Clinton Diehards Want Convention Vote
By Shawn Zeller, CQ Staff
Photo caption and credit: WAVE ON: A few Clintonites think she has a chance. (BLOOMBERG NEWS / JON C. HANCOCK)

She may have given up, but a few of Hillary Rodham Clinton ’s people haven’t.

The senator from New York is said to be negotiating a respectful presence followed by a graceful exit from next month’s Democratic convention, and last week the party announced that Barack Obama would formally accept the party’s nomination in the stadium built for the Denver Broncos. But there are Clinton supporters clinging to the
hope that if her name is placed in nomination and the roll call of the states is conducted, she might — might — still win.

Heidi Li Feldman, a Georgetown University law professor, insists there’s still“no way of predicting” the outcome should there be a fair vote. That’s because Obama has not secured enough pledged delegates to ensure the magic number of 2,118 needed to claim victory; the Illinois senator has gone past that benchmark only with thepledges of about 390 superdelegates —and they can change their minds at any time up to the moment they cast their ballots.

“If they had a meaningful vote, I have no idea who would win,” Feldman says. “But I know that if Sen. Obama were sure he would win, there wouldn’t be a negotiation” about Clinton’s role at the convention.

So Feldman, who says she has raised about $100,000 for Clinton, has turned her prowess to raising money for advertising demanding a convention vote, and she has teamed with a fellow pro-Clinton blogger, Marc Rubin, to form the Denver Group to lobby the Democratic National Committee, much of the staff of which has already moved from Washington to Chicago to work for Obama.

Feldman says she won’t vote for Obama if Clinton doesn’t get a convention vote. Rubin says he might not. Both say they aren’t worried that their efforts will continue to divide Democrats at a time when they should be uniting to take on Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona. In fact, they argue, many Democrats might stay home if they feel Clinton gets short shrift.

all the people on this Cavuto show, him and the wannabes r listening to themselves.

they r just looking for some sensational news. that’s why they accommodate the PUMA’s for interviews, but at the same time they r pushing their own agenda.

She may have given up, but a few of Hillary Rodham Clinton ’s people haven’t.

I like to be one of the ‘few’.
The few diehards raised around a million Dollars to help retire Hillary’s debt.
The few diehards keep coming up on TV – somehow past the label of ‘ignorable’, ‘insignificant’.
The few diehards plan to go Denver.
The few diehards created hundreds upon hundreds of blogs supporting Hillary.
The few diehards collected enough money to publish ads supporting Hillary.
The few diehards are sending tens of thousands of letters, e-mails, petitions to Super Delegates, DNC, newspapers.

It feels very powerful to be one of the ‘few’.

    Thanks for this article Marc.
Heidi did a good job, the anchor person seemed a bit hostile.

OT, Did barky further alienate AA’s last night at the NAACP talk? Seems he thinks he can “preach” to us all about how we are living such bad lives.

Please save me from 4 years of condesending sermons from a flawed, selfserving, prophet!

Why doesn’t anyone acknowledge that Hillary Clinton has not released all her delegates? She is in an awkward position where she has been attacked as a racist, for being a woman and having been married to one of the most successful Democratic presidents of all time and so guilty of plotting to ruthlessly grab power for her husband… the theories swirling around about why she wants to be President, besides her feeling that she was best qualified for the job, are sad statements about our culture and make it difficult for her to press her suit. Heidi makes a great point that politicians create room to maneuver, because their jobs depend on getting elected by the will of the people. Hillary cannot seem to act contrary to the best interests of her party. She still deserves the benefits of the full nomination process since neither candidate received the required pledged delegates. I wish she would have taken the MI and FL decisions to the credentials committee. What bothers me the most is someone who teaches law at Georgetown and can easily raise $100,000 for their candidate should not have faces made at them while they speak or be interrupted. Expressing these ideas should not draw either ridicule or hostility in what is supposedly a free society. That’s all. Otherwise, great commentary from Heidi Li Feldman, J.D., Ph.D.

Heidi made some good points — particularly at the end about “faux unity”. I just wish that the rude host did not speak over her so often. This tended to make the interview unnecessarily disjointed. Go Heidi!

BO did come across as his usual cocky self. He is obviously using the black community to score points with white voters. I’m sure that he assumes that like women and the left, they have nowhere to go.

Big Trouble On The Hill For Obama
    Hill Democrats Miffed at Obama

After a brief bout of Obamamania, some Capitol Hill Democrats have begun to complain privately that Barack Obama’s presidential campaign is insular, uncooperative and inattentive to their hopes for a broad Democratic victory in November.

“They think they know what’s right and everyone else is wrong on everything,” groused one senior Senate Democratic aide. “They are kind of insufferable at this point.”

Among the grievances described by Democratic leadership insiders:

    • Until a mailing that went out in the past few days, Obama had done little fundraising for Democratic candidates since signing off on e-mailed fundraising appeals for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee immediately after securing the Democratic nomination.

    • Obama has sometimes appeared in members’ districts with no advance notice to lawmakers, resulting in lost opportunities for those Democrats to score points by appearing alongside their party’s presumptive presidential nominee.

    • The Obama campaign has not, until very recently, coordinated a daily message with congressional Democrats, leaving Democratic members in the lurch when they’re asked to comment on the constant back and forth between Obama and John McCain — as they were when Obama said earlier this month that he would “continue to refine” his Iraq policies after meeting with commanders on the ground there.

    • Coordination between the Obama campaign and the House and Senate leadership is so weak that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — who will chair the Democrats’ convention in August — didn’t know of Obama’s decision to move his final-night acceptance speech from the Pepsi Center to Invesco Field until the campaign announced it on a conference call with reporters.

That guy, the interviewer, was atrocious. He was trying to be ‘tough’ but couldn’t even pull it off. When he did the whole “it’ll be great TV” he pretty much summed up the entire media’s true interest.

Thank goodness for Heidi’s poise. I’m not sure I could have finessed the idiocy she had to deal with as well and as calmly as she did.

  • uhh somehow this notion that I am qualified to be president is uhh uhh ridiculous

It’s so incredibly transparent. No wonder Jesse Jackson wants to, well, you know.

    ;)

Everyone and everything is a prop to BHO. Ridiculous.

But people can see it, it’s becoming more obvious by the day and even with the media trying to run with faux New Yorker scandal, they can’t hide the painfully obvious truth: This guy is a joke.

  • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

Of course they are pushing their agenda. But Heidi just succeeded at Using the User. It’s symbiotic.

The fact is, their McCain benefits by our total disdain for Obama. That meets OUR agenda too.

Basically, what is our agenda? Our agenda it to make sure that hoaxy mediocre sexist pig never sits his butt in the oval office. That’s their agenda too.

Their agenda stems from supporting any republican. Our agenda stems from the need to ensure that a man we do not trust with our country, our lives or women’s rights and well-being does not become president. The agendas are different but the desire is the same.

We don’t meet CNN’s agenda and that’s why we never get an invite. Let’s face it, news channels aren’t reporting any longer. They are creating news for their own political purposes. Why criticize FOX any longer when they are really no different than MSNBC or CNN, but for their agenda.

  • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

The host was inexperienced and tried to score points with the network. He came across as rude, ignorant and inflexible.

Heidi Li did a good job – it’s easy to lose one’s focus under those conditions but she kept to her message.

    Go Hillary!
    Go PUMAs

ps I was at dinner with a group who was highly educated (nobody with anything less than a PhD), one (who’s in his 60′s) was quite vociferous in his insistence that there was no sexism in the MSM against Hillary – the pimping comment was simply strange, the endless coverage and speculation on Hillary’s tearing up was nothing out of the ordinary (Muskie cried too) and wanted evidence that the Obama camp was sexist. He also bought into the whole Bosnia story – “he took that seriously”.

It’s interesting about the perception of the public who only follow the MSM and politics peripherally.

Also goes to show that it is a bad idea to talk politics at dinner parties. I will never make that mistake again (in my defense, I was pushed into the conversation by my host and I tried to be polite).

  • Betty

    ABC News What’s a P.U.M.A.?
If you thought the Democratic Party was a single machine unified behind presumptive nominee Barack Obama, then you should think again.

As much as the GOP could be hurt by the disaffection of Ron Paul and Bob Barr supporters, the Dems are in danger of losing far greater numbers of voters…supporters of Hillary Clinton.
    continue http://countusout.wordpress.com/

  • uhh somehow this notion that I am qualified to be president is uhh uhh ridiculous

Well, that’s another example of the politeness of Hillary supporters juxtaposed to the arrogance and insulting nature of Obama supporters. No worries, we will politely cast our votes in November.

  • stateofdisbelief

I heard that they are trying to push (no pun intended) Jesse out of the Rainbow Push Coalition for his remarks on Obama. Y’know, this is getting ridiculous! You can’t say a damn thing about this plastic messiah – nothing! has anyone told him and his followers that this is an ELECTION???!!!

By the way…does anyone have a total for monies raised in the 5bucks / 50.00 T-shirt blitz?

  • stateofdisbelief

I think maybe those Fox people are beginning to get a little worried that we might actually pull this thing off leaving McCain to run against the stronger candidate. if appearances begin to taper off, that will surely be why.

  • Hope Floats

Some leader, huh? He cares only about snagging the big prize, and the rest of them can go to hell. Told you so! Enjoy.

  • John

The Denver Group “plots” to “overthrow Obama as the Democratic Nominee” according to the HuffingtonPost.

As if Obama is a sitting Emperor, or at least already been elected President, and Hillary delegates who wish to vote for the person they were ELECTED TO SUPPORT are attempting some kind of coup.

I guess millions of us PUMAS are going to be marching to the polls in November to “overthrow” Obama by….umm….voting against him?

Yes, every ignorant, narrow-minded, racist, don’t-care-about-Roe-v.-Wade-and-want-war-with-Iran one of us.

  • Hope Floats

I thought it was a very European look, and she has the arms to pull off a sleeveless dress.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

What was interesting is that he’s aloof from Pelosi and Reid, too, to keep up the image that he’s “different.”

What silliness. He’s flip-flopping like mad. He won’t talk to people in town halls. He wants to impress us by giving speeches abroad.

All of this smacks of same ole crap.

The fact is that he’s offending congress now, and he’s not even been elected. That’s not smart.

But the ripper of it was that his campaign blamed the long fight with Hillary. My, my did you see him pounding the last few weeks in SD? I sure didn’t.

  • stateofdisbelief

Didn’t you hear?? he’s already president! bwahahahaha!

I’m so Proud to be a PUMA!!!!

  • http://deleted AnninCa

What’s interesting about sexism is that people decide it’s defined as “this or that,” and they rarely are interested in finding out what actually offends others.

I suppose the same could be said of racism. I always thought Bill and Hillary did the right thing by apologizing for any comment that had offended anyone in the AA community. Whether it’s “racism” or not, it’s best to let people who are affected say whether that’s offensive or not.

But also, academics are particularly prone to arrogance. That’s part of Obama’s arrogant problem.

  • Hope Floats

I bet he hits on his younger female students. Pig. So funny how people believe an advanced degree immunizes a person to prejudice, racism, antisemitism, sexism or homophobia.

As for Heidi Li, she owned that host by refusing to be precocious or try to be witty. She held her ground and spoke with authority and very carefully selecting her words. It lends the Denver Group extraordinary clout to have such a strong spokeswoman.

  • anonymous

Although there is no doubt the PUMA movement arose from Hillary supporters I would argue it has become people who want to make sure Obama is not elected if he was the nominee. At this time PUMAs cling to the idea Hillary could still be the nominee but if that does not happen most will grudgingly vote for McCain to protect America from Obama and his insane followers.

  • PuppyDogMom

Do you have any comments about the suit or the tie? Was he handsome? You could have stopped after your first two comments. While I mean no disrespect to you, this is exactly what misogyny is all about.

  • PuppyDogMom

Why would you ask someone to come on your show to explain something and never let them talk?

  • Blue State Girl

Heidi needs some serious media training if she wants to be taken seriously. Her voice was trembling and didn’t seem in total control of the facts at hand. Plus, it would help with executing some ju jitsu against obnoxious reporters like this guy.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

There’s some interesting articles on that site. Thanks.

  • MrMike

After watching that small clip of Heidi Li Feldman going toe to toe with Cavuto, without raising her voice, I was reminded of all the loser spokespeople the DNC has paraded on the talk shows in the past.
Had the powers that be in 2000 presented some one of her caliber Al Gore might have stood a chance.

  • I Will Remember in November

Although I have a strong feeling that Hillary will be the nominee, at last it might just be wishful thinking.
The whole convention will be centered around and propped to the hilt for obama. The retrospectives flyers everything. Do you think the sd’s have the intestinal fortitude to go against that and vote for Hillary? The only way that would happen if the sd’s have the strenght and guts of Hillary…it aint gonna happen.
The only way hillary gets the nomination is before the convention not during or after.
As I have written before it is a race between time and the truth…let’s pray truth wins out.

    PUMA!

It’s really sad isn’t it? It seemed like a gradual loss of journalistic integrity until Bush and the war. Since then, it has been a rapid descent into pure propaganda, including major newspapers, all magazines, etc. This primary was the final collapse. I don’t watch or read any of it anymore. I don’t drink poison, so why would I imbibe this garbage?

I did watch Fox during the primary season, because it was the ONLY venue that gave Hillary surrogates an open forum, and of course, there were the brilliant Hillary sightings. That interview with O’Reilly was priceless. She can handle anyone in debate.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

No, but for me, that’s not the issue. The issue is precedent.

It’s unprecedented the way the Democratic Party tried to push Hillary out of the race. It’s unprecedented now to act as though she doesn’t have the right to a rollcall vote.

    She earned those delegates.

Has Hillary said she has withdrawn, no!

Has Hillary stated anything to give the impression she is not going after a floor vote, no!

Speculation and deterioration of Obama is working in Hillary’s favor, it is a shame it took this long to focus on Obama as a failure, but timing is everything and Clinton has time, Obama is the worst user of time and it is 6 weeks till Denver, and in the past 4 weeks how has Bambi faired with attention solely on him?

  • educatedwhitewoman

Uppity, have to disagree with you on this one. Fox has been very fair during the primaries and now both McCain and Obama get equal time; Fox seems to go out of its way to give each one the same amount of praise and criticism. Whenever the candidates are discussed, there is always a Republican commentator and a Democratic leader or operative, usually on at the same time, or one following the other. No side gets more air time. But do they delve deeply into the issues? IMO, not deeply enough, about as much as CNN or MSNBC, for the most part. I feel as if I’m listening to infomercials from the candidates as their surrogates offer the “spin” of the day, all pc, of course. The difference is that CNN, MSNBC, etc. are blatantly biased for Obama and the d’s. And, FOX does allow Hillary supporters and conservative voices to be heard, but no MORE than the Obama spin machine.

Some tend to forget the numbers. Bambi has only 1740 pledged delegates and had on June 4th 438 SD’s, giving him a combined 2178 delegates, barely floating him past the 2118 needed to win the nomination with 60 delegates. This week he lost 8 SD’s, dropping his number down to 52 delegates.

This is even before the contesting of pledged delegates which is done at the convention that places like the Texas caucus’s will be drawn upon along with the handing over 59 delegates not earned in Michigan handed to Obama.

With 6 weeks to go, at this rate, Bambi can be out of it based on SD’s switching.

Do not forget, Clinton’s are master backroom workers and with Obama thus far has failing at everything he claims to be from uniter to money abilities to a different kind of politician which is being watched carefully.

On the note of Obama having all his supporters in the Denver Bronco’s stadium is a good thing, for if Hillary does become the nominee after true democratic voting taking place, it makes life easier for the Denver police to keep control over all the Obama bussed in ACORN idiots, since they will basically be locked up in a big pen anyhow and since Bambi is paying for the stadium, let Bambi spend the rest of his life paying for the damages the ACORN idiots will inflict upon the statium!

It would resonate that much more. I love this. Only wish that the average American could get to see it.

I loved especially that powerful last statement Heidi Li Feldman made, which will stick in the mind of most viewers, no matter how stupid the moderator.

Here is what I wrote to cavuto@foxnews.com:

    quote

The expression on the moderator’s face is very telling: every time he thought he had Prof. Feldman off the track he showed a triumphant smile, it came over as cheap.

As a viewer, I was much more interested in what this obviously poised woman had to say.

There is always, of course, the danger that maderators are cocky, this one topped them all. He wanted to be the protagonist, not a gracious thing to do to a guest who’s statements and opinion viewers want to hear, not rudely interrupted, but with intelligent questions from the moderator.

Furthermore, being an advocatus diaboli entails knowledge of the subject (not knowing the difference between suspending and conceding in a campaign is sloppy, to put it mildly), knowing how to ask catchy questions, intelligent flexibility, certainly not constant interruption of a high profile guest, and certainly not that dumb laughing at the wrong places.

Not an excellent performance of this moderator IMHO. This lady had interesting things to say, I hope Fox news will invite her again, next time with a capable moderator.

The old crap this smacks of is the sort of thing we were taught to fear ever coming to our country. Maybe I’m just not progressive enough to see the humor in stomping on the flag. Then Obama winces at a New Yorker cover where the flag burns away in the fireplace. Hoist on your own petard, Mr. False Patriotism.

Why does it take the head of a foreign government to point out that giving an election speech to the Germans at a famous landmark is not how you appeal to Americans. It’s sleazy and exploitative, on top of impractical. It’s also consistent with the jerk and his ridiculous ego.

  • Hope Floats

MSNBO…HAHAHA. I doubt NC will go blue this year.

  • imustprotest

I agree, the differences between all of our agendas couldn’t be more stark as demonstrated by that interview. Heidi was masterful. Where he was crass and rude, she was class and respectful. Point made. Well done Heidi, thank you.

  • Hope Floats

And don’t forget Usher is performing… So, even if things don’t work out for Obama, everyone can still have a great time and celebrate this historic event.

  • educatedwhitewoman

Mel, based on what you stated above re the real facts on the ground: Obama does not have enough delegates, he’s now losing delegates, and SD’s can switch at the convention, I believe that Axelreichmaster and the Chosen One are very worried, hence the brilliant chess move to reserve Invesco Field and fill it with 76,000 screaming Obamatrons, on the anniversary of MLK’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech no less. It’s a power play, designed to coerce the SD’s to stick with Obama, or all hell could break lose when disaffected Obama followers and blacks take to the streets. Didn’t you know? The coronation is all set; Ms. Brazille and her fellow travelers will not be denied, and the MSM will not be denied this moment in HISTORY – the first “black” presidential nominee!

Harriet the waitress is right: With his paper-thin resume, the inadequate “black” man Obama would not be here if he were white. And I’m not racist. I have voted for many black politicians. The point is that BO is the first affirmative action candidate for POTUS. With the support of a fawning media and 95% of the black vote, and the machinations of the DNC and power brokers like George Soros who helped fund the Obama campaign machine full of dirty tricks, this weak and inexperienced politican has been foisted on the democrats. But, hey, we’ll have our first black President! We can all sip our lattes and pat ourselves on our backs, basking in the admiration of the rest of the world, commenting about our “fresh” new POTUS. Sickening.

  • Hope Floats

Damn straight she had interesting things to say. You don’t just fluff your way into teaching law at Georgetown.

  • vera possumus

wow, could the interviewer have been any more of a condescending prick? He was like an SNL parody.

  • Alice Paul

I agree with everything you have stated except the part about us having our first black president.

I have been watching this poll for weeks. It restarts each Monday with about 300,000 people voting each week. Each week the results are the same. This week McCain is actually getting a better head start. I know this is a small percentage of the country but I have a feeling this is what it may look like on election night (unless Hillary is the nominee of course!)

The interviewer reminded me of the trolls we have here. He tried to take her off message and argue a point. If she had taken the bait, she would never had been able to make all of her points. The interviewer came off like the jerk that he apparently is.

  • Just a Thought

Given the shape-shifting aspects of Obama and his owners, this does not surprise me.

I have wondered if, irony of ironies, Obama and his “true base” might prefer a Republican controlled Congress, were he to be elected?

Such thoughts are based on his, and their, willingness to alienate any element of the Democrats, on any given day. As well as, the obvious stance changes on nearly everything, and the tack to the right.

Such would very much suit his penchant for being blameless for anything that happens concerning him.

If he did well, which would be doubtful, he would take credit. If he failed, which would be very likely, he could blame the Republicans.

However, with a Republican Congress, he might in fact do very well. The caveat being that “very well” might be synonymous with a far-right agenda. More to the right than McCain would ever consider going.

Again, re ironies, that would be the “hat trick” of all “hat tricks”. Win the primary with far-left and AA support, win the GE and govern with the far right.

With the enigmatic Obama, and his mysterious benefactors, uncertainty reigns supreme with each passing day, illuminating the fact that we the voters know nothing concrete about him or his backers.

To me that is one of the great perils of anyone even considering a vote for him, and the primary reason I will never vote for him.

And…No! I have not been smoking or drinking, merely pondering. Perhaps too much so. Nonetheless, seemingly with Obama and all of the logic defying weirdness that has transpired so far, nothing is too-far-fetched to consider.

As I stated earlier, we do not know a damn thing for certain, so may as well muse!

  • Mirlo

Some, but not most. No generalisation, please. I know academics that are very arrogant, other that are very humble; it has nothing to do with scolarship or university degree, but with character.

  • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

I’d agree with you except for one thing, when a herd is penned up in a coral, it is easy to handle them, if they were on the streets at the time, all hell would break loose for sure!

If the coral is damaged, so be it, let Axelrod and Obama pay for it forever, but the authorities can keep the situation contained at least and so is it a smart move by Axelrod, or a defeating one for violence in the streets, confining a movement is not smart on the part of Axelrod, but is for everyone else!

  • C.S.

Could that guy have been more condescending? And then trying to say he was playing devil’s advocate! He oozed haughty contempt for the speaker and her ideas, constantly interrupting and trying to put words in her mouth…and that constant chuckle at what she said; like he couldn’t wait to get off screen so he could belly laugh.

Very unprofessional interview. Is the need to control “the message” so urgent that they are only hiring those who flunked out of journalism schools now? Edward R. Morrow would be very ashamed of his profession.

And she did a remarkable job in spite of his best efforts to prevent her from getting her message out.

  • Mirlo

I think that little shaking in her voice was much to her advantage, it showed her as a human, like you and I.
All that media training makes the interviewee the most boring, all the same, stereotype, Botox- masky people who seem to have taken a tranquilizer before the interview. I much prefer this natural, poised and humane behavior. The way she kept on her track, flexibly replying without offending the moderator showed her great character.

  • Just a Thought

    Excellent point, Mirlo.

And, I do not consider Obama to be an “academic”. Simply a want-to-be.

Degreed, yes. Actually intelligent, and comprehensively educated, beyond pretense and sham. No!

  • WTB

If only Heidi had said that Hillary suspended her campaign because the primary season was over. And, importantly, she did not RELEASE her delegates. That’s all you need to know to support what the Denver Group is trying to accomplish.

  • wry

Excellent excellent letter. I so admire people who can write well.

  • wry

Yes, the O’Reilly interview was priceless. I still disagree with 90% of what he says, but you could see by the look on the man’s face, that he was in awe of Hillary’s pace and brilliance and mastery of the facts…and of her innate charm.

Many right wing commentators have been won over by her this election cycle. And I must tip my hat to those who gave her more of a fair hearing than the sexist pigs at Misogynist Sexist Numbnuts Boys Club.
Pat Buchanan, Joe Scarborough, william Kristol and a couple others surprised me with their respect toward Senator Clinton.

  • Mirlo

Just think what it will do to the black community though, to have an arrogant, inexperienced, highly inadequate, empty suit as first black POTOS (if he wins the nomination and if, big?, if he should win the GE).

It will damage their image for decades, just think of Nixon, evry reference to him is still a negative.

As I said before: I wish for the first black POTUS to be a brilliant, capable, value-driven man or woman with gravitas and character.

  • wry

Every time he scolds an “irresponsible” negro, he gets another conservative’s vote, who isn’t happy with John McCain on immigration.
Barky’s “beef” with Jesse Jackson is deliberate.
He’s saying “See, I’m not like those bad ole civil rights obsessed negros.” “I’m proof that a negro can do anything if he keeps his pants on and stays in school” “Those negros still in the projects…it’s their own fault” “They need to stop making babies”
Make no mistake. This is coded Barky speak to pick off disgruntled conservatives.
    He has no soul.

  • Steven Mather

I liked the dress. I loved her grace under pressure. People like Heidi collapse the PUMA metaphor because like a lioness, she gives us pride. Cats in a pride herd themselves. They are their own masters.

  • wry

I was surprised at her poise. These kind of interviews, with an earpiece, are very difficult.
And with him interrupting…it’s like the old fashioned speaker phones where only one party could talk at once.

  • John

My dad pretty much told me the same thing. Last Thanksgiving, he “joked” that all the Obama supporters in the family could sit at the main table, while the Hillary supporters could sit on the porch with their plates. Me, my sister, my niece and my mom went to the porch, even as he protested that he was “only kidding.”

The other night he was bleating Obama talking points to me- Hillary expected to be coronated, no plans after February 5, mistreated the press, blah blah blah, and I just told him I can’t talk to him about politics anymore.

Wait till he sees the Hillary ’12 sticker on my car, I’m ordering it this week…

  • Cappy

That interviewer, whoever he was, was patronizing and obnoxious. Did anyone else see the ‘jerk’ tattoo on his forehead?

  • Eric

Oh, but you do “fluff your way into teaching law” at University of Chicago??

  • stateofdisbelief

OT – another potential VP runs for the Hill. On CNN, Reed from R.I. says NO WAY.

What’s left? Kerry, Edwards, and Richardson? hahaha what a bunch of losers. It’s appropriate.

  • stateofdisbelief

He’s just like the chosen one, cocky, arrogant and condescending without an ounce of class.

By the way, is anyone else having a good laugh over BOBO’s “we’re being out-fundraised” video by Plouff?

  • Eric

So…just checking to see how funny this is.

Do you honestly believe that Donna Brazile posted in that thread, just because someone typed the name “Donna Brazile” in the “Name” field on the comment form?

    If so, thanks a million!!

  • Hope Floats

Apparently, teaching positions can be bought at U of C. Of course, Bill Ayers is no professor of law. There’s a reason why the law school at Georgetown has the more competitive admissions standards, though.

  • Hope Floats

Good point about the mics and feed.

  • Hope Floats

I quit going to one of my favorite bars, a nice piano bar where I have a martini with my husband on Friday when he wraps up his week. The bartender wears a tuxedo and is normally very pleasant. I was shocked when I said I supported Hillary, and he began talking like Keith Olbermann. “She only got where she is because of her husband.” I said she graduated valedictorian from Wesleyan and was profiled in Life magazine as someone to watch out for with a bright political future. He said she lost all the jobs in NY. I said she brought jobs despite 911 and secured 25 billion along with Sen. Chuck Schumer, and that she was reelected by a 67% approval rating. He said she’s never done anything. I said she has an impressive list of accomplishments and legislation she authored. He just shook his head. I knew he wasn’t listening. That would be an example of sexism to me. We’re not going back there again.

  • Hope Floats

That would have been short, sweet and to the point.

  • John

Good for you; there are plenty of bars, I don’t hand my money to anyone I KNOW is a sexist jackass. And I’ve learned not to get into arguments with people who bleat Obamabot/MSNBC talking points at me. It’s just a waste of time. Some people just “know what they know,” even when it’s a steaming pile of crap. Actual information is like a foreign agent instantly consumed by white blood cells and flushed away.

  • dropping by

do you think this would be a good thing if he is to change the way Washington works. Maybe he is targeting the Dems who need to go from the ground up.

Also to reply to all who are newly independant, welcome, I have been independant for a long time and I don’t get salty when my horse doesn’t make it and elated when it does. Keep you options open and don’t get your heart broken buying into one of the psuedo-parties.

FYI… George Washington said that parties will be the downfall of democracy because I gives the voter a easy choice instead of making them think. A lot of HRC supporters rather not think because they seem to be unable to consider and alternative view.
