When Barack Gets Dissed by Donna and Maureen, Who’s Next?

Donna Brazile, at Huffington Post:

Donna Brazile, who ran Al Gore’s 2000 campaign, said the Obama campaign has had a “lousy start to the general election. Although the political environment continues to favor Obama and the Democrats, the candidate is still not fully on four cylinders.”

Maureen Dowd, in today’s New York Times column, “May We Mock, Barack?,” in which she chides Obama for his uptight response to the New Yorker cover cartoon:

But he does not want the “take” on him to become that he’s so tightly wrapped, overcalculated and circumspect that he can’t even allow anyone to make jokes about him, and that his supporters are so evangelical and eager for a champion to rescue America that their response to any razzing is a sanctimonious: Don’t mess with our messiah!

If Obama keeps being stingy with his quips and smiles, and if the dominant perception of him is that you can’t make jokes about him, it might infect his campaign with an airless quality. His humorlessness could spark humor.

Dowd continues:

On Tuesday, Andy Borowitz satirized on that subject. He said that Obama, sympathetic to comics’ attempts to find jokes to make about him, had put out a list of official ones, including this:

“A traveling salesman knocks on the door of a farmhouse, and much to his surprise, Barack Obama answers the door. The salesman says, ‘I was expecting the farmer’s daughter.’ Barack Obama replies, ‘She’s not here. The farm was foreclosed on because of subprime loans that are making a mockery of the American dream.’ ”

John McCain’s Don Rickles routines — “Thanks for the question, you little jerk” — can fall flat. But he seems like a guy who can be teased harmlessly. If Obama offers only eat-your-arugula chiding and chilly earnestness, he becomes an otherworldly type, not the regular guy he needs to be.

He’s already in danger of seeming too prissy about food — a perception heightened when The Wall Street Journal reported that the planners for Obama’s convention have hired the first-ever Director of Greening, the environmental activist Andrea Robinson. She in turn hired an Official Carbon Adviser to “measure the greenhouse-gas emissions of every placard, every plane trip, every appetizer prepared and every coffee cup tossed.”

The “lean ‘n’ green” catering guidelines, The Journal said, bar fried food and instruct that, “on the theory that nutritious food is more vibrant, each meal should include ‘at least three of the following colors: red, green, yellow, blue/purple, and white.’ (Garnishes don’t count.) At least 70% of the ingredients should be organic or grown locally, to minimize emissions from fuel during transportation.”

Bring it on, Ozone Democrats! Because if Obama gets elected and there is nothing funny about him, it won’t be the economy that’s depressed. It will be the rest of us.

It’s alright. I’ve always found him boring and humorless.

What disturbs me is that Maureen Dowd — and a long line of “liberal” bloggers — completely ignored the sexist “jokes” of Bernie Mac as well as Obama’s excusing of Mac’s repugnant humor at an Obama fundraiser last week:

“Having a black first lady is different: You’re still going have to do the dishes and the laundry and all that . . . you got to pick up the kids,” Mac said. “‘You didn’t pick up the kids?’ ‘I just came from Korea, talking about nuclear weapons.’ ‘You were on Air Force One and you couldn’t stop to pick up the kids?’”

……………………….

Mac said he is a Democrat “born and raised” but added that “I’m a Republican at tax time.” …

He then talked about his wife who he’s been married to for 35 years, and how she just went through menopause.

“I can’t take it,” he said. “My house is so doggone cold all the time.”

……………………….

The Chicago-born comedian and actor told what he said was a joke about his nephew coming to him and asking the difference between a hypothetical question and a realistic question.

To demonstrate the difference, he tells the nephew to go ask his mother if she would make love to the mailman for $50,000. The mother says she would make love to the mailman and anybody else for $50,000.

He tells the nephew to go ask his sister if she would make love with her neighbor for $50,000. She says she would make love with the neighbor and anybody else for $50,000.

So he tells the nephew: “Hypothetically speaking, we should have $100,000. But realistically speaking we live with two hos,” Bernie Mac said. …

Obama’s response to the audience?

“… Bernie you got to clean up your act. This is a family affair… I’m just messing with you.”

Perhaps, instead of worrying about Obama’s lack of a sense of humor, Maureen Dowd should write about the sexis humor that Obama gives a pass.

Perhaps, instead of writing about Obama’s lack of humor, Maureen Dowd should note that getting upset over jokes about one’s self is a sign of narcissism.

  • barack who?

But he does not want the “take” on him to become that he’s so tightly wrapped, overcalculated and circumspect that he can’t even allow anyone to make jokes about him, and that his supporters are so evangelical and eager for a champion to rescue America that their response to any razzing is a sanctimonious: Don’t mess with our messiah!

Obama supporters being called “evangelical”…that’s gotta hurt.

Does Maureen Dowd qualify for Secret Service protection?

  • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

Radio Dj introducing McCain relentlessly refers to Obama’s middle name and McCain scolds him for the tactless remarks.

Bernie Mac makes sexist remarks and Obama scolds him ending with “I’m just messing with you”

Difference between class and an ass, Obama is the latter without a doubt!

Seems to me, most comedians are afraid of being labeled ‘racist’ if they joke about the mighty O. Guess they’re suffering from Richard-itis. Or maybe we should call it Kramer-itis.

Narcissists tend to be brittle and unable to laugh at their own flaws, due to their own insecurity.

I think Obama has real negative issues with women.

Doesn’t anyone approve this stuff before an event? I thought everything politicians say/do is completely scripted and planned. Wouldn’t someone run a review of content that will be presented at an event like that?

That seems bizarre to me. No read-throughs, no reviews, approvals?

  • barack who?

Joking about him is one thing, but Senator Rock Star gets offended by a whole passel of subjects.
    IOW, you can’t talk about…

    Michelle O
    his voting record
    his former pastor
    his birth certificate

that’s just four items no one is supposed to comment on let alone make funnies.

  • Zee

I know exactly what it is.

    The audience.

They know their audience is not only uninformed, they’re misinformed and under the influence of Hopium.

My circle is all creative class. I’m known among them for doing political performance pieces, riffing on the absurdities of blowhards.

I haven’t written or performed one piece on Barack, although I did post a spoof on one site where they appreciated it.

Why? Because I know my audience is too ignorant and zoned out to even get it.

Even now, with half of them howling over FISA and government money to CHURCHES, and the other half still believing Obama is just “messing” with the rubes to get their votes, they aren’t in any mood to laugh.

The only avenue open is laughing AT them…and I have to admit, I’m not at all adverse to that.

Someone’s gotta laugh to keep from crying.

We should say let’s make Denver SMOKE FREE and see if Snobama signs on!!!

And you watch…they all throw their non-biodegradable butts on the ground. Some environmentalists.

  • missE

I agree with you Zee. Your comment reminded me of when John Stewart was lampooning Obama about his ridiculous Presidential Seal and Stewart had to tell the audience that it was ok to laugh at Obama.

  • vera possumus

Let’s face it: being called racist nowadays is as stigmatized as being called a child molester. Of course racism is bad, it’s a terrible thing that should be eradicated.

But so is sexism and homophobia, and making fun of other groups like Hispanics and Asians.

It is not okay with me that some forms of bigotry are taboo, and other forms are just kind of ha ha wink wink funny.

Obama benefits from people being afraid of criticizing him for fear of being called a racist. And then he laughs at jokes about women.

That pisses me off more than anything. And I sure don’t want to live through 8 years of that bullshit.

  • ownaa

When Dan Quale misspelled potato, it practically ended his political career. This guy doesn’t know the number of states in a country he wants to govern, and it is the least of his stupidities and people afraid to point that out because he is black? How is it even that related. The more excuses those journalists make for not wanting to do their jobs or just giving him a free ride to the WH, are getting ridiculus by the mintue.

  • hank48188

He was abandoned by his mother at age 10 when he moved to live with his Grandparents, this was after being abandoned by his father at birth, I guess he has issues, rightfully so.

  • Zee

That was a brilliant remark, and captured perfectly that Stewart knew the score.

That said, I’m known for being brutal and I do feel like I’m failing to step up, but the fact is, I’m in no laughing mood myself.

Banks are crashing, they’re calling the police out on the populace and it would be bad enough if we had to wait 6 months to get the one candidate in office to help us, but she’s not even on the ballot.

    Yet.

I’m a firm believer in using humor to pierce the high and mighty. My life’s purpose, as stated (paraphrased) by EB White: the despot doesn’t fear impassioned speeches of ideals…he fears the drunken poet who may crack a joke that takes hold.

Maybe I need a stronger drink?

I live in Denver, and let me tell you that the same people who scream “green” are the same ones driving their H3 and SUVs. They ride their bikes as a hobby, not as a mode of transportation to and from work (with Boulder perhaps being the exception because it’s a campus town). The folks here frequent the Farmer’s market as something to do, not necessary as being good to our earth. We all can’t afford them arugula on the menu, know what I mean. I still see plenty of people driving around in their big trucks, and wearing designer clothes made in China. If someone tells me Colorado is green, I want to see some facts. How many hybrids are we talking about compared to elsewhere. I see more windmills out in Tracy California than I have anywhere here.

Of course racism is bad, it’s a terrible thing that should be eradicated.

We start by defeating Obama who is a racist.

  • Sprout

Sounds like there’s gonna be some more folks under the bus soon.
OMG, I just realized it, Obama has invented a bus that doesn’t need gasoline, it runs on human bodies and all those people he has thrown under it hasn’t been because he wanted to get rid of them, he’s just been low on fuel!!

BO: Well, I sure do love you Michelle, but with the price of gas these days and campaign costs, I’m going to have to throw you under the bus so I can make it to Denver.

MO: But Barack! But…but..WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!

BO: I used them way back in Missouri, it’s your turn woman!

Just as it was not ok for blacks to be treated as less, it is also not ok for them to turn and treat whites this way. That is exactly what they are doing. While they are crying racist they are guilty of the very thing that makes them angry. This is super hypocritical. This is a perfect time for courageous people to stand up and say this shit is going to stop NOW.

  • democracyfirst

Change of topic – the news that Obama made the decision to move the acceptance speech without informing Pelosi or Reid before he announced it to the press has started showing up in MSM – just on a blurb on MSNBC. Sure makes Pelosi and Reid look like fools.

Also, has anyone noticed how Obama, for the past few days, sounds like a pre-schooler trying to read Dick and Jane when giving his speeches. What’s up with that? I never thought he was a good speaker, but this is new.

  • Sprout

It’s a shame that John Stewart more accurately portrays the news than the news media does.
He was on a show with someone attacking him for mocking the mockable and he responded that they were on an actual news show, his show is prempted by a show about puppets making prank phone calls, he’s not in it for the news, he’s on COMEDY CENTRAL.
It’s just a shame that Comedy Central is actually more serious than the MSM.
Besides, a adore John Stewart, the man is an awesome, intelligent and astute comedian who could think circles around the supposed “latte librals” who surround Obambi, AND is better looking while doing it!

The campaign trail is hard on him. When you use cocaine to help “make it through”, it has adverse effects on one’s ability to think and speak clearly.

  • Katmoon

“Oh it’s time for some campaigning”

  • Patti

    Barry Dunham is an American-African.

Hahahahah aahaha oh, not funny and nothing racist about it.

HOBO introduced this message into the campaign way back in February while the press was stifling his personal and professional affiliations. He alone set back peace and race relationships by a good 35 years. He and he alone has caused white and black people alike to wonder if our lifelong friends and neighbors harbor ill feelings about one another.

He makes me sick and he is an enemy of race relationships. Just like us so called “European Americans”, the African American race is also being diluted. Look around you. Bi-racial is a beautiful thing and it is only a matter of time that purebreds are a minority.

He is a disgusting nothing. Hating his effing guts has nothing to do with his race(s). Same goes for MO, ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!. She has spent her entire life trying to separate the races. Read her Princeton thesis. If you can. How the hell she got out of 8th grade is amazing.

She had a bank of 1200 AA graduates. She sent out 400 questionnaires to random “folks” and received 88 responses. The whole thing goes like this: words, thus, more words, thus, some more words, thus, thus, thus. “Thus” is the hallmark of the entire 99 pages of bull crap. I say to her, “so”?

And on a lighter note they crack me up. The exude conceit while believing they come across as aloof. Now that is funny!!!!!!!!!

I’ll never forget the look on old man Bush’s face when Quayle opened his piehole at the Republican convention after he had been appointee VP.
Bush was frozen with embarassment as Quayle prattled on.
I think the reason Bush only got one term was because everyone feared for the country if Quayle somehow became president.
But back to the subject at hand. Obama’s finished. The only reason he would be allowed to continue after the convention is fear of reprisal from AAs.

  • Mr.Murder

The MSM needs disasters to report on, the popular media has become sensationalist. An Obama presidency will provide plenty of disasters for the media to report, just as id did with GWB whom the media supported.

Imagine if the media reported every murder in Detroit or East St. Louis with the same ferocity as each killing in Baghdad. We would be sending Gen Petraeus to our own cities.

I recently saw an excellent satire on how the media would report the invasion of Normandy using today’s catch phrases. It would be reported as an unmitigated disaster and quagmire from which we should immediatley withdraw.

If it bleeds it leads. You will never see a headline PEACE BREAKS OUT. During her lifetime, how many front page headlines did Mother Teresa make?

  • clik212

    tish,

Talk about tightly wound up. For you there’s an Obama under every bed. Obama panders to the left and the right, evangelicals, tired weathermen have been terrorists, Syrian business men, wealthy Jewish dowagers, get a gripe he is not left or right he is “knock, knock. who’s there? Opportunity. Opportunity who? Opportunity at your beck and call.”

There is a misguided belief on these blogs that Obama is some kind of communist radical. He is a smart believer and practitioner of subterfuge. He uses the left and the right to achieve his goal. He is not married to any philosophy that he can’t throw away for expediency. I keep reading the same complaints from both sides of the spectrum. He uses people the way a baby uses diapers, they don’t stay clean too long.

Those of you who are set on making him some kind of left wing boogy man are just as delusional as those that are saying he is closer to McCain than McCain is. In fact if you follow his history he is a craven lover of money and power and he doesn’t care where it comes from. He let’s people like you fill that blank up so that we can fight amongst ourselves as he smiles his way to the WH. You know he’s not that smart, it just that we are so stupid, that he got this far so fast. (When I say we I don’t mean literally all of us but those that drank the kool-aid.

What we are seeing with the Brazile and Dowd pieces is the transformation of Obama from the new new thing to the old new thing on his way to becoming the old old thing.

His white, upper class “creative” supporters never really cared about the issues. They just wanted to make an image statement by wearing this year’s designer rock-star-as-politician bumper sticker. It makes them look cool.

But as yesterday’s rock star fads into the discount bin at Wal-Mart, so too does the image appeal of Barack Obama.

Too bad the country is facing real issues and not Billboard Pop Top 100.

  • Ferdberfle

Talking points only go so far. Beyond that you actually have to have a grasp of the issues. Oblahblah, unlike Hillary, can only speak in platitudes, mainly borrowed from other people. He really isn’t that bright at all.

  • Sprout

OK, this is going to be a difficult attempt to explain what I don’t fully understand. The first and formost thing I’d like to say is that I have never, nor do I now consider myself to be a racist.
150 years ago, blacks were slaves. Technically, that’s about 10 generations, although realistically, it’s more like 7 since most people don’t reproduce until their 20′s. There is nobody alive today who was a slave, there is nobody’s child alive today whose parent was a slave. Yet, slavery is still used as the most divisive rift between races.
I understand it takes a great deal of time to recover from ideas that were sewn into the very fabric of civilization to the extent that slavery was and, if not for slavery, we would have a very low population of black citizens.
There has never been an attempt to deal with the “unspoken” differences in a healing way that brings closure. All whites, even those who are not racist still have the atrocity of racism in the back of their mind and holds some form of guilt for it or anger over it taking place to begin with. Racists are angry that blacks aren’t grateful that it’s over and aren’t stepping up and acting like the rest of the country instead of demanding to be called “AFRICAN Americans”, some non racists are opposed to the term as well as they feel we are all just “Americans”.
In the black population, there is still the idea that all whites are the enemy, even for those who don’t really feel that way, it’s in the back of their mind, ingrained, just as the other is in the white mind.
Until both sides are able to get closure for these issues, there will always be a racial rift, there is no way around it.
That racism, even though it’s held by a very, very small minority prevents people from being able to speak openly because they don’t want the label of being a racist because it’s something they are adamantly opposed to and they know that little seed is way back in their mind and are afraid if they are labeled as racist, maybe they really are.
We are crippled by the fact that we have not set down, as adults and dealt with this emotion, this ideal, this atrocity from our past in a way that leaves no guilt on one side and no sense of reparation on the other.
Obama is untouchable because he is both. He is white and he is black, additionally, his father was directly from Africa and he has no ties with slavery in his family tree in any way whatsoever.
We need to get beyond that barrier, we need to come to terms with it within ourselves and then as a nation and we need to stop being controlled by what people did 150 years ago who probably weren’t even our own ancestors. I know my family was poor as dirt and couldn’t have afforded slaves and on one side is Native American and were treated worse than slaves.
If we look at this Hispanic community, we can see that they don’t have this looming in the backs of their minds and they are much better off for it in many ways. They can make decisions based on other things without that being the driving force. Example: Carlos Mencia, he insults everyone equally LOL.
I refuse to be controlled by what happened 150 years ago. I am against obama, not because he’s black, but because he is an empty suit. There is nothing in this world that could force me to support him when I know he is wrong for this country’s top office, he is wrong for my vote and he will not win this election. I refuse to be subjected to racism or reverse racism and will not be controlled by the guilt or the shame of others when there should be none.
I hope that came out the way I intended, if not, I’ll clarify.

  • Karma

A recent analysis of voter trends in Palo Alto , CA (wealthy, white, highly educated) made that conclusion. Obama is worn as a fashion statement. Issue? they could care less as long as it doesn’t effect them directly.

It found a herd mentality of peer pressure among this class to be socially and politically correct. They need because of their status to self identify as liberals so they don’t seem like uncaring snobs. But everything they do, the private schools, the make and model of their car, is dictated by what is acceptable in their ranks.

The true extent of their liberalism extends no further than bumper stickers and giving the illegal immigrant tending their lawns a little extra at Christmas while wishing them Feliz Navidad in a Frito Bandito accent. This type of liberalism leads to such incongruous results as a Keep Tahoe Blue (an updated version of Save Our Planet) bumper sticker on the back of a 6000 lb SUV stuck in commuter traffic.

Racism still has meaning to those who get the news from the voices in their heads.

  • Sprout

I want to add that being a transpant from a border state to a northern state that I have seen more racism in the north than I ever saw in the south. I realize it’s there in the south but people don’t talk about it. It’s just an unspoken feeling that most people don’t really feel other than the extreme cases where the KKK is active and are true racists.
Living “up north”, the racism is more apparent and there are whispers of “nigger” that I absolutely abhore and never heard in the south. There are blacks who use it referring to one another very loudly, a word only they can use, and, in a way lord it over their white fellow citizens. I don’t like the racial dynamic here at all.
This primary election did show us something significant, that there is more racism in the black population than there is in the white population. When 90+% of the black vote goes to the black candidate, I see that as a racial issue. Half of the black vote is also female, that means that they chose race over gender showing that they are not only racist, but sexist as well.
If we chose one physical attribute and voted on that alone, my vote still would have (still) been for Hillary because I’m female. If it had been the other way around and Hillary was black and Obama was white, it would still have gone to Hillary. I wonder how many from the 90+% that voted for Obama would have voted for Hillary if skin color had been the other way around (her black, him white). If I’m correct that they would have voted for her, then it’s clear where racism comes from in today’s age and there is no more excuse for it now or in that case than there is in any other.
In my lifetime and in my experience, at this point in time, I see blacks as much more racist than I see whites due to this primary. Hints of it existed before but I didn’t really recognize it. The primary made it crystal clear.
Barack Obama, not the voters who oppose him, is the racist as well as a sexist and will never get my vote.

  • Sprout

LOL I thought of that too, I guess it had to be a more “green car” and have only 4 cylinders. I’ve always heard it as 6 cyclinders, never as 4.

We should say let’s make Denver SMOKE FREE and see if Snobama signs on!!!

There are TONS of snob chits exactly like that. The ones who crack me up are the VEGETARIANS who smoke.

No one has ever called me a snob but I do smoke and have been known to go through long periods of being a vegetarian and sometimes vegan, not for health reasons or to be hip. Sometimes I just get over sensitive about eating other creatures. Since tobacco was never a blood and guts breathing creature with big brown eyes I don’t mind smoking the stuff.
BTW, I think Denver is pretty much a smoke free zone already.

Nothing more than a bicycle will be allowed by the campaign’s Carbon Consultant. This job is as important to the campaign as its marijuana connection, who is responsible for keeping the Hope Bongs filled with organically grown promises of change.

He’s definitely a potus, that being a piece of trinity unity shit.

Maybe he plans to break Bush’s Vacation record.

Maybe his chronic fatigue is the reason he won’t release his medical records.

Maybe, since he’s only worked part time but can still afford a 6+ million dollar home, he sees no need to put in more than half days.

Or maybe he’s just lazy like Bush.

I have never been able to listen to Obama speak or read from a teleprompter. I think he sounds like some kind of robo dimwit.

However, I think the comment about trying to read Dick and Jane is interesting because years ago I thought Hillary sounded exceptionally stilted in many of the speeches she gave as first lady. I decided back then that she may have intentionally been speaking more slowly and distinctly than usual because she expected her speech to reach a foreign-speaking audience which might have more trouble understanding a faster-paced speech.

Obama could be doing something like that. I guess he figures he’s figures he doesn’t really need to talk to the US public and he is electioneering abroad to his real base. It’s one world now and he fully expects to be running the show.

    Heaven forbid!!

  • Sam Copeland

This has long been my theory of this part of the left-wing.

It is why Al Gore failed to get elected.

This latte leftist elite has an oppositional identity — the new new thing is a good good thing when it allows the latte leftist to be in opposition to something.

For these folks, William Ayers stepping on an American flag is a good good thing because it is a cool cool thing because it shows an oppositional identity. For the rest of us, Ayers stepping on a flag makes us vomit.

When Al Gore could have won the Presidency, then he wasn’t opposed to anything and he was an old old thing that was a bad bad thing.

Now, that he isn’t likely to run and is opposed to global warming and has an Oscar (and some other international award that isn’t as cool as an Oscar) and he is now a new new thing.

This is why as long as the liberal side has to depend on the latte leftist in order to win elections, they will always fail. If the liberal side selects a winning candidate, then the latte leftist will oppose them because the candidate doesn’t have an oppositional identity. If the candidate has an oppositional identity that latte leftists can enjoy, then that candidate has no chance with the rest of the America, which would like to see some problems solved.

This is why the right-wing keeps winning Presidential elections and will win this one.

Susan: “Perhaps, instead of writing about Obama’s lack of humor, Maureen Dowd should note that getting upset over jokes about one’s self is a sign of narcissism.”

And where is YOUR sense of humor? I fully support your argument that BO needs to lighten up, but shouldn’t we, too? I mean, some of the Bernie Mac jokes really were funny, even if sexist. While I think the New Yorker cover was over the top, it was, nonetheless hysterically funny at first glance.

  • C.S.

If we are still fighting the slavery issue they have to get to the back of the line because Native Americans deserved to be first in line.

But, like the double standards of this campaign where it’s all about Barack Obama; son of a Kenyan father who got no closer to the slavery issue than working for the British; and not the rampant sexism spat at Senator Clinton.

Now, if he was trying to get elected in Kenya, his heritage might be used against him but he has no ties to slavery in the U. S. other than those that might be found through his white mother lineage.

On the plus side for your Highasakiteness, he got an opportunity to mention that its all okay – just a cartoon and incidentally, he found it to be an offense against Muslims. He may have said American Muslims…on Larry King.

yawn. He’s always stirring the pot. It’s a matter of fact that he is a slur against Muslims everywhere, personified. Muslims are beautiful people.

  • democracyfirst

Sprout – I think that came out beautifully.
You are not racist. I know because I feel the same way, and I am not racist. I know some people who are racist to one degree or another and I could never understand or tolerate it.

Racists, no matter what race, all have anger, fear, resentment, and sometimes hate in common. Some have guilt for things that happened before they were born.

Most people have something in their background to be resentful about but you don’t see hatred and anger. Think of what white Americans did to Native Americans – took their land, their homes, their livelihoods; killed their families and left them with nothing.

I cannot tolerate racism, reverse racism or race baiting. It is all the same and the human race should be above it.

I will never vote for Obama because of his character. The fact that he, and his wife, are racist is just one of many bad elements of their characters. I will never vote for a racist, no matter what their race.

Most of the people here are not racist. It is all about character, qualifications, and democracy.

As I have said, Obama does have a sense of humor—at the expense of others. His idea of a “joke” is always followed with “Heh Heh”. He’s a self-absorbed bore. Narcissists rarely have a sense of humor. They are too busy thinking of themselves to be able to think on their feet, which is required of a person with a good wit. Thus, he can’t even put two sentences together without saying Uhhhhhhh…….ahhhhhhhhh. There is no worse joke teller than someone like that.

The humans don’t burn clean either. That cause the bus to lurch back and forth on positions. First he is in the anti-FISA lane, then he changes into the FISA lane, running over the Constitution and the American Flag. Just hope he doesn’t rush into oncoming traffic.

“There is a misguided belief on these blogs that Obama is some kind of communist radical. He is a smart believer and practitioner of subterfuge. He uses the left and the right to achieve his goal. He is not married to any philosophy that he can’t throw away for expediency. I keep reading the same complaints from both sides of the spectrum. He uses people the way a baby uses diapers, they don’t stay clean too long.”

wow nice change! change we to be a s*it?

  • SoldierofChrist

I don’t believe the New Yorker as someone stated on this blog was over the top, they told what most of us are feeling. Period. What a comfort when the journey becomes lighter when big pen soldiers finally see the Light! The pen drawing merely relays what the heart dictates. As for Maureen, that tongue of hers is a flame of fire and it was put to good use! Now, the warning, another day of google interference with the search engine of LS website. Blocking searching and adding ?p=492 to block search. This is what has become of our country, a socialist place run by a few who will take our freedom of speech. I suggest that everyone beware of this beautiful blog, sooner or later, a ?p will be put and discourage seekers from finding it.

  • Andrew

If the campaign trail is this hard on Obama, shouldn’t we expect McCain to be on life support? No, it isn’t the campaign that is hard on him, it is keeping track of his shifting positions, his loud-ass wife, his disappearing war chest, and anyone who talks bad about him. I’d look terrible if I learned that no money was coming into my campaign and that everyone had realized I am a big scam artist.

It’s a step down from the C-student Bush. If a C-student causes as much damage as Bush has, what would happen under a D-student? The sky would implode? The White House would accidentally catch on fire? Obama isn’t going to just choke on the pretzel, he is going to have to have it surgically removed after it gets stuck up his ass. He will say that questions about how the pretzel got there are distractions and we should just pray that no changes occurred in his rectum.

Having read the NY article inside the magazine, I realized that Obama’s path has been to move up the ladder with enormous aid and never stopping at each rung to actually accomplish anything. No sooner does he get a new position, he’s off looking for “friends” to propel him to the next level.
Those “friends” have been very unsavory so each move is a net negative to society.( ie. Rezko slums, Exelon pollution give away bill.)
