Thanks. A great analysis of where we currently stand in this party. Howard Dean, recently visiting New Hampshire, is blowing smoke about how they are "winning over Clinton's supporters."

He's either whistling past the graveyard, or he's blatantly lying. I don't see it happening.

I can't predict what will happen in November. But as a reader of a broad selection of news sources, and analysis, I would say that Obama's got big problems as the Democratic nominee, and no amount of mass rallies with charismatic speeches, and swooning, weeping crowds will help his image. In fact, I think it will only further alienate him with Independents, and it won't bring Democrats like myself into his camp.

He refuses to participate in a town hall meeting with military families, but he wants to do a mass rally at Brandenburg gate in Germany?

Aside from all of the current reasons you list above--all significant--that disturb and alarm progressives already, that one fact tells me all I need to know about Barack Obama.

Very good diary. I think it should be bumped up for a second look.
