The Obamas actually spent about 30 minutes passing out candy to trick-or-treaters at the White House.

Then they had a reception for military families and for the moms and dads who work at the White House, along with their kids. The visiting children were chosen with help from the Education Department.

I hope I get a treat on Tuesday, with republican victories in Virginia and New Jersey.
I’m new to their party, but it will be gratifying to see voters paying attention!
A delegation from our area was attending a Tea Party in Nashville today. They were delivering “pink slips” for use in 2010.
The democrats may have deliberately botched health care reform so they can “opt out” of voting on it!

only way the government will listen to the people is if more Republicans get elected.

And it does seem that the dye has been cast: The main stream Republican in NY, Dede Scozzafava just suspended her campaign, giving Doug Hoffman, the conservative running as an Independent (the Sarah pick), a huge boost. If Cristie wins against Corzine in NJ and the Repubs take VA, will they hear us then?

Wonderful cartoon. Very creative.

It does seem to me that Obama and the Democrats, this year, have no to little plan for “helping” (i.e., no candy) the people who need a good job or are losing their homes, so no use knocking on their door this year. They do have lots of promises for next year in hopes that you will believe them and be motivated to reelect the Democrats in hope that in 2010 or 2011 they will keep their promise.

This reminds me of a saying that goes something like “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.”

I think they may have over-promised and misread many of the people who voted for them. People are starting to realize that there is a price to those feel-good promises and that the price may be too high. Also, there is a difference between good intentions and promises made and the reality of what is really possible or even good for the country.

It may be unfortunate that the only way the government will listen to the people is if more Republicans get elected. I say unfortunate because I do not believe the overly conservative Republican who are now in charge of the party are any better at listening to the people or even care about the people either.

Nice Cartoon Pat; You know Obama is right, candy is not good for your health anyway, so not getting any from Obama is good for you. Same with health care, there’s no REFORM in the current bill. So forget it. Time is running out. The honeymoon is long over.
The press now will be looking for the “Scoop”. The dogs are being let loose. Universal Health Care or dont’ touch what we have. Forget the compromise “Public Option”, it doesn’t go far enough and its been further compromised by “opt out” potential. This is a three cup with one ball card table on-the-street-game, and we are going to play and pay.
