Among many other comments which made me cringe, the
above made me angry. A few personal squibs are allowed and if tasteful, not objectionable. Cold,
very cold, IMO

But more important to the issue, does anyone with a good understanding of law think the FBI sting operation smacks of entrapment? The FBI has a checkered past re this tactic. ABSCAM comes to mind.

Also, seems to me every country has a sophisticated spy apparatus in motion. It’s part of global gamesmanship. Everyone spies on everyone; partially because high tech advances mean money in the bank.
Think of the strategy that goes into a football game.

Project that image onto our current incendiary politicaleconomy on a planetary scale. Ian Flemming couldn’t make this stuff up. Anyone can be a friend; everyone is a potential enemy. Seizmic shifts occur on top as well as underground.

What a moron. Read about the Muslim contributions to medicine, mathematics, astronomy, literature, geology, navigation, etc. Such bigotry on this website from commenters. Imagine if someone said “what have BLACKS ever done for society?” But with Muslims, no one cares. One day it might be you who is slandered. Better defend all people so they can defend you later.

What was the point of the article naming conservative blogs as ignoring the story – Seems lots of news organizations did the same. Was the target of the article the spying or a hit job on the named websites.

You name off a master list of communist and totalitarian regime governments and think their biggest problem is Israel? The only thing oppressing these countries is themselves. But not to worry, our dear leader… his Nobel prize in hand is trying to catch us up with them. I hope he is even a greater and more of a miserable failure at this mission as he is at leading his own party. A bigger flop at changing this nation as a whole than he was at revitalizing South Chicago. We can only hope.

Perhaps a more appropriate appropriate answer is that we spy and they spy. We spy to protect our country; Israel spies to protect their country. The ethics of such is where the arguments begin. I don’t blame us for espionage and don’t blame the Israelis, either. When the Israelis use an American is where I have heartburn as that person is a traitor to the US. And I imagine that whatever spying we do with respect to Israel that is performed by Israeli citizens is frowned upon there, as well.
