RNC Radio Ad on Obama and Iraq

This is a new one-minute radio spot being run and paid for by the RNC on behalf of John McCain. The ad attacks Senator Obama for “failing to rise above politics to protect our troops.”

From my blog, By The Fault.

  • kiki

I WANT TO RNC TO DESTROY OBAMA!

    • kiki

      the*

    • Hope Floats

The red state dyed-in-the-wool Republicans are waking up. Obama is worse than both Clintons put together to the GOP base, and they aren’t shy about saying so. I have read more and more comments. They weren’t crazy about McCain, but they are coming out to vote against Obama. It’s the Democratic party’s worst nightmare.

      • Zeke

As the further-Right has no choice, they will vote. In droves. Remember that Moral Majority that elected Nixon?
Well, I know they must all be dead now cause you can’t find anybody who voted for him… but if they were to miraculously revive themselves and come out this November, there will be an ass kicking the like of never seen before.

        • Pink Panthers

They are all being sent to Camp Obama and retrained on how to think and vote in November.

          http://obambi.wordpress.com/

        • Northwest rain

I think that was the “silent majority” — moral majority is from that GOP guy who wrote a book on morals — but was a heavy gambler — and other such vices. Bill Bennet — I think.

Silent Majority was coined by Agnew??

          ttp://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/remember/agnew_9-18.html

          • flummox

The Moral Majority was an evangelical group that was a big factor in getting Reagan elected in 1980 and also helped the Republicans to take over the Senate that year. It was founded by Jerry Falwell.

          • Zeke

oops, you’re right. too silent for my old brain to remember.

        • hazeleyes

oh gosh I voted for Dick Nixon. It seemed correct at the time. Have you read SILENT COUP?

      • csuzeq

They have to hate him as much, if not more than democrats like me. The guy is just over the top ridiculous.

The RNC will attack, but Obama is his own worst enemy! He lost my vote all by himself!

    • wac for hillary

I want his sorry butt shipped back to Illinois in time for Fitzpatrick to put him in a cell next to Rezko.

  • Seattle Moss

People will look at Obama on election day and see an anti-American, terrorist sympathizing, Marxist oriented cult leader and…
    Vote
    Country First

    • Northwest rain

      I agree!

      • Zeke

        Moss,
It appears you are from the Emerald City, how about you, Rain?
I’m in what I like to call, The City of Density, just to your south.
        Enjoy both your posts!

        • Seattle Moss

          Thanks Zeke!
I’m not sure where destiny is?

          • Seattle Moss

            My eyes are going bad!
I can see you said density.
If it is just to the south then it must be Tacoma

          • Zeke

            Typical Seattlite…
The City of Destiny is your redneck neighbor to the south, Tacoma!
I just always got off on calling it the City of Density.
Perhaps, if Rain is also a “homey” of ours, we could meet to watch our beloved losers, the M’s, one evening at the Safe.
If you come, I promise to wear my t-shirt with Obama in a Mickey Mouse hat.
            Regards

            • Zeke

              Sorry, OVERLAPPING messages!

            • Seattle Moss

I will be wearing my shirt that says on the front..
I would rather vote for a boring old war hero than an anti-American racist.

              On the back

              Obama/Marx 08

              Just kidding.

How are the M’s. I stopped my subscription to the Obama Times along with the other Obama enablers months ago.
I have canceled the old media just like I have canceled the democrats from my life. Neither one represents me anymore.
I still would like to go to a game maybe with Rain and some other NW folks.

              • Zeke

Well, I can ride the train there so I get to dodge the designated driver gig. Garlic fries and another ESB and who cares that the M’s are the worst team in Baseball.
Plenty of time to get this done. We’ll probably need to go through Susan or someone to share addresses. I’m disinclined to make it easy on the trolls… I get enough mail on shaft enhancement to have to deal with asshats too.

                • Seattle Moss

                  Zeke
                  Susan has my information.
                  Give me a call!

        • Northwest rain

I’m in rural western Washington. Not much rain lately — SUN today!!

          • Seattle Moss

            NW
This was the best day of the year!

            • Zeke

As the song says, “I second that emotion!”

    • Lester

I heard that!!!! I totally agree with you.

    • wac for hillary

If they don’t, they are either delusional or as crroked as Obama.

      • wac for hillary

        I think I meant crooked.

  • DCMediagirl

McCain is going to have to hit much harder than this AND he’s going to have to get his campaign back on track. This Obama Magical Mystery Tour, McCain’s boring public appearances and the media’s lack of interest in
Straigt Talk are killing McCain. Sometimes I wonder if he actually wants to get elected. If so he’s got to get his staff and his behind back in gear.

    • Zeke

      M-girl,
After long investigation into as much of Obama’s illegal activities as I could stomach, I have come to the conclusion that there is some sort of Bombshell waiting in the wings.
This may turn out to be a phenomenal degree of restraint on the part of the Rep’s. Since so much of this has been independently discovered, there has to be truth in the info. That being said, they are waiting for his official nomination and them, Boom, Pow, To the Moon…

    • Obama is a bum

I agree. The McCain campaign is the weakest campaign I have ever seen. I surmise that McCain thinks people will vote for him just because he is a nice guy. He spends too much time apologizing for what others in his party say or do and looks bad doing this. He also spends too much time saying “I respect Senator Obama”, “Senator Obama does not hold Wright’s views”, etc. He would be better off just to keep his mouth shut rather than going on like this. If McCain wants to win he better be able to take off the gloves.

      • imustprotest

The op-ed piece that NYT refused to print was him fighting. He took Obama’s lame op-ed and took it apart piece by piece. NYT wouldn’t let him in the ring to fight.

      • Hope Floats

McCain has to run as the nice guy. The media is in the tank for Obama and that won’t change. There is plenty to attack Obama on besides just throwin dirt. But I agree the message should be sharper. McCain should have gone after Obama on trade and taxes as soon as he started moving to the middle. It’s his biggest weakness and the issue that Democrats like to bring up as part of their platform now – money.

    • Can’t stand Obama’s crybabies

Yes Zeke. I hope that is the case. I am with you. As for the pow to the moon…can they send the upper DNC bunch with him?

The RNC has to start thinking outside the box. This is a different type of battle.

I prefer that HRC stay away from any fallout if there is an October surprise. Let O and his crew fall hard!

      • pew

If Obama were to Pick Hillary as his Vp,and If O falls hard in October, that would leave Clinton as the Nominee wouldn’t it. Good enough for me.

        • Zeke

          Yeah, but the fleas!
She’d never get clear of his stench. I’m amazed at how well she’s faking her interest. ‘Ms. Hil’ is not one to forget a slight much less having her pocket picked and ass pinched at the same time.
She is doing a thing they sometimes call statesmanship.
I attended the NCO academy at Ft. Benning back when Custer was still fresh in everyone’s minds and there was an entryway there with this sign over the door.
“Tact: The art of telling someone to go to hell, and have them look forward to the journey.”
Politics is not like war in one major issue. Losers in political “battles” have often been proven by history to be the winners of “wars.”
She won’t play with Barry that far. Besides, good ol’ Bill and he are NOT trading Christmas Cards.

        • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

TOTALLY AGREE, that is my super secret plan!

      • Zeke

I wrote earlier that this thing may get more lopsided than when Goldwater went down in ’64.
It is easier to list the groups that idiot hasn’t pissed off than the other way around… And now he disses our wounded heroes???
Sometimes I’d like to bitch slap him across a room.
        Picture it…
        Forehand..
        Backhand..
        Forehand…
        Backhand…
Well, a guy can dream can’t he?
Let me have a “Yes, We Can!”

    • Mr. X

If McCain does too much, Obama copies. So McCain is letting Obama dig himself a hole first. Then McCain will hit back. These ads are just a diversion. The real games don’t start until the nominees are official.

      • Northwest rain

        BINGO!

Obama copies — he is NOT an original.

McCain is doing a Hillary is is flying under the media spot light — because the media has a hard-on for Obama. So let the media force an overdose of Obama.

    • TeakwoodKite

DCMediaGirl, The whole sorry flea circus is really grinding away, isn’t it.

McCain is being framed by the MSM, and he isn’t providing much for BO’s Crap Cannon, and BO …well as Ann Riderson said once ..

“You can put lipstick and earrings on a hog and call it Monique, but it’s still a pig.”

      • TeakwoodKite

        Ann Richards …oops

“I’ve always said that in politics, your enemies can’t hurt you, but your friends will kill you.”

    • beebop

And yet McCain’s numbers are up.

JSM has to be careful to challenge BOBO without appearing to attack him. The media will come back to defend their darling. Not only that but only the defense makes the cut and as we saw during the primary, the reasoned and well articulated questioning of positions never makes it to the 6:00 news without focusing on the snippet that makes the most unflattering look at (in this case) McCain. In this new environment of total media manipulation for Obama, it is going to fall more and more to the 527′s to do it. Sadly.

    • fif

He’s still polling practically even with BO, and gaining in swing states. This hasn’t even started yet.

  • Obama is a bum

Obama cannot lead a boy scout troop. I cannot come across one instance where Obama has shown any real leadership. He could not even lead his family out of a hellish church. This guy is all hype and no substance.

Obama needs hundreds of advisors to tell him what to do and cue cards just to speak — how can he possibly lead?

    • Zeke

I had a friend who used to say, “he couldn’t lead a group of drunk Marines to a whorehouse!” From what he has done to our servicemen while in Germany and the ‘Stan, they wouldn’t follow him anywhere.
      Chase… perhaps :)

    • Northwest rain

Obama is a follower — he has shown leadership ability on anything.

In the debates he followed (copied) Clinton — because that’s what Obama does — he copies.

There was a movie years ago — The Candidate with Robert Redford. Redford played a character who was running for the US Senate.

Obama is surrounded by people who build up his ego and protect him — put him in a bubble. He’s not exactly being a leader — he has people leading him around by his . . . ego.

Anyway at the end of the movie — the Candidate — Redford won — and his response was — no what — from there on the show was his.

Obama will NEVER be ready for leadership — he will always follow. His dumb cult followers “think” he is leading them — but they are just suckers.

I wouldn’t worry about McCain — he has plenty of time — or the GOP has plenty of time to unload all their research on Obama — too much, too soon the shock will wear off.

Anyway Obama is doing such a great job of screwing up — why waste the money now.

And then team Obama is going to piss off the sports fans who tune in to see the Olympic games — $5 Million of Obama-crap — people are going to be SICK of Obama.

      • Northwest rain

        damned I can’t write –

Obama hasn’t shown leadership ability on anything of importance to American.

        • Zeke

As usual my friend, you got it.

    • jwrjr

Obama, as you say, cannot lead a Boy Scout troop (besides, who would want Boy Scout troop to learn Chicago-style politics?) Obama has, however, shown himself to be very good at leading Lemmings. And you know where they go.

  • sayitisntso

Media, then explain why McCain is leading in swing states.

  • VRWC – Destroy Obama Dept.

I WANT TO RNC TO DESTROY OBAMA!

We’re thinking about it, but he may beat us to the punch and destroy himself first. Also, if you Pumas keep doing like you’ve been doing, you may cross our plans up, and down him before the Denver convention – then we go our separate ways but still there will be that champagne moment first. We all deserve it.

Seriously, we’ll be glad that you’ve seen the MSM similarly as we’ve seen it for long years – different explanations for it, but similar phenomenon. And we’ve seen that there are a whole lot of contemporary Democrats whose patriotism is the real fighting thing. And many of us won’t forget that. Yeah, I know, we should have known all along. I’m particularly intrigued that the thugs seem to have sorted themselves out into Obama’s side.

I have to admit that I like that photo of Hillary in the rain over at HillBuzz. I like to think that Obama would be prissy like, who permitted this rain? But he’s an organizer with insight, he’s Sybok, watch out for him.

    • kiki

I will be my glorious to bring down BO before convention, we can celebrate for one night and then we will go our seperate ways! :-)

btw, I also love that picture of HRC in the rain.
Obama will definately would have complained about that. I hope it rains the day of his nomination speech LMAO!

      • imustprotest

If this wasn’t so important and scary cuz it’s real life and we must defeat Obama….I’d say that sounds like the making of a cute movie! Repubs and Real Dems join together to bring down the O … then at :)

        • imustprotest

the end they meet for one champagne toast..starring Meg Ryan as the Democrat and of course Tom Hanks as the repug…okay okay a rip off of You’ve Got Mail…I love that movie Okay!

    • ginaswo still says no Uhhbama

      WooT!

      country before party

  • samb

Maybe the RNC is waiting until Obama has spun a web for himself, and has made himself larger then life, so that when they scandalize him, it will stick and he will look like a hypocrite. I guess time will tell?

    • Chicago Joe

The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

  • sayitisntso

I have not met one single Obama supporter who is one bit grateful for our troops. The public doesn’t like the war in Iraq, but they aren’t about to make MORE problems by electing Stupid.

They know McCain can get us out without losing face. He really doesn’t HAVE TO perform Barackflips…oops, is that racist?

  • Zeke

I gotta tell ya, it amazes me how each and every time Barry has a chance to make a smart decision, he screws the pooch.
One of our posters talked earlier about his possible mental illness as a narcissist. Sorry, too lazy to chase back to the posting but it was spot on.
He so glibly denies real events, statements he made in front of cameras. How many, “I never said”s can he blow out his ass?
My son, who is a very gentle man, has been on me for months that I’ve gone over the edge in my war against Barry but tonight I got a call.
He said, “Dad, you’re right. The man is crazy.”
You are now free to imagine my craggy visage beaming from ear to ear.

    • jwrjr

And the pooch ain’t too happy about it.

      • Zeke

Just went up and caught that… Cool!

      • Zeke

        Damn!
You people are kicking my butt tonight! I just clean up the EXPENSIVE ale off the keyboard and another of drops me cold. Mercy!!!
        :)

    • Can’t stand Obama’s crybabies

Gotta say he does screw the pooch often. Where does it end? I see this creep and his crew of creeps working the US just like the Nazi Youth Corp did. I just hope that there is a big RNC surprise waiting for this clown.

  • okie/paul

Is a old saying if someone is tearing themselves apart stay out of their way. McCain is gaining in the polls and 70 percent now agree with McCain that we should drill so i dont see a need to panic. The time to watch for all out gloves off is last two weeks of the campaign

    • Zeke

      Yup,
Remember Bette Davis in ‘All About Eve’? Well, google it if you don’t. Real good movie.
She said, “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night!”
If it weren’t really for all the marbles, this would make a good Hitchcock movie. The plot gets a little unbelievable at times but the surprise ending is gonna be a mutha!

      • imustprotest

Whoa Zeke, this is weird I just posted a similar comment with a movie reference above. Different movie and different theme but similar nonetheless. :)

      • Can’t stand Obama’s crybabies

Great movie! I think the stretch is not going to wear well with the public. I see multitudes of mini cracks.

      • Hope Floats

I love that movie. Another great line is when Bette Davis says, “Remind me of the time I looked into the heart of an artichoke.”

    • basil

If you see your enemy drowning, throw them an anchor.

  • Larse12

Zeke our nephew whom is 28 called us tonight from Mpls and said, “Your right, Obama is not who we thought he was!” I jumped for joy because his group was in the tank for Obama. Drip Drip Drip It is really starting to happen. He is destroying himself.
Him and his thugs. So arrogant. No Class at all.

    • Can’t stand Obama’s crybabies

There has to be light at the end of the tunnel.

      • Zeke

Unfortunately for Barry boy, that light is the onrushing Train of the Truth and he is way too far down the tunnel to escape!

    • Zeke

This is almost making me want to sing folk songs again. Almost… (Django’d roll in his grave if I really did) but doesn’t it almost remind you of that sense of enlightenment you always thought about? You know, the time when, for awhile you actually thought you really Had It Figured Out?
And the scales fell off of their eyes…
People are really snapping out of it!
      AFR!

    • Zeke

I am truly happy for you and know how you feel!
      Wahoo!
      :)

  • nelson

HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE! ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!

  • sayitisntso

When I confront an OSupporter with some comment like “Obama Sucks”, they are so doubtful and insecure, they just look like they’re going to cry or have a breakdown right there and then.

If someone heckled me about a Hillary sign, I’d at least say something like “Go to He**!”

    • Northwest rain

This is because you are questioning them — making them think — and your remark is unexpected.

You’ve done nothing violent — you are merely making a statement of opinion.

Obama’s support is really weak — there are the few hard core nut cases — but the people who are starting to wake up from whatever spell Obama has them under — these are the ones who will respond as you described.

I tried this — Obama sucks in February — and the Obama cultist merely told me to check out the Obama website — ALL my questions would be answered. Of course these same idiots had not done any homework and claimed that Obama has been a US Senator for 12 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doubt about Obama’s adequacy are starting to get passed the cult implants!

  • samb

The Obama tour, is the play it safe tour he smile and the camera loves it , but someone told me once that ” everyone get sick of everyone”.

  • Pink Panthers

Did I miss something? Has the Presidential election taken place and Obama won?

According to The Atlantic, the Obama team is working on Obama’s Presidential transition.

    In addition:

Obama’s Foreign Policy Advisor had to be reminded he couldn’t invoke White House rules and traditions since Obama was not in the White House.

Obama replaced the American flag with his logo on the campaign plane.

Obama unveiled a “Presidential” seal for use at campaign events.

What is going on here? This is out of control.

    http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/07/obama_team_begins_work_on_pres.php

    • Zeke

      Easy, Pink
We’ve almost been celebrating tonight with realization that this guy is imploding.
He shoots himself in the foot more each day and Today! Today he reaffirms his hatred of our military. I don’t remember any candidate who was against our military who ever got elected.
It is by far the biggest mistake of a series of mistakes.
He is circling the drain and about to be flushed.
July 24th may turn out to be the day the tide turned.

      • Pink Panthers

Thanks Zeke. I’ll go drink another case of boone’s farm.

        • Zeke

I’m a fan of the Great Northwest ales myself but lets tip one together right now.
          Cheers!

        • sfhillary

Horseshit. He didn’t dis any wounded heroes. The Pentagon, which as usual is shitting on the Constitution by being in the bag for the Republicans, announced at the last minute that they wouldn’t support his trip to the hospital base because it’s a “campaign trip.” Andrea Mitchell and others are reporting this this morning. It’s typical underhanded scumbag Bush-era GOP politics infecting the military, a really, really low blow at Obama. So of course you useful idiots will love it and go scurrying around parroting your Rush Limbaugh talking points that Obama doesn’t support the troops. You are low-info sheep with zero sense of genuine honor; your blithe lies about the troops for political purposes are the most profound form of real disrespect I can imagine.

          • WildChild

right, blame it on the pentagon

          • http://deleted AnninCa

The base was ready for him and said, “We don’t know why he passed us up.”

Horseshit is right, but it’s from Obama, not the military.

The real answer was pretty obvious. The base had told him, “No press.”

Why bother if it’s not a Kodak moment?

            He’s a hypocrite.

            • sfhillary

              Sigh. Here’s the link:

              http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2008/07/25/mitchell-scuttlebutt-says-mccain-sabotaged-obama-military-hospital

It doesn’t matter. You PUMAs do not live in reality and don’t care what actually happened; you just want the latest piece of dirt to throw at Obama; whether it is true or not is of no relevance whatsoever. We all know this; why pretend otherwise. You Republicans did the same thing to Bill Clinton in the 90s, and the press always goes along with it; it’s why Bill got impeached over a lie about his sex life and Bush has gotten away with profound war crimes and everyone just rolls over. Now you Republican scum pretending to be Democrats are trying to do the same to Obama. Good fucking luck. We will bury you in November.

              • WildChild

                Right, blame McCain.

          • Seattle Moss

            just answer this question.

Why did Obama not get up and cheer our troops at the state of the union like Hillary and the other patriotic Americans in attendance?

Obamabots are unpatriotic and wished for defeat in Iraq.

            Shame on you Anti-Americans!!!

            • sfhillary

Now you’re defining patriotism by which Bush applause lines a man stood up for? LOL. My God, can any human beings get more ignorant and shallow and sheeplike and robotic than you people proudly spraying your GOP talking points? It’s like there is some conveyor belt of data nuggets that begins with Karl Rove, gets processed through Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and spew out the mouths of PUMAs, who then congratulate themselves on the originality of their thought.

You people are a menace to democracy and freedom.

              • WildChild
              • Seattle Moss

                I will ask you again!

Why did he not get up and clap the success of the surge??

Only someone against the surge and victory in Iraq would do such a thing.

We are hiring a commander and chief to keep us safe and look out for the best interests of America.
Obama is more concerned with getting elected
If Obama and people like yourself had their way America today would be a defeated and disgraced country.
                Thanks to McCain !!

obama is a menace to democracy and freedom. you’ll be drafted by obambi IF he ever wins the white house (doubtful) to fight his wars or to be part of his hitler youth brigage, oops, I mean civilian national security force.

obama is an unqualified, egotistical prick who will say anything to get elected. can’t help our soldiers, can’t thank them, can’t admit his own mistakes.

its judgment day, baby! he will be judged harshly and thrown in the dust bin of history like every other charlatan.

enjoy your koolaid, but don’t come crying here when you lose. we told you, troll.

            sf you need to understand..

            That It’s a new day

A democratic Iraq rich like the other pro western oil countries is within reach.
A few years from now Iraq will be a prime investment and the Iraqi people will be free
            I’m bullish on Iraq!

            Just so that you know..

Overthrowing a Stalinist dictatorship in Iraq and building a pro western democratic country uniquely allied with the United States is worth the effort.
I don’t mean to shock you sf but I do believe someday soon the Iraq war will be looked on as a Brilliant Strategy to prevent global resource wars by having an American presence in the heart of the middle east.

You sound so defeated now sf.
You are losing now by wishing defeat and humiliation and acting Anti-American.
The American people no longer support your view!

            • sfhillary

You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. Not a clue. Hearing you speak of Iraq’s wealth is particularly sad and ironic. Do a little reading about the oil law passed by the Iraqi parliament two years ago (its members handpicked by the Pentagon after Bremer cancelled the free elections when polling indicated that left-leaning nationalist candidates were going to win). It grants foreign petroleum companies like Exxon and BP to extract oil from Iraq’s reserves, pipe it out, and keep 100% of the profits. Basically, we conquered Iraq, allowed its infrastructure to be demolished, allowed a sectarian war to destroy the country socially, and passed “laws” to steal the nation’s entire economic future in order to benefit the huge oil industry that Bush and Cheney belong to. And pious ignoramuses like you talk about the wealthy democracy we’ve created. Your level of ignorance and delusion is sad and tragic, and the Iraqis understand this; it’s why the Prime Minister (al-Maliki, you maybe have heard of him at least?) has publicly sided with Obama in insisting that the U.S. army leave his country already within two years. They know they’ve been screwed over. I would imagine that the only thing more insulting than knowing you’ve been blasted to hell is listening to assholes like you sanctimoniously blither ignorantly about how good the invasion was. Really, sometimes the shit you PUMAs say is just beyond belief. You are like absurdist parodies of dumbass Americans.

even BOBO admits the surge is working.

                • sfhillary

Meaning what? Does your level of geopolitical understanding extend beyond the grade-school formulation “the surge is working?” Let me try and help you: yes, the increased U.S. troop presence appears to be one of several major factors that led to a dramatic decrease in the catastrophic level of violence that had already largely destroyed Iraq as a functioning nation. But “the surge” hasn’t done squat to produce a lasting power-sharing arrangements between the Sunnis and the Shiites (McCain himself doesn’t appear to understand the difference between these two Muslim sects so perhaps none of you McCain voters do either); or to increase the independence or professionalism of the Iraqi army, which remains largely helpless and dependent on our troops; or to repair the shattered infrastructure that our hundreds of billions of borrowed dollars were supposed to protect, and then to repair, neither of which happened.

And, you know, of course, the “surge” isn’t going to give half a million dead Iraqis and 4,000-plus U.S. servicemen and women their lives back. It will never erase the vast tsunami of blood that our scumbag war criminal of a president unleashed, and McCain wants to extend. But it’s not like any of you give a shit about trivialities like mass murder. You just want to be able to say Obama wants “defeat” because it makes you feel good.

Assholes. You have no clue what real patriotism consists of. None. You insult the very idea with every breath you take.

When it’s time to fight. You fight.

Do these three thing and you’ll always have this country to call home.

              • Seattle Moss

I think we should view any Obama/Maliki 16 month troop reduction
                with Great Suspicion!
Maliki leans towards Iran. If given a chance the Iranians along with a complicit Maliki would align themselves together against the United States.
That is exactly what we don’t want to happen!
Obama through his naiveness is already taking the bait from Maliki for unilateral surrender.
Obama by showing his hand repeatedly on the 16 month plan for retreat has given our enemies a timetable for victory against America.
All the Iranians have to do is wait another 16 months to control and influence Iraq. We may even see terrorists elected into the Government such as Hezbolah which will complete Osama’s strategy of politically controlling a Sovereign state such as Iraq.

Benchmarks and progress depends on conditions on the ground. Gen Patreous makes the decision on troop reductions based on sustainable security.
Maliki wants us out because he is a shiite who looks to Iran to complete a greater hegemony over the region
Obama if elected will give up Iraq and allow Iran to take control of it.

    • Zeke

He must have found out that Petraeus is an exceptional leader who knows how to get a mission done. Since the general’s success would result in an embarrassment for Barry, there would be no way he could support him. Don’t shoot the messenger, but Hil wasn’t all that sweet and kind to him either.

      Noah
Just in case you need reminding..

      We are FDR/Reagan/Clinton/McCain Democrats.

      We decide every election!

Your democrat selection doesn’t meet the min requirements for the job of president.

We are looking for a much better experienced candidate in a time great of crisis.
We are looking for a candidate with core values and convictions that have passed many laws and stood behind them despite opposition.
We are looking for a candidate that values country before party, country before self.
We want a candidate who will defend America and will never surrender and will never cause America to be humiliated.

John McCain won the Iraq war for America!

Obama wished defeat for America and therefore is disqualified from being president by the voters who decide all elections.

      • sfhillary

        >John McCain won the Iraq war for America!

Anyone who thinks we “won” this war is too stupid for a sentient human to comprehend.

        • WildChild

If the commenters on this blog are typical Hillary supporters, then we’re really lucky that she lost the nomination.

We’re just “typical white people” here.

    • beebop

“Legit Dems” don’t stand by while voters are disenfranchised.

      • Pam

I was wondering when an Obot would say the magic words “racist” “racism” “vitriol”.

They keep racism alive so they can capitalize on it and sometime “get away with murder”. What ever they want in life, in the media, in the court system, in the political system, in the supply chain, etc., etc., they cry “racism” to get what they want. Even when racism isn’t involved, it’s a knee jerk reaction so they can propagate fear that one could be labeled a racist when one isn’t, just as Legit Dem is.

Legit Dem, you are a racist sir. You love racism and you keep it alive for your own benefit.

  • Silver

I didn’t think that ad packed much of a punch at all…same old, same old. He’ll have to do better than that. That ad could have applied to ANY politician (fill in the blank). McCain has to get more personal with information that is unique to Obama—info that will hit a BIG nerve with voters specifically against Obama.

I like the ad that Marc Rubin suggested with John McCain in his military uniform as a young person, and Obama in his African garb—placing the pictures side by side.

Someone tell John McCain to hire Marc Rubin. Immediately!! He has phenomenal ideas.

  • DancingOpossum

Yes, great idea!! Rubin was in advertising and he’s a fantastic writer. That hypothetical ad he concocted for McCain would be stunning if made into a real advert.

Following the brouahaha over His Imperial Highness’s refusal to visit the wounded troops, and the usual series of WORMS about it, I fully expected the McCain camp to go ballistic! Where are they??

Even the MSM was forced to cover BO’s huge gaffe, backtracking, and WORM frenzy when he tried to blame the DOD and the army hospitals for not being able to go–said it was the hospital’s decision. The hospital immediately issued a one-word statement: “He isn’t coming to see us and we don’t know why.” OUCH!! SERIOUS bitch-slap! All the McC folks would have to do is show some wounded soldiers and then put that one-word statement on the screen. (See, I’m coming up with ideas too!)

    • http://deleted AnninCa

McCain responded. The press is covering Obama non-stop, however, with rarely a moment for McCain.

The press is about to make a gigantic mistake. They are so in the tank for Obama that it’s now not even debatable. It’s the same as the sexism against Hillary.

This is too obvious. People will chuck them over, I think.

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com Gloria

This is a devastating start….and when they do one on how he stiffed the troops in Germany…a one-two punch…

It’s really a horrible situation we’re in, though….Would McCain and Republicans pass that 10% cut to Drs. and Medicare???

I’m on Medicare and I NEED Medicare…the GOP wants to destroy it….would McCain go along??? If the Democrats keep Obama in place, I think they could lose Congress.

Hillary has stood up for Medicare AND reproductive rights over the last few days….while Obama has been bullshitting overseas…

  • DancingOpossum

Yup. Hillary continues to be brilliant, savvy, and truly committed to her ideals.

She fights like a pit bull for these issues that really matter to the American people, while Obama prances around giving pretty speeches that everyone is rapidly growing tired of.

And as a bonus: Doing all this important work keeps her far, far, too busy to campaign for BO. When was the last time she stumped for him? But nobody can say a word against her because look how busy she is fighting for her constituents and all Americans. Hehehehe.

    She is amazing.

  • Patrick

Hello, this is my first post here. Full disclosure: I am a Republican. BUT I am NOT a straight ticket guy. My last three presidential votes were Clinton, Bush, write in McCain/Lieberman (honestly, it’s true!). My reason for NOT voting for Bush in the last election had nothing to do with the war but with the blurring of/damage to the separation of Church and State by the far right wing of my party. I describe myself NOT as in independent, but as a Centrist. I define Centrism not as a specifically recognizable ideology but in the fact that you would not be able to predict any position I hold on key social/political issues based on my beliefs on any other issue: i.e., being Hawkish on foreign policy doesn’t equate to other so-called ‘conservative’ values — I’m very pro-choice and very much in favor of gay marriage and all the benefits (and pitfalls!) that come with it!

I give this full disclosure only so that no one confuses me for a GOP troll or an Ozombie.

I’ve been perusing this site since the primary ended because I’ve become fascinated with how the Democratic primary played out and, frankly, by how horribly Hillary Clinton was treated. It was obvious. It was blatant and it was, totally, completely, racist. Period. There is no arguing this point, the Obama campaign played the race card from day one because it’s the ONLY card they have to play against those not addicted to a rather shallow MTV culture.

I just felt compelled to iterate something that has been rolling around in my thoughts for a while.

I fear an Obama presidency. I fear it not for myself, but for my two sons. I fear what this person would do to any hopes and dreams my kids may some day have.

I am voting for John McCain, proudly, happily, for a lot of reasons. He was right on Iraq, from how poorly it was handled early on to the ‘surge’ to what to do now and to what do in the future. He speaks to me as an American NOT because I agree with every issue he stands for but because I do NOT agree with every one: He would still talk to me about those disagreements and honestly listen. He’s shown that he works across the isle, he’s shown that he will buck the GOP when needs to.

My ultimate point is this: When I go to sleep at night, I am literally afraid of what would happen if America actually sleptwalked through the fall and elected a Marxist to the Oval Office. I fear his presidency, I fear for my kids. I love my boys. They mean everything to me and I want them to have every chance that I had, that I worked hard for, that this nation has to offer. I know in my heart Obama will strive to take all that away, to give it to a strange global community that he feels he must lead.

I was so hoping that Hillary was going to win the Democratic nomination. I would not have voted for her over McCain. But there is one thing I know: Had the election come down to Hillary and McCain, I would never have gone to sleep at night worried about the future of my children because both of those individuals have proven themselves to be true patriots. They love this country. They may disagree on issues but not on America.

I’d like to thank you, as a Centrist Republican, for not falling victim to this strange cult-like malaise that has fallen over the young voters in this country; for not falling victim to the race-bating fear so blatantly being played upon the American public; for not believing an arrogant press; for standing up for your convictions.

I am not a religious person, I do not fancy organized religion or pray. If I did, however, I would be thinking of you all, hoping that you maintain the strength to carry on this fight, to help America in November keep this bizarre political creation out of office and to help assure that two wonderful boys that I kiss good night every evening with trepidation in my heart have a future to look forward to.

    Thank you,
    Pat

    • http://home.comcast.net/~vincep312 Vince P

Pat: I would say i’m a solid conservative (I’m not a social conservative though). I was/am totally appalled at how the Republican mismanaged the government budget and turned into the monster they always claimed to be against.

With that being said… I’m absolutely scared of an Obama win. He’s a Marxist Trojan Horse. We have no idea where his boundries are.. what is the limit of his radicalness… combine that with the nutcases that is the leadership of the Democrat party today and there’s no telling the damage they’ll cause as they impose their draconian socialism on us all.

Combine that with his weakness that he transmits to our enemies… Our very shrewd, patient, determined, motivated enemies.

Radical Leftists are no match in a game of wits with Radical Muslims. The Muslims know exactly how to play them like fiddles.

I really dont think Obama will win though. I refuse to believe that this country is that far down the road of self-destruction…. YET.
