there is a wide divide between the African American community and political leaders in Chicago, even African American leaders. ask the cab driver how he likes Tod Stroger’s taxes. Tod is the real government disaster in Chicago.

many neighborhoods in Chicago are free of violence. the gangs are allowed to run amok by the people who live in the neighborhoods where they prey.
their mothers are generally complicit, saying nothing, taking in the money and doing heavy shopping with it. i have sympathy for the victims, but when no one in a community calls in information about what we see on a video tape, one wonders what we can do for them.

i’m tired of my tax dollars paying for their violence.

All that these constant entitlements wind up doing is creating the corrupt organizations like ACORN, that learn how to get between these handouts and skim, and hold up people trying to run businesses for more money or they cause problems. Until the libs figure out this does not work, it will continue.

If Obama keeps failing to accomplish Soros’ assignments he may not be around much longer. Soros may now realize that the wrecking bar he installed in the White house is stage prop made of rubber.

In Philadelphia last year a young man was taking the subway home from his job managing a Starbucks. Four youth surrounded him on the platform, intending to mug him. Their victim was an asthma sufferer, he had an attack and died before they could kill him with their own hands.

All these stories are about citizens going about their business, and dying at the hands of professional perpetrators. Philadelphia had one mayor who was a hardass, during his tenure the crime rate was down considerably. Were some of his methods questionable? No doubt. But the citizenry of the time didn’t have the sense that they needed an armed guard just to get them home from work.

Senseless death of Felix Pizarro

This is the most recent of senseless youth killings in our area. This young man’s photo was on the cover of the local paper, his story brought tears to our eyes.

I work near to our county’s memorial garden for murdered children. (Yes, we actually have one due to the numerous deaths.)

“It really affected me,” she said. “Here is a young man who had a future, just like my son. My son, he was very business-minded. And he could tear a computer down and rebuild it. It just seems like the good die young.”

R.I.P. Felix and all those innocents who were in the right place at the wrong time.

He was a talker and spent the entire time complaining about the city government and how they were spending all their time and money on trying to get the Olympics while the crime rate was staggering. He cited specific situations and families that it affected and how.

Frank is a Vietnam Vet, has worked hard his whole life, is devoted to his family, and he has been a loyal Democrat who was understandably excited about Obama’s election.

Now he has second thoughts about voting for him again because he has turned his back on his brothers in Chicago by ignoring the crime problem and just supporting a corrupt mayor as Frank put it.

Frank does not have a Harvard degree and doesn’t rub elbows with the elites of the world, but in his mind he cannot rationalize how his government can spend money on an Olympic bid when that money could have been spent saving lives in Chicago including his son’s life who refused to join a gang and was killed for it.

There is a major dichotomy within the elitist world of African Americans like Obama and Oprah and the real world of African Americans like Joe.

many have tried to blame the problem on someone/something other than the people living in these areas, i.e., racism, poverty, lack of opportunity, etc. this is a load of rubbish and an insult to every poor or minority person in this country who hasn’t abandoned their integrity and standards of decent behavior. as other posters have noted, most of these places have long been ruled by dems who have tried every possible solution, except ones which involve personal responsibility, and the situation has only gotten worse.

i don’t know what the answer is, but a good start would be for every decent, moral adult living in those communities to do everything humanly possible to LEAVE, and refuse to raise their children there. flame away….

If we only had a room for that, where experts studied the problem and created an Apollo type solution plan. But it is just poor kids being killed and, outside of us, they have no advocates.

The rich and famous have no desire to reach out to those who do not buy their advertisers’ products. If Oprah was responsible she would ask her viewers to give to schools and libraries books about American History.

The Obamas. I doubt they have a history book in their house.
