ELECTABILITY

I want a Democrat in the White House. At the Convention, the sole job of the delegates will be to select the person who is electable in November.

That person is Hillary Clinton. During the primary process BO did not “close the deal” with primary voters. The more voters got to know BO, the more votes Senator Clinton received. By the time she suspended, not ended, her campaign, she led in the popular vote, in the blue states and swing states needed to win the Electoral College, and in the polls against McCain.

She won convincingly wherever one-person-one-vote was the principle of the voting process; she did not prevail in the caucuses – one of the least democratic voting methods imaginable – no secret ballot, limited access, no absentee ballots…

Senator Clinton has the best, most progressive stance on issues of importance to Democrats – truly universal, affordable health care; sensible mortgage relief to avoid the dissolution of our communities; universal pre-k and greater access to high education; energy independence; investments in infrastructure, urban regeneration, stem cell research and other scientific explorations… she has the connections to and the admiration of the world leaders and populations desperate for strong leadership from the United States…

We know Senator Clinton’s record, her ability to bring people together, her intelligence, humor, and that she is a caring person who has worked unceasingly for women, children and families. We know that she understands the issues and nuances of the middle east and has been a proven friend of Israel and other democratic allies.

We know so little of BO, other than he rose meteorically from the south side of Chicago politics, and gives a good speech.

We know that he stood by silently as the media and his own campaign degraded women and the candidacy of Senator Clinton. We know that he encouraged undemocratic practices such as snatching votes and delegates in Florida and Michigan. We know that his associates and friends are not those we would be comfortable bringing home to mother.

Clinton delegates – please hold tight. Do not give up your seat or believe anyone who tells you that Hillary has conceded or ended her campaign. She has suspended her campaign. At a minimum, we must be sure that the Democratic platform reflects her values and programs. We want her to be nominated, speak and to have a roll call.

If BO is the nominee of the party, we will have plenty of time to decide if he has earned the 18 million votes and support of Clinton campaign volunteers.
If he has failed to “close the deal”, we will be there to remind the delegates that their only job is to nominate the ELECTABLE candidate in order to restore the White House to the Democrats.

    BO has got to go

    BO has got to go

Hillary is in it to win it

Hillary is in it to win it

Madam President is on her way!

      So Sorry Rikki,
I read your emails throughout the primary but I would rather have a known REPUBLICAN than a terror lovin racist name Obambi. It is that simple…

yep, i’m not reading it, i’m not clicking any of their links, i’m still fuming over the video posted earlier, and i’d rather see this site go off topic, back to discussing the war, the world and the corruption in (this) administration so i can continue to enjoy it here, rather than go this root of demeaning, demoralizing, advertisements from these people, whoever the hell they are, calling for us to sell out and sell our souls.

        not doing it-

        NO TO OBAMA

        • http://thehorizontalworld.blogspot.com/ Medusa

I agree that Backtrack can’t win without Hillary but I don’t want Hillary running as VP with that sack of doggy-do.

Hillary is so superior to him in every way. I’m hoping she will stay far away his corrupt ass.

    • destardi

      NEVER VOTING FOR barackula!

      I can’t stand him!

      It was Hillary, or bust.

Now it’s mccain; republican for the first time in my life. Are you proud donna brazile, and howie dean?

    • Carol

No Obama ever. I don’t have anything to think about.

      PUMA$ Who Donate Rule!

  • asimon

A new dictionary by Obama is coming out, primevally in order to help us understand his multiple positions on every thing under the sun, Here is what I found in it:

    UNITY: DIVIDE AND CONQUER.

  • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

If BO is the nominee of the party, we will have plenty of time to decide if he has earned the 18 million votes and support of Clinton campaign volunteers.

I personally don’t need any more time. I am not voting for him, and that includes if he picks Hillary for VP. To me that would be a travesty that would make a deserving loser into a winner. He would still be president. That is the most powerful job in the world. I do not trust him with my country or my life. And I CERTAINLY do not trust him with my rights as a woman.

I wish I had as much faith that the DNC will do the right thing as you do. I don’t think democracy or electability means a thing to them. They are Bought and Sold. Obama has run his Chicago bulldozer over them and even as we speak, Dean, Pelosi and Brazile are nothing more than hood ornaments to him. He has seized the party. For now. We will take it back in November. Just like we did the last time they tried a stunt like this.

    • wodiej

AGREED….He won’t get my vote no matter what he does. I hope Hillary is not VP because it won’t make a bit of difference. I won’t have any part of it.

      • cc

me neither. I sadly can not support hillary as bo’s vp..because doing so sends a horrible message to all women that it’s ok if the world views us as third class citizens. why should the more experienced candidate, one ELECTED by the will of the people, prop up a deficient, corrupt fraud like Obama? I will have no part in that injustice. if women do not stand up this year and make our voices heard now, we will be taken for granted over and over again. women typically won’t resort to violence…but the dnc will hear us loud and clear in november.

    • http://obamafact.blogspot.com/ Mel

If Bambi doesn’t back up a truckload of $300 million to the convention he is toast because he won’t be able to live up to all the SD’s he bought off!

Keep using the prepaid envelopes and send Bambi 2 cents in it as often as you can, become a small donor for Obama and keep breaking the crooks bank!

      • American Woman

Where do you get the envelopes? I read about some prepaid…would love to participate.

I will never vote for a character that is so dishonest about who he is and where he’s been…Too many quilt by associations and just poor judgement and character…and I could go on..as one poster said…thanks to Coward Dean and Pelosi..I’ll be a Republican for a day in November…even if Hillary is on the ticket. He just cannot be trusted with my security and I don’t want him making any decisions as to the education of my grandaughter..

        • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

      • http://www.http://unityindiversity-spiritedpolitics.blogspot.com jmk

What a great suggestion. Where do we get the prepaid envelopes?

    • TeaMug

I had to read that twice!!

If BO is the nominee of the party, we will have plenty of time to decide if he has earned the 18 million votes and support of Clinton campaign volunteers

It has been decided NO BO and NO to Hillary Clinton being his VP

      Hillary Clinton for President

      Go Hillary!!

      • vinnie

Sorry, no disrespect to the writer but “we have plenty of time to decide” sounds like “we will get over it”. NO BO, not now, not ever. Sorry Hillary, even if you’re the VP. NO DEAL.

        • nevergiveup

I will not vote for Obama–period. IF HIllary is the losers VP she would be blamed for everything that went wrong.
It now her fault people are no longer contributing the large sums to his campaign–BO can not accept he is no longer receiving the large amounts of money because people have figured out he is a loser and we do not trust him.

      • BJ

Can you believe they wrote that? is that not the biggest slap in your face insult to us as if we are brainless peons with no knowledge, no depth of understanding and no research under our belts?

        is that not beyond insulting?

        amazing-

        • fif

I don’t think that was Ricki’s intent at all: she is being tolerant of the many different routes that people are going to take, and that’s everyone’s personal choice. She is expressing a commitment to Hillary–period.

          • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

I think so as well. This group seems to be focused on the convention right now and trying to get Hillarys platform and her nomination addressed.
The DNC will not officially give ground to a group saying my way or the highway, but we can rabble rouse and vote our hearts in November.

I think this group is attempting to serve as a conduit to the DNC. Lawd knows they dont want to speak to US, they just want our money…frakkers…

            • NOBama in August

The DNC will not officially give ground to a group saying my way or the highway,

Isn’t that what Donna and the DNC hve been saying to Hillary supporters? my way or the highway?

but we can rabble rouse and vote our hearts in November.

I think leaving it to November is too late. We need to fight for Hillary now for official nomionee in August.

          • Pollpatrol

I agree – HELLO? Rikki is simply making an argument as she would to the supers – Electability. Why is everyone freaking out on her?

          • Mirlo

I don’t think bashing Ricky will do it, she has a right to her opinion. Our stance of going for a democratic convention is a mutual thing, she seems to go for that as well.
If we don’t succeed with that simple, democratic quest, we’ll just have to take the democratic party back in November. Punto.

    • sowsear

I agree 100%. I will never, ever vote for BO. He is despicable.

    • http://mccaindemocrats.wordpress.com/ 30yrdem-not any more

I totally agree with Uppity Woman….Obama is, well I can’t find a nice word for it so I will stop on that… Clinton was different than anyone I ever remember running for president…I may have told this before but…

My 60 something year old husband would actually set down every time she spoke, I have NEVER seen him listen to a politician before in my life..( and he’s a republican)…people connect with her when she speaks is all I could figure…I enjoyed listening to her myself and I haven’t ever really liked someone running enough to try to catch all of their speeches like I did hers. America will miss their chance if Hillary is not the nominee…I think he misses me sending him links to watch a u tube of her…he said over the weekend, you know I still can’t believe she is not the nominee…I told him, you and half of America.

We will be voting McCain in November, I know it is just two votes but how many couples across America feel the way we do? I am guessing there will be a lot of them in November…Aren’t you? :(

      • fif

“he said over the weekend, you know I still can’t believe she is not the nominee…I told him, you and half of America.”

I know. I’m still in some kind of suspended shock, not fully accepting that this is real. HOW can anyone let this complete novice (let alone the hypocrisy, arrogance, pandering etc.) get anywhere near the complexities of a global economy and a sophisticated military during war time???? This American Idol culture has lost it’s mind, literally.

      • http://mbc MBC

I miss hearing her too and having hope for a better future thinking she was going to be in charge.
        Sad.

      • nevergiveup

My husband and I will also be voting for McCain! He to listened to Hillary’s speeches, debates, went to her events when her campaign was in town with me.

My very Republican Cousin–shared the other day Hillary was the best candidate she had ever seen in her 70+ years–she was planning to vote for her. She has never voted for a non Republican in her life–what a compliment to Hillary!

It is very sad: Dean, Brazile and that worm Pelosi destroyed the Democratic Process and the Democrat Party-.

Thousands of Men and Women have died to spread Democracy in Iraq and yet we no longer have Democracy thanks to Dean, Pelosi, and Brazile.

    • not this time

Not to worry, he WONT pick Hillary for Vp. What you basket cases do not get is that if Barack is not sucessful in November, Hillary Clinton’s career will end 2012 when she looses her Senate seat. She will NEVER be the democratic nominee….EVER….think about it, embrace it…become one with that fact

      • BJ

        tell you what-

you run off now and learn to spell so you’ll know the difference between lose and loose and what their individual meanings are, ok?

      • pew

Clinton is too High class to get a second Class Position. It’s President, or Nothing.

        Obama will lose

      • fif

LOL! You are obviously a moron. I live in New York State, and WE LOVE HER HERE! After winning her last race with 67% of the vote, I guarantee, if she runs for the Senate again in 2012 (instead of president), she will win by an even bigger margin. Bet on it dimwit.

        • wry

Damn right! I’m a proud New Yorker and we love our girl. No way is she losing her seat. You’re just an uninformed dimwit who doesn’t know NYC couldn’t care less what they gossip about in DC.

        • norrismorris

I too am a New Yorker and can assure the doubters that Hillary will win every Senate seat or more, that she runs for in New York. She is loved and respected here and has continued to be an outstanding advocate for New Yorkers. All of them. And we in New York know this.

The naysayers are Obama trolls who spend their time engaging in blogging to spread their misery. It is totally naive to postulate that anyone with Hillary’s performance in this primary and the positive results she garnered are unimportant and falsely and foolishly claim her political future over in 2012.

The Obama trolls are at it again to discredit Hillary Clinton’s credibility no matter what. What is even more disturbing is that this group is encouraqed by Camp Obama.

What is even more disturbing is that Obama might become President.

      • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

Hilary will never lose her Senate seat

About the Hillary for VP discussion, all need to see this and know what is really going on. The obama camp is in real trouble and they know it – any who think it is impossible that they would “lower themselves” lol- to drag her down into their VP slot are not up to date.

Buh-bye to your clown Mess-iah and the lot of you cultists. Tell Bill Ayers we said “hello.”

    • C.S.

I can not be a loyal American and vote for Obama; there are just too many holes in his biography that they are trying to fill with cash. I have always believed that my duty is to put the Constitution above any political party.

It is, to paraphrase Martin Luther King, the content of a candidate’s character that is the most important and Mr. Obama has shown a ruthlessness against Senator Clinton and against We the People that does not bode well for Our Country. There is nothing he, nor any party, nor any government official can do to persuade me to vote for him. He is the wrong man for the job and the wrong man for the time and the wrong man for our country.

      • helen

Thank you for saying what I have been thinking for awhile.
I cannot in good conscience vote for obama and at this point any democrat that endorsed him.
The new democratic party sold out America and her people.

        COUNTY BEFORE PARTY ALWAYS

        • http://www.http://unityindiversity-spiritedpolitics.blogspot.com jmk

Went to the together site and saw L.L Rothschild on Fox video. Very articulate spokesperson. Opened with “country more important than party” – so it sure didn’t sound like she’s pro-obama, but diplomatic – as another comment mentioned above.

Keeping in touch as a true Hillary base sure isn’t a bad idea. But if they censor nobama comments, that’d be tough for most of us- wouldn’t it?

Any Hillary supporter, in my estimation, who is willing to support obama – or do anything other than passionately work against him – is sadly ill-informed.

      • BlueDolphin

        I agree with you both.

BHO is a totally unknown element being injected into the national scene of this country, and frankly in mho, does not make for a safe and secure america with him in the WH.

His pathetic attempts to giving a grandiose appearance in Germany at the Brandenburg gates is an atrocious attempt at megalomania. His total behavior in these primaries has been of those kinds of behaviours that are rigid as the islamists…especially where demeaning women and females are concerned. Islamist put women in the cateogry of “property” as in sheep, dogs, camels, goats, etc. They are not to be accepted as part of the european traditions that have taken hundreds and thousands of years to evolve into societies, cultures and mores.

BHO is as dangerous as another “0911″ happening to this nation…except it will happen in and to the WH.

    • Linda K

well said, Uppity. I’ll never vote for him either. Whoever his VP is.

    • Gary McGowan

Obama has not seized the democratic Party. Obama is being used by the forces which have seized the party.

Civilized life (by which awkward term I mean to refer to the daily life almost every person who posts here enjoys; the infrastructure on which that lifestyle depends, the care, and freedom and scope of social intercourse which it provides) is a very fragile thing.

Few were the people of the nation of Germany in 1932 who tried to warn of the coming storms. Voices in the wilderness.

Institutions, movements and political parties get seized and used. Now, to put as FIRST priority, the regaining of such a seized element, ahead of standing for our sovereign nation and its Constitution, is a grave strategic error.

To address the as yet unknown situations (both as to presidential candidates and the geopolitical-economic context) of November, without first engaging the present battle to have Hillary Clinton fairly represented at the convention, is a grave strategic error.

Blog comments get directed and misdirected too, intentionally or otherwise. When intentional, there are people and teams expert in doing this. The author above is proven as one of Hillary’s most loyal and hardworking supporters in NY. The thrust of her work is to get Hillary represented at the Denver convention.

The enemies of the General Welfare (ref the Preamble of our Constitution) are using Obama, George Soros, Howard Dean, et al. to stop Hillary from becoming the nominee. If they succeed, we shall witness first hand what a fragile thing our civilization is.

Let us preserve the Union and the Constitution, knowing, as our great President Abe Lincoln did, that, so preserved, it shall prevail against its enemies, as the founders intended.

[To be clear, and to preempt diversion, I will not vote for Obama, and urge anyone and everyone likewise. He is in no way qualified to be president.]

    • Mirlo

I agree, you put it so well, uppity woman. NO WAY!

  • http://whatsuddenly.blogspot.com Zoe

I was first drawn to Hillary because she seemed to be the Democratic candidate most likely to beat the Republicans. She still is!

  • flyingsongster

I agree with you totally, Uppity.

  • db

With the selection of Obama I am convinced that the democrats love to lose!

    • HARP

Sure. It`s easier to sit on the bench than having to make the calls.

    • Amabo Kcarab

That reminds me of something Taylor Marsh wrote a couple of months ago: “Republicans get it; elections are about *winning*.”

    • BillANDHillarySupportObamaNow

Really, db? I guess the most recent polls which have Obama up by 8 points must really upset your paradigm.

      • Donna Brazile

oh, left the other thread and didn’t answer my question.

Is Obama’s health care plan universal?

Bill and Hillary stop the hate!

        • BillANDHillarySupportObamaNow

Only Kucinich had a truly universal single payer model, silly. But in answer to your question, no, folks aren’t legally mandated under Obama’s plan to enroll in a big$$ insurance healthcare plan.

          • Donna Brazile

            Thanks silly!!

What to do? No universal health care.

Guess I’ll vote for OBush what’s the difference.

            • NoBigotry

Obama does not have a health insurance plan that will put people in prison because they paid for food for the family rather than gave more money to the insurers who helped the campaign.

He does have a plan to mandate healthcare for children as well as the expansion of Medicare – which represents true universal health care.

McSick offers more tax breaks to those that can already afford health care.

              • http://mbc MBC

Quit sounding so stupid. Social Security is mandatory, Medicare is mandatory. How many people are sitting in jail because they didn’t contribute? Quit acting like an idiot!

              • elise

Voluntary measures would tend to enroll disproportionate numbers of individuals with higher cost health problems, creating high premiums and instability in the insurance pools in which they are enrolled. A twenty something or thirty something would see no need for health care if they are healthy which would also raise the problem of serious accidents or unanticipated illnesses. There is a fine under Obama’s plan if someone shows up at an emergency room without insurance, assuming he had any intention of pursuing that policy, but the taxpayers would end up with the bill. Hillary’s plan is detailed and meticulous about how it could
be paid for. It is a serious plan to which she has been committed for many years unlike Obama’s which was created solely for political purposes and will never see the light of day. Neither he nor McCain see it as a priority.

Obama has no intention of initiating any kind of universal health care or he would have made it mandatory for adults as well.

Elizabeth Edwards has been a strong advocate for health care reform and she has disparaged Obama’s duplicity on the issue. John Kerry says it’s a “non starter” which is approximately the same view he held in 2004. That was for catastrophic illness only. It is a disgrace to our country to have families who can’t afford to take their children to the doctor or go themselves which means they postpone care with sometimes fatal consequences. I refuse to accept any argument about costs or complaints like “Socialized medicine”. We can always find the funds for war and defense spending and what does that say about our selfish culture and lack of compassion for fellow human beings?

          • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

they are PARTIALLY mandated. why is that??

only children are good enough for a mandate?

how will Uhhbama handle parents who dont enroll their children adn violate the mandate?

At one debate when asked he said: uh we will handle it, adn Hil said you will have a form of deductions also like my plan,

he said maybe we will have them pay at the hospitsal!!
Hill said what?? you would wait and tells someone in an er you have to pay now?

it would be better to do nothing than to do partial mandate only,

they will have us in their hands, we will have to pay but not all in the pool, kids God Bless, mostly healthy and they will be able to charge whatever they want.

If ALL of us were in the pool we would spread the risk and LOWER the premiums

            see the difference?

see Paul Krugmans columns on it he is the most progressive economist you could ask for.

      • fif

More deranged Kool Aid perception. Which rigged polls are you citing–PPP? I notice you didn’t mention the Rasmussen polls that have him tied or 2 points ahead of McCain, and that Hillary and Gore are 8-10 points ahead. Besides, you clearly do not understand the bias of polling (see NH, CA, etc.) or the incoming assault of the 527′s pointed directly at your weak and wobbly candidate. They are going to make mincemeat of him.

p.s. Dukakis was up 17 points at this time and I don’t seem to remember a President Dukakis.

      • wry

The recent polls …as of TODAY…have Barky at 4. something above McCain…the more accurate ones show him about three…that’s within the margin of error.
A democrat should be doing MUCH better right now.

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFVillarreal Paul F. Villarreal

        False.

The two polls that show BHO up the most are both flawed. WaPo oversampled Dems and Quinnipiac called likely, not registered, voters. That means X-Boxers like yourself who will be at their school dances in November and won’t vote were also asked. Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic was just talking about this today.

Translation for the $7/hour crowd: The polls are a fraud. You’re guy’s still tanking, and nothing can save him now.

        Ha ha ha!

      • nevergiveup

What poll are you referring to this weeks Gallup Poll has OB with a 4 point lead which is within the margin of error.
From a historical prospective Dems usually have a huge lead which erodes by election day– so a 4 point lead spells big trouble for OB—thank goodness people are finally seeing through his lies.

At least other candidate have a plan–OB has the latest flip flop and a speech he gave in 2006!

  • lburg

I want a democrat in the WH too, but NOT BO! Hillary first, McCain second, BO NEVER!

    • simanov

Barcrack is not electable. Once the Republicans pry open his overly populated closet and let the skeletones out, and once they start using his stupid contradicting statements and lies, he is done.
On the other side you got McCain who is only hated by the far left and will not have the black vote, not enough to defeat him.

  • http://deleted AnninCa

We SAW her pull together a formidable movement. Obama? That bunch jumped on because he looked good and sexed them up with big rallies. She won people over the way it should be done for staying power.

What I always respected was that this is more than even electability. What good does it do you to win the game if the will of the people isn’t behind you?
Obama is learning about that now.

A good leader has to be able to sometimes convince people that the ideal can’t be reached right this moment, that the compromise really isn’t a bad sell-out move and, sometimes, that right now is just not the best time for a good law to be implemented.

Obama? I just don’t see him ever convincing the majority of Americans to trust his judgment. Frankly, the way he tried to bluff us on the Wright deal dashed his credibility beyond repair. Great race speech, my foot. I don’t think most reasonable people needed any more than that fiasco to convince them that he’s not the right man for the job.

Hillary was the right person, but…….timing is everything. AA was sexy this year. A woman in pantsuits with a phenomenal grasp of the country’s problems and possible solutions……not so much. At least not in time, that is.

Dems to Lieberman: GOP Convention ‘Last Straw’

So what?If fellow democrates dont speak highly or campaign for Obama is consider what…A traitor?Wow..I dont I never seen a dictator in a party before……

    • NoBigotry

Normal rules for a Political Party. If you campaign for the other side – you are out. Now is time to start enforcing them.

      • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

so Uhhbama should be out then right? He campaigned for Lieberman over DEM challenger Ned Lamont.

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFVillarreal Paul F. Villarreal

When is Chuck Hagel getting kicked out of the GOP again?

Joe whupped up on Lamont and the nutroots. Looks like he’s getting ready to do so again.

    • http://www.http://unityindiversity-spiritedpolitics.blogspot.com jmk

shryani- thanks for the link to the current Dem attack on Lieberman. Since when does someone get thrown out of the party for having the integrity and common sense to not support a particular candidate?

What is becoming of our (former) party?! This sounds more like the behavour of Mormons or pre-sixties Catholic Church toward divorcees. Since when is a political party – in a democracy – a fall-in-line or else DOGMA?!

Lieberman really needs and deserves the support of all true Dems right now – they are also out to defeat his Senate race- going against one of their own who has been a Democratic leader before obama ever stole his first state office.

The number of PUMAS seems about the same number of disenfranchised voters in FL and MI. Do they even poll those 2 states? I’m guessing they don’t since they don’t care about their votes in the primaries.

        • PamFlorida

No they don’t. I don’t believe any of the polls that have BO 8 pts ahead. Who are they calling? Geeze, Real Clear Politics hasn’t adjusted their poll numbers in over 2 weeks, just after they gave BO leads in questional states-like FL, where suddenly BO closed the gap with McCain at -2 pts. No way is BO going to take my state.

    • usaproud

I find it hard to believe that that Many Hillary supporters are voting for Obama, not after the way he treated her. He is so arrogant and where is this money to help pay her debt. His campaign says it will be after the convention that people donate to her…….SURE…it is not going to happen. I would LOVE to see Hillary take back her endorsment of him, it would be a GOOD PAY BACK.

    • fif

Again, which polls are you citing. That is absurd. ABC just did a poll last month that showed that MORE Hillary supporters had defected. Who’s clutching at straws?

  • scorbs

Personally I have no idea about electability but I do know about suitability. A good President is not defined by BO, who is incurious about the world, lacks scholarship, handle on facts, and deep thinking skills. Somone once said he wants the title, not the job. One thing we know, Clinton wants the job.

    • BJ

Wow very well put actually! :)

“… he wants the title, not the job. One thing we know, Clinton wants the job.”

    • ddh312

I decided months ago that O-Boy simply wants the “position” of POTUS. Hillary wants the actual job. And she certainly proved she’s willing and able to do the hard WORK that is involved. Necessary, really. O-Boy, not so much. Maybe not at all, actually.

      • Gary McGowan

        I totally agree.

Let me go way out on a limb here and take this a step further.

At the Democratic Convention things are manipulated so as for Mr Hope for Change to not get the nomination. Nor is Hillary allowed to get it. Our trusted and proven party leaders come up with a compromise/unity candidate. Let’s just say Al Gore (I’m eager to hear other names and reasons for alternate people the party leaders might be likely to come up with, given the party leaders actions so far.)

I think Al Gore fits their desired profile just fine, but I won’t get into that now. I think a lot of people in the PUMA movement would go for it. I hope I’m wrong about that. I sure would not. I think that in the coming weeks we could see the cartel press and media run some names up the flagpole to see what kind of salutes they get (Al Gore was inexplicably thrown into a poll a day or three ago.)

Or… (Just keep Hillary out at all costs is their main objective.) Let unelectable, the total clown have the Dem. nomination with some sort of chaotic crap thrown in to save some face for the party leaders, and put the next president in place as McCain’s VP…

Even from this far out on the limb, Hillary Clinton is the candidate with the best qualifications and policies. I pray everyone will focus on defending her as our candidate–the candidate and leader with the best record and best accumulated life experience to put into place a team and policies toget us out of this situation that, a decade ago, we never imagined we would be in.

  • Hmm

We should start a campaign to pull the netroots people back to Hillary. Not Kos or any of that filth-but the bloggers and the net activist.

Hillary is their natural choice because she is a fighter for liberalism. Most of these people were tricked because of Obama’s giant PR machine.

Now that he has taken a crap on all of them it would be interesting if we could pull some back to Hillary. Lets see him win without the internet support he had.

    • ddh312

Let’s see him win without the ability to raise all that big money any more :-)

      • Gary McGowan

Let’s see them win if the lower 80% of income bracket people (to which Hillary appeals because SHE REALLY WILL represent their interests) rise up and TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY to turn this around.

  • KendallJ

I am worried that the Dem Leaders will try to force Hillary to be Obama’s VP. I hope not, because I love her and would hate to see her degraded in this manner. They know the people want her and that he can’t win without her. These assholes will do anything to keep her from gettng the nomination, because the palosi crowd are corporate whores and Hillary would put the country and its people first.

Its not a surprise that Nobama can’t raise money now that Hillary is out. The Republicans were always funding him and cross voting in the open primaries against her. You know, the dem for a day program.

I would NEVER vote for Obama. HE IS SEXIST AND NOT TRUST WORTHY!!!!!I WILL VOTE GREEN PARTY.

        • NOBama in August

We are very tolerant here. However, this website is not clear as to their agenda.

  • txchelle

From an article by Rick Moran:

Apparently, the Obama camp wants to arrive in Washington next January not beholden to anyone in the party for their victory. This is all well and good except they might remember the example of Jimmy Carter.

Carter also arrived in Washington as an outsider. And while it is true he owed nothing to nobody, the opposite was true as well; nobody owed Carter a damn thing. Soon, it became apparent that simply being the head of the party meant little if there was nothing tangible to cement the loyalty of those under you. The normal log rolling that any president is forced to employ on legislation in order to get it passed is interrupted and in the end, it was everyone for themselves with nothing much getting done.

If Obama believes he will ride into Washington on a white horse and clean up the cesspool there without the help of his own party – help bought and paid for during the election by assisting the party in electing House and Senate members – then he is tragically mistaken. He could very well turn into a one term wonder like Carter.

    • http://www.http://unityindiversity-spiritedpolitics.blogspot.com jmk

Suppose that forecast could be true, except for 2 things:

      1. No one with a brain imagines that bozo has any interest in cleaning up Washington

      2. Nor do most imagine-even if great optimists that this country would easily recover from him having even one term – that being if we even survived it.

  • DaveTV

It is getting more scaring if you look at AOL straw polls:

    McCain: 68%
    Hussein: 32%

Obamabots must be very scared by now, that is why they send lots of trolls both at high level (Ricki) and low level here.

    • BillANDHillarySupportObamaNow

DaveTV, the more scientific polls (AOL is an internet provider, not an empirically sound poll) must really have you blue tonight:

      THE NUMBERS (Quinnipiac University poll)

      Barack Obama, 50 percent

      John McCain, 41 percent

      • Donna Brazile

You disappoint me! Can’t answer a simple question.

        • Lou

Donna, go find your joy! Stop the hate!

      • fif

LOL! You only quote Quinnipiac, one of the worst pollsters. Who are the “more scientific polls” you cite? I didn’t see the pro-Obama polls in there that have him dropping like a stone.

      • ddh312

Perhaps you should take a look at the most recent Newsweek poll. And get a grip, troll. In the current political climate — after nearly 8 years of Bush and Repub rule — your presumptive nominee SHOULD be polling landslide victory numbers. The hope and change guy. He’s not even close to that. Wonder why?

      • http://www.youtube.com/user/PaulFVillarreal Paul F. Villarreal

This is likely voters, not registered voters. A very unreliable group to be sampling. Says Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic on this poll:

“Note: be wary of likely voter screens at this early stage; registered voters are usually a bit more palatable.”

        marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/07/qpac_poll_obama_9.php

Also, if you want to talk about terrible numbers and bad consequences, how about Mish’2 20% favorability rating among white voters in that NY Times poll? Wow. No wonder Jamaal Punk Simmons is trying to take shots at Cindy McCain. I mean, you can’t win ANYTHING with those kinds of numbers. Or how about BaJoke’s 31% favorability among whites?

Your candidate is tanking, and fake polls like Quinnipiac’s aren’t going to save him. And let’s not even start on The Bradley Effect.

        Mess-iah’s going Humpty Dumpty.

        Ha ha ha!

  • J. J.. (The P.U.M.A.)

I don’t know what I would do if Hillary was the V.P. nominee. But, I have a brother who will not vote for Obama if he picks Hillary, so maybe Obama is screwed either way.

By the way, I have a weakness for Robert Novak, the prince of darkness. I get his newsletter, Ne has an interesting theory. He claims that Obama is in trouble in any state where he is not polling 50%, even if he is ahead. Based on that, Novak has the election currently at Obama 273, McCain 265. That is much closer than other projections.

  • Karma

Sorry Ricki…he has already proven to me he doesn’t deserve my vote.

There isn’t a ballot in this country that doesn’t have a space to WRITE IN the candidate of your choice. I intend to use that space to write in Hillary Clinton. I don’t believe Barrack Obama has what it takes to lead this country through the many challenges it faces. He has an awesome ability to deliver a speech that someone else has written. I have been waiting for someone to come forward and tell us how any of his work in public life has helped them, or anyone else. Hasn’t happened. He has not completed even one term of the job the people of Illinois elected him to do. I’m a life-long member of The Democratic Party. But I won’t be casting my vote for Barrack Obama, and I think the super delegate ought to be ashamed of themselves. This is the same kind of bandwagon the Republicans used to haul George W. Bush to The Oval Office, and we see every day what that has led to.
I also refuse to hold my nose and vote for John McCain. He can protest the facts all he wants to…but this country cannot survive another four years of the same failed policies of The Bush Administration. That’s what we’d get with John McCain.
I’m not, as some people have threatened, staying home and not voting on election day. My vote is my only voice in the government of this country. I may have only one vote, my voice may be small. But I will be able to lay my head down and sleep with a good conscience that I have voted for the right person. I invite the more than 18 million people who have vote for Hillary Clinton in the primaries, all the people in the caucus states who were intimidated into standing with the Obama crowd, and all the Republican and Independent voters who couldn’t cast a ballot in the Democratic primaries to join me in November and…
    WRITE HER NAME

    • http://deleted AnninCa

What I understand is that write-in votes may throw out your entire ballot in some states.

      Check to see.

      • BJ

correct- or they are switched to obama.

    • YoNoForObama

Not voting for McCain could possibly put Obama in the White House. Would you really rather see Obama in the White House for eight years because each and every vote for McCain and against Obama WILL count. McCain has said he will only be in for four year and Hillary would still be only 64 in four years and would likely run. Do you think she would run again being 68 years old (never mind electability) and after 8 years of a failed Obama presidency?

What is there about that that you do not understand? Al Gore lost the election by 537 votes. Every vote for McCain, Obama has to have two votes to make up for it so I guess what you’re saying is you’d rather have Obama in the White House than have a Republican have it for four years. McCain isn’t another Bush. McCain has a history of working across the aisle and that’s why the conservatives can’t stand him. I have been listening to right wing radio for the last month because that’s the only place I can get my daily Obama slammin’ every day and they can’t stand McCain because he won’t do what they want him to do.

So I guess by your statement what you’re really saying is you would rather have Obama win the White House for 8 years and ruin Hillary’s chances of ever running for President again.

      Hillary or John ’08

      • sproutingly

        Damn straight. Well said.

This is a huge turn around from together4us video on MSNBC with Jill Iscoll’s interview stating she would vote for Obama if Hillary does not get on the ticket as VP.Why are you pushing this group they do not speak for true Hillary Supporters who do not want Obama in the presidency.escpecially if she will run in 2012. She can not run as an incumbent so it has to be Mccain this time around or Hillary will never beabel to run again.it will be too late.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Oh, I’m not as sure about that as you. I truly think he’s a disaster.

OBAMA WILL LOOSE THE GENERAL ELECTION!!!! THE DEAL HAS ALREADY BEEN CUT. HE WAS IN IT TO DEFEAT HILLARY, NOT TO WIN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHY HIS FUNDRAISIG HAS TAKEN A NOSE DIVE!!!!!

Pelosi, Reid and Dean probably did not count on the money for the down ballots to have vanished so quickly. But these assholes sold their soles for the promise that they would dominate the party with a significant democratic majority in each of their respective chambers of congress. They would rather oppose a centrist Republican President, knowing that they have enough of a majority to control him, than to have a democratic president like Clinton who would have more power and influance within the ranks of the party than they would.

The corporations back them because they are filthy elitists whose power is fed by corporate money. Like an addiction, they are slaves to corporate interests. You and me? We get disefranchised, so they can make all the decisions.

On the other hand what is what we don’t know about McCain? (Actually it turns out that he doesn’t have a well established opinion about Viagra, but really, what else?)

He’ll probably take California – but maybe not. I’m hoping my state, Oregon, will go McCain if Barry Hussein is the Democratic candidate. I’ll certainly work on making that happen. We lose her, we get mediocre, compromised (at best) health, environmental and economic plans.

  • SFK

I support Electability Watch and write superd’s, but I do NOT support Bobo as President even if the Virgin Mary is his running mate. Period. No Deal. Never.
I think Together4Us is supporting Hillary as the VP candidate.

    • BJ

a ‘virgin mary’ is about as realistic as a proven, gifted, qualified, successful obama -

  • Northwest rain

I agree with the majority — BOBO is not electable.

BOBO can only win if he cheats.

There is no way that I would vote for BOBO — I already know who he is. BOBO has enough of a history that if anyone cares to do a bit of research — we find that BOBO is a liar.

BOBO comes from the corrupt Chicago political machine — and he rose to the top of this political machine because he played a dirty game. Even his home is the result of dirty deals.

We do NOT need Chicago style politics in DC — taking over DC.

    • jwrjr

Obama will try to cheat (if he gets awarded the nomination). Problem is, the Repubs are better at it than Obama is.

      • roseeriter

Obama and the DNC already CHEATED. Country over Party Loyalty.

I’m sick of cheaters and liars in the WH.

        NOBAMA! EVER!

There is something terribly wrong with needing a VP candidate just to be acceptable to your own party.

  • KendallJ

    Very funny clip!!!!

I hope they don’t force Senator Clinton on to his ticket!!!!!I can see them doing that just to torture her.

LET’S RETIRE HER DEBT SO SHE ISN’T BEHOLDEN TO ANYONE!!!SHE IS TOO GOOD TO PLAY SECOND FIDDLE TO OBAMA!!

Larry, please continue to tolerate the dissenting comments. Doing so reflects well upon you. Thanks.

Yes please do so Larry. If only to make the distinction between the treatment a BOBOweenie gets on a pro-Hillary site vs. the treatment we get on a pro-BOBOsite.

So far, my list includes these women. If you have received threats of violence or death from Obama supporters because of your political activities or writing, or you know someone who has, please tell us in comments. Also send me an email at murphy@pumapac.org

    ………………………………………..

There are others that have told me of other death threats and we know of Tavis Smiley receiving death threats (even his family). This is very serious and our elected officials need to know what is going on in AMERICA!

I say that some people took this “hunt” then down and “track” them down a bit too seriously. Keep in mind that some do believe he is the Messiah and he has done nothing to set them straight.

We are entering some pretty sad times. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Association (political participation) is the corner stone of our country, one shouldn’t have to worry about death threats for exercising ones CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS!

    • BJ

why was tavis smiley threatened? he’s so far up obama’s ass he should feel all warm and protected in his cushiony defense of the guy-

by the way taylor marsh was threatened too but she probably won’t admit to it now , now that she’s on his bandwagon of thugs-

      • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

when Tavis SMiley convened the SOTBU, Uhhbama didnt show, he offered MEchelle, but since Hillary had accepted Travis said no thanks to MEchelle. Tavis criticized Bawacks chickenshxt failure to show and they threatened he, his MOM even! he left his co host spot over this crap, just like what they did to John Lewis and Michael Nutter in PA.
And that lovely man in OH, what was his name, we gave him money during the primary..he was threatened for his seat also, and he was on MSNBC and talking about his to little girls…..

they r running someone against Meeks in NY anyway even after Hillary suspended to protect them…they say Meeks should have endorsed Uhhbama faster…

THIS is why I can not understand why anyone Hillary supporter would vote for him and I really can’t understand why any would want Hillary anywhere near him.
As a life long Dem, I say Country before Party if Obama is the nom

    • Lou

They are just ‘saying they’ll vote for BO” then behind the curtain pull the lever for McCain and never tell anyone.

  • Laura

    30 year democrat no more

My husband and I will never vote for BO. Husband watched Hillary and saw through BO immediately. At first I was just going to leave president blank but he convinced me BO wants to suppress the vote.If Hillary’s supporters remain disspirited enough to not vote at all it will hurt McCain. That’s my husband’s view. He thinks the guy is unready and arrogant and McCain is what’s left.I just don’t think my concerns are BO’s.Too bad we were half a mile from heaven with Hillary.

  • judd

The silence of Hillary is a message.

There are 2 possible messages to consider…….

BO will ask her to be VP because he fears a floor fight……………….

Hillary takes it to the floor………and then takes the VP position……………..

The sad part is, if Hillary takes the VP she will be associated with the freak OB.

People need to get to Hillary and convince her to fight and give her reason and the means to fight.

    AND

If the super delegates asses do not start turning like yesterday, there will be no changing of the situation in Denver.

Where the hell is the dam scandal on Obama that was supposed to take his ass out of this race once and for all?

    • Lou

The silence is because she is busy writing bills in the Senate..like yesterday. She still has work to do that she promised people on the trail. She keeps her word ya’ know.
Look, she gets a breather from all the character assasination and lies done to her.

  • sproutingly

Ricki of Together 4 Us states right up front: “I want a Democrat in the White House”.

Together 4 Us does not speak for me. If Obama is that Democrat then, I have to say no, do NOT want a Democrat in the White House.

I am not open to other points of view. I have made up my mind. I do not want Obama under any circumstances. I will not vote for him if Hillary is his VP.

This group is saying, “Yes, we love Hillary, we support her. Obama has been terrible, hasn’t he. But if he is the nominee, oh well, at least he’s a Democrat and ya know, I’ll just bet we can get him to support Hillary’s objectives if we just pitch in a work real hard to convince him”.

Oh please. Take that crap somewhere else.

Exactly, and how offensive is that? Especially for many women who for all their lives have been expected NOT to fight for their rights and views. No more.

Why’s everyone saying I’m the “the worst speaker in the history of Congress,”?
If you are mad about the gas prices, don’t blame me. We have two oilmen in the White House. The logical follow-up from that is $4.25-a-gallon gasoline. It is no accident. It is a cause and effect.

    • Nancy Pelosi

What a disaster having people in government who haven’t spent their entire lives in politics! That explains everything. A government official with relevant experience or knowledge about an issue is obviously a crisis of gargantuan proportions according to Ms “he’s a fresh face” Pelosi.

This must be why the Democrats are nominating B. Hussein Obama, who finished middle school three days ago and has less experience than a person one might choose at random from the audience of “American Idol.”

It is dreadful to watch the “former” Sen. Hillary Clinton supporters sounding off about Sen. MacCain, do they really believe the thing they say?

Most of you that are former Obama supporter and former Sen. Clinton Supporter Who…who are you guy, please go away.

Most of us here support Sen. Hillary Clinton because of her believe and what she stand for. There is a track record of her work.

For you “former”, please do not tell me that you are supporting Obama because he is a democrat, or because he is black, or because you want to make history, and etc. That is very weak!

we vote base on the past record of a candidate, most of all for President, it is not about history, it is not about race, it is not about hidding behind rules, one who suppressed the vote in Michingan and Florida have you forgot, we have not. For me, your Obama does not cut it, moreover, not after how he treated the Clintons, calling him racist, we have not forgotten, injustice against one is injustice against all, after the uplifting the clintons brought to my community. I know whom I am and where my people came from, and we do not forget who gave us hand when we needed it most. Your Obama was not there, he talks down on us to win an election I am an American the problem we have is American problem, my Clinton was the clintons has been there all along.

    Please spare me your pain!

So do not come here and tell me how we are democrates. Do you believe the thing you are saying.

We will be voting for the qualified Candidate. I am a democrat, my Country comes first, then the party.

  • Ugo

This place is No quarter, and here we do not spin.

The Clintons has been there for my community, when nobdy noticed, there are still here when all of you and your Obama group are gone.

We stand with her, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, we do not want her on that ticket as Vice Presidential, we will not be voting for Sen. Obama no matter what.

  • hmmm

Barack Obama leads in the electoral college as we speak

  • http://puma caligirl

Look for a credentials fight over Fl and Mi at the convention.

Also it is little noticed but in the Nelson vs Dean suit over Florida there are 4 states that slipped their primaries/caucus outside the authorized Dem windows for their dates and no action was taken on them.

Those 4 states will now be open to credentials challenge also.

Lots of other stuff in the mix also but don’t want to cloud it up here with too many issues at one time.

    • Gary McGowan

A lot of us (well, me) are interested in learning more about such issues. Hope to see more thoughts or links from you or others on this.

I appreciate your not wanting to cloud it up here with too many issues at one time. I’ve been hoping to see whole blogs and threads on the topic, but am unaware of any good ones.

  • http://puma caligirl

Remember none of the delegates are locked in here. Not just the Super Ds.

Any of the early primary/caucus states that got buyers remorse over say Rev Wright and such and the way Hill was treated could flip and zip on him….

What, exactly, is the message of Together4us??

The “together” woman interviewed by Andrea Mitchell (vid posted here yesterday) talked like she was ready to jump into the sack with Obama, sickening!

I won’t vote Obama, I don’t care if Jesus is his VP!

    • OhVoter

I agree 100%. I am just getting caught up with yesterdays articles and saw the video of Jill Iscoll’s appearance with Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC. This group is NOT what I want to be involved with. Ms. Iscoll is bending so far backwards to appear fair and respectful to Obama and to the Democratic Party that she is going to crush several disks in her spine. This Together4Us group is nothing I want to be involved with!

  • DancingOpossum

I don’t care if my MOTHER is his VP. (And sadly my mother happens to be an Obot! Oh the shame!)

BTW, keep this in mind from the Denver Group, VERY IMPORTANT:

There is a crucial difference between Senator Clinton’s name being “on the ballot” and having her name being placed in nomination. And the difference is between being a genuine candidate and something that is nothing more than a symbolic sham. Both the DNC and Senator Obama’s campaign may be attempting to negotiate a settlement where Senator Clinton’s name is on the ballot but not placed in nomination. They may think that is enough to assuage her voters. They may think that voters can be fooled. Our ads are going to make sure they know that no one is going to be fooled.

We’re going to let them know Senator Clinton’s name on the ballot is not good enough. Her name must be placed in nomination for it to have any meaning so that super delegates have a real choice in deciding the nomination by casting their votes for either candidate. Nothing less is acceptable. And they’re going to know it.

I note this because some people have reported that they called the DNC and were told “of course Hillary’s name will be on the ballot.” They (the DNC) continue to CHEAT and DECEIVE Hillary voters.

You cannot win, if Hillary gets the nomination the BO supporters will tear this party apart. You people are not going to hijack out party again

The purity of the party??? hmmmmm…what does remind you of.

…BO supporters will tear this party apart.

Obama and his supporters have already torn this party apart.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Actually, I think we’re just older Dems. That seems to be the common denominator.

Obama replaced older, traditional Dems with younger Independents.

That MAY be the way of the world. I don’t know. But I do know that you’ve got some fundraising to do for the DNC, or that convention is going to be a mess.

And don’t forget to support your downticket Dems, too. It’s not good enough to just send 10 bucks to Obama. Gotta help out your state and local groups.

And by the way, gotta canvass for others, also, not just OBama.

There’s a lot for you youngens to learn about party politics.

      Good luck.

  • COLIN

    We love you Ricki!!!!!

  • http://www.cancer-blog.org/ Emily

Hillary Clinton repeatedly advances the argument that she is more electable than Barak Obama. If this were what the super delegates were considering, she would have a chance. Unfortunately for Clinton, that is not the deciding factor for the super Ds.
