And yet if a good looking well speaking politician says something that if we think about it sounds too good to be true, we end up believing the promise anyway and vote for that person. What does that say about us?

In the case of the present squatter in the Oval Office, the will of the people was subverted. The will of the people had it right except the the fact when the rightful nominee was robbed in the process. Yes, we know there are differences of opinion on the matter.

As to "What does that say about us?": Many of us found out early on, there was nothing but an empty suit with in our view an unholy agenda (Obama), and we tried to warn everyone else, screaming at the top of our lungs.

"Us" as a general species-wise pattern of most people, sure. "Us" as many on this blog, hell no! My conscience is clear. I tried.

Very interesting article. You forgot to add that the fixes in the pictures would end up costing more than if it was done correctly in the first place because the work would be done with no-bid contracts, no inspection of work performed before payment is made, and it would be justified as creating jobs and helping either an industry or community.

When will people learn that there is no such thing as a free lunch? Communism tried to make is look like everyone should be the same and everyone should be entitled to everything, and look how well that worked. When we say anything should be free, like school or education, what does that mean? The utility will be provided for free, the teachers or professors work for free? All union employees will work for free? All administrators will work for free? The food will be provided for free? And which one of you would be willing to spend your life working for free to make this happen?

It is interesting to me that so many people know the saying “that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” And yet if a good looking well speaking politician says something that if we think about it sounds too good to be true, we end up believing the promise anyway and vote for that person. What does that say about us?

Love the pics, Pat. How painfully true. Numbers 2 & 5 are perfect images and despite what Obamatrons say and/or post here, there is a growing sense of unease and dissatisfaction.

We all knew the tipping point was coming and that the Big Lie had a limited shelf life. After 8 years of nonsense, this 9th year is wearing very thin.

I scanned the Far Left blogs last night. The inevitable howl has begun. For the Far Left, Afghanistan may be the last straw. Even Michael Moore has registered his complaint.

The New Year should prove very interesting!

Very funny! In a sick sort of way. Got a lot of laughs while really feeling the pinch. Great accompanying text. We are all in a very precarious position on the eve of escalating the war in Afghanistan and the pending passage of a bill that nobody can quite figure out.

Re #6: That's not protection. That's a guy transporting two recently-bought new tires home.

I'll give a nod to the innovators in these pics. Hey...you gotta use what you have. It's like the game played in management seminars. They form however many small groups (four or so each) to generate how many uses the groups can come with to use a paper clip.

#3 gives new meaning to the term "battery clamp." But the handle is dangerously close to the other battery terminal, risking a short and God-knows what kind of sparks. Maybe the clamp will melt down.

Laid up with a leg problem and have trouble lifting a leg to get in bed? Put a loop in one end of a necktie (I loop the fat end), slip the loop under the foot of the injured leg, and lift the leg with your arms without using leg muscles. An occupational therapist taught me that trick. A belt would work, too.

What to do about the poop when you walk the dog? Use one of those wrappers/sleeves protecting your newspaper and stick your hand/arm in it. Pick up the poop, then turn the sleeve inside out to put the poop inside. Wrap it up and put it in the park trash receptacle. That one comes from my ex-wife. (I use the newspaper sleeves to throw away my coffee grounds.)

Invention is the mother of necessity.

LOL! A couple of those pix reminded me of me! I *ahem* broke the window to my sunroof trying to close it during a storm and had to use my umbrella.
I loved your appropriate captions, Pat! Such a great sense of humor, which is seriously needed to keep sane under this administration.
