in my hand at this VERY moment, a hard copy of the fall, 2004 article by Toni Foulkes which was published in Social Policy, an academic journal. Foulkes states unequivocally that BARACK OBAMA TAUGHT ACORN HOW TO ORGANIZE, AND ACORN, IN RETURN FOR THOSE LESSONS IN COMMUNITY ORGANIZING, HELPED OBAMA BY MOBILIZING POLITICAL SUPPORT FOR HIM.
BO was a Marxist then; he is a Marxist now. Why do Democrats like Bill Nelson and Jim Webb continue to support him? Why are they still in the same political party with him? Obama is a Marxist; he is corrupt; he stole the Dem nomination from HRC; and he secured the Presidency as the first puppet of George Soros, the de facto world dictator. Soros WILL have his way: The American economy will be crushed and brought to Soros’ heel. Why did otherwise good and patriotic Democrats go along with this? Because they figured that they would be empowered forever and ever after health care socialism, cap and tax, and the permanent admission of millions of new immigrants. God help us indeed.

  • Beez_Waxing

O’Reilly is a dumbass and a blowhard who NEVER lets his guests talk. The left knows how stupid he is when they consistently brand him a “conservative.” Excuse me, but is this the same BO’R who called for punitive “windfall” taxes on “big oil” companies? As every conservative knows (and some liberals too), corporations don’t pay taxes. They simply pass them on to consumers as per unit costs of the goods or services the corporation provides.
