I believe that the McCain campaign is mostly in a holding pattern until after the Democratic Convention.

Everyone knows this primary was a pre-wired farce. The fix was in when Kennedy jumped ship to Obama.

The caucuses were shams. Refusing to count Florida and Michigan was outrageous. The media’s decision to favor Obama in an effort to get him elected was irresponsible. Democratic leadership trying to force Hillary to quit and refusing to let the system play out is unacceptable as is the excuse given that they did not want to upset the black base that heavily supports Obama.

The Democratic leadership should have condemned Obama’s church and withdrawn their support once they were aware of the what that church stood for and the hatred the came out of it. Obama should have been a man, accepted responsibility for his poor judgment and character, and dropped out of the race.

Could be that right now McCain is keeping quiet because Obama is sticking his fat foot in his mouth every time he speaks. He’s doing so well self-destructing why get in the way?

Given that this is supposed to be the year that Democrats can’t lose; Obama should be waaaay out in front. Instead he’s got a couple of point, some even within the margin of error, lead. Not a good sign when the GOP still hasn’t begun to fight.

He’s flip-flopping like a fish in the bottom of the boat and some media are starting to notice. Well I’m sure they noticed before, it’s just that some few are starting to actually report his flip-flopping and the anger it has engendered in some of his adoring fans. I like and respect Senator Clinton and hoped she would be our nominee. I just don’t see how that can happen at this point. I don’t see the Democratic Leadership or the DNC allowing it to happen.

The only time they come out swinging is over McCain’s military service or Nobama’s flip-flop position on the war. That’s the line in the sand they won’t let Nobama cross. Maybe crap, but it’s a fact. The GOP will be playing good cop / bad cop in the McCain campaign. McCain will let his surrogrates and the 527′s do the dirty work while he maintains his “above it all” image.

The 527′s and surrogates ARE waiting for Hillary to be out of the picture. Especially now that she taken such drastic (and sickening) steps to repair her relationship to the Obama supporters.

She is the threat to them. Obama is not. There is so much damning information out there about Obama that nobody will take him seriously when the 527′s and surrogates finish with him.

The GOP is playing on a fine line. They HOPE against HOPE that Obama will hold on until the convention.

They are conflicted about these flip-flops so early because the negative fall-out may actually start Obama on a downward spiral and deliver the nomination to Hillary.

On the other hand, they need Obama tamped down somewhat to keep him from establishing a lead they cannot overcome in the two months between the convention and the November election.

Like I said, they’re navigating a narrow strategy.

On today’s Sunday political shows, the GOP surrogates are making a little (very little) fuss over the flip-flops but nothing major. McCain himself and the heavy surrogates are nowhere to be seen.

We can only hope that Obama’s campaign dies by a thousand small cuts before the convention. How his passionate anti-war, personal privacy and separation of church / state supporters react to all these flip-flops will tell us if this man will be imploded before the convention.

I promise you, the GOP will attempt to keep Obama’s candidacy alive and reasonably well until August 30.

CLUE: There are millions and millions of dollars in 527 ads out there already done – but have you seen a single one run on TV yet? McCain is losing in the polls. Why else would they be holding back other than to get by the Hillary factor?

Linda, I have no idea why they are holding back, maybe its the Hillary factor I don’t feel so because they may well have to run against a Obama/Hillary ticket the way things are looking.

If the Republicans wants to fall asleep and play wait and see with Obama, I have a strange feeling that will not work out for them in the long run.

SJ – you may be right. They could easily misjudge Obama. Like I said, it’s a dangerous game they’re playing and Obama has continually defied expectations with his blind followers.

I don’t believe Hillary will ever be on a ticket with Obama. He will never choose her unless he is so far down that she is his only hope.

If he is that far down, she will never agree to go on the ticket with him – why should she?

Timing is everything in this election cycle. Obama will have to choose his Vice-President before the convention ends. If he is so far down by the convention that he has to turn to Hillary, what’s to keep her from taking the nomination for herself then?

Can you imagine how angry it will make Hillary supporters if the DNC forces her to “rescue” the young f**k*d up man from his own inadequacies and poor judgments by agreeing to be on his ticket.

Even the super delegates should know better than to open that can of worms!

I live in CA too and I’m worried because as hill20212 said, Hillary won here. But this state recalled a governor in favor of Gov. Arnold..no experience, he said nothing about policy, just kept saying he was going “blow up the boxes” and macho lines from his movies. College kids loved him.

thanks for your discussion…these are things I’ve been wondering as well, and my thinking presently is that it is the Hillary factor they are unsure of. Especially because we PUMAs and others are “still alive” and quite well (i.e., lots of stuff on Obama; pressure on DNC for roll call and HRC name on the ballot) well into July. Long after the supposed “grief” period and phases are supposed to be “over” and unity abounding.

That said, we must become strategic on our side too. For example, the specific focus should be open convention with HRC on the ballot & roll call (also Edwards); retire her debt;

In the background, we must continue & support TexasDarlin’s and JimJ’s research on the birth certificate. This leads to simply , he is not a natural born citizen. Dual citizenship is possible My guess is that Obama was not born in Hawaii (visit as a weeks old baby in late august to WA; non-likelihood of infant travel on plane in 1961; lack of hospital info,; born “dunham” or “stanley”). The discovery of the fake birth certificate IS serious and should be answered via calls for his public showing of his birth certificate.

Lastly, we let him undo himself, and keep pointing it out in excruciating detail. Let the obamabots wither as they wake-up and smell the COFFEE, not the koolaid. Let them be embarassed. Not all will leave him, but those who stay can be easilly embarassed by their own and Obama’s words and called “apologists” loudly and widely.

I just received a call from Jan Kaplan. He is a supporter calling for the BO campaign. Mr. Kaplan wanted me to support BO since I was an attendee at the recent BO Butte Montana picnic. Pumas what is so hilarious about the whole thing is that I was not allowed in the event along with hundreds of others, and I have contacted the local paper to have research done as to why this happened. Mr. Kaplan expressed his deepest regrets that I was unable to attend and blamed it all on the secret service.

I told him I would never support BO and that I will remain a firm Hillary supporter. I also let him know that I am a proud PUMA and that I will never follow BO into the darkness. I guess they got my number from the Hillary roles since I purposely did not put it on the roster when I picked up my Golden Picnic tickets.

As an update it seems that an individual on the No Quarter blog has called the BO campaign and asked why we were locked out of the picnic. The response was that the metal detectors had gone down and it was supposed to be only for 15 minutes. Once they were up and running again we were to be let in. I cannot believe this since we were told they were done for the day allowing anyone into the event.

I wonder if I tripped the pod people’s radar since I have never been called or e-mailed by the BO campaign. WOOT!! I feel special now!!
