If Obama picks a republican for VP, half of his supporters would leave him and McCain may feel free to pick Hillary. The two of them would take all 50 states - leaving Obama with the remaining 7 or 8 (plus the two he didn't campaign in.)
After McCain Hillary would stay in the White House.
All my dreams would come true. (I have limited dreams nowdays. Originally I was dreaming about Hillary as president.)

copy from larger article, my emph...

In Berlin, supporters of one of these organizations, PUMA (Party Unity My Ass), were distributing leaflets calling for such an open party convention. Obama's security team confiscated the leaflets, not only from the PUMA organizers themselves, but also from any spectator who passed through the security gate, leaflet in hand. So much for Obama's oft-cited "change."

In his Berlin speech, Obama's election strategists were counting on the so-called "let go of the dog's tail" effect. The dog is, of course, happy when someone who has been dragging it around by the tail, inflicting great pain, finally lets go. It doesn't take much to understand that the people of the entire world will be glad when Bush and Cheney finally disappear from the White House premises. But as we have already pointed out, the new Obama package has the same old stuff inside.

Up to now, nowhere—not in the United States, Berlin, or anywhere else—has Obama said anything about the dramatically climaxing meltdown of the financial system, nor anything about the insolvency of the giant mortgage finance companies Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae, whose death-throes are only being drawn out by the Fed's unlimited injections of liquidity. Obama, whose lack of knowledge about the complex strategic situation cannot be remedied by some week-long crash course, is not expected to offer any answer to the systemic crisis as it unfolds over the coming weeks. And if Obama's campaign strategists refuse to permit an open party convention, then it certainly will not be because they are so sure that Obama will win the Presidency. And even if he does get nominated, this will have absolutely no effect on the escalating systemic crisis.

You're right. Saudi Arabia is a very important and broad topic of conversation and warrants a whole show on its own. More on the Saudis next time, promise. And remember that the Saudi influence in Pakistan is significant and very troubling.

Not one bit.

It was Ibamas first chance to actually make a decision in the Iraq War, and he made a politically calculated decision, which turned out to be very wrong.

McCain made a very politically risky decision, and was right. McCain put country above political ambition, something Ibama could NEVER do.

Bush was stubborn about sending additional troops to Iraq. McCain and commanders on the ground had been pushing for additional troops as early as the planning stages before the invasion. Some of tose commanders and generals were given early retirement.

McCain questioned the tactics pushed by Rumsfeld and pushed for Rumsfelds resignation.

McCain fought his own President, party, and risked his political future for what he believed in. he never equivicated, and never straddled both sides of the issue.

McCain was absolutely right, and demonstrated outstanding leadership. God Bless him for it.

You are obviously not from NY. In the last election, Hillary won a majority even from Republicans. The western NY area is predominantly Republican, and although the did not vote for Hillary in her firs election, they did the second time around.

In 2004 Wilson won the election by a 10% margin over Richard Romero, the same margin of victory she had against Romero in the 2002 election.

In the 2006 elections, Heather Wilson New Mexico Attorney General Patricia A. Madrid. A poll taken from October 24-29 by Reuters/Zogby showed Madrid leading Wilson 53-44. Wilson won the election by 875 votes. (Zogby has not had an accurate poll for 16 years)

Carly could help McCain on the economy, but, she is not an elected official. The VP slot will go to someone who has been elected.

I was glad to see Bloomberg with McCain the other day. And, even though he did not endorse McCain, Bloomberg could be a surprise VP pick.

I know he was in the Jewish community in Boca, defending Ibama from Muslim overtones, but, McCain has done the same thing for Obama.

McCain does not need to remind anyone about Obamas ties to Islam, the TUCC, Jeremiah Wright, and Farrakhan. Not when the New Yorker prints wonderful cartoons, and we blog about it.
