Flip-Flopping

Usually I dutifully click all the categories covered in a post. But there are so many flip-flops here, it’d take me a half hour to list them all.

Kudos to backitupwithfacts.

  • roseeriter

The only thing Obama is really good at is double speak. Talking out both sides of his mouth or opening mouth and inserting foot..oops that’s 3 things. Wow.
Maybe I should take another look and listen… NOT

    NOBAMA!

    • TeaMug

The only time Obama speaks the truth is when his mouth is shut.

      flippy floppy nutless wonder.

      Hillary for President!!

    • vinnie

He said all along he was about CHANGE…that is, change his position when it suites him. What a fraud. The part in his book about loving to do Town Hall…”like a dip in a cool stream.” LOL. Based on his ummm-ing and uhhh-ing, seems like he’s dippping in the river of Styx.

      • Susan

I can’t wait to see the RNC use videos like this!

        • MaryPat

Who says Obama can’t be mined for laughs? The flip-flop ears are funny, funny, funny…

  • http://commonsensegram.wordpress.com ProudMilitaryMom

“Cynical about politics?” You bet I am- and the selectee and the Demented Nut Cases are the reason for my cynicism!
They choose the candidate that they have decided we are to unite behind, they stole delegates from Hillary and gave them to their selectee, they stole the uncommitted delegates and gave them to him, cut the votes of two states in half and carried himm across the finish line.
Now they want us to Unite? What are these people smoking?????
I Own My Vote! I am not voting for this flip-flopping, website scrubbing, lying fraud!

Cynical? YES and “bitter” and clinging to my vote!

  • Patrick Henry

Thats what happens when you are preparing a menu..hotdogs don’t sell at a latte stand..

    • TeakWoodKite

Hotdogs would sell if they were made from lean ground BO lying veggie matter, with No No NO God Damn Amerikkka food dye, a pinch of fairy tale relish, smothered in a good portion Slippery Slop Flipfloppery fermented in BOO’s CRAP CANNON! Only the Buns were retieved from under the bus.

Hope you and yours are well Patrick Henry. :)

      • Patrick Henry

Thanks Kite…That all sounds like what Obama already serves at all his fund raisers…

I’m recovering from surgery..Thanks for the well wishes…same to You ..always good to hear from you..

Flip flopping…or as Stephen Colbert would call it “Truthiness”. Truthiness is what you want the facts to be, as opposed to what the facts are. What feels like the right answer as opposed to what reality will support.

I’m absolutely amazed that all of a sudden race matters in the media when for decades they’ve been some of the main perpetrators…….

Good article from Sugar N Spice, Hilarious Obama pic.

  • Buck Farack

Hey “believe” where are you? Out to the store because you ran out of cheetos? The Obamessiah needs you!

    • asimon

“believe” was caught trying to think and was sent to re-education camp.

      • Buck Farack

I think maybe “believe” just changed names and is still “educated” so no need for the camp. I hope she remembered to bring her dollar off on cheetos coupon!

        • steven Mather

believe is now NoBigotry (NoB) and has just arrived.

          • Buck Farack

That figures. From the gullible “believe” to “NoBigotry” when Obama is one huge racist.

            • Elizabeth Reilly

Obama is too involved in contemplating his navel to realize that HE has worsened race relations in this country and that divide is widening. HE and his cohorts have shown us that blacks carry a hatred of whites with them in their daily lives. I’m frankly no longer comfortable around blacks, because, thanks to Wright, Michelle and Obama’s associates over the years, they have shown me what they really think of whites, and behind the facade of civility, and when they’re amongst their own, they ridicule and revile us.
As a result, the sympathy I have felt for them has waned in recent months and if you want to use that as an excuse to call me a racist, so be it. I won’t knowingly hurt or insult a black, but by the same token, I don’t have to cater to their duplicity. It’s very sad that 13 or 14% of the country feel that they own it and will bring violence and revolution if Obama isn’t elected. That’s not democracy. That’s against everything that is democratic.

His staff cannot explain his mixed messages. Here’s Susan Rice, his foreign policy guru, on why Obama established his Iraq policy before going to Iraq. If you can parse this and get something coherent out of it, you’re a smarter person than me:

    http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/07/obama_delivers_iraq_war_speech.html

Said Rice, ” But I think obviously Iraq is an important and critical issue in this election.

“Senator Obama has spoken and written about it multiple times during the campaign, as he will continue to. And this was an important opportunity, in light of recent events — most notably what we’ve been hearing from the Iraqi government about its desire for a timetable, what we’re hearing from our own general on the ground, General Dubik, about the enhanced readiness of the Iraqi security forces — to reiterate his approach and to underscore that he remains firmly committed to ending the war, to responsibly redeploying our forces, and to addressing the critical unattended national security challenges that we face.

Now, that has been his approach for the last several years. It remains his broad approach. As commander in chief, Senator Obama will set the strategic direction, and that strategic direction is ending the war, for the reasons I’ve repeated several times now.

He has also said consistently over the last several years that when it comes to tactics, he will listen to what his commanders on the ground have to say but ultimately it’s his decision as commander in chief as to how to affect [sic] that strategic necessity of withdrawal, and he remains committed to doing it.

Nevertheless, if he were to go to Iraq and Afghanistan, certainly he would welcome the opportunity to have substantive discussions with Iraqi leaders and American military and civilian leadership in those countries and to have the opportunity to assess circumstances.

But that assessment certainly might inform how the policy that Obama sets will perhaps be implemented in its details. But its broad forms as outlined yet again today in The New York Times of a responsible redeployment for strategic purposes that can be affected, [sic] we believe, safely in 16 months, is the policy that he will pursue.

And it’s the policy we must pursue to really build and reset our military to deal effectively with al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan and, indeed, to catalyze the political progress that is Iraq’s best hope for sustained political security, and indeed to deal with the reality that the Iraq leadership themselves had said that is what they’ll insist upon, the reality that just ….. continues to deny,” Rice said.

    Condi Rice’s replacement? Help us.

    • B from Bloomington

Deciding policy on Iraq before going to Iraq makes about as much sense as choosing VP Chief of Staff before choosing VP… maybe it’s his “new kind of politics” aka political expediency. Whatever. Stupid is as stupid does, and this one is seriously stupid if he thinks he can win.

  • Lee12

My, my, he seems to be getting testier and testier.

    Wah! Wah! Wah! Cry-baby

Oh yeah, Obama dude, seriously, I have tried listening to you. I even voted for you two times in Illinois. Listening to you was the problem then and still is now. I am off the koolaid….everytime you speak the only thing that comes out is jibberish.

    God help us.

  • Untilthelastdogdies

Thanks for the video. Great stuff! Looking at the flip-flops instead of ears made me start thinking. You know if he could learn to control those ears of his, he could just flap them and rise above the crowd. Then they would really believe he is their messiah. Background music playing, “you are the wind beneath my ears”. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

  • fred

I think Obama inflated his June numbers by adding some of his July fundraisng numbers. This guys think their the best at mind manipulation…that held off reporting to add July monies into June

  • Faustina

Well, in one sense Obama is being fundamentally consistent…he is blaming other people for his own deficiencies.

    I am so sorry Barack.

I will try to listen more closely in the future. And if I think you said something you really didn’t say, just tell me again so I’ll know what you want me to think you are saying or were saying or will say or whatever—just whatever you say whenever you say it, Barack, is cool.

    Coolness, that’s what really counts.

  • John

Obama is still up 2 in Gallup, even in Rasmussen; if the convention goes badly for him (’68, anyone?) he’s in deep trouble.

  • imustprotest

Here’s to making the convention go badly for him John….PUMAS to Denver!

  • fred

Oblah blah only up 2 in both poll Rasmussen and Gallup…awww where’s the LOVE

I can’t turn on cnn for 7 minutes at a time without hearing about their “black special” they’ve been advertising for weeks “blacks in america” with Soledad O’Brian (who’s 1/4 or 1/5 black of something-

I am so sick of them ramming obambi down our throats and that’s all this is- they adv this special literally approx every 7 to 10 mins on cnn.

Meanwhile some clown name Peter Souza (sp) is coming out with a new book : Barack’s political career in pictures is that not laughable?

Seriously, are we going to have a new special day set aside each week and be enforced to bow and worship our new messiah? will it be strictly enforced?

Will one of the pictures in this new book be the one where Obama’s on the telephone deep in thought – and the phone is upside down? an obvious setup photo-op- will that be in the book?

I swear I hate this guy more every single day and the more they shove their empty suit corrupt unqualified arrogant messiah down our throats the more I hate him.

    NO ObamaEVER!

    • Susan

Hey, I’d actually have to consider the guy if he makes more federal Holidays! I’d like 1-2 per week, paid for by my company of course!

Ok, just messing with ya. Even if Bacrackpipe is for it now, he’d be against it by January if not sooner!

First of all flip flopping is good. Don’t you listen to your leader Governor Arnold ? It is Obama’s judgement that I am voting for. So he can change in whatever direction he wants to go since he possesses the wisdom that Hillary and McCain lack. As long as Barack is making the pancakes, he can flip flop all he wants to.

    • HARP

Obama’s judgement?… How is that FISA thing working for you?

    • BJ

“since he possesses the wisdom that Hillary and McCain lack”

      what wisdom exactly?

i think susan rice is obamas little nappy headed ho advisor. she is not smart. she is supposed to have all this high education. bullshit. i think its time for bush to tell obama to get the hell out of foreign policy, hes not the president, hes nothing but a freshman senator riding the racial wave in this country. he better be damn careful in muslim countries…i heard that if you are born to a muslim father, thats what you are and they might try to kill him over there for now being a christen now. or, what is he today ?

  • Ugo

That should explain to you that you do not have to quit democratic party to vote your principle. You can still remain a democrat and vote for Sen. John MacCain. He love this country more than he loves RNC, but he is republican, he does not fellow the party blindly, so why should you or are you a zombie?

    I am not!

All you have to do is vote for the very one that put his country first, someone who really has a record that you can look up, someone that had already make a hard decision when it matters most, someone who looks you into your eyes and tell you things you do not want to hear but the truth, someone who real knows what truth and words meant something to, that person my friends is Sen. John MacCain.

You do not vote for someone because he is running under the umberella of Democratic party. They have to quit our party, we are not going to quit our party for nobody.

    • BJ

You’re post isn’t proof read thus makes no sense, but I’ll comment on your one statement, “you don’t need to leave the democratic party”.

I sat here and heard Donna Brazille one day on cnn say “they don’t need us” the “Dem party doesn’t need them anymore” (referring to Hill supporters).
this was way back in the middle of the campaign season, not even near the end (not that it would have been ok then either).

If you can sit there and be a Dem after the party has made it clear they don’t need you or want you, well then more power to ya.. be used and spit on if it suits your fancy.

      and aside from all that

It is called the ‘Democratic Party’. the behavior they exhibited this entire primary season was far from anything that could be called “Democratic”.

      ..just my 2 cents

      • BJ

        (you’re -your)

but at least it makes sense and is readable

    • http://deleted AnninCa

I quit. I absolutely withdrew my status. I am not a happy-go-lucky Independent.

That’s my solution, not for everyone.

What I became increasingly convinced about was this entire Republicans are evil/Democrats are good notion just doesn’t line up with my values. I’ve never thought that.

I very much disagreed with the Republican attack on the Clintons. I forgave them. A lot of them, Gingrich, got to know Hillary and admire her now. They agree with me that their attacks were unfounded and a waste.

I very much disagreed with the tactics of the Dems against Hillary. Far worse than Republicans. I was absolutely turned off, won’t forget for a decade, and have no interest in the new party, even today. Read the comments on even things like Bill’s new effort on malaria. These people are just nasty bugs to me. I want nothing to do with them.

I decided my solution is to find both moderate Dems and Republicans to support. I want substance, and I don’t care about the label.

I think the entire “We have to vote a Dem in!” mantra is stupid. Why? I just watched Pelosi push through a horrible law that violates the people’s rights to privacy! That was preceded by watching the farce of the great MI compromise, where the Democratic party took 4 delegates from a candidate to make it “fair.” ???????????

This Democratic Party does NOT represent my values or my thinking.

      It was time to leave.

So no, I’m Independent, and I like it now. It’s taken more than a month here to get used to the new identity, but I do like it.

I can compliment Republicans who make sense as well as Democrats…….on issues.

I can stop insisting that someone always be one way or another.

I can look for good character traits. (I’m in love with Nutter, for example. I want him to be the new AA voice on the national level!)

I can defend Democrats who make sense (but not always the way I like) like Feinstein. I can respect Boxer’s neutral stance, which she actually adhered to, unlike Pelosi. I can condemn Pelosi, nevermind she’s a Democrat. She’s a snake, too.

I like being Independent, and I think I’ve outgrown my need for party politics.

      It’s a lot cheaper, too. :)

      • http://deleted AnninCa

That’s NOW not NOT a happy Independent.

      • DrMK

    Good afternoon all;

A special Hello to you Larry. I do not comment often, but I’m on here everyday, Larry you always have some great Posts.

First of all, Fred I loved your slogan. It needs to be on a T-shirt. Mind if I borrow it? When I go out in blogosphere and run across the Obamabots in my travel, I would like to say that slogan to them to really get them started.

I’m in blogosphere every day beating on the Hornet’s nest, with my big Stick, making the Obamabots angry.

I love to leave them word BOMBS and then leave. I never respond to them, as my mission is to drop Knowledge and then leave.

      Article about the real totals.

      http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/07/obama-more-than.html#comments

“Per ABC News’ Political Director David Chalian, the DNC raised $22,481,194 in June and has $20,306,056 cash on hand. Meaning the Obama campaign and DNC have a combined total of nearly $92 million in the bank, not $72 million as previously claimed.

Meaning the “huge cash advantage” of McCain and the RNC that Plouffe referred to in his fundraising solicitation is not so huge after all.”

      LOL….you been lied to! Again.

  • Dan

That’s just his flip flops, His connection with convicted felon Tony Rezko who is responsible for people living in terrible housing conditions in Obama’s southside district. Freezing in the winter, living with rats, mice and roaches, while Obama’s bragging about his work as a community organiser. Let’s not forget that beautiful house he bought because of Rezko’s help. All the while going to church and listening to his rev. Wright talk about how whites were responsible for AA faith, I wonder if Wright knew about those freezing people in Obama’s district.

  • Andrew

Senator Obama is a despicable man. He is leading an army of mindless bots to the precipice. Doesn’t anyone realize that he is lying? Doesn’t anyone realize that he is manipulating the media? Doesn’t anyone realize that he is bad? I don’t understand why the media has to glorify him with stories about his exercise routine. I don’t care. I only care that Obama doesn’t become president. He has created a cult and to that end I am going to study abroad if Obama becomes president because I don’t want to have to see the destruction. Maybe I’ll go to Australia or Japan, I don’t know, but I can’t stay here and watch the cultist destroy the country that I love with his treacherous deceit.

  • Andrew

I am furious over this asinine coverage of Obama and his retinue of crazies. He is an evil man that prostitutes himself for a job he is woefully unqualified to perform. The presidency will mean nothing if Obama is elected because his presidency would signal the collapse of our system’s credibility. If we allow junior senators with no experience and shady histories to become president, we better just pack up our bags and hit the road. There is no saving a country that values lofty rhetoric over substantive discourse, media-driven celebrity over earned honor. It looks like Rome all over again. We have freed the world, touched the stars and I fear that Obama is signaling the end of this Golden age and the beginning of the fall of America and Mankind.

LOL…the guy who said he wanted to increase NATO troops in Afghanistan in 2006 is copying Obama?

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/12/16/AR2006121600309.html

Instead of bombs McCain even suggests diplomacy for Afghanistan and Pakistan while he was there.

    From the article…

“The presidents of Afghanistan and Pakistan have exchanged bitter words in recent months, blaming one another for the continuing threat from the Taliban and al Qaida.

McCain urged the two leaders to put aside their differences.

“They are fighting a common enemy alongside NATO and the United States,” he said. “The level of rhetoric needs to be lowered and the level of cooperation needs to be dramatically increased.”

McCain arrived in Kabul on Friday with three other Republican legislators. One of them, Rep. Mark Kirk of Illinois, said that while there was much debate over how to proceed in Iraq, there was no question about continuing support for the Afghan government.

While in Afghanistan, the lawmakers inspected military-led reconstruction efforts in rural areas and visited a training center for the Afghan army. They left Saturday afternoon to meet with officials in Pakistan.”

  • Karma

    Also from the article…

“McCain told reporters at a U.S. base in Kabul, the Afghan capital, that the U.S. would commit more troops to Afghanistan if needed. “But the focus here is more on training the Afghan National Army and the police, as opposed to the increased U.S. troop presence,” he said.”
