Jon Stewart Covers Barack’s Travels

DCMediaGirl told me last night that she’d been watching Stewart’s videos all day, so I had to pop into ComedyCentral.com and take a look.

And … coming soon … a formal press release announcing DCMediaGirl’s first show Friday night, July 25, at 10 p.m. ET on NoQuarter’s BlogRadio channel. (That’s TONIGHT!) Larry Johnson, her pal, talked her into calling her show “DCMediaGirl’s Hour of Power.”

DCMediaGirl is going to give “no quarter” to the media’s coverage of Barack’s travels, and she wants your phone calls.

She also plans to talk about Pakistan.

  • terri

Does John Stewart feel a tingle creeping up his leg? The Comedy Central folks are so in the tank for Obama.

    • workingclass artist

did you watch this video ? This is tooo funny. Thanks for the video Susan.

      • I, Bama

It started out funny, Jon calling Obama the President of Dreamerica, and the thing about obama visited the site of his own birth in Bethlehem, and the Obama as Moses on the mountaintop bit.
But he only got real laughs when he started the McCain riff.

The funniest thing to me out of the whole clip is that they were mocking McCain for visiting Wilkes-Barre, PA. Like it was some hole in the wall.

        Earth to Daily Show:
Why do you think McCain is focussing on “hole in the wall” communities in PA and OHIO?

        duh

        • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

Jon Stewart is an entertainer. His audience is mainly the far left in the studio – at least in my perception. He has to make a living. It is not an excuse, but it explains it.

          • http://liberalrapture.com scott in jupiter

He had to tell them it was OK to laugh at barky jokes a few weeks ago.

        • Ellen D

Everyone – look at the Ageism ‘comedy’ on McCain everywhere that has replaced the Sexism on Hillary like Jon Stewart’s writers thinking it is hilarious that they show John McCain on a stair climber.
Reminds me when all comedians thought it was hysterical to mock the ad with the old lady “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.” Not so funny when your mom dies after a fall.

I hope all the boomers like me approaching and in Seniority who don’t appreciate being portrayed this way come out in big numbers to flatten the so-called hip youth vote that everyone is pandering to.

          • John

Check out the Ageism at Media Matters for America, which used to be one of my favorite sites. The other day one poster put up a photo of a bunch of seniors sitting in a living room, with the caption “This is McCain’s Base!” A regular poster replied “who would want to hang around all day with old people?”

I posted a reply which said “Imagine if I took your post, and put the word ‘black’ in place of the word ‘old.’ I’d have page after page of replies calling me a racist. But I’m sure you’ll get no such negative reaction to your nasty comment.”

And guess what? I got flamed. I was called an “idiot” who “just didn’t get it.”

There’s no reasoning with some people, and some people are just too convinced of their moral and intellectual superiority to see their own flaws.

            • wac for hillary

I think you got it quite well, and those flaming you proved who the real idiots were. I’m sure their parents and grandparents would really appreciate being mocked by their children.

            • http://deleted AnninCa

Ageism and sexism aren’t really taken seriously, although there are serious problems that come from these attitudes.

For example, women are far more likely to be victims of physical abuse than any other group. The rate of male-on-female violence is still very high in our country, and it’s a great deal more common than racial hate crimes are. It’s so common, in fact, that it doesn’t really get a lot of attention.

Ageism is also serious. I have friends in their 50s, at the peak of their careers, who lie about their age because the young generation is so hostile about age issues. They fear losing their jobs.

To me? You simply don’t get a pass and still consider yourself “progressive.” You cannot blast McCain’s slips on the trail and give Obama a pass, for example. That’s ageism. That’s implying he’s forgetful. I haven’t seen any signs that’s the case with him at all. Obama slips as often.

You can’t employ sexism and ageism and be liberal.

              Won’t work.

I have lost all respect for the core groups supporting Obama due to this. They aren’t true liberals. They are snarky assholes.

So the one GOOD thing to come of this is that I have no respect for the trolls. I have their number, and they are just phony liberals with mental problems for the most part.

          • Catherine

The youth vote represents the “New Order”. Obama appeals to teenyboppers and those teeny bopper wannbees who are afraid of getting older and losing their children. The parents who bankrolled their college kids for Obama have great fear of their kids leaving the nest and want to be sure “junior” knows mommy and daddy are always ready to help. They need to get a real job and work the mines in West Virginia before they act so high and mighty and arrogant just like their leader, the “Great One” who is as pnoney as the Wizard of Oz.

            • John

They are the kind of young parents who send their kids off to summer camp with their cellphones with entreaties to keep in touch with their parents and “other friends.”

Because they live in mortal terror of not being seen as “cool” by their kids. In time, those kids either move back home to mommy’s basement or take apartments on mommy’s credit card. This year, their favorite activities included crashing caucuses and bullying Hillary supporters, and flaming anyone who disagreed with their Hero as “racist” or just plain “old.”

Bart Simpson: “We need another Vietnam, thin out their ranks a little!”

        • s. hall

I Bama — I suppose running for the Presidency of the United States is not as cool as Running for Leader of the World. Sometimes older is wiser — in this case the younger guy is a lunatic. Whats next on the agenda? Jesus endorses Obama on Christmas eve.

      • Diana

I also thought it was hilarious! I’ve seen John McCain now on SNL poking fun at himself, and Hillary also. I can’t remember if Obama has? or is he beyond laughter? The presidential election is not a laughing matter. I will not tolerate being poked fun at. I said, “NO SATIRE!” He sort of reminds me of the Burgermeister Meisterburger from Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Aww to be a child again…

    • Dawnelle león del puma

      guten morgan! (?)

lmao you must admit the verb tense thing was hilarious!!

McCain needs to just not say anything.

      Let BHO sink himself.

I added them to my “do not watch” list a long time ago. They have plenty of company on the list–CNN, MSNBC, the networks’ news shows.

  • HillGirl

Remember when Obama placed the porta potties on the fallen police memorial in Portland, OR?

This time, Obama plastered Israel’s holy Western Wall with campaign posters. Check out the story at HillBuzz.

    • I, Bama

Obama and Press: End of the Affair?

Later that afternoon, Nagourney got permission from Times editors to e-mail Sargent a response to the Obama memo. But the episode still grates. “I’ve never had an experience like this, with this campaign or others,” Nagourney tells me. “I thought they crossed the line. If you have a problem with a story I write, call me first. I’m a big boy. I can handle it. But they never called. They attacked me like I’m a political opponent.”

      • s. hall

I Bama — Very interesting article. The media sets up this strawman. What is there about Obama to make the media fawn? A Community Organizer, who basically ran for the Senate unopposed. Then as a 2 year Senator decided he wanted to run for the Presidency. The media made him a Rock Star. Then they became afraid of him. How ridiculous these people are. All they had to do was their job and they wouldn’t have a problem. So Obama turned out to be an arrogant pile of excrement. We could have told you so. Now do your job and stop making fun of a man with 20 years experience. The American people don’t want some no nothing cool dude as President. This country needs fixing. Experience Required.

        • I, Bama

But scratch the surface, and you’ll find a lot of mixed feelings behind the Obama “love.” Reporters are grumbling more and more that the campaign is acting like the Prom Queen. They gripe that it is “arrogant” and “control[ling],” and the campaign’s own belief that Obama is poised to make history isn’t endearing, either. The press certainly helped Obama get so far so fast; the question is, how far can he get if his campaign alienates them?

The press giveth, and the press taketh away.

Obama gaffe — a new one.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/07/obama_many_planes_were_forced.html

Barack Obama stated that “many planes were forced to turn back” from the Berlin Airlift because of the bad weather. Great imagery, but contrafactual.

Obama should have read my book before making his claim about the Berlin Airlift. Barely a handful of the nearly 28,000 flights “turned back” in the face ir the cruel winter of 1948-1949.

Nothing like getting pwned by someone who has done some real research.

    h/t to http://therealbarackobama.wordpress.com/

    • Betty

That quote reminded me of the many people living in the Obama slums who froze during the cruel Chicago winter because Rezko needed cash to buy Obama a mansion.

    • http://deleted AnninCa

Sort of like when thousands died in a tornado? The actual figure was 6 people.

But he has the audacity to point out McCain gets “confused.”

      • C.S.

Almost 50 year old Obama has about as many of those Senior moments as 72 year old McCain has (although McCain has lived a much harder life with 6 years as a POW than pampered Obama has) while 60 year old Senator Clinton has none; as you can tell from yesterday’s speech.

So why is it the “youth” sees old man Barack as a better candidate? You’d think Senator Clinton’s energy and upbeat personality would appeal to them more than Obama’s stern visage – does that guy ever smile when it’s not about him?

        • http://deleted AnninCa

Did you hear his latest in Germany? He said it was good to meet the heads of states because he may be dealing with them for 8 or 10 years.

          LOL*

          Say what?

Guess Obama is going to continue being president after it’s over!

          • GrapeApe

I read yesterday in a post that Obama is coming dangerously close to violating the Logan Act:

The Logan Act is a United States federal law that forbids unauthorized citizens from negotiating with foreign governments. It was passed in 1799 and last amended in 1994. Violation of the Logan Act is a felony, punishable under federal law with imprisonment of up to three years.

Wouldn’t that just be the frosting on the cake?!!

            • http://deleted AnninCa

Yes, I saw that. I wondered, given the uproar over Elton John’s concert just how Obama was getting by with the German government spending half a million on security alone on his campaign speech.

              Seems very unfair to me.

          • helen

In his mind he became president when he decided to be a candidate. That explains the extra two years.
The day he decided he was no longer a senator and did not even have to pretend to do senate business.
he lives in his own world.

              You’re probably right!

        • s. hall

C.S. The media tells us we want a Rock Star and the country has Obamamania. Don’t we just love his sour puss and his miserable wife who hates this country? Or how bout his friends? Seems they all have one thing in common–a dislike of everything we stand for. I keep hearing Obama say he will need 8 to 10 years. Obama doesn’t believe in what he calls electionocracy. He thinks that too many elections confuse people. So if people don’t care for Obama now they are going to be really sick of him if he doesn’t leave. Bear that in mind. This arrogance could be with us a long time. And when you don’t agree with his pompous judgements–what then?

    • http://www.greensunshine.net jadwiga

I think the real problem is that the US delivered a mixed bag of goodies during the war and after.
Germany never had seen so much suffering and death as during the air attacks of the allied forces. Hamburg is practically built on a city size cemetery. They couldn’t collect all the bodies from under the ruins of the city. They just covered large parts of the city and built on top of it.

The how and why of the second World War is an old story now. I don’t think the Germans have a beef with USA because of that. But it is terribly stupid to remind them of all the suffering.
He should have left this theme alone.

      • s. hall

jadwiga — Worse than that was to remind the German people of their past — when Obama said You don’t see many people of my color making speeches in Berlin.

    • wac for hillary

Who is writing his speeches? He’s too lazy to do it himself, and he obviously can’t be bothered to fact-check them before he gives them. Since I don’t listen to that arrogant ass, what was his point?

      • http://deleted AnninCa

        *blink*

The only president to write his own speeches was Bill Clinton.

      • GrapeApe

You sure he isn’t writing his own? His passion and pride is in his self-perception that he is a master with words. If he’d spend more time learning, and less time writing, he might reduce his gaffe rate.

Remember, he embellished and rewrote the truth of his own life to make his books something he thought people would be impressed by, so he is probably creating scenarios of history for his speeches, as well. Those gaffes are really just creative license in composition.

      • s. hall

wac for Hillary — How bout the one the other day about the Bomb that dropped on Pearl Harbor? This one is especially galling considering that Obama spent his life in Hawaii and never heard about the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor which lead to the US declaring war on Japan. Obama isn’t young, he has had no experience, and he isn’t smart. If it isn’t on the teleprompter he knows nothing. Axelrod said he was selling Obama not the issues. Well we have seen Obama for the last year and a half in which time he has turned from a Democrat to a defacto Republican and stands for nothing but himself. Its time for the Real Obama to show himself.

        • wac for hillary

They could put a Red Tag on Obama and try to sell him at a discount, and I still wouldn’t buy the bullshit.

WTF!- I just sat through 6minutes of that crap and all it was was a Mccain attack and a sudo-Obama teasing. This is why I have stopped watching John Stewart – he doesn’t have the balls to really criticize Obama like he does every other politician. Why is this up on the site?!

    • beebop

Did you notice how little laughter there was during the oblowme portion? Again, people seem to need to get permission to laugh. Does America want to give up its historical use of humor to skewer politicians? Even those it admires? I personally think he’s the turd in your baby’s diaper.

        It’s true racism.

He’s not equal enough to handle a joke!

      • wac for hillary

Isn’t Stewart Jewish? Does he really want this pinhead as his President? And how long are people going to be cowed by fear of being labeled a racist? Race plays no part in why I’m voting for McCain; Obama would be disastrous for America.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

      • The Gringo’s Wife

To be honest, I’m a little afraid of saying anything negative around mixed company. A few family members go utterly ballistic in his defense.

It’s true. I think the reason the Obamabots are so hysterical is that they have committed themselves. When you question Obama, you are questioning their judgment and rightfully so. They know that.

        This is Bush Redux.

Right down to Obama never winning a true majority and the country staying split.

Personally, I can’t stand the phony. And I’m getting a little sick and tired of the issue being about Black America.

            excellent website.

        • s. hall

rw — when something gets old — thats when it becomes funny. The meme on Obama is that he is an arrogant pompous ass. It will work because people are seeing that Obama is never satisfied unless he is making a spectacle of himself. When Stewart makes fun of his pal McCain because of his age and experience he is really making fun of this kid who is constantly trying to impress people with how great he is. Watch and you will see Stewart talk about Obama fearing debates and a hostile media. The Bush dumb thing didn’t happen overnight. Obama fears humor because humor is what will lead to his downfall.

          • rw

            Point understood. But on:

“The Bush dumb thing didn’t happen overnight. Obama fears humor because humor is what will lead to his downfall.”

I remember the “not too bright” comments surrounding Bush in 2000, which only escalated as he served office…the Bushisms even became the subject of books. That did not deter from his winning a second term in 2004.

On the other hand, there were the very non-humorous swiftboat ads and Kerry’s own words before the Vietnam Congressional hearings in the 1970′s (shown on C-SPAN repeatedly during the campaign season )in which he maligned the Am. troops with a wide brush stroke.

In the vernacular: likable, fun, dumb Bush vs. boring, traitorous, ugly Kerry. The “traitorous” image is what did Kerry in, not he humor on Bush’s dumbness.

Fast forward to today to what we have so far: rock-star, bad-assed neophyte Obama vs. boring, old, experienced McCain. I don’t think humor is going to cut it. We need some serious attacks on the Obama’s weaknesses.

This is going to be a very glum race.

      • s. hall

ellen – when I watched the Stewart tape I winced when he talked about the places Obama was speaking. Its embarrassing that this candidate is so over the top. The man is just a candidate and yet he wants to do joint news conferences with the British Prime Minister and speak at the Brandenburg Gate. There is something wrong with Obama and his popularity with young people is on the decline. So everyday he tries harder to get back what he lost and he is making himself look ever more ridiculous. This is an aging nation. We have 45 Million Seniors and 78 Million Boomers and a nation in deep trouble — the polls show that Americans are not impressed with the Magical Mystery Tour Obama is giving us at our expense.

    • Bigtime

I bet he gets tons of hate mail now and from both sides of the party. At least he is mocking The O and his Obot cult some. A few mounts back it was attack Clintons and praise The One night after night, so he has come around some. I quit watching him around April +/-.

blu — Obama can go with the Messiah image if he likes but its not working with ordinary Americans. His numbers are going down and instead of getting serious he becomes even more over the top. This does not impress us boomers and he will need us if he wants to win. If the media turns — Obama is toast.

The photo op campaign – All “Mishun Accomplished” all the time”

    • katmandu

Yup. From the Washington Post’s media writer:

Ralph Begleiter, a former CNN correspondent who is now journalist in residence at the University of Delaware, says the notion that Obama was making real news — as opposed to exploiting pretty backdrops — is “a sham argument. Of course it’s a photo op. If he wanted to go to Afghanistan as a senator, he could have done it.”

This is all an Obama presidency would be. He’d be as cautious as president as with this speech. He’d do absolutely as little as possible to ensure he didn’t cause any ripples in the pond. And he’d be the photo-op president.

        I’ve said that for months.

I agree. They are shocked we’re considering McCain. I’m leaning. I haven’t decided yet.

But I have to say that I’m not sure that an Obama presidency with his lack of will would not be more damaging to America than a McCain presidency. McCain would be trumped by a Dem congress, unless the Dems blow that opportunity, too.

So I see him ONLY being able to get through non-partisanship laws/programs. The only thing I see him stopping is health care, and that’s not going to happen anyway under Obama. He isn’t interested enough in making it happen. Without the will, there will be no headway. He’ll just make an excuse as to why it didn’t happen. Blame someone else.

I think McCain would be more honest with people. He’s more direct. I think he’d follow through on Iraq with meeting the standards laid out rather than a time deadline. I think he wouldn’t get us involved in Afghanistan without a real plan that makes sense. I see no virtue to blowing up more dessert dirt with patriot missles. I don’t see us invading Pakistan. So what’s the point? I am not savvy on military stuff, so maybe I’m off on this. But I don’t see the virtue of going there without a real plan.

I think McCain may well be a safer solution for the country. Obama is like some kind of bauble that we can’t really afford.

He’s all photo-op stuff. McCain won’t be anywhere as good as Hillary would have been, but he’s better than Obama.

At least that’s how I’m seeing it now.

The Republican presidential nominee was among the first to say he would boycott the Olympics opening ceremonies next month in Beijing after China launched a bloody crackdown on Tibetan independence activists. Obama later echoed McCain, although they did not convince George Bush to change his mind on attending the Olympics opening ceremony.

      then…

It’s official. Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign will be among the TV sponsors of NBC Universal’s Olympics coverage. In the first significant network-TV buy of any presidential candidate in at least 16 years, the Obama campaign has taken a $5 million package of Olympics spots that includes network TV as well as cable ads.

According to NBC’s political file, the campaign had initially requested information about 500,000, $2 million and $4 million package of Olympics spots. The network also offered the candidate a $10 million package.

      • wac for hillary

Is Obama’s campaign paying for the spots, or is NBC providing them for free since they are totally in the tank for him?

Well I’ve got a few questions. IF, a big IF, IF Obama wins the presidency, goes two terms, what will he campaign for next? Let’s see–he could campaign for leader of the world. Who will he campaign against? I guess no one since there isn’t a slot for that yet. Well, he could make one up. Once leader of the world is over, what’s left?

It seems like he has been campaigning for something all of his life. The problem is, once he got what he wanted, he hasn’t done anything of substance with the job.

I believe Obama has an inferiority complex. He has this need for attention all of the time.

One last observation–In this morning’s paper, there is an article titled,” Obama leaves mixed feelings in Middle East.” The article goes on to say that, “Israelis and Palestinians were in rare agreement on one point: Obama told each what they wanted to hear, but his real audience was Jewish voters back home in America.” “He is here in order to impress the voters back home,” said Israeli political analyst Yossi Alpher. “Israelis find him interesting, he says the right things carefully, but it’s not the kind of visit that one can assess in any substantive or qualitative way.”

It did my heart good to see that with one visit the Iraelis could see right through Obama and his BS talk of Hope and change.

I’ve said this since the beginning…he doesn’t really care if he is better, he cares if he makes as much money.

Obama wants to get past the Presidency to his next lofty goal….making over $50M per book, and getting the Clinton bucks for giving a speech, something he thinks he does better than anyone in the world! He’s so arrogant!! Obama will never be able to speak as eloquently, and factually as both Clintons do…and they don’t need a teleprompter or crafted composition to give their greatest speeches evah!!!!

      • http://deleted AnninCa

All Dems aspiring to president are obsessed with Bill. He’s the ONE. He did what they fail to do. And even impeached, he left with the highest rating of popularity with people ever.

He’s still highly popular, in spite of the press. THEY have tried for years to knock him down, because he wags his finger and tells them to do their jobs. LOL*

And the people LOVE Bill, because we totally agree! Half the press questions are stupid and reflect a lack of homework.

So Bill remains the Democratic Icon. And he’s rolling out a new AIDS program rather than even participate in this fiasco.

There’s an article today about how Obama paid back the New Yorker by not allowing them a place on his press plane for the trip.

They were shocked he was so petty-minded, since they’ve done numerous positive pieces on him.

That’s the Obama method. Either the coverage is positive, or he’s going to cut the news source out.

Threatening them may work, too. I have no confidence that they have the integrity left to stand up to that bullying method.

      • wac for hillary

It worked with the SD’s who cowardly changed their support from Hillary to Obama. Bush believes in payback, too, but Obama has taken it to a whole new level. I hope the DNC elites rot in hell for what they have inflicted on this country. They are worse than the RNC of 2000 and 2004 because they lied about having values and integrity.

        • http://deleted AnninCa

On this, we agree. I believe the DNC has completely sold out our Democratic Party principles.

And they are whining because it cost them 30% of registered Democrats to pull it off.

They have no excuse to whine. They have nobody to blame but themselves.

The writing was on the wall from the first primary. Exit poll after exit poll showed that traditional Democrats were not sold on Obama, did not trust his extreme inexperience, and were not impressed with his judgment.

          The DNC ignored the obvious.

They will not eat the consequences.

It would tie us to the UN and the world, and give them some authority over us, even up to placing some UN troops on UNITED STATES SOIL!!!!!!!!!!

It would also tie us to some sort of global disarming INCLUDING CITIZENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess he is just going to throw the constitution under the bus with everyone else, INCLUDING US!!

This guy is out of control and must be stopped!

Off topic, but I’ve been annoyed with some so called “progressive” sexism towards Cindy McCain. She really is a remarkable woman in her own right.

this is an interesting article about her:

Thanks….that really is a nice piece on her. Frankly, I like Cindy better than Michelle. I think Cindy’s style of protecting the privacy suits her. I always feel as though Michelle is trying to hard to be someone other than herself.

        • Yesbama

what a suprise that you like cindy mccain better than michelle obama.

          • http://deleted AnninCa

I like how she’s more herself. Michelle is being squeezed into some kind of persona that doesn’t suit her.

Let’s put Michelle and Cindi’s bios side by side; you tell me which one has done the most selfless acts in their lives. It’s not even remotely close.

    • wac for hillary

I read her bio on McCain’s website; she is an amazing woman with a lot of class.

    OK this is from cnn.com

He picks up a pair of 16 kilo weights and starts curling them with his left and right arms, 30 repetitions on each side. Then, amazingly, he picks up the 32 kilo weights! Very slowly he lifts them, first 10 curls with his right, then 10 with his left.

Quickly I ask: “Mr. Obama, could I take a photo?”. “Of course!” he answers, before asking my name and coming over to stand next to me. “My name’s Judith” I reply. “I’m Barack Obama, nice to meet you!” he says, and puts his arm across my shoulder. I put my arm around his hip — wow, he didn’t even sweat! WHAT A MAN!”

Now then, that is 30 reps with 35 pounds, then ten with 70.

If he could really do that, he would be huge and jacked. And this is reported as “news”?
    WTF?

    • yttik

LOL! Oh good grief, this is like homoerotic porn. Which by the way I have nothing against, it’s just that I don’t really want to listen to people’sexual fantasies during the nightly news.

The other night I swear they were about to describe a shower scene after Obama’s basketball game. I had to shut it off. The last election was about “who would you most like to have a drink with?” I swear this one is about “who would you most like to sleep with?”

I think it’s the MTV Generation coming home to roost. lol

That is not an image I want with me all day! This reminds me of Candy Crowley drooling over Bush. The media types must like these type candidates because they are as empty-headed as they are. In this case the saying “opposites attract” does not apply!

This is an email going around:

    Date: Tuesday, July 22, 2008 , 10:36 AM
This was sent to me by a woman that goes to church with my parents. I used to babysit Jeff’s kids and am still in contact with his wife who is stationed back east. I fully trust Jeff’s opinion and am glad to share this experience he had with you! As Sheri says below: take from it what you will.
    Athena Hughes

This is a guy that I know personally. He is the father of six and currently serving in Afghanistan . This is his take of Senator Obama visit to ‘the troops’. Kind of a different take that what you will see on the news. Make of it what you will. ~ Sheri

    Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to ‘The War Zone’. I wanted to share with you what happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram. As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service. So really he was just here to make a showing for the American’s back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you. I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States . I just don’t understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.
If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

This has been going around a couple of days w/o the name of the soldier who wrote it. Some starting speculating on it’s authenticity. I’m glad to see it signed although I fear for CPT Porter. I hope he is not punished for his honesty.
