The republicans were in control of Congress for what? Twelve continuous years? Through most of the Clinton years right up until 2007. Immediately before we'd had extended republican control of the White House in the persons of Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush that had lasted for another 12 continuous years. You're going to lay all of the current problems of the nation at the feet of the democrats, and blame them because they haven't turned things around in a mere year-and-a-half? Consider the interference that's been run during that year-and-a-half by both the republican minority and the White House; consider the even split in the Senate; consider also how much momentum is involved in the course republican policies have set us on-- the long-term consequences of republican deregulation, for example, through both legislation and the politicization of regulatory agencies. Changing course is going to take a Herculean effort sustained over a long time. There are enormous built-in obstacles with every issue. And on top of everything else, there's 7 1/2 years of total fiscal irresponsibility on the part of the Bush administration to somehow cope with, in a time when the economy is tanking. The guy has run up a tab larger than all previous presidential administrations combined. Bush will be leaving the nation in debt up to its ears. There would actually be a certain perverse satisfaction to be had from letting the republicans stay in control for a few more years. Why should the democrats step into the spotlight just as the shit finally hits the fan? The time-honored republican tradition of totally screwing things up then blaming the democrats for the results is clearly already in play. It's actually about the only thing they've got going for them.

I voted for: Carter (2X), Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton (2X), Gore, and Kerry. I guess that makes me a Republican. The O-bots are too stoned from swallowing Obama’s urea (on their knees with their grateful mouths stretched wide open) to remember something called ‘freedom of thought.’

These Obama Stalinists can go to hell. I’m voting for John McCain, the right-of-center maverick/patriot who Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter hate.

Zee, just to clarify, SF’s mayor, Gavin Newsome, is (unfortunately) NOT gay. He IS, however, very gay-friendly, as evidenced by his decision to use his authority (under California’s constitution and derived from the unique situation that SF is both a city AND county) to allow same-sex marriages.

There is a lot of this banning from so called democratic forums. If you speak out against obama, first you get a little letter from a moderator and ask you to tone it down some. Only my thoughts without any harsh, crude, or lewd name calling.The worst I called obama was obigot.
The obama folks can get down in the sewer with their names they call HRC. Then one day you post something about whether the Dem party wants to promote the idea of obama or are they really wanting to win in November.Then you sign in and you are banned.

WE believe that McCain loves the USA.
Look at the beliefs of Obama in his own words, how he looks at Whites, etc.,not the items shared from others and how they look at him. He picked his church and supported it for years until he could get more by tossing it under the bus. Sen Obama the head of a committee that he is too busy to convene but does not appoint someone to chair until he is up to doing his job? If that is what you feel should be running the top office in the land support him.
There is more to being President than having all bow down to him. He has told many of us he does not need us and we honor his wishes and will vote for one who is willing to accept us as we are.
I had always thought that the parties were open to the citizens of the USA but this year he picks and chooses and let’s the thugs strong arm the caucus and feel that they are really big wheels, (ever think about what dogs do to big wheels?) Cannot figure out if they are Lemmings, The Pied Piper of Hamlin, or just The Emperors New Clothes.
If my choice is between McCain and Obama I will do all I can for McCain.
