Careless or Uncaring?

A token is a token. Especially for a token leader. However, it IS the American flag. And at the least it should be straight:

flag-pin-s

Damn straight.

Every day, I get photos of Barack Obama, via Zimbio, a great site for images.

Granted, in the scheme of things, this is probably minor. Or is it?

  • susan h

While I am not an Obama fan, I know for myself, sometimes these pins are hard to get on straight. Unless he has his mother/wife/daughter/press secretary dress him, it’s not always easy to get a pin on straight. I have a collection of pins (including various flag pins) and they often put the back part on in a strange way or hard to handle. After a while you just give up, and sometimes the pin ends up kind of slanted or not exactly where you wanted it placed on the lapel or jacket. As much as I would like to call him out (and I do), in my opinion, I would have to give him a pass on this one. I am curious to hear what others will say about it.

  • jwrjr

    “Careless or uncaring”?

    Answer = yes.

  • Diana L. C.

    Bronwyn,

I am sure I can get really more bothered by other things involving the POTUS. But I think the thing is that once he starts grating on a person, EVERYTHING about him grates.

It clearly shows a lack of interest in the flag, as if he put in on in a huff (not really wanting to–because I remember the flap over his not doing it before). He’s a spoiled, lazy child.

  • ANonOMouse

That’s the SINKING SHIP symbol. Appropriate for it to be on Obama’s chest in that position.

  • Lana

Can’t stand Obama but can’t get worked up over this. I’ve had pins rotate on me before even though they were straight when I started the day. There’s more than enough other stuff to criticize 0 about. If anybody saw today’s USA Today–2 big headlines:
    http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-10-21-WMD-threat_N.htm
    Report: White House neglecting bioterrorism
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is working hard to curb nuclear threats but failing to address the more urgent and immediate threat of biological terrorism, a bipartisan commission created by Congress is reporting today.

    http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/banking/2009-10-20-tarp-bank-bailout_N.htm
    Watchdog excoriates execution of TARP
A Treasury Department watchdog is warning that a key $700 billion bailout program has damaged the government’s credibility, won’t earn taxpayers all their money back and has done little to change a culture of recklessness on Wall Street.

  • Rah-Rah

Not sure I see the outrage here. Pick your battles – this isn’t one of them.

I suspect the flag has a pointed pin with a round clasp type thing that holds it on. The flag could have twisted, or he was in a hurry…either way, as much as I disagree with his policies, I’m going to cut Obama some slack on this one.

  • Objective Analysis

I am shocked he even wore it. Like he really cares about this country.

  • Drew

Nice! I assume you also posted a pic of GWB desecrating an American flag with his signature?

    http://www.ushistory.org/betsy/flagbush.htm

    Of course you didn’t!

    Drew

  • Diana L. C.

You idiots come here thinking we liked GWB. We don’t like his evil twin on the left, but it doesn’t mean we liked the same type of idiot on the right.

Go home and suck your Kool-Aid ice pop that your mommie made you.

  • Docelder

Bush hasn’t been President for months now. Didn’t everybody get the memo?

  • Diana L. C.

And, besides, many of us can dislike Obummer and “W” equally.

  • Peggy Sue

Maybe you didn’t get the memo, Drew. GW is no longer POTUS. Was GW bad? Yes, he was. But Obama is no better [unless you're smoking something, of course].

  • http://noquarter foxyladi14

maybe he got dressed in the dark

  • Hank

I agree the SINKING SHIP, so sad.

  • jwrjr

That would be a change. Normally he keeps US in the dark.

  • Ferd Berfle

The irrelevant bush-ain’t-president-anymore website is down the hall on the left behind the dumpsters next to HuffPoo. You’ll know you’re there when the stench assaults your nose, Buster.

  • IndayHill

Why not ask Michelle to do her wifely duty as the First Lady by assisting her man dress up properly. Is she not a fashion “icon” as labeled by her media fans? Furhermore, with the huge entourage of staff she has , she can delegate one or two to do this job.Or is it just plain LAZY !More so: careless & uncaring. Proof??? top priority : continuous political campaigning at taxpayers expense while domestic issues are tabled. Foreign problems ?? leave that to Hillary to handle while he enjoys to be a junketeer.

  • Khan Krum

As much as I dislike him, I’d have to let this one slide…

There’s too many other fish (whales, sharks?) to fry.

  • http://www.sonicninjakitty.wordpress.com Sonic Ninja Kitty

Many people are wearing theirs upside down these days (signal of distress).

  • Sassy

Finally I can give BO some credit.
At least he is now wearing the flag pin, rather than pouting about it like a five year old.
His valet needs a refresher course however.

  • terminu

The Obama campaign “O” symbol shows the muslim crescent moon rising over the fallen American flag.

  • Athena the Warrior

It’s the cumulative effect of how he treats important symbols of America. We know he hates the country and regular Americans. Guess he feels he doesn’t have to hide those feelings anymore.

  • TexasMirth

We know he hates the country and regular Americans.

We know and the world knows, too. And for displaying his contempt, he was awarded the Nobel Prize. As far as the pin goes, I’ll take more note when he wears it upside down.

  • confusedinAmerica

Why is it lately when one says something negative about Obama, the come back is well Bush did it?

I thought Obama was supposed to be different.

  • lorac

Do these people actually not know that millions of democrats did not and do not like, trust, or agree with Obama? They keep coming here thinking we’re all republicans. I can’t figure out if they’re that clueless, or if they’re in denial that the dem party was fractured by Obama’s cheating.

  • lorac

    How about ‘acorns to crack’

  • http://! stodgie

drew, button your lip. you sound truly pathetic.

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

Here’s the solution to this earth shattering problem: How to get pins on straight. You put them on when the jacket is still on the hanger. He no doubt has professional jacket “butler” a hanger where puts aide puts his clothes for the next day…

  • http://firefox Martha Washington Collier

He has an aide who serves as his Butler and he still can’t get it right…witness the Mom jeans.

  • Concerned

Sorry, off topic for a bit. But does anyone know what happened to jbjd? His/her wordpress has been silent for some time now and I’m getting a bit worried.

  • Onofre’s arm

I’ld be willing to bet my fortune (such as it is) that Bush can explain to some detail what the thirteen red and white bars stand for, what the colors of our flag represent, and what the stars represent. I would also bet my fortune that Obama hasn’t a clue of ANY of the concepts that have been incorporated with the creation of the flag, and how the flag has evolved over time. Shouldn’t there be 59 stars? After all, he did proudly boast visiting 57 states and he only had two left to complete the cycle.

Obama has NEVER been able to credibly display a genuine affection or pride for this country and it’s people, he simply doesn’t relate. Actually, in written words and speeches, his contempt for this country, it’s people, and our history, vastly overwhelms the phony praise that he begrudgingly is forced to spew against his sad devotion to Marxist ideology. You would have to be an utter fool not to recognize that Obama has little regard for our history and achievements, and he is trying to set a new course for this country that will reduce us to apologetic, submissive, grovelling toadies to the rest of the world, because we’ve been unfairly in control for tooooo long.

He’s his mom’s creation, and she hated this country and all it stands for. She (and his Marxist father) abandoned him, and he’s obsessed with his attempts at pleasing her in order to regain that which he was denied through no fault of his own. He will faithfully pursue the Marxist doctrine that his mother immersed him in so that he can somehow prove his worth as a son to parents who were far more interested in other endeavors than tending to an annoying child. Obama is a Narcissistic basket case, and this is known to most of the people in the world, except for the 69 million easily duped cretins like Drew that voted for him

  • ziggy

There may have been some problems with distribution. I don’t believe Dick Cheney got a copy of it, either.

  • Portia Elizabeth

I saw a post by jbjd here yesterday I think. Are you saying the blog is gone?

  • Drew

Pathetic is getting your panties in a wad if the pin on the President’s lapel is at a tilt. That, my friend is pathetic!

    Drew

  • Drew

That may very well be true, so, was there a big brouhaha over the pic linked in my first comment when it happened?

I’d be willing to bet not.

    Drew

  • HEPT

    Where’s the Mao flag?

  • silverfox

a little bit more and it would be upside down.

    signaling America in distress.

    how supportive.

  • sjc-tx

He keeps that flag above the bed… (On his side of course… Meshitelle has the black panther flag over her side)

  • sjc-tx

Actually considering we have to see that fecking stupid ‘O’ logo plastered on everything, (kind of like hitler and his swastikas), I am surprised he doesn;t wear a pin of that instead of the American flag!

…hell! I bet he is wearing tity-whitys with that silly ‘O’ logo all over them… He is juvenile enough…

  • tillthen

The sinking ship (I hope) analogy is appropriate and funny, but how much of Americana will go down with him? Obama – how could we have done this to our country? Democrats should reconsider their party affiliation. He didn’t do this by himself.

  • Drew

“except for the 69 million easily duped cretins like Drew that voted for him”

Like Drew? You need to check yourself before you call me out like that. I voted Ron Paul, biatch!

    Drew

  • oowawa

This suggests a new children’s party game: Pin the Flag on the POTUS.

  • Joe

    Que Rediculo!

  • Onofre’s arm

Well, at least the morons that voted for Obama got something for their vote, which makes them geniuses compared to the type of bonehead that would simply throw his vote away on a candidate that had absolutely zero chance of winning. This places you somewhere BELOW easily duped cretins, with the comparable intelligence of a toaster oven.

  • tillthen

Wow! Nowhere else on the net can you see such venom, richly deserved, for the Messiah, and his ‘Meshitelle’, and delivered with such precision and passion. The pin, Mao, the Noble Prize, Islam, ‘Regular Americans’, his underwear…

He is good justification to raise the voting age to 26, prevent government employees from voting, with the one exception for those who serve,

  • xyz

26…?! you must be at least all of what…? 27??

Go take some vitamens. It might help you grow up.

  • tillthen

I’ll bet you enjoyed those warm-up rock concerts with the rest of the pop-tarts who voted for Obama without knowing who their own governor is. No, I am 73 and angry that that brainless generation has too much influence on election results, basing their vote on celebrity rather than country. Is that a concept you can grasp? Let them grow up first and see what its like to earn a living. Which branch of the government are you leaching from?

  • ziggy

I guess we’re supposed to deduct a point for a crooked lapel flag.

But I’ll give Obama two points back for going after bonuses to CEOs of bail-out corporations who thumbed their noses at the taxpayers, and another two points for ending the federal prosecution (and persecution) of medical marijuana distributors who are in total compliance with their respective state laws.

  • Drew

So Onofre’s Arm, who did you vote for?

Palin? I mean McCain, excuse me… well, you voted for a real candidate there, didn’t ya?

    Drew

  • FLDemFem

The “aide” in charge of Obummer’s clothes is called a “valet” not a butler. And you are right, he should have lined up the pin with the buttonhole on the lapel. Or put the pin on the buttonhole, which is the normal way for men to wear it.

  • FLDemFem

The reason the voting age was lowered to 18 is that during the Viet Nam war we thought that if you were old enough to die for your country, you were old enough to vote. So if you want to raise the voting age to 26, you will also need to raise the draft/military service age to 26. Because it’s not right to ask someone to die for something they are not allowed to vote for.

I remember the year they changed the voting age..it made me mad as hell, the timing of it, because it was the year I turned 21 and I had looked forward to being the first of the kids in our family to vote. That year my younger sister became eligible to vote too, and it made me mad that she didn’t have to wait like I did. But other than that, it was a good thing.

The US had been sending young men to fight for their country when they were not old enough to vote. Lowering the voting age changed that.

  • Onofre’s arm

After reading my posts you still ask who I voted for? Perhaps my assessment of your intelligence was too generous.

  • cry me a river

He’s sitting there so stoned out of his mind he can’t keep his eyes open. That must be some good afgani weed he’s been smoking.

  • tillthen

I couldn’t agree with you more about those who serve. They should always have voting rights no matter what age. It’s the rest of the mindless, pop, celebrity culture that I object to strongly. They are thoughtless, in the true sense of the word, and should not determine our country’s future. Let them get a taste of the world first. Their vote in the last election was determined by a rock concert. If you think I’m exaggerating the emptiness of these younger people, I can tell that this phenomena is not restricted to that age group. In the sixties, I worked in a factory in NH. Out of 12 middle-aged workers, men and women working in my section, none knew that Johnson was President. The country was safe from this group because they never voted. Unfortunately we can’t say that about the empty youth in the last election, and look who we got – a tool for socialism and communislm – a community organizer. Tragic.

  • tillthen

I fantasize that his supply chain will be caught on the White House grounds, or better yet connecting with him in a limo with his latest squeeze.

    If only…God, where are you?

  • Ferd Berfle

I served at 18 and voted at 18, 34 years ago–and I still vote. As far as I am concerned, anyone who has reached 18 should be required to vote as a condition of citizenship. I’m tired of the few deciding the outcome for the rest and I’m tired of whiners who bitch about the government but don’t lift a finger to do anything about it. It is counterproductive and illogical. It is one’s duty to vote–period.

  • Ferd Berfle

So will you go after the terrorist Ayers, next, Zippy? He’s a criminal.

Oh, he’s your criminal. Never mind.

  • Bill Hansen

I wear a pin on my lapel too.  And I wear it so it is level when I am standing up. Which means it is not in line with the slant of my lapel!
Is this what you guys have to worry about?  He’s sitting down too… so the jacket is not hanging straight either.
