I thought he had already gotten all of the sympathy votes, and white guilt votes, in the primaries. Still leaving 18 million voters supporting HRC.

I certainly have no sympathy for him, nor do I manifest any “so-called white guilt”. I owe him nothing.

Nor do I believe any other Clinton supporters owe him or the DNC anything. The way I see it, regarding the racism canard, is that the Obama apologists are preaching to themselves.

Actually that last aspect is good, they need the “preaching”. They are and have been the true racists all along. Trying to project their psychoactive hang-ups onto others throughout the campaign.

John McCain’s closest economic advisor Phil Gramm certainly had more than a little to do with it. He was instrumental in clearing a regulatory pathway for the irresponsible lending practices that have led to the subprime meltdown and brought us to the brink of financial disaster. You can blame him directly for slipping the 268-page Commodity Futures Modernization Act into a critical Year 2000 appropriations bill. Deregulation provisions in Gramm’s bill had the effect of allowing risky loans to be hidden within bundled loan packages, which could then be swapped and traded away to unsuspecting investors and financial institutions. Another set of deregulation provisions lead to the creation of what’s come to be known as the “Enron loophole”. That’s what allowed Enron to sell energy futures on an unregulated basis.

So, the guy most responsible for the mess is McCain’s economic advisor. Trying to use the economic melt down to discredit Barack Obama requires plenty of imagination, and total disregard for the legislative events leading up to it.

The tumbling dollar is a direct result of Bush’s disasterous deficits. He’s run up higher deficits than all previous presidential administrations combined and doubled the national debt in a mere 7 1/2 years, remember?

Any adult with a modicum of common sense knows that you can’t spend more than you take in, make up the difference through heavy borrowing, and expect that to continue forever without dire financial consequences. Eventually your irresponsibility catches up with you.

That’s what’s happening now. Republican fiscal irresponsibility is catching up with us.

So, McCain will continue the tax cuts, and continue the war spending, and still somehow balance the budget?

If he wants my vote he’d better show me the arithmetic. Otherwise I’ll figure we’re still going to be playing the same old republican shell-game, where the disappearing peas keep turning up in the pockets of the rich. Except pretty soon there won’t be a pea. Just economic disaster, and an enormous pile of debt the government’s taken on in my name.

Yeah probably spent to much time in PRIVATE consultation with ‘his mentor’ to get the real gospel preached to him…

Not that it matters – but the ones who had private consultation with Rev. Wright were the Clintons during their Monica difficulties.
