Bill Ayers would be so proud

ayersflag.jpg

The so far left that they forgot what is right wing of the Democratic party has taken a new tact. They have decided that they don’t really have a problem with swiftboating after all. Just as long as the shoe is on the other foot. And Republicans are the ones wearing it. Starting this week they are coming out in droves to paint John McCain, a decorated war hero, as a traitor and a war criminal. And gosh wouldn’t you know it, some people even posted their drivel on Barack Obama’s website.

Here’s a screenshot of one of my favorites. Change you can believe in type stuff if you ask me. Strictly new politics. No doubt about it.

missbunnyblog.jpg

And just in case you couldn’t quite make out the poster here is an enlarged view for your viewing pleasure.

mccain-poster.jpg

You gotta figure that Obama friend and confident Bill Ayers is having wet dreams over all of this. It’s everything he has “hoped” for since he quit bombing government buildings. He is probably pulling out new American flags to stomp on as you read this.

But placing this crap on Obama’s website was just a start. A trial run you might say. The way out there and completely inappropriately titled blog Americablog took deception to a whole new level.

Some on left target McCain’s war record

“A lot of people don’t know… that McCain made a propaganda video for the enemy while he was in captivity,” wrote Americablog’s John Aravosis. “Putting that bit of disloyalty aside, what exactly is McCain’s military experience that prepares him for being commander in chief?”

“Getting shot down, tortured, and then doing propaganda for the enemy is not command experience,” Aravosis wrote in the blog post, entitled “Honestly, besides being tortured, what did McCain do to excel in the military?”

I seriously wonder if Mr. Aravosis has ever been tortured. And I wonder if he knows the limits as to what a person will put up with until they crack. He apparently lives in some fantasy world where he believes that people like Jack Bauer actually exist. Maybe Superman is real in Mr. Avarosis’s distorted world but for the rest of us that live in a little place called reality we know with certainty that people have limits despite what the movies tell us.

John McCain’s campaign was understandably shaken by what was said about him. After all, he came to John Kerry’s defense when people from his own party attacked his patriotism.

“The American people know that John McCain’s record of service and sacrifice is not a matter of debate. He has written about and discussed his service as a POW extensively—often in excruciating and painful detail,” said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers. “The American people will judge harshly anyone who demeans or attacks that service.”

In fact McCain has never claimed that he did not crack under torture. He admitted it freely.

“I had learned what we all learned over there: Every man has his breaking point. I had reached mine,” he later wrote.

But he later defied his captors by refusing to meet with anti-war delegations from abroad, he wrote, and also refused the most valuable special treatment he was offered: Early release.

“I did not want to go out of order,” he later wrote. He was finally released on March 14, 1973.

But far be it from the fringe left to admit that they are wrong about anything. Their solution to mistakes is to compound them. And what better place to demonstrate how far out they really are but the Huff and Puff Huffington Post.

In a Huffington Post blog, a former editor of Mother Jones magazine, Jeffrey Klein, called—in tones reminiscent of right-wing attacks on Kerry in 2004—on McCain to release elements of his Navy record that the candidate has not made available to the public or the press.

“Some of the unreleased pages in McCain’s Navy file may not reflect well upon his qualifications for the presidency,” he wrote. As to why, Klein speculated that “From day one in the Navy, McCain screwed-up again and again, only to be forgiven because his father and grandfather were four-star admirals.”

Not to be outdone Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin chimed in too. Unsatisfied just protesting the current war in Iraq, Benjamin wants to refight a war that has been over for 3 decades.

“I wouldn’t characterize anybody who fought in Vietnam as a war hero,” said Medea Benjamin, a co-founder of the theatrical anti-war group Code Pink. “In 23 bombing sorties, there must have been civilians that were killed and there’s no heroism to that.”

“Anyone who can’t look back and admit how wrong it was to be in Vietnam and be killing civilians deserves to be challenged,” she said, though she stressed that her group is more focused on McCain’s present support for the war in Iraq than on his past.

At least some on the left have a little sense left. Even after all that bad acid. Tom Hayden is one such lone dissenter.

“I know and like McCain,” Tom Hayden, a former California State Senator and prominent anti-war activist, told Politico in an email. “From my own perspective and that of many anti-war activists of that era, the fact that he bombed North Vietnam some 25 times, probably killing civilians, gets blurred with the facts that he suffered through that long prison ordeal, then also went on to promote diplomatic relations between the two countries.”

“It’s like asking a guy that served his jail term here—you’d say he’s done his time so that’s behind him,” Hayden said.

But another supporter of Barack Obama isn’t quite so forgiving. No, you might say she goes a little overboard. But lots of Cultists do that. Please notice the date on her blog. This has been up for nearly a month now. All the while Obama is calling McCain “a genuine American hero” and claiming that he is running a clean campaign. And she uses the same type of line that Jay Rockefeller used toward John McCain. Disgusting words that he had to retract immediately.

“What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground?” he asked. “He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues.”

warcriminal.jpg

So this is what we have to look forward to coming from the leftist radicals that support Barack Obama. Barky can claim all the new politics nonsense he wants. And he can pretend like he is running a clean campaign. But where is his leadership when his supporters have clearly crossed over a line that we all decided back in 2004 needed to be drawn? What’s that Barky? Perhaps I need a hearing aid.

  • jwrjr

The Obama-supporting blogs have been swift-boating McCain for some time now. He is far from perfect. But when the Obama supporters make up lies about McCain, it says more about Obama than it does about McCain.

  • AngryWhitePerson

Obamabots are scumbag leaches who sponge off others then complain about the free service.

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

It’s really sad to me that the best Obamabots can do now is try to destroy McCain when discussing this election. They can’t come up with anything good to say about Obama so now they are after McCain. So much for being above “politics as usual.”

I guess a smear is OK as long as it’s against a Republican? What hypocrisy.

  • let them eat change

OB just came out and “reprimanded” Wesley Clark for making some of these talking points. (MSM is reporting) Seems the MSM needs to look at his website as well. McCain camp needs to have MSM checkout his website — major inconsistency on OB part.

  • Christine

There has been no greater endorsement for McCain than that which has come from his former jailor at the Hanoi Hilton.

these obama people are true thugs who hate our country. they are extremely out of touch, and they are very reckless.

I am horrified but not at all surprised by this crap. That’s the way these dirtbags work – take something totally ridiculous, something no one with a brain would believe like say, I don’t know maybe that Bill Clinton is a racist, and you repeat it over and over and over again. Eventually some moron goes for it, like it’s fact. That’s why I really don’t care if that Larry Sinclair story has any truth to it – what’s good for the goose…what an ass.

These are sick people. John is a great American.

Disgusting! I still believe McCain is a patriotic man who doesn’t need to give a speech on his Naval history or his patriotism.

Equal Pay For Women: Barack Obama Says One Thing and Does Another….Again

The average pay for the 33 men on Obama’s staff (who earned more than $23,000, the lowest annual salary paid for non-intern employees) was $59,207. The average pay for the 31 women on Obama’s staff who earned more than $23,000 per year was $48,729.91. (The average pay for all 36 male employees on Obama’s staff was $55,962; and the average pay for all 31 female employees was $48,729. The report indicated that Obama had only one paid intern during the period, who was a male.)

McCain, an Arizona senator, employed a total of 69 people during the reporting period ending in the fall of 2007, but 23 of them were interns. Of his non-intern employees, 30 were women and 16 were men. After excluding interns, the average pay for the 30 women on McCain’s staff was $59,104.51. The 16 non-intern males in McCain’s office, by comparison, were paid an average of $56,628.83.

    Off topic:

Just got an email about OB and Clinton discussing her being on the first ballot at convention. That added this fact:

“Historically, what has happened at the Democratic Conventions is: In the last 10 Democratic Conventions (1968-2004) one was uncontested (Bill Clinton’s 1996 re-nomination). Of the remaining nine – even though the ultimate nominee in every case had a clear majority of delegates well before the Convention – in SEVEN of the nine, the names of the other contenders were placed in nomination and voted on at the Convention. The only times this didn’t happen were in 2000 and 2004 (although in 2004 Rep. Kucinich still received some votes on the roll call).”

    Talk it up!

  • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Uppity Woman

I’m at the point now where I believe they will get their way, because they CAN. Laws, rules, precedent, fairness, whatever, do not matter to these power hungry radicals. In November they will meet their Karma.

  • catherine

This is the most outrageous piece of hateful propaganda against Senator McCain that makes Obama and his cronies borderline criminal. It makes me want to vote for McCain because he has to endure such remarks from people who have not set one foot in combat. Obama is and most of his associates are slime- plain and simple. Chicago mob style politics is nothing to be proud of. “Yes we Can” alright. We can be evil, biased, racist, sexist, slanderous, corrupt, criminal- whatever it takes to win. Americans hopefully will wake up by November.

PS I hope this whole matter of the birth certificate gets contested in court. This is an issues which should be able to be settled once and for all.

The email was actually implying that the OB camp would piss many (18 million) off by trying to get her off the first ballot. They are in a pickle. Might have to let her have her historic “rightful” spot or they will loose votes. Good news for us!

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Heart breaking. Totally heartbreaking to bring up that famous picture of Viet Nam. Obama will stop at nothing. The people of viet nam were saved until America bailed out and left. Anyone who served in Viet Nam was a hero regardless.

A whos who of 1968 radicals supports the candidate

In 1968, the Left served as unwitting allies of Republicans, costing the Democrats the White House by rioting at their convention and withholding votes from Hubert Humphrey. In 2008, it is their vocal support that may cost Barack Obama the presidency.

‘Hanoi Hilton’ jailer says he’d vote for McCain

HAIPHONG, Vietnam – John McCain has an unusual endorsement — from the Vietnamese jailer who says he held him captive for about five years as a POW and now considers him a friend.

“If I were an American voter, I would vote for Mr. John McCain,” Tran Trong Duyet said Friday, sitting in his living room in the northern city of Haiphong, surrounded by black-and-white photos of a much younger version of himself and former Vietnam War prisoners

Well fine then. This gives McCain and every 527 out there permission to let it rip on Obambi. What goes around comes around hypocrite. Get ready for the onslaught–I hope they hold NOTHING back!

  • Lou

This is his campaign MO. He cuts the rival in lttle pieces and when the damage is done he MAY make a comment acting like he didn’t mean to. That’s after all the damage is done..like the Hillary RFK statement etc…None of it is reality based.

  • Hmm

It completely predictable that they would do this based on how they attacked Hillary.

The MO is always the same.

A group of people say something outrageous and nagative about an Obama opponent that shocks people and makes them wonder if it could be true.
Then the media reports on it.
Then Obama comes out and mildly denounces it and claims that he had nothing to do with the accusations and in fact the same charges were unfairly leveled at him by his opponent in the past.

I dont think it really has worked at all-Obama is where he is because he gamed the caucus states. All the rest is just the meaningless rantings of a very inadequate man.

  • Randall Allen

McCain is a hero – Obama is less than pond scum!!!!!!!!!!

I certainly hope it does. It was despicable when it was done to Kerry, and it is no less so when done to McCain.

  • StrawberrybitesBarky

Funny thing is, I remember the exact same attacks against McCain back in 2000. But they were started by Rove. Hmmmmm. Part of the whisper campaign. Now Obamabits using the same talking points. Interesting.

  • Mike J.

What really gets me is that they think this is actually going to help Obama who was last seen scurrying for cover from the controversy.

  • candymarl

I agree. No human being deserves to be tortured. He made mistakes. He never claimed to be a hero or super human. By this measure every GI in Iraq deserves torture. I had two nephews over there. They both came home safe. I would like to ask these people if they think they should have been tortured.

I remember McCain standing up for John Kerry, his fellow vet, even when it wasn’t popular or his party’s position.

These people, and I use the word lightly, make me sick.

The majority of them drafted into that conflict, I might add.

Yes, moreover Phan Thị Kim Phúc publicly forgave Rev. Plummer, a US serviceman who after seeing the photograph, believed that he had helped coordinate the raid with the South Vietnamese air force.
Phúc was used for propaganda by the Vietnamese govt after the war but was allowed to study in Cuba. Instead she defected to Canada and is now a Canadian citizen, with a perfect score on her citizenship test.
She is also a UNESCO goodwill ambassador. She has given a speech at the Vietnamese Memorial on Veteran’s Day. She has received the Order of Ontario for her work to aid child war victims.

LOOKS LIKE –OBAMA,S KIDS @DAILYKOS-DAILYHATE ARE GROWING UP….WELL STARTING TO …

WTF is up with the Obama campaign?
    by greenlabormike
Mon Jun 30, 2008 at 02:54:33 PM PDT
This isn’t meant to be a “bash Obama” post or a purity troll post or anything like that. It’s simply my look back at what has been coming out of the Obama campaign since becoming the de facto Democratic nominee on June 3rd.

In a nutshell, my observations of the Obama campaing since June 3rd has been a sudden and almost complete conversion into a “traditional” Democratic campaign, a la Kerry 2004. On both substantive issues (FISA) and “process” (Clark’s comments on McCain’s foreign policy experience), it’s as if the Obama campaign advisers names changed from Axelrod and Plouffe to Shrum and Penn. Seriously.

Is the Obama Campaign’s change in strategy since June 3rd working?

Yes! The Obama campaign is kicking ass and taking names.

Wasn’t it McCain who brought up that OB hasn’t been to Iraq in years, and now OB is going. And Hillary that said she would denounce Wright way back in Feb, the 3 months later OB did it. Jesum he needs a freakin babysitter, not POTUS.

  • beebop

I personally agree with you but it didn’t do much for John Kerry. Was Kerry less sympathetic or are they missing the impact of someone profoundly disabled during his captivity?

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFVillarreal Paul F. Villarreal

John Aravosis and Medea Benjamin need to spend 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton and then report back. Until then, they should shut up, immediately. Same for Wes Clark, a man whom I lost a lot of respect for in the last few days.

This is the difference between protesting soldiers and protesting those who gave the orders. You don’t go after men who put their lives on the line with the “Baby Killer” crap because you weren’t there, you don’t know and most of them were doing their best to carry out orders during wars that they didn’t sign up for in the first place.

Many liberals from the 60′s regret the harassment that they dished out to returned service members from Vietnam.

And then you have people like Bill Ayers: privileged punks who could afford to spit on America, bomb government buildings and basically be an all-around spoiled sack of dung poster boy for the furthest fringe of the left who knew he would have family connections set him up down the line and rescue him like some Chappaquiddick Ted.

Most people don’t have those safety nets, and thus can’t afford to be so insanely radical as this fringe which is the BACKBONE of Obama’s Posse.

Guess what? If McCain was so privileged he should have had the option to avoid serving during the war, right? He could have avoided being shot down, nearly blown up on an aircraft carrier, spending 5 years of his life at the Hanoi Hilton and seeing the breakdown of his first marriage.

But he didn’t choose that way out, much as he didn’t accept an early release as a POW that was offered him. The man willingly chose to remain a POW when he could have done a Bill Effing Ayers/Chappaquiddick Ted move and skated on out of doing more hard time.

That, friends, is the stuff of heroes and those with resolve and guts.

That is why I will gladly vote for him if he faces BaJoke. Michelle POS Obama is whining about not making enough money and paying back loans for two Ivy League degrees when she and Bwak made $4.2 million last year.

Barack Obama, and his whole damn coterie of effete, entitlement-mentality losers, is a pampered, affirmative-action pretender. It fits that the well-heeled Pelosi, Kerry and many Kennedys back him. They are peas in a pod.

The Clintons came from humble roots, worked their way up and were never embraced by the Washington elitists. Ever. They loathed the Clintons’ lack of fealty to the fake Washington wannabe regal culture and self-congratulatory tradition.

John McCain is not a perfect man. But he gave his blood, sweat and tears for this country and left some portion of himself in Hanoi after being shot down during a mission for an aircraft carrier which was not his and which he volunteered to fly sorties for. If that doesn’t define his character and demonstrate his selflessness, I don’t know what would.

He could have come back from Hanoi broken and defeated. Instead he built himself up and is in the position he is in now. He could have given up, politically, after the dirty tricks played on him in 2000. But he didn’t. He was counted out early in this primary season but he hung tough and here he is.

John McCain has demonstrated, repeatedly, the qualities that used to make America great. Barack Obama is a symptom of why America is in free fall in its standing in the world.

Everything I need to know about these two men I already know. Each has shown his true colors on numerous occasions. There is a reason why Senator Clinon is friends with John McCain and why she does not have such a relationship with Barack Obama.

    Barack Obama: Moron………….

    by Shade Tail

By now, everybody on Kos has heard about this. Yesterday, Sunday June 29th, General Wesley Clark went to bat for Obama on “Face the Nation”, and the GOP and their enablers immediately went utterly insane about it. Here are some of CarpetBagger’s articles about it:

    General Clark’s appearance

    A little bit of McCainity

Sen. Obama’s response to all of this? Probably the worst possible response of all: He’s backing away from it.

    Shade Tail’s diary :: ::
Even if Obama had snapped and suddenly engaged in mass-murder, I could not possibly be more disappointed in him than I am right now (shocked, yes; disappointed, no). I supported him throughout the primary after Senator Chris Dodd dropped out, because I liked the campaign Obama was running. He staked out his positions, stuck to his guns, and never looked down his nose at anyone or tried to pander to them. He promised change, and while I didn’t agree with all of his politics and knew full well that he isn’t as liberal as I am, he still managed to win my respect the hard way.

And then he flip-flopped on his FISA promise.

Are you disappointed in Obama right now?

You bet, he shouldn’t be wilting under the criticism about Clark.

People who’ve never feared for their lives castigate John McCain and rejoice that BO is “anti-war.” We know BO is an empty suit, he’s anti-experience, anti-thinking, anti-integrity.

I wonder how anti-war people would be if someone threatened their lives, the lives of their children, or for BO’s lot, even their Ipods…

BO is attempting to seduce conservatives with his new defense of McCain. He’s moving to the center because his handlers are measuring the demographics.

Victor Hanson is a conservative writer for the conservative NRO. NONETHELESS, he nails it. As Tomasky brags, Obama will say anything to get elected.

  • MMI

I have heard version’s of General Clark’s comments made by Obama supporters here. I think it is part of the Obama campaign talking point. General Clark’s remark helped draw a lot of coverage for Obama’s planned “patriotism” speech. It also made it possible for Obama to equate legitimate questions about his long-time alignment with Reverend Wright, Father Pfleger, Bill Ayers, Recko, Reverend Meeks, and other radical leftists to criticism of McCain’s military service. He is trying to make it as wrong to criticize him for his radical associations as it is to question McCain’s military service. Unfortunately for Obama, this tactic will only work with some of the MSM.

I don’t remember General Clark questioning McCain’s qualifications when McCain was supporting our troops in Kosovo.

Obama quoted Mark Twain today in his speech. Here is another Mark Twain quote

Each man must for himself alone decide what is right and what is wrong, which course is patriotic and which isn’t. You cannot shirk this and be a man. To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and excusable traitor, both to yourself and to your country, let me label you as they may

  • BernieO

The only thing wrong with what Clark said is that his criticism remarks about McCain could also be said about Obama. Clark praised McCains service and said he had been a hero to him and many others. The Republicans would be smarter to go after this stuff on Obama’s website.
I cannot imagine just how nasty this campaign will be. Obviously the Obama people are willing to be just as nasty and unfair as the Republicans always are so we are now at their level. How’s that for progress?

Comment by let them eat change | 2008-06-30 17:51:21

    Talk it up!

And the division helped them lose – which is what you want to happen. So what lessons need to be learnt? Do not give the divisive bigots a chance to tear down the party.

  • BernieO

Clark NEVER questioned McCain’s patriotism and they know it. He praised his service and said he was a hero. This is probably just their way of sounding like they had nothing to do with what he said when it backfired.

A moment of truth: I protested the Vietnam War. And I had friends that served. I was brought up in the culture that put flowers in the barrels of rifles. And I am to this day anti-war in general. But I recognize the sacrifice made by John McCain and many others just like him. He did what he was asked to do by his country and he paid a horrible price. I won’t sit by and let people defame him. Lucinda, so so so very true. The Vets now have benefitted greatly from what the Nam Vets went through. The support our troups movement must include our vets from former wars, especially Nam. I recently sewed all my husbands patches on his old field jacket, and he put his very impressive ribbon rack on it, and he wore it in public this year for the first time. Some local vets questioned his ribbon rack. He pulled out his dd214 from his jacket pocket, and they shut up. For the first time in his life, someone thanked him for his service to our country. He is an independent, voted for Clinton twice. Obama needs to release his dd214 before he, or any of his surogates say a thing about John McCain. So Disgusting. The upside is that the lack of the veteran vote is likely what lost Kerry his election. Now we have them against Obama, with us. And don’t forget all the other groups that got thrown under the bus.

This has been a hell of a year for Democrats, hasn’t it? We have found new voices like Mayor Nutter and lost old voices like Clark. The give and take are good … sad, but good.

Fire up the Enola Gay, load the A-bomb, and head for hell. Apparantly all who write this crap have never studied history or they simply studied with the Obama’s. Given his claim that one of his great forebearers freed the concentration camp survivors from a boat in the Pacific, how can anyone be surprised at this nonsense. According to the thought processes of Jeffery Klein and Medea Benjamin, every soldier who fought in WWI and WWII should be held up as war criminals, and especially those that dropped the bombs on Germany, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And by all means, let’s hold trials in absentia for the northeners who created and wreaked hell on the south when they freed the slaves. What a travesty that was. I’m surprised Mr. Klein and Ms. Benjamin aren’t demanding reparations from the Civil War soldiers.

You know, I saw his biography on “Headliners and Legends” right after Hillary’s. Hillary’s made me love her even more but McCain’s wasn’t as attractive. He was portrayed as a party boy that unlike Bush, and given his heritage, was expected to show up for duty. He was shot down on a mission and served his time as a POW. He left his wife soon after returning.

He’s not a superman, he may not have been crazy brave, he definitely has his faults, but he has served this country his entire adult life. If you sully his name, I think you sully this country.

  • wac for hillary

Kerry was only in Nam for 4 months. He got to come home because he had 3 purple hearts, one of which was refused by his superior, but because the superior was rotated out, Kerry was able to apply for it himself. I wonder if Kerry has ever walked thru a vet hospital, to see what some have suffered for just one purple heart. That is not the real reason that many vets dislike Kerry. When he got home, and was still ‘in uniform’, he testified(I believe it was a senate committee) that Nam soldiers were rapists and baby killers. Then he went to France and met with the enemy while the war was still going on. Kerry has had his dd214 modified 3 times. Once when Carter gave amnesty. Kerry has never released this document. If he has, let me know. I know I am sounding like a one issue person, but it is shocking that most people don’t know anything about this. Why can’t the Dems vet thier own candidates? Just leave that to the republicans.

  • wac for hillary

You can bet your a** it will. They have opened the door so Republicans can walk through with impunity. How completely stupid they are. Obama isn’t the nominee of the Democratic Party until the vote at the convention, but his supporters have shown over and over again an arrogance and willingness to wallow in the mud. If he isn’t aware of this, his campaign would be doing him a great favor by informing him. If he doesn’t put a stop to this, it will guarantee Republicans will have a reason to be angry enough to go to the polls in November. This is a pattern of his. Let your supporters make the attack, make a tepid apology and the game goes on.

Only if you pay more dues to a couple who have $107 million in the bank. Her campaign is still in $20 million of debt. Small businesses and her staffers are the ones owed the money by Clinton – unfortunately not the likes of Penn.

If PUMA was anything more than a sick RNC front her campaign debt would be finished. I guess clearing it will be up to Obama just as clearing the national debt will be up to him.

They love attacking McCain’s first marriage, too. Of course, a man held as a POW coming home with PTSD and finding his wife disfigured from a car accident is too human and personal to get a pass from Obama supporters on the grounds of taste and human decency. McCain and his wife split amicably and remain friends. He adopted two sons from his wife’s previous marriage. McCain has raised seven children. He has raised a Bangladeshi girl with severe health problems adopted from Mother Theresa’s orphanage. His own sons have served in the military, including in Iraq. Trying to attack McCain’s character, war record and family life are guaranteed to backfire, and especially when Obama has to win Dems with long memories.

Now that Wes Clark has been thrown under the bus (and it was obvious he was set up) how many does that make?

2 preachers that were Obama’s mentors for 20 years
    Obama’s church
    Women
    Muslims
    Jews
    gun owners

    etc. etc. etc.

All but about 2 million got up and continue to follow the bus, with tread marks on their backs.

The rest of us got up, brushed off the tread marks, and went in the opposite direction. We don’t need a bus because we won’t throw anyone under it.

It’s probably already been said, but Obama only throws them under the bus if he is called on it. No one has called him on the other media presenting the anti-McCain lies.

To Obama, everyone is expendable. One problem with that – at some point he will run out of people to throw under the bus.

In the nautical context, “tack” means to adjust the sails, which results in a change of direction or a course alteration. That’s clearly what’s meant here.

    ….

Most people don’t have those safety nets, and thus can’t afford to be so insanely radical as this fringe which is the BACKBONE of Obama’s Posse.

    ….

You claim to be a Democrat, but play the Homophobic card. Obama is “effette”.

You claim Obama is why America is going free fall in the opinions of the World? Have you given consideration to the opinions of the World about torture in Abu Gharib or Guantemolo Bay?

Those that do not have access to those safety nets tend to be the poorest from the poorest states of America. Generally Afican Americans. The hatred spewed here shows why African Americans did not trust Democrats before and if your disgraceful campaign undermines the first chance of electing an African American as President then you should hold your head in shame.

  • wac for hillary

Since Obama does not have a legitimate platform to run on, this is all they have. It shows how small-minded and mean-spirited these people are. I wish Hillary would stay as far away from them as she could get, and I definitely hope Bill ignores him.

  • let them eat change

    Oops. Ditto what campingoutindenver wrote.

  • Ted

Two points. One, the article fails to mentino they have been removed – it gives the impression they are still up and Obama tacitlly supports them. The fact that screen shots were supplied in lieu of links tells us the author knew they were gone. Even though he wrote this above “Please notice the date on her blog. This has been up for nearly a month now.” That sure seems to imply it is still up. At least I read it tat way…

Two. The fact that they were quickly removed says what about the Obama campaign? They saw them, did not approve of them, and removed them. Seems like a reasonable approach to me.

  • Peggy Sue

I’m sorry. I disagree with John McCain on many issues. But McCain has not thrown his military service in the face of the American public the way John Kerry did. But if Obama’s folks do this schzoid attack [Obama who says he won't attack patriotism but then sends out his Obamatrons or lackeys to do just that] it will backfire and backfire, bigtime.

John McCain may have a lot of flaws, many policies that I don’t agree with but attacking a former POW, calling him a war criminal, calls into question every man and woman who has ever served, bled and sacrificed for this country. This is no small thing.

Anyone who can spit or wipe their feet on the sacrifice of the US military should take a good look at themselves in the mirror. Then you’ll see what a true traitor looks like.

We may disagree with the US position on many things, but our warriors are doing what they were pledged to do–to carry out the orders of the US executive. They do this with honor. They do this with distinction, sometimes even with personal dissent. But they do what they’re called upon to do and they do it with valor.

I don’t like the Iraq War; I don’t know anyone who does. I didn’t like the Vietnam War, the war of my youth. But if citizens learned anything, a scintilla of wisdom during the 60s and 70s, it was this: you cannot blame the rank and file soldier for the war on the ground. It’s their lives on the line, their families making the sacrifice and in the worst case scenario, their friends and loved ones being buried day after day.

So, beware when you attempt to tarnish a man’s war record. And beware, ten times over when you and your Annoited One has no war record of their own. It will not stand the smell test. It will only make your candidate look as small, untested, and unprepared as he truly is.

    McCain was doing his job.

NON military people do not understand this — and perhaps never will.

Hillary Clinton understands the military culture.

The Obama people who are doing this are just trash — and Obama is such a control freak that he has to be involved.

We military brats were drafted into the military at birth — we grew up in the military culture. My father retired from the Navy when I was in college.

McCain is also a military brat — something that we have in common.

Evidently the Ayers branch of the democrat party believes that to be in the military and to do your job means that you are a war criminal???

This crap coming from the Obama gang is proof that Obama is UNFIT to be Commander in Chief of the US military.

When you are born into the military culture — it is always part of who you are. Disrespect for McCain’s service to this country is unforgivable.

Of course the military is not perfect — that is besides the point — the military also play politics. The point is that individuals who do their jobs and follow orders of superior officers are following a long tradition.

I also have respect for the Vietnam Vets who worked to end the war because they knew that this was a war that the US could never win, and should never have been involved in.

My father did his job, went on an air craft carrier off of Vietnam — and returned to the States and retired. He said no son of his should fight the war of lying officers and politicians. My dad was a hard core Republican.

Vietnam was a politician’s war — including the military politicians like Gen. Westmoreland.

McCain was a grunt in the Vietnam war — he followed orders — in the military tradition. He was following the orders of the CIVILIAN Politicians.

I hope that the Obamabot creeps pay a high price for their attempted swiftboating of McCain. You Obamabots are nothing but garbage — trash.

Obama is a loser — and hopefully will join Rezko — who will Obama roll over on in order to get a lighter sentence?

Which ” divisive bigots ” are you referring to? The bigots who have supported, funded and voted for Democratic candidates since the Civil Rights vote in 1964?

    Definition of Cult:
fad: an interest followed with exaggerated zeal; “he always follows the latest fads”; “it was all the rage that season”

    Definition of Movement:
A more or less organized effort by many people to achieve some goal, especially a social or artistic goal; as, the women’s liberation movement.

We are a movement, you are a cult. We will bring real change to the Democratic Party. You bring nothing by chaos.

Shut up, punk. This isn’t your election and you don’t know anything about this country. You and the rest of the internationalists need to respect America’s sovereignty and butt out of our election.

‘You claim to be a Democrat, but play the Homophobic card. Obama is “effette”’

Do you know what the definition of ‘effete’ is, Gov’ner?

    Here it is:

‘Marked by self-indulgence, triviality, or decadence’

You don’t get any more self-indulgent than Barack Hussein Obama. When he tossed his 20-year spiritual adviser under the bus he said he did so because Wright didn’t show HIM enough concern. Not because he said hate speech against whites or dissed the victims of 9/11 just 5 days after their death, but because Wright didn’t show HIM enough respect.

    Self-indulgent.

    Know what decadence looks like?

    A line of coke.

It is very easy for those on a pedestal to become effete — as Obama and many of his supporters are and have become — because they have the money and/or supplicants which allow them to become so. When one loses his incentive, self-indulgence often follows.

‘You claim Obama is why America is going free fall in the opinions of the World? Have you given consideration to the opinions of the World about torture in Abu Gharib or Guantemolo Bay?’

    No, no, no.

You want to see the disrespect of America?

Go look at the exchange rate for the pound to the dollar.

    THAT’S disrespect.

Because of our propping-up those who don’t deserve it like Obama, America is getting crushed in the global economy. As you should know being a member of the Commonwealth, when you lose your clout or supposed empire, no one takes you seriously. That’s the position the Brits are in now and with the foisting up of clowns like Obama who legacied their way into Harvard Law School, that is where America is heading as well, to the also-ran status of the UK.

‘Those that do not have access to those safety nets tend to be the poorest from the poorest states of America. Generally Afican Americans. The hatred spewed here shows why African Americans did not trust Democrats before and if your disgraceful campaign undermines the first chance of electing an African American as President then you should hold your head in shame.’

    You’re a clown, a joke.

You talk like Obama does about bitter people: from an anthropologist’s perspective and not from the point of view who has lived any of what he is describing.

In fact, you sound like this clown that comes to my videos all the time and has even tried to duplicate all my video tags in the hopes of drafting off of the views they get.

Here’s the problem with many liberal ideas, and particularly those of a true bleeding liberal like Obama:

They SOUND so good but in practice they WORK really bad. It’s the exact kind of thing that Charles Gibson nailed Ofraudma on during the Philly debate. That is, do you understand what the impact of the pie in the sky economic plans you’re throwing about will be?

You have no idea what’s in the best interest of the poor in this country. It’s like me telling you how to renovate Big Ben. You don’t know Jack, and I’m not talking about your flag, either.

Sit down, close your mouth and leave the American election to the Americans, chap. It’s whiny, ignorant voices like your own that will ensure your vicarious (cuz you’re UK behind doesn’t live here) Messiah’s defeat.

The more people like yourself pop off, the easier it is for people like me.

If you want to keep helping, be my guest.

Oh, and I have never voted for one GOP candidate over all the elections I have voted in, asshat. You don’t know sh*t and you sure as hell don’t know me. Take your ‘supposed Democrat’ crap and get your sorry butt back across the pond to that diminished cluster of isles you call home.

What happened to national electoral sovereignty, you know? No wonder we whipped your guys’ butts during the Revolution.

MissE I believe the reference to the boys of summer is probably a reference to I See The Boys Of Summer by Dylan Thomas. There is a verse so appropriate to he DNC and Obama:

A muscling life from lovers in their cramp
From the fair dead who flush the sea
The bright eyed worm of Davy’s lamp,

I was there and I remember. I was eighteen and living in Boulder going to school when the Kent State Massacre occurred. There was an unplanned, spontaneous demonstration the following day in an area called “The Hill”. So many people were arrested there was no room left in the jail and we were herded into the football field. I’m sorry now for the way soldiers were treated when they returned. There was a draft then and it was either serve or go to Canada. There were draft card burning demonstrations, but McCain came from a military background and it would have dishonored him. Beside his time served in the Hanoi Hilton and the evidence of broken bones and teeth, there is the evidence of his record in the Senate where he sponsored, wrote or cosponsored more legislation, working across the isle as they say, than Obama will ever own. They got away with their smears against Hillary because the DNC and media helped, but God help them now.

But these left-wing nut jobs don’t know how deep the water runs, when they start dissing a war hero’s service to our country. It doesn’t matter whether you’re for or against the war, this topic is touchy-touchy to most Americans.

And it is going to backfire – explode – in their faces.

Yep, just let they keep it up, which I suspect they will anyway, because they’re idiots – we will be cheering President McCain, January 09.

    Hillary or MCain ’08!!!

To decide against your conviction is to be an unqualified and excusable traitor,

No doubt about it, Mimi that is what BO is. He did decide against his convictions, be it Allah or Jesus, to profit from the misery of the poor.

    PeggySue,

    Excellent post.

John McCain may have a lot of flaws, many policies that I don’t agree with but attacking a former POW, calling him a war criminal, calls into question every man and woman who has ever served, bled and sacrificed for this country. This is no small

Yes, McCain may have alot of flaws, and as a Democrat, I don’t agree with many of his policies, but one thing no one can deny is his patriotism and service to this country. And when scumbags like the bloggers above, attempt to dredge up dirt on this honorable man’s sacrifice… well, good luck to them in November is all I can say. The voters won’t put up with this crap. Kerry was a totally different story. But McCain is a hero.

    Hillary or McCain ’08!

    selected one!

Now I hear the choir singing Handel…

    imustprotest That was “inspiring”! :)

Interestingly, Michelle and his girls call him “Stinky” too.

  • DoroB

My dad served in the war…he still has stories to tell. Obama supporters know nothing about the reality of war or the Vietnam war itself. Shame on them.

  • owl06

Totally disgraceful. John McCain is a hero who endured a lot for the country. And as a Democrat, I am completely against Obama’s Web site doing this.

Then again, he has also hosted anti Israeli and black separatist content.

  • The Real Hope

Obama is a despicable creep. He will reap what he is sewing. Just give it a bit of ime. He’s a true fraud through and through. How can his supporters be so deluded? The evidence to support his white collar criminality is presented to us on a daily basis and somehow this turd is leading in the latest Gallup that I saw today. He is running one of those most diabolical campaigns we’ve ever seen. Funny though that he has no backbone.

  • The Real Hope

I agree. I think these left wing nutjobs are stepping into a hothouse that is going to explode. I was never in support of the Viet Nam War, and yet I cannot understand their stupidity in attacking John McCain’s obvious heroism. Alot of people are going to be outraged.

  • The Real Hope

    Peggy
    You are so right!

  • For Impartial Journalism

This is another thing you can chalk up to MSM.

In 1980 and every other Pres. election year previously, both Dem. & Rep. National Conferences were pretty much covered gavel to gavel.

As Americans dumbed down, viewership dropped off. The MSM in their quest for great ratings to sell millions of dollars in commercials cut down coverage (kind of like the Olympics aren’t covered 24/7 any longer either).

Seems like the DNC took advantage of the non-coverage. What Americans don’t see, they don’t know, and they don’t discuss.

So the DNC was able to set a new precedent in 2000 and 2004 for not including all names on the first ballot — something that would not have been sanctioned by voters prior to that.

Now they don’t have to put Hillary on the roll call and they have perfect historical justification for that decision.

The MSM should be required to cover these conventions from gavel to gavel, no matter how boring some parts are. I mean, who would have wanted to miss John Chancellor being carried off the convention floor? :)

Wake up America — you can only make a difference if you know what is going on. Fight back for your right to be informed without prejudicial opinion!

I’m sickened and outraged that they are using the image of this little girl. How cynical and evil these people are. We shouldn’t have been in VN, but to use this child’s suffering in this wasy is beyond the pale.

  • mahaska

Sometimes they even change position in the middle of a conversation.

  • mahaska

    crossed my mind too.

  • mahaska

I live near a naval air station. There are many retired military here. I don’t think they will take kindly to McCain being trashed.

  • mahaska

Now veterans are feeling what we women feel. An attack on one is an attack on all.

  • mahaska

What’s that the prosecutor always says in movies? Your honor, the defense opened the door.
This is gonna backfire big time.

  • Katmoon

Foolish, and cruel of the Obama campaign. This ad hits at the voting block who lived through the Vietnam era, not the young people who are voting now. Those who remember, are the largest block of voters.
The Obama campaign has soiled on itself, in public.
    Filth.

Pagan Power – have you sent these screen shots to Lew Dobbs and Fox News? Super Delegates who are veterans, like Senator Webb and Congressman Rangle?

Would THEY allow this to remain on their web site for one minute?

It was just Clark reaching his Level of Imcompetence.

    >>> McCain was doing his job. NON military people do not understand this — and perhaps never will.

Got that one right. For many of us, it was The Draft or Prison. Given the alternative, I chose to suspend my belief system and exchange energies and small cylinders of non-ferrous metal with other men of my age but a different race.

In restrospect, I would much rather have emigrated to Canada.

Still, being lectured about Vietnam by Hope-a-Dope worshippers whose mothers were still playing with dolls while Mac was in the Hilton (and a few other places) and many fo the rest of us were notching calendars revolts me.

May they have the character-building experience of hearing small arms rounds passing close aboard…

    Pissants.

    Weak sauce
Almost any “community” blog is going to have issues. That includes No Quarter. I could post a long vicious pro-Nazi screed on this site or for that matter a long vicious communist screed here. That does not make N.Q. fascist or radical leftist. Since this site has very little in the way of hall-monitoring (by design) it would take a while before the offending post got scrubbed (if it got scrubbed at all)

Unlike you all I’m not going to assume that HRC views and opinions are in any way related to some of the posters on N.Q. HRC is a decent rational human being; unfortunately some here have gone way over the deep end in their hatred of all things Obama. When HRC was a going concern I’m sure that some of the postings on her site were equally appalling. Those posts got scrubbed but as Larry will tell you it is a Sisyphean task trying to scrub all the trolls and lurkers from a blog site.

Frankly N.Q.ites are the last people to be tossing around rocks as they live in the most fragile of glass houses. That you would take offense at someone else’s blog site is laughable and hypocritical. Pot meet kettle.
