Her 18 million votes were real. No fable there. The only one whose record is a fable is Mr. Empty Suit himself, BO.

I agree with Sen. Obama's vote. I would not have wanted that bill to be passed (or, even written that way) but it was. The FISA court has existed since (what?) 1976 and wasn't used as often previously than our current president has used it. There was another bill brought forward months ago that was worse than the one eventually passed.

Of course we can input our perspectives and vote as we choose. But I don't think this bill's passage is the end of the world. There are some stronger protections in this bill than previously existed. Is it perfect? Far from it. Is it a capitulation as many have suggested? No. It's curious that such a furor has been circulated over this after the fact. How many of us were writing/calling/visiting our representatives as this bill was under consideration? I don't know (and whether or not you did you still have the right to state your piece, no?)

Does this show that Sen. Obama is a politician? Well, yes, isn't that what he's currently doing for a living? We're talking about politics. Just like other words, 'politics' has gathered fungus over the years. 'Lobbyist' and 'lawyer' are two other examples that we choose to demean. So it goes. I'm certainly not going to argue for us to treat terms fairly because they might not deserve condemnation from us. But they're only words.

Will Sen. Obama be a better president than G.W.Bush? I believe so. I'm going to vote for him. Will Sen. McCain make a better president? I think he won't have the chance because Bush has pissed off too many constituencies over the past 7 years. BTW, Sen. McCain didn't vote 'yea' or 'nah' for this bill. We could say, "He didn't have the guts! to say what he believed in." On the other hand, maybe he's a good enough politician to know that the bill would probably pass without his vote. I won't condemn him because he's in the race of his life and these are decisions they each make.

Sen. Clinton? I respect her and support her. I like to have her on my side in the Senate. But I didn't support her during the primaries and I also believe that an Obama/Clinton ticket wouldn't be very good. I've been wrong in my political votes going back to the '80s; but again, I only do what I do.

I have been asked (in my small circle) whether the 'Rodham Clinton backers' will support Sen. Obama's campaign, Sen. McCain's or sit out of this election. I don't know but I think many will support and vote for Sen. Obama and a low percentage will either vote Republican or not at all. It's not too bad (whether or not one cares about the respective Sens. votes on women's issues) because it always happens that some of the defeated will join the eventual representative and of course, for whatever reason, others will not. It would be great, but we each inform ourselves and decide (who, if) to vote for.

If anyone can organize the fabled '18 million' to vote as one block then I applaud you. It took Sen. Clinton two years to get to that number and she has money, power, fame, connections, etc. behind her.

"Obama's mask coming off

As you may recall, back in Jan 08 or so, Obama appeared on S&L and removed his mask on national TV. This is the same Obama that has no problem stealing a nomination (with the help of DNC) that belongs to Senator Clinton. I will not vote for him no as he does not need my "racist" vote. remember he said Hillary supporters were not voting for her but were voting against him because they are racist!!! He should be ashamed of himself. I am glad the rest of the world is seeing Obama in the same light as many of us have seen him for a while now."

This is well said,as many of us saw through his mask long ago,why do you think we were and are so opposed to him? BUT ,we were called racists as so many Ob and media people labeled us.Don't some of the Ob rock star fans realise this is a very undemocratic thing to stifle people's dissent ?to me just like the abortion issue and women feeling a little blue comment ,seems we heard that about Hillary in his comment that she was a little blue after the primary.YES she was something but i don't think it was blue.

It's more like his buddy Jesse Jackson said and rightfully so , he was being condesending to blacks in his talks .

Are you actually keeping track of the backward stepping OB's done since Hillary left the campaign? Another thing, that will keep us voting for him but then again we did not feel his change message he was putting out there and his fans were swooning about the NEW kind of politician well, well, it sucks to be a fool! wheres the outrage from people that went crazy over bosnia hype and how dishonest Hillary was supposed to be? Well guess what, that only hurt Hillary and not us. the flip flops OB did in the last two weeks DOES hurt all of us and the FISA thing cannot be dismissed saying like some of his sheep ,well it was going to pass anyway ,so just like in his book he said he was a blank slate and he was what people wanted him to be! Is this what we want ,a chameleon?? a coward? go along to get ahead and damn the standards needed in a president!

We do have a choice and its the convention and to those that say its not ,they are still being blindsided and will let our country get a president that makes excuses and the sheep follow at all costs, the country be damned. the DNC better wake up and nominate the person that has credentials to run this country and has plans for many of the needs the country has problems with. If the DNC hadn't interferred in the primary process and gave Ob the push to being the selected nominee we would be focusing on issues.do any of you notice the issues get pushed aside and OB always has someone misquoting, dissing him or like the interview ,it was a mistake,of course the favorite you are rasist if you disagree! that is getting old and AA people should see through his using this as an excuse no matter how much they want An AA in office. Powell would have been better as well as any number of AA people qualified and experienced. WAKE UP this one of the most important times in our country life and the constitution be waylaid isn't the way to lead. make the DNC accountable .

Since obama and michelle seem to find nothing good in America, although they seem to have had a good life here, why don't they move to Kenya?
They have family there. He has a cousin in politics so he should feel at home.
They do not like Americans. The obots have not figured out the obamas don't like them either. The obots are being used and tossed out like kleenex.

They are righteously pissed and feel totally screwed over, which they have been. Repeatedly.

Yes, but it's depressing howmany of them continue to support him. (And to bash Hillary, of course. Her "no" vote was just a political ploy designed to make Dear Leader look bad.) They threaten to withhold money and stop working for the campaign--but he still has their vote.

"Honey, you've cheated on me since the day we were married and when I was eight months pregnant you broke my jaw and ran off with my best friend. That's it!We are through! Oh, I mean I'll still be married to you, but no more breakfast in bed! That's it!! And I mean it this time!"

Sigh. It's tooooo depressing.

Hat tip to Thomas for invoking the great Paul Simon. I always loved that song. The story goes that Simon was with his daughter at her school bus stop and as she got on the bus she said something like, "Get on the bus, Gus" and that same day, he sat down and wrote the song.

Hey Ted and Francis, when are we going to see the famous antiwar speech Obama gave that nobody has ever seen and that had to be "recreated" to fool his ever-gullible supporters?

To all the bizarre latte-drinking Obama worshipers, feeble minded Obamacons and other riff-raff liberals!
Ladies and Gentlemen: The results of yesterdays U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 110th Congress - 2nd Session also known as the FISA vote...
(Senators and their votes in alphabetical order..)
Clinton (D-NY), Nay
McCain (R-AZ), Not Voting
Obama (D-IL), Yea

Of course Obama- insane diehard activists still defends this flip-flopper of the century, but REAL actions means “little more” than empty words. And sen. Obamas actions are undeniable. Here we have the champion of the little guy the action hero of “Change we can believe in” securing the future of GWB awkward legacy – the death kiss of the Constitution as we know it.
Personally I find it tragicomic that “big-industry” & “status-quo” Hillary voted against it. Even “old maverick” McCain tried to reinvent himself: He didn’t vote at all – with the underlying message: “I don’t want anything to do with it, but I can’t afford to vote against my conservative party.. Not in this year.. “
-	Need I say more?
“That’s the fucking change we all can believe in!”

I hate to link to Countdown, but Jonathan Turley and Rachel Maddow had a very interesting and enlightening discussion about the FISA bill and vote, and Obama’s stand on the bill. Have you seen this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmot0aZy4MM

Do you think Olbermann will have a “Special Comment” on Obama’s vote?

I can't imagine why the DNC is ramming this fraud down our throats. We are in the Twilight Zone!

**BREAKING NEWS** I have heard from 3 different sources there is a tape out there of John McCain throwing a newborn puppy out of a 6th story window in downtown Tuscon. I haven't seen the tape myself, but this information comes from people I trust. It is making the rounds through Democratic circles. Apparently Bob Shrum has a copy. They are holding the tape, but Obama operatives have already gotten their hands on it and are waiting for the general to release it.

It was filmed by a freelance reporter from NBC-3 Tuscon. Apparently McCain had to granny toss the puppy out of the window as he is not able to overhand toss due to injuries suffered in Vietnam. The puppy was a lab-mix and estimated to br around 3 weeks old.

The McCain camp s denying the story, but I think it is important he addresses this. If he doesn't, we all have to assume this story is true.

I can't believe the MSM is ignoring this story!
