The Fort Hood Shooting, And Its Hero *Updated*

More and more has come out about Nidal Malik Hasan and what appears to be a cold-blooded assassination of 13 people at Fort Hood, 12 military, one civilian, and 28 wounded. The biggest piece of news for me this morning was finding out that Hasan was still alive, and one of the wounded. In addition to Hasan still being alive, we have learned he was desperately trying to get out of the military, and that his religious beliefs were radical in nature as this quote, allegedly ascribed to him would indicate:

‘If one suicide bomber can kill 100 enemy soldiers because they were caught off guard that would be considered a strategic victory,’ he is said to have written.

Once again, just to be clear, this is not the belief system of the vast majority of Muslims, but of a very small few fringe elements. All Muslims cannot be painted with a broad brush stroke, just as all Christians, Jews, et al, cannot be categorized by the actions of a few. That being said, in my opinion, this is a horrible interpretation of the Koran, and the words of Muhammad.

For more information on the latest in this case, including additional information on Hasan’s religious beliefs, and posts he allegedly wrote, you can click HERE or HERE.

One of the most comprehensive articles I have seen on this horrific tragedy at Fort Hood comes from The Daily Mail. In addition to photographs of Hasan in the 7-11 he routinely visits, this time in traditional Muslim dress, just hours before the carnage began, it includes a piece on Muslims in the Army and The Psychological Cost Of War.

And this article includes information on the police officer who took down Hasan, shooting him four times, Sgt. Kim Munley:

The heroic policewoman who shot an army psychiatrist during a murderous gun rampage at an army base was today named as Sergeant Kimberly Munley.

She had been on routine traffic patrol when Major Nidal Malik Hasan entered a medical centre at Ford Hood, Texas, shouted ‘Allahu Akbar‘ (God is greatest) and opened fire.

It took just three minutes for the slightly built mother-of-one to get to the scene, engaging the killer in a gun battle which ended with him being shot four times.

In the course of the cross-fire, Sgt Munley, who has a daughter, was shot in the leg. Hasan had managed to kill 13 and wound 30 others before she got there.

Lt. Gen. Bob Cone described her actions as ‘amazing and aggressive’.

‘She was quite effective, one of our most impressive young policemen,’(sic) he added. ‘She walked up and basically engaged him. I think, certainly, this could’ve been far worse.’

Hasan, who was furious about US military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, is also in a stable condition in hospital and under armed guard.

Greatest thanks to Officer Hunley (on the left above) for her quick thinking and action in this tragic shooting. She is truly a hero, and no doubt saved many lives with her efforts. I wish her a full and speedy recovery, as I do for all those who were wounded in this horrific tragedy.

I understand that, as of this writing, President Obama will be speaking again about the attack at Fort Hood. Here is my question: WHY THE HELL IS HE NOT AT FORT HOOD NOW??? Seriously. Why hasn’t he done what he has done so many times now for far less important events, hop on Air Force One and get down there already?? He is the Commander in Chief, and he needs to start acting like it. I might add, not with his “wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president” (emphasis mine) as written in this article,”Obama’s Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting“:

Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned. An incident like this requires a scrapping of the early light banter. The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That’s the least that should occur.

Uh yeah, and not with his blinkety blink blink short statement he has to read from a piece of paper instead of speaking from his heart. Wow. Get down there, President Obama. This takes precedence.

One last thing – you better believe Hillary Clinton would already be there visiting the wounded and talking to the commanders on the ground. You KNOW she would. Obama? Uh, yeah, NO. That is unconscionable, just unconscionable.

UPDATE: This is a good article about Sgt. Munley and her actions at Fort Hood. According to those who know her, she was “born and bred to be a police officer.” I’ll say.

  • Judy L. NC

We Nawth Cackalackians are claiming her as one of ours.

    Sa-LUTE, Officer Hunley!

  • Animal Control

WHY THE HELL IS HE NOT AT FORT HOOD NOW???

It’s either basketball night or they haven’t written his script yet.

  • Docelder

Yep, good people don’t have to be told what to do. They just know and they don’t even have to think, they just do it. You know if the White House wasn’t such a frat house now then that would help also.

Get down there, President Obama. This takes precedence.

Or he could do a “flyover” on the way to a Hollywood fundraiser and have the pilots do a wing waggle as they cross over the base.

  • oowawa

    So . . . This is indeed what a hero looks like . . .

  • elizabethrc

Frankly, the only good that comes out of this horror is that Obama once again shoots himself in the foot.
His actions (one of the first words out of his mouth when he chose to speak about the massacre, was “I”) and inactions are speaking volumes and it’s going to take a lot more than MSNBC, et al can do to repair the image of Obama “giving a shout out” to someone before speaking about the murders.
This time, I think the outrage will run nationwide against him.
    Jig is up!!

  • jbjd

The first time BO’s inappropriate response to this killing was mentioned on NQ, I lacked the stamina to check it out. Now, I have; and I want to… I want to… Oh, hell; look for yourselves.

Yes, oowawa – it is indeed…

Animal Control, you are just too funny. Oh, wait – that probably wasn’t a joke…

  • Onofre’s arm

True grief is one of the most difficult emotions to mimic, and as good an actor as Obama is, he doesn’t want to risk exposure as the phony that he is by attempting to display feelings that he doesn’t really have.

  • oowawa

    I’m sure the bereaved would appreciate a cheery wing-waggle . . .

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

I just watched this myself today and it is really embarrassing. Painful.

  • Katmoon

Good for her, brave young woman. I understand, as per the press conference going on now with Gen. Casey(?) Medics were in the next building over in a graduation ceremony, and came to help when they heard gunfire. Also a young private had just driven up to the parking lot, heard the gunfire, and went in with others rescuing 4 wounded bringing them to the emergency room. Brave, Brave people.

  • Hank

He is waiting for his highest priority coming tomorrow, socialism healthcare. So strange all these events happening at Ft. Hood and Orlando. When the events of 10.2% unemployment and the health care vote that is tomorrow are being forgotten. My prayers are with all the victims and wounded at Ft. Hood and Orlando.

Exactly, Docelder, they know what to do. Obama cannot even speak abt this from the HEART. Heck, I bet even BUSH could have done that much, though I have to say, I bet Bush would be at Ft. Hood already. And that’s coming from someone who has zero love lost for Bush.

elizabethhrc, you are so right. “Shout out” – please. He should have tossed his entire remarks out, and just spoken to the tragedy at Fort Hood. But, no.

  • NomNomNom

lol, NC here too, glad she is one of us

Indeed it is. The snark in my post abt the “blnkety blink blink thing” is when he was talking abt the actual issue – it may not have been in this video – I couldn’t bear to watch him again – he was blinking VERY rapidly – it was odd, to say the least. A bit disturbing, actually.

And Onofre, you are right – he is not that good of an actor.

indeed they come in all sizes and shapes but their actions are always the same.
    HEROIC

  • ziggy

“WHY THE HELL IS HE NOT AT FORT HOOD NOW???”

Let’s be honest. If Obama went to Fort Hood, the immediate accusation would be: “He’s using the tragedy politically!”

This isn’t about Obama or partisan politics. I don’t think anyone should to try to make it so.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Indeed – thank you for mentioning Orlando, Hank. I appreciate that. They are still looking for the shooter there, right?

And thanks for putting the link with the title – I do actually have it in the post above (there’s a quote from it), but highlighting it on its own is most appropriate.

Interesting that the article came from both Chicago and NBC, isn’t it?? I mean, NBC??? Wow…

  • oowawa

as good an actor as Obama is

You’re right, Onofre’s arm, Obama is good at playing Thee One, fledgling National Messiah and Saviour, but I don’t think he will win any Oscars for a really dramatic role–especially one that involves projecting deep pain and sorrow . . .

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Not to answer my own comment or anything, but they now have the suspect, Jason Rodriguez, in custody.

  • Hank

Orlando shooter was caught at his mothers house.

  • NomNomNom

It wasn’t 3 am. He’d have been ready at 3 am. Srsly.

  • Onofre’s arm

The accusation that he would be using it politically is something that Obama has brought on himself. He heads an admistration that has adopted a mantra of “Never let a catastrophe go to waste”.

The more we know about Obama, and the more we make note of his self serving activities, the more you can expect all he says and does to be met with well deserved cynicism. He’s EARNED this assessment.

  • steve1

She is truly an American hero!!!!!

  • Onofre’s arm

    Narcissists don’t have those feelings.

  • Chris Vosburg

Re the statement you have ascribed to him, it is not yet determined whether Hasan was the author of the posting.

    Read more here.

Why Obama should rush to Fort Hood after the fact, I cannot say; it sound crazy to me. Is this a sort of petulant reaction to Dubya’s “pet goat in the headlights” moment, by any chance?

  • ziggy

Claims of evidence for the assessment often seem to precede the occasion. He’s in the dammed if you do, damned if you don’t zone. Some people dropped him there before he’d even taken office.

Which is all I’ll say on the subject, because I really don’t think Fort Hood should be made part of that debate. To me it seems disrespectful to the people directly caught up in the tragedy.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Exactly – it ISN’T abt partisan politics. It is abt a Commander in Chief going to one of the largest bases in the US which just suffered a HUGE tragedy. As the president, he should be there – ANY president should be there. That is the point.

  • Obama: Dubya 2 Electric Boogaloo

He’s the goddamned commander in chief. He sure as hell should be there. WTF?

  • AF catfish

FYI there was a fascinating interview on NPR Monday with a Muslim reformer. We do have to talk about Islam whether we like it or not. This reformer has very real concerns about his own religion, the transcript is here http://www.npr.org/templates/transcript/transcript.php?storyId=114278941 .

  • ziggy

He’s the Commander in Chief. Should he have been at Dover?

  • Scout

Wow, he seems so uninspired by the murders, it was almost like talking about it was putting him to sleep.

And the “shout out”–so immature. If I never again hear that phrase from an American president, it will be too soon.

  • ImaLindatoo

Great post. Let’s hear it for the Ladies!!!

Nice to see such a more comprehensive piece by…UK :(

I was absolutely shocked at our nonLeader presidenot Obama.

In Obama’s forever need of attention, praise, applause …and c a m e r a s…oh, and let’s not forget his bff, TOTUS, he soooo inappropriately chose to address the “horrific” attack at a Conference of Native Indians (we won’t talk about how insensitive THAT was) and felt the need to have his audience “all fired up and ready to go” so he could give “a shout out”, before addressing the shooting.

    Is this narcissist insane?

No, he couldn’t, like a real leader, address this attack in it’s own time slot, or before he spoke at the conference. Nooooo, he just wanted to casually do another Shout out for his dogs that just got shot up in a very a bad form, and secondary.

I don’t have to guess what Hillary would have done.

We remember, as I noted on another post, when Hillary was scheduled to speak in DC at a conference, when she was candidate for President, and a sick man took hostage and seized control of a campaign office in NH…I believe Nashua? She didn’t even want to jeapordize the situation, feeding the man’s feelings one way or the other, she chose not to even walk on the stage, let alone not speak about her or her campaign. She simply cancelled her appearance due to situation. And as normal, worked behind the scenes for the safe conclusion.

    That is leadership.

  • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

This is Obama’s 9/11, especially IF they establish that this was Hasan’s jihad and/or that he may have had contact with radical muslim groups.

Obama would do himself a favor by keeping his mouth shut right now. Don’t forget WHO ( the muslims) he was going to side with in his writings if there ever was a confrontation. This will dog him in some form and it should!

This is poison anyway you look at it.

Don’t get the idea I support Obama in any way, shape, or form. I do not.
But, the speculation needs to die down so the truth can come out.

  • ImaLindatoo

I also heard on FOX that the Hasan was giving away his furniture that morning and handing out Korans before the shooting.

I think the military is going to have to realize some lessons they need to learn.

And, thank goodness for the Hero. She obviously saved many lives.

  • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

It’s part of the problem of Obama.

As I scan through right leaning and left leaning and neutral websites regarding this incident. Many do not really recognize Obama as a leader. It’s like he needs to be voted off the island because he hasn’t established himself as anything more than a self-absorbed campaigner. The whole meaning of CIC is lost. His lack of rapport or experience with the military makes him even less palatable as a leader.

Back to the origins of this post. Ms. Munley is a steely-eyed police officer. Good for her and a speedy recovery!

    Sorry for the double post….

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

While I was touched by the gathering today by the authorities at Ft. Hood, it seemed so incredibly strange that there was no POTUS there standing at the forefront of support and solidarity. I can’t believe those in attendance didn’t feel it was like a knife in their collective backs.

  • http://firefox AnnieCarmel

I’d like to see a demand for Ms. Munley to be awarded the highest civilian metal for saving many lives.

Do we really believe the current POTUS will give any award to a woman who took down a Muslim killer even if pressured from a grateful public?

  • Hank

We have a CIC that is still in campaign mode. He flies all over the world when it’s about him. We had a domestic shooting at Ft. Hood that involved our brave soldiers who risk their lives while fighting two wars. Obama you were elected (selected) to be POTUS stop campaigning and go pay respect to the people of Ft. Hood and Killen, Tx. We know your socialistic agenda surpasses everything else.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Yes, Katmoon, you’re right. I am pretty sure there will be a post on this later on today.

Btw, can I just say, you handled yourself well earlier today when under attack. You’re one helluva woman, Katmoon! :-)

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Thanks, IALT. There is no doubt Sgt. Munley saved more lives by taking the action she did. No doubt. She is one courageous, brave woman, that’s for sure,

YES – that is exactly what I mean. Obama’s sheer lack of leadership, never mind just plain COMPASSION, is the problem. I still cannot get over his complete inability to even speak extemporaneously abt something so tragic! How can the C-i-C be so cavalier at such a devastating time? Shocking.

Hillary Clinton, either of the Bushs, Bill, any other president would have gone as soon as the all clear was given. You know they would. Hillary has a great relationship with the military anyway – because she has proven to be a great ally to them – and she would have been there with the families and wounded. Not for a photo op, but because she genuinely CARES abt them.

This isn’t abt partisan politics, or making this horrible tragedy political – it is abt what the Commander in Chief should do when such a heinous act is committed at one of our military bases. It’s that simple.

  • Katmoon

Thanks RRA, kind of felt like an ambush at one point. I however, should have not suggested, an act of violence,(cyber face slapping) I know better, I allowed my upset to get the best of me.Also, I have let the blue language flow freely, so trying to put a lid on that a bit. Thank you for posting this story, I read it earlier and had a hunch you might be posting a story on Sgt. Munley. The General gave a H/T to the first responders today, so I am sure the Army will recognize her heroism.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Agreed, Annie. His spokes-weasel said he would go when they have a memorial. Well, that’s just jake, but he should have been there right now. It IS a knife in the back. What does he have that is more important right now? Even at the press conference this morning, he barely spoke abt Ft. Hood, and went into a whole “I’m doing great things for the economy” spiel. He jogged back up the steps, and could not WAIT to get back into the Oval Office. No moment of silence, no NOTHING. Just flags at half staff until Nov. 11. He said it was a small token – he actually told the truth on that one.

  • ImaLindatoo

    Exactly.

And, Hillary gains the admiration and support because of her smart decisions and actions. Like with Larry when he spoke with her. How she listened and asked the right questions.

Just like leaders around the world. That’s why they admire the Clintons. They’re are not empty figures having their strings pulled. They are involved, intelligent and compassionate. Like her recent trip in Europe when they were awarding a peace deal with Turkey…and it was falling through…she was speaking with parties in the car on two different cell phones.

The other Diplomats allowed Hillary to take reigns and solve it as she did. Onl Hillary spoke afterwards.

That’s why Obama has no respect from the rest of the world’s leaders. They see him for what he is, not what he tries to market to the naive American.

  • Sassy

Amy, thank you so much for the photo of this brave woman! It is certain that she was poised and professional and she is truly a hero!
I remember Hillary attending the funeral of the motorcycle patrolman who was killed while leading her motorcade. I do not doubt, for one minute, that she would have gone to Fort Hood asap!
I heard this afternoon that this assassin is paralyzed. He will not betray anyone else!

It just hit me why the CIC is not or was not a Ft. Hood. He is trying to get votes for his Health Care reform that we don’t want. The democrats are having a hard time getting their votes needed for this weekend. I believe they have postponed it till Sunday as of now.

On the positive the office of ACORN in New Orleans were raided today. A negative for Obama! He probably warned them months in advance.

  • Kim

Rapid blinking while speaking is usually an indicator of being deceptive.

  • jbjd

BiBL, the only liberal sites that seemed to support BO, were those whose readers judging by their comments, had only seen the part of the speech that began with the acknowledgment of the tragedy, and not the previous 2 (two) minutes, which included the shout-out to the audience member (albeit another member of indigenous peoples, and a Congressional Medal of Honor Winner).

  • morris1030

Thank you, Katmoon. I appreciate your posting that here. Well done.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

You got it, Hank. I think that’s exactly why!

LOL abt warning the ACORN offices – except that’s probably true…

  • jbjd

I wish after more than a year and a half of observing this disaster, people would stop focusing their anger on BO; he did not enable himself into the WH. Instead, go after the cabal who put him there, starting with Nancy Pelosi. She is the one who signed those Certifications of Nomination swearing he was Constitutionally qualified for the job, to get his name printed on the ballots; and then refused to respond to requests to disclose the basis for this Certification. Obviously, she and her co-conspirators chose BO because they could get him elected, and not because he would make a good President.

  • Lana

Looking at the crimes Obama has spoken out about:
Gates gate (not really a crime): white police officer acted stupidly
Fort Hood tragedy: Ah, um, horrible tragedy, um, … and today I see a headline that he says we shouldn’t jump to conclusions about the shooter–since he is Muslim
Crime he did NOT speak out about: the horrible 2 1/2 hour gang rape of a 15 year old

So glad that a WOMAN took out that shooter. Maybe That One will have to show some respect.

I understand that in the heat of the moment, things are said that might be better left unsaid. That’s the thing abt being human, after all.

Still, I think people sometimes forget that there are actual human beings on the other side of the computer screen. For someone to attack you on this issue, with the sacrifice your children are making, was way out of bounds (you might notice that the offender was put in Time Out).

I, too, hope Sgt. Munley will be recognized for her heroism. Like you, I’d be surprised if she wasn’t (and thanks for the compliment – lovely!). She’s amazing…

While I can agree that most Muslims want to go about their daily lives without making any trouble for anyone, the same could have been said of citizens of Nazi Germany, Soviet Union, or Imperial Japan (most didn’t want to send their neighbors to concentration camps, the Gulag, etc.). The problem is a huge conflict of ideology, and one side’s willingness to promote integration and tolerance, and the other’s not wanting it at all.

Islam is not a religion of peace… it is a religion of violence:

He’s a walking contradiction. He’ll praise the Israelis (if they’re who he’s addressing) one day, and the next day he’ll blame the Israelis for all of the problems in the ME when speaking to Palastinians. He’ll attend a blatantly racist/Marxist church for twenty years, then he has the chutzpa to lecture all of us about racism, and then accuse a white policeman of acting stupidly before he knows the facts, almost defining his prejudices.

His inconsistant and duplicitous behavior will naturally lead us to consider everything he says and does as suspect. He’s the boy who falsly cried “Wolf” too many times so we are left to wonder the truth of it when he cries it again. He’s been proven to be a pathological liar, so it would be foolish to believe the sincerity of anything he does.

So, yes, he’s damned if he does, and damned if he doesn’t, because the motives for ANYTHING he does should always be viewed with extreme skepicism, and he has no one to blame for this but himself.

  • Katmoon

    RRRA,
I think we have all forgotten how to disagree, without worry, not here, but in life in general. For a time if you disagreed with the war you were thus and such,if you disagreed with either administration and so on; to the point most people are very defensive. I can be, and I have to be clear what I am being defensive about, you know I am with my soldiers. WHO protect all of us, even those who criticize them.

I am fair game because of my own posts, and sometimes Ferd’s; the kids serving only makes a difference if I am attacked on that point. I volunteered to be put in time out also, as what it should be. Own my mouth or fingers in this case. Own my actions.

I am thinking the Army will probably have a ceremony of their own and honor those who acted to save and to help; just like needing a time out when we go too far, people must be recognized for their acts of pure selfless courage as well. This young woman, and her selfless act saved more lives than we will ever know.

  • Lana

I admire your work, jbjd, but can’t agree with you on this one. Pelosi et al could not have done this without a willing participant. At any step in the process, he could have said no. He didn’t. I am angry and will continue to be until this lying, cheating, fraud is out of office.

No doubt that Sgt. Munley saved a number of lives. I think it is safe to say (now) that this was premeditated, and Hasan was going to take out as many people as he possibly could. Without Munley, there might be far more dead, fewer injured…That kind of action, selfless action, is just amazing.

See, this is the thing, Katmoon – you are willing to take responsibility for your words and actions. That is in short supply these days, it seems. We seem to have gotten away from that, as well as just common courtesy, and the language of same.

Anyway, I appreciate your comments, and Ferd’s. I appreciate your taking responsibility, too.

This is from “Freedom’s Enemies” last year so the percentages are greater now. I believe in some of the Nordic countries, it has greatly increased. In the US, Muslims have begun to speak (through one of the “Czars”) about Sharia law being appropriate and Sharia financial system should be implemented for Muslims in the US. And we have a POTUS who has budgeted $200m for Hamas immigrants to be brought to the US.

Islam is not a religion nor is it a cult. It is a complete system.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic and military components. The religious component is a beard for all the other components.

Islamization occurs when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their so-called “religious rights.”

When politically correct and culturally diverse societies agree to “the reasonable” Muslim demands for their “religious rights,” they also get the other components under the table.

Here’s how it works (percentages source CIA: The World Fact Book (2007)).

As long as the Muslim population remains around 1% of any given country they will be regarded as a peace-loving minority and not as a threat to anyone. In fact, they may be featured in articles and films, stereotyped for their colorful uniqueness:

    United States — Muslim 1.0%
    Australia — Muslim 1.5%
    Canada — Muslim 1.9%
    China — Muslim 1%-2%
    Italy — Muslim 1.5%
    Norway — Muslim 1.8%

At 2% and 3% they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs:

    Denmark — Muslim 2%
    Germany — Muslim 3.7%
    United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
    Spain — Muslim 4%
    Thailand — Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population.

They will push for the introduction of halaal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature it on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. (United States).

France — Muslim 8% Actually, now up to about 11% since this was published.
    Philippines — Muslim 5%
    Sweden — Muslim 5%
    Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
    The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
    Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islam is not to convert the world but to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims reach 10% of the population, they will increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions (Paris — car-burnings). Any non-Muslim action that offends Islam will result in uprisings and threats (Amsterdam — Mohammed cartoons).

    Guyana — Muslim 10%
    India — Muslim 13.4%
    Israel — Muslim 16%
    Kenya — Muslim 10%
    Russia — Muslim 10-15%

After reaching 20% expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings and church and synagogue burning:

    Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%

At 40% you will find widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks and ongoing militia warfare:

    Bosnia — Muslim 40%
    Chad — Muslim 53.1%
    Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%

From 60% you may expect unfettered persecution of non-believers and other religions, sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels:

    Albania — Muslim 70%
    Malaysia — Muslim 60.4%
    Qatar — Muslim 77.5%
    Sudan — Muslim 70%

After 80% expect State run ethnic cleansing and genocide:

    Bangladesh — Muslim 83%
    Egypt — Muslim 90%
    Gaza — Muslim 98.7%
    Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%
    Iran — Muslim 98%
    Iraq — Muslim 97%
    Jordan — Muslim 92%
    Morocco — Muslim 98.7%
    Pakistan — Muslim 97%
    Palestine — Muslim 99%
    Syria — Muslim 90%
    Tajikistan — Muslim 90%
    Turkey — Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates — Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of “Dar-es-Salaam” — the Islamic House of Peace — there’s supposed to be peace because everybody is a Muslim:

    Afghanistan — Muslim 100%
    Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
    Somalia — Muslim 100%
    Yemen — Muslim 99.9%

It is good to remember that in many, many countries, such as France, the Muslim populations are centered around ghettos based on their ethnicity. Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. Therefore, they exercise more power than their national average would indicate.

    *************************

I don’t think it is a fringe element. Until you take Muslims for what they are, and there is plenty of evidence world wide, that they see us as the enemy and plan on, and are, taking over western govs by immigration and forcing their barbaric ways on the populist, America will be next. Already we are afraid to call it what it is, a Jihad. Jesus if I hear ,”we may never know why he did this” one more time I will scream. We know why he did this and why millions of Muslims will follow and are following in his footsteps each day. Muslim riots in France,England, Netherlands, murders directed @ anyone who speaks out against this insanity.Radical Islam spreading across Africa. Abuse of Woman and children. You see they have to keep the woman under control, how else would they be able to repopulate the west and who else is capable of producing 6 yr old “wifes” to be abused by their 70 year old “husbands”

Lana, BO has demonstrated himself to be incapable of introspection. So, get angry with him; but take action against Nancy Pelosi and everyone else who lied to state election officials to get his name printed on state general election ballots. Because if we cannot even learn enough about the system to compel our state officials to enforce existing election laws, laws which at this point offer the strongest legal means of getting BO out of the WH; then what difference does it make to change the laws, or elect different officials?

Ziggy, you know the definition of FUBAR and no doubt, you’ve seen it on occasion.
While I agree BO is dammed, it is not because “some people dropped him there”. HE did this all by himself.

Starting with sitting in a church for 20 years listening to “GOD DAMN AMERICAKKK!” and lieing about it too.
He can’t disown Rev. Wright becasue the fool was at the White House, paying BO a visit, along with the murderer Bill Ayers and Kalidi.

Quite right, Chris – I meant to put “allegedly” in there. It was an oversight, and I appreciate your bringing it to my attention. I will correct it right now.

If I understand you, you think Obama should NOT go to Fort Hood to meet with the families of the victims or the wounded after this horrible attack? If that is indeed what you are saying, I could not disagree more. This is one of our largest military bases, one from which many of our troops go off to war, as they were preparing to do. Obama should be there as the Commander in Chief. Period.

    RRRA,

Thank you for posting this story. I also applaud the bravery of Sgt. Munley and my heart goes out to the families of those gunned down in this horrible incident. All my wishes for a speedy and successful recovery for Sgt. Munley and all others who were wounded.

I agree with about the President’s actions as well (and the lack thereof). This ramifications of the incident are indeed terrifying and if Hasan (and it sounds like there were), Ms. Napolitano et al better start sharpening their pencils and making sure that there are no others falling through the cracks so that something like this cannot happen again. Her time would be better spent doing this than declaring “right wingers” terrorists.

I was on Flopping Aces last night when the wife of Spc. Jason Hunt was online while desperately texting, phoning her husband of 2 months and failing to get an answer. She stayed online until the military came to her home to officially notify her.

Fort Hood shooting claims former Oklahoma resident

    11/06/2009

    Associated Press

A recently married, 22-year-old soldier from southwest Oklahoma was one of the 13 people killed in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, his mother said Friday.

Gale Hunt of Frederick said two uniformed soldiers came to her door at 11:30 p.m. Thursday to notify her of the death of her son, Spc. Jason Dean Hunt.

She said her son entered the military after graduating from Tipton High School, and had served three and a half years, including a stint in Iraq. He was previously stationed at Fort Stewart in Georgia.

Hunt said her son was married two months ago. He re-enlisted for an additional six years after serving his first two-year hitch. She described him as family-oriented.

“He didn’t go in for hunting or sports,” she said. “He was a very quiet boy who enjoyed video games.”

Hunt said the military told her that her son’s body will be flown to Dover, Md., before final burial arrangements are made.

Kathy Gray, an administrative assistant at Tipton Schools, said Hunt, known as J.D., started attending school in Tipton in elementary school and graduated in 2005.

“He was a real quiet kid, just kind of a quiet boy and a good kid, very kind,” Gray said.

Superintendent Shane Boothe said school officials are planning to have a moment of silence Friday night at the Tipton football game against Thackerville and will plan other memorials.

The mother who brought down the Fort Hood killer

    Chris Ayres
    in Fort Hood, Texas
    Timesonline.co.uk
    Nov. 6, 2009

A police officer and mother of one was hailed a heroine yesterday after it emerged that she almost single handedly ended the massacre at America’s biggest military base.

Kimberly Munley does not look as if she would be much of a match for a heavily armed US soldier on a murderous rampage. But the slightly built 34-year-old civilian officer was first on the scene after Major Nidal Malik Hasan began firing on comrades at Ford Hood in Texas as they prepared to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq. The 39-year-old psychologist killed 13 and left 31 others with serious injuries.

On Thursday afternoon Ms Munley was doing her usual job of directing traffic on the sprawling base. By chance, she and her partner happened to walk past the Soldiers’ Readiness Processing Centre soon after Major Hasan — armed with two handguns — cornered his fellow soldiers. Soldiers who witnessed the rampage described the gunfire as continuous, methodical and well aimed.

Ms Munley succeeded in bringing him down by shooting him four times, even after being hit by a bullet that passed through both her legs, according to witnesses.

Her swift reaction and courage were being praised last night for preventing many more deaths.

“It was an amazing and aggressive performance by this police officer,” said Lieutenant-General Robert Cone, Fort Hood’s commanding officer. “The critical factor here was her quick response to the situation.”

    (to be continued below)

  • http://N/A breeze

Ms Munley, the mother of a three-year-old girl, is in a stable condition, with injuries to the upper leg and thigh. General Cone said her fearless response to the gunman had saved countless lives. Trained in active-response tactics, she rushed into the building where he was shooting, and confronted him directly. Officials confirmed that she had continued firing even after being hit.

Those who treated the police officer said that her first request after being taken to hospital was to call her colleagues and friends to let them know she was OK — and to find out about casualty numbers.

Her stepmother, Wanda Barbour, said Ms Munley was an oustanding police officer. “She’s concerned about all the people who’ve lost their lives,” she said. “We’re just real proud of her and so grateful and thankful to the Lord that she’s going to be okay.”

General Cone said that Ms Munley’s actions demonstrated that an aggressive response to a mass-shooting can save lives. “She walked up and engaged him,” he said.

SJ, when I heard those words come out of Obama’s mouth, I couldn’t believe it. Wow. Especially since we already knew a good bit abt Hasan by that time. Maybe he meant we needed to wait until we had seen the video from the 7-11, found out what Hasan cried out as he started to shoot, or maybe after we found out Hasan had been planning to die, apparently, giving away his worldly goods…

    Ahem.

I was watching Fox News this afternoon (Shep), and they had a fascinating phone conversation with an imam who had been trying to find a Muslim wife for Hasan, with no success. He said that he required a Moslem wife who would wear a hijab and pray 5 times a day. I’ve been trying to find a transcript of that conversation, so far with no success.

  • Ferd Berfle

He said that he required a Moslem wife who would wear a hijab and pray 5 times a day.

I don’t know about you, oowawa, but I think life with a wife in a walking prison who prays all day might get a bit boring after, say, a week.

From what I can tell, this is from a book by a man named Dr. Peter Hammond from Frontline, and evangelical Christian missionary organization, http://frontline.org.za/INDEX.HTM

The title of the book is Slavery, Terrorism, and Islam.

I cannot say with complete assurance anything absolute abt his methodology, but I do find it, um, ironic, that he would be talking abt the proselytizing by Muslims when his organization does the same thing for Christianity.

    Just a heads up.

  • oowawa

Yeah Ferd, but if you just wanted to kick back and watch 10 or 12 hours of football, you could just send her off to pray . . .

I found another reference to the factoid I mentioned above:

The former imam, Faizul Khan, said that Major Hasan had wanted to marry an equally religious woman but that his efforts to find one had failed.

“He wanted a woman who prayed five times a day and wears a hijab, and maybe the women he met were not complying with those things,” the former imam said.

  • Ferd Berfle

Yeah Ferd, but if you just wanted to kick back and watch 10 or 12 hours of football, you could just send her off to pray . . .

Yeah, except my Sooners are having an off year so I’m not watching as much. Maybe I ought to go pray, huh?

This is all so sad and dispicable at the same time. I went to Flopping Aces web site yesterday and it was surreal. A young woman was posting on the site, saying that her husband was stationed at Fort Hood. They were newly married (2 months ago), and she was waiting to hear from him. As time wore on and she had yet to hear from her husband, she was becoming more and more frantic. Sadly, there was a break in time from her posting, and when she posted again, she informed everyone, that the military had just been to her home to let her know that her husband, Jason Hunt, was one of the victims. It was so incredibly sad. All their hopes and dreams shattered by a madman. There are no excuses for this madman’s behavior and anyone who wishes to make excuses for this man, should have to deal with the grieving mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, wives, husbands, and friends of the victims. God bless these grieving people and give them strength during this difficult time.

Ferd — you are assuming in your comment that you and a woman you would have as your wife are equals in every way, including decisionmaking and intelligent conversation. I’m sorry to say that in some Muslim communities (I’ve lived among them in a couple of European cities), this is not the case. The be-decked woman travel around town with their female compatriots and all the kids. while the menfolk do Allah knows what; in many cases, the men do not ALLOW their wives to learn the language of their adopted European country, fearing that they might become too independent. When Muslim women break free and become professionals in these countries (I know of two specifica cases in Germany), their lives are threatened by Muslim men. This is not an attack on Muslims and certainly not the community in America, which is much different than those in Europe; but it is just the way it is.

Obama’s shout out was so inappropriate. He didn’t even have his facts straight. The world’s smartest president EVER said Dr Joe Medicine Crow was a Medal of Honor winner, wrong. He’s a Medal of Freedom winner which is the highest award a civilian can earn. In fact, Obama was the one who awarded him the medal in a ceremony. Remember much Obama? So not only was he insensitive by thinking a shout out was more important to start with than a statement on the death of a dozen people, he managed to insult Dr. Medicane Crow, military members and their families.

I think it once again proves Obama does not understand, appreciate, respect nor value the military. He took 2 days or so to make a statement about the young soldier killed at the recruiting center but only hours to express sympathy for a killed abortion doctor. Both were tragic and both deserved the same concern and acknowledgement from Obama.

That would excellent revenge but I’d just as soon have Bradford back as QB. What a great kid. He’s decided to go pro after this season due to his season-ending injury (I don’t blame him, though). That young man will go far in the pros.

Jump to conclusions? Is he kidding? No one’s jumping to anything, Hasan’s own words and his fundamentalist Islamic roots are out there-he didn’t keep it a secret. This is an act of terror and the reason BO won’t hop on Air Force One and go to Ft. Hood is because he and Michelle have a date night.

I do hope the boobs who voted for that callow empty suit get their comeuppance along with him. For all the change his fawning minions wanted, they could have, instead, crapped in one hand and put their idol’s promises in the other and see which filled up first and saved the rest of us all the trouble.

  • Ellen D

Obviously he never read the job description.

  • Lana

But it’s ok to jump to conclusions about a white police officer doing his job by going to the home of a black person after being told a break-in was in progress. I just want to be sure I’ve got these new rules right

  • TeakWoodKite

Tammy, teaching something does not an expert make.

As I said “with respect”, imparting a direct question to you out of genuine curiosity, you respond with a really insightful piece of intellect.

As for what I do for a living, I fly a spotter on the planet Arrakis looking for worm signs.
    The commute’s a bitch.
In the off season I do remote viewing.

So when you say you teach body language, you teach martial arts?

  • Kinder Gentler Galt

That being said, in my opinion, this is a horrible interpretation of the Koran, and the words of Muhammad.

As a general rule I follow, the fact something has to be interpreted begs my logical mind to question its validity.

This mentoring program is akin to the blind leading the blind – right into the abyss.

    Are you Harkonnen or Atreides?

  • jbjd

Exactly. Using the instincts of my 17-year-old son, who is autistic, to gauge whether BO’s response was wholly out of line, I set up the
‘experiment’ in this way. I explained the deaths in TX, which news my son received with appropriate sorrow and concern – probably my emotion factored into his response – and asked him to watch a video of BO’s response. I explained, BO had just attended a symposium on Native American affairs sponsored by the Department of Interior. Then, I played the video. After the first minute, he asked, does BO know these people were murdered? Yes; watch. After the 2nd minute, he couldn’t stand it. ‘WHAT THE HELL IS HE TALKING ABOUT?’ Finally, at about the 2 1/2 minute mark, BO began speaking to the massacre. My son walked away.

    JT – James Taylor…..?

    Atreides.

    Thanks, Amy.

This is a well-deserved tribute to a highly trained woman who risked her own life and probably saved a number of others in the effort. I read that Sergeant Munley received multiple gunshot wounds–2 in the leg and one in the torso but is stable condition and doing well.

What she did took guts and absolute control. I understand she’d been SWAT trained. Served her and those soldiers exceedingly well.

    Brava!

  • lorac

    “That is leadership.”

And I would add, her behavior also displayed that her identity is rooted in being a public servant.

    Obama fails both.

“I really can’t see 3 more years of this” = Amen!

I never even said this of Dubya – but Obama is so incompetent I am secretly hoping he’ll step down. He just can’t handle the job, it shows, he is tired and in way over his head, and it hasn’t yet been a full year. He really cannot handle criticism, and that makes him look weak with many transparent soft spots our enemies could exploit.

You know, Obama IS tired a lot. He could step down and cite health reasons, that way he could save some face. Most people who get to the level of running for president possess higher-than-average physical stamina (think: Hillary.) But this election was not normal, we elected a person of average physical stamina, and this person had never performed a job anywhere close to the scale of leader of the free world.

Am praying someone realizes his election has been a big misunderstanding and we figure out a way to get him to step down peacefully in a way that he can save some face, so our nation can preserve some semblance of stability.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this came from a Christian blog either, RRRA.

However, it is happening right in front of our eyes…so I won’t kill the messenger, rather take it as a heads up/warning. I truly fear for the future of my children and grandchildren if this continues unchecked. I don’t want anyone in my family to be bound by the horror of Sharia law in any way, shape, or form.

Kim Munley saved life of Wrightsville Beach police investigator

    WECT National News
    Reported by
    Claire Simms
    Lauren Thomson
    Nov.7, 2009
    NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT)

    - Officials say Kim Munley saved countless lives by bringing an armed Major down at a shootout at Fort Hood, Texas.

The Civilian Police Officer is originally from Carolina Beach.

This was not the first time she put herself on the line to save someone else.

Kim Munley’s first job in law enforcement was in Wrightsville Beach.

One of Kim’s former partners, Shaun Appler, a current investigator with the Wrightsville Beach Police Department says he owes her his life.

Shaun Appler and Kim Munley started working together as reserve officers for the Wrightsville Beach Police Department in 2000.

“Kim’s a ball of fire. She was an excellent patrol officer,” said Appler.

One night, Appler was struggling with a suspect, who had pinned him to the ground, when the man tried to get Appler’s gun out of his holster.

“Luckily, Kim showed up a short time after the fight began, was able to jump on the suspect’s back and she’s powerful. She got him off me and we were able to arrest the guy,” said Appler.

Appler has referred to Munley as “Mighty Mouse” ever since.

She’s only 5 foot 3, but officers here at the Wrightsville Beach police station say she’s tough and they’re not at all surprised that Kim is making national headlines.

“She’s small in stature, but she was not afraid of anything. She would get involved in whatever needed to be done,” said Wrightsville Beach Police Chief John Carey.

Munley is credited with bringing down accused Fort Hood gunman Major Nidal Hasan and stopping a deadly shooting spree on the army base Thursday.

…a task officers here say would take both physical and mental strength.

“We believe very strongly in training our officers for these types of events,” said Chief Carey.

An event no officer wants to respond to, but one Munley was prepared for nonetheless.

“I’m just proud of her. No doubt that she could do it, but i’m proud of the fact that she reacted to it,” said Appler.

Munley is still in the hospital tonight, but officers in Wrightsville Beach say she has been injured in the line of duty before and they know she’ll pull through.

    Wow, breeze!
Thanks so much and for the list of casualties upthread.
My former neighbors were transfered to Fort Hood about 5 years ago. I don’t know where they are now, for he was nearing retirement.
I have been monitoring the newspaper here, and so far we have only one family mentioned, and they were not directly impacted.

  • Ferd Berfle

Me-chelle is no expert on training, motivation, or guidance, indeed she is quite the opposite. Her forte begins and ends with an unjustified sense of entitlement.

  • Lana

Thank you, Onofre’s arm, for a little sanity. I took the question as a respectful inquiry and was interested myself. It must be an intriguing field. Sure didn’t understand the flippancy behind the response. I hope you got through.

How much introspection does it take to not lie, cheat, and steal?

  • http://www.noquarterusa.net/blog/2009/11/07/more-heroes-at-fort-hood/ More Heroes at Fort Hood : NO QUARTER

[...] wrote about in the heroic civilian police officer Sgt. Kim Munley, barely five feet tall, in “The Fort Hood Shooting, And Its Hero.” And, below, I have added a NEW story about Sgt. Munley, courtesy of the Houston Chronicle [...]

I am so glad that your former neighbours are safe,
    Sassy!

No need to thank me, I am always upset when MSM
focuses so much on the culprit and ignores the
victim. In this case even more so, they are truly
knocking themselves out to elicit SYMPATHY for this
    creature, especially MSNBC…..

That’s why I mentally hugged each and everyone of
those fallen, while I copied their brief bios,
especially the young girl from Chicago who was going home to have her baby.

Truly, that unborn child should be declared the
    14th casualty of this horror.

    I will never forget!
