Obama did not respond directly to Demint but did send out an email criticising DeMint for failing to attend a subcommittee meeting for routine confirmations of Bush's diplomatic nominations - the only kind of meeting Obama has held, (because he had to). Obviously DeMint's absence was no big deal since there was no controversy over the appointments. Once again Obama uses the typical 6-year-olds' tactic of finding some petty thing to blame on the other guy rather than accept responsibility.
