First lady Michelle Obama had been a little more forthcoming earlier in the day when she described the trick to pulling off the event as sort of like being a swan: calm and serene above the water but “paddling like mad, going crazy underneath.”

The 338-person guest list was a mix of Washington insiders, Hollywood A-listers, prominent figures from the Indian community in the U.S., and Obama friends, family and campaign donors

Dinner guests were treated to an eye-catching scheme of green and purple, from the green curry surrounding the prawns to the purple floral arrangements paying homage to the peacock, India’s national bird.

I can’t wait to post pictures of BO giving us his version of the US national bird.

“After eight years, some of those years in which we did not have, I think, either the resources or the strategy to get the job done, it is my intention to finish the job,” he said, at a press conference with the Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh.

Has anyone noticed the supermarket tabloids over the years have changed in the following way: it used to be the cover stories were obviously whacked out, such as “The President of the US has extraterrestrial half-twin sister!” Now, the stories are more tame, and sometimes on their face even being plausible and believable.

Recently, one of the tabloid cover stories about the president claims he has lung cancer. Could it be he actually does have cancer, but his PR spin team got the story published so if the truth leaked they could contain it? I think its entirely possible.

I think a careful examination of tabloid stories could reveal a pattern of truths and half-truths being published of actual real events. Misinformation and disinformation can be used to conceal the truth in plain sight. The best place to conceal it many times.
