The Worm Turns * Open Thread

Larry Johnson sent me these cartoons, via friends of the blog, with the remark that it is notable that when the cartoonists are all going after you, it’s evident that reality has supplanted the romantic wishful thinking that kept so many 2008 voters from using their brains before they voted. By the way, I cannot forgive those voters. Even though our voices of concern were drowned out by the media-aided Obama campaign juggernaut, it is the responsibility of voters to carefully vet each candidate. Instead, the voters actually believed that speeches matter and that promises are for real. Give me a break.

And one more — there are more where these came from and we’ll get them up asap.

    Amen. They were bamboozled.

    • SuperGalt

Since the electorate is easily manipulable, its hyper critical the fourth estate returns to reporting FACTS, sans the spin.

SG, I am afraid even people who oppose BO are not ‘getting it.’ Today, the owner of another blog, who presumes BO is not a NBC and, therefore, was unlawfully elected by both the Electoral College and Congress (neither of which body has a Constitutional obligation to vet the candidate for POTUS for Constitutional eligibility) accused me of “looking for hairs to split” by exploring existing laws as the means to redress grievances of how BO was elected; or pointing out the flaws in the legal cases brought thus far; or even explaining protocols for statutory interpretation, which would negate her claims as to what the Constitution means. She said, “In fact I think this ridiculous arguing and legal splitting hairs has in fact contributed to the on-going usurpation.” (All mistakes appear in her original comment.) Another commenter (who also posts on NQ) lashed into me. “I’ve always found jbjd’s approach to this question troubling. It’s a circular debating style that seems to serve no genuine purpose other than to challenge us to think.” See, SG, now even challenging others “to think” is suspect.

I am banned from one site because I am a “Birther,” and moderated on another site (as of today) because I continue to insist, until the federal court rules, one definition of NBC is as good as another. Curiously, these detractors have failed to poke holes in the work and, indeed, have credited my insights in the past, notwithstanding they now discount everything I have done because they do not like my “attitude.”

        • TeakWoodKite

How did you end up being “xxxx-er” jbjd? LOL

I have found the points you , well reasoned and very well grounded.

          Attitude? :) bring it.

          • jbjd

I adopted that moniker. Actually, I explain in an article entitled “jbjd, Birther” posted on my blog, when and why I decided to embrace that title, which is applied to anyone who is skeptical of the public record of BO’s Constitutional eligibility for POTUS. TWK, thank you for appreciating the work, and for inviting the attitude. Regardless of how frustrated I am with the events surrounding the 2008 general election and its aftermath, I cannot advocate solutions based on a claim my position is morally superior to the millions of others who think differently. And, to put it bluntly, that really pisses people off.

            • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

Actually, taking the indirect approach by looking at the cover-up has more merit than demanding Obama prove he’s NBC head-on. Hence, going for the house of cards causes more holes and leaks to develop that can at least throw light on the questionable acts of certifying Obama as eligible.

I knew that someday all that hot air was going to mess with our atmosphere. Here it is. It has just been discovered.

    The Bozone Layer.
Bozone ( n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future around anyone in government.

Some experts in hot air and the propagation constant amplified by paid punderers are not overly concerned because the government is thinking about putting together a plan to start considering assembling a Czar-studded task force to study the problem of planning a bozone research stimulus package to deliberate on the issue of how to spell bozone.

    Great toons.

Great cartoons IF anyone feels like laughing!
I blame the voters also, and they deserve what’s coming at them. Too bad, we all pay the price for their indulgence in la-la land!
The report from the Federal Reserve about unemployment for five to six years out leaves me dreading the road ahead.

The report from the Federal Reserve about unemployment for five to six years out

Well, I think the plan is that Americans standing in food lines are more malleable than well fed Americans. None of this just “happened”. “Inheriting a mess” is going to be a well worn out phrase before long. Not that the message won’t be used over and over and over again. It’s already old and we haven’t even had the borders opened up to the illegals yet. Just wait. But what did we expect? The most successful, and most prosperous nation on the planet just voted for “change” without qualifying it at all. How dumb is that?

  • http://deleted BuzzisbackLatte

Great cartoons. My how things have changed in the last couple of months. There’s too many citizens unhappy with Obama in the country for the obots to control! Let the political cartoons continue!

  • Peggy Sue

This gallows’ humor is about the only thing keeping people sane at this point. And these toons are really good. Love the golf one. The national debt one should have most readers wincing and the healthcare/economy toon is right on the mark.

The tide has definitely turned on the koolaide addicts because there comes a point when the excuses run out and they just look and sound silly and/or dangerous.

    We’re there!

    Lobbyists pushed off advisory panels
White House initiative to limit influence could affect thousands

“Some folks have developed a comfortable Beltway perch sitting on these boards while at the same time working as lobbyists to influence the government,” said White House ethics counsel Norm Eisen, who disclosed the policy in a September blog posting on the White House Web site.

“That is just the kind of special interest access that the president objects to.” The initiative is aimed at a system of advisory committees so vast that federal officials don’t have exact numbers for its size; the most recent estimates tally nearly 1,000 panels with total membership exceeding 60,000 people.

A Washington that is More Reflective of All of America

Just how are these “replacements” selected? Or is this just another example of “Pay to Play” in the guise of getting lobbyest of BO’s back?

    • Silence Dogood

Based in behavior we’ve observed in the past, your theory seems logical.

      • TeakWoodKite

Color me a suspisous type, but it reminds me of the US Attorney scandle. I wonder after of the 60,000 people on these policy boards who gets the nod? I will tying my string to this one for a while. I got some memos to read yet.

  • bayareavoter

Great toons. I won’t forgive the voters either. I’m still fighting mad about having this jerk in the WH.

Why are people surprised? I remind myself that this is the same MSM that devoted pages and pages to Gore’s sighing in the debates instead of dissecting Bush Jr’s stupid answers; that brought us the Iraq war and weapons of mass destruction; that turned Kerry from a war hero into a girlie man; and swooned at the feet of a total novice.

I loved the cartoons remember when anything like this would have been considered a form of treason to mock.

Also the pay to play, that’s why I didn’t really blame Blago any more than the rest of Illinois.its part of the Rahm, axlerod, madison, name all the ex goveners and then theres the way OB got in his all his political jobs. Do you think thats why the prosecutor is dragging out the investigation? they are all getting the pay to play one way or another but its in our face and it is okay? Of course Blago being a big player in this could be dangerous, because he really could blow this away. I even heard on the tv that most of the guests were people from Chicago, that they wanted to bring them all in. Suppose there is a guest list somewhere?

Speaking of guest lists, if these party crashers were anyone else ,wouldn’t they be getting charged with a serious crime and being interrogated somewhere? Personally ,I think like everything else
i think there is a back story that OB and crew are not telling us ,kinda like don’t make judgements about the fort hood shooter?

YES,I do not trust there to be any truth because we have been lied to so many times, from Bush and especially now that we finally got a “dem” president.
