Barack’s “Tough Love” Lectures to Blacks “Condescending & Off Target”
–Harlem’s Reverend James Manning says Jackson’s Testy Comments about Obama
are TRUE–

New York City – Harlem’s energetic and visionary pastor of the ATLAH World Missionary Church says Jesse Jackson’s criticisms about Barack Obama’s
“Tough Love” lectures are TRUE and do not warrant an apology. Reverend James David Manning said “Jackson has no need to apologize to anyone. Senator
Obama has consistently and inappropriately lectured African Americans on morality, talked down to them on social issues and taken the black vote for
granted.”

Jackson, an outspoken civil rights activist, created a media firestorm this week when Fox News caught him on camera last Sunday criticizing the senator
for his proposal to expand government financed faith-based programs. Jackson said “Obama has been talking down to black people,” and then spoke of
castrating Obama. “I want to cut his (Obama’s) n#ts off,” said Jackson.

Manning agrees Jackson’s comment was crude, but says his criticism of Obama is well founded. “Many people in the black community strongly resent how
Obama has run his campaign. They’re unhappy the senator keeps preaching to blacks about absentee fathers when Barack never lived the true African
American experience,” said Manning.

“Obama grew up with well-off, liberal, white grandparents in multiracial Hawaii and attended prestigious private prep schools,” continued Manning. “Barack knows nothing about the challenges of growing up poor on the streets of Harlem. I find his criticisms extremely offensive.”

Other African American activists have also criticized Obama’s speeches. Ronald Walters teaches politics at the University of Maryland and is
director of the African American Leadership Institute. In an interview with the Washington Post, Walters said Obama needs to focus more on how he would help black communities. “We’re not electing him to be preacher in chief,” said Walters.
