No more so than misfiling books in a library is a crime against humanity. But one should face the reality that someone who has purposefully killed in the past understands what is involved in such acts, so when they earnestly say that they intend to do so again if necessary, there is a certain level of credibility. When someone who has not done so before makes the same assertion, well, in my experience, when it comes to killing another human being, no one really knows how, or even if, one will act until the time comes.

Once again if this was a conventional war I would not underestimate anything, especially our troops. But this is not a conventional war and as I have said before we do not have success with COIN operations using conventional troops.

History has proven this repeatedly.

Enemy body counts is not and should not be the measurement of success. Especially in COIN where enemy strengths are an unknown.

Its going to be a very costly endeavor for us at this time.

Your friends are themselves dangerous radical Muslims.

TGIF.

A doctor has three Muslim "hardcore foreign takfiri salafists" patients in his office being checked for alzheimer's.
He asks the first patient "How much is 3*3?"
The first patient says, "70".
(Doctor shakes his head and leaves to check his 2nd patient)
Doctor comes in and asks the second patient, "How much is 3*3?"
The second patient says, "Easy, doc, that equals "The Evil Satan"...
(Doctor shakes his head and leaves to check his 3rd patient)
Doctor comes in and asks the third hardcore foreign takfiri salafist patient, "How much is 3*3?"
Third guy prays to Allah for a moment and says. "9 doc, why?"
Doctor asks the third patient, "Just how did you get the answer?
"Why doc, I just divided 70 by the Evil Satan and got 9."

I doubt it.
Are these the same "intelligence" agencies who said that Iran wasn't building a nuclear weapon?
Or Iraq has WMD?

It was one conversation, and it was not with a "friend." The context of the conversation was entirely serious, however, and given the background of the person, who was a former combat infantryman in the U.S. Army who has done his share of killing while in uniform, it was perfectly credible.
As for him being a "dangerous, radical Musim," currently, he and his fellow religionists are of no danger to me or anyone else who just leaves them alone to live in peace. I believe them to be of considerable potential danger, however, to hardcore foreign takfiri salafists who attempt to try to threaten them into becoming terrorist supporter elemens.
As for reporting him to DHS, actually, that is the wrong federal government agency to report this type of thing to. The correct federal government agency is aware, however.

I read that Karzai quote earlier, Nom, which only ties into statements made by a number of our own people. Another 15-20 years? On our dime? And how many dead for what result?

This will not end well.

yes, it is No Country Without One of Our Military Bases Left Behind.
Today Clinton is issuing threats to any South American nation that decides to do business with Iran, with a special shout out to Venezuela and Bolivia; & the US is still attempting to levy increased sanctions against Iran (blockade). Just what the world needs: a new Gaza.
["We also are well aware of Iran’s interests in promoting itself with a number of other countries – Venezuela and Bolivia, as you mentioned – and we can only say that that is a really bad idea for the countries involved. And we hope that there will be a recognition that this is the major supporter, promoter, and exporter of terrorism in the world today. The Revolutionary Guard of Iran, which is increasing its control over the country because of the elections, which were a stark example of the abuse of human rights in action, is deeply involved in the economy as well as the security issues of Iran. And I think that if people want to flirt with Iran, they should take a look at what the consequences might well be for them, and we hope that they will think twice, and we’re going to support them if they do. (Applause.)" http://www.state.gov/secretary/rm/2009a/12/133453.htm]

Evo Morales just won re-election in Bolivia by a landslide (63% to 27% nearest competitor: this is well up from 2005 when he won with 54%); in addition to its oil & gas, Bolivia is the world's largest supplier of lithium, and has entered into a recent agreement with Iran on development. The US has of course been engaged in campaign (NED/USAID) to privatize & control the resources of Bolivia since god knows when (at least back into the 1930's when the oil companies instigated the Chaco War; prior to the US, the British and the War of the Pacific), much as we did Honduras. (One such endeavor in 2000 was to privatize the water supply of Cochabamba, the 3rd largest city in Bolivia, leaving it in the hands of a US owned consortium. Ultimately the US corporations lost. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_Cochabamba_protests#Resolution). One expects to wake up one morning and find that Morales has been shot dead and replaced by our tool Reyes.
