And, a question. This has been nagging at me and I need some help sorting this out.

How does someone “work on” deciding something?

Once all the facts are in and the meetings are held and the only thing left to do is to decide what you think, how do you spend weeks “working on it”?

Is that like sitting in a restaurant not able to decide whether to go with steak or fish? There’s nothing you need to know that you don’t know, but you just can’t decide? Is that what this is, just a brain fart that the POTUS can’t seem to pass?

And a follow-up question. Do I want someone as Commander in Chief (sorry, even saying the term with reference to this guy sounds ludicrous) who sits in a restaurant after it’s closed and everyone’s gone home, still saying to himself: Steak or Fish? Steak or Fish?

That is exactly what I thought….

There is a reason for all of that rhetoric referencing a decision delay: morale chaos. It helps military commanders of all parties to take uncertain actions that would lead to waste of resources and lives. Obama was not trained in property management and has very little to loose in terms of resources and life, like his counterparts, Fidel, Chavez, etc. is of very little concern to him since he lost his parents early in life. Morale chaos is a general paradigm of purpose in everything Obama does. It is similar to an ad I saw yesterday of Johnny Walker scotch. The ad advocated to keep drinking, that is the message: keep drinking. Yet it immediately says, “drink responsibly.” How does that paradox works? For those who are customers and users of the Johnny Walker drug the keep drinking message reinforces their habit and the “drink responsibly” reinforces their illusory believe that they are ‘responsible drinkers.’

So what’s important is to reinforce an illusion, a false representation of self, a misrepresentation of facts. Pathological liars thrive on that and it is accomplishment they constantly seek and cherish.

What happens to a society whose president happens to be a pathological liar? What happens? It begins to mimic the behavior and accept it as a standard conduct. True or false?

I have been seen that lately TV ads seem much more bolder in their misrepresentation of facts. And some like in the Johnny Walker ad use much more obvious paradoxes to convey their underlying messages.

Hey, Pat. The rule is: no treat then you deserve a trick. Hope never enters this equation. How ’bout this:

No real leadership, no vote of confidence. None, nada, zilch. Polls tanking? Gee, I wonder why?

Can’t make up your mind on Afghanistan? Well, I understand the Dems have switched back on a missle defense to Poland [btw, the POTUS was firm, firm I tell you on superior strategic weapon defense from off-shore. Remember that?].

So, no worry. No candy offered today? Check back tomorrow.

The Administration might be serving waffles.

No leadership? No vote today and tomorrow or for all the days after. We can still soap [and sink] those windows.

And Republicans? Don’t get too excited. Because you’re all on the radar, too.

How does someone “work on” deciding something?

I take it you never worked for the government. First, you have to have some “issue” which needs to be resolved. In order to resolve it, however, you must have a consensus as to what the problem really is that is causing this “issue”. Once you have that consensus, then you have to decide who will work on that problem which defines the “issue”. Now you can’t have the real experts decide how to rectify the problem that led to the “issue” in the first place because they might have some sort of bias, i.e., actual knowledge which might rectify the problem ANd the issue and God only knows we can’t have any people too close to an “issue” actually resolve it because that would mean that the corrective action might represent a conflict of interest.

So you have a problem which is part of this “issue” that is now given to a group of people who have no expertise in the area sitting around a conference room table debating the particulars about this problem, asking all the wrong questions but coming up with great answers such as “let’s have a subgroup study problem X which will be correlated with the findings given by group Y and have them followed up by group Z.

So group X and Y, which have no real relationship to each other and are flying blind, independently come up with two recommendations that will then be massaged by group Z so that it appears in the end that they really were after some sort of reasonable response to the original problem that led to the “issue” in the first place.

The final answer is usually a punt to give the problem further consideration since the “issue” is too important to have only a single review, no matter how complete it might have been because they aren’t the experts.

I’ve seen this s h i t happen.

Nice Cartoon Pat; You know Obama is right, candy is not good for your health anyway, so not getting any from Obama is good for you. Same with health care, there’s no REFORM in the current bill. So forget it. Time is running out. The honeymoon is long over.

Forget the compromise “Public Option”, it doesn’t go far enough and its been further compromised by “opt out” potential. It does seem to me that Obama and the Democrats, this year, have no to little plan for “helping” (i.e., no candy) the people who need a good job or are losing their homes, so no use knocking on their door this year. They do have lots of promises for next year in hopes that you will believe them and be motivated to reelect the Democrats in hope that in 2010 or 2011 they will keep their promise.

This reminds me of a saying that goes something like “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”

I think they may have over-promised and misread many of the people who voted for them. People are starting to realize that there is a price to those feel-good promises and that the price may be too high. Also, there is a difference between good intentions and promises made and the reality of what is really possible or even good for the country.

It may be unfortunate that the only way the government will listen to the people is if more Republicans get elected. I say unfortunate because I do not believe the overly conservative Republican who are now in charge of the party are any better at listening to the people or even care about the people either.

The Obamas actually spent about 30 minutes passing out candy to trick-or-treaters at the White House.

Then they had a reception for military families and for the moms and dads who work at the White House, along with their kids. The visiting children were chosen with help from the Education Department.

It is really very nice and cute cartoon. Thanks for this nice post. I really enjoyed here.

I saw that also. But I think the cartoon was meant to symbolize his fast talk and slow action.
