THE TITLE BOUT

Don Fowler, the former head of the DNC sent a letter to Democratic leaders and major contributors this week urging party unity.

Intended to get resistant Hillary supporters on board, the unity letter is likely to produce the opposite effect.  The letter repeatedly stated, “Barack Obama won. It’s over!”   In other words, “Get over it,” or as an astute Clinton supporter put it, “Get in line, it’s not your time.”   Mr. Fowler chided Hillary supporters, “I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with the people who continue to carp, complain and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support.”

The paternalistic nature of this statement and the implication that the issues raised by Hillary supporters are trivial is troubling.  “It’s time to act in a mature fashion,” Fowler implored.

Demographics will prove that if Hillary supporters are anything, they are mature.  Maybe there is wisdom in old age since they did not select Obama.

To illustrate that Clinton supporters are sore losers, Fowler compared the Democratic Primary to men’s basketball and men’s tennis.  Attempting to appeal to the broadest base of Hillary’s supporters, women, by comparing the primary to men’s sports illustrates a continuing insensitivity to women and women’s issues by the DNC.  In fact the DNC, the party of the people, has never had a female chair.

If sports were the metaphor of choice, the Democratic Primary is more like boxing than tennis or basketball.  One could equate the primary to the World Heavyweight Boxing Championship.  The two fighters in the ring, Senator’s Clinton and Obama, went the distance, 15 rounds, or in this case 52 primaries, but neither candidate scored a knockout blow.

The fight will be decided by decision. The judges in this fight are the superdelegates and they will announce their decision at the Democratic Convention. There is one caveat however. These superdelegates are not impartial and both a carrot and a stick have been used to get them to declare for Obama.

Many superdelegates have had large sums of money donated to their campaigns by Barack Obama under the guise of the Hope Fund or the Hope Pac.  Others have received warnings that the DNC will not support their next campaign if they do not support Obama and still others have had death threats from the African American community.

The referee in this title bout, the person entrusted by the people to ensure a fair fight is Howard Dean, Chairman of the DNC.

Dean stood silently by as Dodd, Kennedy and Kerry called for Clinton to throw in the towel early in the contest.  He was mute when the main stream media called Hillary a bitch or said she should be taken out behind the barn.

Dean did not enforce with the full authority of his office to ensure a fair shot at the title for both candidates.  Dean turned his back on the fight while Obama threw numerous sucker punches in the early rounds of the bout.

Obama won 93% (13 out of 14) of the caucuses and only 46% (18 out of 39) of the primaries.  It is impossible to explain the disparity in primary vs. caucus results due to superior organization or demographics alone.

Dean and the DNC turned a blind eye to the fraud, busing and data manipulation by Camp Obama at the caucuses.  Not only did Dean not investigate voter fraud, suppression and intimidation, he further engineered Obama’s nomination by giving the Florida delegates, a state where Clinton had a commanding lead, half a vote each.  In Michigan Dean orchestrated the decision that gave Obama delegates for punches Clinton landed and gave Obama credit for votes logged as undecided.  When Clinton Camp tried to raise some of these concerns they were labeled whiners.

The bout is not over until the judges officially announce their scoring of the fight in Denver in August. The DNC wants to deny Hillary’s name being put in nomination and to prohibit a state roll call that reflected the results of the primary.  The DNC wants t he judges, in this case the state delegations and the superdelegates, to declare that all votes went to Obama.  But there was no knock out blow.

In fact, based on the results in the swing states, the primary states, the blue states, the largest states, and by winning the popular vote, Hillary Clinton won the fight by decision.  The referee can hold Senator Obama’s arm up in the center of the ring, but everyone watching the primary knows who won.  If a football game is decided by an unfair penalty, a soccer game lost by an undeserved red card, a title match lost by a sucker punch, fans typically become embittered and resentful.

Senator Clinton was the first significant female candidate to run for the presidency and her nomination was stolen by a corrupt party.  No letter chiding Clinton’s supporters is going to change that.  Red Sox fans will never become Yankee fans, and Clinton supporters are not coming home.

Also, when the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl, nobody started screaming that Patriots fans now had to “be mature” and throw their full support behind the Giants. Nobody told the Patriots to drop out of football and help the Giants win another Super Bowl. Nobody even told them to “get over it.”

DNC, your analogy: epic fail. Ditto your patronizing tone.

“It’s time to act in a mature fashion,”

    Hello Kettle.

  • Disgusted

That about sums it up. Thanks Dr Long.

  • james andrews

This has become more important than just Hillary. This is about the future of our party. If and election can be stolen America and all we stand for is in peril. I will not vote for Obama, that is my pledge. I will do all I can to have Hillary nominated and to rebuild the party into the one I joined 25 years ago.

Yes, my fatigue and irritation will display itself in the voting both when I vote for the “mature” candidate.

Good Post….Funny how chiding tends to make recalcitrance habitual…chuckle…

The DNC and its lackeys must really be hurting over the lack of financial support for their candidate for them to issue out a pathetic plea like this. Well, they fully deserve what they got in anointing the Messiah. They know that their heads will roll once the GOP again captures the White House in November.

The most disturbing to me is how the so called democrats tv-talking head cannot defend the truth. There are all spin the lies in every possible way.

Watching Howard Wolfson on “media love affair” of Hannity and Colmes, he spin everything there was no single truth comming out of him. I wish they all stay away, that is one of the reasons the democrats are going to lose big, because they can not tell the truth. All the Americans need is the truth. Well,
Hannity said it best, “It did not take you long to switch, Howard?”

For us it is no longer about the party, it is about our country USA, it is not about making history, it is about USA, it is about having a presidential candidate that loves this country, one who has been loving this country before they thought of running for that great office. It is not about WORDS. It is about USA.

  • Pastor Manning

When ‘officials’ talk about party unity they do not mean the voter, they refer to themselves, the ruling class. Voters, volunteers and those who have dedicated a lifetime to support the party are just an inconvenience. A voter is something you have to seduce every few years and than get up wipe yourself, walk away and betray their trust.

I met Donnie Fowler on several occasions, thinking him to be an intelliegent and bright guy. So I get a bit irritated when I learn that he thinks it’s an effective strategy to chide those who have very legitimate gripes about the appalling way this primary went down. He and his DNC friends need to realize that the Democratic party is broken and THEY broke it!

    Great post Dr. Lynette.

Thanks, because whether or not Barack becomes the nominee, whether or not Barack becomes the president, the loser will be the Democratic Party, in the end.

Many of us will never come back, and will remain independent from now on. I cannot ever fully trust the Democratic Party ever again, after what I’ve witnessed. I have been completely alienated from Democrats, and no longer feel any need to defend the party from Republican attacks. I just shrug with apathy about it now.

I just don’t care which party wins anymore. Whoever is in the WH–since the best candidate was banned from competing by her own party–will not have my trust, because HE will be “the evil of two lessers.”

This is important from Will Bower! Spread the word!

A Most Important Call to PUMA Action: Let Hillary Know
    22-Jul-08

    PUMAs,

All roads are beginning to lead back to Hillary.

It is looking more and more like it is -she- who will ultimately have the power to allow her name to be placed into nomination.

Hillary is now reaching out to us, asking us what issues matter the most to each of us:

    http://www.hillpac.com/action/issues/?sc=2498&utm_source=2498&utm_medium=e

This is how -I- chose to respond:

“What is the issue that matters to -me- the most? That you, Hillary, be the 44th President of the United States… from 2009-2017. Please, Senator Clinton, allow your name to be placed into nomination… for the 18,000,000 of us who gave you our vote and our voice.

    Thank you, Respectfully, Will Bower”

It is now time that *every* PUMA voice be heard by Hillary. We must *all* reach out to her… with our heads, our hearts, and our experiences. She needs to know that we are here… and *why* we are here.

There will be many more Calls to Action in the days to come: Delegate Outreach. PUMA Gatherings Nationwide. The Pre-Convention PUMA Conference. All of these are -very- important… but all of them are secondary to letting Hillary know that we still want — and need — her to be our next President.

    http://www.hillpac.com/action/issues/?sc=2498&utm_source=2498&utm_medium=e

Thank you, PUMAs. We can do this. Hillary can do this.

    Let her know.

THE STRATAGEM THAT DARE NOT SPEAK ITS NAME!!!!

what are Kerry’s words exactly? Interesting that term should come up again. The last time it was used by a public figure when Romney referred to something in Massachusetts, the Big Dig, probably. There was such a PC outcry that the word could only be whispered among trusted friends. Now Kerry uses it. Wonder what made him think of it?

You’re right about the oboe. I’ve never played it but my wife was a Big Ten school music major. The book “Mozart in the Jungle” gave me insight on its difficulties.

  • basil

Actually, I kinda wish Waffles would take up the oboe.

All that carbon dioxide building up in his blood stream with no way for all that hot air to escape except maybe through his ears and he’d probably explode.

(For the non-musical, there’s a running joke that oboe players can’t get life insurance coz of the strain playing puts on the heart.)

    hehehehe

  • Hillarity Ensues

    I do have to admit…

I am a bit jealous of Will Bower. He’s apparently seized on a wonderful scam.

Seems the Clinton campaign claims they haven’t received the funds Bower and the PUMAs claim to have raised.

Speaking of sports, the media have a new “polarizing figure” to talk about. This article falls right in line with the sexism of the mainstream media today. Tennis star Kournakova is described as “the girl people love to hate”.

Wasn’t Hillary exactly the same thing? Don’t we in the U.S. make a kind of sport of hurling insults at women? Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Leona Helmsly, Tammy-Fae, and the list goes on. Be a woman, and put yourself out there in public, and this is what you get. I believe Clarence Thomas would say that the treatment of women, here in the West, is “nothing more than high tech stoning.”

This piece was written by a McCain adviser, so it is likely to have a slant, but I think he may have pegged Maliki:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/22/AR2008072202550.html?hpid=opinionsbox1

Keep in mind also that Maliki has no military experience and that he has been trapped in the Green Zone, relatively isolated from day-to-day life. For these reasons, he has been a consistent font of misguided predictions about how quickly U.S. forces could leave.
In May 2006, shortly after becoming prime minister, he claimed, “Our forces are capable of taking over the security in all Iraqi provinces within a year and a half.”
In October 2006, when violence was spinning out of control, Maliki declared that it would be “only a matter of months” before his security forces could “take over the security portfolio entirely and keep some multinational forces only in a supporting role.”
President Bush wisely ignored Maliki. Instead of withdrawing U.S. troops, he sent more. The prime minister wasn’t happy. On Dec. 15, 2006, the Wall Street Journal reported, “Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has flatly told Gen. George Casey, the top American military commander in Iraq, that he doesn’t want more U.S. personnel deployed to the country, according to U.S. military officials.” When the surge went ahead anyway, Maliki gave it an endorsement described in news accounts as “lukewarm.”
In January 2007, with the surge just starting, Maliki predicted “that within three to six months our need for the American troops will dramatically go down.” In April 2007, when most of Baghdad was still out of control, the prime minister said that Iraqi forces would assume control of security in every province by the end of the year.

Note: even op-eds from politicos are examined for factual errors by the Post op-ed staff before publication, so these points about Maliki are likely correct.

But he sums up what happened and why the break with the Party will never heal, so well. The lack of diversity IMO at the DNC is and what caused this failed strategy to be adopted the belief that they could use some dog whistle to rally women through grievance, abuse, guilt, shame, the good of the family and fear screams bias and how dumb they are with no clue who their Base was nor did they care. My suggestion put women working class white women to work at the DNC for 12 before the break is not just a swing segment but a permanent rejection of the Party which is coming if they don’t get control of this ignorant bigotry you want to rant about old guard here you have it and add Pelosi to that mix with her just as silly rant.

My suggestion put some women working class white women to work at the DNC and on the fake rules committee, by the way the largest demographic in the 04 Dem electorate I might add, before 2012 and before the break is not just a swing political sect, but jells as a permanent rejection of the Party which is coming if they don’t get control of this ignorant bigotry, this and the MSM male media are the REAL old guard here and add Pelosi obviously out of touch to that mix with her just as silly elitists rants.

The Washington Post is too gentle; Barack’s plan sounds downright dangerous. A fatal policy error is not merely “eccentric.” As the WP elaborates:

“Yet Mr. Obama’s account of his strategic vision remains eccentric. He insists that Afghanistan is “the central front” for the United States, along with the border areas of Pakistan. But there are no known al-Qaeda bases in Afghanistan, and any additional U.S. forces sent there would not be able to operate in the Pakistani territories where Osama bin Laden is headquartered. While the United States has an interest in preventing the resurgence of the Afghan Taliban, the country’s strategic importance pales beside that of Iraq, which lies at the geopolitical center of the Middle East and contains some of the world’s largest oil reserves. If Mr. Obama’s antiwar stance has blinded him to those realities, that could prove far more debilitating to him as president than any particular timetable.”

PUMA is not collecting money for Hillary. Donatios are made directly to Hillary Clintons web site.

As far as the PUMA donations falling short, maybe you should check the July Fundraising numbers instead of the June numbers. The PUMA effort was in JULY not June.

“within that week leading up to the Fourth of July we raised approximately $10 million”

“According to the FEC, Clinton only raised $2.7 million in June”

Since the PUMA contributons were donated in July, maybe, just maybe, you should be checking the July contributions not the June contributions.

Check back with us when Hillary’s July fundraising numbers are released. That should be sometime in August.

In the mean time, thank you for demonstrating your stupidity.

The morons in the DNC continue to amaze me. He is confused by my support being conditional? Hey asshole! My support has always been conditional. Yes, I’ve always voted Dem because I believed the party best represented my interests, as well as social justice, the 4th amendment and women’s rights. Now that I know that is not the case, as this criminal primary has exposed, then you don’t have my support. Get over it!

  • yttik

Thanks for the post, Dr. Lynette. I read your blog and appreciate your words.

This part kind of sums up my problems with Obama, Fowler complains about people who would “lay down conditions for their support.” Uhm, h-e-l-l-o, elected officials, they work for us. Their very existance is conditional based on our support. The DNC, the media, everybody seems to want to shove Obama down our throats, and we’re all supposed to unconditionally accept him. With no accountability or expectations.

We’re supposed to ask nothing of Obama, because “change comes from the bottem up” but he’s running for the highest office in the land, so don’t bother him. He plans to be on the top and people at the top don’t make change. “We are the ones we have been waiting for”, so you people are on your own, Obama’s busy with trying to be president. He doesn’t have time to lead. He won’t be getting his hands dirty. You all are the ones you’ve been waiting for, I’m busy trying to eat my waffles.

Obama, the DNC, the media, half the country is confused. Obama works for us. He serves at the pleasure of the people. Or not I hope. This new attitude they’re trying to force on us is all wrong.

  • researchguy66

Has anyone else noticed that they don’t thnk they need moderate Dems to push Obama over the top? It seems like they’d like to have the money and they’d like a bigger cushion, but they’re absolutely convinced that we’re not necessary for an Obama win.

That overconfidence to me is a very good sign. When they’re overconfident, they’ll trip all over themselves. I’ll certainly be welcoming Hillary’s “I told you so” tour in February 2008.

Good heavens. Yet ANOTHER nasty Obama adviser revealed. This time it’s Cass Sunstein. I remember reading a lot of Sunstein years ago when I was writing about constitutional issues and always thought he had interesting, if somewhat controversial, positions. I haven’t kept up with him recently and had NO IDEA he fully supported Dubya’s worst crimes. And this dude is one of Obama’s advisors!! I’ll quote from BTD, ever trenchant in his analysis of such matters:

Sunstein now wishes us all to forget that he fully supported the Bush Administration’s lawlessness. He clearly wants to play a role in a potential Obama Administration. I do object to that possibility. Sunstein has supported the most extreme views of Executive power argued by the Bush Administration. Almost as bad, he has been mendacious about his previous positions, painting himself as in the mainstream of progressive legal thought when he clearly is in the camp of the extreme conservative views on executive power. If Obama wants a Sunstein in his Administration, let’s be clear about what we are getting – not some progressive legal thinker on Executive Power, but someone who hold the most extreme views on the subject, views rejected by the Supreme Court of the United States.

This is the letter I sent to them.

It’s really tiring on our part to keep talking to what appears to be brick walls. You all wouldn’t be making false accusations and using talking points that don’t fit with the ongoing discussion.

I really don’t know where to begin with your latest comments,

” It is time for all Democrats, supporters of Senator Clinton and all other contenders for the nomination, to stand with him to secure his election and the election of Democrats at all levels of competition.

I must confess a bit of fatigue and irritation with people who continue to carp, complain, and criticize the results of the primary and lay down conditions for their support. The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t establish conditions to recognize the Boston Celtics as NBA Champions; Roger Federer did not demand concessions before recognizing that Rafael Nadal defeated him at Wimbledon.

It is time to act in a mature and resourceful fashion.”

I can appreciate that those who were pushing Obama wish the rest of us to fall in line, but it doesn’t quite work that way. I’m not a sheep and my vote does need to be earned, whether you like it or not.

And while discussing fatigue and irritation, woa, you should try being on our end. Especially when I remember watching YOU (a Hillary supporter?) vote to break rules and award delegates to a candidate who wasn’t even on the ballot in Michigan and WRONGLY taking them FROM Senator Clinton. The complaining I see coming from you all seem misplaced. And if I remember correctly, it was key members of the DNC that claimed they no longer needed the base of the party, women, working class, ALL minorities and seniors, that you are “the NEW Democratic Party”, so what is all this complaining about?

And, apparently you’re still confused, because we are not complaining about the primary votes. No, we’re proud of Hillary’s 18 million votes, we’re complaining about the bias to do all possible to influence the nomination process and breaking rules to also reflect the biased outcome. setting precedence in breaking rules and operations, and all this for the least experienced, baggage laden candidate that will cost the Democrats and our country.

Your analogies with the sports metaphors are all wrong, as I suspect you are fully aware by now. They earned their points to give them the win and worked within the rules and guidelines. OOPS!

And one final note, even if the DNC tried to reverse their conduct, bias, breaking rules, strong arm tactics, and Hillary is on the Roll Call and Obama still managed to come out of the Convention as the nominee, we still have the choice of not voting for his inexperienced, marketed, bought and created and elitist candidacy.

You all have made your beds, you must lay in them. I choose country first, unlike what I see from you all. And that is also why I chose for the first time in my voting life (aprox 3 decades) to leave the Democratic Party. I AM a REAL Democrat, but as made clear, the NEW Democratic Party is that of stifling freedom of speech, breaking rules and the Constitution and breaking her founding principles-that I want no part of.

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to voice my displeasure to the NEW Democratic Party.

Letter I sent to Don Fowler last week (didn’t bother with Alice Germond)

    Dear Mr. Fowler,

My name is ——. I’ve been a democrat since 1977. I am what’s known (in New York at least) as a triple prime voter, in that I vote in generals, primaries, special AND school board elections. I volunteered for the party a lot when I was young and single. I organized the Hudson Group in New York under the direction of Betsy Blumenthal and Paul Kirk and helped raise quite a bit of money. I’m just telling you this to show you I am in fact a loyal democrat.

I am not loyal to the current leadership of our party, and I will not vote for Barack Obama. To do so is to say it’s OK that Senator Clinton and President Clinton were maligned the way they were. Obama’s supporters at caucuses, rallies and on the Internet were more obnoxious than any republican I’ve ever encountered. I mean that. They were worse than I’ve ever encountered from the Republicans, and I’ve worked against Al D’Amato among others so that’s saying a lot.

I copied below a response to your e mail today on the TALKING POINTS MEMO web site. It is, sadly, very typical of the kind of abuse those who question Obama’s experience and qualifications are subject to. Again, this is not an extreme example, it’s typical. Women like me who gave our best years to this party during difficult times, when the only victory we had was Bill Clinton’s, are now told we’re old, fat and “menopausal”. President Bill Clinton, whom I revere, is now a racist – and part of the Bush/Clinton Era…because these arrogant young people don’t know the difference between the two.

I know the difference, Mr. Fowler, and I cherish those memories from when we elected, then reelected, Bill Clinton, and life was so good in this Country. I got married, bought a house, had a baby and turned my attention to life beyond politics for a while.

It’s disheartening to find today that I am only in my 40′s but I’m irrelevant to this party, and subject to a scolding letter from you and Alice Germond. Ms. Germond should know I marched for Abortion Rights in DC in 1989, so I don’t need 24 year old boys lecturing me about “choice” and the dire consequences of not falling in line.” Better than the Republican” is not good enough for me any more. And the Republican Party isn’t threatening, scolding and mocking me as Barack Obama’s new and improved DNC feels compelled to do.

Barack Obama is an under qualified media creation and I’m not voting for him. I’ve already been called a Republican so many times I own the insult, and expect I’ll be called a racist as well ( although, on a personal note, my husband is bi-racial like Obama…they even look alike ). Racial pride aside, my husband is not voting for Obama either. He had too many friends die in the World Trade Center tragedy to ever forgive giving $27,000 to a church who’s minister believes that day was nothing more than chickens coming home to roost.

Thank you for your service to our party and, by extension, this country. I hope we meet again someday when the spell is broken and life returns to normal.

    Sincerely,

    New York

    FROM TALKING POINTS MEMO

The problem is not on Obama’s side. The problem is the Hillary-wacks. They need to decide: Are they democrats or not? If so, stop the fucking whining. If not, get the fuck out of Dodge.

Obama needs to focus on McCain, not on the traitors behind him. We need a unified party, and if you are not willing to be part of the unified party, then GET YOUR ASS OUT OF HERE, and FAST! We are SERIOUSLY TIRED of WHINING HILLARY-WACKS.

Do you realize that you are the only group on people ion planet earth that thinks Hillary still has a chance at becoming the nominee?

Don’t for Obama! He doesn’t need your 25 collective votes. Since you’re republicans he never expected to get them anyway.

  • William L. Donlon

    Hillary won!! End of Story.
I WILL vote for McCain because I want to not only with hold my vote from Obama, I want to cost them an additional vote to nullify mine.

If all 18,000,000 “Red Sox” fans did the same it would cost the DNC 36,000 000 votes to break even.

There is no way they can win with out us and they will get slaughtered if we work against them.

We need to take the party back in 08 and position it for 2012.

We need to change the Party leadership and that means we must deal them a smashing defeat in November.

We also need to go after our enemies in the MSM like Keith and Mathews.

The All Male, Good Old Boy sexist Media needs to be attacked and changed for good, and it needs to be done before the Off year elections in 2010.

We know what needs to be done, let’s get to it.

    No retreat and no surrender!!!

    PUMA IN DENVER!

    PUMA IN NOVEMBER!

I’m Bill Donlon, I’m a PUMACRAT, and I wrote this message.

NObama — me thinks that the fatigue and irritation the party feels is because their nominee. He promised to help fund the Democratic Party and instead has become for all intents and purposes a Republican and has totally ignored the pleas from down ticket Democrats and doesn’t even return phone calls from Pelosi and Dean. This according to DC Dems who are totally frustrated with their arrogant nominee.

Mr. Fowler I would be irritated too if I were you. You’ve been had–we told you so. However, you would rather blame the messengers than the nominee from Hell. tsk tsk — Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

Where have you been Comrade Roger…Oh right, teaching recent US History that is factual is not indicative of the Obama Indoctrination Camps in either the US or Gaza….St. Reagan had no problem attracting intelligent Democrats disgusted by the Old Party’s refusal to seek treatment for collective Leadership Insanity that paralized the party and put forward yet another WINNER FOR POTUS….Ever heard of Reagan Democrats? • eurogirl70

Oh, you mean the evangelical pulpit that Obama is courting? You mean the Christian rallies starring Donnie McClurkin (of God cured me of my homosexuality?)

You mean the same Obama that wanted to vote in favor of John Roberts for Supreme Court Chief Justice but was “persuaded” to change his vote by those who told him that such a vote would hurt his presidential aspirations?

You mean the same Obama who was up on Capital Hill the night of the MoveOn.org condemnation vote but refused to vote at all? (Hillary voted against the condemnation measure)?

You mean the guy who just voted to give retro active immunity to the telecomms?

Yeah this is really a “Profile in Courage” moment.

I find your name-calling “audacious” considering that throughout this election cycle there was one sexist comment after another leveled against Senator Clinton and now all the guys who were calling us female supporters of Senator Clinton bitter, saggy, old harpies and “ho’s” are now concerned about our “reproductive” rights. We women who supported Senator Clinton are smart enough to:

    1. not get pregnant
    2. not have sex with an ass like you

You are just concerned about the move to the right by the court because the next time you bag yourself a slutty little female Obama supporter and knock her dumbass up, you will be saddled with child support.

    Have fun with your hand!

Why else would they force people into a party from which these same people were driven not more than a month ago? The Republicans will chew on the Democrats stupidity for years to come. Already the media is pointing out what a great Campaign Clinton ran. The D in Democratic Party is for Dumb

Senator Clinton was the first significant female candidate to run for the presidency and her nomination was stolen by a corrupt party.

One of Barack Obama’s strongest Congressional supporters may not even be a resident of the district he has represented in Congress. Robert Wexler, a Democrat, is being accused by his Republican opponent in an upcoming election of “playng a residency shell game”, saying Wexler pretends to keep an address in Florida while “flagrantly” making his home in Maryland. As a Florida “resident”, Wexler apparently pays no state income tax, while living with his family in Maryland, which does have a state income tax.

Fowler stated in the video that it would bother him if the superdelegates voted against the will of the people in their states. What, then, does he intend to do about it, since that exact scenario did occur in many states? Or is he like Pelosi, that scenario is okay ONLY when it benefits THEIR candidate, Obama??

when will the DNC and the Obama supporters ever figure out that Clinton supporters don’t NEED them. They NEED us. They have this all backwards. they expect us to kiss their a$$es when they should be kissing ours.

I have made my decision. I will vote for Obama if he names Clinton VP. There is nothing else that will change my mind.

You can’t threaten me with the evil of McCain or the importance of the Supreme Court. Should have thought of that before you ran the primary the way you did.

Obama is being given the nomination for one and only one reason. His false charges of racism made against the Clintons.

Obama won 93% (13 out of 14) of the caucuses and only 46% (18 out of 39) of the primaries. It is impossible to explain the disparity in primary vs. caucus results due to superior organization or demographics alone.

    Therein lies the rub!

Red Sox fans will never become Yankee fans, and Clinton supporters are not coming home.

You can sure take that to the bank!

Your overall boxing analogy is by far superior.

Maturity requires seeing reality as it is. I would say that applies to PUMAs rather than the hyper-emotional graspers at the hem of “faux-messiah”.

The frenzy surrounding Obama reminds me of that scene from Tommy where the Marilyn Monroe statue is wheeled into the church and the idolatry begins in full force. And you call that mature? Believe me, BO is no Tommy who was the real thing. And he’s no JFK either — just another Marilyn stand in.

Maybe you weren’t born before 2000. I know a LOT of democrats who said they would have voted for McCain. Over Al Gore.

At least we know the people of Arizona like him enough to relect him for decades. We don’t even know yet if Obama could get elected to a 2nd term Senate seat without tricks.

This is a little something called country before party. It’s a good, you should try to feel that way sometime. If you actually accept what has happened in this election, then YOU my friend are the republican. You remember the old glory days of 2000 don’t you? Having a little deja vu? Telling us to get over it again.

Own your own thoughts. It feels good and empowering.

  • JML

Everytime I’m told to “get over it” about the primary, it reminds me of when I’m really ticked off about something and some patronizing a-hole tells me to “calm down.” I hate that.

Also, to the charges that no Democrat would ever vote for McCain, I’ve contended for some time now that OBAMA, not McCain, is more like George W of the two presumptive nominees. We’ve already had 8 years of some swaggering, inexperienced, self-important, messiah-complexed, ill-advised, entitled, self-described “outsider” know-nothing. Look what that got us.

    Obama – Walking Eagle

I thought the lively NQ crowd would not want to miss this wonderful story copied from the http://www.hcsfjm.com website

    name: kinthenorthwes
message: Thought you might enjoy this ed
    WALKING EAGLE
BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upstate New York
HE spoke for almost an hour on HIS future plans for increasing every Native American’s present standard of living, should HE one day become the President. HE referred to his career as a Senator, how he had signed ‘YES’ for every Indian issue that came to his desk for approval. Although the Senator was vague on the details of his plan, he seemed most enthusiastic about his future ideas for helping his ‘red sisters and brothers’.
At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented the Senator with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name – Walking Eagle. The proud Senator then departed in his motorcade, waving to the crowds.
A news reporter later inquired to the group of chiefs of how they came to select the new name given to the Senator. They explained that Walking Eagle is the name given to a bird so full of shit it can no longer fly.

I have no sympathy for the Democratic Party, Obama campaign, the DNC, or any other major Obama supporter who runs into resistence from former Hillary supporters. They may call me sore loser or whatever they wish.

The facts are the facts. They redefined the primary process to favor Obama. They absolutely called for her to get out of the race unfairly. They have shown extremely poor judgment in how they have handled the unity drive.

And they reap the consequences of their own actions.

I hope they continue to bully people. It absolutely shows the mentality of the people who pushed this solution.

I continue to feel deep pride that I am NOT a part of this “new” Democratic Party.

  • I, Bama

HOLY EFF it looks like they’re going to miss the party !

Aren’t you grateful kellie that those Republicans have crossed party lines to share in the owning of your shitty candidate.

  • Linda

    Thank you.
    And, well said.

The big problem Barky has now, with the young is they were his early foot soldiers and his support. But they are also our idealistic who strive to accomplish things.

They did not look at B O ‘s primary as “just politics” as the mature folks did who supported him-for various reasons. So when the young principled and idealisstic got sold out-so quickly by Barky, it matters. And then us other base Dem’s, principled, with integrity, supported Hillary and do not support what Obama IS. Our eyes were open early. Now Obama is losing major key support.

And our safety net? I’m thinking the same way Tarply is in the most recent article CNN just covered on PUMAs.

“Tarpley said a McCain victory might be the best result if Obama is the Democratic nominee. It would allow the party an opportunity to reflect and perhaps “radicalize it in a New Deal direction.”

“I would say McCain is on track to be a tired old lame duck as soon as he gets into office, and he will face a very hostile Congress,” said Tarpley, noting that Democrats are projected to maintain majorities in the House of Representatives and Senate. “I think what you will have is gridlock, and I would say at this point gridlock is about the best you can do.”

Let me see if I understand this correctly:

The DNC actually believes that this approach is going to get us to vote for Obama?

    Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!

Now that I’ve had a good laugh this is my actual response, my heels were dug in months ago. Comments like this only harden the concrete around them. Under no circumstances am I voting for Obama. I wouldn’t care if Hillary and Bill both got down on their knees and begged me, it won’t make any difference. So they might as well spare themselves the embarassment.

I now realize that only the Election Day results are going to get these knuckleheads to get it.

    THEY CHOSE THE WRONG CANDIDATE!

They cheated! Lied! Strong-armed the process and pretty much pissed in our faces while telling us it was rain. There is no way this loyal Democrat since ’68 is going to reward their behavior with my vote.

To carry this insult further by thinking they could make an analogy to democracy with the sports world only confirms what I discovered this Primary Season: the Democratic Leadership is filled with fools.

Our Democracy is sacred. Elections and the right to choose are the fruits of American Democracy. You don’t steal people’s votes and then insult them by imposing your will on voters who are citizens of this democracy. That this is happening and that the Democrats are a party to it, has finally solidified something many of us in this country have known for a long time: We need a new Party.

Right now, if I were the Party leadership, I’d be very afraid. They are on the road to perdition. We are not the ones who need to ‘get it.’ They are!

I haven’t been posting much lately but I read everyday. Frankly, the trolls are way past their expiration date. I’m not in the mood right now to mix it up with idiots. The only reason they’re here is because they are scared shitless that this one website represents tens of thousands.

    And guess what?

    It does.

There are many out there who feel exactly as I do, but who are not Internet creatures. And in November, they are going to do exactly what I’m going to:

    Vote for McCain.

Between now and Nov is an eternity. A sink hole filled with Obama gaffes and missteps. And the quiet ones will be watching and waiting to cast their votes.

I feel absolutely nothing for the Democratic Party.

They are dead to me. The committed suicide by not realizing that they just couldn’t pull a fast one like this and not feel the wrath of their membership.

Obama and his gang of thugs deserve whatever comes their way from here on.

I am simply watching and waiting. And certainly no amount of telling me to “Get over it” is going to make an impact.

As always, Obama will have to:

    WIN WITHOUT ME!

    PS

It’s the end of July. Shouldn’t it be apparent by now that we’re not going to budge? These people are really stupid.

  • Thinker

The trains was Mussolini’s hook for the Italian masses. Italian state railways were notoriously late (no surpise to anyone who has owned a FIAT, or lived with anyone who owns a FIAT).

So, to make the Medicine Go Down, Il Duce (DOO-chey) prmised to make the trains run on time and backed the Communist-run railway unions up against the wall.

Everyone was SO happy to have reliable train service, they overlooked what a tub of rancid lard the clown was.

Hos adoring fans would crowd public squares to hear him speak, crying, “DU-ce! DU-ce!”

I usually cite Mussolini rather than Hitler, since Mussolini and the Fascists were a going concern while ‘Dolph was rotting in jail, writing MEIN KAMPF and blaming jews for the death of the Free Lunch.

    I did mention hell.

However, on each question I said I couldn’t answer it because they had selected the wrong candidate.

Now, they want us to behave. Fat chance of that!

The DNC can’t even begin to assess the damage from selecting Obama. Three million PUMAS is a conservative estimate. 77,000 members on hcsfjm.com, alone.
15% of dems becoming republicans or independents.

Obama and the DNC KNOW that Hillary is still a real threat to their f—– up agenda.

Which is why they’re trying to figure out what to do about her & her supporters at the convention.

And also why Mr. Flim-Flam keeps sending annoying little bastards like you to pro-Hillary sites to post your crap.

But it’s awfully damned hard to ignore and dismiss 18 million voters….

It’s nothing to the fatigue and irritation we all feel from bo’s fabulous fun show. I’m way past tired of him.

  • mahaska

Not your name silly, it was a vow.

  • mahaska

An earler poster here nailed it. They are trying to get people to write in Clinton, hoping we are as stupid as they are and not aware we could be wasting a vote. So, earlier poster, you were right. It’s the theme of the day.

  • mahaska

I’m sure you would recognize the smile. All your dates probably have it while thinking up an escape plan.

  • mahaska

Yeah, and we know—you came here by chance, you have an advanced degree and a black relative. Did I leave anything out?
Do ya see how tired we are of you the rest of your traveling carnival?

  • mahaska

    Hey, dial up’s a bitch.

  • mahaska

    hahahahahahahaaha

“First and foremost, I want Bush and his ilk OUT. I hated John Kerry, but I voted for him. Al Gore was a fool, but I voted for him. Obama is untested and a media darling, but I would vote for him 100 times before voting republican in this critical election!”

You’re an absolute FOOL and compromised idiot for voting for candidates you didn’t (and don’t) believe would be the most qualified for the Presidency.

    You’re a party whore.

Don’t be pissed at Hillary supporters who refuse to sell out our precious votes for an underqualified, polarizing candidate for “the party.”

  • mahaska

Am I reading the rest of you guys right? I was the kid that always wandered away from the field trip.
Sound familiar. I do what I want and nobody tells me who I must vote for.

  • Newly Independent

    John McCain definitely is.

Since you Obama zombies don’t need us Hillary “dead-enders”, you really need to get the f— out of here.

  • slobodaneee

Presumptive nominee McCain is the better choice if you hold to conservative views on choice, health care, energy policy, and national defense. If you share democratic views on the issue, the democratic candidate, Presumptive nominee Obama, is the better choice since he shares cloer views on the issues with Hillary. Now, if you just want to punish Obama for coming out top in the primary and feel he “stole” the first viable woman’s turn then McCain is also you man.

  • slobodaneee

How many PUMA and JustSayNoDeal members are there anyway? On a side note, the Obama campaign reopened the Raleigh, NC headquarters yesterday. Great crowd and energy. Young and old folks of all races. they were also registering a whole slew of folks. Incredible that they were still so many unregistered folks, but some may be like a Republican, female co-worker of mine who thought during the primary that she could vote for Obama on elections day and was bummed out when told she could not. She voted or Ron Paul as a protest vote. My colleague, unfortunately, really wants Obama to pick Hillary as VP.

  • slobodaneee

    Dan,

You don’t claim to represent everyone in London right? I’m sure many in London like Obama.

  • slobodaneee

She she running for reelection to Senate? If its for pres she can give it a rest. You can’t see the big picture can you? The caucus states will still be there. Hill’s comments about how unfair they are, etc. will come back to bite her. Her democratic opponent will have a large built primary voter base of ex-Obama supporters, particularly if it can be shown you PUMA folks voted for McCain and cost the dems the election. Well … lets hope it doesn’t come to that and Obama wins. Hill can stay in the senate where she will remain a powerful junior senator.

  • slobodaneee

    damn too many typos …

  • mr. natural

I didn’t agree with her Iraq War Vote.

Y’know how I think of that AUMF vote?

As a vote screwing up the lives of 27 million Iraqis and two million American soldiers.

    Yeah, it sucked.

    But y’know what sucks more?

Obama’s failure to give a damn about FISA

Because that vote screwed up the Constitution and the lives of 300 million people.
