These Are SOME Firecrackers! **Open Thread**

I am out of town this weekend, taking our grandnephew to his first university football game. SO exciting, I can hardly wait!!

While I am gone, check out this unbelievable Jump Rope Show, performed by the Kings Firecrackers at the Naval Academy (apparently during halftime at an Army v. Navy basketball game). I have never seen anything like this. These young women are incredible athletes and performers. Enjoy!

Hope you have a great weekend, everyone. But I still want to know: What’s on your minds?

  • beachnan

Fantastic. They are incredible athletes. What a workout. Maybe if more kids catch on to this, we will see more kids in better shape and with less health issues and it looks like a lot of fun. Thanks
    RRA.

    RRRA,

Those girls are amazing. Just as I thought they couldn’t do anything more stupendous, they did, and they did, and they did.

We needed a “girl” in the White House. No doubt about it.

And since this is an open thread, here’s a good clip from our “girl” Hillary. (A way better way to appear on late night talk shows than O could think of.)

I love to see young people doing healthy thigs together that shows off their talents!

The media stories are so often the opposite.

    Thanks Amy.

  • elizabethrc

What’s on my mind? Absolutely nothing! After watching this incredible display of talent, I am speechless!

  • Choo Choo Magoo

Wow, oh wow! Thanks for sharing this video RRRAmy!!!!!

Totally Awesome!!!! Talk about working as a team. Bet their were some nasty welts from rope burn when they first started learning the routine.

I’ll bet there were a few well muscled academy types that considered themselves super fit and were shown a few moves.

I just saw something interesting on another Blog. Doesn’t the Constitution have something to say about sitting Presidents accepting gifts from foreign sources (certainly $1.4 million would be enough to raise eyebrows)?

  • SoCalDem

It is amazing to see what a little discipline and commitment can produce. Even to the smallest one. I especially liked the crowds response.

  • Onofre’s arm

That’s probably the ONLY reason he is giving the $ to charity, so that he can claim that he is not being influenced monetarily by foriegn sources (too late). However, there is no way to measure the influencing effects that the honorific gesture will have on a man/child who already suffers from dilusional Narcissism. I’m sure that the ultra left wing Nobel committee factored this into their disturbing decision. It was also a rather petulent parting shot at Bush, and utterly disgraceful treatment of more deserving candidates.

    Let them keep it up.

Things are moving too fast – by the time the first
anniversary comes around, this kind of stuff will
more than have aroused a backlash in spite of the
best efforts of the Lame Stream Media not to report
    things.

The koolaid drinkers and the ‘powers-that-be’ are not
in synch and that will do them in……

  • jbjd

Fabulous. Great athletes. Do ivy league colleges award athletic scholarships for jump rope gymnasts?

Thanks, R3 Amy! I enjoy seeing and hearing good news that you and other bloggers continue to bring to our attention. These young ladies make me proud to be an American. Their talent, hard work, teamwork and professionalism are wonderful. I’m glad to see young men in a military school cheering them on.

Anybody any good at something has earned it.

  • getfitnow

They should! McDonald’s use to (may still) sponsor a national competition.

  • Katmoon

Thanks Amy, what a cool video, great group of performers, and a wonderful audience. :)

  • ~~JustMe~~

Oh I do a work out just the same each morning! LOL
It’s easy you all should try it too.

    Amazing talent! Awesome!

I just came from the Harvest Festival in NYC, the scene of an awful police riot 20 years ago. It was great — true left-wing resistance, not the fakers on Daily Kos. About NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg, we sang “Bloomberg Sucks! Bloomberg Sucks!” I like Bloomberg, he’s done a good job with NY public schools. But this was a 1st Amendment orgy. We were just enjoying our right to criticize the Mayor — with an amplifier and a police permit! It was pure American spirit–wild and free. The last singer sang Steppenwolf’s ‘Born To Be Wild’ which is really the same song as ‘Born In The USA.’ God, I love this country.

Then we started in on the President. “Obama Sucks! Obama Sucks!” Can I come home to the left?

Bill Clinton has a charity. Fisher House would be nice. Perhaps he will donate it to ACORNS Legal defense fund?

Pehaps he can pay for the heating bills for an entire winter in his state senate district as a way to make up for his indifference.

Can’t imagine the look on MO’s face.

“all that cheese” and we can’t keep it.”

Thank you sooo much for the video. Fantastic!!

Hey, y’all – Glad everyone liked it. I have to go watch it again – just astonishing. And yes, how wonderful to see this group of young women display their athleticism, grace, and abilities. Wow!!

Speaking of athleticism, we went to the UVA football game, taking our grandnephew to his first live game (he’s 5). We all had a blast, especially since UVA won 47 – 7. Fantastic – and perfect Fall weather to boot! (And it turned out to be prescient planning to be away from my computer this weekend – it kept my focus OFF of Obama winning the Peace Prize, thus keeping my head from exploding. Because you know he is SO much like, say, NELSON MANDELA…Sheesh.)
