BLOGGER DEATH PENALTY PROPOSED
The European Union criticized Iran today for a spate of executions and plans to extend the scope of the death penalty, a day before it leads international talks on Tehran’s disputed nuclear program.

The 27-nation bloc, which frequently issues such condemnations on the eve of meetings with Iranian officials, voiced concern over reports that 10 Iranians were publicly executed last week alone.

It also signaled worries about a parliamentary bill which it said would extend the range of offenses carrying the death penalty to include the creation of websites deemed to disturb the ‘psychological security of society’.

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana is due to meet chief Iranian nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili in Geneva on Saturday for talks aimed at clarifying Iran’s reply to an international offer of trade, technical and other incentives if it suspends uranium enrichment.

Solana will be accompanied by officials from six major powers – United States, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany.

In a significant policy shift, Washington will be sending a senior envoy for the first time.

While Iranian officials have ruled out any suspension of enrichment before the meeting, European diplomats believe they have seen signs from Tehran that it is keen to resolve the stand-off

That’s slightly inaccurate. Not all of the web sites are urging Dems to vote for McCain with the sole purpose of electing Hillary in 2012. They never seem to understand the fundamental purpose of these groups: to protest Barack Obama and the undemocratic and manipulative primary process that produced an illegitimate nominee that was selected by party leaders, not elected by the people.

Some people will vote McCain. Some will write in Hillary or a third-party. Some will stay home. Putting it like that makes it seem, again, like we are only Hillary-obsessed sore losers, willing to abandon all rational thought and vote McCain. Some people think McCain is genuinely a better choice, while for others, it is a protest vote to ensure that BO is not president.

I wish the PUMA spokespeople would be more specific and emphatic (at every opportunity) about the basic democratic protest of the movement. That theme will resonate with Americans, rather than any particular position one group or person is taking.

I remember at the start of this campaign Obama was talking about foreign policy, he said he was better on foreign policy than everyone else because he had actually lived overseas. Sounds very lame, it was from age 6 to 10, But that’s not the point. Last week Obama did a interview with Fareed Zakaria and Fareed asked Obama what he remembered most about living in Indonesia. Obama said it was when his Mother told him that She had married a man from Indonesia and that we were moving there. I’m sure being told that just rocked Barry’s world, probably had him in a state of shock for the first year.

The decision to just “give” Obama delegates from MI when he voluntarily took his name off of the ballot, so as to curry favor with Iowans.

The fact that Obama and his supporters have told us to just “get over it” and fall in line.

The fact that Dean and Brazile have even contemplated not having a roll call of the states and not putting Clinton’s name into nomination at the Convention.

If the congressional districts alone were fairly reflected, Clinton would win. I told him about the growing PUMA movement, and he dismissed it as “a bunch of 65 year old ladies”. When Paul Krugman wrote about Bush as a candidate, his editors strictly forbid him from using the word “lie. Then we know what happened to journalism during the Iraq war. Will Kristov put out that taped interview, btw? I’m curious what he thinks is so potentially damaging, because Obama has made no secret of knowing the call to prayer in Arabic and finding it “the most beautiful sound in the world.”

The other networks and bought news outlets will keep trying to depress election day turnout by hyping the Obama phenomenon. I think these next few weeks will be good for McCain. Expect more states to flip.

Every interview I have seen, they have been clear on that, and it is the number one question. Some groups have already met with McCain and like him. Others are undecided. The guests on these shows always say they can’t speak for everyone; it’s a personal decision, but they are speaking for themselves.

That interview with Fareed Zakaria was great. Obama was called on the flimsiness of his Iraq war plan. He would continue to rely on Blackwater and other mercs. Most interestingly was how Obama spoke of his mother announcing she’d remarried, they were moving, as if he were captive to her whims. And he was. Obama didn’t go see his mother as she was dying. But I don’t know what that’s got to do with foreign policy.

PUMA is not just about Hillary, it is about process. This is why it has such appeal. It states the truth.

The arrogance of the DNC (and its messiah) is breathtaking in its utter contempt for the people they supposedly represent. The Dem party has definitely devolved into an unrecognizable organization. And we say the GOP is fascist? Things are getting scary!
