The Blood Money of Barack Obama’s Money Men

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usA little boy is dead because Barack’s key fundraisers cared more about profit than a safe environment for children. While his mother watched him to be sure he was safe, Curtis Cooper, a three-year-old boy riding his tricycle, was crushed to death by a heavy iron fence that suddenly fell over on top of him at a housing project run by Obama contributor Cullen Davis — whose family received huge government subsidies as well as a $1,000,000 grant for the properties from the Woods Fund’s board, whose members included Barack Obama and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers.

CBS2 reports (via NoQuarterUSA channel):

CBS2 Chicago also reports:

Curtis’ aunt Lisa Springfield said, “It just crushed him all up, his whole face.”

According to witnesses, five or six men rushed to the boy to try to pry the heavy fence off of him. An hour later he was pronounced dead at Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usCullen Davis, the son of Obama’s first boss and major benefactor Allison Davis, is a beneficiary of Obama’s prominent effort to privatize the management of public housing in Chicago. As Un coup de des wrote here yesterday in “Boston Globe Exposé, Part I: Introducing Cecil Butler, Obama’s West Side Slumlord Patron,” the privatization of this housing — while highly profitable for investors like Cullen Davis, Allison Davis, and the now-convicted Tony Rezko — has left residents with chronic plumbing failures that led to sewage throughout units and backing up into kitchen sinks, “collapsed roofs and fire damage,” rampant rodent infestation, vacant units, and the displacement of thousands of low-income residents because the buildings are either uninhabitable or have been destroyed in order to “gentrify” neighborhoods.

Furious neighbors reacted last night, reports the Chicago Tribune:

A 3-year-old boy was crushed to death Friday evening by a large, rusted steel gate at the Cabrini-Green housing complex, prompting a crowd to gather and hurl accusations of mismanagement at property managers.

“How many accidents happen over here because of failed inspections,” screamed Willie J.R. Fleming, a resident and a director with the Coalition to Protect Public Housing. “There’s no accountability, there’s no oversight of this.”

Barack Obama and Mayor Daley backed the privatization schemes and personally interceded to ensure that THEIR cronies made money off the privatization. Here’s how DEEPLY INVOLVED Barack Obama is in these schemes that contributed to little Curtis Cooper’s death, via the Boston Globe’s “Grim proving ground for Obama’s housing policy“:

  • “As a state senator, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee coauthored an Illinois law creating a new pool of tax credits for developers.”
  • “As a US senator, he pressed for increased federal subsidies.”
  • “And as a presidential candidate, he has campaigned on a promise to create an Affordable Housing Trust Fund that could give developers an estimated $500 million a year.”

An outrageous example of the privatization profiteers is Tony Rezko. Reports the Boston Globe‘s superb investigative report (a must-read in full):

Antoin “Tony” Rezko, perhaps the most important fund-raiser for Obama’s early political campaigns and a friend who helped the Obamas buy a home in 2005. Rezko’s company used subsidies to rehabilitate more than 1,000 apartments, mostly in and around Obama’s district, then refused to manage the units, leaving the buildings to decay to the point where many no longer were habitable.

Campaign finance records show that six prominent developers – including Jarrett, Davis, and Rezko – collectively contributed more than $175,000 to Obama’s campaigns over the last decade and raised hundreds of thousands more from other donors. Rezko alone raised at least $200,000, by Obama’s own accounting.

You’ll note that on his Web site describing his business, Obama donor Cullen Davis, the owner of the property at which little Curtis Cooper died, touts that his company offers “visionary and strategic leadership to Urban Property Advisors (UPA) plus a number of companies and ventures impacting change in urban environments.”

Apparently, Mr. Davis’s “vision” doesn’t include close inspection of old, rusting heavy iron gates. From CBS2 Chicago:

As for Regional Property Advisers, the firm which has been inspecting this CHA property for the past two years, it contended that due diligence was exercised.

Spokesman Ronald O’Neil said, “We visually check the property on a regular basis and I can tell you that in this particular instance, there’s a gate that has a chain on it and it has been chained up and it did not fall over.”

That’s of small comfort for Curtis’ family. They expressed skepticism over that explanation.

“They didn’t do anything to that one. I guess they thought because it wouldn’t move. The gate wouldn’t move, so I guess it was rusting out, that’s why it wouldn’t move. Then all of a sudden, he touched it and the whole dang gate fell on him,” Springfield said.

Note: Un coup de des plans a series of reports on this privatization scheme that enriched Barack Obama’s allies and benefactors but left Chicago’s poor in disgusting, uninhabitable or dangerous housing.

PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON SAYS OBAMA CAN KISS MY ASS!!!

Wow did I hear that right?
    read the whole story:

    • BluDawg

      Ha!

WJC does not owe the plastic jesus anything.

0buma must learn the toes you step on going up will be attached to the feet kicking your ass on the way back down!

      • Elizabeth

OMG that is just too funny. And boy does BHO need to finally be taught some lessons.

      • C.S.

Finally! A politician with the guts to say what we are all saying. I admire his tenacity in not bowing down to The Obama; but then we knew he had the guts to face anyone, anywhere, anytime, from the way he did his job for We the People back in the 90s.

      • mahaska

There’s an old saying, be nice to the people you pass on the way up, you’re going to see them again on your way down.

    • http://www.hillaryunited.com Greco

That Bill Clinton… what a class act he is! Such respect he brings to the U.S. presidency, even today. “Kiss my ass,” indeed.

      • GoHillary

This, coming from a nobama-zombie whose leader raised the middle finger in the middle of a debate with a woman. You got to be kidding about bringing up class!

        • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

I hear Mrs. Clinton can get rough with her language also.

Mercy. America just dodged a bullet.

          • Disgusted

LOL, Are you kidding me? We don’t want no swearin in the WH. Will Obama be bringing his crack pipe to the WH? You are a plethora of useless information. Just the fact that you happen to have the link of the Clintons calling someone names is rather pathetic. Feel free to add this comment to your web page. When you are done with that go get some fresh air, mow a lawn or something.

          • C.S.

I’d rather hear “rough language” from her than watch Obama’s obscene rap performance; or do you think only undercover black men understand Obama’s little act?

(Let you in on a little secret; foreign leaders understand enough to be insulted by it, too.)

          • Judy

Yes, it’s much less obscene to accept large campaign donations from a man whose negligence and greed led to the death of a small boy.

            • james

Obama, as well as all the others you list, have accepted large campaign donations from convicted felons. They’ve all given the money back, or donated the money to charity, when they’ve subsequently discovered who they were taking money from.

My only point is that there’s generally a presumption made by fair-minded people that the politicians in question didn’t initially recognize the evil.

Except with Obama. For some people, with Obama, the presumption is guilty until proven innocent. He’s expected by some to counter every passing allegation with evidence proving what he didn’t do. When he can’t prove the negative, the allegation is added to his list of presumed sins.

Making that observation doesn’t mean I unquestioning believe he’s done no wrong. I doubt if there’s a politician in office who’s done no wrong. Or a single voter, for that matter.

              • Disgusted

Obama knew going in who these people were. Anyone who lives in Chicago is well aware of these people. So your finding out LATER story doesn’t wash. He gives the money back when WE find out. Not when HE finds out. Big difference. Also none of the other people campaign on the “new kind of politics” that Obama does. Don’t make statements if you don’t want to be held accountable. You see now that’s exactly the old Washington politics that I am against. However when it comes to corruption Obama seems to be in his element.

                • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

Exactly right. How many times does james have to hear “that’s not the man, woman, child or dog I knew” before he gets a clue that Obama’s just lying. These crooks know what they are getting when they open their checkbooks. After getting them all the government money their little slumlording hearts desire, Obama doesn’t ever bother to check on whether they are living up to their obligations in maintaining the buildings because he doesn’t care about that — he just doesn’t want the money to stop coming.

              • GoHillary

Besides, is it not a little late after he used all that money to become a senator.

You take a bribe, then you go to a restaurant and have a nice meal and when you are caught, you vomit and expect that as a compensation for the bribe? WTF?

I am sure he wishes that he could pay back the 175K or whatever, after he has now raised millions. And also pay the previous owner of his house the money that he should have paid and not rezko.

                It doesn’t work that way.

          • Karma

Oh, so supporting racism with tens of thousand of dollars is ok from Obama.

But foul mouth accusations and your delicate sensibilities are all upset?

            LOL…good to know.

I wonder if you are a real black man not many real black folks on here just idiots pretending to be black. I would rather have the cussing in the white house rather then cracksmoking baby selling and lord whatever else the Obamas participate in. Michelle is one ugly cow. Man she cannot even run her own house how is she going to run the White house. I wonder how she feels when she hears such rude statements. I wonder if she thinks its ok to hate someone due to her race as she has done with Hillary. Well Michelle this Country is going to give your husband a sound ass whipping and I will celebrate this great victory thankful that the disaster called an Obama presidency was averted.

            • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

Throwing mud at the Clintons is the only thing the Obamabutts have at this point. They’re just trying to distract us from the more important story — Obama’s criminal associates just caused the death of a young, innocent black child. All Obama and his thugs care about is the money. I wonder how his AA supporters feel now that they see what resulted from Obama getting a huge amount of government money for one of his white slumlord cronies.

              • wodiej

I’ll tell you what they think-just like the white thugs, they don’t care. They want a black man for President they don’t care what a pathetic loser, fraud and thug he is.

      • hank48188

I think all you Obamabots need to understand that BILL CLINTON was THE ONLY successful DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT in the last 40 years. The problem with the DEMS now is they are run by far leftys, like Donna Brazile, Coward Dean and Nancy Pelosi, they picked the most radical DEM they could find. These people set the primaries up for Obama’s advantage, in three States had both a DEMOCRATIC Primary and caucus, they gave the Delegates based on the caucuses instead of the more DEMOCRATIC primary.

      • wac for hillary

Hurray for Bill Clinton! It’s about time someone told Obama what to do with his arrogant, lying carcass. Clinton has done more for the disadvantaged in this country and around the world than Obama ever would. To Obama, the little people are simply there to be used and discarded as he sees fit.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

Agree. He has no obligation whatsoever to support someone who trashed him the way Obama did.

He’d be a fool to do so, even if Obama has a “conversation” with him.

      • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

Let’s see, on the one hand Bill Clinton says “kiss my ass.” On the other hand, one of Obama’s criminal buddies, by failing to maintain a building that he was able to purchase with our tax money, has caused the death of a young black child. And which one of these are you expressing outrage over? You Obamabutts are as scummy as your Messiah.

        • Jack

How come the crooks who get rich off Obama are always white? Does this make Obama a racist?

          • Judy

The people who get rich off Obama are not always “white”. Valerie Jarrett has done very well for herself (see Boston Globe article).

Remember what BO said to Rendell? Something like: “We don’t need the people, just the checks.”

Hmm, how truer a statement about BO’s character can you get? This is one time I find him being honest about what he is really about, $$, $$ and more $$.

      • apishapa

I guess he could “brush his shoulder off” or give him the sneaky bird, like Obama did to Hillary. Or maybe he could act like Michelle, she has been such a great example of class in the last few months. “Scratch his eyes out”?

Yes, I know Obots think that rolling over and wagging your tail like a submossive dog is how a class act behaves, but in real America, standing up for yourself and those ideals you have stood up for decades is class. And I’ve been saying for weeks, Bill CLinton needs to channel his inner Cheney. He’s not running for anything. And he needs to force Obama ro apologize. If Obama was a man, he would not need to be told that attacking the only two term President in 50 years was not a good move.

        • apishapa

I meant two term Democratic President.

Sadly, Bill is speaking from painful experience as the primary reason Obama is even where he is today is because of those that Clinton angered during the 1990′s. I fully support Bill’s position and am grateful that he is the one member of the party who really has nothing to lose by speaking the truth.

    • s. hall

valsthewoman — I love it — Good for the Bigdawg. Bill Clinton was the First Black President AA’s loved him and Obama destroyed that — Clinton will never forget. I believe that Hillary is giving Obama her tacit support because she was threatened that if she didn’t — the Party would put a primary challenger against her. If it was me I would say to the Democratic Party screw you. I’ll become an Independent which is what I did. But Hillary has to do what she feels is right.

      • McBush

By your estimation Hillary is a disengenuos coward. Afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Admittedly it’s not just you who believes this. It’s the prevailing feeling here at Repub central. It’s funny how you all heap upon Hill and Bill all that is good, then in the same breathe you excuse her cowardice, her lack of integrity as something “she had to do”. What a farce.

Hillary and Bill have spent their lives not only talking the talk but walking the walk on civil rights and human rights.

I think for Hillary she will do what she must to be able to continue her work on issues. And if that means staying in the Senate well the issues are more important to her than her own needs.

Sorry if you just are too full of hate and can not see that.

          • McBush

I don’t hate Hill. But you condemn her with your own words. “she will do what she must” Your words not mine. That implies that she doesn’t mean what she says, she just says it to stay in power. These are the same criticisms you apply to Obama. However, when it’s Hillary, she’s somehow Heroic and altruistic in her personal ambitions. But hey this is your dream, your fairytale, you’ll write the story whatever way makes you feel good.

            • Obama_is_WEAK

            • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

It’s amazing what you Obamabutts choose to criticize people for. Hillary, unlike Obama, has never presented herself as the second coming of Christ or pretended not to be a politician.

Obama has used his political influence to obtain tax funds for one of his slumlord buddies whose grossly negligent maintenance of his property has now caused the death of a young black boy.

Which one of his slumlord buddies would Obama appoint Secretary of HUD if the crooks and thugs behind him succeed in getting him “selected” President?

              • McBush

Marcy you’re not doing a very good job of advocating for Hill. lol

Hillary, unlike Obama, has never presented herself as the second coming of Christ or pretended not to be a politician.

Which is to imply that she never claimed that she wasn’t a liar, or flip flopper, or panderer. lol Hey I never said I wasn’t a crook so that makes it alright. lo lol

                • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

You, not I, are equating being a politician with being a “liar, flip flopper or panderer.” I can understand how you would think that since you are an Obamabutt, and The Messiah has practiced lying, flip flopping and pandering to a high degree never seen before in any country at any time.

However, while realists are not surprised when politicians turn around and work with a former opponent, there are some candidates so exceptionally and unequivocally unsuited to be President that not even the rather tepid endorsement of Hillary can get us to vote for him. And that is why in January, you will be referring to President McCain; and Obama will be back in the Senate crying in the cloakroom with his girl groupies Claire McCaskill and the other Lady Senators for Obama and contemplating the ruins of his (and hopefully also their) political career.

                • http://deleted AnninCa

            • Karma

              McBush,

She has worked within the Democratic party for years. If she is an Independent she isn’t working within that system to support the change she has spent a lifetime on.

If by your estimation she should quit the party and run Independent to retain some version of credibility only you define as such. It seriously undermines her ability to run in the 50 states and excludes her from participating in the political debates. And is almost a guarantee that the MSM will ignore her as a Presidential candidate, as they have most Independents.

Not everyone cuts and runs when things don’t go their way. It is a sign of character for her to remain in her party and fight the good fight within the Democratic party and the Senate.

Once again, it is a weak argument easily negated by the reality of Presidential campaigns, the MSM, and retaining her power within the Democratic party and the Senate for the benefit of her state and others, when she returns.

And just to give an example of how pedantic your argument is. How often do you think Lieberman is invited to the Democratic strategy meetings now that he is an Independent? And that is your version of what Hillary should do, put herself outside the Democratic power structure? LOL

        • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

her cowardice, her lack of integrity as something “she had to do”.

Maybe you better go back for reprogramming if that’s how you Obamabutts are describing Hillary’s support of Obama. Such gratitude.

What she really is doing is showing Obama how a person with class acts in the face of adversity. What he and you Obamabutts are showing us voters is the lack of integrity or decency which has been and continues to be the hallmark of him and his campaign.

You don’t have very good comprehension of subtle communication cues. I have a friend in Europe who has been out of the loop but saw the Unity show–he could tell without the background that it was a farce.

You’re entitled to your opinion. We’ve all got one and a belly button, too.

You’ll never convince me that Hillary Clinton wants Obama as president. That’s an opinion that makes me wonder about your ability to discern reality from fiction.

            • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

I think Hill really MEANT what she said

Good for you, Bushy. But then again, you judgment is somewhat suspect since you are supporting the unqualified, unelectable Obama for President.

And I am not attributing any nefarious motives to Hillary or calling her a liar or any of the other accusations you have made up from your own imagination. I simply believe that she is doing what she needs to do to continue to be able to adequately represent the citizens of New York in the Senate. Or maybe she’s just waiting for Obama’s campaign to completely shatter under the weight of corruption surrounding it. It really doesn’t matter; my opinion of her has not lessened because Obama and his patrons were successful in stealing the nomination.

But there are now for all practical purposes only two people left in the race, and I’m voting for the qualified one — John McCain.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

She made a promise to work her heart out for the winner, and she will stand by her word.

Odd old-fashioned idea there..and one that I personally respect.

But I bet you will find her words quite well chosen.

She will yell, “Yes We Can.”

          That’s about it.

          • Hope Floats

She will use the opportunity to promote her own agendas and keep herself on the radar until the convention. Don’t expect her to say much about Obama except that she still considers herself a Democrat and supports the nominee.

    • Fred C. Dobbs

Agreed. For my vote, both cheeks, at high noon in the Lincoln Memorial.

    • Chicago Joe

Take a look at this which reports on the whitewash of this story by the Chicago media. And why is the Cullen Davis-Obama connection not being brought up in the mainstream media? Has anybody seen any coverage of this?

  • http://IthinkIfeel... Tricia Spiegel

This is a tragedy and there will probably be more like it. I have seen videos and photos of these hell holes that Rezko and his ilk, so many of whom were Obama’s early supporters, put up and then ran off with the money.

That little kids have to live like this when the money was supposed to be spent to help keep them in safe shelter is an outrage.

How could Obama let this happen? Did he ever even drive around his district to see what was going on? Did he ever check up on the items he voted for? Or did he just not care?

I have spent a lot of time in Chicago, and it isn’t that difficult to get around in–lots of traffic, but its doable!

    • s. hall

tricia — Obama let it happen because the only people he cares about are those who write him checks. Anyone who votes for Obama will have to remember that Obama cares only about feathering his own nest.

      • beebop

Say what you will about George Bush not being a good business man. He only lost “money” for “wealthy oil investors,” and never left working and working poor Americans to live in hell holes.

    • wac for hillary

I wish Obama and the rest of his corrupt entourage would have to live in the tenements they have neglected. And to think Obama calls himself a Christian and an advocate for the people. He is worse than pond scum!

      • mahaska

I come from Chicago and let me tell you, never mind the rats, the roaches are so think in the projects, you can walk across the floor on them. When you turn on a light your wall all pick up and walk away. They are making fortunes off peoples having to live like that.

    • Chicago Joe

Obama was always running for the next office, so he never was much of a public servant. I am still stunned he got this far by doing so little. It is a shame!

  • http://dakiniland.wordpress.com/ Dakinikat

More of this Rezko business and the profiteering off of poor folks has to come to the light of day. Obama should be ashamed of the blood money he collects from these folks.

Senator Obama does not care about poor black people. He’s only interested in profiting from the government contracts that abuse them.

    • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

More of this Rezko business and the profiteering off of poor folks has to come to the light of day.

I know! Maybe we can get Oprah to do a show about it. Surely this might be considered as important as “how to lose those last five pounds” or “how to get your closets in order with all those shoes in there.”

  • roseeriter

I have a 3 yr old grandson and if something like that happened to him I don’t know what I’d do. Greed and power seem to be far more important to those Chicago thugs and politicians responsible for that neglect. Obama may think he’s ‘far’ enough away that none of it sticks to him, much like Bush and Cheney think they’re not responsible for all the innocent Iraqis deaths, but most compassionate reasonable people know otherwise.

    • beebop

The DNC is in Chicago now. It will stick ….

      • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

If there is any justice, it will stick. But with the MSM in the tank for Obama, who knows? I can see the next Keith Obamaman’s special commentary — How Hillary Clinton killed a young black boy in a Chicago slum.

The only solution to the mess we’re in is for every voter to realize that if the MSM says it, the opposite is probably true (and then turn the bastards off — forever).

McCain ’08. Hillary ’12. Stephanie Tubbs Jones ’20. Chelsea ’28. Obama never.

    • pasmalltowngirl

How can it not stick to him. My God, he is in the middle of all this.

It was his district, he was the one getting money for these scumbags, he was the one getting campaign contributions from these same scum bags.

For him to tell the public that he DID NOT know the condition of these properties, is an out right lie.

He does NOT care about the poor, the black, he only uses their despair for profit for him and his scumbag associates.

For anyone who is going to believe his lies about not knowing the conditions, just like not knowing the real Rezco, Wright, etc etc., surely do have blinders on.

In his short time in Chicago, WHAT has he done to help the people in his very own LITTLE district.

Who is going to take and be held responsible for the death of this beautiful 3 yr old boy.

If he CAN NOT even protect and help improve the lives of the people in his very own LITTLE district. How in the hell is he going to protect and improve the lives of millions and millions of people across our BIG country.

His children live in a mansion. The children in his LITTLE distict live with rats and sewage. One of these children in his LITTLE district just died living in these deplorable conditions.

The people who are supporting Scumbag Obama better wake up. He doesn’t care about you. He doesn’t care about your children. He has proved that.

If you think that Scumbag Obama is going to improve your life, you are sadly mistaken.

The death of this innocent boy is the icing on the cake. The media and all of his supporters better NOT give him a free pass on this.

If he can’t take care of the children in his own LITTLE district, I sure as hell don’t want him taking care of mine !!!!

They may not be able to trace any of this money directly to him, but his enabling allowed these slimebuckets to benefit and line their own pockets.

The press has given him a free ride up to now and I am wondering when it will all kick in. Obama has some serious explaining to do yet he gets by under the radar.

He was either one of the most indifferent politicians to serve that area or one of the most corrupt. You choose.

    • s. hall

PJ — I would like to hear what Obama has had to say about this horrendous situation which he helped create with Rezko. I guess there would be more chances of seeing pigs fly. Obama is another politician who doesn’t feel our pain — he flies over it.

If Obama does manage to hold on to the nomination and does get elected, we have to take a very close look at his pick for VP. Obama will not finish out his first term. He will be indicted and, like former vice president Spriro Agnew, be forced to resign.

      • McBush

If Obama does manage to hold on to the nomination and does get elected

Whoa, whoa there Jim. You’re going off the reservation. Are you implying that O has chance of winning the election. That’s treason here at NQ. The general talking point here at NQ is that he has NO chance. The repubs will do him in with the whitey tape in the fall, he’s not a US citizen, Rezko indictment,he can’t carry x state, or y state, etc. etc. etc. Better go back and get those marching orders from secret squirrel.

But more than two weeks have passed since the Obama campaign adopted the suspect, uncertified image of a purported birth document published by a left-wing blog Daily Kos, and nothing certified and nothing on paper has since has been forthcoming.

This prove they’re not as sharp as journalists as they think. Daily Kos took the birth certificate from the Fightthesmears website, not the other way around!

            I am so impressed.

        • Mandelay

You know, Larry Sinclair isn’t mentioned on the Obama “Fight the Smears” site either. Does that mean Larry’s story is true? No Rezko… No Larry Sinclair …. No Ayers and Dohrn …. is all that true?

          • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

Wonder how the “fight the smears” site will handle the death of this child? Rather than manning up and taking responsibility, you know Obama will somehow try to blame the Clintons.

        • beebop

You have no sense of outrage of course for the senseless death of a three year old, right?

        • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

I don’t blame you Obamabutts for trying to get the conversation off on these rather entertaining side issues.

However, the topic at hand is the death of this innocent child, which resulted from neglect by one of Obama’s slumlord cronies and the fact that Obama had used his political influence to funnel our tax money to this guy, later receiving large donations from him, his family and associates.

Obama gives to the rich, then receives from the rich; but somehow the poor tenants’ living conditions never get any better. I think Oprah needs to do a show on this, if The One can fit it into his busy schedule. It will give him a chance to explain how it’s Hillary’s fault, or possibly one of his aides, or old white Granny.

          • mahaska

It makes me mad to see how greasy, and overfed that slumlord is. Oh god, please let there be a hell.

Thank goodness Democratic voters decided to turn that page.

            • beebop

If that’s the case, why did they donate so much money to get Mr. Empty Suit the nomination then? Don’t you think they find him easier to beat and the entertainment value must beat out the Clintons as well ….

Isn’t it funny that you Obama zombies keep using Republican talking points when it comes to Bill and Hillary, yet start convulsing when we Hillary supporters disparage Obama in any way whatsoever?

BTW. Way to promote unity! I’ll certainly vote Obama now!

          • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

“Unity,” Dean, doesn’t mean letting personal attacks go unchallenged.

This website is something new and distressing in our politics: a political movement wholly driven by spite and a desire to destroy a candidate personally… even though his policies are in accord with those of the candidate you claim loyalty to.

            • Dean in Mi

Are you the same UBM that used Republican talking points that were used back in the 90s as a personal attack on a sitting President? Hmmm. Seemed like they were trying to destroy Bill personally back then.

You may be different than other trolls that come here in that you can use 3-syllable words every now and then, but the fact remains that Obama and his supporters fired the first shot. Or don’t you remember the post NH discussions of the Bradley effect?

              • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

I witnessed the first use of “the Bradley effect” in this campaign: It was the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson on MSNBC.

You guys quite conveniently blame Barack Obama for every item of loose chatter from every TV talking head. That’s not fair, and it’s not the reality.

Meanwhile, the embers of Democratic self-destruction being stoked here are the GOP’s only hope of winning in November. I hope this fever breaks and you guys come back to your senses and focus on what’s really important.

And guess what? Hillary Clinton will remain one of the most powerful women in America.

I AM focused on what is important. Democracy.

I don’t think pulling your name off of a ballot, in lockstep with your party’s wishes, is an indication of “change”. It certainly doesn’t promote democracy. (I’m not even going to mention the theft of votes in this state.)

As for unity, I believe if Obama’s supporters HADN’T been so adamant in their derision of Hillary and her supporters, then we may have found some common ground. Unfortunately, I believe we never will.

You may have turned a blind eye (and ear) to what was being said about Hillary, but I didn’t. Every time I heard or saw something that was blatant (“cackling” comes to mind, amongst others) I mentally supposed that person was talking about a woman close to me. That’s when I got pissed, that’s why I’m here, that’s why I won’t give up or let up.

                    • Karma

LOL…and Obama thanks you for not researching his record.

So, how do you explain Obama’s 20 pro-war votes that either fund the war, support those who lied to get us into war, or those who profitted from war such as Halliburton?

                      A PRO-WAR RECORD

Then there’s the matter of his actual policy and political record. If Obama is such (as many “progressives” seem to need to believe) an “antiwar” candidate, why has he offered so much substantive policy support to the criminal occupation and the broader imperial “war on terror” of which Bush says O.I.F. is a part? Here are some highlights from a summary of Obama’s U.S. Senate voting record recently sent to me by the Creative Youth News Team (CYNT 2007), a progressive African American advocacy organization:

“1/26/05: Obama voted to confirm Condoleezza Rice for Secretary of State. Rice was largely responsible…for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent victims in unnecessary wars…Roll call 2”

“2/01/05: Obama was part of a unanimous consent agreement not to filibuster the nomination of lawless torturer Alberto Gonzales as chief law enforcement officer of the United States (U.S. Attorney General).”

“2/15/05: Obama voted to confirm Michael Chertoff, a proponent of water-board torture… man behind the round-up of thousands of people of Middle-Eastern descent following 9/11. By Roll call 10.”

“4/21/05: Obama voted to make John ‘Death Squad’ Negroponte the National Intelligence Director. In Central America, John Negroponte was connected to death squads that murdered nuns and children in sizable quantities. He is suspected of instigating death squads while in Iraq, resulting in the current insurgency. Instead of calling for Negroponte’s prosecution, Obama rewarded him by making him National Intelligence Director. Roll call 107”

“4/21/05: Obama voted for HR 1268, war appropriations in the amount of approximately $81 billion. Much of this funding went to Blackwater USA and Halliburton and disappeared. Roll call 109 ”

“7/01/05: Obama voted for H.R. 2419, termed ‘The Nuclear Bill’ by environmental and peace groups. It provided billions for nuclear weapons activities, including nuclear bunker buster bombs. It contains full funding for Yucca Mountain, a threat to food and water in California, Nevada, Arizona and states across America. Roll call 172 .”

“9/26/05 & 9/28/05: Obama failed and refused to place a hold on the nomination of John Roberts, a supporter of permanent detention of Americans without trial, and of torture and military tribunals for Guantanamo detainees.”

“10/07/05: Obama voted for HR2863, which appropriated $50 billion in new money for war. Roll call 2 .”

“11/15/05: Obama voted for continued war, again. Roll call 326 was the vote on the Defense Authorization Act (S1042) which kept the war and war profiteering alive, restricted the right of habeas corpus and encouraged terrorism. Pursuant to his pattern, Obama voted for this. .”

“12/21/05: Obama confirmed his support for war by voting for the Conference Report on the Defense Appropriations Act (HR 2863), Roll call 366, which provided more funding to Halliburton and Blackwater. ”

“5/2/06: Obama voted for money for more war by voting for cloture on HR 4939, the emergency funding to Halliburton, Blackwater and other war profiteers. Roll call 103 .”

“5/4/06: Obama, again, voted to adopt HR4939: emergency funding to war profiteers. Roll call 112 .”

“6/13/06: Obama voted to commend the armed services for a bombing that killed innocent people and children and reportedly resulted in the death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi… Michael Berg, whose son was reportedly killed by al-Zarqawi, condemned the attack and expressed sorrow over the innocent people and children killed in the bombing that Obama commended. Roll call 168 .”

“6/15/06: Obama voted for the conference report on HR4939, a bill that gave warmongers more money to continue the killing and massacre of innocent people in Iraq and allows profiteers to collect more money for scamming the people of New Orleans. Roll Call 171 .”

“6/15/06: Obama, again, opposed withdrawal of the troops, by voting to table a motion to table a proposed amendment would have required the withdrawal of US. “6/22/06: Obama voted for cloture (the last effective chance to stop) on the National Defense Authorization Act (S 2766), which provided massive amounts of funding to defense contractors to continue the killing in Iraq. Roll Call 183.”

“6/22/06: Obama again voted for continued war by voting to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (S 2766) for continued war funding. Roll Call 186 .

“9/29/06: Obama voted vote for the conference report on more funding for war, HR 5631. Roll Call 261 .”

“11/16/06: Obama voted for nuclear proliferation in voting to pass HR 5682, a bill to exempt the United States-India Nuclear Proliferation Act from requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954. Roll Call 270 .”

“12/06/06: Obama voted to confirm pro-war Robert M. Gates to be Secretary of Defense. Gates is a supporter of Bush’s policies of pre-emptive war and conquest of foreign countries. Roll Call 272 ”

“Obama’s voting record in 2007 establishes that he continues to be pro-war. On March 28, 2007 and March 29th, 2007, he voted for cloture and passage of a bill designed to give Bush over $120 billion to continue the occupation for years to come (with a suspendable time table) and inclusive of funding that could be used to launch a war with Iran. Roll calls 117 and 126 …Obama’s record shows a minimum of 20 major pro-war votes…”

Wow. I might have worded things a little differently than CYNT at times, but that’s a damning bill of indictment.

Obama’s intra-Democratic political record also defies those who insistent on wrapping him in an antiwar flag. In 2006 Obama lent his celebrity and political finance assistance to neoconservative war Senator Joe Lieberman’s (“D”-Connecticut) struggle against the Democratic antiwar insurgent Ned Lamont. Obama supported other mainstream Democrats fighting genuinely antiwar progressives in primary races, collaborating with Democratic muscle man Rahm Emannuel’s campaign to marginalize “peaceniks” within the party (see Sirota 2006, Silverstein 2006 and Cockburn 2006).

In a November 2005 speech to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Obama rejected Rep. John Murtha’s (D-Pa.) call for a rapid redeployment and any notion of a timetable for withdrawal. Obama advocated “a pragmatic solution to the real war we’re facing in Iraq” and made repeated references to the need to “defeat” the “insurgency.” This language meant continuation of the war (Ford and Gamble 2005).

Earlier that same year, Obama shamefully distanced himself from his fellow Senator Dick Durbin’s (D-IL) forthright criticism of U.S. torture practices at Guantanamo (Street 2005; Cockburn 2006).

And he still refuses to foreswear the use of first-strike nuclear weapons against Iran (Gerson 2007). As Kucinich pointed out during last night’s debate, this is what Obama’s comment that “all options are on the table” in regard to Iran really boils down to: the potential first black U.S. President is willing to seriously consider the launching of a thermonuclear attack on that country. Debate participant Mike Gravel (a left former U.S. Senator of Alaska)was thinking of that horrific possibility when said the following about the leading Democratic candidates (Obama included of course) last night: “these people scare me.”

His campaign sent out a memo instructing and encouraging the race-baiting slander of the Clintons. He is responsible.

And we are focused on what is important this November — getting John McCain elected and keeping the unqualified, unethical Obama out of the White House.

                • Hope Floats

When one of Obama’s surrogates or someone in the media made an offensive remark, then Obama would (a) agree and say the Clintons’ comments were “unfortunate” or (b) accept it like he did when he sat quietly in TUCC all those years. Some leadership.

    THE RING

Once upon a winter on the Southside
Frankie made a snowman in the road
Patty’s mother wouldn’t let him outside
Recently the gangs had lost control

    Chorus:
    The Ring
    The Ring
    Can you hear them ring

Kids were being shot at in the playground
Drugs were being peddled in the halls
Patty kept a double lock and heard sounds
On the balcony outside his window walls

    Chorus

Frankie came to Patty’s on Sundays
To play inside his third floor catacomb
Then one day Frank’s momma said we must pray
Today your old friend Patty won’t be home

    The Ring
    The Ring
    Can you hear it ring
    The guns
    The guns
    They are echoing

Now Frankie is a copper on the West Side
Guarding all the Patty’s from the ring
But how do you stop a bullet from the outside
How do you protect the Patties from the ring?

The Ring. The ring. Can you hear them ring?
The guns. The guns are echoing.
The ring. The ring. Can you hear them ring?
    The bells. The bells..

    Can you hear them ring?

Two things all American should be able to count on — access to health care and a safe environment in which to live. Howard Dean must be very proud of his part in stealing the nomination for a candidate who has demonstrated he cares about neither. Kerry has admitted that under an Obama administration universal health care is DOA, and Obama’s loyalty to his slumlord buddies shows he cares nothing about the conditions in which their tenants must live.

  • Mandelay

      • IL/TXDem4Clinton

Funny that this child also lived in Cabrini Green. I have written before about Cabrini Green in other blogs. About 10 yrs ago, Obama and his thugs in IL offered money and transferred their trash (drug induced killers) to small towns 80 miles south of Chicago. My home town of Streator, IL was a receipiant of them, and still have them. They trashed the housing they were given to live in along with two of them killing my brother’s best friend in front of his father’s meat market by beating him to death he was 38 and a father of 2. My brother is a cop in Houston, TX. Five years ago, another one hi-jacked a close friend’s car with her in it and dragged her to her death. She was 45 yrs old. These drug nuts are being arrested every day in LaSalle County, IL. What do you say Obamabots? Obama’s fine work in the Illinois Senate.
As for Bill Clinton —You go Bill, Obama can kiss my ass too, he’ll never get my vote, but McCain will if Hillary is not the nominee.
Someone had mentioned Donna Brazile in an earlier post, did anyone ever look up the Dukakis campaign? Seems little miss Donna Super mama Delegate has a little baggage too. “Dukakis’ campaign suffered a setback when staff member Donna Brazile resigned after she spread rumors that Bush was having an extramarital affair with Jennifer Fitzgerald, who had been his secretary throughout the 1970s (the relationship of George H.W. Bush and Jennifer Fitzgerald would be briefly rehashed during the 1992 campaign).[28][29]” Read up on the Dukakis presidential race. I wrote in Al Gore because I could not stand to vote for Dukakis or Bush. Seems Donna starts things, I am waiting for her to leave the DNC just like she said she would if the Super Delegates pick the nominee. Well Donna, what are you waiting for?

      • Hope Floats

Obama has the blood of American servicemen on his hands, as well. He voted identically to Hillary once he was in the US Senate. Hillary worked tirelessly for veterans and the families of our soldiers. She has passed legislation that attests to this. Obama, unfortunately, has not shared Hillary’s concern for our troops and their families. The record of Obama’s negligence regarding Afghanistan is as tragic as the little boy who died in Chicago.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who has come under fire about his readiness to be commander-in-chief, missed two of three Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings on Afghanistan since joining the panel.

Obama has said the U.S. should have stayed focused on fighting al Qaeda in Afghanistan while repeatedly criticizing his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), and presumptive Republican nominee Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) for their votes in favor of a resolution backing the Iraq war.

But since joining Foreign Relations, Obama has missed three meetings on a “new strategy” in Afghanistan, a country he has never visited.

Obama was absent from a January 31 meeting this year, and also was not present for a hearing on Sept. 21, 2006. He did attend a March 8, 2007 hearing on a new Afghanistan strategy.

On Feb. 15, 2007, Obama also missed a committee hearing on U.S. ambassadors to Iraq and Afghanistan.

With this weeks attacks on Pakiston coming from Afghanistan, I can’t think of anything more telling than him dodging this responsibility. He’s too green to be president.

      • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

Thanks for demonstrating Obamabutts are thieves just like their Messiah, Bushy. You can steal and twist all the words you like, but Obama is the hypocrite. All those years “community organizing” and he never noticed those slums. Then when his slumlord buddies put him in a position to do them favors, he repays them by getting all that government money funneled to them and they can’t spend even a little bit of it on maintaining the premises in habitable condition? And he never bothers to check, just gets more and more money for them? And when a child dies as the result of all thing, all you can come up with is “but, but, Hillary”?

Yes, Hillary (and Kerry and many other Obama supporters) voted, not for war, but for a lie Bush told. And Obama has, since being elected to the Senate, by his words and votes supported Bush’s war. Only after he started running for President did he come up with this mythic and mythical speech that he supposedly gave while in the Illinois Legislature condemning the war. Tell me, where did he deliver this speech? From the steps of Ayers’ mansion while his good buddy was stomping a flag? Or was it at Trinity Church while his good buddy/crazy preacher Wright was shouting “God damn America”?

As Obama said, he doesn’t care about the people, he just wants the money.

Oprah doesn’t actually go down in the HOOD. She builds schools in South Africa, and doesn’t help schools in South Chicago.

Her show caters to upper and middle class white women who can afford all those “products” she claims are her favorites.

Once she got out of the hood, she never went back. Neither did Gail.

      • Karma

To be fair, Gail was never from the hood.

However, I agree, it is disgusting that Oprah ignores what is going on in Chicago.

I wonder if that is where she gets her idea that American kids don’t want to learn? With poverty the way it is, I also wonder how many of these kids would shine if simply given supplies to compete such as paper, books, and computers.

If their mothers have to worry about the price of gas and food, are their school supplies being purchased?

And we all know the answer to this. How do these kids succeed with no tools to do so and politicans who steal from them when money is provided? They don’t….and Oprah writes them off as spoiled when in fact they are neglected.

Obama Standing on the Shoulders of USA’s 1st Black President Bill Clinton

    by Frank James

Here’s an interesting thought: Sen. Barack Obama’s legions of admirers and supporters should thank the Clintons because without them, Obama’s road to the White House would be a lot steeper if not impossible.

Peter Beinart, a senior fellow at the Council of Foreign Relations, makes that very compelling argument in an essay in Time magazine. Beinart’s on to something.
    http://countusout.wordpress.com/2008/06/28/obama-standing-on-the-shoulders-of-usas-1st-black-president/
For starters, Clinton deracialized American politics. He didn’t deracialize it completely, of course. But knitting together a coalition of blacks and whites is easier today because Clinton restored the Democrats’ credibility on economic issues and took three of the most racially toxic issues in U.S. politics–crime, welfare and affirmative action–off the table

Why not put her expansive ass there, as well? AFter all, it is, “The MOther Country,” it seems, and cries out for talent.

  • http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com TexasDarlin

Susan, thank you for shining a light on such a tragic and unnecessary death. I have read other reports of Obama’s neglect of the poorer areas of his own town, but had no idea that the connections ran so deep. Very disappointing.

    • McBush

Yeah right, Obama’s the only politician that lives in Chicago. He’s the ONLY one complicit. Let’s not start on NY atrocites and how Hill is responsible for all those as well. This is just ridiculous, a red herring to fire up all the idiots.

[ADMIN NOTE: We've tired of your sarcastic nasty comments. Goodbye.]

      • alee21

What NY atrocities are you referring to?
Hillary is a US senator from NY, not a NY state senator. Do you even know the difference?
Don’t spew forth unfounded nonsense, sounds like you are a hate monger and a rumor monger.

      • GoHillary

No nobama is not the only politician in chicago. There are many others that are complicit.
We want to keep ALL the politician filth from chicago including nobama in Chicago, preferably in a high security prison.

        • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

I like the sound of that — Obama, the presumptive defendant.

      • Hope Floats

Thank you, site administrators! You guys rule.

  • james

Sad, too, how people will shamelessly exploit any tragedy to score points against somebody they hate.

Barack Obama is to blame for the conditions in the Chicago slums? For generations of corrupt slumlords and developers who have made themselves wealthy by capitalizing on those conditions? He’s at fault for having tried to accomplish something positive in a political environment that’s pretty much been a sewer for years?

Was there something evil about the bills Obama worked for?

Or does the evil lie with the sort of scum who hold themselves out as respected memebers of the community, funnel money into the the campaigns of unsuspecting, up-and-coming leaders, then follow along behind to take advantage?

Ask the Chicago poor who Obama has worked for what their opinion is of Barack Obama. Ask them who they blame.

    • wodiej

you’ve got to be kidding me?? Obama helped pass legislation to line the pockets of these slum lords. He got funding for his political career on the backs of these poor people. This crappy housing was in his district. You’re pathetic.

    • GoHillary

      …unsuspecting, up-and-coming leaders…

      Hilarious.

Oh I just took their money and gave them a million dollars of federal funds. I was totally unsuspecting. Boo Hooo… Oh and I also did not suspect that I bought a house 300K under the price. I was unsuspecting, Booo Hooo.

Please pity me, please pity me, … because although i screwed the poor folk that live in these ghettos, i was unsuspecting…

    • alee21

      Remember what Obama said?
I don’t need the people, only their checkbooks (vis a vis fundraiser organized by Ed Rendell).
I think that kind of attitude is pervasive in the Obama camp.

As State Senator representing that district it is Obama’s responsibility to make sure that the legislature he helped pass is actually doing what it is supposed to be doing.

So yes, he is responsible for the unmentionable negligence that he has allowed to perpetuate.

    • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

The legislation he got passed, the letters he wrote, the strings he pulled, but those weren’t the slumlords he knew . . . .

  • Bella

    How horrific.

I used to go thru Cabrini every day in my old dog walking route. It is heartbreaking to see the conditions of the older buildings…yet there are still people living in some. I think this area where the boy died was by the rowhouses.

I wish the MSM would report on the connection here. I’m so sick of Oblahblah saying he was a community organizer. Funny, once he settled into a million dollar home he no longer gave a shite about the little guy.

Even worse, he lines the pockets of slumlords.

    RIP little Curtis.

    • Dawnelle

I also just got this email from our local WNC Hillary Group.
      ——————————

The Democratic presidential nominee has not yet been officially selected.

      Remember:

      1) the super-delegates can not vote until the convention,

      2) Hillary suspended her campaign but has not released her delegates,

      3) it takes 2,026 delegate votes to become the Democratic nominee and no candidate has that number yet,

      4) if we acquiesce now, think how the DNC will treat us next time,

      5) if we acquiesce, the party “bosses” will have selected the nominee, contrary to our Constitution, and

      6) if Hillary delegates hold their position at the convention, her supporters will have the power to significantly impact the outcome.

Don’t waste the power of 18 million people!

      • zerostress

        3) it takes 2,026 delegate votes to become the Democratic nominee and no candidate has that number yet,

According to Demconwatch, Obama has 1765.5 pledged delegates and 478 superdelegates for a total of 2243.5, which is superior to the 2,026 needed.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

SDs cannot be counted until the convention, since they are free to change their minds.

        • Chicago Joe

Yes, and those superdelegates will be free to vote for Hillary if the MSM ever reports the facts about Obama.

        • Newly Independent

“According to Demconwatch, Obama has 1765.5 pledged delegates and 478 superdelegates”

NO Superdelegate votes are official until the Democratic convention in August. That’s why they’re called PLEDGED delegates.

You Obamabrats are inexperienced to the political world. And it shows.

  • uhh somehow this notion that I am qualified to be president is uhh uhh ridiculous

Obama is ultimately responsible for those he ‘supervises’, especially when he provides the taxpayers’ money to those people.
If in fact his reasons were pure and his goal was to clean up the conditions in the slums, why would he not check up and see whether or not his legislation was successful?

    • james

You can think of no other prominent politicans whose well-meant legislation has been exploited by evil men, with unintended and unforseen consequences?

I’m having difficulty thinking of examples where that hasn’t been the case.

      Alas…

      • Obama_is_WEAK

Lame james, very lame BHO is NO INNOCENT bystander: his whole politcial career has been built on this.

      • GoHillary

        Listen Pal,
In this case, your messiah took money from the “evil men” who took advantage of “well meant” legislation.

How can you live with yourself after saying this garbage?

      • Obama_is_WEAK

And these people are STILL bank-rolling him. BHO has blood in his hands.

        • james

I said this up above and I’ll repeat it again here, because it seems to have dropped in under the wrong post:

Obama, as well Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and John McCain, have all accepted large campaign donations from convicted felons. They’ve all given the money back, or donated the money to charity, when they’ve subsequently discovered who they were taking money from.

There’s generally a presumption made by fair-minded people that the politicians in question didn’t initially recognize the evil.

Except with Obama. For some people, with Obama, the presumption is guilty until proven innocent. He’s expected by some to counter every passing allegation with evidence proving what he didn’t do. When he can’t prove the negative–or when he doesn’t rise to the bait–the allegation is added to his list of presumed sins.

Making that observation doesn’t mean I unquestioning believe he’s done no wrong. I doubt if there’s a politician in office who’s done no wrong. Or a single voter, for that matter.

          • Obama_is_WEAK

Obama has not given back the money from Cullen Davis.

            • Chicago Joe

Cullen, the bus is coming for you, pal.

          • Obama_is_WEAK

Obama has stayed intimate friends with and benefited from Rezko for over 20 years!!! That has NO comparison with anyone : ANYONE.

            Capisce?

            • james

I suppose I could bring up John McCain’s close, long-term personal relationship with G. Gordon Liddy. There’s a lengthy list of long-term Clinton business associates…

The thing is, that’s not a direction I’ll go in. I’d be doing the very thing I’ve been complaining about, wouldn’t I? I don’t do guilt-by-association arguments, as a matter of principle. I just point ‘em out when I see them, and hope others who happen across them will do a reality check.

              • johnny m

James–stick to the story! Don’t divert attention from Obama’s dirty dealings. He’s one of the dirtiest politicans around and he only started the game…

              • Hope Floats

You have done this very thing twice, since you felt compelled to repost your argument. It is Obama’s favorite, and it must be that Cheney “so, what?” gene. Hillary returned the campaign contributions from Norman Hsu. She has given a $5000 check back to a Wal-Mart executive for a conflict of interests. To say that politicians do not try to profit from their positions is naive, but to say that all politicians show such callous disregard for their constituents is overly cynical therefore wrong. As someone who touts their experience as a “community organizer” as a qualification for the presidency, these are very disturbing reports.

              • http://marcysmutiny.blogspot.com MessyMarcy

Scroll down a little bit and read the comment by jbjd | 2008-06-28 17:36:01 for your reality check. Nothing else needs to be said, except that I will never vote for this amoral, unethical, greedy, callous charlatan for President. I have voted for the Democratic nominee every election since (and including) Jimmy Carter, but I will never do anything that would subject this country to the crimes Obama and his cronies would commit while in office.

McCain ’08. Hillary ’12. Stephanie Tubbs Jones ’20. Chelsea ’28. Obama never.

          • Disgusted

I said this to your first post. Obama knew going in where the money was coming from. Anyone in Chicago knows who these people are. Obama gives the money back when WE find out, not when HE finds out. Isn’t that the “old school Washington Politics Obama is so against?” He seems to be in his element.

          • Karma

You seem to be under the assumption that people don’t understand those facts when it comes to Obama.

No one thinks that Mrs Carter supports serial killers just because she had her picture taken with one.

The pictures and donations of politicians have no real meaning unless you see a pattern emerge.

The pattern that has emerged with Obama is that these money men are benefiting from their show pony at the expense of the taxpayers.

This young boy’s death is a tragic consequence of Obama and his money men.

One couldn’t happen without the other. Certainly, they could have found another show pony, but they nurtured this one for two decades, and this is one who is partly responsible.

Obama knew who they were and what their goals were. He chose power over integrity…and his house over the safety of citizens within his district and state.

I have yet to hear of another politican who has done so…have you? And like you pointed out, that doesn’t mean others haven’t done wrong. Just nothing along these lines that i am aware of. Obama has earned this critique with his own actions and deserves such scrutiny since he wants the top job.

          • Chicago Joe

You seem to be missing the irony. Barack has run on the hope-change-not business as usual platform. However, his descent into hell was quite rapid. He was crooked from the get-go, but he tried to create an image that was otherwise.

      • typical irishman

Obama has been exploiting all you punks since the first day he came to Chicago.

  • wodiej

you can’t be tied to people that cause tragic things like this little boy’s death and think you’re going to come out clean. This is just one of many, many things that are starting to come out about how disgusting and dirty Obama is. His supporters can only defend him by pointing fingers back at us, Hillary, Bill or McCain.

  • Postmaster

My sympathy to the family of this little boy. Obama should be over there right now…but remember what he said, we don’t need the people, just the checks. I guess that applied to this housing project as well. The hell with the people, I’ll get you the money and you get me elected. I sure hope the people living in these projects remember Obama at voting time.

  • jbjd

My black son just turned 16 years old; I am crying my eyes out for little Curtis and his distraught mother, who witnessed the death of her beloved baby boy. The Boston Globe was a day late and a dollar short with their expose on Barack Obama’s abysmal record on public housing in Chicago. Residents of these units went without heat for months in the winter because property managers he endorsed and funded refused to pay the fuel bills while they contributed to his campaigns. Why did their suffering only now raise sufficient ire to merit this expose in the MSM? What if reporters had decided Chicago corruption in awarding contracts merited wide scale investigation earlier on, say, at the beginning of Mr. Obama’s candidacy for the Office of President of the United States? Could Curtis have been saved at that time? As to the comment above proposing forcing walk-throughs of the projects by such Chicago notables as Oprah Winfrey, suggesting this could sway their support for Mr. Obama… What makes you think these people are unaware the only ‘substance’ in this man lies in the fact, he is black? Haven’t you noticed that, for some reason, ensuring the health and safety (and education) of black children born in the United States matters less to these people than caring for children from other countries? They especially marginalize our little black boys, who don’t seem to count much to that crowd unless they are imported into the US, for adoption.

    • Newly Independent

      You’re absolutely right – and it’s a damn shame.

It’s sickening that we treat our own people like this. But too many in our community think that Obama hung the moon. Only a few of us are on to Obama’s ass.

  • typical irishman

It’s a good thing Obama is a christian. What would his old Illinois district have been like if he wasn’t a christian? A senator allowing his constituents to live in squaler in order his low life friends can reap $$$$millions. That does have the ring of the TUCC brand of christianity. GOD DAMN AMERICAN poor people gonna drag masta Obama down? Trolls should really be proud of their black christian thug from the TUCC church of satan.

  • Steve

Yeah,…I gues where Homobana’s is living. I a wonderful multi-million mansion, in a white Chicago-hood. When Hillary was giving her suspension speech. Homobana was golfing, maybe at his Rev Wright’s golf course (symbolic). Yeah Rev. Wright with his 10 million line of credit. That he went back South Chicago to those poor used Blacks and preached hate for America. Homobana didn’t care about that little boy, to busy playing the white man’s game. Kinda reminds of OJ Simpson. After killing his wife! Playing that golf.

    • typical irishman

OJ is responsibile for only one death. How many has died due to Obama’s neglect as a state senator?

    • http://www.hillaryunited.com Greco

Bringing up OJ… Yep, no racism here. Carry on.

        Jesse Jackson brought up OJ.

Oh, no! You said Jesse Jackson and OJ. Isn’t that double racism? Won’t Obama have to retire to the fainting couch?

Or could it be that it is racist to obtain government funds for a white slumlord who fails to maintain his property so that it is safe for mostly AA tenants to live in, yet has money to donate to Obama?

  • Disgusted Dem & Proud PUMA

This is so sad! I sure hope the media picks up on it and the story goes national. That poor child and his poor family…very sad!

It’s truly shameful to try to win political points by seizing on the day-old death of a 3-year-old, not to mention a huge stretch to attempt to link it to Obama. What’s next? Obama’s responsible for the tornadoes that killed the Boy Scouts? Root for Hillary, pull for McCain, support Dick Cheney for all I care, but can you people at least try to show some class and keep the level of discourse out of the sewer?

    • alee21

You should at least make legitimate analogies.

Deteriorating housing project b/o neglect does not equal natural disasters.

Seems like you don’t care for much except to insult the Hillary supporters at this site.

      Why not move elsewhere ?

      • james

Some people around here trash Obama and his supporters in the vilest, most insulting manner possible at every opportunity. Read back through this thread. The implication is that he’s a child-killer, with blood on his hands? Then there are all those insulting direct references to him: Plastic Jesus? Homoboma? Bisexual coke head, thug, misogynist, racist Obama? A pathetic loser, fraud and thug? His wife Michelle was referred to as a bull-dyke.

After that–which is pretty much par for the course around here–we get a comment such as this:

“Seems like you don’t care for much except to insult the Hillary supporters at this site.”

You should give some thought to who is insulting and abusing whom. Attacks on Obama seem to outnumber critical comments concerning Hillary Clinton by a factor of about 100 to 1. Most “Obamabot” comments are purely defensive.

        • Hope Floats

An Obama supporter hollering about “class” is the equivalent of an alcoholic hollering about sobriety.

You also have a gross lack of compassion and humanity to holler about “political points” in a thread about Obama’s blatant, consistent and long-term ties to a now-convicted slumlord whos poor tenants are badly suffering under those horrible living conditions.

It’s one thing to support Obama.

It’s another to turn a completely blind eye to his true evil nature.

At least most Hillary supporters don’t act like the Clintons are completely dirt-free.

      You are scum.

  • Justmy02

If Sen. Obama could not even improve the quality of life for the constituents in his district in Chicago (and there is plenty of evidence he did not)then how can we trust him to handle the biggest, most difficult job in the land?

And he says he didn’t know about these slums? HA!

    • R Thatcher

Cabrini-Green, where the accident occurred, has only been the most infamous public housing project in the country for the last, um, 30 years. I sincerely doubt Obama ever said he had never heard of it. You people seem to just make things up.

Ah. Another uninformed Obama supporter (unpaid, I’m sure. lol).

If the tables have been turned and it is McCain or Hillary in Obama’s shoes, you will be jumping up and down, crying racism, negligence, and so on and so forth.
So stop being a hypocrite and open your eyes to what the slumlords are doing in Chicago and elsewhere.
Whether Obama has a direct hand in facilitating the deterioration of the housing project, as state legislator and a former community worker, AND as a RESPONSIBLE public servant, it is his duty to verify that the piece of legislature he helped pass is doing what it is supposed to be doing.

It is what we call responsibility and public service.

This is an awful story and it’s not getting the scrutiny it’s due other than Susan’s post here at NQ. As usual, the MSM has blown off a story that reflects badly on its hero. Except, an innocent little child died.

I offer my condolences to his family and friends.

And, THANK YOU, Susan, for giving this story the attention it deserves.

  • bambi’s brother

Barack’s inexperience shows, and i hope he’s learning stuff as fast as he can. he came to Chicago with nothing and he had to make friends to get somewhere, and some of those friends are criminals. Of course he should have been on top of this stuff, if he helped get the lucrative contracts for his friends, he ought to check things out and see for himself if they’re hurting people. But we’re now stuck with him as or nominee, and even though he’s busy going back on his words, I still think we have a slightly better chance of exiting Iraq with him than with John, and at any rate he’s unlikely to get much done, while John may so some real mischief. What we have to do is get rid of Dean and Brazille, and try to get our party back. We had a well-qualfied candidate who was clear and transparent, we all knew exactly what she’d do, and we now have an inexperienced scandal waiting to happen who we know nothing about really, since he’s free to go back on his pledges which were weaker than hers to stay with, so our party is way too corrupt and we need to clean out the leadership.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

I don’t. I think he will be a disaster on Iraq. Too much to prove now….

Nope, McCain will be better on this.

McCain isn’t nearly as sexy or presidential, but he is far more solid in terms of political knowledge.

He did not do well today with Latinos, btw. His position to soothe the Republicans hurt him.

      • james

McCain will be better on this.

Assuming he doesn’t get us into a war with Iran, of course.

With our military forces tapped out in Iraq, things heating up in Afghanistan (where we should have been focusing our full attention in the first place), and the national economy tanking, I don’t even want to contemplate what the results might be.

It could happen very suddenly. An Israeli air strike on Iran could trigger it. Would Israel be more likely to make that move with McCain or Obama headed for the White House?

That’s a rhetorical question. I don’t know the answer. For all I know, Israel might do it to sway the November election.

Why don’t you shut the f**k up about things you know nothing about.

I live in Illinois – we know the truth about corruption in this state. I have seen those housing developments – I would like to invite you to spend one night in one of them.

You can argue all night – facts are facts – Obama is dirty!!!!!!!!!!!

Do some real research instead of blowing your mouth off defending a scumbag.

I am appalled that he has betrayed the poor in Chicago – obviously, you don’t care about the poor who cannot defend themselves – just your scumbag candidate. Shame on you!!!!!!! why don’t you go to Chicago and take a tour – oh no, you are the type that wouldn’t get their hands dirty or you are too afraid to enter those developments.

I am devastated for the people who have to live in those conditions – only a sociopath would have no feelings toward their situation. and, only a sociopath would actually give the taxpayers money into criminal hands like Rezko and Davis and Obama.

I agree politicians all haved some answering to do – but this is EVIL.

    • james

You think I know nothing because I don’t share your opinions. I’ve lived in the Chicago area for 30 years. I know about Illinois corruption. And I know about the projects. You’re blaming Obama for a situation that’s existed since long before he was even born.

You think I don’t care about the poor. That you know my type.

You know nothing about me. Everything you think you know comes from the stereotypes you’ve formed that center on Barack Obama. Fact is, I’ve always been a Clinton supporter. I still am. Apparently the only person who can say something posistive about Barack Obama and remain safe from the tar brushing that goes with it is Hillary Clinton herself. She’s been granted immunity. The rest of your long-time democratic allies have been deemed idiots, or worse.

If one cares about the poor, one doesn’t vote republican this election. You don’t even do it if you care about the middle class.

The republican party is about one thing: protecting and furthering the interests of the upper 10% of the population, who currently own over 71% of the nation’s total wealth. The bottom 40% of the population currently own around 0.02% of the nation’s wealth. You think the republicans care more about those people than Barack Obama? They sure as hell haven’t demonstrated it.

Thank you, Susan for an excellent story. This should make the Front Page of the N.Y.Times and WashhingtonPost….but we’re fortunate to read it here at NO QUARTER–where democracy still resides with no subsidies from Obamyopics.

To: DEMOCRATS4BARR above! GET LOST! Go back to Chicago and admire Obama’s handiwork. He demolished his African-American benefactor, the woman who educated his smug, ignorant ass in Chicago in ’96. And he repaid her kindness by knocking Sen. Alice Palmer’s name off the damn ballot so the jerk could steal the election, uncontested. So, you take your sorry ass crapshit and go to the Obamashits. No Quarter to you, jerk!! GET LOST, OBAMABOT! SHAME ON YOU FOR REFUSING TO LOOK AT THE TRUTH IN THE FACE. A TRUE COWARD LIKE YOUR PROPHET HUSSEIN.

  • jo1

Hey, GRECO-OBAMABOT: KISS MY ASS AND GO BACK TO YOUR MASTER’S OBAMASHITE!! shut the f*ck up.

you are not worth shining Pres. Clinton’s oldest pair of shoes, moron! And learn how to speak irony, asshole!

  • jo1

THATCHER: GO BADK TO YOUR RODENT-INFESTED OBAMABOT BASEMENT. REZKO’S FIXED IT BY NOW!

  • McCain

OBAMA’S A THUG WHO KNOCKED DOWN HIS FEMALE AFRICAN-AMERICAN MENTOR/BENEFACTOR IN CHICAGO IN ’96–SEN. ALICE PALMER! HE STOLE THE ELECTION FROM HER. NOW HE STOLE THE NOMINATION FROM HILLARY! ONE HELL OF A SEXIST WHO DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN AFRICAN-AMERICAN OR ANY OTHER AMERICAN…WOMEN! BARACK SHOULD SELL HIS MANSION AND GIVE THE PROCEEDS TO THE BOY’S MOTHER AND TO ALL HIS SLUM LANDLORD VICTIMS IN SOUTH SIDE, CHICAGO! SHAME ON THE JERK!

  • McCain

    BEEBOP: You stink, boy!

  • John

One misconception is that some people think that if Obama supporters knew how dirty he really is – they would not support him. Wrong! They know and they don’t care. In fact, they are proud of it. Like many other thugs throughout history, Obama has a large following among the corrupt, the banal, the resentful, the haters. We have seen this kind before. The bad part is that for him to maintain their complete adoration, he will have to move on to bigger and more horrible crimes against decency & truth. These kinds of people are only satisfied when the corruptness grows & grows until it destroyes all that is decent. Obama may indeed be the future of this nation. The empire had risen, and now it is falling.

    • Brendy

John – I happen to agree with you. People DO know that Obama is worthless, and probably corrupt (and definitely anti-America/white – after attending THAT ‘church’) as a presidential candidate – but MILLIONS of people STILL SUPPORT HIM. It’s incredible.

  • John

Well, I’m not the same John as the last commenter, but I congratulate Susanunpc for this powerful reporting. Some research and google searches convince me that Susan is correct. This information needs to be spread far and wide on political blogs everywhere, and it will probably make its way, rightly, into campaign ads as well.

  • Talk2ThePaw

How can Obama claim to be a great Senator, a man of the people, a man that will raise the standard of the poor and disenfranchised and say that he had no idea of the conditions in his district? How can he claim to be the candidate of Change when like all Washington politicians he apparently never visits his own district?

    • Chicago Joe

      He didn’t see the slums.
He didn’t double cross Alice Palmer.
He didn’t keep a schedule as a state senator.
      He didn’t keep his records.
He didn’t fill out that questionnaire.
He didn’t post the phony birth certificate.
He didn’t vote 130 times (present).
He didn’t hear anything Rev. Wright had to say for 20 years.
He didn’t see the people all around him a-whoopin’ and a-hollerin’ when the Rev. made some points.
He didn’t read the TUCC manifesto…
He didn’t really hang out with his spiritual mentors, Manning, Wright and Pfleger.
He didn’t use TUCC as a place to launch his political career.

      You get the idea.

  • Brendy

Such a terrible and NEEDLESS tradgedy – such a cute, little boy. What a heartbreak that is for that mother – bless her soul; her little boy is with God.

  • Zeke

What’s the spread if I take Obama and the points?

McCain’s machine is going grind this man to mincemeat..

  • kat in your hat

LOOK at all these poor black who go HOMELESS ion Grove Parc Plaza in Chicago because of Obama and his business and pleasure friends Allison Davis and Tony Rezko!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3bsKKO-bFU

    DISGUSTING!!

Why are so many black people supporting him??? He hasn’t done anything for them, but harm, and this is a damn crying shame.

    • james

So we like holding politicans accountable?

Look at the estimated 194,000 U.S. veterans who are homeless and on the steets of America any given night–at least 1,500 of which are veterans of the War in Iraq.

Then look at John McCain’s voting history on each year’s Veterans appropriation bill.

Consider 5,000 dead women and children in Iraq, and 4,113 dead American soldiers.

Then look at McCain’s voting history on Bush’s war and his current position.

We can do accountability if you want. We can compare how much Barack Obama has to direclty answer for, compared with John McCain.

    • james

Why are so many black people supporting him??? He hasn’t done anything for them, but harm, and this is a damn crying shame.

How do you know he hasn’t done anything for them?

We’ve got to consider who’s telling us this stuff. People in the black community are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves. Their continuing support in Illinois after being represented by Obama for years speaks volumes.
