Tuesday A.M. Update: The new comments feature is temporarily turned off while the lead programmer figures out how to convert the gazillion comments we have in our archives. As they always say, stay tuned! (Tuesday 11:15 a.m. Update: The programmer has found the solution to converting our — get this — over 600,000 comments. At some point today, the new feature will be installed. One of our writers will let you all know if the blog or comments is temporarily disabled. Tuesday 4:15 p.m. Update: It will be a few days while the programming is completed to accommodate our vast cache of comments. You’ll be notified when that happens.)

Last night’s post: We will be up and down temporarily for the next hour or so. Probably less. I will let you all know. Thanks! You will LOVE what we’re doing to improve the COMMENTS section!!!

UPDATE: Do not fear. ALL comments in the rest of the threads will be restored in short order.

Now I’m going to read your comments here. We’re really excited. I will do a post tomorrow about the new features. You’ll be able to embed videos (!), images, etc.

    It is in LIVE mode.. so you don’t need to refresh. The comments sections will auto refresh. Also, if someone talks about this post on Facebook or Twitter, their comments will automatically show up on this page. You can also sign up and receive updates via email as people leave comments. You can also click on the username and see all their comments, even if they left them on other websites that use the same commenting system.

    I’ve just spent the last day and a half cleaning my computer from a virus I picked up at Facebook. I also decided to download a new browser a few hours ago. When I posted my first comment here using my new browser, THIS HAPPENED!! I THOUGHT I BROKE YOUR WEBSITE! It was like turning on a lamp in your house the same instant there’s a statewide power outage. Phew!

    Finally, climategate is gaining steam. Just the word climategate being coined is a good start… but this is growing legs at least in the foreign press. I think this is the way for the foreseeable future… the foreign press and the Internet media is going to have to be our protectors. The world’s protectors.

      Now I like geothermal energy. I am all for it and think it is underused right now. That being said… Al Gore likes it too, but hasn’t the first clue about the Earth’s geology apparently. He is on the Tonight Show saying that two kilometers deep, the Earth is a couple million degrees hot. Think about that as a non scientist… two kilometers isn’t so deep… a couple of million degrees? Like two kilometers of dirt and rock could insulate us from that heat… Besides that a couple million degrees is more of a sun temperature. But he has Nobel Prize and we don’t. Here is a video of the wise one. Thank our lucky stars for Florida and the quirky way they count votes. It could have apparently been much worse for us.
